it had been almost two weeks since the big fight between uncle harvey and bruce. alfred refused to answer any of our questions about where uncle jarvey was. hell, i'd tried calling him on one of my burners but he never answered. i was scared, worried even. he never stayed out this long. never. then i heard my emergency burner phone ringing in my backpack. i was confused snd ran to find and answer it. it was uncle harvey.

” holy shit, uncle harv! are you okay? where have you been? are you coming back home? ” dick asked, questions running off his tongue like an automatic firearm.

” dickie, hey, uhm,, do you have any money? I need some for,, somethin'. ” ‘ uncle harvey ’ asked in return, his voice sounded... slurred. dick could tell he was drunk immediately, but that's not what bothered him. it was the asking for money. harvey knew dick had issues with ‘ friends ’ asking for money. besides, bruce was a way better option for money.

” wha– what'd'ya' mean? uncle harv where– ”

” damnnit, [static] grayson! answer me. ” ‘ uncle harvey ’ snapped back. his full naming dick was cut off by some feedback through the phone but dick could tell what harvey just called him. dick's heart started banging in his chest, tears starting to form. he hadn't been called that in years. and never by uncle harvey.

dick shut the flip phone, stashed it back in his backpack and backed up shakily onto his bed. he couldn't stop the tears. he was so confused. why would uncle harvey call me that? he,, he never called me that. why would he yell at me like that? did i do someone wrong? what the fuck happened to him...
