Rise of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - The Green Ranger

The Power Rangers refuse to accept that killing her is the only way to free Tommy from Rita’s control, determined to find a way to end RIta without risking their friend.

One by one, over several battles with the Dark Green Ranger, the team are able to summon their Dino Zords, all inspired by a comment made by Billy when they first found the Power Coins. Once all five are summoned, they make a last stand, taking down Rita’s Dark Dragonzord with their newly formed Megazord, the Rangers fight on the ground, urging Tommy to fight her, don’t let her win!

Zack cries out, holding her back from the rest of the team, “Tommy! Don’t let her decide who you are! You decide that!”

Jason on her other side adds on, “You’re one of the strongest people I know! Fight her!”

Trini supports, disarming the Dragon Saber from Rita’s grip, “You have to be brave for us! For yourself!”

From then on, Tommy officially joins the team as the Green Power Ranger.

I'm here to ask you about you Bastard Children of Bones Riley AU before you explode. So, could you please tell me about your AU?

ABSOLUTELY I CAN

So this all started in DMs with Atohi (@/atohii, not actually tagging because I don't want to spam you, my love) who got me into Call of Duty in the first place. It was his special interest and I was like "oh, to show my love for my partner, I should learn more about what he's interested in" you know, as one does. And now it's my special interest, too.

But here's the thing: for my special interests, I create a metric shit ton of OCs. If I have even a vague idea for a character, it's spiralling out of control. This is how Lennie, the all-seeing Irish cryptid Chief of Logistics & Supply officer on the 141's home base, came into being. AND it's how I came up with Cam.

This is Cameron "Cam" Love Davis. I was using this avatar maker app and trying to make a version of Simon, but this one didn't really have the looks I wanted. So I was like "damn he looks like he could maybe be Simon's baby brother, just not Tommy". And then I was like "okay now wait, we all know Ghost's dad is a bastard who regularly slept around, so what if...?"

So Cam is Ghost's trans baby half-brother who felt his life lacked direction and never met Simon but always felt a connection to him. As far as he's aware, Simon's dead - and innocent of the Riley Murders - and he's following his footsteps into the military trying to make his big brother proud from wherever he's looking down from. And he does! He follows his brother's footsteps all the way to the 141 where Ghost, who doesn't know he had any half-siblings at all, oversees his training.

And so I was telling Atohi about all this and then I went "lmao you know it would be really funny if after the reveal Cam was just like 'yeah there's dozens of us let me add you to the groupchat'" and then I went "wait, what if...?"

So now, I have this au where there's a discord server with 21 people in it and 2 people too young to join, and the server is titled The Bastard Children of Bones Riley (1962-2015, RIH) and they all have the same dad and they all hate him and none of them ever met the Riley brothers even though they all knew they were related. (The youngest kid was born after the massacre, so she never had the chance to meet them.) In some versions of this au, the older ones all met for the first time when they showed up at Bones' grave for desecration purposes. (Most of them also brought flowers for Tommy, Beth, Simon, Joey, and Simon's mom's graves.)

And for Ghosts fans, I made the oldest of the Bastard Children have a mom who was an American tourist and went back to the States and had one Keegan Russ. So Keegan and Simon are half-brothers in this au, and Ghost Team does still exist, they just came into being under different circumstances and haven't interacted with the 141. Yet.

Also I do like Oliver/Olivia/Olivier/Olive etc. as a name in general.

Plus "Oliver" is (or was, idk I guess I'm old?) a bit of a stereotypical name for trans men. I've personally met several Olivers over the years, both IRL and online. Oliver you're valid. Good choice.

And then Oliver Stark having the name he does was just a bonus that made it even funnier to me.

I have an image of Kendall's bedroom in my head. It's dark/dim, covered in pride flags, dinosaurs and fairylights. It's cluttered as fuck but somehow tidy, except for the few books and research paper that always seems to find themselves scattered across the room.

The curtains and bedding are purple, her walls are black with a purple accent wall, her light shades are pink. She liked purple before becoming a ranger.

Posters and flags cover the walls, her signed poster from Paleontologist Tommy Oliver is framed on her wall in a green frame, cause that's the only one she could find at the time (yes, that is a mmpr reference). Her Bisexual, Trans and Demigirl flags are across the wall across from her bed, surrounding her signed poster. She has a progress pride flag on the ceiling, which she has multiple times woken up with it on top of her since it's over her bed.

The right wall has her wardrobes/closets (one for work and one for other) and her door. The little bit of wall space has posters, you can barely tell the wall is meant to be black.

The left wall is where the window is, surrounded by the prior mentioned purple curtains. Posters are across this wall too, of course, though, you can actually see the wall, when she's not working on a paleontology project. Her desk is here too, in front of the window. It has the best light, and she's nothing if not practical.

Occasionally you can find a few PR stuff across her bedroom when she has to, but usually she just stays at the base when she's in the middle of something. She has had designs in her room though. It's mostly museum stuff she brings home, but most of that is in the main room on her coffee table.

Above her door is a real sword that she bought second hand. It's a Zandarian sword, which she thought was ironic since they ended up with two Zandarians on the team. She also has a box of real knives and daggers, all with covers on ofc. She collects them.

It is, in parts, what a gay teens room could look like, because she never got to have that due to her own childhood.

other than the shooting scene and the will etc. being very romantic, eddie's breakup scene with ana was so heavily queercoded it wasn't even funny. also, in general eddie has just been queercoded for so long now that even without the twitter insider telling us he has always been written as gay that is a very easy conclusion to come to on your own. lfj leaking that he was originally brought in for a storyline with eddie and it being a last minute change to buck also seals the fact that the writers have been writing eddie as queer. there is just such a plethora of evidence, both in the text of the show and outside of it, that eddie is a gay character. so with that it would only make sense that bi buck would end up with him given how attached eddie is to him and vice versa.

Tbh I was going to give some kind of longwinded answer about how I don't think that's the only valid interpretation of Eddie's sexuality (I still have it so if anyone wants to discuss the topic or read it feel free to DM me, I don't bite) but people apparently hate that in this fandom so I will keep this answer short. (ish, it got away from me)

Bi Buck at that point was only an idea, it made it about as far as Maddie/Eddie and Eddie/Tommy, before being shot down - it was picked back up again but that was only really something that was going to happen under a different show runner and/or network.

Oliver said absolutely nothing about who that would have been with (or any relationships had they chosen to go down that route), he only referenced Buck's sexuality, Eddie did not come up at all as far as anyone knows.

We don't know the exact time period it would've been written, had it gone ahead earlier - and since it was shot down they likely wouldn't have been writing with it in mind.

It could've gone down the Buck/Eddie route but I don't know what their quota was for younger (relative to the show and GA) straight male lead characters - I know people hate that answer but networks will be thinking about marketing and what demographics they have to fill (and don't have to fill), not just what a small subset of the fandom want.

It was never confirmed. Nobody said Buck/Eddie was shot down or that it was ever brought up. We cannot confirm that, and it's not a given.

Can you clarify the 911 franchise? There’s one gay couple in Lone Star (Tarlos?) and now a new one in a different show?

911 came first (and for the record has had a lesbian couple, Hen and Karen, since day 1) and people have long suspected the character Buck (played by Oliver Stark) is queer. I think even during season 1 some people mentioned it but in season 2 it got a thousand times louder when Eddie (played by Ryan Guzman) joined the show and the two characters were basically immediately inseparable, with Buck even helping to co-parent Eddie's son. Obviously you've seen that finally it was confirmed in the most recent episode of the show that Buck is bisexual when he kissed another firefighter, Tommy. So, we'll see what happens next...

Meanwhile Lone Star is a spin-off of 911 set in Texas and TK and Carlos (Tarlos) have been together since they met in the first episode of the show. At the end of the most recent season they got married! There's also a trans character (Paul) and I think it's been mentioned that another character (Nancy) is bi.

Lightning Collection Wave 14 revealed -- Mesogog, Lost Galaxy Pink, Dino Thunder Black, Dino Fury Blue

For the first segment of today's Hasbro Pulse Power Rangers stream, the next wave of the 14th Lightning Collection wave was announced in its entirety following much of it being teased at the last Pulsecon.

Starting things off, the biggest surprise of the wave was Dino Thunder's Mesogog; the main antagonist of the second dinosaur-themed season. The figure replicates the villain's monstrous mutated form with a movable hinged jaw and hooked claws; coming with a pair of alternate fists and two energy effect parts -- both of which can be mounted on his hands, but one of which can be fired from his head.

To compliment the Mesogog release, his notable rival Tommy Oliver is included in the wave as Dino Thunder Black; finally finishing off all 5 of the Dino Thunder rangers in Lightning Collection. Cast in flat black plastic with shining gold paint applications for the patterns all over his body, Dino Thunder Black comes with his signature Brachio Staff weapon with complete paint applications for full accuracy to the show - which is also able to be holstered on his waist - an orange lightning effect part that mounts on its tip; and an alternate unhelmeted headsculpt. For hand options, he includes two weapon-holding hands, a left fist and a right 'clawed' posing hand.

Leaving only one ranger of the team left to go, the next figure in the wave is Lost Galaxy Pink. Specifically representing the power as used by the scientist Kendrix Morgan, an unhelmeted headsculpt is included to represent her; whose glasses are even a separate removable piece. For accessories, she comes with her signature Trans Dagger configuration and the Quasar Saber in both its holstered and full saber modes; with the former able to slot in her holster. A blue lightning effect piece is included which can wrap around the sword, while the hand options included are two weapon-holding hands, a left fist and a right chopping hand.

Finally, the Dino Fury coverage in the line continues with Dino Fury Blue. Featuring similar paint applications to Dino Fury Red to capture the jagged bolt design on the chest, Dino Fury Blue naturally includes his signature sword which can be holstered on his waist, with a yellow lightning effect piece to complement it. An unhelmeted headsculpt is included as well, with the hand options being two weapon-holding hands, a right fist and a left open posing hand.

Lightning Collection Wave 14 releases at general retail in June 2023 for $24.99 per figure, with pre-orders now available on websites such as Hasbro Pulse.
