We've got another route for release, it is a TVS Elsbridge Station. Locations include Elsbridge Station and Yard, as well as Elsbridge Viaduct, Countryside, and Elsbridge Town. This route was created in Trainz Railroad Simular 2019 by @jonberry555 (Trainz user name: TheRailwayConductor1)

Heading for Oakland, California with a Buy War Bonds coach is train no. 39, the Westbound Exposition Flyer, with Western Pacific GS-64 No. 481 serving as the motive power. This scene is taking place just a few years before the Exposition Flyer would be replaced by the famed all-streamlined California Zephyr train in 1949.

GET OUTTA MY WAY! I have unfinished business here and I wanna finish it FAST!

Yup, since I have a new gaming laptop that means I'm back on my Trainz bullshit. Still haven't migrated over to Trainz 2019 though, really should when I get the time.

Also tried to edit the in Paint.NET after I took the screenshot to add a motion blur to Diesel 10 to properly give the effect of him rushing past Thomas and Gordon. Not perfectly done but I think it works well enough, y'know?

While barely visible (you can slightly see one behind Diesel 10), Gordon's coaches are from Sodor Workshops (look I'd just feel bad not sourcing, y'know?)

I cannot find the source for Annie and Clarabel (again barely visible, but they're still there). It's a CGI-styled one but I can't find the source and I've checked all the links for TTTE Trainz content I've got so maybe it got deleted or I'm just dumb)

Our Marvelous Machines: The Shining Time Spur - Part II : Hank and Billy.

Apologies for the gap ! Doctor Who brainrot has been letting itself be known once again, also y'know, life in general. So last time I explained the origins of the spur, from here I will be diving into a couple of its mainstay duos, I had originally meant for this to be a single post but it would end up as quite the intimidating text-wall, both for myself and the reader, therefore "Ladies and Stones" will be Part III. First of all I would like to remind everyone again: OMM is a grand "Canon-Amalgamation" and almost certainly subject to change. So lets get started under the cut.

Billy and Hank.

So at first glance, one may make the assumption I mean Billy the Engine, I don't, not here at least, that's a headache for another day. Who I do mean, is everyone's favorite "engineer" brought to worldwide prominence from a certain controversial feature film.

Billy Twofeathers:

Oh yeah, most if not all my images will be Trainz-based, this one is a model by a friend of mine (which i do not have the cdp for, so i stole this shot from TheUnluckyDoug, Thanks Doug!)

Billy is the senior "engineer" at work on "The Spur", his family is of Lakota heritage and were part of the first group to make their way to Sodor being instrumental in the founding of Shining-Time. Their family was one of very few to never have a member "move on" into the wider world. It was in doubt that this would continue when young Billy showed an immense talent and passion for working on the railway. The people of Shining-Time thought it a crying shame, Billy was a beloved individual even as a youngster. He always displayed an immense kindness and wisdom beyond his years and could always be relied upon to do his best to help anyone out of a scrape. It also didn't hurt that he was a talented musician and many nights at the local bar featured Billy performing all the "old favourites" to raucous applause. Luckily "The Spur Project" came into being right as Billy came of-age and he quickly signed up to help in its construction. With his passion and desire to learn more and more, he quickly became the favourite of all the other workers on the project, all of whom were delighted to pass on "our ways" to a young man who's only previous knowledge was that brought to Shining-Time from the states. Sir Charles, always with an ear to the ground came to hear of Billy, his passion, and how beloved he was to the people of Shining-Time and decided to offer him a chance to work his way to engine driver. The spur would take a while to complete thanks to logistical issues (*cough* British Railways *cough*) and it was by no means all-hands-on-deck. Billy delightedly agreed and after passing out as cleaner in record time, he spent the remainder of the construction apprenticed under Charlie Sand and Sidney Heaver, with whom he got on famously. Upon the completion of The Spur he had made Fireman and was transferred to complete his apprenticeship under whatever Driver happened to be working there on any particular day. Engines and Crews alike were not best pleased with this arrangement, assignments could change on a dime and many were barely given the chance to learn the route before being assigned elsewhere. The people of Shining-Time were also unhappy with this carry-on, they wanted consistency and a chance to have a rapport with the engine and crew that served them, something needed to change. The people of Shining-Time would always ask after Billy, ask when he was going to "come back to us," and add some of their "own ways" back to the spur which ran much like any other branch on the North-Western and, to the surprise of nobody, the instant Billy made driver he was instantly assigned permanently to "The Spur". There was however still a problem: there was still no resident locomotive to pull the trains. Billy would often be seen cajoling either one of the available "utility" fleet or a poor-misfortunate left idle at Ballahoo up-and-down the line. It was unfortunate for everyone that one of these unfortunates was quite often James. James did like Billy, and he liked Shining-Time really, but he did not like being plucked straight from an arduous slow goods to multiple fast turns of Ballahoo to Shining Time and back. He made this opinion quite known in the sheds at Tidmouth and caused so many headaches that a deputation was organised on the matter just to shut him up.

This deputation led to another heated meeting between the governance at Shining-Time, the directors at the North-Western and a representative from British Rail who had already been subject to so many headaches from "Sodor-Shenanigans" that he was content to let anything that didn't effect BR's bottom line pass without issue.

In the end after many long days and nights of debate, it was agreed. With the bulk of the cost covered using a considerable stipend from the town of Shining-Time along with a not insignificant sum from the North-Western, construction began at Crovans Gate on a new locomotive, built to a States-Style design, modified to suit the needs of the island with input from both Twofeathers and Hatt.

Despite minor opposition from the representative of BR that the engine was steam powered rather than a more modern type. (which was quickly quashed into submission as it was cleverly pointed out that the locomotive was technically only part of a private exchange that benefited the North-Western region rather than a build commissioned by the "Big Railway.") began in earnest and was completed and delivered without major issue. This engine would come to be known as:

HANK: :SCENE MISSING:

hmm, remember what I said about using Trainz as visual reference? Yeah, there's no suitable Hank in Trainz at present so I ask you to use your imagination. Hank in OMM is essentially a more suitable version of his Television counterpart, he still retains the outline and features from that model like his cowcatcher and bell but has been brought down to the island's loading gauge and fitted with proper buffers. He's painted in a slightly darker shade of North-Western blue with red accents and lining in the same style as other North-Western Blue painted engines like Edward and Gordon. The locals insisted with emblazoning the words "Shining-Time" on his tender and he carries the words with quiet pride.

Hank is extremely popular with "his folks". His laid-back but hard working demeanor also makes him a perfect match with Billy and his later permanent fireman. (who will be explained in future).

No work is too big or small for Hank, he delights in any work he's given and can be relied upon to complete even the most complicated jobs with little fuss.

Hank is quite the social butterfly with the other engines also, despite his laid-back-ness he is nearly always first on the scene to help smooth any ruffled feathers among his friends, his level-headedness often being the saving grace of the individuals who just want a quiet life without the characteristic arguing of Sodor's enginekind.

Hank however can be quite lonely, being the only engine stabled at Shining-Time for quite awhile it was bound to happen. This makes him a bit of a "people-pleaser" and has a habit of not arguing his case to save an individuals feelings even if it would be the most beneficial to all course of action, which has led to his own share of confusion and delay.

As luck would have it, Hank would not be the only engine-resident of Shining-Time forever, but that is a story for:

Chronic illness body has been being difficult to get along with and interfering with running errands and doing laundry, but, I could sit on my butt and put scenes together in Trainz railroad simulator. Can almost do that intuitively without intellectual data. I've not created any objects for the program, I just select and arrange them.

This is a route I'm building which features a 60mm gauge, 2 foot gauge, railway which starts in a town where a standard gauge railway station is, and then heads out around some large lakes in a popular vacation area. Totally fictional. The 600mm/2ft gauge railway also stops at a large park in town.

Park is on slope between standard gauge mainline station & the lake which is at a lower elevation by about 25 meters/80 feet.

The narrow gauge line runs through a tunnel under the park. Park station is a couple hundred (maybe, I've not measured) meters/yards before the tunnel.

These scenes are set there. > The creative writer part of me says these scenes could be prompts for a number of stories when I feel more like writing again. :D

Am already imagining several stories, it is just that this body isn't good for the doing of that right now.

Building the riverside portion of the Hollenberg layout, where the this train line runs underneath the Beltway (Interstate/Expressway) which is like a natural barrier between the city's skyline and the river, similar to how The schuylkill river running adjacent to Philly's skyline mixed with the FDR drive running over a train line. The other location sets have been updated with new assets. Some Assets from SI3D have been replaced with assets from Harwick Enterpise's Hybrid IOS. This new Version is updated for Trainz 2019.

Despite the Trainz railroad simulators not being known for their graphics, I’ve been trying out TRS2019 and it’s finally almost got early PS3-level graphics. (I’m still using trees from an older version of the simulator, and I plan to replace them if I can find better ones)

For almost 4 years, I’ve been building a route of the (real-life) now-abandoned stretch of the Erie Lackawanna Railroad that ran through Indiana. It’s about 53 miles long and it’s taken years of research, finding old photos, etc. The tracks have been removed since the early ‘80s so there aren’t lots of traces of the railroad left present-day.

Anyway, my cousin’s farm was located about half a mile north of this line in one area where a small stretch of tracks was re-laid in the early ‘90s to service an oil refinery and these screenshots are in that area, but this route is supposed to take place around 1974-1975 before all that happened
