There's a mech mechanic, so curious about the mechs
She sees how the pilots are always so... exhilarated after a combat sortie
And there's this unused spare mech on the end of the hanger.
Their pilot died a few months back, horrible accident
And now that mech has been sitting alone ever since. Not enough pilots on staff.
But the mechanic goes over to it, late one night.
She has one of the training headbands in one hand, the ones trainee pilots use before they get fully integrated and synchronized with their mech.
She puts one hand on the cold, steel chassis, and quietly whispers, almost inaudible in the empty hanger.
"May I?"
And there's such a long, long silence
Until the control panel in front of her lights up a single green light.
The mechanic climbs up, up, up, and into the cockpit, hands trembling, butterflies in her stomach
She eases into the cockpit, places the headband on her head
The mech starts up, and it's like the world has lit up
The training headbands only provide maybe a fraction of what it feels like to truly pilot a mech
And even this? Is almost enough to make her head spin.
The mech slowly, perhaps a bit awkwardly, walks to the training grounds.
Perhaps some of the other staff onsite see it go. They let it.
The mech arrives at the training grounds.
Targets 3 stories tall loom in the night
Was the giant rifle always in her hand? Did she pick it up?
The mechanic isn't sure.
Her heart is pounding.
She raises the rifle, takes a moment to steady her aim
And a steel finger weighing two tons squeezes the trigger
The mechanic's brain lights up with a dizzying rush of hormones, endorphins, a thousand happy chemicals as the target is shredded by the heaviest of heavy artillery fire
And yes, she instantly cums in her coveralls.
This is how it feels?
This 1/100th simulation of actually piloting, feels this good???
The cockpit seems to get smaller, comfier around her, as if the mech is sighing in relief
The next morning, the mechanic puts in for a career change.
To pilot.

GMMTV 2024 Part 1 - Hot Tops
I did this last year, so I guess I'll do it this year too even though I'm salty like the Great Lakes in Utah about not getting JoongDunk, release dates for the remaining 2023 shows, nor Midnight Museum 2. Even though I have questions like if High School Fremeny is gonna be queer and why GMMTV is determined to make Earth seem old (Ossan's Love, really?!), there was a lot that I liked about this lineup like . . .
#1 - ON SALE Peaceful Property
I don't know if this show is a BL or not or what its name is, but I don't care. I'm gonna watch the hell out of it regardless. After enjoying New in The Warp Effect act wild, then Tay in Midnight Museum (thug tears!) be unhinged, I'm excited to see them play to those strengths in the Thai edition of one of my favorite shows, Los Espookys, because we have the rich kid who needs the help of the poor ghost hunters. It looks like a funny (and heartwarming) take on los espookys, so I'll be scared, but it has color coding which makes it a HOT TOP for me. - For the Heart
#2 - Wandee Goodday
Great was queer in Manner of Death. It was canon to me, so I followed him to Catch Me Baby where he clearly wasn't queer, but NetJames as the support were, so it was a win. So I'll be damn sure to follow this fine man on this wild adventure with Inn where he is playing an actual queer. Like he knows "he is queer and is already having casual sex with a guy" queer. It also features THOR, DRAKE and POND, while being directed by GOLF with the possibility of color coding, so who am I to argue with perfection. - For the Kinks
#3 - My Golden Blood
I don't like vampires, but I love camp, and nothing gets campier than this pilot trailer even if was unintentional. I laughed so many times during it that I'm going to treat this as a comedy whether it is or not. It had Neo and Mond while also saving some space for potential "older" vampires to show up (Papang anyone?). Fluke Gawin continues to take one for the team, yet stays winning, so thank this babygirl for his service, while Joss serves body. Amen. - For the Laughs
#4 - The Trainee
Everyone looks miserable in corporate America Thailand, which is realistic because it is soul-sucking and never-ending, but OffGun are getting to play adults AGAIN, and like I wrote last year - They are Kelly Clarkson. Even at their worst, they are better than every one else, performance-wise, and they have View, Piploy, and Sea with his beautiful side profile as supports. Because it is an office BL, I'm already rooting for it, and it features Gun crying which is only rivaled by Khaotung tearing up, meaning it's marvelous. - For the Adults
#5 - Kidnap
Both Ohms are in it with Title and a newbie, but I'm only showing up 42% for them and 58% for PAPANG! That's it! That's the reason. - For the PAPANG!
Honorable Mention - Pluto
It's really shitty of me to put a picture of the bully, played by THOR (again!), as the image for this when it is a GL, but the entire reason it isn't even ranked is because . . .
WHAT WAS IT ABOUT?!
There are twins? One gets in a car accident with her husband right after the wedding or on the way to the wedding? The other twins takes her place to figure out what happened? But falls back in love with her bestie? Or were they already in love? Or did the chick actually love the other twin? Make it make sense, Mary! All I truly understood was Thor & Baseball Bat. Everything else was confetti. - For the ???
Everything Else
As usual, I'm showing up for everything queer, so even if I'm not looking forward to them I'll watch them.
But Ossans' Love . . . really, GMMTV? *eye roll for making me sit through it again in another language*
#Peaceful property the series#Wandee Goodday#gmmtv 2024#my golden blood#the trainee#kidnap the series#pluto the series#when is part 2?#because it better have Midnight Museum 2#IT BETTER!#Hurry up and finish school Joong so I can get another series with Dunk

PILOT: To See A Familiar Face [Lookism x Transmigrated!OC]
Sypnosis: After realizing Avery was in the PTJverse, she decided to have a little fun and become more involved in the story as one would think.
OR:
In which a fangirl gets plopped into a country full of hot people, and decided to go full fangirl.
WARNINGS: None.
Chatter lingers around the classroom as certain students or friend groups go to one corner to another as they talk about numerous topics. One group was full of girls, all circled around one person’s desk, Avery Hwang.
As she humorlessly talked to her friends, her mind was in a different place. Today… She thought. Today is the day I will meet the main character of this world, or more accurately, one of the main characters of this universe, Daniel Park! The olive skin-toned girl excitedly taps her feet as she musters up the courage to finally talk to him in person.
Yes, that’s right. She’s aware of everything around her, and for the longest time too. After getting in an accident at the ripe age of 5, she remembered all of the memories from her past life and even got the nearly-the-same powers of a certain MC from Questism. Instead of giving her cards as a reward, it gives her points to put on different aspects of herself in which she can upgrade.
She got 50 points from a previous quest? Great! Now she can choose to put in any stats on her that she sees fit. Intelligence? Put 3 in there! A hobby shes never done before suddenly becomes available in the shop that requires 300 points to master? Put in 12 points in there!
This is how her life has been for the past 16 years. At some point in her life, she managed to unlock a tiny creature (which she considers to be her mascot if she had any), to talk to!
There were many stories here in the Pak Tae Jun verse she could have chosen, but she chose to be close within the story of lookism. Why?
Cuz it was more fun that way, Duh.
--------------------------------------------------------------
“Alright class, settle down!” The teacher drops his text books to his desk to gain everyone’s attention. The students quickly went to their seats to get ready for class.
“We have a new transfer student who will be joining us today. Now I know we’re halfway towards the semester, but I still expect all of you to greet them a warm welcome!” Hushed whispers were passed out and about trying to figure out who the new students might be.
“A new student?”
“At our school?”
“Is it a guy? Or a girl?”
Holy shit! This is it! Avery excitedly awaited for Daniel Park’s appearance to J high for the first time. I’ll finally get to meet him!
The teacher signals the new kid to get in to introduce himself.
“Hello. I’m Daniel Park, nice to meet all of you.” The new kid smiles to the rest of the class as everyone gapes in booth horror and amazement. Gasps and mutters are heard from everywhere in the class, much to the teacher’s disappointment.
“Gosh! Even his voice is cute!”
“Is he a trainee?”
“Look how tall he is.”
The teacher instructs Daniel to sit on the empty seat at the back as Daniel followed suit.
One girl was cleaning her classes and coincidentally put it on the exact same time as Daniel walked by. A sudden gust of wind comes whipflashing at the girl’s face, cracking her glasses. Daniel walks pass her not noticing before the girl mutters next to her seatmate.
“I bet he’s over 180cm!”
“Is he an undercover idol?”
Daniel sat down and remembered how his first day of middle school was back in his old body and school. He was so excited to open up a new chapter in his life, only to be threatened by his seatmate not to talk to him or else.
He shudders over the fear of his seatmate being the same. His eyes linger over to his left side to see his eventual demise.
“Hey, I’m Zack Lee. Nice meeting you.” The student nonchalantly responds with his hands on his pockets. Daniel’s eyes widened as he realized who he was seated next to.
“O-oh, yeah! Hi!” Daniel stuttered as he stiffly waved his hand to the mean looking raven haired boy.
It was the guy who beat me up at Central Seoul yesterday! His eyes quickly darted around the classroom only to see the dreaded brunette girl he accidentally bumped into…
Oh no. His face paled at the thought while covering half his face with his hand.
“Hi there.” His body jumped at the new voice to his right. He looked over to see a half brunette half blonde with a complicated long hair style. “My name is Avery Hwang. Welcome to our class! Hope you don’t get too spooked here…” Her lips ruptured a laugh and nudged her head towards the guys in front of their row, a bunch of tough and scary looking kids sending him daggers.
Daniel’s body shivers over the thought of being beaten up again, even in his new body. Just as he was having an internal battle within himself, a new player was added into the battle grounds. A girl was walking towards his direction after she introduced herself.
“Daniel, right? Hi! I’m Zoe.” She gives Daniel her most sweetest smile before waving a small hello. Mutters could be heard around the classroom once again, only this time it was directed to the bob cut girl.
“Zoe Park…” One grimaced.
“I knew she would do that.”
“As soon as she sees someone good-looking…”
“She’s at it again!”
“C’mon guys, let’s be positive now-“ Avery tried to save Zoe’s reputation.
Wow, she’s hot! Daniel looked at her with his mouth agape, a blush creeping up his cheeks.
Zoe feigns surprise as she points at his face. “Hey, you’ve got something on your face!” Daniel touches his face trying to look for the supposed thing. “Where?” He asks.
“A hand-some-thing! Hehe~” She giggles as the rest of the class blanches at her sorry excuse of a flirt. The girl right next to Daniel sighs in disgust while hiding her face in second-hand embarrassment.
“I knew it!”
“Just expect Zoe to come in like a damn buffalo..”
“Wish that was me frfr”
“Get a life man!”
A click of a tongue could be heard as Zack stares at Zoe with a disgusted look on his face. “Hey, Zoe. Stop flirting and sit down already. It’s annoying.” His eyes twitches an annoyance and embarrassment.
Zoe pretend to get scared as she ducks down Daniel’s desk. “Oh Zack! You’re so scary~” Zack’s gaze at her alters from cringe and gets even more furious. “Jesus! Why do you women act so weird?! Ugh, all of you are the same.” Wait! Not Mira! Mira is different! Zack looks over to Mira to apologize, only to see her blushing and staring at Daniel’s figure.
Suddenly, all his bare minimum respect for the new kid suddenly vanished away as he glares at Daniel. I hate the new transfer dickhead!
“Come on, guys! I’m not even done talking yet! Zoe, get back to your seat.” The teacher instructs to Zoe as she grumbles while walking back to her seat, a few of the kids laughing and giggling at her failed attempt.
As the teacher continues talking, Daniel is left on a sour mood as he realizes he’s done fucked up. A tap on his shoulder breaks his inner turmoil as he looks over to the girl beside him, Avery Hwang.
“Sorry you had to experience that. Zoe has a knack for trying to weed out good looking guys for god knows why, and Zack is a rather… Interesting individual.” They both look over to Zoe who’s acting all cute and pristine in class as she know has a reason to finally act properly. “Please forgive them. And don’t get shaken up too much! I’ve seen your face and its not looking so well.”
Daniel scratches his cheek before chuckling humorlessly. “Oh, yes. Of course. I don’t mean too much trouble.” His eyes goes to look at the board to distract himself from his thoughts as he thinks of a hundred ways to live his new life.
Unbeknownst to him, Avery’s honey colored eyes still lingers on his figure, her face veiled in mystery. After all, this isn’t the first time she met Daniel Park. She knew him from long ago, from a past life.
Just divided between a screen.
….
Ew this is cringe help
Decided to mix in the dialogue in the anime and in the webcomic! If I were to shift to lookism, I imagine it’s in the anime style but everyone gets to keep their original character designs, like Zoe with her bob cut and more cuter and softer look. But I’d let Mira’s appearances stay as in the anime and vasco cuz I like him tan like that ong
I decided to write a long-ish(?) pilot of a story idea I came up with! It’s noting interesting, just my oc being involved in the story. I wanted to go to a x OC approach if that’s okay! If any of you would like me to turn this into a x reader, feel free to tell!
Should I finally make a proper Chapter 1?
This is my first time publicly sharing my fanfiction so please be gentle with me in the comments-

Dissonant Constellations Chapter 2
Jill Date: July 8, 2116, Earth Standard Time: 16:43, Human Circadian Standard Location: Nondla Asteroid Belt
There were honest mistakes, and then there were fuck-ups.
Sometimes it was hard to tell the difference. Sometimes, a string of poor decisions crossed the web-thin barriers between an oopsie, a foreseeable accident, and an...oh no.
Other times, it was as if somebody had decided to do a cartwheel across those lines, through a bed of hot coals, all while somehow managing to chug tequila.
Staring out through the dual-layers of her neon-green spacesuit’s helmet, and the front window of her ambu-shuttle, Jill Hodge, Chief Recovery Expert of the First Responders Corps’ Vessel Nightingale, knew exactly how to categorize the wreckage she was slowly approaching.
An unambiguous, unadulterated Fuck-Up.
Capital F. Capital U.
There had to be drugs involved. What else could have possibly made the skipper’s pilot decide to treat a known vessel-wrecking asteroid belt like their personal obstacle course? Had they really thought they could just blast a hole through the center of an asteroid, and glide through without a scratch?
Or were they trying to follow the path made by another ship? One with better weaponry and a narrower stern, that had made a hole and slipped through with ease?
Either way, the result was the same.
From a distance, the wreckage looked a bit crude. A massive, stone fist with a single, metal finger jutting straight out, sheared of everything but the very core of the life-saving passenger capsule.
At least, that was the cleanest interpretation of what she saw.
“Can you see an airlock?” The disembodied voice of her captain, Samantha Healy, asked in Jill’s ear.
“Not a useable one,” Jill responded. “I’m petty sure the main docking port’s about twenty feet deep in that rock...and it looks like whoever designed this skipper cheaped out, and didn’t add an emergency access to the bow. We’ll have to go through the hull.”
“Gotcha. I’ll log the breach. Your team’s good to go whenever you’re ready.”
“Ready now. Heading in.”
Their mission was simple: breach the hull without depressurizing the damaged ship, extract anyone they found once inside, and bring them back to the Nightingale for treatment and debriefing.
But all that relied on Jill’s careful navigation.
And for the damn skip to stop moving.
For some ungodly reason, it appeared the captain of the rapidly-spinning obscenity in front of her kept trying to rev the engines. As if, at this point, that could had even a remote chance of dislodging the finger from the fist.
“Sam, can you tell the captain of this wreck to hold still?”
“Already have. Hamid’s repeating it on a loop. We’re not sure if they can’t hear us, or if we’re being ignored. Either way, use extreme caution.”
Jill suppressed a groan.
The Coalition needed to up the regulations on private skipper licenses. Every rich jackass in friendly space thought they could fly the things, and very few actually knew what they were doing. Jill hadn’t joined the First Responders Corps to scrape trust funds off viewscreens.
But she didn’t get to choose her patients.
Or their condition.
Finally, after some expert maneuvering that there should’ve been some kind of trophy for, Jill made a solid contact. She then extended the ambu-shuttle’s emergency breach shielding to seal the location she’d chosen for her team’s entry point, and quickly pressurized the area.
She hoped the Nightingale got a good shot of the procedure. It was rare for an ambu-shuttle to need to land directly on the passenger capsule; especially one that wouldn’t stop moving. Odds were, it would make for a good training video.
Given the shape of the wreck, it would definitely keep any trainee’s attention.
Jill glanced back at the other members of her rescue team: Arden, Moe, Tiffany, and Xivis. “You all ready?”
Nods from Arden, Moe and Tif. An affirmative gesticulation of tentacles from Xivis.
She knew they would be. They were a good team.
“Alright,” Jill nodded as she triple-checked the seal and switched off a safety lock. “Seal confirmed. Pressurizing complete. Breach airlock retracting in three…two…one…”
She pressed a button, and the wide airlock in the floor near the back of the ship retracted.
Tiffany hopped down into the void with a plasma-saw, and quickly went to work cutting through the vessel’s thick inner hull.
Out of experience and caution, Jill took a moment to triple-check that her environmental suit’s seals were still intact. Recovery experts were required to put their suits on before boarding the ambu-shuttle, but mistakes happened.
Best not to let them become fuck-ups.
“We lucked out,” There was a little echo as Tiffany’s voice repeated itself a half-second later through the speakers. “Our breach went through a wall. It’ll just be a scuttle to the left before their artificial gravity kicks in, if it’s still working.”
“Thanks Tiff,” Jill smirked. Coming in through the wall or ceiling always reduced the chance of accidentally cutting through a main system in the process. Most ships tried to pack those systems into the floor...as long as they followed regulations.
As usual, they left Arden in the shuttle to watch for signs that they were going to disconnect from the hull. It was unlikely, given that the shuttle’s retractable, auto-welding breach clamps…but it had happened before.
After one last check-in with Sam, Jill and the team carefully slid into the breach.
The medic’s boots touched down in a corridor illuminated only by the dim blue light of bioluminescent algae canisters embedded in the walls and ceiling. The medic couldn’t help but be relieved by the faint glow: the modified strain encapsulated in Coalition-designed spacefaring vessels was engineered to fluoresce bright pink in the presence of certain kinds of radiation. Although Jill had confidence in the accuracy of her suit’s geiger counter, the swirling blues were always reassuring.
Plus, it was a good supplement to her suit’s built-in lights.
The RapidScan in her visor detected two Human-sized signatures down the corridor to their left, which matched up with the location of the bridge on a standard skipper’s passenger capsule.
No other signs of life.
Jill hoped that wasn’t a tragedy.
She led her team down the long corridor, listening carefully for signs that the groans and shudders of the mangled vessel were beginning to morph into something far more dangerous.
Fortunately, they made it to the bridge without the ship imploding on them. That was never fun.
“Is the video feed still holding up, Sam?”
“Affirmative. Your headset’s clear as day. I’ll let you know if that changes.”
“Thanks.”
Soon, a bulkhead blocked the medics’ path. With a nod from Jill, Moe stepped forward, and placed a small disk against the metal. A light on it flashed red for a few moments; then flicked to solid green.
Atmospheric pressure confirmed, Jill waited for Moe to pry the disk away and step back; then pressed the “open button to the right of the door.
It slid smoothly aside, revealing a room enveloped in darkness, moans and cursing.
Jill looked around at her team, waited for another nod from each Human, and a tentacle-shudder from Xivis, before heading inside.
To her immediate relief, there weren’t any people-smears. Given the exterior of the ship, that had been a real possibility.
There were, however, two people inside, just as the RapidScan had promised: one strapped firmly into a passenger seat; another seated in the pilot’s seat; swearing at the main control console.
The passenger looked up as they entered, and a pained, but relieved grin spread across their face.
The pilot didn’t seem to notice. But they were still pushing buttons.
Jill signaled Xivis to head towards the person in the chair, and for Tiffany to find an open terminal. They needed to access the passenger logs before they disengaged. She had no intention of leaving anyone in this wreck while they towed it to the nearest space station. Too big a risk.
She and Moe headed for the pilot; stopped well out arm’s reach, just in case they tried to throw a punch.
The figure didn’t look armed, which was far from a small blessing. First Responder’s environmental suits had a decent layer of body armor built in, but there was never a guarantee that it would be enough against some of the weirder weapons people liked to pack. Better when they could avoid tempting fate.
“Hello,” Jill called out.
The figure jolted, and spun around in the chair as if they’d just realized there were other people on the ship.
Pretty rich, given that Jill could see the “HULL BREACH” alert their entry had caused flashing in bright red letters on one of the screens to the person’s right.
But Jill only had a moment to register all of that, before she recognized the man at the controls.
Given the disembodied curse that popped into her ear, Jill was fairly certain her captain did as well.
There hadn’t been any visible identifying markers on the outside, and the automated distress signal hadn’t given out a callsign. Now Jill knew why.
“Senator Plyler,” Jill said loudly and clearly. “Are you alright?”
“Took you long enough!” The man had a cut on his forehead; when he turned back to the controls, Jill noticed that his right leg dragged limply along. “Save me the lecture about running off without my security team: a man’s got the right to some privacy. Now help me get this ship out of of this damn rock.”
...Did the man not really not recognize the large, bright-red rod and serpent emblazoned across the chest of her neon-green environmental suit? The Responders made it conspicuous for a reason.
“We’re not your private security, sir,” she kept her voice as respectful as she could. “We’re from the First Responders’ Corps. My name’s Jill. Were there only two people aboard––”
“How did you beat my security team here?”
“I don’t know,” though Jill had a feeling a lot of people were going to end up getting fired after this. Sucked to be them. “But I need you to power down the engines.”
The senator grunted a negative; turned back to the controls. “I can wiggle her out.”
...Seriously?
“Your ship’s totaled, sir,” Jill watched him sway. “And you’re not looking much better. Please step away from the controls, and let us help you.”
“’M fine,” he slurred, and swiveled his chair around again. “This isn’t my first crash, you know.”
Oh sure. Just keep digging.
“Okay,” Jill nodded. “But I still need you to come with me. Your ship’s environmental controls are failing, and––”
“They’re fine too. I just rerouted the power to the engines.”
The medic stared. “That’s not going to help. Your engines are––”
“Don’t tell me how to run my ship!” The man spun to face her; rose; took a few stumbling steps in her direction as he spoke. “I just finished a month-long refresher course on proper flight operations, so I know what I’m...”
His eyes rolled back, and he collapsed.
Jill rushed over to catch him, but the man wasn’t exactly light. She managed to guide his fall enough to keep his head from smacking anything, which was far better than nothing.
“Welp,” Jill shrugged. “Can I get a hand, Moe?”
The man pulled a collapsable stretcher out from his suit’s back compartment, and helped Jill maneuver their patient into place.
Once they had the stretcher’s anti-grav activated and lifted to waist-height, she and Moe divvied up their triage scans.
“Definitely a concussion,” Moe told her as his scanner hovered over the senator’s head. “But it’s a mild one. Also an astonishing amount of alcohol. And something the scanner doesn’t recognize. New stuff. Fun. From the extent of the concussion, I think the loss of consciousness is down to the drugs.”
“That, and blinding pain,” Jill noted as she read from her own scanner. “I’m seeing fractures in his right tibia and fibula, and his right radius and ulna are completely shattered. Also a good handful of ribs. I don’t care how high he is, there was no chance he was walking out of here.”
“I don’t feel comfortable giving him pain meds,” Moe noted.
Jill nodded in agreement. “That’ll have to wait until he’s up on the ship. Let the infirmary do bloodwork to make sure whatever drug he took won’t interact...For now, splint him up, strap him in. Don’t give him any wiggle room.”
As Moe got to work making sure the senator wouldn’t be able to hurt himself even more on the way back to the Nightingale, Jill turned to check in with Xivis on their other patient.
The Noviiiaun medic had already gotten his patient laid out on another stretcher.
“How are they?” Jill asked.
As she approached and got a better look at the patient’s face, a flash of a news conference flicked through the medic’s mind; the name of an activist Plyler had been working with on loosening terraforming regulations clicked into place. The woman on the stretcher had pain lines etched into her face, but thankfully, she was conscious, and seemed to be aware of her surroundings.
“Broken collar bone,” the bubbles and clicks of Xivis’ language were translated by Jill’s earpiece. “And a couple ribs too, one displaced. But she’s stable. Looks like the dampening seatbelt did its job.”
Which all but confirmed Jill’s suspicion that the senator had not been wearing his.
“Good,” Jill nodded. “Anything in her system?”
“Just what I gave her for the pain. There wasn’t anything before that.”
And if that didn’t paint a bigger picture.
“Good,” Jill repeated; then focused on the patient. “Ms. Hill, we’re going to get you out of here. But first we need to know: are there any other passengers?”
“It was just me and Ron,” she said stiffly. “He wanted to test drive his new toy, before showing off to his friends. He invited me along. I...I didn’t know he was going to...”
Jill edited out her first reaction. “Thank you, Ms. Hill. Xivis is going to bring you to our shuttle. From there, we’ll have you up to the Nightingale in just a few minutes. Please don’t try to get off the stretcher.”
That got her a fraction of a nod, so Jill made one more trip across the room; over to Tiffany.
“Tiff, can you power down the engines? Leave life-support on, and nothing else.”
“Already on it,” Tiffany crossed to the main control panel, and within moments, Jill heard and felt the groaning vessel begin to settle. “I’ve downloaded a copy of the ship’s blackbox, and triple-checked the last boarding scans. There were only two people aboard when the crash happened.”
A little tension drained out of Jill’s shoulders at that final confirmation. “Alright, then let’s get out of here.”
The trip back through the sleeping ship was blessedly event-free. Senator Plyler’s eyes fluttered a few times, but he didn’t come to. It wasn’t exactly a good thing, but his pulse was steady and his airway was clear, so they’d deal with the rest back on the Nightingale.
Once everyone was back in the ambu-shuttle, Tiffany collected a heavy, clinking bag from the shuttle’s mesh-lined storage shelves, and hopped down in the hole.
“Heading your way in five minutes, Sam.” Jill said into her mic as she heard sparks from Tiffany’s welding torch. “Finishing the uncoupling procedures now.”
“Thanks, Jill. Doctors Vond and Tehs are making final preparations as we speak. Based on the readings transmitted from your scanners, Vond will take point on the Senator.”
Jill smirked. “Sounds like a good plan.”
It was hard to remember the time when Jill didn’t trust Doctor Vond. A captain pulling an old college friend onto her ship’s crew was the kind of nepotistic tossup that usually landed on the ‘fuck up’ side of the coin. And rumors always flew when somebody with a history like Vond’s hopped back into spacefaring missions like nothing had ever happened.
But after seeing the guy in action for over three years, the medic had found the trauma surgeon to be kind, adaptable, and with an eye for detail that routinely saved patient’s lives. She’d even put in a glowing note for him when he went for his promotion. Given whatever weird junk was flowing through the Senator’s veins, Vond would’ve been Jill’s first pick too.
“Why aren’t we moving?” Ms. Hill asked quietly. Her voice was a bit stronger; Jill guessed the pain meds were helping with that.
“We need to re-seal the hull first,” Jill explained with a patient smile. “If we undock without sealing up the hole we made, the depressurization of your ship will send us careening through space like a popped wine cork. And resealing also makes it safer to tow.”
“Just leave it here,” the senator’s slurred voice startled the medic. When the hell did he wake up? “It’s a useless bucket of bolts. Why did I waste my money on something that can’t even do a proper barrel roll?”
Jill heard Sam snort in her earpiece.
“Sir, we can’t leave it.” Jill told him. “This area’s known for scavengers, and the Coalition Guard’s transit investigating division will want the ship intact for their investigation––”
“INVESTIGATION?!?” Senator Plyler jerked against his restraints, still seemingly not feeling the deep pain he should’ve been in. “Don’t you know who I am?”
Okay, he was going there.
Time for the ‘fuck-you’ smile. “Yes, Senator, I do.”
“Then you know there can’t be an investigation. Don’t you know what that will do to me? To my movement?”
“Not my problem, sir.”
Now that sent the senator ranting, but Jill was able to tune him out. Not her first antagonistic patient, and it wouldn’t be her last. At least they’d managed to strap this one down before he could hurt anybody else. She focused instead on making sure Tiffany got back inside the ship safely, and then navigating them away from Plyler’s obscene monument to his own ego, and back to the Nightingale. As long as his vitals remained steady for the trip, the senator could complain till he was blue in the face for all Jill cared.
Docking on the Nightingale was a cakewalk, and it was only a quick glide through the quarantine and decontamination room, then down the main corridor from the docking bay to the main infirmary.
As one would expect for a ships whose whole purpose was to act as a floating, portable hospital, the Nightingale had an infirmary larger than their docking bay.
It was not, however, the one they used on a day-to-day basis. Patients, strangely enough, didn’t like feeling like a tiny dot in a massive field hospital, so the Nightingale’s main infirmary for any emergency with only a handful of patients was a cozy clinic with three ORs, five patient rooms, a clinical lab, and a sizable med room stocked with enough medications and equipment to treat a small city. All opening out into a combo triage/waiting room with sections that could be coordinated off on an as-needed basis.
Even that was way, way more than they needed most days. But it definitely made the patients feel more comfortable.
Plyler stopped ranting before they reached their destination. Whether it was because he’d tired himself out, or he was hitting another wave of whatever drug was in his system, or if the pain from his broken bones was finally starting to register, Jill wasn’t sure. Her scans could only tell her so much.
When they reached the main infirmary, Tiffany split off to go deliver the data she’d copied to the Captain; Xivis rushed Ms. Hill to the examination room to the far left, and Jill and Moe guided the senator over to the open door of OR-3, where an already masked, gloved, and ready to go Doctor Lukas Vond, stood waiting.
The man couldn’t keep an emotion to himself to save his life. Only a few inches of a pale, sun-deprived face were visible under his bright green surgical mask, but Jill could still make out the nervous concern in the corners of his perpetually-tired-looking brown eyes. He’d do fantastic once the surgery started, but he wasn’t exactly the best in liminal spaces.
Probably a good idea to lighten the mood.
Jill smirked at him; trailed behind as Moe guided their pouting patient forward, and once she was sure she was out of the senator’s eyeline, signed to Lukas: “He’s your problem now.”
The corners of Lukas’ eyes creased in awkward, slightly-amused acknowledgement; then focused on his patient as Moe brought him over. “Senator Plyler, it’s nice to meet you. I’m Doctor Vond. How are you feeling?”
Jill gave the trauma surgeon an apologetic shrug, and left to go fill out paperwork as the senator started ranting again.
Was there anything worse than an ungrateful, entitled patient?

Fighter jets collide over France
Two French pilots died after their Rafale jets crashed during a “training mission”
Two French fighter jets collided mid-air over northeastern France. The incident in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department involved two Rafale aircraft and occurred around midday on Wednesday. Both aircraft belong to the squadron stationed at the Saint-Dizier-Robinson Air Base, the army has told the press, stressing that all three officers are French nationals and not foreigners. The pilot of one jet was injured in the incident but is alive and conscious after safely ejecting. The second aircraft had an instructor and a trainee aboard. Authorities launched a search-and-rescue operation; the location was cordoned off, and fire brigades were dispatched to the scene. Rescue workers discovered extensive debris from the incident, and later on Wednesday, President Emmanuel Macron confirmed that both missing airmen were dead. ”We learn with sadness of the deaths of Captain Sebastien Mabire and Lieutenant Matthis Laurens in an air accident during a Rafale training mission,” Macron posted on X, formerly Twitter. “The nation shares the grief of their families and brothers in arms.” French authorities said it was not immediately clear what caused the collision. The military is expected to investigate and report on the incident. Earlier reports suggested that the lost aircraft might have been Mirage jets rather than Rafales.

Top Gun - Baby Mav Chapter 2: Introductions and Bets
Masterlist
That didn't go well.
Maverick sighed as he read Ice's text. He quickly sent one back.
The kid's not ready for this mission.
Ice didn't hesitate to text back.
No one is.That's why you're here.
You could have warned me.
Would you have come?
Maverick thought about his response. He struggled to think of one but came up with nothing. He tossed his phone onto his bed and lay down. His mind instantly went Rooster and Goose. It then drifted toward the last time he taught at TOPGUN and the F-18-20 flight that killed four pilots, leaving one alive.
Barely.
Nothing he did caused the accident. But nothing he did saved the pilot. They did that all on their own.
It's been over five years since he talked to Rooster. He talks to the pilot from the F-18-20 flight every day. It was easier to talk to that pilot.
Forcing himself to stop thinking about the past, he got up and went to his desk. He looked through the file the admirals gave him. As he read through the semantics and what the other admirals had started to plan, he formed a better one.
It wasn't going to be easy, but it was going to work.
* * * * *
"Attention on deck!"
Chairs scraped as the twelve trainees stood up. The two admirals walked into the room and stood in front of them. Bates and Hondo shared an uncomfortable glance.
"Morning," Bates said. "Welcome to your special training detachment. Be seated."
The trainees listened and took their seats. "I'm Admiral Bates, NAWDC commander. You're all TOPGUN graduates. The elite. The best of the best. That was yesterday. The enemy's new fifth-generation fighter has leveled the playing field. Details are few, but you can be sure we no longer possess the technical advantage. Success, now more than ever, comes down to the man or woman in the box. Half of you will make the cut. One of you will be named mission leader. The other half will remain in reserve. Your inspector is a TOPGUN graduate with real-world experience in every mission aspect you will be expected to master."
Maverick shook off his nerves as he walked into the hangar. He approached from behind so the trainees didn't see him until he walked past them.
"His exploits are legendary," Bates continued. "And he's considered to be one of the finest pilots this program has ever produced. What he has to teach you may very well mean the difference between life and death. I give you Captain Pete Mitchell. Call sign: Maverick."
Maverick walked up to the podium and faced the trainees. He forced himself not to look at Rooster.
"Good morning," he greeted. He looked at two of the trainees he met at the bar the other night and smirked. He couldn't fight it anymore and looked at Rooster. He was glaring right through him. Maverick cleared his throat when Rooster looked away.
He lifted the training manual in his hand and said, "The F-18 NATOPS. It contains everything they want you to know about your aircraft. I'm assuming you know the book inside and out."
"Damn right."
"Damn straight."
"You got it."
He smirked at the confusion on the trainees' faces and the regret on the admirals' faces as he dropped the manual into the trash.
"So does your enemy," he said simply.
"And we're off," Hondo mumbled.
"But what the enemy doesn't know," Maverick continued, "is your limits. I intend to find them, test them, push beyond. Today we'll start with what you only think you know. You show me what you're made of."
* * * * *
Maverick walked behind the trainees as they went to their planes. He couldn't take his eyes off of Rooster. Before he could stop himself, he called out to him.
"Rooster." He didn't answer.
"Bradley." He still didn't answer.
"Lieutenant Bradshaw!"
Rooster finally stopped walking and turned around. "Yes, sir."
"Let's not do it like this," Maverick sighed.
"You gonna wash me out?" Rooster challenged.
"That'll be up to you, not me."
Rooster didn't say anything. Both of them could feel the eyes of the other trainees on them but neither one of them cared.
He took a slow breath before asking a question that felt like a punch in Maverick's gut.
"Am I dismissed?"
"Bradley. . ." Maverick started but stopped himself. "Yes, Lieutenant Bradshaw. You're dismissed."
The two walked away from each other and went to their planes. One by one, they took off after Maverick's lead.
"Good morning, aviators," he said once they reached the right elevation. "This is your captain speaking. Welcome to basic fighter maneuvers. As briefed, today's exercise is dogfighting. Guns only, no missiles. We do not go below the hard deck of 5,000 feet. Working as a team, you have to shoot me down, or else."
"Or else what, sir?" Payback asked.
"Or else I shoot back. If I shoot either one of you down, you both lose."
Hangman, Phoenix, Bob, and the other trainees were back at base, listening to this. Phoenix and Bob laughed while Hangman got annoyed.
"This guy needs an ego check," he mumbled.
"We'll see to that," someone Hangman didn't know laughed.
"What say we put some skin in the game?" Payback challenged.
"What did you have in mind?" Maverick asked, knowing exactly where this was going.
"Whoever gets shot down first has to do 200 push-ups."
"Guys," Maverick sighed, pretending to sound bothered, "that's a lot of push-ups."
"They don't call it an exercise for nothing, sir," Fanboy laughed.
This was going to be too easy, Maverick thought.
"You got yourself a deal, gentlemen," Maverick said, closing his visor. "Fight's on. Let's turn and burn."
And just like that, Maverick disappeared.
"Fanboy, you see him?" Rooster asked.
"Nothing on radar up ahead," he replied. "He must be somewhere behind us."
Maverick surprised them by flying upright between their planes. He smirked when they let out surprised yells.
"Damn it!"
"What the hell?"
After a few more maneuvers, Maverick sighed. "Easy, Maverick. Let's try not to get fired on the first day.
"Tally, tally, tally! Maverick's coming in! Break left!"
"Breaking left."
"Payback, where's your wingman?" Maverick teased.
"Rooster, where are you?"
"I got your back. I'm coming. Hang in there. Hang in there."
"Hurry up, man! Hurry up!"
"Payback, break right."
"Breaking right."
While they were trying to set up, Maverick was already in place. "Rooster just saved your life, fellas. But it's gonna cost him."
"Not this time, old man."
"Don't let him get to you, Maverick," he told himself.
"Rooster, you're too low! Pull up! You're hitting the hard deck!"
"Altitude. Altidute." The automatic voice in Rooster's plane warned him.
"Oh, shit," he mumbled.
As Rooster pulled up, Maverick was there.
"That's a kill."
When they got back to base, Rooster did the 200 push-ups while Fanboy and Payback walked inside. They watched from the window, guilt eating at them.
"That should be us down there," Fanboy sighed.
"But it's not," Phoneix said. She laughed before adding, "And now you know a little something about Rooster."
Some of the other guys joked and took a picture with Rooster. But of course, Maverick shot them down. He shot down all of them.
"Say, Phoneix," Hangman sighed. "How's about we tell everybody "Bob" stands for something? Other than Robert, I mean."
"Don't take the bait, Bob," Phoenix sighed. "Want to know why we call him Hangman?"
"I got it," Hangman chuckled. "Baby on Board."
Maverick flew right through them before Phonix explained Hangman's name, cutting them all off.
"Greetings, aviators. Fight's on."
"All right, Phoenix, let's take this guy out!"
"Watch your back, Phoenix," Rooster mumbled as he listened from the base.
"Break right!" Hangman yelled.
"Breaking right."
Hangman didn't break right.
"Where's he going?!" Bob yelled.
"That's why we call him Hangman," Phoenix sighed. "He'll always hang you out to dry."
"Leaving your wingman," Maverick sighed. "There's a strategy I haven't seen in a while."
"He called you a man, Phoenix. You gonna take that?" Hangman laughed.
"So long as he doesn't call you a man," she instantly replied. "Talk to me, Bob. Where's Maverick?"
"His nose is already coming around!" Bob gasped.
"Get him off me, Hangman!" Phoenix yelled.
"For all you folks at home, this is how you bury a fossil," Hangman gloated.
"All right, Hangman," Maverick sighed, having heard enough. "Time to teach you a lesson. But first, you're out, Phoenix."
"Son of a bitch!"
He left her and instantly went after Hangman. He was mildly impressed by Hangman's talents but he knew Hangman's ego would get in the way long before he had the chance to use his talents.
It didn't matter how good Hangman was. Maverick was better.
He pulled back, instantly flying straight into the sun.
"Shit," Hangman swore. "Phoenix, I can't see him. How close am I?"
"I'm dead, dickhead."
"See you in the afterlife, Bagman," Bob added.
"Where is he? Where is he?"
Alarm.
"That's a kill."
Training went on like that. For several days. Maverick flew with each of the twelve trainees and shot every one of them down. A couple of days later, Maverick was flying against Hangman and Rooster.
"So, Rooster," Hangman asked once they reached elevation, "mind if I ask you a personal question?"
"Would it matter if I did?" Rooster sighed.
"What's the story with you and Maverick? It seems like he's got you rattled."
"That's none of your business," Rooster said instantly. "Besides, it doesn't really have anything to do with him." He cleared his throat and asked, "Now where the hell is he?"
Maverick appeared below them. "Been here the whole time."
Maverick flew around, hovering over them upside down.
"Holy shit," Hangman mumbled.
"You see me now?" Maverick asked, hovering over Rooster. "Come on, let's get it over with."
"Fight's on!" Rooster yelled.
"What is it with these two?" Hangman sighed as Maverick and Rooster circled each other while flying straight down.
"All right, you put us here. How you gonna get yourself out?" Maverick asked.
"You can bail out anytime," Rooster snapped.
"How low you want to go, Rooster?"
"I can go as low as you, sir! And that's saying something compared to you know who."
"Can't even say their call sign, can you?" Maverick challenged. His heart sank when he thought about what she would do if she knew what was going on. "What's past is past," Maverick sighed. "For all of us."
"You'd like to believe that, wouldn't you?"
"Hard deck is 5,000 feet, fellas," Hangman said. "You are running out of room."
"Altitude," Rooster's automatic voice warned him.
"Your strategy is about to run us into the ground," Maverick said. "What's your move?"
"Altitude. Altitude. Altitude. Altitude. Altitude." The voice continued to repeat before changing to "Pull up!"
The two had no choice but to pull up. Once they saved themselves, Rooster tried to get behind Maverick.
"You got it," Rooster talked to himself. "Don't think, just do."
"Come on, Rooster, you got him!" Hangman said. "Drop down and take the shot!"
"It's too low," Rooster stuttered.
When Rooster still hadn't taken the shot, Maverick knew what he had to do. "Too late," he said. "You had your chance." He pulled up, instantly getting into position. "That's a kill. Knock it off."
"Damn it!" Rooster yelled.
"Same old Rooster," Hangman chuckled. Maverick flew up next to Rooster and sighed when he saw how defeated the boy looked.
"Go see Hondo about your push-ups."
* * * * *
When Rooster got back, Hondo monitored his push-ups. Lost in angry thought, Rooster did more than 200 push-ups. When Hondo tried to get him to stop and he refused, he walked away. Finally giving up, Rooster sat down. He pulled his knees up to his chest and sighed.
"Break the hard deck, insubordination. Are you trying to get kicked out?" Phoenix asked as she walked over to him.
"Don't worry about it."
"Look," she sighed as she squatted in front of him, "I'm going on this mission. But if you get kicked out, you leave us flying with Hangman. Talk to me. What the hell was that?"
"It's complicated," Rooster snapped at her. "And it has nothing to do with you or Bob or Hangman. Just me, Maverick, and. . ."
He couldn't say the last person's name.
Phoenix had heard rumors but it wasn't until now that it was clear. "Did Maverick pull your application to the Naval Academy?"
"No," he sighed. "Someone else did. But it set me back four years."
"Then why are you taking it out on him?"
Rooster looked up at her, unable to tell her the truth. "He knew," he admitted. "He knew who did it and why."
"Let me guess, you don't know who did it and why."
"Oh, I know who," Rooster scoffed. "What I don't know is why they did it to me."
* * * * *
While Rooster was getting interviewed by Phoenix, Maverick was getting his ass chewed out by the admirals.
"The hard deck is 5,000 feet above ground level," Simpson scoffed. "A parameter is set not just for the safety of our pilots, but for the safety of their aircraft. 5,000 feet is not just a rule. It is a law, as immutable as gravity."
"The hard deck will be much lower for the mission, sir," Maverick said.
"And it will not change without my approval!" Simpson yelled. "Especially not in the middle of an exercise. And that Cobra maneuver of yours? That could've got all three of you killed. I never want to see that shit again."
"What exactly do you suppose you were teaching, Captain?" Bates asked.
"That as good as they are, sir, they still have something to learn," Maverick answered instantly.
"You are talking about the best fighter pilots on the planet, Captain," Simpson snapped again.
"And they've been told that their entire career, while they've been dropping bombs from high altitude with little to no dogfighting. The parameters of this mission call for something they have never encountered."
"Okay," Simpson cut him off, "you have less than three weeks to teach them how to fight as a team and how to strike the target."
"And how to come home," Maverick added. The two admirals were silent. Simpson sat back in his chair, studying Maverick.
"Every mission has its risk. These pilots accept that."
"I don't, sir."
Simpson couldn't take Maverick's attitude anymore. "Every morning, from this day forward, you will brief us on your instructional plans in writing. And nothing will change without my express approval."
"Including the hard deck, sir?"
"Especially the hard deck, Captain."
Maverick instantly stepped forward and placed a folder on Simpson's desk.
"What's this?"
"It's a request to lower the hard deck, sir, to practice a low-level bombing run per the mission parameters."

Revolutionizing Learning: Virtual Reality Education and Training
In the ever-evolving landscape of education and professional development, one technology has been making waves, changing the way we learn and acquire new skills: virtual reality (VR). Virtual reality education and training are transforming traditional learning methods, offering immersive and interactive experiences that enhance knowledge retention and skill development in a variety of fields.
The Power of Immersion
Virtual reality is a technology that simulates a three-dimensional environment, allowing users to interact with their surroundings through the use of a head-mounted display and handheld controllers. This immersion is what sets VR apart from traditional educational methods. It places students or trainees at the center of the action, providing an environment where they can make mistakes, learn from them, and practice until they master the skills.
For instance, in medical education, VR can replicate complex surgical procedures, allowing aspiring surgeons to practice and refine their techniques in a risk-free environment. In the field of aviation, pilots can undergo training in realistic cockpit simulators, where they learn to handle various in-flight scenarios. Such immersive experiences not only increase engagement but also improve learning outcomes.
Engaging and interactive learning
Traditional teaching methods can often be passive, making it challenging for students to stay engaged and retain information. Virtual reality education and training address this issue by offering an interactive and engaging learning environment. Students no longer passively absorb information from textbooks or lectures; they actively participate in the learning process.
Skill development and training
Beyond traditional education, virtual reality has proven invaluable in professional training. Various industries are leveraging VR to provide hands-on training that is cost-effective and risk-free. Consider the construction industry, where workers can practice operating heavy machinery at a virtual construction site, reducing the risk of accidents and equipment damage.
Accessible Learning
One of the most significant advantages of virtual reality education and training is its accessibility. As VR technology becomes more affordable and widespread, it opens up new opportunities for remote and disadvantaged learners. Students or professionals who may not have access to expensive equipment or physical training facilities can still benefit from immersive educational experiences.
Furthermore, VR can be tailored to suit individual learning needs. It allows for personalized learning paths, catering to different learning styles and paces. Teachers and trainers can monitor progress more closely and provide targeted feedback, fostering better learning outcomes.
Future Prospects
The future of virtual reality education and training looks promising. As technology continues to advance, VR experiences will become more affordable, interactive, and accessible. With continued research and innovation, VR could revolutionize the way we learn and train, making education more engaging, effective, and inclusive.
In conclusion, virtual reality education and training represent a significant step forward in the evolution of learning and skill development. By providing immersive, interactive, and accessible educational experiences, VR is transforming traditional learning methods and opening up new opportunities for students and professionals. As technology continues to mature, it holds the potential to revolutionize education and training across various domains, fostering a more engaged, skilled, and knowledgeable workforce and student population.

ESA's new astronauts include former Paralympian runner John McFall
The European Space Agency has chosen an astronaut with a physical disability for the first time, as one of six new trainees for space missions

New astronaut John McFall

The European Space Agency (ESA) has announced its newest astronauts, including the first ever astronaut with a physical disability.
John McFall, who is from the UK, had his right leg amputated after a motorcycle accident at age 19. He is a surgeon who has represented Great Britain and Northern Ireland as a Paralympic sprinter.
The other astronauts are engineer and pilot Sophie Adenot from France, aerospace engineer Pablo Álvarez Fernández from Spain, biomedical engineer Raphaël Liégeois from Belgium, doctor Marco Sieber from Switzerland and astronomer Rosemary Coogan from the UK.

“My research is in galaxy evolution, so I’ve always been interested in space and space science,” says Coogan. “This is really taking it to the next level.”
ESA also announced 11 astronauts who will enter its new astronaut reserve, which is made up of people who made it through the entire selection process, but weren’t chosen for full-time service.
“This selection was about talent and about capabilities to be a fantastic astronaut, but I’m also very proud that it happens to be a very good distribution of genders,” ESA director-general Josef Aschbacher said at a press conference on 23 November.
After announcing last year that it would be selecting new astronauts for the first time since 2008, ESA received more than 22,500 applications from 25 countries, 17,126 of which were from men and 5397 of which were from women.
There were 257 applications specifically for the role of “parastronaut”, which ESA confined to people with “lower limb deficiencies”. This was defined as either a single or double foot deficiency through the ankle or below the knee, a pronounced leg length difference or a height below 130 centimetres.
The role of parastronaut isn’t a guarantee for space flight, according to ESA, but instead is a “feasibility project” where ESA will assess spacecraft and procedural adaptations for a possible space mission.
The successful astronauts had to make it through six stages. After the initial screening, the first group of candidates went for a full day of psychological performance testing to see if they could cope with the stresses of space flight. This group was then whittled down to just over 400 people, who then went for more psychological interviews and group tests. Those who passed took medical tests and, if they passed, were invited to a final round of recruitment interviews.
“It feels as though we’ve been tested on everything imaginable really, from physics and maths skills to memory, psychology, interaction with others, medical, enthusiasm, everything I can think of,” says Coogan.
The successful applicants will undergo a year-long basic training course at ESA’s European Astronaut Centre in Cologne, Germany.
When they have finished their training, they will be assigned to missions, including stays on the International Space Station (ISS).
This training involves getting to grips with space flight, learning about systems on the ISS, survival training and spacewalking, as well as specialised skills, such as remotely operating a robot, docking with spacecraft and learning Russian.
ESA has already selected seven astronauts who will train for the Artemis mission to the moon, in which it is partnering with NASA, but if this is successful, the new astronauts could join future moon missions.

The year is 2019. At the peak of the Jaeger program's success, American trainee pilot Kagami Taiga is reassigned to the Tokyo shatterdome to undergo the final stages of his training and to be assigned a partner.
Despite his promising simulation results and impeccable training record, Kagami can't drift. He's incompatible with every trainee that's thrown at him. Before he can be abandoned as a lost cause, he meets Kuroko Tetsuya: a soft spoken and quiet former pilot who retired from the force due to an accident in the line of duty.
Though their personalities couldn't be more different, Kuroko is convinced that he and Kagami can drift – and he's willing to put in the work to prove it.
Sorting through their differences is simple in theory, but in the drift, there are no secrets – and Kuroko seems to have more than a few of his own. This time, it will have to be Kagami's turn to believe, both in himself and his partner.
Hm. On a purely hypothetical note. Would anyone wanna see a Kuroko no Basket PacRim AU fic with Kagami x Kuroko endgame?
Purely hypothetical, of course.
Unless?
#rough rough summary#there WILL be aomine angst#knb#kuroko no basket#pacific rim#knb pacific rim au#I'll keep furiously writing akakakkkkk
