I just want a safe place to be myself, is that too much to ask for? Is it too much to ask for people to at least try to understand people. I am more than my identity, sure, but it's still a big part of who I am as a person. My gender identity shapes how people respond to me, interact with me, and how I interact with and see the world in turn.

I wish that people would take at least a bit of time to recognize that it costs nothing to use and respect people's preferred pronouns, names, and labels. It benefits everyone if you do so. And if you don't want to interact with these people, block trans tags, block trans creators. Don't talk to trans people irl.

It doesn't matter if you agree with our identities or not. What matters is that we are people with thoughts, feelings, and emotions and deserve to be respected.

I don't know how to explain to people that they should care about and respect others because they're people, and if you need an explanation then you aren't someone I want to associate with.
