We're getting into the last few of these pride headcanons now, and to kick off the final five we haaaaave...

Anne Boonchuy from Amphibia! I am far from the only person that thinks this girl is trans as hell (I mean shit "trannes" is a well stocked tag) but I'll be happy to talk about her!

Okay, so, getting right to the nitty-gritty, Anne's whole arc throughout this show is about figuring out who she is. That's decently clear in the earlier seasons, if you know what to look for and catch a few choice bits such as "finally me and it's no big deal" or "I'm finally happy with who I see in the mirror right now," but then in season 3 we remove all doubt of this being a central theme with the flashbacks to Anne's principal literally asking her who she wants to be and Anne not having much of an answer. I don't think it needs saying, really, but yeah, that's a pretty big mood as a trans girl.

Anne starts the show rudderless and totally unsure of herself. Part of that was the flaws in her friendship with Sasha and Marcy, but not all of it. By the end, though? This girl is so utterly sure of herself that she turns down godhood because she doesn't want to lose her chance to continue growing and improving as a person. Absolutely fucking legendary.

Once they start dating, Sasha and Marcy veeery shyly try to convince Anne not to tell her parents quite yet because with everything Amphibia, they feared their were pushing their tolerance a bit too far and they didn't want to be banned from the house or forbidden from having sleepovers. And Anne listens, because it sounds reasonable, and she doesn't want the age of sleepovers to end either, and the thought of telling her parents makes her nervous, and this does concern the three of them and their privacy. And those two look like kicked puppies asking that, so nervous and hesitant because they don't feel like they're in a position to ask such things from her at this point, not to mention, they don't want to be controlling again, or to make her distance herself from her family. It's almost cute how small they look, if it didn't kinda break her heart to see them like this. It's fine. Coming out can wait a year or two.

Not that her parents don't notice almost instantly. They're not exactly subtle or good at lying. They let them have it - they're young and they've gone through a lot. Still, Anne thinks she's so sneaky holding Sasha's hand under the table (and kick her in a way that seemed less and less friendly the more Sasha kicked back) or pushing Marcy into her closet mid make out session, leaning nonchalanyly against its door with a "sup, mom" and a toothy grin that just made her roll her eye.

They give them privacy - it wasn't like Anne was going to get pregnant, and as for the other two, well, they trusted their daughter was responsible enough. Truth be told, they doubted they were doing anything more than kissing at this age. They needed to feel like kids again, without a care in the world. They quite enjoyed the space. Every time her girlfriends came over, they set two mattresses on the ground for them to sleep in, but they would always push them together and let Anne climb down between them, to sleep in their arms, which to her, felt like the safest place in the world.
