Wait so Martyn, Grian, Pearl, Jimmy, Lizzie, and Ariana are all siblings? Am I reading that right? The chaos that house must have been when they were young. Their poor parents.
Yep! I was debating early on not to include Lizzie and such but was like ânahhh sheâs 100% one of the siblings.â Mainly due to fact of empires s1 and such.
But yeah their parents had their hands full. Thankfully some of them werenât that chaotic as children(ignoring the fact that Martyn beheaded a guy on accident/request and they had to move and change identities for awhile-)

take a shot. ksm.
kim seungmin x fem!reader â it really shouldn't take a genius to figure out that you and your co-star didn't get along. you knew kim seungmin. you knew how life functioned despite the cameras. and you knew that it was harder to keep a good shot hidden than it was to delete a bad one.
genre/s â drama, angst, fluff, a sprinkle of comedy, actors au, enemies to lovers, slowburn âą 19.4k words
warning/s â y/n gets referred to with she/her pronouns, profanity, implied death taken lightly (humor purposes), miscommunication to too much communication, y/n easily gets into a bad headspace, inaccurate depictions of filming a movie, the angst is strong = the fluff is strong, other idols are mentioned as characters along with skz members, mentions of alcohol in a scene
note â my longest fic yet !! it also took me so long to finish this (like three weeks i believe) and there were some struggles that happened in the making of this, but it turned out to be my most favorite work ive done ever. thank you for the people who patiently waited for this since the teaser, and remember that reblogs & feedbacks are greatly appreciated 𫶠i hope you enjoy the read !!

âIâm sorry, what?â
The car remained silent despite your words of confusion. You felt as though your world had come to an extreme halt, giving you a whiplash as the buzz of the road outside continued to pierce through your ears. There was nothing else to keep your mind away from the absolute bomb of news that was just given to you; your manager had turned it down before uttering the horrid sentence that brought your untimely demise.
The car may have kept on with its task of moving forwardâbut you were stuck frozen in place.
âYouâre joking.â
Your world fell on seemingly deaf ears. The man up front, steering the wheel, rendered himself mute to your growing distress, finding the busy traffic of city life interesting enough to keep his eyes glued. But the urban chaos didnât distract you one bit from brewing a storm of gunpowder inside your throat.
And just like that, a ghost of a click was heard.
âNoâplease tell me youâre joking,â you voiced out, tone betraying your attempts at keeping things respectful. It soon came to your attention that the effort was of no use, as your manager still chose to keep his peace. âChangbin!â
The car swiveled a bit off-lane for a second before returning to its correct course. Normally, such an abrupt action by a vehicle would concern you, as you would argue that you were still much too young to suffer at the hands of a road accident, but no such thoughts even made their way into your brain. Just like how time had stopped for you, there was no time for debating over survival either. One life-or-death situation was already enough for you.
You wanted answers, and you were going to get them.
Changbin exhaled audibly from the scare he just put both of you through. His hands shook with a slight tremor, and that was all it took for him to decide that pulling over to the nearest parking area was for the best.
âDonât yell in the car like that!â You scoffed at his scolding, finding the whole situation ironic.
âOh, so you can do it all the time, but I canât?â You shot back. Changbin sighed tiredly, finally registering the extent of your agitation. "Plus, I have a perfectly good reason why Iâm yelling!â
âListen, Y/N, itâs really not that badââ
âYes, it is that bad!â The words spill out of your mouth in utter disbelief at his attempts at assurance. âIâm working with Kim Seungmin, of all people!â
âAnd thatâs why itâd be fine!â Changbin argued, running a hand through his already tousled hair. You blinked at his reply, baffled by the sheer implication.
ââHow?â
Changbin clicked his tongue at the question, finding it hard to digest just why you were so against working with the mentioned actor. With the mere sound of that actorâs name spat out of your mouth, one would think that he had somehow managed to offend your entire bloodline. But that kind of bitterness could only be achieved through a sour history, so you really couldnât empathize with your managerâs mindset either.
Even you knew that this movie would be enormously successful from the director alone. Director Han Jisungâs influence and presence in the industry were not a laughing matterâin fact, you should already be trembling in anxiety just knowing that you snagged probably the biggest role youâd ever get in your whole career. He was only around the same age as you, but the winding list of his achievements was already one for the records. And yet, here you were rethinking your contract with him even before the project started.
Just because of who you were going to be acting alongside with.
âSeungmin is a nice person,â Changbin explained gently like he was coaxing a child, intentionally ignoring the way your face scrunched up at what he said. âI did my research, ok? Everyone only has high praises for him, both on and off-set. Isnât that enough to be trusted?â
You bit your tongue to stop yourself from digging a deeper hole to lie in. The answer was noâit wasnât enough to be trusted. Now, at this point, someone wouldâve had half a mind to ask why you were so sure about your vendetta against the man. If a person was so well loved in a world where cameras were pointed at them in every waking minute, then shouldnât all the dirt be found by now, if there was any?
To that, your answer would be yet another no.
Because you knew Kim Seungmin. You knew how life functioned despite the cameras. And you knew that it was harder to keep a good shot hidden than it was to delete a bad one.
âTurn the car around.â
Changbinâs eyes almost popped out of their sockets at your demand. Surely, he had heard you now. You crossed your arms and leaned back to rest comfortably on the car seat, turning your head to face the window and glare at the world outside, continuing on with their lives like a well-followed routine.
âY/N, this is a big opportunityââ
âI said, turn the car around. Iâm not attending this cursed table reading.â You pinched the bridge of your nose to keep the incoming migraine at bay.
âYou really think Iâll willingly step into a room with the devilâs incarnate? Iâd rather get shotââ
01 : ONE.
ââsensing a great shot!â
Director Han Jisung nodded positively at your performance, satisfied with your initial portrayal of the female lead.
âIf we keep going like this, then Iâm expecting this project to be a big hit. The casting team really did their payâs worth on this one,â the young director hummed. âEspecially you, Actor Kim Seungmin. I donât know how they managed to get through your company's walls, but Iâm glad they did. Youâre perfect for the role!â
You felt your eye twitch as the figure bearing the name appeared within your vision. His mouth curled up into an arrogant smirk, hastily covered up by a bashful smile. You cringed at his actions that only you seemed to see. Why was this prick acting all humble?
âAh, I always wanted to act in one of your films, Director Han. This is more of an amazing opportunity for me than you, honestly.â
That smoothed honey voice wrapped itself around the roomâs premise, charming everyone around like it was coming from an alluring siren. All except you.
Your mouth filled with a coating of spite as his next sentence echoed through your ears. His eyes locked you in as a target, a wordless challenge shooting straight at your own.
âPlus, seeing who my co-star is, Iâm quite thrilled to see the end product,â Seungmin grinned with a manic glint.
Fuck. You shouldâve turned that damned car around yourself. Maybe then youâd be enjoying a relaxing time in the tub, surrounded by bubbling suds of fragrant soap, instead of being a frontliner in this mental war your acting counterpart seemed to subject yourselves to. Now, you had to withstand the feeling of your body instantly going on auto-pilot after his words.
It was commendable, reallyâhow Seungmin could take over a space of this size filled with various types of people so easily. He had major talent in that field, which greatly accentuated his acting power. Seungmin had a way with words, and while you would never be caught praising him out loud, you couldnât help but acknowledge the bitter truth deep inside the darkest parts of your brain. It was almost obsessive, the way your mind zeroed in on his presence. Even as you let the busy table chatter away into a buzzing noise that barely made its way coherently through your ears, your eyes stayed glued to the figure in front of you, carefully studying his mannerisms as he enthusiastically interacted with everyone. You werenât someone who Seungminâs charms would work onâinstead, you felt like prey, waiting to be pounced on any second now.
Before you knew it, the table reading came to a close. You could faintly remember standing and packing your things quietly, more focused on the sudden stinging feeling you felt coming from your eyes, already threatening to water. âThis is ridiculous,â you huffed in frustration. Why did you feel the need to cry like a child at this very moment?
âWith the way your script is being shoved in that tiny bag, yeah, I would say that too.â
âLeave me alone, Kim.â
You hear him chuckle, causing your grip on your leather bagâs opening to become tighter, feeling the metal zipper bite at your palm. âThereâs a lot of Kims here, Y/N. Be careful now; they might mistake you for being rude to them,â he chirps. Fucking chirps. Like a small bird who deserves to be doted on. Except the man before you was neither small nor deserved to be doted onâKim Seungmin would never be described in any of those words in your world.
âRight. Since theyâre also talking to me right now,â you scoffed back. Thankfully, that seemed to keep the tears at bay for now. You refused to break down in front of the most infuriating man in your life.
âStill stuck up as ever,â he sighs. Your eyes almost popped out of their sockets at his comment. You? Stuck up? If anything, that would be him! âThis would be our first piece together after that charity drama our acting academy did way back a few years ago, so would it kill you to be civil?â
Ah. There it was. The infamous acting academy.
JYP Academy of Theatrics was admittedly one of the most successful acting academies in the country, known for producing many big name acts throughout its years of operation. Every aspiring actor has probably gone through the phase of wanting to be part of the academyâs carefully limited population of traineesâyou included.
You remember the first time you brought up your plans on becoming an actress to your parents; their apprehensive faces telling you to try going to an acting academy first before giving up everything and running towards your dream blind. Young you didnât realize the underlying implication that your parents were expecting you to be discouraged and give up on your thoughts of becoming an actress for good. Instead, you aimed high with the thoughts of their support, confidently applying for JYP Academy.
To your parentsâ surprise, you passed both rounds of the screening, becoming a full-fledged acting academy trainee at one of the most prestigious places for it. It was also where you met the thorn in your life that was standing before you at the present.
âAnd frankly, Iâm looking forward to this. So can we not ruin the mood on set?â He had the nerve to add. That was all you needed for your last string of restraint to snap.
âWhy? So you could enjoy the power trip of watching me fumble around like a headless chicken after getting scolded a thousand times for my horrible acting skills?â
âWhat?â
You watched as Seungminâs face morphed from exhaustion into a look of confusion at what you had just said. However, you knew better than to give him the benefit of the doubtâso you continued to shoot your bullets at him.
âI know you, Kim Seungmin,â you motioned towards him. âDonât you dare think Iâve forgotten your days at the acting academy, especially that damned charity drama. But consider yourself lucky, since I wonât drag your ass down this time, Golden Boy. In fact, watch me shine on set even if itâs against your will or whatever is going on in that ego of yours, because I refuse to bow down to you. Things may have been different seven years ago, but Iâve grown since then. So if you want to prove to me that you have to, then know how to keep your mouth to yourself around me.â
After your little round of firing the pent-up rage inside of you, you snatched your bag from the table and stormed out of the room without another word. You had half the mind to worry if anyone had heard your little squabble with Seungmin, but you were already too far down the hall to go back and check, risking a blow to your conscience if ever you tried to go back. You only had the fact that you had managed to keep your voice surprisingly low throughout the whole exchange to console you.
With this, you continued your trek towards the parking lot to meet your manager once againâblissfully unaware of the state in which you left your co-star back in the room.
âWhat the fuck just happened?â
It took everything in Seungmin to not march after you and demand an explanation for what you had just said to him. In all honesty, Seungmin was baffled. Out of all the possible scenarios he had imagined to happen when meeting you, this was definitely not one of them. Sure, you two werenât exactly the best of friends way back in your academy years, but he had at least considered you an acquaintance.
Even then, he didnât remember your relationship being this bad. For all the times the both of you clashed heads, he couldnât recall a single time serious bad blood was developed. The memory of you laughing joyfully as he messed up a line in your shared scene together on a monthly evaluation was still fresh in his memoriesâso just where did this hostility come from? If he were to base his conclusion off your words earlier, then it must have something to do with the charity drama, and that only made Seungmin more lost.
What you said earlier did hold some truth to themâyou were scolded a lot by their advisor, slash project director, but in no way did you do badly in the production. Seungmin could testify to that. After all, he was witness to the amount of praise you got from fellow trainees as they watched you act out your scenes on camera, even though his younger counterpart was jealous of all the positive feedback. So now, he really couldnât understand where your deep-rooted bitterness towards him came from. He even gave you some tips during the times you seemingly struggled with their advisorâs vision!
âSeungmin?â
He turned over to where his name was just called, seeing his manager approach him while bowing politely towards the small number of production staff left in the room. âOh, did I take too long, Minho?â
âYeah, but itâs alright. I knew you were going to catch up with a friend,â Minho looked around for a bit before continuing, âSpeaking of which, did she go already?â Seungmin couldnât stop himself from clicking his tongue at his managerâs words.
âItâs a long story.â
Well, two can play that game. If you truly knew him like you said you did, then you would know that Kim Seungmin isnât one to give up when he sets his mind to something.
02 : TWO.
You wanted to give up right at this very moment.
Today was the first day of filming for the movie you were cast in as the female lead, yet here you were, one push away from having a mental breakdown. It was your first lead roleâone that you had wished on countless stars to get ever since signing a contract with your current agency. Yet, now that you actually have it, you were left unsure of whether your acting could do proper justice to the character given to you. The confidence you flared towards Kim Seungmin a few days ago was nowhere to be found right now as anxious thoughts swirled through your head instead.
When you first read the script as one of your managerâs proposals for your next project, you instantly felt like the female leadâs role spoke to you the most. The plot itself was a masterpiece, clearly right up Director Hanâs alley with its sentimental undertone and themes of self-discovery. It followed the male lead, returning back to his hometown for a high school reunion after just deciding to quit his job at a well-known corporation in the city. At the reunion, he meets the female lead, whom he remembers having the biggest crush on back in his teenage yearsâbefore he moved to the city for college.
In comparison, the female lead never left their homey countryside town. She attended the nearby community college and also settled her adult life in the same area. However, that didnât mean that what she had achieved was all she wanted to do in life. Like everyone else, she too, had her own dreams. Unfortunately, she lacked confidence in herself to chase opportunities and got stuck right where her starting line was.
And in a way, she spoke to you.
You didnât want to admit it, but perhaps you regret running your mouth like that at your co-star during the table read. It was a moment of weakness, you tried to tell yourself. Emotional you talked too big for what you could handle, so now you were left here to deal with the consequences of your actions.
But lies had their truths too.
It was true that you wanted to shine on setâoutshining Kim Seungmin was just an added bonus to the thought. Youâve spent far too long in othersâ shadows, never really feeling like you had the chance to show your fullest potential. That was something you fought for constantly, starting from your days at the academy up until the present, only to have no such luck. Maybe that was why you developed a habit of becoming pessimistic at the worst times, becoming your own enemy as you fall into a pit of self-sabotage, effectively going against everything youâve ever wished for yourself. It was a cycle of keeping yourself confused with your own decisions, and it was a frustrating process.
You could only stare from the actorsâ corner on the site as you watched the crew members run around making final arrangements for todayâs shoot. Normally, you wouldnât have seen this part of the process, as actors would often arrive later on when everything was nearly set, during their actual call time. You just intentionally went early, deciding that you werenât going to get any more sleep even if you tried, seeing as most of the previous night was spent trying to make sure you had your lines all perfected. Sleep came rough yesterday, and you had no one else to blame but your own nerves.
At least the set looked greatâtoday you were filming all the scenes needed for the high school reunion. The place was this quaint function hall in a small town about seven hours from the capital city, the same town you would be staying in to shoot for a little less than a week. You couldnât help but think that maybe the new environment contributed more towards your slowly diminishing confidence, feeling yourself too far away from the strong presence of individualistic urban life. A defeated sigh was all you could do in attempt to ease yourself, even the slightest.
âIâm beginning to think this is going to become a pattern,â you hear a familiar toned voice comment. âMeeting you distressed, I mean.â
You spare the figure a half-hearted glance before rolling your eyes, forcing out an appropriate greeting. Or what was appropriate in your books, anyway.
âOh, itâs you.â
Seungminâs face displayed his feelings of amusement, which in turn made your frown deepen. âNot even a good afternoon? Thatâs harsh of you, Y/N,â he says in a tone made for mockery. âYou really donât like seeing my face, huh?â
âMore like, I just donât like you, period,â you grumbled in annoyance. âAlso, why are you even here this early?â
Your surprise at his punctuality was real; you were not expecting to see him on set three hours early. But maybe you should have foreseen this behavior, seeing as the Seungmin you knew back then was also one to be on time during all lessons, activities, and practices. A part of you was then thankful for the question coming off as general because if you added any more comparisons, it wouldâve seemed like you held on to too much information on him from the past.
âJust because Iâm the main character doesnât mean I should be fashionably late. Would it tick you off to know that I like being punctual with things?â
âYeah,â was your immediate reply, not needing to think about it any further. âSince now, I have to time myself to arrive just before the call time.â
Seungmin lets out a deep sigh at your words. âYou donât want to spend any more time with me than necessary, got it.â He says, then lifting a finger up to tap against his ear. âBut you know, you should really learn to keep your plans away from enemy ears.â
You tried your best not to show the inner war that just sparked inside of your headâyou really shouldnât have found that small gesture attractive, but the romantic side in you swooned so easily against your will. And for what? Kim Seungmin, of all people? You really should tone down all the enemies-to-lovers content you were consuming, because this was the last thing you wanted to happen. Real life just doesnât play out like that.
Giving him some slack and perhaps a half-assed attempt at reverse psychology, you replied with a tired tone. âIâll agree with you on that one, so you may walk away now, Kim.â
Except that Seungmin didnât seem to catch the memo.
âSays the one who keeps talking,â he snarks at you. âFor someone who told me to keep my mouth to myself around you, youâre the one who keeps the conversation flowing.â
You rolled your eyes for the second time since starting this conversation. At this point, you were convinced that Kim Seungmin was on a mission to dislocate it. âYou just have to win everything, do you?â
âItâs my charm, I suppose.â
âAnd I disagree. The only charm you have is that mouth of yours you use to manipulate everyone around you.â
That seemed to snap something within Seungmin. âWhat the hell did I ever do to you?â He spits out furiously. âI wouldâve already sued you for defamation if you acted like this around everyone else, so you should be thankful that Iâm being tolerant of your attitude right now.â
âThankful? Why would I be thankful?â Was your baffled response. âYou know, Iâm starting to believe that you donât remember what you put me through all those years ago at all, and itâs only making me more upset that you seem to hold no remorse whatsoever.â
âIf itâs that bad, then go ahead and tell me!â Seungmin hissed in an attempt to keep his voice down and not cause a scene. âI donât have time for this roundabout game you have going on, and honestly, neither should you. We have a high-profile movie to film, and I would never let whatever this is ruin the hard work of a hundred peopleâso get your head out of your ass and either clench your teeth and save the working environment we have or be a dear and solve this issue with me right now.â
Now you were just barely containing your rage. It was at this point that you realized that Seungmin wasnât faking anything; and that made it sting a lot more in your already scarred heart. Of course, someone like him wouldnât understand why you were acting like this. Someone like him, born talented enough to be loved and praised by everyone, would never see the other side that you had to be dragged throughâthe side that existed all because of people like him, too.
âFuck you, Kim Seungmin,â you croaked out through tears. âI knew someone like you would never understand.â
And you ran.
âWhat areâY/N! Come back here!â
03 : THREE.
âY/N, where in the world even are you? You need to come back to the actorsâ tent right now!â
Changbinâs voice boomed through your phoneâs speaker a lot louder than usual, causing you to jerk it away from your ear in pain. Well, you did deserve the scoldingâafter running off to God knows where in a relatively remote town you didnât even know, you would be pissed as hell too if you were your manager. What kind of actress just leaves the set without a single thought like that?
âI swear, Y/N. Do not tell me youâre lost because Iâm pretty sure I left you somewhere safe the last time I saw you,â you hear Changbin huff on the opposite end. âI canât believe you told me that you were going to be fine on your own, and I actually trusted you. Thatâs it! Iâm not letting you wander around the set anymore from this point onwards!â
You couldnât help but find your managerâs rant funny, despite the clear threat being held above your head. âReally? Iâm telling you that itâs almost call time, and youâre just laughing. Fine, go on your own soul-searching, or whatever it is youâre doing. Iâm telling everyone you left your role to go play hookyââ
Oh, you could only wish. After your little squabble with Seungmin, playing hooky didnât sound like a bad option. Sadly, you still had a conscience that weighed on youâeven more hypersensitive to the people around it with your co-starâs earlier comment of ruining other peopleâs hard work. You hurriedly shook your head to get rid of the negative thoughts that were starting to plague your head once again, and instead focused on the group of trees that lined the path towards the entrance of the function hall.
âChangbin, Iâm fine.â
âDamn right, you should be!â He screeches one last time before calming down. âBut in all seriousness, you need to head over here now, or Director Han is going to chew me a new one. He knows my sister, and I donât want to be berated for not doing my job properly by her of all people.â
You chuckled at the competitiveness in his voice. âDonât worry, I just took a short walk for fresh air. You know how nervous I was earlier on the way to the set.â Changbin hummed in acknowledgement.
âAnd on the way to this town in general,â he teases. It didnât last long, though, since he immediately followed up on your well-being with a soft tone. âDid the walk help? I can get you some hot tea too, if you want.â
âLook at you, finally being a proper manager,â you threw back at him, snickering as offended noises started to pour out of your phone. âYeah, yeah. Iâll take you up on that tea offer. Plus, Iâm just around the corner now.â
Once you saw his figure coming into view, you hung up the call and opted to wave your right arm to catch his attention. Changbin broke out into a frantic sprint towards you the minute he saw you approaching.
âOh, thank whatever deity there is. You need to head over to the tent right now andââ He suddenly stopped mid-sentence, holding you still at arms length to give you a look of confusion as he scanned your face. âDid you cry? Why are your eyes like that?â
Shoot. You had totally forgotten about that for a second. âAh,â was all you could muster in a sheepish daze. âIt was just to let the nerves out, you know? Itâs nothing serious.â
Changbin narrowed his eyes at your excuse, making you hold your breath unintentionally. It felt as though you were being picked apart, trying to find the truth that you desperately wanted to keep hidden. Eventually, the man before you decided to let it be, sending you off with an exhausted wave.
âHm. Alright, and itâs already going away, so it mustâve just been a light session. Try to blink it out more so that itâs long gone once you step in front of the cameras.â
You silently breathed out a sigh of relief. âWill do. Thanks, Changbin.â
âStop being a sap and head over to the tent already,â he chuckles before sending you a comforting smile. âGood luck. Iâll just be here.â
A grateful look found its way onto your face as you walked briskly towards the actorsâ tent. You should really treat Changbin to dinner after all of this is over, you think to yourself, putting on your game face and entering the enclosed area with a newly steeled heart.
Now, Seungmin wasnât the type to be overly concerned with othersâ business. While he wouldnât exactly call himself an extreme individualist, he still did have an appreciation for community. You wouldnât catch him dead in the act of trying to mingle with someone elseâs issues if it had nothing to do with him. However, all that seemed to somehow fly out the window whenever it had something to do with you.
To him, you were a person qualified enough to be considered intertwined with his own life. Sure, he hadnât seen you in person for years, but that still would never be able to erase the fact that you knew him behind the cameras. Actually, even worse.
You knew the person he was before he even took up acting as a career.
Perhaps that was why he was so bothered by the way you were acting with him recently. He doesnât even recall ever being that hostile to someone since his high school days, and that alone terrified him. It was like he regressed back to the days of his youth whenever he interacted with youâand that did more harm than good. The younger him was full of teen angst that he wanted to bury deep inside the confines of his past, but the animosity you seemed to harbor personally against him made him wonder if he was truly missing important information from that era of you both.
So when he saw you walk into the tent with fading redness evident in your eyes, just right after your small fight with him earlier, he instantly felt a punch in his gut. In all honesty, he wasnât aiming to make you cryâit just so happened that the spur of the moment was so intense that he spat out things he barely meant. Sure, they still stemmed from the truth of how he felt since he did want to make amends with you, but even he wants to kick himself for the way he worded things so out of pocket. His reaction to the situation was so childish that it would be easier to think he finally went insane from the busy schedules heâs been doing than believe that what he did was a conscious decision. He was supposed to be the mature one at that moment, reaching out to fix the issue.
And yet here he was, feeling like a child in front of you.
He wanted to approach you, apologize for earlier, and maybe another one for whatever stupidity his old self did that was clearly bad enough for his mind to completely block out entirely. If you were reacting this much, it had to be at least somewhat of a traumatizing experience. Seungmin doesnât think he ever got that bad back then, but everyone had different perspectivesâand yes, young him had a tendency to be a prick. He still had friends, though, and no one ever called him in to discuss his behavior, so it wasnât like he was a bully.
Either way, he felt the need to apologizeâand maybe get an apology back, but his legs wouldnât let him. A part of him knew that if he did approach you at the moment, you might run away again, and it was almost time for the briefing. Instead, he settled on looking at you across the pop-up room, hoping that his silent sentiment was delivered.
Which it was not. At all.
If anything, it added more pressure to whatever nerves you were holding back. Seungminâs gaze was so piercing to the point that you didnât even need to turn and look to know that he had his eyes locked on you. What does he want from you now? Oh, rightâyou two would be filming your scenes together in a matter of about an hour or two. Maybe this was Seungminâs way of telling you to get your shit together while finally respecting your wishes to be left alone. Improvement is improvement, so youâd leave him alone to do his thing too.
âAll right, is everyone here?â A lean man in his mid-twenties walked in, asking everyone inside. There was another person following him, yet seemingly younger. âIt seems so. If someone you know is late, just fill them in with the details later.â
The first man lifted up a thick bind of paper, which you quickly recognized as the script. âIâm sure everyone has read their copy of this. My name is Hwang Hyunjin, and Iâm the head scriptwriter for this film. Over here to my side is Yang Jeongin, my assistant. Weâre here to give you a briefing on how this shoot will go for today since Director Han and Assistant Director Lee are busy with the filming crew as of the moment.â
So they were the ones behind the script. You felt your excitement levels increase as various questions about the storyâs making filled your headâbut you would save that for another day. Perhaps during the crew dinner after the movieâs filming was completed.
âToday, weâll be filming one of the first scenes in the movieâthe reunion. Thatâs why thereâs a lot of you are here right now, despite the story only really having a few recurring characters. Still, whatever your role is, I hope you take this opportunity with pride. All of you here will be treated as actors for as long as you stand on this set, so have the dignity of one. Whether you have lines or not, what I expect from all of you is your best, and only your best,â Head Scriptwriter Hwang emphasized.
The briefing continued on with the necessary information for the reunion scene, with detailed clarifications and stage directions. If you werenât locked in on all the information being fed to you, you wouldâve had half the mind to acknowledge how strikingly handsome the man was upfront. A few others did, though, and you couldnât really blame them. The guy could be an actor himself if he wanted to be.
âAnd I believe thatâs all for now,â Head Scriptwriter Hwang clapped his hands in satisfaction. âHair and makeup will take care of you all for about an hour and a half. I see that some of you already came prepared, so go ahead and touch up yourself if you want to. Main characters, you have your own booths,â he glances towards the stations at the end of the tent.
âYouâll be called up when needed. Actor Kim Seungmin, please get ready first since we need you for the entrance shots. That is all. Good luck.â
Head Scriptwriter Hwang bows politely to all of you before exiting the tent with Assistant Yang. With that, the battlefield begins.
You couldnât remember much of what was happening other than you being sat down in front of a well-lit mirror and letting yourself become a doll in the hands of the make-up artists. The one assigned to your hair did start a short conversation about your previous works, to which you could only thank her shyly for her support. While you werenât the most popular actress out there, you were still relatively well-known, with notable works under your belt. Seven years of experience wasnât something someone could just laugh at, after all.
On the other hand, your co-star was a famous A-lister who was most likely getting paid significantly more than you for his role in this film. You glanced a bit to your right, where Kim Seungmin was happily chatting with his hair and makeup assignees, his voice effortlessly traveling its way over to your spot.
Ever the social butterfly, that one.
âAre you excited?â The woman assigned to your hair, who you learned was named Eunha, asked. You looked at her, startled by the sudden topic change. âSorryâitâs just that you kept looking over at Actor Kim that it came to mind. He is quite the looker, isnât he?â
âOh.â
How should you even respond to that? It wasnât like you could just go around advertising your personal beef with the man when, as far as you knew, he had a clean record on his plate. That would just be a lawsuit waiting to happen. Youâd have to settle for something vague instead. âI guess,â you cringe at the evident pain in your voice.
âIâve heard from others in the industry that heâs a great guy. Youâll have a blast filming this movie with him. I know itâs a bit awkward right now, but Iâm sure youâll warm up to him soon. After all, youâre both the lead roles.â
Youâll surely have a blast, alrightâstraight to the ego.
This conversation just gave you the unfriendly reminder that you had to act all lovey-dovey with this man, and if anything, it was triggering some unpleasant memories. By memories, you meant the charity drama from your acting academy days.
Your experience with that project was interesting, to say the least.
It had all started with Seungmin winning the prize of being the dramaâs male lead after getting the top spot on the year-end evaluation for the junior level. Along with his prize came the privilege to choose who he would be acting alongside, only to surprise everyone when he chose you, a trainee who barely got recognition and wasnât even in the top ten of your level. At first, you felt honored. It was like you were finally getting acknowledged, and by the top performer, no less. So you worked hard to do your part properly, wanting to repay Seungmin for his act of kindness; only for that kindness to turn out to be a mockery of you.
The difference in skill between you two was just too wide. Your shortcomings showed far too much, and your mistakes ended up being emphasized to the point that your level advisor became endlessly frustrated with you. First, it was the scolding. The woman clearly did not appreciate you holding back the entire production, especially since it was for a cause, so she would point out every problem in your acting, which quickly took a turn after you showed barely any improvement. Eventually, your advisor started to berate youâgoing as far as constantly referring to you as the reason the drama would fail. When you tried to raise the concern with her that it was affecting you negatively, she only brushed you off with a comment about how you should know to take constructive criticism this early to succeed in the actual industry.
At eighteen years old, you could only clench your teeth and accept your fate.
Things only got worse when you overheard Seungmin talking to his friends near the vending machines after practice one dayâthe same day they were talking about you.
âDude, why did you choose Y/N to be the female lead?â One of Seungminâs friends, Yeonjun, groaned aloud. âSheâs awful at it. What? Do you like her or something?â
Seungmin only shrugged. âNot really,â he said, uninterested. âI just kept seeing her name during level advancements but never saw her doing anything to stand out. If she got this far, then I should give her a chance, no?â Yeonjun pursed his lips at the answer.
âThatâs just cruel, man. The witch has it out for her now.â
âThen she can just do better,â Seungmin chuckles, taking a sip from his soda before continuing. âNot my problem anymore. If I do my role well enough, maybe theyâll pay less attention to whatever sheâs doing.â
Beomgyu, another friend of his, scoffed. âSo, likeâyouâre basically using her to your advantage.â You watched Seungmin wave him off without a care.
âStop making it sound so bad like that,â he hums at the thought. âLetâs just say Iâm saving her the embarrassment. Like you said, it was my fault sheâs getting thrown around like this anyway,â Seungmin continues before tossing his empty can of soda in the trash.
And wow, did you feel like one after hearing that.
Starting from that point onwards, you held a dislike for Kim Seungmin. It did, however, give you enough spite to use as a driving force to do well in the charity dramaâeventually climbing up to senior level right beside Seungmin, where you two clashed for the higher ranks before graduating and starting your own careers.
Despite this, the memory of the junior project still stayed ingrained in you, never really managing to fade away like you wanted it to, causing you to struggle in your quest to succeed in the industry. The deprecating thoughts came at the worst times, making you revert back to that eighteen-year-old who kept her tears at bay as the director shouted at her for the nth time.
It was particularly the worst right now.
âCut! Bad take!â
You snapped your head towards Director Han, who looked so frustrated that he started to resemble a certain someone from the ghosts of your memories. Kim Seungmin was in front of you, his tongue poking at his cheek after hearing the comment. Right, you were at the setâshooting a scene. And you had just failed to say your next line.
âActress Y/N, you canât just keep forgetting your lines like this!â
04 : FOUR.
You really canât go on forgetting your lines like this.
âY/N.â Changbin sighs heavily. âSeriously, whatâs going on?â
It would have been amazing if the gods could hear your plea. Your wish was fairly simple, after allâto be buried six feet under at the moment. To hell with being a popular actress; you wanted nothing more than to disappear right now after that stunt you just pulled. On the first day of filming, no less.
Should you just go dig your own hole instead?
âIt wonât happen again,â you softly replied, like a child getting scolded by their mother.
Your manager could only take a deep inhale at your words. âAnd I believe you, I really do,â he says. âBut I canât just let this go like this.â
Of course, he couldnât. You would do the same thing in his shoes. Changbin was a manager for an actressâan actress who clearly canât even manage herself. Your jobâs core had a simple description, and that was to act out your lines. Lines that you had to memorize, internalize, and perform. What was the point of having seven years of experience under your belt if you couldnât even do the basics of your occupation?
âYou have to understand, Y/N. It wasnât just once, or twice, or heckânot even thrice! You had a minimum of five retakes per couple of lines, and thatâs already concerning enough for me to have to intervene. Director Han was really disappointed today, and itâs only the first filming. The only reason youâre still coming back on set tomorrow is because, at the end of the day, we managed to get good takes despite the issues. So pray tell, is something wrong?â
The humble innâs room you were staying in became devoid of sound from your lack of response, making the cicadas outside seem a lot louder than they actually were. Your sitting figure made you look small in front of the man before you, who was pacing across the room in distressed strides. In all honesty, you had nothing to say back to Changbin. As much as you trusted him like your own older brother, explaining your oh-so-stellar performance earlier would entail having to reveal your past with Kim Seungmin, which was the last thing on the list of secrets you wanted to get out. Thus, there was only one solution to your dilemma.
âCan we replace Kim Seungmin?â
Changbinâs jaw slacked. âWhatâhim again?â He laughed humorlessly, completely baffled at your request. âAnd replace, you say? Y/N, at the rate weâre going, youâre the one in danger of getting replaced!â
Okay, you shouldâve expected that. But the sting from your managerâs comment wouldnât hurt any less, even if you did.
You were well aware of all of your shortcomings as an actress. The seven years you gained in this industry clearly taught you a lot of important lessons, but those same seven years barely did anything to your ability, no matter the amount of effort you desperately poured into your career. It felt like a futile attempt at pouring into a cup that had a big hole at the bottomâknowing you could be filled to the brim with the necessary factors to succeed exponentially, yet still letting everything go down the drain.
Maybe this was the wake up call you needed to acknowledge that youâre the only one holding yourself back. And you had the slight inkling that you knew all along where this whole mess stemmed from.
âIâm sorry.â
âFor what, even?â Changbin ran a hand through his already tousled hair. âLook, if you really donât want to tell me, then fine. Iâll respect your wishes. But you canât expect me to understand where youâre coming from if I know nothing. Deal with how overbearing I could be, or I donât know, just keep that in mind.â
âI understand.â You meekly nodded. âSorry, again. Iâll do better tomorrow.â
With your vague words, Changbin eventually came to the conclusion that you werenât going to speak about the issue today. Walking towards you, he finally accepted your decision with a light pat on the head. âYou donât have to say that to me, Y/N. Maybe to the crew tomorrow. And Actor Kim Seungmin if you want. Just promise me a better performance tomorrow, and weâll be good.â
You chuckled dryly. âYes, Iâll do that.â
âAlright.â Your manager rolled his shoulders back, releasing the tension that built up from his pacing. âIâll go to my own room now. Get some good rest. You need it after what happened today,â he chuckles.
âOkay, good night.â
You plastered a small smile for him, only letting it drop completely after you heard the door shut. After that, it was just you and your mind, ready to play the most depressing thoughts all through the night to beat you down once again. However, you werenât going to fall for that today. You had already promised a better performance on filming tomorrow.
And what better ways were there to achieve both than practice until the sun rises?
Well, that surely did itâs work for you because you walked into the set the next day looking like a few years had just shaved off your lifespan. But as long as you could still function well enough to participate in the shoot, then you would consider your little sacrifice worth it.
A certain someone would beg to disagree, though.
Seungmin has never felt more concerned in his life. Just what in the world did you do all night to come out of your room looking like a literal zombie? To make matters worse, no one was even batting an eye at your less-than-ideal state! He watched you get your makeup done from across the tent with a thoughtful expression.
âIs it just me, or did Y/N get no sleep whatsoever?â
Minho cringed at Seungminâs blunt comment. âOh, you noticed it too?â He purses his lip, feeling uneasy. âI feel bad for her, but after the mishap from yesterday, I wouldnât be surprised if she stayed up all night trying to make sure it doesnât happen again. No sleep is better than no role in this industry, after all.â
Seungmin frowned at his managerâs words. That canât be right. Sure, as actors, getting roles to play was their bread and butterâbut no project was going to be worth more than their own well-being. If your condition was bad, then how were you expecting to have the proper mindset to act well? That should be simple logic.
He huffed. âIâm going to talk to her.â
Before he could even take a step forward, a strong force had already pulled him back. âStop right there, Seungmin.â His manager gripped his shoulder in warning. âI know you mean well, but please do not do anything to agitate Actress Y/N any further.â
Seungmin turns back in disbelief. âWhat are you even talking about?â
âArenât you two close? I know how you joke around when youâre comfortable, and Iâm just letting you know that this might not be the best time to do so.â
The actor narrowed his eyes at the implication being thrown his way. âYou know, youâre making me out to be a major ass right now.â Minho shrugged.
âThatâs because one wrong move, and you might as well be,â he sighs. âLook, all Iâm saying is that what she probably needs right now is support. Someone who would give her motivation to get through the shoot today.â
Seungmin deadpanned at his managerâs sudden advice. He wasnât expecting Minho, of all people, to lecture him about how to properly interact with others. âExactly?â The younger of the two raises a brow. âWhat else do you think I was going to do?â
Minho looked hesitant for a second. âYou and I both know that youâre not exactly the mostââ he trails off, making random expressive movements with his hands instead. Seungmin scoffed.
âSpit it out.â
ââMotivating. Youâre probably the least motivating person here.â
Seungmin visibly blanched at Minhoâs admittance. Truth be told, he wasnât expecting the older man to say anything particularly nice, but the actual reveal was just completely out of his radar.
Even when he was young, Seungmin never struggled with making friends. Heâs always been well-liked by the people around him, which has made him fairly popular amongst his peers. With such a positive response from a lot of people regarding him as a person, Seungmin was clearly gifted in the art of making friends. So now, being told that he lacked the skill of uplifting others greatly confused him. If that were true, then shouldnât he have had the opposite experience with socializing?
âIââ He stutters, caught off guard. âDo my social skills not prove to be enough for you?â
âThose are two completely separate things,â Minho barely managed to suppress a sneer. âSeungmin, youâre great at casual talkâthatâs no surprise. But you also have the tendency to be dense. And thatâs putting it lightly.â
âOh.â
That would make sense. A part of him also admitted that his younger counterpart did struggle with connecting to others. Yes, he had a lot of friends, but that didnât mean he saw all of them equally. As harsh as that may be, the old Seungmin had this unfathomable standard for people he could call friends, which he used as a strict criteria for judging others. He still kicks himself whenever he gets reminded of how big his high horse used to be, for no reason. Seungmin was more than willing to leave that time of his life at the back of his mind to collect dust. His life has been so much better without it, and he would do anything to maintain this satisfactory present he has carved for himself.
His manager chuckled. âWho knows, though? Maybe you could finally practice your empathy with this conversation. Youâve been around professional robots for far too long.â
âThat sounds like an insult,â Seungmin says, expressing his doubt.
âIâm just saying it as it is.â Minho patted his back twice. âNow, I already warned you enough. If you still want to talk to Actress Y/N, then go ahead. Just know that whatever comes out of that mouth of yours is completely your responsibility, and I will not cover for you if you come out of this one with a broken friendship.â
Seungmin let the words sink in.
âThere you go, all done!â Eunha exclaims, lightly pushing your hair forward to make the volume more noticeable. You gave her a thankful smile.
Eunha was someone you'd only known for two days, but she was already becoming your favorite person on set. The way she manages to lighten your mood every time made her worthy of being on the list of people you greatly appreciated, especially with how things were going for you recently. Today too, her positivity was very welcomed.
âThank you,â you say while admiring her work. âIt looks pretty today too.â
The hairstylist beamed. âOf course it should be,â she huffs in pride. âYou need to be the prettiest one here on set. After all, youâre the female lead!â
You knew she didnât mean it to be, but her words felt like little stabs to your heart. The prickly ache spread slowly, like poison that was meant to be discrete. You chuckled to offset the pain.
âRight.â
Female lead. The character you worked so hard forâonly for you to also ruin the chance with your own hands. You couldnât help but think of how ungrateful you were being, and for what? A personal grudge towards your co-star, who was being more professional about the situation than you ever tried to be? It was almost laughable how belatedly you realized that the situation was never going to be in your favor. You werenât someone looking to be pitied, so why were you hypocritically trying to paint yourself as the distressed damsel?
Eunha sent you a troubled glance as she fixed the tools on the table. âAre you alright? Iââ She sighed. âI didnât want to point it out earlier, but I guess my concern got the best of me. The bags under your eyes looked deep earlierâYerin did a great job covering them up, though! You donât worry about how youâll look on camera, but Iâm just worried about your condition.â
You sheepishly scratched your arm at being pointed out. âSorry for worrying you. I just forgot the time last night and fell asleep late. You could say I was too excited to shoot again today.â
âWell, thatâs a lie if Iâve ever heard one.â
You jumped in your chair, startled by Seungminâs voice suddenly joining the space on your side of the tent. Eunhaâs eyes gave you a silent apology before bowing to Seungmin and heading out of the tent, indicating that her task was finished. Your gaze fluttered toward your co-star, who was looking at you in a disapproving manner. It was then that you remembered his comment.
âAnd that was rude of you to disrupt a conversation that had nothing to do with you.â
Seungmin wasnât fazed by your bite. âWhy didnât you sleep?â
âI asked a question first, Kim.â You crossed your arms at being ignored. âAlso, I did sleep.â
"No, you didnât,â he pressed on. You could feel your blood pressure rise at his insistence. âEven a twenty-minute nap could do wonders. You just look horrible.â You scoffed at the insult.
âGee, thanks. Exactly what I needed to hear.â
Seungminâs eyes widened comically, and you almost laughed at the sight. Almost. He looked so guilty of what he had just said that you felt the urge to tease him as revenge.
âWait, noââ
âAn explanation isnât necessary,â you hummed. âEven if that wasnât a joke, I could really care less right now.â
Your reply made Seungmin flail his hands around like a madman. âIt was a joke. I didnât mean anything about it,â he coughs out before composing himself after realizing how silly he was acting. âSorry.â
âOk. Thank you for apologizing.â
âSure,â he trailed off. Seungmin was now unsure of what to even do.
Oddly enough, your heart warmed at his reaction. A part of you was thanking yourself for finally becoming more rational, as you thought that maybe he wasnât so bad. Sure, your past together was still rocky territory, but you had to remind yourself that time had also passed. Seven years at that. That detail took you back to the conversation you two had back at the table reading. You remember the way you hissed at him that you had changedâwhat made you assume that he couldnât do it too? Everyone was allowed to become better versions of themselves, and Kim Seungmin wasnât exempted from that. He was but another person living amongst others in this world, after all.
Changbin was right. Seungmin also deserved an apology.
âI guess I also owe you an apology,â you say softly. âAbout how Iâve been towards you the whole timeâit was immature of me. I hope we can continue to work well until the end of this project, like you said yesterday.â
âNow, this is just odd.â
Seungmin was now utterly lost. He recalls approaching you despite Minhoâs warnings, deciding that he had enough self-restraint to not screw it upâonly to end up insulting you without meaning to. But that wasnât the confusing part.
It was your reaction.
In Seungminâs experience, you werenât one to let something go like that. Even back when you both were in your senior level days at the academy, a simple jest from him would set you off into flames. The you he knew would immediately choose to chew him out, hoping that he would get burned by a rogue ember of your fury for even just attempting to speak such words. But the person in front of him right now did none of that. The you in the present simply took the accidental insult and even apologized for the ones youâve spat out over the previous days. It was a whiplash, to say the leastâjust yesterday he was still fighting to keep you in a flowing conversation. So, what was this he was witnessing?
âIs it?â You snicker. âJust think of it like winning. You were right. This is a high-profile project, and Iâm over here messing around. Iâve prepared a better performance for you all to see today, so be rest assured.â Seungmin still wasnât assured.
âY/N, are you sure youâre alrightââ
âMain characters on set!â
Damn. So thatâs how it feels for your conversation to get interrupted by someone unrelated to it. Seungmin internally acknowledged your annoyance earlier and kicked the memory of himself from a few minutes earlier.
You turned back to him, tilting your head. âWhat was that?â Seungmin refused to admit that he found the action cute.
âNo, itâs nothing,â he said, clearing his throat. âLetâs have a good shoot.â
05 : FIVE.
Okay, you do not think this was turning out to be a good shoot.
You were already regretting pulling another all-nighter the day after you got absolutely no sleep. This meant that you were already nearing 48 hours of no sleep, to which you were surprised you were still even capable of functioning. You had never gone this long without sleep, and it was both thrilling and terrifying to you at the same time.
Honestly, you were already expecting to feel lethargic after the shoot yesterday, especially after staying up the entire night to master your parts and was planning to go to sleep early to make up for it. However, after getting nothing but praise from the directors and filming crew the whole day for your stellar performance that day, you came to the conclusion that perhaps your sacrificial act was exceptionally effective. A little too effective since your manager even said that your acting became much more alive than the takes you did the previous day, despite feeling the complete opposite internally.
Now, while you normally wouldnât describe yourself as someone who was peer pressured easily, it still felt really nice for your hard work to be acknowledged after the disappointing performance you had the day before. Which also led you to your current predicamentâwoefully repeating the same magical process that helped you gain your reputation back.
âYouâre yawning an awful lot.â Seungmin raised a brow in question. âDonât tell me that all the praise you got yesterday already got to your head, and you suddenly find all this boring.â
An irked look made its way onto your face, pinching hard on Seungminâs arm. You watched in satisfaction as he yelped audibly at your damage, jerking away in reflex. âWhat the fuck, woman?â
âItâs what you get,â you say nonchalantly while shrugging. Seungmin scoffs at the response.
âJust because we have a truce now doesnât mean you can abuse me whenever you like,â he snarls. âWhat happened to the Y/N who didnât want me to talk to her unless, quote on quote, necessary?â
You cringe at the unwelcome reminder of your previous activities. âI apologized! Would you rather have me act like a total bitch again?â
âWellâno. That Y/N was a pain to deal with.â
âThen be grateful for what you have right now.â
Seungmin lets out an amused snort, crossing his arms and leaning backwards closer towards the living roomâs walls, where you two were on standby. âOh, believe me. Iâm more than grateful.â
The set right now was in a cozy cottage house, designed to imitate what the female leadâs family home would look like. You had already moved past the beginnings of the main charactersâ romance yesterday and were now heading into the development stage, where they spend more time together until they realize their feelings. A domestic scene in one characterâs home was a popular tropeâwhich was, of course, also included in the movie.
If todayâs shoot goes well, then you only have one day left in the filming process before everyone packs up to head back to the city. Not for Seungmin, though. The male lead still had to film the first part of the movie where he quit his job at the company. Youâd have to laugh at him about it on the last day.
First, you had to get through this shoot without fainting flat on your face.
It was a particularly hot day too, which made your drowsiness even worse. The rural countryside cottage didnât have an air conditioner set up, so you had to make do with fans all over the place. But that barely did anything to cool you down, as the air around the place itself was humid. At least you werenât shooting out in the sun today.
âGeez, my makeup might melt even before we start filming,â you groan. âThatâs if my head doesnât explode first.â
Seungmin chuckles. âBlame your character for being a sweater enthusiast. That outfit must be torture in this weather.â
He wasnât wrong about that. The thick baby blue cardigan you were wearing felt like a punishment to wear at the moment. It was unfortunate that you felt really cute in this get-up because you wanted to trash on it so badly.
Actually, fuck it. Comfort matters more.
âI donât understand how she does it,â you whine dramatically. âEvery scene sheâs had has her wearing some kind of version of a sweater. Does she not get hot at all?â You pull on your slightly weighted cardigan.
âI do think sheâs plenty hot enough.â Seungmin smirks, glancing at you while waiting for your reaction.
You hummed in agreement. âSheâs probably just tolerating it since it's her clothing style. Iâve had my fair share of those moments too.â
It wasnât something you could see since you were more preoccupied with watching the staff prepare for filming, but Seungminâs ears were slowly turning red. He took note of how his less than savory joke completely flew over your head, now leaving him to drown in the embarrassment of his original intentions.
Internally, he was already having a boxing match with himself. He thinks sheâs plenty hot enough? What does that even mean? You were the only image he had of the female lead since you had her role! Seungmin wanted the ground to suddenly swallow him whole at the implication.
You, on the other hand, were fighting a completely different battle. The combination of the heat and your severe lack of sleep was becoming dangerous. You could already feel a growing pounding in your head, the worldâs noise becoming more muffled by the second. It seemed like your vision wasnât affected yet, thoughâand for that, you were relieved. That meant you could still stretch yourself out until the shoot was finished. Youâd already done this once yesterday, so a second time wouldnât be that bad, right?
Wrong.
Seungminâs voice as he carried out his lines in the scene seemed so far away to you already, and it had only been an hour since the cameras started rolling. Internally, you were already sounding the sirens. Something was definitely wrongâyou donât think Seungmin was supposed to sound like he was underwater.
Your co-star seemed to notice that you were out of it too, except he couldnât exactly stop the scene as you were still conducting your parts as proficiently as you could. Director Han hasnât called a cut yet, either. So, he settled on carefully watching you for signs. You also thought you could last until the scene was overâuntil you couldnât.
The last thing you remember was a figure rushing over to you before your sight went pitch black.
âY/N!â
âCut!â
Seungmin felt his heart race as he dashed over to catch you from crashing to the ground. What was going on? You were completely fine a while ago. How did you end up fainting? Could it have been the heat? He didnât think it was going to be that bad for you since he was dealing with it pretty well. The heat wasnât exactly unbearable. So what was it?
âActor Kim Seungmin,â D.O.P. Bang called out. âWe should take her to the medic tent. Someone, call her manager.â
Seungmin had never agreed more to a suggestion in his life.
âSeungmin? Whatâsââ Minhoâs face paled in shock at the sight of your limp figure. âOh, shit. Thatâs why everyone is running around like headless chickens. Quick, letâs get her to the medics.â
Minho sped over to give the actor a helping hand on steadying you, only to be stopped. âWeâre wasting so much time.â Seungmin clicks his tongue.
Everyone could only watch as Seungmin positioned his arms on your back and behind your knees, hastily pulling you up towards him in a bridal carry and speeding away to the medicâs tent. Minhoâs jaw dropped at his talentâs actions before recovering from the shock and tailing him.
âSeungmin!â
âWhat?â Seungmin responds half-heartedly as he sets you down on the cushioned stretcher, stepping back as the medics do their job.
âYouââ Minho squeaks out. âWhat was that?â
âWhat was what?â
âThat!â He gestured towards you, still unconscious and being checked on by the medics on standby. âDid you just carry Actress Y/N?â
Seungmin ran a frustrated hand through his hair. âAnd what about it? Did I commit a crime or something? I was just helping!â
Minho was conflicted. In all the years he had been working as Seungminâs manager, the actor had never shown this much attention towards his other co-workers, despite maintaining an approachable and friendly image. Of course, that wasnât particularly a bad thingâespecially in an industry where caution towards everyone around you was basic common sense to prevent yourself from going down a road that would lead to your demise. The view was great up where it was high, but the fall was just as immense.
What Minho did acknowledge was your past with Seungmin. Because of that, he was inclined to think more about your friendship with his talent and how that played into your dynamic. Yet, over the course of the two days you two had been filming, he hasnât exactly seen the kind of relationship he was expecting. There were discrepancies in what he knew about you and Seungmin, as well as gaps in the bond his actor painted a picture of. In times like these, there were only a few reasonable explanations that Minho could think of, which made him uneasy.
Something big was coming in the futureâone that he needed to prepare for as early as now.
Hurried footsteps could be heard nearing the tent as Seungmin and Minho diverted their lines of sight towards the entrance, just in time to see a fairly muscular figure come in all frantic. âHow is she?â
Minho immediately recognized the man from a conversation he had in the personal staff area, recalling his introduction as your manager. The former bowed slightly in greeting. âManager Seo Changbin.â Seungmin felt his blood boil after seeing your managerâs late entrance.
âWhere even were you?â He asked coldly, intentionally making his tone sharp. âYou know, for her manager, you sure are practically nowhere to be found during shoots.â
Changbin splutters at the accusation. âY/N doesnât like it when I stay to watch! She says itâs pressuring!â
âSure. But itâs your job to be on standby in the event that she needs you. How come you werenât?â
âIââ
âOkay, thatâs enough.â A new face entered the space, who Seungmin quickly made out to be Assistant Director Lee. The second-in-hand gave him a disapproving look. âActor Kim Seungmin, please stop lashing out at Actress Y/Nâs manager.â
Seungmin felt like he was seconds away from committing arson. âIâm not lashing out if it's a reasonable argument!â
He felt someone grab a hold of him, forcefully pushing him down to sit. It was only then that Seungmin seemed to finally be conscious of how emotionally he had been actingâaccepting Minhoâs foresight on his actions. Assistant Director Lee, on the other hand, did not appreciate his recklessness.
âThat it is, but weâre going to need you to stay calm,â he states. âThe situation is sensitive enough as it is.â
Seungmin felt like he had no choice but to agree. He couldnât risk making an unreasonable scene in such a respected project set, and knowing you, a tension-filled tent wasnât going to be your preferred area of rest. Glancing back at your unconscious figure still being tended to, he let out a sigh to release the extra pressure in his chest.
Just what was he doing right now?
Once Assistant Director Lee saw him calm down a significant amount, he clapped to disperse the heavy silence. âGreat. Now, can someone inform us when she wakes up so we can restart the shoot?â
So much for calming down, because Seungminâs temper flared up again in an instant. âAre you kidding me?â He growled. âNo, we are not proceeding with filming today!â
âActor Kim, we donât have enough timeââ
âIâll pay for all the expenses for the extension and rescheduling of all the remaining shoots. Put all of it under my personal bank account.â
Minhoâs eyes almost popped out of their sockets in shock. âSeungmin, whatââ
âI said what I said,â Seungmin continued. âNow go do it. Both of us wonât step in front of the camera for the rest of the day.â
âYou canât just decide that for Actress Y/N,â Assistant Director Lee reasoned in disbelief.
Unluckily for him, Seungmin had already made up his mindâand when that happens, he isnât one to give up on it.
âThen weâll tell her itâs cancelled because Iâm sure as hell wonât be filming today. You canât make her act out the scenes prepared today without me.â
Assistant Director Lee was conflicted. Taking a day off so suddenly when theyâd already had everything set up was going to be such a wasteâand frankly, Director Han was already on edge about it. Granted, this wasnât the first time heâd come across this situation, and certainly wonât be the last in his time in the industry. Now, an actor telling them that theyâd pay for the cost of their demand? That one was new.
Kim Seungmin was notorious in the field for being a perfectionist, so he honestly came in here expecting him to agree with their plan. Maybe he shouldâve considered the rumors heâd heard around the set that Actor Kim and you were closer than they initially thought. With that, Assistant Director Lee could only sigh. Heâd just have to deal with Director Hanâs displeasure.
Along with being a perfectionist, Kim Seungmin was also incredibly stubborn.
âI understand,â he concedes. âIâll inform Director Han.â
Seungmin tried not to show his surprise on his face. He didnât think heâd actually get this result so easily, but it was welcomed. âThank you.â
âLet us know if you change your mind.â
âI wonât.â
Assistant Director Lee chuckled at Seungminâs firm reply before announcing his leave. The atmosphere in the tent improved as he stepped out, but awkwardness still lingered in the air. Minho dropped down to slump on a plastic chair, leaving Changbin to stand stiffly near him.
âY/N is totally gonna kill you, dude.â Minho groans, completely letting go of formalities in stress.
Seungmin had half the mind to be embarrassed by his choices. âAnd to think Iâm doing this all for her sake,â he scoffs good-naturedly before turning to your manager. âDid something happen before the shoot? She couldnât have passed out like this just because of the heat today.â
Changbin scratches at his neck. âUh, Iâm not sureââ
ââItâs exhaustion,â one of the medics spoke up. âHer body seems to be completely fatigued, as well as slightly dehydrated, but that must be the heatâs contribution. Has she not been getting enough rest?â
They watched as Changbinâs face morphed into shock, completely unsure of how that couldâve even happened. âBut she said she was going to bed early yesterday!â
Your manager was slowly getting on Seungminâs nerves. First, it was his constant absence from the set. Next, it was his blatant disregard for your well-being. The last time he checked, a manager was supposed to be aware of their talentâs condition as much as possible. Any less and it would be neglect.
He narrowed his eyes. âThe picture youâre painting for me is not a good one, Manager Seo.â
âWhat are you implying right now, Actor Kim?â Changbin pounced back, Seungminâs tone stirring negative emotions inside him.
Seungmin refused to back down. âYou know damn well.â
âKim Seungmin!â
âWatch your mouthââ
A rustling noise interrupted the three menâs small disagreement. âUgh,â you groaned in pain. âWhat in the world?â
âY/N!â Seungmin jumps up without a second thought to rush over. In the distance, Minho and Changbinâs eyes meet in mutual speculation.
âSeungmin, sorry, but please shut up.â You raise a hand to cradle your head. âMy head is pounding.â
You could vaguely make up a medic handing Seungmin some pills and a bottle of water, saying something about how you were stable enough to just need rest and hydration. The next thing you knew was feeling a hand gently take your chin to create an opening and a pill being dropped inside, along with a water bottle pressing against your lips. You gulped it down in shock.
âThe fuckââ You coughed. Another hand came up again to wipe some of the water you spilled around your mouth before you pushed it away. âKim Seungmin!â
Your co-star rolled his eyes at your dramatics. âWould it kill you to stop being so fussy?â
âNot when youâre treating me like a child!â
Changbin clears his throat, effectively stopping your bickering. âUhâIâm going to go get us lunch,â he meekly informs you two. âThe medics also already went out to get food earlier, so I think we need to get our share before itâs all gone.â
Minho nods at Changbinâs words a bit too enthusiastically for your liking. âIâll come with him. You two can talk while waiting.â
The two of you watch as your managers dash out of the tent like cartoon characters, raising a suspicious brow at their sudden change in behavior. Seungmin clicked his tongue in annoyance before turning back to you and flicking a finger at your forehead without warning. You squealed at the added pain as Seungminâs suppressed laughter filled the room.
âYou are such an asshole!â You shriek while bringing both hands to shield your forehead belatedly.
âAnd your hair looks like a nest,â he replies with a snicker.
You gave him a glare at his comment, rubbing the sore spot gently. âShit,â you whined, feeling the ache from inside your head again. âI canât believe I fainted. How long was I out? What about the shoot? Are we resuming after lunch?â
The questions you were asking him only served as Seungminâs reminder of his actions earlier, causing his mouth to run dry. Truth be told, even he was unsure of how to tell you everything that happened while you were away in dreamland. He couldnât just drop the ball at you that he made sure that the shoot had been cancelled just for you to have the rest of the day to rest up. At the same time, there was practically no other way to convince you that the cancellation wasnât your fault unless he told you the truth.
But Seungmin had already caused you enough misunderstandings to last a decadeâand he wasnât about to add another one.
âYou werenât out for long,â he told you. âIâm actually surprised you even woke up right away. The shootâs cancelled.â
He watched you pause to let the words sink in. What did he mean by the shootâs been cancelled? Wouldnât that be too costly? After all, you were literally renting a place far away from the city to shoot this movie. A shoot cancellation meant an extension, which also meant new arrangements needed to be made. You curled up into a ball, wanting to evaporate into the clouds at the heat of the sun. How much more were you going to screw up everyoneâs experience with this project?
âIs it because of me?â You muttered.
Seungmin felt something inside him break at how small you made yourself seem. This was exactly what he was trying to avoid, only to once again fail to prevent it. That one was on him, thoughâhe didnât manage to tell you right away that he was the one responsible for the shootâs cancellation. He felt the need to chase away your negative headspace as fast as possible.
âWhy do you always blame yourself first? I cancelled the shoot, so just get some more rest.â He sighs.
Your eyes snap upwards to meet his. He had got to joking. âWhat?â You ask, bewildered at the statement. âAnd they agreed? I can still continue!â
Seungmin immediately acts to lift your legs back up on the stretcher when he sees you trying to get up. He places a heavy hand on your calves to lock them in place before sending you an unamused stare. âLand a single foot out of this stretcher, and Iâll make sure the shoot gets moved to next week.â
âYou canât just do that!â Your mouth gaped open like a fish. âDo you even know how bad the cost is going to be to extend for that long?â
âIâm more than capable of shouldering the expenses.â
That single statement made your stomach drop. âYou cannot be serious,â was your horrified reaction. âSeungmin, did you pay for the extension costs?â
The man before you only shrugged, like he hadnât just dropped significant information. âWhat about it?â You blanched at his unconcerned attitude.
âWhat do you mean, what about it?â You asked, absolutely outraged. âI swear, youâve always been like this! You think you could just play around with everything around you, since you can. Why canât you take things seriously for once?â
It was Seungminâs turn to look offended. âNow, when did I ever do that?â
âThe charity drama!â You cry out. âYeah, I knew all about your little plan back then. If you acted well enough, they wouldnât pay attention to whatever mess I was making, was it? I even overheard you telling your friends you chose me to become the female lead just because you were curious about how I kept advancing levels when I barely met the standardâand there I was foolish enough to believe that you chose me for my skills!â
âIââ Seungmin stammers. âI donât remember that.â
âOf course you wouldnât,â you held back a sob, feeling emotional as you poured out your inner insecurities. âWhy would you? Someone of your caliber could go around bending things to your will, and no one would bat an eye since they would justify it with your talent. Iâm the complete opposite, Seungmin.â
Seungmin was quite alarmed, to say the least. These were your side of the storyâthe side that he never got to acknowledge. He could only watch you try to keep yourself together in front of him, clearly struggling as your emotions ran wild at the release of what seemed to be years of suppressed experiences. His body was screaming at him to move and comfort you in any way he knew how, but for the first time in his life, Seungmin was completely frozen in guilt.
âIâve lived the life below people like you. We were the ones that were always stuck in the shadows, where stepping on us became the norm. People like us were the pieces in your games of chess who couldnât even speak out in the fear of being thrown out.â You inhaled deeply before meeting his gaze. âIt was a life you would never even begin to imagine experiencing at your ability, Seungmin.â
Your words were like spears thrown at Seungminâs heart. They all rang true in his head. He would never understand what you went through because he was part of the problem. Seungmin thought back to his past, trying to recall where it all started.
He was a young child, only ten years old, when he discovered his passion for acting. His class decided to do a play for the school festival, and he got the role of the main character completely by chance through drawing lots. Young Seungmin didnât think of it too much and agreed out of obligation. It wasnât until practices started that he started to take an interest in it after receiving constant praise from his classmates and homeroom teacher. This fascination only bloomed more on the day of the festival, where he found out that performing for people could be this exhilarating.
From then on, Seungmin made it his lifelong dream to become an actor. Seeing his talent in the field, his parents supported him wholeheartedly, eventually leading to them suggesting he join an acting academy to improve. The praises didnât stop even after he joined the academyâin fact, they only doubled in frequency, making Seungmin come to the conclusion that he mustâve been some sort of prodigy. Perhaps it was due to that mindset of his that he paraded around like the world was his. To his defense, none of the adults around him saw the wrong in his behavior and even went as far as encouraging it.
It was when he graduated from the academy and started his work as a professional actor that he got humbled by all the talent around him. Everyone seemed to be on his level or greater, which completely shattered his worldview. During those times in his rookie years, he learned the importance of hard work and how much it could really make a difference. There was one time that he thought to himselfâmaybe this was the reason he felt so attracted to you.
You were the first person he ever associated with the difference that hard work brought. Seungmin first noticed you on the first day of intermediate level. He had gotten to that level first and thus kept an eye out for notable candidates from the beginner level. The thing is, he had never even heard of you or any of your performancesâso it was a complete surprise to see you climb up to intermediate level. From then on, he observed you from afar, never really approaching. To him, you seemed plain; someone who didnât even exude star quality. So eventually, he forgot all about you again.
Until he saw your name on the same paper as his, indicating that both of you would be in the same batch that got promoted to junior level.
The charity drama was another project Seungmin gained an unexpected opportunity from. With the privilege given to him as the top ranker for the year-end evaluations, he chose you as his female lead. All Seungmin wanted was to see what kind of shine you had as an actor, and he was rewarded greatly with your stellar performance after days of painful practices. When you were once again bumped up to senior level right alongside him, he was ecstatic. You had changed since the charity drama, and your aura started to take up more space in their small practice room. Seungmin wanted to get closer to you, but the two of you would only end up clashing every time. He guesses that you and him were just complete opposites in everything, down to your work ethic. He still tried to interact with you in any way he knew how, thoughâwhich led to his friends teasing him about his little crush on you.
Now, he couldnât help but think that maybe they were right.
Seungmin pulled his hand away from your calves, letting his hands fall down on his sides before bowing deeply. âIâm sorry. There would be no excuse for my actions, and itâs even worse that I have no recollection of the details when Iâve obviously affected someone. I know an apology wouldnât erase everything that has already happened, but it would be the start of my attempts to make sure it doesnât happen again. At this point, all I can ask for is your forgiveness.â
You quickly reached out to grasp his arms, trying to pull him up from his act of remorse. âGet upâoh my god. Itâs fine, Seungmin. Really. Iâve already forgiven you yesterday, honestly. My behavior also had some faults towards you, and it was unacceptable.â
âKnowing why now, I think it was more than reasonable.â
You let out a laugh at his words. âYouâre just trying to make me feel better,â you teased. âNow, I think the other crew members also deserve an apology from us.â Seungminâs face paled at the reminder. Just imagining Assistant Director Lee scolding him for his audacity earlier was sending him into early retirement.
âYeah,â he coughs. âBut can we not take back the shoot cancellation? It would be so awkward for me if we did, and you still need the rest.â
âFine, you big baby.â You pinched his cheek after seeing his childish pout. Seungmin was quick to swat your hand away, despite the burning sensation he could feel heating up his ears. âSo does this mean weâre friends?â
Even if he could feel a crack form in his heart from your innocent words, Seungmin refused to show it.
âSure. Friends.â
06 : SIX.
Being friends with Seungmin was odd.
Granted, you already got a taste of what that felt like for the two days that flew by since you two decided on a truce. However, you didnât really feel much of a change in your dynamic in those two daysânot until things took a turn after your conversation in the medic tent.
After your little heart-to-heart session, Seungmin had begun acting strangely. And by strangely, you meant becoming a complete one-eighty from the Kim Seungmin you were used to. It was almost like he was replaced by a softer, more warm-hearted version of himself. In one talk, you were suddenly subject to his endless affection, albeit still exhibiting the Kim Seungmin flare that you were comfortable with. Overall, it was just weird to think that four days ago, the two of you were fighting like cats and dogs. Now, you watched him bounce up and down as he gave himself a pep talk to prepare for the kissing scene.
âAre you that nervous?â
Seungmin flinches at your question, seemingly not expecting your voice to enter his head while he was seconds away from a meltdown. Your co-star looks at you sheepishly. âIs that bad? This is driving me insane.â
That was another thing different about Seungmin after the medic tent incident. He acted a lot more endearingly in your eyes. You faintly recall a comment you made a few days ago about how Seungmin would never be akin to a small bird who deserved to be doted on. But seeing the Seungmin in front of you right now, you might just take back your words.
Kim Seungmin had a lot more layers than you thoughtâand you found yourself wanting to uncover them all.
âIâm sure this isnât your first kiss on camera,â you snort. âJust go do it like you usually do. Act like how your character would act in the moment. You have my whole consent, anyway.â
Seungmin wanted to tell you how much you didnât understand his dilemma right now. In all fairness, even he was somewhat unsure of what was happening to him the past few days. All he did know was that he was right in what he thought during the first day of filmingâhe really did feel like he was turning younger in front of you.
It was almost embarrassing how easily he slipped into that carefree attitude around you, especially after your conversation in the medic tent. He was doing so well up until then, so what happened? Seungmin couldnât be more curious about his own actions. He did have an inkling of what it was, but he needed more proof to act on it. Seungmin couldnât risk becoming more of an idiot in your eyes. You already had too much of that experience with him during your filming yesterday, which was the rescheduled shoot of the one he demanded to pause.
That also meant that this was the last day you two had on set together before everyone packed their bags and headed back to the city. After that, it would be just him again on set to film the movieâs first scenes of his character.
Seungmin wasnât disappointed. He totally wasnât.
âWhat are you going to do if I lose control and give into my character, huh?â He argues. You stopped reading your script to give him an unamused stare.
âSeriously?â You scoffed. âIf you really must know, then I wouldnât do anything. If thatâs what the male lead feels, then the female lead just needs to reciprocate if theyâre really in love with each other. As their actors, we need to deliver those same emotions.â
You didnât get what was making Seungmin so on edge about the scene. Reviewing his past works, this certainly wouldnât be his first on-screen kiss, nor was it his first romance project as the male lead. What made you so different from his other co-stars that was making him act like a rookie?
âIf anything, I should be more nervous than you. This is actually my first kiss scene!â
âThatâs just even worse!â Seungmin whines, burying his face in his hands. âThis is gonna be terrible.â
It was then that you finally had an idea as to why Seungmin looked like he was having a mid-life crisis this early in his life.
You felt a grin creep up on your face and paste itself there. âDid you want this to be a good memory for me?â
Seungmin groans at your poking. âStop teasing me! So what if I do? Did I commit a crime, huh?â
âThe crime of stealing my heart, yes.â
âYouâre insufferable.â
âThank you,â you laugh. âI try my best.â
Seungmin mutters something beneath his breathâsomething you couldnât hear because of Director Han calling for the two of you. He watched as you skipped away, leaving him to follow in your footsteps. Seungmin smiled at the picture painted in front of him.
âI know.â
You stopped at your designated place in front of the camera, turning back to look at Seungmin beside you, who was already sweating bullets. Your hand unconsciously lifts up to wipe them off, which startles the both of you. Seungmin opens his mouth to say something but was cut off by Director Hanâs loud voice.
âAlright!â He claps. âThis is our last scene for the day before we call it a wrap! Iâm sure you two already know what it is, so all Iâll say is don't think too much about this. Enjoy it, or whatever you want to doâas long as it looks natural. Sounds good?â The two of you nod at him.
âOkay, camera starts at three,â he says, motioning towards D.O.P. Bang. âTwo, one. Action!â
You took the opportunity to appreciate the scenery around you as the camera started rolling. The scene was set on a hill with a breathtaking view of the rest of the town. Hues of orange and pink start to tint the surroundings as the sun sets in the background. It was nothing less than ethereal, and you almost envied the female lead for having this moment in her life.
âIâve always wanted to take someone here,â Seungmin says, reciting his lines. âWhen I was younger, I told myself that I was going to bring my true love here and propose. It was unfortunate that I moved awayâthis was my favorite spot in the whole world.â
You let yourself completely immerse in the situation. âPropose, huh? Iâm sure the lucky person would love it up here. Itâs so serene, like it's taking away all your stress just by being here.â
Seungmin gently grabs your hand into his, making you turn to meet his eyes. You almost gasped out of character after seeing the immense amount of love swirling in his gaze. Love looked great on him, you pointed out in your head. One day, Seungmin was going to look at someone else with the same gazeâsomeone that he loved with all his heart. A tinge of hot green jealousy burned in your stomach at the thought.
Part of you yearned for someone to look at you even just a fourth of the way Seungmin portrayed the male leadâs longing for the female lead. But for now, you had a role to fulfill. You could just lock these feelings up for later.
âDo you?â He asks. Your breath hitches at his question. âIâm not proposingâwell, not yet. But I brought you here for a similar reason.â
Seungmin reaches for your other hand, now holding both of them. âI love you so much. I know our time together hasnât been the longest, but it seems like my heart has found its way back home. Honestly, I first thought that it was just because I was back in town, but eventually I realized that I felt at home with you too.â He caresses your knuckles with his thumbs. âMaybe my heart knew where it belonged long before I did. I loved you back then, just like I love you now.â
You couldnât help but genuinely tear up at Seungminâs monologue. It was such a beautiful feeling to be loved, and you hoped that someday you could experience the same kind of love you acted with. âSo, Iâll ask you this question,â Seungmin continued.
âWill you be mine?â
âYes,â you sobbed out.
Seungmin lifts his hands to cup your crying face, bringing you closer to his own. The moment your lips connected felt so magical that you ended up leaning in more, savoring the moment with your fluttering heart. Seungmin reciprocates the act, kissing you with more emotion than he did just a second ago. His lips felt like smooth pillows, coaxing you to release all the tension you had left and restâwith him. Seungmin was being careful yet passionate at the same time, leaving you to drown in the sheer magnitude of the butterflies.
You couldnât help but love every passing second that you were lost on his lips.
When you two pulled away due to the lack of air, he kept his forehead to yours, noses touching. The soft sound of both your laughter filled the surrounding area.
âCut! Thatâs a wrap for today!â You hear everyone start cheering at Director Hanâs words. Seungmin chuckles at them as he slowly steps back, missing the way your body followed after his warmth.
âCongratulations,â he says gently. You felt your heart skip a beat. âYour first on-screen kiss, done. How did I do?â
Oh, this was going to be dangerous for your heart.
07 : SEVEN.
Thereâs been an empty feeling in your heart since yesterday that you were trying to ignore.
It was currently the day after you returned to the city. You watched the bustling streets of urban life filter through the carâs tinted windows while Changbin continued to drive you back home after a busy day in the company. Something you had never expected to happen was getting attached to the small countryside town you filmed in enough to miss it like this.
You felt it when you stepped out of the car yesterday to head back to your apartmentâthe polished concrete floors of the parking building suddenly felt foreign to you. The abundance of luxury cars was evident in the space, reminding you that you were once again in the city. It felt almost cold and lonely with the way you couldnât see the hills you got used to seeing all day long. But it would do, you think to yourself.
The city could also be warm if you wanted it to be.
âOh? I think theyâre filming the first scenes of the movie in a building around here,â Changbin pointed out from the driverâs seat. âMinho mentioned this street a day ago.â
You raised a brow at his words. âSince when did you and Seungminâs manager get so close?â
âEver since you and his talent did,â Changbin snickers.
Heat rose to your face at your managerâs teasing. It was no secret to anyone who witnessed the movieâs shoot that you and Seungmin got extremely close after the fainting incident. You were sure that his efforts to stop the filming from continuing that day was also the talk of the town with the crew members. After all, who would go so far as to pay for rescheduling costs for their co-star? Sure, you and Seungmin were friends, but the two of you were barely talking in the first few days of the project. Anyone in their right mind would find his actions out of the blueâjust like you did too.
Maybe it was just Seungminâs way of making up for all the things you both went through. At first, it made you mad at how he flaunted his blatant disregard for the people affected by his decisions. The image of younger Seungmin came to mind, triggering the part of you that still held a slight resentment for what he did before. However, you found yourself slowly changing your mind as you two apologized to the crew members for the sudden decision, promising them swift and quality scenes the next day. As Seungmin walked you back to your innâs room, you couldnât help but feel a tinge of happiness bubble in your stomach at the thought of someone caring enough to do this for you.
You watched as the evident signs of a film crew appeared in the distance, right in front of an office building. The same tents youâve come to familiarize yourself with stood strong, indicating that this was indeed filming the same movie you were working on. It was already early in the evening, so they should be wrapping up any time soon. Should you stop by and say hello?
âDo you want to stop by and visit? You donât have any schedules left for the rest of the evening,â Changbin suggests, getting ready to park near the building if you give confirmation.
Maybe you could repay Seungmin for his support over the past few days by visiting him. You smile at the thought of catching him off-guard.
âSure, why not?â
The summer air of June was starting to make itself present despite already cooling significantly due to the sun saying its goodbyes an hour or two ago. Bright lights scattered across the vast street, a mixture of car lights, building lights, and streetlights morphing into the familiar image of a city that everyone knew. You walked towards the set peacefully, effectively going under the radar with a black mask covering your face. It was just a few steps more until you reached the barricade, when a familiar voice called out your name.
âY/N?â Eunha squinted her eyes to determine if it really was you, only for you to watch them widen in surprise when her conclusion was proven correct. âOh, it is you!â
You waved as you got closer. âHi, Eunha. I saw you guys while passing by and thought Iâd give you a visit,â you say shyly. Eunha beamed at your explanation.
âThatâs so sweet of you; youâre always welcomed here!â She gives you a hug, quickly separating to drag you over the barricade. âCome on, Iâll show you to the others.â
Witnessing the set as a visitor was interesting. Despite the multiple people that greeted you on the way, it still felt as if you were an outsider with a V.I.P. pass to tour the set. Normally, you would be somewhere near the center, where the main scene was going to be shot. So staying back and watching the other crew members do their own things on the outskirts of that area was a new experience. In a way, you felt giddy like a child on a field trip.
âActress Y/N is here!â
Eunhaâs ecstatic voice traveled throughout the main area of the set, catching the attention of the directors, who had a figure you knew all too well standing right beside them. His eyes snapped up from the monitor D.O.P. Bang was showing him, eyes searching around for yours. Once he caught sight of your face, his eyes lit up.
âY/N?â
If anyone asks, you totally werenât checking him out. The clean black office suit he was wearing was incredibly flattering on his features, along with the formal brush-up the hairstylists put his hair in. You had only seen him with his hair down for the past few daysâwith his character supposedly portraying the look of someone who was comfortably back home to rest. And while that Seungmin was also objectively handsome, the way his hair was framing his face right now was stirring something more inside of you. Swallowing the feeling away, you straightened yourself.
âHi, Seungmin.â You laughed. âMissed me?â
Seungmin abandoned his post with the directors and sped towards you. âWhy are you here? Itâs getting late,â he says, worried. Seungmin lets his eyes wander behind you for a second before a frown finds its way to his face. âAnd whereâs that damned manager of yours?â You sighed at his obvious complaint.
âWhen are you going to let down on Changbin?â You say, unamused. âI swear, he means well. I came from the company, so heâs guarding the car since itâs just on hazard.â
âStillââ Seungmin tries to argue, only to be cut off by you waving your finger like he had been a bad child.
âStop that. We talked about your coddling.â
He clicks his tongue in disapproval. âMaybe Iâd stop once you actually learn how to take care of yourself.â
A series of claps interrupted the conversation you two were having. âOkay, break it up, lovebirds,â Minho says while inserting himself between you two. âItâs so nice to see you again, Actress Y/N. But we have a crew celebration dinner to attend, so Iâll borrow Seungmin first over here.â
Your co-star resists his manager, staying firmly on spot to prove a point. âWait, Iâll walk her back to her car first.â Minho gave him an odd look.
âWhat do you mean walk her back?â He questions. âSheâs attending. You just need to get changed out of that suit.â It was your turn to look confused.
âHuh?â
That was how you suddenly found yourself sitting at a long barbecue restaurant table with the other female crew members, silently listening to their energetic conversations while downing as much meat as you could. You didnât know if this was a curse or a blessing in disguise, but you would surely regret it if you didnât make the most of what was handed to you. Free food is still free food, even if it was a sponteneous invitation from the directors.
âIâm so happy we finished filming!â The woman assigned to your makeup, Yerin, said aloud. âNow it's those computer bastardsâ turn to slave away.â
You couldnât help but feel guilty for a portion of her hardships. âOnce again, I apologize for all the trouble I caused you on set.â You slightly bowed while still sitting. âHopefully, it will be better the next time we get to work together.â Yerin only waved off your apology.
âOh, pleaseâdonât be such a worrywart! Having you on set was a delight,â she squeals. âPlus, we had a blast seeing the development between you and Actor Kim Seungmin.â Eunhaâs face quickly turned into one of horror.
âYerin!â
You paled at her words. âIâm sorry, what?â
What did she mean by that? The inside of your mind turned into a battlefield at Yerinâs implication. Your eyes immediately turned to search for Changbin, feeling the need to inform him of a possible issue in the near future. In your experience in the industry, scandals always started like this. You didnât want this to affect Seungminâs career negatively, so it was always better to prepare early than late.
âDonât listen to her, Y/N,â Eunha frantically says, trying to get a hold of her co-worker. âSheâs just drunk.â
Yerin pushed her hands away, albeit weakly. âEunha, stop being such a party pooper,â she whines. âWe all know theyâre dating now. Oh, our crew has tight lips, though! We wonât sell you guys or something.â That didnât ease the panic that had already formed in your stomach.
âWeâre not dating.â
You could only watch as Yerinâs showed genuine shock at your revelation. âWait, for real?â She gasps. âThatâs too bad. You two look great together!â
âYerin, seriously!â
âSorry, Iâll just go get some fresh air.â You excused yourself as politely as you could before standing up to head out the front door.
The now-cooled air pricked at your skin, making you breathe a bit more easily than in the humid interior of the restaurant. You lowered yourself to the narrow roadâs curbside, choosing to sit down and admire the quiet neighborhoodâs lights. It felt a lot better out here than inside, making you feel guilty for not enjoying the celebration more than you should have as one of the main characters for the project.
If you had refused, it wouldâve been a bad look. You didnât have a schedule for the night to use as a reason, and lying to the people who gave you the opportunity to work on your biggest project yet was out of the question. At the same time, you think of what you wouldâve been doing instead if you had said no to their dinner offer. Laying down in your apartment while eating takeout wasnât such a bad scene. The sliding of the aged wooden door brought you out of your thoughts.
âSee? Just what I said,â a monotonous voice pointed out. âNo self-preservation skills whatsoever.â
You rolled your eyes at the comment. âItâs just the outside of a family-owned barbecue establishment, Seungmin. Thereâs practically no one out here at this time.â
âDoes that not make it worse?â He gave you a look of disapproval, crouching down slowly to join you on the curbside. âYou have a knack for making people worry, do you?â
âThen stop worrying!â You snappedâhis words reminding you of the situation you had just fled from to find peace.
Seungmin raised his hands in surrender. âWoah,â he exclaims. âAlright, something is clearly wrong. Talk to me.â
You could only turn away, feeling yourself unable to face him. It was an awkward subject to bring up, and you told yourself that Yerin had already promised that the crew was tight-lipped. Objectively, there was nothing more left for you to worry about. Subjectively, the implication bothered you. Seungmin furrowed his eyebrows at your reaction.
âHey,â he calls out softly. âDid someone say something to you back there? You know I can beat them up, right?â
You grimaced at his attempts to comfort you. âYouâre so violent,â you frowned. âWhat if it was a woman?â
âOh, then Iâm out of that. Sorry.â
âSo full of shit, thatâs what you are.â
Seungmin chuckled. âAnd that I am,â he replies, amused. âBut seriously, Iâm all ears if you want.â
A bitter taste announced its presence on your tongue, your mind forming a whirlpool of thoughts once again. âWhy? Since weâre friends?â You spat out.
The space around you turned silent with Seungminâs lack of response. You fought the urge to give him a discrete glance, just to see the damage you created. It took a few more seconds of the evening breeze being the only one talking between you two before Seungmin eventually spoke up.
âIâll let you in on a secret,â he says in a low voice while running a hand through his hair to pull it back. His hairstyle from earlier was long gone, leaving you to wonder how he got rid of the hairspray so easily. âI actually donât like that weâre friends.â
He watched as you deflated rapidly at his confession.
âNot in that way!â Seungmin splutters. âItâs just that Iâugh.â He brought up a palm to rub across his face.
Now, you were lost. The path of where the conversation was going became lost to you, making you stand in uncharted territory. Seungmin stayed silent for a few more seconds, trying to collect his thoughts. You let him have the time.
âYou might curse at me for this or even put a distance between ourselves. But since this is our last day seeing each other on set until the movieâs release, Iâll take the chance now before I end up regretting I didnât.â
âSeungmin, whatââ
âThe thought of staying just friends with you has been bothering me for a while now. It was like I was subjecting myself to my own personalized torture, where I couldnât get away even if I tried. Iâm still not sure what this entirely means for meâfor us, but what I know is that platonic would never satisfy me at this rate.â He purses his lips, contemplating how to continue.
Eventually, Seungmin raised his head slightly to meet your eyes. âItâs odd. Admittedly, Iâve had my fair share of romantic relationships in the past, yet none of them could compare to what I was feeling now. At first, I thought it was just an obsession with you. Something that stemmed from my previous interest in you back at our senior level of academyââ
âYou had a what?â
âI know,â he laughs humorlessly. âMy friends used to tease me that I had a crush; that was why I was bothering you so much. Back then, I just brushed them off as jokes, telling them I only saw you as a rival. Well, look where that ended up.â
You were frozen in shock at his confession. âSeungmin,â you start. âI donât know what to say.â He shakes his head.
âYou donât have to. Just let me have this moment to pour everything out,â he says. âY/N, to put it into words, I feel at ease when Iâm with you. At the same time, it always felt as if I was constantly worried about when it would end. That I would be left on my own again once you had finished your business with me. I tried to reason with myself, to put an acceptable distance between us in the case that what I had wasnât the best for you. But I couldnât do it, Y/N. Every time your voice entered my ears, it was like becoming a child. Unable to control their emotions and doing things without a second thought just because it felt like the right thing to do at the moment.â Seungmin looks up to the sky.
âThat kiss we hadâI think it was the happiest Iâve been in a while. It might have been just a job to you, because you could say it really was, but for me, it was finally a chance to express everything I had been holding back for the past few days. All I want you to remember is that nothing from that act was faked,â he exhales. âI really donât think this is something you feel for a friend, soââ
âLetâs see where this takes us.â
ââWhat?â
âIâm not sure how you expect me to top what you just told me, but Iâll try with my own words.â You teased him with a genuine smile. âSeungmin, I feel strikingly similar to what you feel about me. Just maybe not as intensely yet.â
You let yourself move at the need to cup his face as he continues to look at you in shock. âIâm sure you already know that I spent quite a long time hating your guts, so the fact that I even started to feel an attraction towards you was shocking, to say the least. I was never one to believe in fictional tropes, despite my lifelong yearning to experience a love like that even once. As an actor, Iâve made a career out of acting those scenes out for people to see. But also as an actor, I knew more than anyone else how much real life would never be able to compare to the scripts Iâve seen brought to life on set. They were methodological, a feeling so carefully put together to achieve its maximum potentialâreal life isnât like that.â You inhale deeply.
âThings happen for no reason, like they donât for no reason either. And in a way, I felt both with you.â Your hands lowered themselves towards his hands to hold them tightly. âEnemies-to-lovers? It was laughable at first, but as the days went on, everything just fell into place as if it always belonged there. You feel like a child in front of me? I feel like Iâve never felt warmth in my entire life until you came along. When I first got out of the car yesterday, it was only then that I described urban life as cold and lonely in my entire life. I thought that maybe it was because I got too attached to the homey feel of the countryside that everything Iâve ever known somehow became foreign in a few days. But maybe it was just because of you.â
You found yourself giggling at the dumbfounded look he still had on his face, mind slow to take in what was happening in front of him. âWhat Iâm saying is that I would love to see where this takes us. Right now, you canât expect me to fall in love all of a sudden, especially considering our past. Though if you try hard enough, perhaps that might be just around the corner. What do you say?â Seungmin finally broke free from his trance, eyes watering.
âIâll show you hard work that youâve never seen before in your life.â
âAnd I believe it.â You pinch his cheek before standing up. âNow, letâs go back inside? The party is still ongoing.â
Seungmin clumsily follows, calling out just in time before you opened the door. âWaitâI still donât have your number.â You gave him an astounded stare.
âSeriously?â You breathe out. âWe went through all that, and we still donât have each otherâs numbers?â
Seungmin voices out his offense. âWell, Iâm sorry that I was missing all my shots!â
âSo, does that mean youâre gonna take a shot now, loverboy?â
âFor you, yes.â

Red Carpet Ready
AN: So when all the pictures and gifs from the Berlinale festival started to come out over the last week a lot of the folk on the BBE server went, shall we say, feral. When this particular gif appeared, @mrs-illyrian-baby, @buckyismybicycle and I started to have thots. Thots about a cool, calm collected movie star Bucky leaving a very wrung out reader melted in the back of the limo as he strode out onto the red carpet. And this was born.
Not betaâd.
Likes are loved, reblogs are golden.
Mood board by me and dividers by @firefly-graphics
Master listÂ
Summary: You love your job as Buckyâs PA. You love him even more, even if he doesnât know it. On your way to an awards ceremony he appears more nervous than usual and thanks to a traffic jam you find the best way to get him out of his head.
Relationship: Movie Star Bucky Barnes x PA Fem Reader
Word count: 3k
CW: AU - Modern Day, Anxious Bucky, Pining, Power Imbalance, Explicit Sexual Content (Oral - M receiving, Vaginal fingering), Buckyâs A+ Dirty Talk, Implied future spicy time, effectively PWP.
You lurched in your seat as the limo braked. Luckily it hadnât been going fast, but it was enough to fracture your concentration. You looked up from your checklist towards the other occupant of the back seat, your boss, the famous movie-star Bucky Barnes.
Youâd been his PA for several years now, acting as a go-between him and his manager, getting him booked into hotels under pseudonyms, liaising with his media team and his stylist, fetching coffees and a hundred and one other things. Luckily, he was a lovely man to work for, polite and respectful, but, unfortunately for you, he was absolutely drop-dead gorgeous. You remembered when you first got the job - youâd spent most of your days refusing to actually speak unless necessary, lest you embarrass yourself by letting slip your not safe for work inner thoughts. However, as time had passed youâd not only relaxed, but also been able to get to know the man behind the mask, meaning that you and Bucky now had an easy friendship. It was based on mutual respect and shared memories, and you treasured it intensely. Your friends wondered why you stayed in a job that left you with no real base, flitting around the world for shoots, premieres and interviews. You told them that it suited you. You didnât tell them that it was because you were in love with your employer.
Bucky looked nervous and ran his hands through his shaggy hair. He didnât often wear it that long, but he was growing it out for a part, more willing to do that than have to put up with a stifling wig on top of what was bound to be an equally stifling costume. His left knee jiggled, letting you know his anxiety was on the rise.Â
Tonight he was attending an awards ceremony, one in which heâd been nominated for the Best Actor category. That in itself wasnât that strange, heâd been nominated several times over the last few years, but this time was different, this time there was a high chance he would actually win. Such a thing was utterly deserved in your biassed opinion, but Bucky had been the runner-up so many times before and his nerves were starting to get the better of him.Â
Realising youâd been staring at him for too long, you looked back down at your checklist and cleared your throat.
âYouâre being seated next to Yelena, as sheâs your co-star in the next movie, so at least youâll be with someone you know.â
Bucky grunted and turned his head to look out of the tinted windows as the lights of L.A. moved passed at a much slower pace than you would have liked. The traffic was to be expected really, the great and good of Hollywood, plus all their fans, out in force for tonightâs event. It would have been more surprising if the roads hadnât been blocked.
With a sigh you put down your clipboard and reached out to place your hand on Buckyâs knee to grab his attention.
âYouâll be fine, you know,â you soothed. âYouâve got your acceptance speech in your jacket pocket still, havenât you?â You watched as he patted his hand against his chest, checking for the folded paper housed in the inside pocket of his black jacket and gave you a small nod in confirmation. He wore a navy blue shirt under the black suit and had foregone a tie. In your opinion - and you had a lot of those about Bucky - he looked stunning.Â
He was also uncharacteristically quiet.
You wracked your brains, trying to think of a way to get him out of his head. From the corner of your eye you saw him push his finger down the collar of his shirt and give it a tug. You clucked your tongue and rolled your eyes and leant forward in your seat, both hands outstretched towards the offending fabric.
âLetâs just undo that for a moment. Weâve got time, and youâve got me here to make sure you look presentable.â
He chuckled at that, and your heart soared. Your fingers made quick work of the top two buttons of his shirt and Bucky let out a deep sigh in appreciation.
âThanks, Doll. Donât know what Iâd do without you.â His voice was rough from staying quiet for so long, his vocal cords stiff.
Your lips turned up at the edges. âIâm sure you would have thought of it yourself, or found another way to get rid of your nerves.â
His eyes, stormy grey-blue, flicked up to yours just then, the intensity of his gaze pinning you in place. There was a feeling, nebulous and just out of reach, that you could almost identify brewing between you. Moments like this had occurred a handful of times over the last few months, coinciding with Bucky getting over his last heartbreak. His previous girlfriend had been⊠alright - it wasnât any of your business of course and you definitely hadnât stalked her socials whatsoever - but it hadnât surprised you when theyâd called it a day. However, once heâd started to get back on level footing, youâd noticed him watching you more, and you werenât sure how you felt about that.
First of all, you couldnât be sure that you werenât actually imagining it. Youâd been in love with him for so long it wouldnât surprise you if your brain had started to make you hallucinate.
Secondly, even if Bucky was watching you more, it didnât necessarily mean anything. Maybe he was just making sure you were alright and werenât being harassed by any of the pricks that tended to inhabit the movie scene.Â
However, if it was what your brain was telling you it was, where did that leave you? He was your boss - okay, technically his manager was, but po-tay-to, po-ta-to - and a famous movie star to boot. It was a recipe for disaster if ever there was one, even if your heart, and other parts of you, were begging for it.
âHmm,â Bucky pondered, amusement peppering his voice. âOther ways to destress. I wonder what you could mean, Doll.â Â
You giggled at his unsubtle innuendo and playfully smacked his arm. âBehave, Mr Barnes!â
He laughed back and rolled his eyes. âNow Iâm in trouble. You brought out the big guns. Making me turn around and look for my father.â
You continued to laugh, but suddenly the limo breaked again, much harder than last time, and you practically flew out of your front facing seat to land on your knees on the carpeted floor.
âShit!â Bucky exclaimed, and his hands clamped around the tops of your arms, steadying you. âAre you okay?â
You shook your head to clear it and looked up, ready to confirm that you were, when your mouth went dry. Bucky loomed over you and his thick thighs bracketed you where you were kneeling on the floor of the limo between his legs. In the space of a breath his eyes, his expression morphed from one of concern to something darker, and more primal. When you heard him mutter âFuckâ under his breath, you knew that your brain had not been deceiving you over the past months.Â
Bucky wanted you.
And although your mouth was still dry, your panties were having the opposite problem.
His gaze, dark and dangerous, pinned you in place, like a butterfly on a collectors board. You made no attempt to get up - you didnât think youâd be able to even if you did want to - and that decision told Bucky everything he needed to know. Gone was the nervous wreck of a few minutes ago and in his place was a lust filled, domineering man. A hunter with his prey in sight.
He let go of you with his left hand and trailed his knuckles down your cheek. You couldnât help it when your eyes fluttered closed at the sensation.
âI think Iâm still a bit stressed, Doll. You got any ideas on how you can personally assist me with that?â
You nodded and swallowed thickly, your hands coming up to grip his suit clad thighs. You felt them tense under your grip and images of you straddling one, rubbing your slick core against the toned muscle filled your head, making your moan. He let out a deep chuckle that vibrated through his whole body.
âIâd love to know what images youâve conjured in your head, sweetheart, and maybe Iâll persuade you to tell me later on, but we donât have much time.â He popped open the four buttons on his jacket, revealing to you the tenting in his suit pants.Â
You shouldnât be doing this, but you couldnât stop yourself. You knew what was in there. Had been on set with him enough times in various states of dress and undress - even though you always tried to avert your eyes - to be fairly well informed, but this was the closest youâd ever been. Like a moth to a flame, your hands slid up his legs until they were gripping his hips. You looked up at him again, and he just stared back, expectantly.Â
Fuck. Youâd never been so turned on in your life, and he hadnât even touched you.Â
Carefully you unbuckled his belt, but your hands still brushed over his clothed erection which twitched under your accidental touch. You pulled down his zipper and Bucky shifted himself so that you could peel his pants part way down his thighs.
There was a dark, damp spot on his grey boxer briefs and they clung to his body, outlining the shape and size of him. You licked your lips without thinking, and drew the lower one in between your teeth.
Were you really about to suck Buckyâs cock in the back of the limo? You were glad that the privacy screen had gone up straight away, to give you time to get Bucky ready for the red carpet, although the you of twenty minutes ago had in no way envisioned this scenario ever happening outside of your private imaginings.
Bucky took hold of your right hand and laid it over his bulge and you couldnât help but give him a gentle squeeze through his briefs. He inhaled sharply through his nose and his eyes fluttered briefly, before they were back on you, somehow darker than before. You felt emboldened, the fact you held power over his desire making you dizzy, and you let go of him so you could pull down the waistband of his underwear and get your first, up close look at Buckyâs cock.
For a moment you were worried your arousal would spill over your panties and leave a wet spot on the carpet between your knees as you took him in with your gaze. He was everything youâd ever imagined from your brief glances and you barely hesitated before you wrapped your hand around the firm warmth of him and took his tip between your lips.Â
You were aware of several things at once - the clean, musky scent and taste of him, as well as the salacious noise that left his lips at your first, tentative caress. You also heard a thud and cast your eyes upwards to see that Bucky had let his head fall back against the privacy screen. You should have been worried about what the driver may be thinking, but in reality, you didnât care. All that mattered was Bucky.
You explored him with your fingers, lips and tongue, revelling in the groans, grunts and whispered mumblings that fell from his lips. His right hand still held your upper arm, but his left came up to gently cup the back of your head, not forcing you down, but just adding another connection between the two of you.
You bobbed your head and took him as deep as you could, your throat swallowing around his length until spots appeared in front of your eyes and you had to draw back.
âJeez, Doll. Fuck! How did I not see what was right under my nose for all those years? Coulda been doing this sooner. Coulda had you writhing in my bed, creaming on me like youâre probably creaming those panties of yours right now.â
You hummed your agreement and tongued his slit, before tracing down his frenulum and around the underside of his head.
âWhatever happens this evening, youâre mine tonight. Gonna treat you right, Doll. Gonna fuck you until you donât know your own name any more, only mine. And if I win? Shit. Might need an extra day and night in the hotel. God. Iâm close, sweetheart. You gonna swallow it all? Canât spill a drop on my suit. Canât have me go out there with cum on my pants.â
You swallowed him down deep again, flattening your tongue against the ridgid length of him, and reached down with your hand to massage his tightening balls. Buckyâs hips started to jerk, so taken over by his desires that he was unable to hold back from fucking your mouth, at least a little bit.
âThatâs it. Take it. Take it. Such a good girl. Every drop. Every. Fucking. Drop.â He came with a guttural groan, his cum filling your mouth as you struggled to swallow it. Even when his orgasm finally stopped, you continued to lick and kiss his cock as it softened, intending to clean it as best you could. In the end, Bucky had to ease you away, and you realised you were probably overstimulating him. He didnât leave you disappointed for long, though. Easily manhandling you back onto your seat, it was then his turn to kneel in front of you.
âFucking perfect, sweetheart.â His hands skimmed up your thighs, sliding under your, entirely sensible, black shift dress. The thumb of his right hand brushed over the front of your panties and your throbbing clit, making you whine and twitch.
âYou are soaked,â he drawled. âGood fucking girl.â
Bucky leaned into your space and his lips captured yours in a searing kiss, his tongue demanding immediate entry and no-doubt tasting himself as he did so. At the same time, the fingers of his right hand slipped under your panties, and slid through your sodden folds. His kiss swallowed your cries as he toyed with your clit, the sensation almost bordering on too much.Â
Then he slid a finger inside you.
You felt Bucky smile into the kiss at your reaction, your pussy clenching down on his intrusion.
âSuch a greedy pussy,â he muttered before adding a second. âI got you, Doll. Canât wait to get my cock in you.â
Your only response was another moan and another clench around his invading digits. When he changed the angle of his fingers, you ripped your lips from his as you threw your head back.
âThere it is. Look at me, sweetheart. Want you to look at me when you come.â Buckyâs voice was deep and commanding and you wouldnât have been able to disobey him, even if youâd had the presence of mind to do so. You meet his gaze from under heavy lids as his fingers and thumb continued to drive you upwards assisted by Buckyâs voice which only ever spoken to you like this in your deepest fantasies.
âThatâs it, Doll. Need you to come for me. Need to know how hard youâre gonna strangle my cock later. Need to know how beautiful you look when you come. Gonna be smelling your pussy on my fingers all evening. Hell, if I win Iâll hold that statue with this hand and get you all over it. Fuck! Do it now, sweetheart. Come now.â
Your whole body spasmed as you came, your hands gripping Buckyâs right forearm to hold him still. Up was down and down was up as the world span before your eyes at the intensity of your orgasm. Eventually though, reality had to set back in and Bucky pulled his hand from the clutch of your body.
âBucky!â You keened, your body still sensitive, but protesting at emptiness nonetheless.
âLater, Doll,â he placated at your disappointed whine. âI meant it. This isnât over by a long shot. Iâll see you after the ceremony. Iâm ready for that red carpet now and itâs all thanks to you.â He sucked on his fingers, grinning as he did so then leaned forward and dropped a soft, almost chaste kiss to your lips.
You blinked owlishly at him, your brain still trying to process what had just happened while you clit pulsed between your folds. Bucky smiled, pulling your dress down before putting his own clothes to rights, including the top buttons of his shirt. The limo jerked to a halt a few moments later, but this time it wasnât due to a traffic jam, but because it had pulled up right by the venue.
With a much more relaxed demeanor that when the limo had set off, Bucky alighted when the driver opened his door. It wasnât until you watched back the footage, much later in his hotel room, that you could see that Bucky was re-buttoning his jacket as he walked up the red-carpet, a smug look plastered onto his face. Most people thought the expression was related to his nomination, but you knew better.
What you did agree with the general public on though, was the delight on Buckyâs face when his name was read out as the winner of the leading actor category. You were watching from the sides, having ridden in the limo around to the back of the venue, having used the few extra minutes to put your scrambled brain back together. You stood with the other PAs, managers and media secretaries of the main nominees, all of you with your fingers crossed.Â
But while everyone else in the hall whistled and cheered when Bucky made his way to the stage for his acceptance speech, you were on your phone, quickly altering his hotel booking to include an extra night. He had promised after all.

"So like...are we gonna keep staring at the door or do you mind if I open it and walk inside?"
Swiftly turning your neck, you glared at your friend who was patiently waiting for your reply- probably begging on the inside to go in by how badly cold it was outside on this tuesday, new york morning.
"Just go inside by yourself!" you rolled your eyes as she shook her head.
"Uh no, for one- I can't let you be out here alone, some man could just push you in a van and sell you to the black market," Jules declared. "then I would lose one birthday gift from you-"
"I will push you in the van myself if you keep talking," you groaned, her constant rambling within the hours making your nerves worsen.
Today was the day Jules, your best friend, and you began your internship on a film set. Actually, it was yesterday, but nobody really counts the short orientation and hours of reading rules and responsibilities a real productive work day, right?
If having the worst anxiety wasn't enough, you were blessed to have been given an amazing coping mechanism of meditation- in which would've been fine with if you didn't look like a complete idiot standing up with your eyes wide open breathing slowly.
But to be fair, this really was your first day on the job. You didn't know what to expect and your friend wasn't exactly a helping hand in these situations. As she was more confident and outgoing, there you were being an introverted, awkward female with amazing music taste- that is you ever felt comfortable to let people hear your music outside of your headphones.
"I don't get just why you have to pray while staring at the door as if you wanna stare into its soul, you look weird," Jules whined, placing her hand over her eyes. "We have to be at Finn's office in 10 minutes or else we're dead."
"Fine," you huff, grabbing your bag you had placed on the floor beforehand onto your shoulder. "Let's go."
Excitedly clapping her hands together, she swung the door open before dragging you down the hall of the room towards the elevators. The two of you had to meet at a studio on the other side of the city for this internship in which wouldn't be a problem if you enjoyed traffic and the crowds of people on the street- but you didn't.
Not only did you have to take the subway and a cab one hour before your schedule 8am start, you had to deal with the troubles of waking up your night owl roommate, Jules again, without slapping her silly by how strong her eyes stay shut.
After getting off the elevators and walking closer to his office, you recognized a couple of the other interns standing around his door looking either extremely nervous, tired- or both.
Suddenly, the door opened and Finn, the man who hired you, jumped out with a bright smile.
It's way too early to be this energetic.
"How is everyone doing on this lovely, working morning?" Finn smiled, making sure to make eye-contact with every single person in the hall before continuing on with his dialogue. "I'll take this silence as a way you all express your gratitude to be able to work on a live set."
With the ongoing silence still occurring, Finn continued with, "please follow me to the room next door, that's where we'll discuss minor details before heading towards the stages."
The minor details were simple, don't screw up.
There was also little insights on what we should be prepared for- taking care of the cast and errands as the day went on.
I suppose experience is what is needed for your future so it shouldn't be a surprise that you wouldn't be around a camera for too long. But it was mentioned that overtime you would accelerate your learning to harder tasks such as on-hands work, which you were terrified over but within time you would get over it.
You had to, this was a part of your dream job after all.
The group was informed more about the project we had to assist, some new show coming out called 'The Last of Us.' To be honest, you weren't familiar with it. Some of the guys in the group threw in their input that they played the game, but you didn't know it was also a combined franchise.
You weren't exactly a gamer or horror film person.
It hadn't even come to your mind that you would be interacting with real-life celebrities until you made near a stage and felt Jules grip your wrist hard and start tugging on it to get your attention as she tried to quiet her fan girl squeals.
Looking up, you saw a group of people walking through a set with papers in their hand, laughing and chatting with one another. Truth be told, you didn't recognize any of them. Maybe you should have done more research regarding this show you know nothing about- but you heard some successful directors had openings for extra help and immediately called your friend to join with.
"Is it bad that I don't recognize any of these people?" you whisper to Jules as she screeches in low volume, shocked that you would dare say that.
"You're joking right?!" she whispers with a high-pitched voice. "Everybody knows them! They are-"
"Is that him?" you heard a girl whisper from your group, Jules stopping her almost-started rant from it. "He really is daddy."
"What the fuck?" you heard one of the guy interns whisper in confusion, looking at her as if she was delusional as she waved her hand to him to not distract her from her view.
You weren't sure who she was talking about and you really didn't want to know. She probably had some silly crush on one of the actors which would just distract her from her job, it isn't worth it.
"Yo man, why is there a line of people looking like they are held at gunpoint?" one person laughed, pointing at your group as you tried to hold back your laughter.
You were assuming the people around you guys were majority of the cast as nobody else but the camera and makeup crew were present in the room. Surprisingly enough, even after seeing them closer you still couldn't figure out who any of these actors were.
Were you really that outdated in the films you watched?
"Way to introduce yourself, Gabriel," Finn replied, giving a pat on his back before turning back to the group. "These are the new interns because you know, you guys made the last ones quit."
"Uh no I didn't, that was all Nick!" you heard a small child gasp, pointing at an older looking man. He looked a little familiar but you couldn't wrap your head around it. "He made them pick up his food orders all the way across town everyday!"
The familiar-looking man had longer hair than most of the men around. "I would've done delivery if that was an option!" The man complained, making the girl scoff in return.
Hold on, you knew that voice. You grew up with that voice.
"Wait, I do know somebody, that's Ron Swanson" you gasped, completely forgetting how loud and clear you were in your surroundings by how fazed out you were to be a few feet away from a comedic legend.
You didn't know all eyes were on you until you felt Jules heavy weight of her shoulders hit yours as she hid her face in embarrassment from your last statement causing you to look up. Everybody tried holding back their giggles as Nick just smiled proudly.
Great, you just exposed how you didn't know them in front of them. Not mortifying at all.
"Funny and smart for knowing me, I like her already," you heard Nick proudly declare, turning to Finn with a firm nod. "You better not fire her."
Feeling your face getting hotter by the second, you wished you could just hide under a blanket and stay in there forever if it meant you never had to embarrass yourself like that again. This probably looked so disreputable on your part.
"And what might this oblivious, tomato be named?" you heard a man curiously question, getting your attention by his big framed glasses on his face.
Did he just call you a fruit?
"Be nice, you're intimidating them. It's like a new fish in a big pond," an older woman responded after, trying to bring some extra comfort into the room but it was too late- you were traumatized.
"Okay, okay," the man held up his hand in defense before turning to look at you straight in the eye. "What might this unaware, cherry tomato be named? That sounds cuter."
"Uh, y/n," you awkwardly stated, holding your hands together while terribly trying to defend yourself. "And it's totally not like I didn't recognize the rest of you!" you lie, pointing at a random person next to him before speaking up again, "you're in that one brilliant movie that was so good!"
The man sheepishly smiled at you before saying, "I am just one of the cameramen, but thank you. I do get told quite a bit that I look like Brad Pitt." And that was the moment you wanted to die inside.
That's it, you're never coming back here again. You've made a fool out of yourself.
"Stop talking," you heard your friend hiss before taking a step forward to help lessen the attention on you. "I am Jules. Not fashionable like the one from Euphoria, but still very friendly and fun."
The cast all waved at her from her radiating charm that could make anyone adore her. "Thank you, Jules who isn't from Euphoria, why don't everyone else introduce themselves."
After everyone had their time to shine, you were excused for a small break as rehearsal had yet to start. You weren't complaining, you would rather be out getting coffee on the other side of town if that meant you could avoid the actors and directors at all times.
Sitting on one of the break room's couches, you felt Jules jump next to you before hitting your shoulder rapidly. "I think that one girl intern hates you!"
Trying hard to remove her fast hands off you, you gave her a confused look. "Uh why? Was it because I embarrassed us?"
There couldn't be any other reason why she might dislike you, it's not like you knew her personally or had ever met her before the last few days.
"I mean Pedro did call you cute minutes after she called him 'daddy', what do you expect?" She giggled as you gave her a disgusted glance at the last term she used. Why would she call him that and feel comfortable saying it so freely? "She's in loveeee with him."
Pedro? So that was his name.
"First of all, he doesn't think I'm cute. The name 'cherry tomato' was cute rather than a hillbilly tomato," you defended, making her scrunch her face in confusion by your nonsense. "Second, there's no way a normal woman would be that upset over one small indirect comment not made in that way."
Jules rolled her eyes by how understanding you weren't being, it annoyed her even more how oblivious- like the man had said, you were being. "He called you a cherry tomato because it has an adorable ring to it for a cute person! Therefore, he finds you pretty- end of story."
"I am beginning to think you really are delusional."
"All I am saying is be careful," she whispers seriously. "She's young and I know a lot of people who obsess over him for his looks."
"Why? He's like in his 40s-"
"Daddy issues? Gray facial hair? I have no clue what people enjoy on their free time," Jules cut you off, shrugging while you snickered. Like you never heard that excuse before.
"Can we check out the set though? I'm feeling better and want to be out there to prove how unaffected I am from earlier- but I will be hiding behind your back."
"As always," she sang, following you out the door back to the main room.
Walking out, you were determined to stay focused and think before you said something silly- which was hard. Your whole life you've always been a little dumb when reading the environment, that's not gonna change within a few minutes.
Looking through the racks of costumes, tables filled with devices you had never seen before, and cameras that were bigger than yourself, one of the interns, Joon, came up to Jules and you to inform that it was time to actually 'work.'
"Damn, I kinda liked just walking around and doing nothing but stare at the lights. Now we have to get our hands dirty for minimum wage," Jules sighed as the two of you walked in front of one of the stages.
The stage was practically empty, only a few white walls installed and chairs scattered around.
After a few minutes of hearing one of the lead director's assistant discuss the plan of going over a few scenes, it came to your realization that this was only a rehearsal.
It made sense, this building wasn't necessarily a 'survival mode" vibe. Maybe a few indoor scenes would do the job, but it wouldn't be enough for the series.
"I want you to run along with Kendall to grab some snacks, go around the room and see what we're missing and restock!" Finn brightly smiled to Jules before turning to you. "Now, what should I do with you?"
Man, you wished you could replace Kendall right now because now you were alone
"She can help me with the makeup," a lady spoke up from a few feet away. She was a very tall, black-haired woman with a few facial piercings who looked like she was in her middle 20s. "We still need to practice to see how it'll look on the screen this week"
Finn looked at you and back at her before shrugging and nodding. "Works for me." He was already walking away before he turned back around, "but don't let her apply too much, I don't want them looking caked up in front of the camera." Lightly scoffing, you made your way to the girl as he walked away.
Standing there in discomfort, you waited for her to lead you in any type of direction to make this task go by quicker. Makeup was not your thing, or at least when it came to doing someone else's.
"I'm Violet, by the way," the girl smiled kindly at you as she handed you a black apron. "You must be y/n."
Taking the apron, you opened it to find in white writing 'TLOU Crew.' "How'd you know? Did me not knowing the cast spread that fast "
Giggling, she shook her head. "Yes and no," she grabbed one of her many make up bags and began looking through it. "Your name tag."
Looking down, you forgot they had written your name on the sticker during the short-lived meeting with Finn. Redness filled your face as you averted your eyes somewhere else, too embarrassed to make eye-contact.
"Anywho," Violet chuckled while putting one hand on her hip. "I thought maybe I could do my normal routine while you can just do the small stuff like brush their eyebrows or hair."
Squinting your eyes, you just gave her a confused look. "Brush their eyebrows? Work with their hair? Isn't the eyebrows fairly too easy for you to need the help and don't you guys have certified hairstylists?"
"Would you rather do more complicated things like taking their never-ending customized coffee orders?" She replied, making you immediately reject the idea. "I volunteered you to help me because I feel like working on harder tasks your first day would only be stressful."
How thoughtful of her.
"Plus, today's not a complicated schedule-," she added as she began lining her brushes around her small table. "-think of it as a practice run over a few lines, but for multiple scenes. We probably have like max 5 people I need to work on so no need for many artists."
There was another older lady in the other side of the table on her phone, probably another experienced makeup artist who knew the drill.
"Got it, today is a light day," you responded back, causing her to smile and hand you a hairbrush.
"See, you have the right mindset," she declared, nudging her head to the side. "And you better keep it because you have your first clients coming in."
Eyes widening, you swiftly twisted your body to see two young girls and Nick come in. Three people, that shouldn't be hard.
"You better make me look adorable," Nick pointed a finger at you as he sat down on a chair near you, causing you to let out a shy laugh as Violet motioned you to come closer.
"I'm going to prep his skin, go to Bella and Nico and ask them to do the same," she advised. "They usually do it themselves on these days to make the process faster."
Nodding you walked to the two young girls, not knowing which was who. The girls were chatting with each other before one with big curls noticed your presence before smiling brightly. "Skin routine, huh? Don't worry, we were about to begin."
Immediately, you noticed her beautiful accent that caused you to stare at her in shock.
"Looks like you frightened her," the other girl laughed, making you glance at her right after. They both had the strong accent.
"Sorry!" you blush, trying to avert your eyes away from them. "I just never heard a British accent- or at least one in person before."
The first girl giggled, waving her hand as a way to prove she didn't mind. "We get that all the time when we visit, it's okay- I never really hear your accent unless I am working on a new project."
"I don't have an accent- you have one," you declare, causing them to laugh harder.
"You seem really amazed by it, is it because you fantasize over Harry Potter or something?" the second girl jokingly questioned, making you chuckle.
"I wish, but I only watched one of his movies and never read the books," you sigh before continuing. "But one of my favorite bands are British so I just get a little loss for words whenever I hear one. It's such a beautiful tone- not to be weird or anything!"
"I agree, New Yorker's just sound so...angry," the first girl shivered. "Which band are you into? Maybe we know them"
"The 1975-"
"Aww, did you do your research on me to make up for earlier," you heard a voice boost through the area. Turning around, you noticed it was the man who called you a tomato, Pedro.
He gave you a cheeky smirk with a look in his eyes as if he knew torturing you will never get old- unless of course you started crying.
"No, you idiot-," the second girl rolled her eyes as he sent her a playful glare for the insult. "-she's talking about the band."
"Wait, you were born in 1975?" you lightly asked, your mind all scrambled in your heard trying to figure out how old he would be now. "that m-
"Yes, I am old!" Pedro fake cried, holding his heart with his hand. "You don't need to remind me that these wrinkles will never go away."
"Well if you had a prepped your skin throughout the years your skin would have been as smooth as a baby's butt like mine," you heard Nick comment from his chair, eyes closed as Violet just laughed in agreement while applying sunscreen on his face.
Pedro just rolled his eyes as the first girl began talking again. "By the way, I love the 1975! Never seen them live though, but they are definitely on my playlists."
You smiled, already feeling comfortable within the environment. Maybe being alone wasn't going to be that terrible.
"I heard he makes out with fans during his concerts," the second girl scrunched her nose in disgust. "Isn't he worried he would end up catching something."
"He probably gets check ups all the time, Bella," the first girl commented, or you suppose Nico since you now know which one was Bella.
"I would catch any disease if it meant I got to kiss Matty Healy for five seconds," you replied, causing the girls to stare at you in astonishment that you just said that so freely.
Maybe talking about your favorite band is slowly making you more confident?
You heard Violet let out a loud laugh as Nick disagreed, saying something about how young girls are too adventurous nowadays but it was true. Matt Healy was a very attractive man whose kiss could probably heal heartaches.
"Isn't he like in his 30s? Aren't you a little too young to be kissing an older man like him?" Violet questioned, making you shrug.
"Maybe I have a thing for older men."
"Wouldn't call a guy who constantly makes out with fans a man," Pedro snorted. "That's a boy."
Nick hummed in agreement as you suppressed a laugh. "How old are you anyway?"
Standing up straight you stared at him and he did the same back. "Guess."
"That never ends up good," Violet chuckled before examining you up and down. "But 18."
Shaking your head, you were young but not that young. At least your skin still made you look like a teenager, god bless.
"25," Bella answered in which you denied that as well.
"29" Nico tried but was wrong.
Nick sat up from his seat to really figure out your age before easily answering "32" and becoming shocked when you denied it. "Woah, are we at least going in the right direction?"
"Violet was headed there."
Pedro sat up in shock at your response. "You're a teenager?!"
"Would it be so wrong if I was?" you questioned. "I would love to live longer."
"She's 21," the other makeup artist who was long forgotten during this conversation casually spoke up, eyes lifting from her phone. The rest of us just stared at her as she did the same back, confused. "What? She fantasizes over an older man but is doing an internship- sounds like what every 21 year-old does."
Gasping, you held a hand over your mouth as everyone laughed at how accurate she was. She was indeed right, but you wouldn't necessarily call your crush on Matty Healy a fantasy- just a strong imagination of being his lifelong lover that would probably never happen because he doesn't know you exist.
"She's right, huh" Nico spoke up as she noticed you didn't fight back.
"Sadly."
After that whole fiasco trying to find out your real age, Violet began working on Pedro after she finished with Nick. Nico and Bella were almost done with their makeup with the other artist when Violet called you over.
Walking towards the chair, you noticed that she had already finished his base with an extremely natural look, not wanting to add too much or it wouldn't look realistic.
"Can you brush his brows and apply some powder on places that need it? I need to finish Bella off with a few final touches," Violet asked, in which you nodded as she pointed to the products needed to do so. "Don't worry if you mess up, it doesn't need to be perfect."
That didn't make you feel any better.
Standing awkwardly as she walks off, you searched around her overload of makeup table to grab the items she just pointed at.
You decided to do his eyebrows first which would be extremely weird because you've never done this before- or at least to a man.
Surprisingly, Pedro hadn't teased you at all since you arrived by his side to help. He actually just laid there silent and watched Violet direct you through her moves before she left.
Maybe he was cutting you a break for once.
You were proven wrong when you leaned forward and aimed your hand towards his face before he quickly tried biting your hand, causing you to squeal and drop the brush on his face, jumping back.
"Very unprofessional," he declared, picking up the brush that had fallen down from his face to his neck up before looking up at you. "Do you hit all of your clients?'
"You did that on purpose!" you glared, smacking his arm as he sent you a playful wink.
"And what are you gonna do about it? Tell on me?" he teased until you grabbed the brush from his hands and swiped it across his brows hard, causing him to hiss in pain. "God damn, woman!"
Laughing as he gripped his forehead area, he gave you a dirty look as you begin the process of patting his face, even hitting his face a little harder than usual in some spots to make sure you got your revenge.
Once done, you examined his face to make sure you were pleased with the results- in which you were.
"All done?' Violet asked, walking up beside you, checking out your work. "Nicely done, but why does he look grumpy?" she added, as he huffed. "and why is he holding his face?"
"Who knows?" you shrug as Pedro scoffs, watching you walk away as Violet calls out afterwards that you were free to go.
As you were walking back to find where the rest of the interns were, you turned your head to find Pedro's eyes still on yours. You gave him an evil smirk as he pointed his finger at you before swiping his thumb across his neck.
You giggled, about to respond back but you were interrupted when a hand tapped your shoulder. Turning around, you find that it was two of the interns, Joon and the girl who was supposedly in love with Pedro, her name tag claiming she was Kendall.
Was this the girl that Jules went did her errands with? Most likely.
"Are you done with the makeup? We need help arranging the equipment for what's gonna be used today," Joon softly smiled as Kendall just stared at you with no emotion.
Nodding, you followed after them as they walked towards the other side of the set. Soon, you had forgotten about the actor and your little battle as endless wires and heavy weights distracted you.
It wasn't till you physically couldn't bare holding the strong stands that the three of you were told you could take a lunch break. Pulling out your phone, you hadn't realized half the day had went by with all the work you were too engaged in.
"You wanna grab lunch with us? We were thinking about going to this small cafe down the street, the reviews look great," Joon asked as Kendall just sent you a small nod in agreement.
The three of you got along pretty well during the hours you spent together. You feel closer to Joon as he did talk the most, but Kendall did try to start little talks so it wouldn't be weird.
I mean we all kind had to get along in order for this job to work.
"I would but I should look for my friend-"
"I think she had her lunch already, I saw her walking by earlier eating a burrito," Kendall replied. Of course she ate already.
Going over the idea in your head a few times, you nodded. You were starving and you suppose its better to not be a loner right now. "Why not?"
As the three of you walked through the set, you didn't miss some of the glances you guys received as your footsteps were pretty loud. It looked like they were wrapping up on one of the scenes as the director was in deep focus on whatever he was lecturing to them on.
"I hope you guys like walking because I took a cab here," Joon chuckled, causing you to laugh.
"Don't worry, I did the same."
Putting on your big coat, you waited until Kendall was done tying the scarf around her neck before walking towards the exit. Close to the door, you halted when you heard someone call your name.
"Y/n!" you saw Bella jogging towards you making Joon and Kendall freeze their movements.
Shifting slowly, you gave her a curious look. "Yes?"
"We wanted to know if you wanted to have lunch with us?" she smiled before looking behind you to find the two others. "You guys can come too!"
Swinging your arms in front of you, you reject her offer as fast as she asked you. "Oh no, no- I'm all good," you decline, not wanting to feel like a bother. "You guys enjoy your own thing-"
"C'mon, how else are we gonna tease Pedro if you aren't there to get him riled up first?" she chuckled as you felt your face on fire.
"Maybe next time?" you kindly suggest, watching as she pouts but nods.
Lifting her right hand up, she sways it around. "Alright, but don't be surprised if Pedro haunts you because of this."
"Why would he?" you heard Kendall quickly question, making Bella tilt her head at her fast counter.
"Because he's the one who asked me to invite her-." Bella casually states before turning to you. "-which you declined so I hope he teases you all week for leaving Nico and I hanging."
Ignoring the first part of her last statement, you playfully nudge her before waving your goodbyes as she skips back to the rest of the cast. Beginning your walk to the cafe, the three of you had little talk about where you grew up, which schools you attended, and why you wanted to work for the film industry.
If it weren't for the freezing temperatures you would say you really enjoyed the walk, too bad you couldn't.
It wasn't until you were seated that Kendall decided to speak her mind on what she was really curious about:
You.
"So, I wonder why Pedro specifically asked you to join him for lunch and not the rest of us?" she randomly revealed as you were taking a sip of your coffee, almost choking on it once you heard her clearly. "Do I sense favoritism?"
Joon stifled a laugh, shaking his head at her last comment. "Doubt it, but I did wonder the same thing until I realized she did help with their makeup. That's intimate enough to make her at some level close to them."
You don't really know Kendall but she's been decent enough to be around until the cast comes to mind. Maybe she wants to be close to them? You're not sure, maybe Jules was right about her all along- who knows.
What you did know though was she was very quick to question and jump to conclusions.
"What did you even talk to them about?" Kendall eyed you, making you tense up a bit. She is very intimidating when she's curious.
"Nothing much-,' you shrug, messing with the napkin in front of you. "Mainly about the 1975 since the girls are British."
"You like the 1975?" Joon asked and you nodded. "I love them!"
Ears perking up after hearing this, you smiled hard. This new information just made Joon 10x better.
"I don't know who they are," Kendall intervened, trying to find some voice in the topic.
The rest of the hour was filled with Joon and you playing the 1975's albums to Kendall as she tried her best to hide her annoyance by shoving her food in her face.
She was definitely not a fan of talent.
Going back to work was a bit easier than before after finding comfort with a lot of the people around you. The three of you were still stuck doing the same job as you heard some of the other interns were either picking up props needed for a scene or being a personal assistant to Finn.
In fact, you hadn't seen many people as rehearsal was moved to another building on the lot. Another hour or two went by before Finn went up to Joon and you to cut you for the day.
"At least we don't have to stay late," Joon beamed, taking off the gloves he was wearing before folding them back into his little backpack. "I heard he's making some people stay till 6 for some heavy-lifting duties- thank god I wasn't chosen."
"Why? Because you aren't strong enough?" you laughed as he let out a small gasp in offense.
"To think we were becoming best friends," he pouted. "But I had a back injury over a year ago so they can't really make me lift anything more than 30 pounds."
Feeling bad for teasing him, you immediately tried taking back your horrible joke. "I didn't mean t-"
"It's cool, no need to beg for forgiveness," he smiled. "Just a little something I don't tell many people, it isn't a big deal majority of the time."
Throwing a weak- but sincere smile, you nod along. Sure it wasn't a big deal right now, but later it could get worse. You didn't want him to know you felt bad but you assumed he knew by the pity upon your face.
Waving your goodbyes, you texted Jules to figure out where she was. It was a strange feeling not seeing each other all day despite working in the same building, but you did live together so it wasn't like you were missing much.
Finding her fake laughing at some guy's joke, her eyes met yours once you appeared by the door of the break room. Immediately, she patted the young boy who didn't look a day over 18 on the back before skipping happily towards you.
"I take it you had a fun day?"
"The best," she grinned, flipping a piece of hair behind her back. "I finally know what an affogato is- it really isn't that amazing as it sounds though. Just a shot of espresso poured on top of a drink."
Laughing, both of you continued down the hall in hopes of quickly finding a cab to take you to the subway. With the timing of your release, you were sure there was going to be so much traffic out these doors that you weren't ready to deal with.
Swinging the exit door open, you didn't expect to find Joon waiting outside with his hands in his pockets, looking down the street praying for an available cab to drive by.
"That hard to catch a ride, huh" Jules sighed, pulling out her phone as Joon slumped, bummed out. "Uber it is."
Seconds later you felt the doors behind you open again but didn't bother to turn, Joon and you too focused on peeking at Jules' phone as she complained about why an app that was supposed to be used when in need always took forever to arrive.
Two people walked a few feet to the side of you three and that's when you could see from the corner of your eye their figures stopping. Moving your head, you caught a view of a man scanning his phone and another glancing at you. It was Pedro.
"And what are you doing out here in the cold, you look like a chihuahua shivering to death," he chuckled, taking steps towards you.
"Is that a compliment?" you questioned, tilting your head as he gave you a smug look, making you guess for yourself.
"Pretty sure he's means you look like a rodent," Jules dryly commented, swiping through her phone before groaning loudly. "Goddammit! The nearest driver is 25 minutes away, I don't want to be waiting that long for a ride that's probably gonna be my whole day's pay."
Realizing the situation you and your friends were in, Pedro lifts a hand trying to get attention. "You guys need a ride? I drove here and-"
"No thank-," you intervene.
"-yes, please," Jules cuts you off, sending you a small glare as you gave one back.
You were not going to ask someone you met just this morning for a ride home. It's too much.
Pedro laughed at the sight of you two yelling at each other through your minds. Telepathy really works when it comes to your friends. Joon just stood there, not really caring what decision we came to terms with. He figured since Jules and you stayed with him long enough he could join along with whatever you two did, so it was up to you guys to make the final move.
"Okay, don't kill each other," Pedro joked, making you move your eyes away from Jules back to him. "How about I drive you three home and you can help me with my makeup this week- so you won't feel like you're taking too much from me."
Squinting, you made a face. "But I already have to do that- it's part of my job."
"She agreed! Let's go," Pedro exclaimed, waving his right arm to you guys to follow him, ignoring you as you tried to debate as to why doing your job wasn't helpful enough.
As Jules kept trying to shut your mouth by placing her palms on it during the walk inside the parking garage, Joon kept looking back confused. "Wait, what about the man? Was he leaving with you?"
Taking a quick glance towards the direction Joon was looking at, Pedro shrugged before pulling out his car keys. "His wife is picking him up."
Joon slowly nodded, not completely convinced that was the case but he'd let it go this time.
Hearing a car beep, you saw a very nice black car's light flash quickly. Walking up closer, Pedro went to the passenger side and opened it while staring at you. "Get in, loser."
Awkwardly standing there, you shook your head and look towards the backseat. "Uh, no- I'm fine with sitting in the back. Maybe Joon can have it since he is the tallest one here."
Joon shook his head. "I'm happy with sitting in the back, ladies first."
Pedro agreed with his last comment, lifting his head to get in the car as you continued to reject his kindness. He already offered you a ride home, you weren't able to take the front seat.
You both continued to fight about the seat before Jules flapped her arms and jumped inside instead. "We are not going to argue for hours over a seat, I'll take it."
Lowering your shoulders, you smiled as Pedro sent you a displeased look. Heading towards the door, Joon opened the door for you, kindly sending you a warm smile. You returned one back and moved to the seat behind the drivers.
Joon followed after you and sat behind Jules as you could see Pedro speed walk around the car, quickly jumping in. He turned towards the back, glancing at the two of you. "Where to?"
"Jules," you called out. She pulled out her phone and showed it to him before saying, "this is it."
"City girls," he blurted out. "The rats on the streets must be a sight to see."
"Let me see?" Joon asked before her phone was shoved to his face. "Hey, I live three streets away from here. Nice."
"We're basically neighbors," you nudged him, making him do the same as Pedro and Jules just stared at the both of you.
"Anyway," Pedro let out a small laugh, "let's go before I change my mind."
Putting the car in reverse, drive, and zooming off, we were on our way. The ride was filled with Jules playing with the radio, Pedro nicely trying to get her fingers off his screen, and Joon calling out the different trees he'd seen out the window the entire time.
At one point Joon even handed you his phone and asked for your number in case either of you needed help with the internship or the cheesy joke of one of you needing sugar in the middle of night.
Once he was dropped off, it took less than ten minutes to arrive to your apartment building.
"You can just pull in right there," Jules declared, pointing at an open spot in front of our lobby doors.
Taking a quit scan, you objected. "No, that's for emergencies only. Just go around the block, we can walk."
Jules protested, pleading Pedro to not give in to your nonsense. "This is an emergency- I want to go home already!"
"It's a red line; therefore, no parking."
Pedro laughed as you raised your voice, determined to not let him get away with this. You were not about to pay for a ticket just because she couldn't walk a few feet...and then a few more to get home.
"Is she always this stubborn?" Pedro jested, earning a hard raise of the eyebrows from Jules.
"You should see her when we study. If you aren't there on time you're kicked out of the discord." Smacking her arm, she huffs and smacks you back.
"I need to be apart of this discord," Pedro stated, making you roll your eyes.
"It's for students only, grandpa," you replied, causing him to gasp.
"That's not how you should treat someone who gave you a ride across town, intern," he retorted and pulled up along the red crub, making Jules laugh as you sent him a dirty look.
So he's pulling that card.
Jules opened her side of the door, stepping out before grabbing her bag and leaning down against the window. "Welp, I am going inside before he personally fires me for befriending you. See you inside and thanks Mr. man who can still get me fired even though he's not my boss!"
Next thing you knew, she was opening the entrance doors and sliding right inside them. It was time for you to go as well.
You could see him grab his phone, unlocking it, and then placing it right in front of your face. "Give me your number."
Scoffing, you pushed his hand away. "Not even going to ask?"
"We both know you're too difficult to easily agree to a question like that," he countered, pushing it back towards you, not leaving until you accepted it.
Was it unprofessional to be giving the main lead of a new television series your personal number? Maybe a lot of people do it, you mean there are plenty of workers who end up friends with cast members all the time on sets.
You're sure these workers have given their numbers away on multiple occasions.
Handing him back his phone, he grinned. "Great, now I can directly reach you whenever I need coffee."
"Only during work hours," you replied, shaking your pointer finger at him. "I don't get paid overtime unless I am on the clock."
He chuckled, twisting his body to get a better view of you. "Yeah, yeah. We'll see about that."
With that, he jumped out of the car and opened your car door, allowing you to step outside and be met with the freezing temperatures once again.
How much you hate the cold when its windy.
"See you tomorrow, kid," he scanned over, waiting for you to comeback with some snarky remark for his pet name.
Stepping away from his car and meeting the sidewalk, you turned around towards him to find him leaning against his door now, watching you to make sure you make it inside safely.
"Same with you- thanks for the ride, grandpa," you smirked, making him suppress a laugh as you turned your back to him again, making your way to the entrance doors.
Two feet away, you stopped when you heard him chant out your name. Seeing him inside his car with his passenger window rolled down, he tried his hardest to move his head against it to see you. "By the way," he started, "you don't look like a rodent."
Feeling flustered by the random yet sweet compliment, you tried hiding your big smile by waving him off, trying to hide your face with your hands and sped walked inside.
You hoped he didn't see the tint on your cheeks.
Unfortunately, your hopes never come true.

He really shouldâve been more careful, looking back on it now.
Yes, itâd been a while since heâd gotten that vase and set it down, but, really, for walking past it every single day, he shouldâve realized how precariously it sat on the table. He shouldâve realized that sooner or later, he was going to be too tired to remember to give it some space when he walked back into his apartment. Unfortunately, however, he did not in fact realize that in time. And so, he is tragically faced with the terrible fate of going and buying a new vase. Perhaps this time, he will not place it so precariously. Perhaps this time he will buy a thicker one that has less chances of shattering into one-thousand tiny pieces in the dark at around 10pm on a Thursday. He had much to think about in his journey of replacement.
Luckily, for as long as heâd had the vase, he could still vaguely recall where heâd gotten it from. It was some pottery store heâd randomly passed by once just outside of the city, curiousity (and fatigue, if he remembers right, itâd been an eventful day and he was still too jittery to lay down quite yet) getting the better of him when heâd noticed it. The owners were nice enough, an older couple who he could recall telling him long-winded stories about anything tangentially related to what heâd been looking at. Plates with flowers painted on them prompted a story about some unidentified, gorgeous plants one of them had seen around a river long ago. A cup with an oceanic color-scheme had prompted a tale of a seagull one of their previous coworkers would feed bits and pieces of bread to on their break. So on, so forth. Long winded for anyone passing through, but pleasant for someone just tired enough to want white noise and easy, one-sided conversation.
Getting into his car, he wondered if theyâd have any stories to tell him this time. He would likely be better conversation this time, now that he was less exhausted from being around other people for a long, exciting period of time and more tired from waking up at some time before 11am on a rare free day. He found himself gathering excitment somewhere in his chest, bubbling up in fondness at the idea of this little trip. Sure, it was just a silly little thing to be excited over, but it was nice to have a break from monotony, wasnât it?
It was a nice day out, too. The breeze forgiving and the sun sociable in the sky, bright rays easily negotiated to peace with sunglasses. Itâd been a while since heâd ventured out of the city. Sure, itâs not as though he lived in the heart of it, but it was still different to see the buildings like miniatures from afar. It was a nice break from the towering skyscrapers and heavy traffic. Especially the traffic, actually. Heâd never been good with handling bad drivers.
There wasnât anyone else in the parking lot, only one or two other cars there, likely the ownerâs or someone in a closeby buildingâs. There were a few other businesses dotted around in the area, some strip mall closeby and a park on the way there. He was likely just early, there probably arenât many people stopping to buy pottery at 9am.
The inside of the store was quiet enough, music playing softly enough you had to pay attention to the murmurs to pick up on it. The lights shone on everything, not blindingly as much as it was in gentle awareness of everything. As his eyes refocused, he couldâve sworn he seen a vague shape duck into a doorway near the back of the store. Before he could properly investigate his suspicions, his attention was drawn away.
âWell, I was wondering when the resident celebrity was coming back!â
He couldnât help but chuckle a bit, turning to face his company. âI hope Iâm not intruding, it seems Iâm rather early this time.â
The older woman he recognized from his previous visit smiled and shook her head, âMuch earlier, Iâm glad to see the cold night didnât drag you in this time.â
He returned the smile, pushing his hands into his pants pockets as he replied, âOh no, I was actually coming to look and see if you had any new vases in.â
Sheâd lit up at his words, straightening up with intent to lead him off, âOf course! Weâve got plenty of new ones in since last time, Iâm sure we can find one to your liking.â
-
â-turns out, that hammering I thought Iâd heard from the neighbors had just been a big woodpecker all along!â
Heâd smiled fondly, âAh! You donât see many of those around here, do you?â He was careful to keep a good grip on the vase in his hands, decorated in an intricate scene of a forest dotted with various birds. From the minute details on every pine needle and carved indents on certain elements, he could only imagine how long itâd taken to make.
âNo, no you donât,â sheâd laughed, shaking her head as she looked back to the shelf filled to the brim with other, equally eye-catching vases. Heâd studied the one in his hands a moment longer, carefully tracing over the carving of texture in a tree before perking up at a new sound.
A soft âclinkâ had snapped him out of his thoughts. Initially, heâd figured the old woman had picked up a new piece to show him, but found she was still studying the selection herself. Heâd turned around quickly, curious to see if anyone else had stopped in, but the store was empty. That was when his eyes caught that doorway again, vaguely making out the shape of shelving in the darkened hall. On that shelving sat one vase, darkness obscuring the pattern of it.
âWhy put that one piece there?â
The woman had snapped out of her own thoughts, looking back at him momentarily before following his gaze to the pot patiently sitting in the shade. Upon noticing the object of his attention, sheâd smiled once more and turned back to him, âOur resident potter puts their finished work there so we can price it and set it out.â
That had caught his attention. âResident?â
âOh yes! While we do get a fair amount from other sources, just as fair an amount is homemade,â she hummed, âWould you like to meet them?â
Heâd readjusted his hold on the vase again, not wanting to risk another work in his excitement, âIf that wouldnât be a bother.â
She shook her head, âIâm sure itâll be quite alright, chances are they would appreciate the conversation, artist-to-artist.â
Before he could offer any sort of further fret, sheâd started off towards the hall, leaving him to stand awkwardly with the glassware on his lonesome. Heâd glanced at the large cardinal on the surface of the piece one final time before hurriedly (and carefully) placing it back on the shelf, jumping to catch up.
-
It was far darker back here than it had been in the main area of the store. Combined with the noticable increase in temperature, however, it was more comfortable than you wouldâve imagined. Through the shade he could pick out calenders, notes and other miscellanious papers littered along walls and desks. Half-dirtied rags were scattered on shelves, various bottles standing not far from them nor the different tools lying about. Before he could even try and dissect what their uses would be by simple observing and guessing, the woman spoke up again.
âI hope you donât mind some company, (Name),â she chimed, speaking just a tad louder to properly catch attention in all the visual noise.
With that, heâd finally noticed the figure standing in front of a tall table near the middle of the room, turning their head to look towards her. Their eyes flicked to him momentarily in what he could only assume was surprise. Theyâd straightened up from their hunched over position, wiping their hands off on a dirtied apron as they walked around the table and towards the pair.
Oh no.
Theyâd opened their mouth to start talking to her, but he couldnât pick up on any of it. He wasnât entirely sure what he was focusing on, he just knew that he was particularly distracted by the person in front of him and it wasnât exactly getting any better the more and more he zoned out. He couldnât make out every detail perfectly in the low-lighting, but it was enough that he could very, very easily tell this person was very, very attractive.
â-so youâre that one guy on tv?â
âYes!â He flinched as he snapped out of his thoughts, âWally Darling, but just Wally is more than fine.â
Youâd smiled and for a brief moment he had to hope and pray his wasnât too dopey and the low light hid the heat in his face as you stuck your hand out. There was a brief moment your smile faltered, as though suddenly realizing something, but it wasnât a fast enough reaction as heâd snatched up your hand. Your hands were, similarly to the rest of the room, noticably warmer. They were also noticably sticky with clay, some already drying out on your skin as the rest, inevitably, would likely dry to his.
âAnd could I have the pleasure of knowing your name?â You looked like you were stuck between apologizing for getting the blood of your work on him and introducing yourself, glancing between him and your hands for a few moments. He vaguely realized this was probably a bit long for a handshake. Eventually, you managed a weak smile, righting your grip on his hand, â(Name).â
âThatâs a very lovely name,â he stated plainly, hoping you could pick up on the sincerity in his flatter tone, âHow long have you been working with ceramics, if you donât mind my asking?â
Youâd perked up at that, seemingly completely forgetting about the handshake (that was still yet to properly break apart, this was definitely not a proper one, anymore) with the topic of your work. âWell, thatâs a bit of a difficult question. Iâve been working with clay for a long, long time, but I really only picked it up career wise a year or two ago.â
âAh! That figures, your work is all very professional looking, itâs very impressive,â he complimented. Sure, he mightâve been laying it on a little thick, but it seemed as though heâd suddenly lost the ability to control his words, them tumbling out before he could even really think about it.
Luckily, you didnât seem to mind, instead reaching up a hand to rub at the back of your neck. âWell, I donât think my work is that stellar, but I really appreciate it. It uh- it definitely takes some time, itâs nice to see it goes to good use.â
âItâs nothing, really. If you donât mind, could I watch for a bit? Itâs completely fine if not, I really am just curious to see how you go about it.â Yes, he was definitely pushing his luck a little bit. In his defense, however, he was genuinely curious about how you managed to get all your vases so smooth and pack so many details onto such a small, unconventional canvas. It was just an added bonus that heâd possibly get to find out more about you, that was all! He canât help the mysterious potter he hadnât even known existed was not only nice on the eyes but, so far, was nothing short of pleasant.
Youâd thought on it a moment, moving the hand at the back of your neck to hang at your jaw absentmindedly, âI suppose that would be fine by me, I canât promise itâll be too entertaining though.â
He smiled and shook his head, âNot a problem at all! Iâm sure I can find enough entertainment for the both of us, I am an entertainer myself, after all.â
You returned his smile, finally letting go of his hand and breaking off your entirely-professional handshake to turn and head back to your workstation, âWell, make yourself comfortable, then.â
"Oh, trust me, that won't be any problem at all."

Lewd Public Acts: Five x OC One Shot
Getting busy in a public space with people around? The idea of someone witnessing everything becomes a turn on for Five's wife, and he is definitely up for the challenge. After all, he can never deny her anything. And, let's face it; there might be something in it for him, too.
Warnings: Smut, Public sex, Dirty talk, Fingering, Blow jobs
Words: 7,412
Here is a smutty one shot I wrote featuring my original character, an aged-up Five's love of his life, Vivian, from my Halo series. That AU spawned its own series of one shots that you can read here.
I love writing these two horny love-birds, so if you have any requests for a story featuring them, or Five and a reader-insert, let me know!
The traffic was incessantly slow, with the cars creeping forward mere inches at a time every few minutes. There was nowhere to go; not even a shoulder to drive on if you wanted to be that kind of jerk. Which, after over an hour of sitting in roughly the same spot, breathing in exhaust fumes and listening to his wifeâs horrific playlist of songs, Five would have gladly taken twenty traffic violation tickets just to get out of there. He gripped the steering wheel tighter, imagining it was the neck of whoever had caused this nightmare to begin with.
Viv risked a side glance, noticing the red flag that was the twitchy eye and bared teeth of her husband. Her eyes moved back in front of her, to the glove compartment where Five kept his Glock, and she subtly pressed her knee up against it. Just in case.
About thirty minutes into this fiasco, Five had put the car in park and blinked out and down the standing row of cars to try and get a look at what the hold up was, much to the shock of the other drivers. After he had stood on the side of the road, hands on his hips, assessing the situation in the most Five way possible, and then blinking back into the car, Viv had scrunched down in her seat and gave the confused, older lady in the car next to her an embarrassed smile.
Risking making things worse, and possibly her life, Viv quietly cleared her throat.
âFive. Thereâs nothing we can do. It sucks, but thereâs no point in getting all assassin-level angry about it.â
When Fiveâs head whipped around in her direction, she flinched just slightly; his face looking dangerously crazy.
âYes, I know thereâs nothing we can do, Vivie.â He drew out his words slowly and measured, as if talking to a small child. âBut I am tired and hungry and very, VERY over this music.â He stabbed his finger at the screen that had just lit up with the beginnings of âSweet Carolineâ, stopping poor Neil before he could get to the chorus.
The car was quiet again and Viv tried to choke down the laugh she felt forming inside of her. It never failed to amuse her when her murderous husband with a long history of blood and violence started acting like a toddler that was overdue for a nap and a snack. The more she sat there, watching him seethe out of the corner of her eye, the more she thought about it. And then she couldnât keep it suppressed anymore. The laugh started as a muffled snort, and then her shoulders started to shake. When Five looked over at her, completely unamused, it all burst forward in a loud, obnoxious cackle that had her doubled over.
âAlways glad to be your entertainment,â he snarled, looking away again.
âOh, come on, FiveâŠyou donât have to be so dramatic,â Viv argued, even as she still tried to swallow her laughter.
âHow am I being dramatic?â Five asked loudly, throwing his hands in the air with all the drama of a telenovela actor. âYouâre the one that wanted to go to this restaurant across town, even though I told you it would be a bitch to get to. And I was right, wasnât I? You know, sometimes you can admit when Iâm right. It wouldnât kill you.â
Rather than answer, Viv reached across with one hand, squeezing his cheeks and squishing in his face. She beamed over at him as he gave her the death glare. Part of the fun of messing with him was knowing she was the only one that could ever get away with it. Anyone else would have been swiftly joining the unidentifiable roadkill that was lying next to their car.
âYouâre so super cute when youâre all angry.â
Five swatted her hand away. âThin ice, Vivie. Youâre on real thin ice.â
She raised an eyebrow at him. âWhat exactly are you going to do about it?â
âOff the top of my head, Iâm thinking of spatial jumping myself out of here and leaving you here.â
Viv scoffed. âYou wouldnât dare. Besides, how far would you even get?â
âFar enough to get away from this mess and to think happily back on the image of you still sitting here, crying tears of regret over your treatment of me.â
Viv pressed her lips together to keep from laughing again. Even though Fiveâs body language and words gave the impression of some serious underlying wrath, the tiniest formation of a dimple on his cheek gave him away. He may have actually been pissed at the situation, but heâd never leave her like that.
âFine. You were rightâŠI was wrong. This was a bad idea. There, you good now?â she condescendingly patted his thigh.
As she turned back towards the passenger window, in the process of taking her hand back, she felt him grab hold of it, keeping her pressed into his leg. She turned back to face him with a questioning look. All she received in return was a very evil smile of which she knew the exact meaning behind. Uh-oh.
âOh, noâŠno way, buddy. I am not giving you a hand job in the middle of a traffic jam. Absolutely not.â
Even Viv knew her argument lacked much conviction; the sternness in her voice was definitely not very convincing. When Five didnât respond, she kept going.
âBesides, itâs not like weâre very hidden here, weâre surrounded by all these other cars with people in them and itâs broad daylight out. Not to mention my very nosy window neighbor over here, Iâm pretty sure her name is Gladys, keeps looking over at us. I think she likes you.â
None of that did anything to dissuade Five; it was as if she hadnât said anything at all. He just grasped her hand tighter, that cock-sure smile of his never wavering.
âFirst of all, you need to make up for this disaster you put us in, which you have so kindly admitted was your doing. Second, I have a very different kind of job in mind for you, my love. And third, I know you; and I can guarantee youâre going to have your head in my lap in a matter of minutes.â
Five took Vivâs hand and pressed it roughly between his legs, making sure she knew he wasnât fucking around. She could feel him growing and getting harder as he rubbed her palm over the top of his pants. He closed his eyes and let out a soft exhale.
âJesus, Five. How can you be so pissed off one second and so horny the next? Thatâs not normal.â
He opened his eyes and grinned over at her. âJust one of my many talents. Now, are you going to get over here? Or are you going to keep pretending youâre not going to suck my dick when I tell you to?â
She laughed softly, but didnât make a move, even though her breath had become noticeably faster and she stopped trying to pull her hand away.
Five unbuckled his seat belt and slid the seat back further to make more room. Then he settled back into the seat, spreading his legs apart and leaning his head back with his eyes closed.
âDarling, I really donât want to have to tell you again,â he warned, not even bothering to look over at her or open his eyes.
As he moved her hand over the crotch of his pants again, Viv took a deep, shaky breath and bit her bottom lip. He knew exactly how to get to her. How to turn her from a strong, confident woman into a quivering mess of sexed-up gelatin. Itâs like he knew the special, magic formula to instantly soak her panties and leave her wanting him. She may have been the boss of him in every other aspect of their lives, but when it came to anything sexualâŠFive was in charge.
After a brief look to her nosy neighbor, who happened to be looking straight ahead for once, she undid her own seat belt and leaned in closer to Five. She lightly ran her lips over his neck while she started undoing his pants.
âYouâre lucky Iâm willing to let you talk to me like that,â she murmured with a smile before kissing the corner of his mouth.
âYouâve been letting me talk to you like that since the day we met,â he replied; which was entirely true. Then he let out a soft moan as she freed his dick from his pants and started slowly stroking him.
âSo, whatâs going to be in this for me?â Viv asked, still teasing him with feather light kisses on his neck.
âDinner. Maybe,â Five answered dryly, trying to conceal his smile as he inhaled a sharp breath when her hand moved over him again.
The movement stopped completely then, and Five opened his eyes to look at her unamused face. Trying to push himself up into her fist, but to no avail, Five conceded with a short laugh.
âHow does this sound? If we ever get out of this nightmare and home again, Iâm going to get you on all fours and fuck you with my hand, then my mouth, and then my dick until youâre coming onto each one of them.â
Viv could feel the unmistakable rush of moisture between her legs when he said things like that. It was an automatic response from her body; because it knew thatâs exactly what was going to happen. She started to rub his cock again, harder and faster this time, causing him to flop his head back with a loud groan and close his eyes again.
âDeal. Just make sure youâre watching the road and pay attention if we start moving.â
âUh-huhâŠgot it,â he mumbled, his hand already pushing her head down.
Vivian was on him a second later, taking him all in at once, and letting him guide her head with his hand in her hair. If there was one thing she knew, it was that the man loved a good blow job. Sheâd given countless to him over the years, and in that time had gotten to know exactly the way he liked it and the quickest way to make him finish, too. She considered herself a Professional Number Five Cock Sucker at this point. She could have taught a class.
She made little moaning noises as she moved her head up and down in a certain rhythm, making sure the head of his dick hit the back of her throat each time. She gagged once in a while, but he liked that, too; knowing he was big enough to choke her if he really pushed her down hard enough. The angle was awkward, but not anything she couldnât handle and she used her hand along with her mouth to speed things up. But when her neck and back were starting to ache and the gear shift was digging into her armpit, he was still going strong. She had another trick up her sleeve that would wrap things up, though.
Taking her mouth off, but still working him with her hand, she looked up and made sure he was watching her face as she licked her lips.
âLet me feel your cum down my throat, Daddy,â she purred, as seductively as she could.
Then she was back to sucking him off and she could hear the low groaning noise that meant he was going to do just what she had asked of him. His hand tightened in her hair and he held her down while he pushed his hips up, his back arching and body stiff and twitching while he lost himself to her expert mouth-fucking skills. He was almost completely spent, the last few spurts of cum sliding down her throat, when there was the undeniable crunching sound and hard jolt of their car hitting the one in front of them.
Viv did choke a little with the impact, and lucky for Five he didnât get his dick bitten off. The car had been rolling so slowly that it had only gently bumped the other car. But it was still enough to do some damage. Not to mention the impact had somehow kicked the music back on and suddenly the car was being blasted with the all-too familiar lyrics of âSweet Carolineâ.
âŠtouching meâŠtouching youuuuuuâŠ.
âFuck!â Five cried as Viv lifted her head up quickly and looked out the windshield to see what had happened.
She groaned. âFive, god damn it! I told you to watch what you were doing!â
âYeah, I know!â he snapped back at her over the loudly obnoxious song. While trying to stuff himself back into his pants and zip up, he visibly winced. âI guess my foot slipped off the brake! I was a little preoccupied!â
Sweet CarolineâŠbum bum bumâŠ
âYou were preoccupied?! I was the one choking on your damn dick!â
âCharming, Viv, really.â
Good times never seemed so goodâŠ.
âWell, shit. Great, the guy is getting out of his car. Oh my god, heâs walking over here! Now what?â
âJesus, I donât know! Act fucking normal I guess, if you can manage that,â Five barked at her. âAnd turn this FUCKING music off!â
Five practically punched the touchscreen with his fist and Neil shut up again. The car seemed extra quiet, except for their angry breathing.
As the other driver got closer, Viv suddenly realized the absurdity of the whole situation. She knew what they looked like; her hair a tangled mess from Fiveâs hand, lips swollen and her chest flushed. Five was breathing hard and trying to tuck in his shirt and buckle his belt. Then add in the fact that they had started yelling at each other, and Viv immediately burst out laughing. When Five looked at her, first in complete shock, he must have come to the same conclusion she had and he shook his head with a smile.
âYou are a very bad girl, Vivian Hargreeves.â
âAnd you are a very bad influence,â she replied with another giggle.
As Five composed himself and got out of the car to assess the minor damage with the annoyed looking man; Viv glanced over to Gladys who was wearing a very sour expression on her face. Clearly, she had seen the whole thing go down, including the sinful activity that had taken place. Instead of hiding in embarrassment, though, Viv just waved out the window to her with a happy smile and gave her a thumbâs up. Then she wiped her mouth with the back of her hand and licked her lips, all while staring the haughty looking woman in the face. She couldnât help but crack up again when she saw the woman gasp and cover her mouth with her hand, completely appalled.
Later that evening, after they had finally gotten home and eaten dinner and Five had eaten something else just like he had promised, they were lying in bed in the dark when Viv started laughing again.
âI canât stop thinking about that ladyâs face. She was so horrified. Iâm sure she was going to go pray for us as soon as she could get back to her church.â
Five chuckled. âWell, you did put on a good show.â
âYeah, but was it worth that ticket and the increase in our auto insurance?â
Five pulled her in close to him and kissed her cheek. âAbsolutely one-hundred percent worth it.â
Viv sighed and laid her head on his chest. âYou know whatâs weird though? I kind of liked it.â
âOf course you did. Whatâs not to like?â
She rolled her eyes. âNot that. Doing it in public like that. Where people could see us? It was kind of a rush.â
âHuh. Well, thatâs certainly good to know. Let me file that away along with all the other dirty things my wife likes.â
âThat file must be getting pretty big by now. Your wife sounds like freak,â she laughed.
âYou have no idea.â
A few days later, Viv was standing in front of her closet after her morning shower, wrapped in a towel and staring at the empty space that used to be occupied by more clothes.
âFive! Where the hell are all my work pants?â she yelled out.
A minute later, Five strolled in with his coffee, looking suspiciously innocent. âWhat do you mean?â
She eyed him up with a hand on her hip. âMy pants are missing. Know anything about this?â
He shook his head with a smile and took a sip from his mug. âNot a clue. Weird. Guess youâre going to just have to wear a skirt to work.â
Viv narrowed her eyes. âWhat are you doing?â
Five shrugged and walked to her closet, looking at the line of skirts. Picking out a tight, black skirt that would be way too short to wear to work, he placed it on the bed. âWear that one.â
âFiveâŠI canât wear-â
âI thought Iâd come by and take you out to lunch today,â he interrupted with a gleam in his eye.
Now she understood. This skirt was for him, not her. And she was pretty sure she knew what lunch meant.
With a shake of her head she smiled. âYou know, this skirt would actually be perfect to wear today. Even though thereâs a good chance I might accidentally give everyone at work a look at my Area 51.â
âYour what?â
She shrugged. âIâm trying out new names for my vag. Area 51. Like it?â
âI honestly donât know what I did to deserve you,â he replied sarcastically.
âYes, you do,â she grinned.
Five just smirked knowingly and left the room to let her finish getting ready. But when she opened her underwear drawer, she found that it was empty as well.
âGod damn it, heâs good,â she muttered to herself with a smile.
Viv spent the rest of the morning trying to avoid the scandalized looks of her coworkers while also trying to pull her skirt down so it wouldnât ride all the way up and show the entire lab her bare bikini biscuit, which she had decided was her new favorite term. In between wrestling with her completely inappropriate outfit, she kept an eye on the clock. She was supposed to meet Five downstairs in the lobby at noon. He didnât say where he was taking her, but she figured that was because she was the lunch.
Finally, it was noon and Viv rushed downstairs, fully anticipating a nice long lunch hour consisting of an orgasm or two. When she saw Five she hugged him and gave him a kiss.
âSo, where are you taking me?â
He let his hands roam over her hips and down to her ass that was just barely covered by the skirt. âI donât care. Wherever you want. What sounds good?â
Viv frowned. âWait. Are you actually taking me out to lunch?â
He smiled innocently. âThatâs what I said I was going to do. Why? What were you thinking?â
With a very suspicious look at her husband, Viv cocked her head to the side. âWhat was up with the skirt then? And the no panties?â
Again, Five just shrugged like he had no idea what she was getting at. âNothing. I just like that skirt, it looks nice on you. And you probably left all your underwear in the dryer like you always do.â
Viv let out a frustrated sigh. âYou are so weird. Fine, letâs go across the street to that cafĂ©. If I can make it there without flashing the entire city my pink velvet sausage wallet.â
Five choked on a shocked laugh. âYour what?â
âWhat? You donât like that one? I thought it was a winner.â
âAnd Iâm the weird one,â he said with a shake of his head.
After their actual lunch of food, where Viv fully expected Five to blink her out of there and fuck her somewhere private, but never did; they walked back across to Vivâs building where she went to give him a kiss good bye.
âHang on. Iâll go up with you.â
She raised an eyebrow at him. âWhy?â
âCanât I want to spend a few more minutes with my beautiful wife? Is that a crime?â
âYouâre up to something, Hargreeves; I know you are.â
But Five gave no further explanation, so they walked to the elevator together. Vivâs lab was on the 20th floor, and the elevators were all packed with workers returning from lunch. When the doors opened, a throng of people pushed in, filling it almost to capacity. Five had led her in with a hand on the small of her back and they ended up in the back corner, which Viv didnât really like since they were packed in so tight. She leaned in closer to Five so she didnât have to be so close to the other people.
As soon as the doors closed and everyone pushed the buttons to their respective floors, Viv felt Fiveâs hand on her ass. She turned and gave him a little smile, since that wasnât anything out of the ordinary for him to do. But what he did next certainly was. She stood there while he continued south with his hand, stopping just below the short hemline of her skirt. Then, with a move so smooth she wasnât sure how he did it, his hand was under the back of her skirt with his fingers sneaking forward between her legs.
Viv let out a loud gasp, then quickly shut her mouth as several people turned to look at her. Five continued sliding his fingers forward until they were perfectly positioned, the slick from her rapidly dampening pussy coating them as he started to gently finger her. Viv tried to step away, but he held her to him with a firm grip on her arm, and he moved her body so that her back was closer to the elevator wall. It obviously wouldnât take much for anyone near them to realize what was going on. But as with most elevators full of people, it was awkwardly quiet and everyone just stared straight ahead or at the moving floor numbers.
Viv tried to clench her legs together, then she tried to wriggle her way out of his grasp, but neither one of those things worked and Five didnât let up. As the elevator climbed the floors, stopping periodically to let more people on and off, she started to get more and more turned on. He really was an expert finger fucker, and he knew all the right things to do to drive her crazy.
There were still plenty of people around, although it had thinned out a little. Five pretended like nothing was going on, just staring straight ahead like everyone else. Viv had to close her eyes and bite her lip to hold in the whimpers that were dangerously close to creeping out of her mouth. When Five sank his middle finger inside of her, fucking her with it while also fingering her clit, she couldnât suppress a moan. When a man started to turn around to look, she coughed loudly to try and cover it up and he turned back towards the doors.
âYouâre so close, arenât you baby? Donât let anyone hear you.â Five whispered so softly in her ear that it was almost inaudible. But she heard it, and she also felt his lips graze over her ear lobe when he said it.
It wasnât fair. Five had an entire car to fully unleash himself in before. He didnât have to be quiet or hold back his orgasm. This was a totally different level of torture; even if Viv was both loving and hating every minute of it.
Finally, after what seemed like the slowest crawling elevator ride in history, the last person got out on the 19th floor. When the doors closed behind them, the long, shaky moan from Vivian echoed through the empty space.
âYou fucking bastard,â she panted out before finally breaking free from his grasp on her arm, as well as his hand under her skirt.
Five just smirked proudly and then quickly slammed his fist against the stop button, halting the elevator between floors with a jolt and setting off the alarm. He was back on her in a second, pushing her against the back wall and kissing her hard, one hand on the side of her neck while the other slid back under her skirt. This time he didnât care about being discreet, and he shoved the front of the skirt up so she was fully exposed for him and he picked up where he left off.
Viv cried into his mouth as he lifted one of her legs up to his waist, holding her under her thigh while he circled her clit over and over again with his hand. His body was pressing into hers and he was breathing hard and fast; kissing her neck while she whined for him.
âDid you like getting fucked under your skirt like that? With everyone around? Knowing you could get caught at any second?â he murmured.
âFuck, I hate you so much. But yesâŠoh godâŠyes I liked it.â
âYou better finish up for me, angel. We canât keep this stopped forever. If these doors open, everyone will see what a horny little slut you are.â
With each heaving breath Viv let out a whimper until he had her completely falling apart; her hands raking through his hair and her head thrown back.
âThatâs my girl, keep going,â he urged as he pushed harder and faster.
That was all she could take and then she was yelling much too loudly for no one else to hear, even if they were trapped in there alone with alarm bells blasting. Her cries kept going, too, her body pulsing against Fiveâs hand as she clutched onto his arms. When she could finally stop, Five pulled away and lowered her skirt for her. The giant grin on his face was incredibly annoying, but Viv could only let out a wheezy laugh as she tried to compose herself again.
âFuckâŠâ
âSorry, darling, we donât have time for that. This will have to suffice until you get home later,â he quipped as he wiped his hand off on his pant leg and then pushed the button to stop the alarm and get the elevator moving again.
They were only one floor away from her stop, and when the doors opened, Viv found herself face to face with several of her co-workers looking very concerned.
âOh my gosh, Vivian! Are you ok? We heard the alarm and then we thought we heard screaming.â
Five smirked and looked at his wife, cooly leaning with his back against the doors to keep them open for her, his hands shoved in his pants pockets.
Viv smoothed out her skirt and ran a hand down the back of her hair, before faking a laugh and waving a dismissive hand at the group of worried faces.
âOh, no, Iâm fine. It was silly, actually. Five accidentally bumped into the alarm button and it scared me so I screamed. Iâm so over dramatic sometimes,â she explained with a self-deprecating eye roll.
That seemed to satisfy everyone well enough, despite some suspicious looks, and they slowly scattered back to their work stations. When they were alone again, Viv turned to Five in a huff.
âIâve said it before, but you really are an asshole.â
Five grabbed her hand and pulled her into him, holding her around her waist. âSounded to me like you were having a pretty good time. And youâre always saying how I donât listen to you. Well, I listened this time. You wanted public sex; I delivered.â
Viv couldnât really argue with that, so she just shook her head and put her arms around his shoulders. âAs much as I enjoyed that little ride you gave my panty hamster back there, consider this war.â
âPanty hamster? What is wrong with you?â
Viv laughed and kissed him before he stepped back on the elevator, still smiling at his crazy but adorable wife while the doors closed between them.
It was a week later when the war continued. They had a deal worked out every month where Viv would let Five drag her off to their small, public library in town and sit there while he pored over old, dusty textbooks of the most boring variety in exchange for him letting her pick out any movie to go see and he had to go along with no complaining. This weekend it was library day.
She hadnât even been doing anything all that sexual. Just resting her hand on his leg while he scanned through some old physics textbooks and she leafed through a mystery novel. Itâs not like sheâd never rested her hand there before. Or absent-mindedly stroked her thumb over his thigh. But for whatever reason, this time, it was getting to Five. Maybe it was the fact that he was surrounded by books, and the quiet of the library, which heâd always loved. Or maybe it was weird, suppressed memories of him and Dolores in a similar building, only with fewer walls and less readable options.
Five tried to block it out of his mind, instead concentrating on the long, drawn-out equations and laws of thermo-dynamics. But he found himself reading the same sentences over and over again, his mind wandering to her hand and the warmth of her skin penetrating the fabric of his pants. Then his mind wandered even more. To what he knew her hand felt like on other areas of his body. Despite the internal battle in his head, visions of her stroking him, hard and fast, while kissing him and biting at his neck were working their way to the forefront. And unfortunately, she had noticed.
âSomething wrong there, honey? You look a little flushed,â Viv asked with a smile as she moved her hand further up his thigh.
Five cleared his throat. He really didnât want her to win this one. âNo, Iâm fine, thank you.â
After he continued pretending to be engrossed in his book, Viv took it one step further and pushed her palm against the swelling between his legs, rubbing it over the top of his pants. She heard the unmistakable sound of a quiet groan and she jumped a little when he suddenly grabbed her wrist.
âNice try, angel. You may have me worked up just like you always know how to do, but two can play at this game.â
He held her hand on his crotch while using the other to pull her chair closer to him. A loud screeching noise filled the air as it scraped over the floor and several people looked up to stare. Knowing that Five was trying to embarrass her on purpose, she just smiled over at him and pushed her hand in harder.
It was difficult to keep up the façade, though, when Five was returning the favor by shoving his free hand up the sundress she was wearing and rubbing her over her panties. She sucked in a breath and closed her eyes. When she retaliated with a squeeze and her own rough tug it made him growl deep in his throat.
After a couple minutes of under the table rub and tug, they were both quickly losing their resolve. It didnât really matter who was going to win anymore.
âWhat do you say we take this one step further?â Five asked quietly in between ragged breaths.
Viv took a glance around her. There werenât many people there, but there were a few. There was absolutely no way they going to be able to just start fucking without anyone seeing. And last time she checked, sex in a public setting was still a crime.
âAs much as I want toâŠand believe me I really want toâŠI donât think this is the best place for that.â
Five ran a finger inside her underwear and she let out a tiny squeak before shoving her hand down his pants and grabbing hold of his dick. Five jolted in his seat, his knees hitting the underside of the table.
âFuck, Vivie,â he whispered. âThis is happening. I am going to fuck you in this library right here, right now.â
She looked around again and then noticed the quiet reading room in the back. It was used mostly by students for studying but it had several small cubicles with desks for privacy. Perfect.
Viv removed her hand from his pants and pushed his away from her. With a smile she stood up and offered out her hand to him.
âCome on, I have an idea.â
Tugging at the front of his pants, Five looked up at her. âSo, I have to walk across the library with a raging hard-on? Thanks a lot.â
âWell, itâs either that or you sit here and wait until itâs gone and your balls are blue as fuck.â
âFair point. Just try to stay in front of me so I donât look like some disgusting pervert.â
âYou are a disgusting pervert.â
His eyes narrowed at her remark, but he stood up and took her hand while Viv led him to the back room, all while trying to hide his awkward boner from the suspicious eyes of the librarian as they walked past. Once inside the study room they could see there was only one other cubicle occupied. It was by a college-aged student that seemed oblivious to his surroundings and had earbuds shoved in his ears as he tapped the rhythm of the music out on the desk with his pencil.
Viv saw an empty one in the back corner and they hurried over. She pulled her panties off and shoved them into one of Fiveâs pockets before straddling his thighs. He uncuffed his dress shirt at the wrists and rolled his sleeves up to his elbows like he was going to start in on some major work, before he started undoing his pants. Viv draped her arms over his shoulders, running her fingers softly through his hair and pushing it back over his ear.
âDo you know how impossibly sexy you are?â she asked in between her own quick breaths, trying to keep her voice down. Leaning in close, her lips brushed over his neck. âSometimes I look at you and I canât even believe youâre mine.â
âThis is supposed to be a quick fuck, you know that right?â he asked as he revealed his straining cock to her.
âSo?â
âSo, when you say amazingly romantic things like that to me, it makes me want to take my time with you.â
Viv moved further up his lap, adjusting herself carefully, and sank down onto his dick. The quiet moan he let out sounded much louder in the quiet of the reading room. Viv breathed out a soft laugh at his inability to hold back. The skirt of her dress covered them so that at least they werenât totally exposed, although it was going to be pretty obvious what was going on if someone walked by. She didnât care about that, though, because all she wanted to do was let Five take over and make her feel good in the way only he knew how.
With her arms wrapped around his shoulders and her chest held tightly to his, her lips found their way to his neck again. With her face pressed into his warm skin, she closed her eyes and breathed in, convinced that he must emit some type of pheromone that was made specifically for her. She imagined this invisible chemical compound drifting out of his pores, being driven by his bounding jugular pulse, and going directly to the unevolved part of her brain that was activated only by pure sexual impulse. Because there was no way anyone else in the world would be able to turn her on as completely as Five did, just on scent alone.
âCanât I tell you nice things and still want you to fuck me senseless?â she purred.
The answer came in the form of Five roughly pushing her hips down and forward, using his strength to pump her body back and forth on top of him, despite what he had said about wanting to take his time.
Viv whimpered softly next to his ear and she could hear the sexy grunting noises he was making under his breath as he thrust her aggressively over his cock. Her body was being driven exclusively by his strength, with his fingers digging into her hips and ass; the muscles in his forearms straining as he worked hard and fast. The chair started to creak with the movement and the legs thumped and scraped on the floor.
âSomeoneâs going to hear us,â she whispered, her breath catching in her throat.
âI donât care,â Five answered, looking her in the eyes while his hair fell over his own.
Viv bit her lip to suppress a moan and she smiled at him. âWhat would you do if we got caught?â
âThey can watch all they want. But nothing is going to stop me from Fucking. You.â
His last two words were accentuated with more forceful thrusts, slamming her down so hard that the chair was loudly shoved backwards.
âDo more of that, please Five,â she begged, knowing he couldnât resist doing anything that drove her crazy like that.
Five gritted his teeth and continued to pound her body into his, the hot sleeve of her cunt sliding tightly over his dick faster and faster until he was sure neither one of them were going to hold on much longer. The chair underneath him was complaining loudly and Five tried to quiet it by bracing them with his foot against the floor, the sole of his expensive Oxford leaving black scuff marks on the faded linoleum as his heel skittered across.
Vivâs hands were in his hair and the back of his neck as she desperately tried to muffle her cries into his shoulder. She could feel her clit banging into his pubic bone over and over again until she was dangerously close to coming. She should have been in a hurry, trying to speed things up and will herself to finish so that they wouldnât get caught. But the more she thought about it, the more she liked the idea of it. She wanted someone to hear. She wanted someone to see.
âYou feel so good like this. I want everyone to see, too. Let them see how good you fuck me; that Iâm the only one that gets to touch you. Iâm the only one that gets to ride your dick. Let them watch while you make me come, just for you, Five.â
âJesus, VivieâŠâ he moaned into her hair. âIf you say one more thing like that, Iâm going to-â
âCome on, baby; let this whole library know how Number Five Hargreeves fucks his wife,â she groaned next to his ear with a smile.
âOh, fuuuck, yes!â he growled much too loudly, throwing his head back and digging his fingers into her waist while they both climaxed together.
Viv startled and put her hand over his mouth, but it was too late. There was no way in hell no one had heard that.
âFive!â she scolded half-heartedly in between heaving breaths. She was already trying to climb off of him on stiff and cramped legs. âWhat the hell?â
âSorry, Vivie,â he panted, helping her to stand up. ïżœïżœïżœYou did ask for it, though.â
Once she fixed her dress again and looked back over, she saw he was smiling, not even giving a shit that he had alerted half the library. Viv risked a quick peek over the cubicle wall and by some miracle there didnât appear to be anyone around. She may have talked a big game during the heat of the moment, but she hadnât really wanted to endure the humiliation of getting caught.
She leaned her butt against the desk, trying to catch her own breath as she shook her head at him, watching as he nonchalantly zipped up his pants again. He passed a hand through his hair and looked up at her, somehow managing to look even more handsome than usual.
âHow do you manage to do that to me?â
âWhat do I do?â
âMake me fall in love with you over and over again.â
Five laughed softly, looking slightly embarrassed. âOnly you would turn a quick, public fuck session into a romantic date.â
After they smoothed their clothes and hair out as much as possible, and their underpants were back where they were supposed to be, they emerged from their little cubicle. They only got about ten steps out, though, when they were stopped in their tracks by a very stern and irritated librarian who blocked their path with her hands on her hips.
âI would like you both to know that we do not take these shenanigans lightly, and I have alerted the police who will be here shortly. As Iâm sure you are quite aware, there are laws against indecent exposure and lewd public acts.â
Viv didnât know what to say or do, except for turning beet red and looking at her feet. But Five just flashed the lady his best innocent smile.
âActually, there was no indecent exposure. We made sure to keep it classy.â
The librarian huffed loudly and pointed a finger in Fiveâs face. âNow, listen here, youâŠyouâŠhooligan! I am used to having to remind the teenagers to behave in here, but you are two grown adults. Itâs disgraceful! You should be ashamed of yourselves!â
As Viv stood there, trying to decide if she should laugh or not while continuing to stare at the floor, the kid that had been studying at one of the other cubicles got up to leave, but stopped in front of Five on his way out, a big grin on his face. He offered out his hand for a fist bump.
âDude, way to go, that was awesome. Seriously, best study session ever.â His eyes roamed over Vivian. âWhoa, sheâs hot, too.â
Ignoring the other guyâs attempt at male bonding, Five put his arm protectively around Vivâs waist and pulled her against his hip. With another heart-melting smirk that had her trying not to laugh again, he raised his eyebrows at her. Viv could feel the tell-tale staticky sensation vibrate against her body as Five was already flexing his hands.
âReady to leave, darling?â
Viv nodded with a smile. âYep.â
âTell the cops we said hi,â Five snarked just before opening one of his convenient portals and jumping them both out of there.
They landed slightly off from his intended mark in the parking lot, Vivâs back slamming into their car door. Post-orgasm blinks were always a bit trickier for him.
âOw!â she cried.
âSorry, are you ok?â
Vivie nodded, rubbing her back but still smiling. âNice one, by the way. Poor lady, though. At least sheâll have something to talk about at her next knitting circle.â
Five laughed. âI donât think they talk about lewd public acts in knitting circles. At least not hers, Iâm guessing. But Iâm pretty happy that I got called a hooligan. Thatâs a new one.â
As they both got into the car and Five started it up, he turned to his wife, with her messy hair and flushed cheeks, and smiled.
âSo, where should we plan our next little adventure?â
âNext adventure? Uh-oh, I got you addicted to being a sex criminal now, didnât I?â
He leaned in and gave her a gentle kiss. âI think itâs more like Iâm just addicted to you, angel.â
âSee? There you go again, being annoyingly sexy and making me fall in love with you again.â
A cop car pulled in, and Five drove quickly out of there, one hand on the wheel and the other on her leg. He gave her bare thigh a squeeze as he turned out into traffic. âAs long as you keep feeling that way, Vivie, consider me one very happy and lucky man.â

Alice should wear glasses and has them most times but on set she doesnt carry them so she sometimes bumps into set things and they have to redo a whole scene
Gwen is basically like Anusia mode where she smiles very brightly and the contrast between her and the character is insane
Dyhard actor AU because i said so
Celia has a jacket she comes to set with that everyone recognizes her by for some reason
Sam has to be 5 minutes late all the time because the universe hates him and he gets stuck in traffic almost always
Alice tries really hard to make people crack when they are in a scene with her

For actor au, just like. Explain the premise to me?
I don't quite understand what you mean by it.
OK OK SO SO
Hermitcraft is a series thatâs been going on for awhile in the Actor Au.
Now Hermitcraft in reality doesnât have much lore but the lore it does have and stuff is whatâs acted out. The series is similar to Friends in a way and Young Sheldon(best examples I can think of to a degree.) but also each big event in a season is the main focus for that season.
The life series is canon but itâs a whole ass show. Some Hermitcraft actors are unable to act in it so the stunt doubles(camera account or a Helsmit) take part of it in their place. Nobody was able to tell the difference even after s3 where the hermit actors took on the role of the Traffic SMP character. The stunt doubles are all mostly related to a hermit, example being Tango and his Stunt Double Iâll call Tek(original I know. The guy has no name yet) they are uncle and nephew.
I think I went off topicâŠok so basically Hermitcraft and Life Series are tv series that are popular. Hermits and friends star in each one.
Each season has a general theme and most episodes are moments in the hermits lives and hanging together.
I think thatâs a good explanation? Honestly came up with this au half asleep
Edit: So yaâll can ask the actors stuff! It can range from past projects to relationships with cast members or or some drama and see the differences between the characters and actors for some.

if blue could be happiness
PAIRING. na jaemin x female!reader WORD COUNT. 2.4k CONTAINS. angst, romance, actor!au WARNINGS. implied smut, just the reader being sad and in her head a lot, pretty reflective and retrospective, not much plot more emotions and vibes PLAYLIST. if blue could be happiness - florist | never goodbye - nct dream | liability - lorde NOTE. turns out i love complex female characters and depressing stories and men who fall harder⊠who is sensing a theme in my works? also im kinda back hahahaha hope everyone has been well xx. iâd say iâll be more active now but i have a bad track record. that being said, please do give this some love and interact and let me know ur thoughts bc that will motivate me to be more active and post more things!!! would love to chat with you all <3
All you have ever known is being alone, so you canât help but pull away when Jaemin comes into your life. Too bad heâs here to stay.
NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU LOVE TRAVELING, there is a wave of relief that hits you when the plane finally makes its descent in New York City. The tall buildings shimmer against the twilight sky, and even from so far away, you can sense the hustle and bustle of the always-busy city. You can imagine people getting off work after staying late, going into bars for happy hour. They laugh and giggle with their friends with a drink in their hands. New York City is always alive, and thatâs why you love being there, as the fervor and excitement almost allows you to forget about how empty you feel all the time.
Despite that, there is a blue stillness around. A cloud of comfort, broken by a brief anticipation.
Your fingers curl around your seatbelt, waiting for the indication that you could finally take it off and leave the plane. It had been a month since you were last home, as you had been in Paris for the shoot of your upcoming movie. There is no doubt that your time there had been lovely, for you participated in every cliche there was for a Parisian tourist⊠eating too many croissants every day, visiting the Eiffel Tower, getting lost in the Louvre. The actual work you had gone to Paris for also concluded smoothly, but film shoots were never a problem for someone like you who actually enjoys their job.
None of that mattered though. You were aching to finally be home. Itâs difficult to ignore your heart that is practically beating out of your chest, but that may be for reasons other than simply arriving back in your favorite city.
Reasons that are called Na Jaemin.
You wonder if he thought about you nearly as much as you did over the past month. And why would you, consider that you were the one who pushed him away. But you keep on wondering this as you leave the plane. He plagues your mind at the baggage claim, when you get into the car waiting for you, and the entire ride home. The buzz of your phone on the leather seat next to you is the only thing that pulls you out of your daze, eyes blindly following whatever buildings you could see in the distance. It was getting late, but New York never slept.
It buzzes again, and you finally blink before reaching for your phone. Itâs a text from your sister, who had been house-sitting for you (or, more of an excuse to hang out in the city).
sister: he just showed up.
Your eyebrows furrow. The texts keep coming in
sister: (name). sister: JAEMIN IS HERE sister:Â when are you getting back?
Movements growing frantic, you quickly look outside for a landmark, realizing you were still pretty far from your apartment. And with the city traffic, it would at least be another hour.
you: WDYM HEâS HERE? you: i wonât be home for a while you: tell him to go wait in my room
She sends you a thumbs up and you sigh, leaning back into your seat to close your eyes in hopes of getting some rest. Your efforts prove to be futile, of course, because heâs all you can think about.
The first time you met him, you were drunk out of your mind. It was Ryujinâs party for actors to gather and mingle if you remembered correctly, but truthfully your memories of that night were pretty foggy. Everyone was dressed nicely and there was expensive liquor lining the countertops, but you ungracefully stumbled into Jaemin, a new and rising actor whose name was everywhere on the tabloids, in a corner somewhere. See, you were normally always on your best behavior, with perfectly styled hair, manicured nails, and hands folded politely. You never tripped over your own feet. You never spoke out of turn. You never did what you werenât supposed to do, which was a long list considering you were an A-list actress with an image pristine like glass. People looked up to you.
So you had really no explanation for how Jaeminâs hands ended up around your waist, his lips chasing your own. Your body was hot against his, aching for his touch, and when you finally gave in, there was no stopping either of you. His lips moved ferociously against yours, lighting your skin on fire wherever they touched you.
It was no surprise you ended up in his bed later that night, but it was equally less of a surprise that you left the next morning before he could even wake up.
Yet, that was only the beginning. You seemed to run into him everywhere. At parties of mutual friends, you didnât even realize you shared. At dress fittings, because the stylist for your next movie also happened to be his personal stylist. At the new coffee shop you decided to try out, and then realized was his favorite.
Suddenly, you couldnât run away anymore. He was going to be in your life, whether you willed for it or not, so you entertained it for a brief minute. So you kissed him at parties and showed up at dress fittings with your hand in his. Every Sunday, you went to his favorite coffee shop together. You went to sleep in his bed and woke up in his arms. His name was linked to yours, and everyone talked about it, but you didnât care. You had relinquished all control of your life. Â
It was great, until it wasnât. Until he got too close, and you went too far.
That night, there was a downpour in New York City and you retreated back into the comforts of your home. Of the perfect, orderly life you built for yourself.
And the next morning, you left for Paris.
There is a tremble in your fingers as you enter the code to your apartment. Why was he here? You pushed him away, and then he was meant to stay away. People donât usually try so hard to remain in your life. Probably because of how distant you keep your heart from them. Or maybe thatâs why you began doing it in the first place. Itâs been so long, you cannot even remember what came first.
Your sister greets you with a worried smile as you enter. She takes your coat from you and you take a moment to set down your belongings, including the large suitcase you had been hauling behind you. The longer you take to go into your room, the longer you have to prepare for whatever is about to happen.
â(Name). Heâs been waiting.â Your sister says, looking pointedly at your room door. Youâve dug your toes so far into black boots that you are afraid they may appear at the other end. There is a fleeting touch of comfort on your shoulder before she walks away. With a sigh, you take off your shoes and arrange them neatly on the shoe rack.
In an apartment as big as yours, the walk to your room is shorter than you remember, but you know you cannot delay this any further. Jaemin is definitely aware of your presence, no matter how softly your clothed feet hit the wooden floor of your apartment, so you finally open the door. Â
Your heart stills when you see him. Heâs sitting at the foot of your bed, wearing a fluffy brown jacket and a hat to match. Itâs pretty obvious how he looks out of place against your cold, blue walls.
âHi.â His smile is cautious like you might run away upon seeing him. His worries are not entirely absurd though, as you do consider backing away. But his eyes are warm, and you remember how much you are aching for his touch. You canât help but take another step towards him.
âHi.â Your voice cracks and he notices, but you both choose to ignore it.
âHow was Paris?â
âIt was good.â The temperature of your room must be near freezing, but somehow your words are colder. Jaemin winces, subtle yet noticeable, and stands up, rubbing his hands on his jeans. You pray that he doesnât move any closer to you, as then you might actually run away, and somehow, he listens.
The heart is a silly little thing, because you find yourself disappointed at the distance between Jaemin and you, even though this ruin was your doing.
â(Name)...â Youâre not sure what heâs going to say, but the deep breath he takes before speaking lets you know that you are not ready to hear it. Not yet.
âSorry for making you wait. Got stuck in traffic.â You begin moving around the room to straighten up a few things that suddenly looked out of order, even though no one had entered your room while you were gone.
âOh, uh, itâs okay.â His gaze follows your every move. âI hope your sister wasnât uncomfortable with me just showing up.â
âNo, not uncomfortable. Just surprised that youâre here.â Arranging your lipsticks from the darkest red to the lightest nude seemed like the perfect task at this moment, so you stand in the corner of your room farthest from Jaemin, hovering over your vanity.
He sighs. âMe too.â
This makes you glance back at him, eyebrows raised. âYou are⊠also surprised that youâre here?â
âYeah, considering how you just left me, why would I want to be here?â Jaemin is always honest, and you appreciate him for that, but you canât ignore the guilt that pools in your stomach as you finally meet his eyes.
Your lips purse, and if youâre feeling anything, you donât let it show. âWhy are you here, then?â
This is the question that ultimately pushes him over the edge. Jaeminâs expression darkens as he finally closes the distance between you two, stopping just close enough so you could feel his breath against yours.
âYouâre seriously asking me this? After everything?â He asks incredulously, his eyes searching for answers in your own
âI told you it was over.â
âOkay, but why?â You donât answer, but you also donât step away. âWhat are you afraid of?â Your lip quivers.
âStop,â you whisper, as you feel your resolve starting to break. Jaemin takes a step back but keeps going.
âThat Iâll break your heart? That Iâll leave you and go away?â He lets out an empty, pained laugh. âWell, isnât that what youâve done?â
âJaemin, Iââ You begin to speak, but now itâs his turn to cut you off.
âBut despite all that, I still love you.â Your eyes widen, and an unknown, indescribable feeling overtakes your entire being. A single tear escapes you, of guilt, and fear, of love and longing.
The room is silent for a minute, and then another.
You are unsure of what the proper response to his confession should be, but whatever it is, you have messed it up already by waiting so long. You owe him an answer, because of everything youâve put him through. Because you walked into his life, and then walked out, doing it first as you were afraid he would soon enough. But above all, because you loved him too, despite everything you had tried to convince yourself of.
âIâm sorry.â You arenât sure how to put all your thoughts in words, so you decide to apologize first, instead. And even though it may be a deflection, you hope he realizes that itâs sincere.
But thereâs disbelief in his eyes, and you hate that he doubts you, even though youâve given him every reason to. âThatâs it?â
âYouâre right. I left because I wanted to do it before you could.â You continue, providing him with the honesty he deserved from day one. âI was so sure you would, because people always leave anyway, you know? They come into my life, I get used to them, then they leave, and I have to get used to life without them. Thereâs only so many times you can do that before you simply cannot anymore.â
Jaeminâs expression is unreadable as he considers what you said. âSo, the solution was to push me away, even though I told you I wasnât going anywhere that night?â Now his tone is neutral, and you are unable to figure out if he is mad, upset, or disappointed by your explanation.
âDo you know how many times Iâve been told that?â
You had always known that the film world was a lonely one. Your dad was a producer and your mom was an actress. They fell in love when they were twenty and fell out of love when they were twenty-five, with affairs and scandals galore. That left you and your sister, mere toddlers, stuck in the middle, as they threatened to leave each other. Eventually, they just left you. Despite all that, you chose to go down the same path, as the film world was the only world you knew. And then you went through it all over it again, as friends, boyfriends, managers, and mentors all came into your life, only to leave again. The only person who had stuck around was your sister, but because she had to.
Jaemin was the first person who ever wanted to be in your life, by choice.
âI shouldâve been more clear then. If I had told you I loved you that night, would you have stayed?â He asks, his voice breaking.
âI donât think anything wouldâve stopped me that night,â you say quietly, remembering how quickly you booked a flight to Paris, and leaving one week earlier than you were originally supposed to for your shoot.
âAnd how about now?â
You look into Jaeminâs eyes and see only a love for yourself, despite everything, just as he said. And in that moment, the heaviness that you had been carrying around in your heart for as long as you can remember finally settles.
âI want to stay.â You admit.
âSo whatâs stopping you?â
The question that has plagued you forever now rises to your lips, in a bout of vulnerability you never saw for yourself. âPlease donât leave me.â
At that, Jaemin is immediately reaching for you, the touch that you had yearned for finally engulfing you. He gently cups your face, pressing his forehead against yours. âIâm here, arenât I? And, I always will be. I wonât give up on us.â You nod, and return his touch, tugging on the collar of his jacket to pull him closer. âAnd if you leave, Iâll come after you, again and again, like I did today. I just needed to know that you want this as much as I do.â
âI love you.â
And then you kiss him like you never have before, like blue water in the forests of love. Because if blue could be happiness, that is all you ever want.

I have an idea for an AU and I canât stop thinking about it, itâs grian but as a 80s singer or movie director(similar to David Bowie) but he writes and all of the traffic series are like books he writes or movies he makes, but heâs kinda like a Jim Henson(my husband<33(this is a joke btw!!!)) mixed with a Harlan Ellison.
Twist is heâs sporadically gay and very flamboyant. (This all might just be a cover up in my brain to give Grian a mullet)
But like I have designs, and ideas for other characters like scar being a actor (or another musician if I do go singer path which I prob wonât)and Mumbo being like his assistant
Iâm very obsessed with this idea, I might write for it.

âIâm sorry, what?â
One life or death situation was already enough for you.
Just because of who you were going to be acting alongside with.
âSeungmin is a nice person,â Changbin explained gently, like he was coaxing a child, intentionally ignoring the way your face scrunched up at what he said. âI did my research, ok? Everyone only has high praises for him, both on and off set. Isnât that enough to be trusted?â
You bit your tongue to stop yourself from digging a deeper hole to lie in. The answer was noâit wasnât enough to be trusted. Now, at this point, someone wouldâve had half the mind to ask why you were so sure about your vendetta against the man.
You crossed your arms and leaned back to rest comfortably on the carseat, turning your head to face the window and glare at the world outside, continuing on with their lives like a well-followed routine.
âY/N, this is a big opportunityââ
âI said, turn the car around. Iâm not attending this cursed table reading,â you pinched the bridge of your nose to keep the incoming migraine at bay.
âYou really think Iâll willingly step into a room with the devilâs incarnate? Iâd rather get shotââ
ââsensing a great shot!â
