I think my favorite thing about the trails series is how well it gives so much weight and reverence to the objects and ideas that are present in the story. Like in Sky FC they talk up the Arsielle so much, when really the only thing you need to set it’s existence up is it’s appearance in Ruan. But because it’s given so much narrative weight, when you are able to ride in it in SC it feels incredible, because it’s not just a fast airship, it’s the motherfucking Arsielle. Like, I know people think that these games slower pace is a downside but honestly the way that these games are paced allows for everything in the story to feel so much punchier, I think that it ends up being the biggest strength of the series.
