Summary- A collection of memories and mood boards documenting you and Jake from engagement to wedding day.

It was January 5th now, you knew the chances of Jake being home for Christmas were slim but secretly you’d hoped he would be. He’d begged you not to spend the holiday alone his mother insisting you come to Texas so you’d flown out and spent two fantastic weeks with his family. They had welcomed you with open arms, taking you to all of Jake’s old haunts and involving you in their family traditions. You’d never been close to your parents so the overwhelming love you received from the Seresin family was something you’d never experienced before. You’d gotten to talk to him sporadically over the holiday but you could tell he was heartbroken he couldn’t be there with you. The time went by too fast and before you knew it the 5th had arrived and you were stepping off your plane in San Diego, Coyote was waiting to pick you up and you couldn’t wait to get home to your own bed. You’d put up a small tree with some lights before you left just to keep the seasonal depression at bay, but as you unlocked the door to your shared home you were met with what could only be described as a winter wonderland. The house was covered in lights, decorated ornately with paper snowflakes and there in front of a brand new 8 foot Christmas tree was Jake. He grinned his thousand watt smile at you as you dropped all of your bags and launched yourself into his arms.

“Hey Stormy girl, did ya miss me?”

You let out a watery laugh as you began to sob in earnest, he held you close and pressed kisses into your hair, reassuring you that he was home and this was real. When you finally settled he sat you both down on the couch in front of the massive tree, you were still in shock that not only was he here but he had somehow managed to transform your house into Santa’s workshop.

“What is all this baby?” You whispered against his lips, he’d never been big on Christmas but he knew you loved it so the thoughtfulness and effort put in after a nearly 3 month deployment was not lost on you.

“We didn’t get Christmas together darlin’ and I know being apart has been hard as hell these past few months” he stands up now, walking over to the tree to pick up a small gift you hadn’t even noticed. You gasp as tears well up in your eyes, Jake Seresin is down on one knee surrounded by a literal Christmas wonderland, and he’s about to ask you for forever. “Yes!” You blurt out, causing a belly laugh to erupt from him.

“You didn’t even let me ask sweetheart”

“You can but my answer is still yes, I just want to be yours, forever and ever.”

He closes the distance between you to slide his grandma’s engagement ring on your finger, kissing you in the glow of the twinkle lights.

“My heart’s been borrowed and yours has been blue, all's well that ends well to end up with you”

A joint bachelor/bachelorette party at the hard deck, all the boys had suggested strip clubs and hookers but Jake just wanted a night with everyone they loved and to maybe get you a little tipsy so he could proposition you for a hookup in the bathroom. You were dancing with Phoenix and a few of your other girlfriends, dressed in the tiniest white dress with a bedazzled cowboy hat and veil that said bride on the front. He didn’t think he could love you more than this moment; eyes full of joy and singing “Don’t stop believing” at the top of your lungs. He’d even let you convince him to wear the ridiculous groom t shirt you’d gotten him, taking all the jesting in stride even though he secretly loved it. He’d always give you whatever you want.

You were a spitfire when you wanted to be, always first to defend him if some cocky asshole got mouthy, he had been an absolute dick to everyone around him for years but since that first dagger squad mission he’d been trying his damndest to make amends.

That was one of the many ways he’d known you were the one, you’d been dating quietl after you and Rooster’s failed engagement had crashed and burned over a year before. During a particularly stressful training day the two had come to blows, both of them ending up in the infirmary as Rooster continued to pelt insults his way. Jake was trying to take it in stride but your temper could only take so much. You were professional but vicious in your descent on him, refusing to let Bradley Bradshaw and his unresolved emotional baggage dismantle all the work Jake had put in to better himself. You’d been a champion for him no matter what and he wasn’t used to anyone having his back, it took his breath away just how much you believed in him.

Watching you now he felt his heart swell, and he couldn’t sit in his chair any longer; the need to hold you carrying him across the room, spinning you into his arms with ease.

“Hi sugar, think I could steal you away for a few minutes?” He whispered in your ear, pressing soft kisses to your neck as he dipped you to cheers from the crowd. You threw your head back giggling and took his hand to drag him through the throngs of patrons to the quiet hall that held the bathrooms.

You knew what he wanted, he was always looking for an opportunity to get you wrapped around him, often joking he might have a bit of a kink for getting you off in public spaces but really he was just insatiable when it came to you, especially when you were dressed in what he thought may be the world's smallest dress and rubbing your body all over his.

Placing you on the side of the sink he ran his hands over you now, sliding a hand between your parted legs finding you obscenely wet and he chuckled; maybe he wasn’t the only one that got hot and bothered over hooking up where anyone could find you.

You gasped at his touch and pushed your hands into his hair, needing him to kiss you and he was all too willing, tasting your tongue as you moaned into his mouth, the prettiest sound he ever heard. He pulled your tiny scrap of underwear to the side and pressed his fingers into your dripping core, watching you grind down onto his hand, whispering filthy things he knew you’d be mortified if anyone heard and God he lived for it, you were his dirty girl behind closed doors all for him, only he got to see you like this. You were teetering on the edge now, suddenly removing his fingers from you with a smirk as you protested, tears pricking at the corner of your eyes and chest heaving while you begged for him to stop teasing and fuck you. He didn’t have to be told twice, letting you wrench his belt buckle open and unzip his jeans in record time, sliding home into your velvet heat, I love yous breathed out into the humid air of the bar bathroom. He chased your mutual highs quickly, knowing eventually someone would come looking for you, desperate cries pouring from your pouty pink lips and coming hard as you pulsed and fluttered around him, both of you bathed in ecstasy in the dim dingy light. As the two of you attempted to become presentable you were startled by the creaking of the bathroom door, Javy poking his head through and shaking his head with a raucous laugh.

“We’ve been taking turns guarding the bathroom, would you two heathens wrap it up? We’ve got celebrating to do!”

You both couldn’t hold in your laughter, they knew you too well, bracing yourselves for the onslaught of teasing for skipping out on your own party to hook up.

Drinks were distributed, a new game of pool was started and as you gazed at Jake across the room you couldn’t help but be proud of who he had become. He was honorable, steadfast and in fact too good to be true. You had both been damaged and jaded from past mistakes and relationships but had somehow healed each other becoming the best version of yourselves. You’d do it all again if it meant you ended up here, with your magnetic force of a man. Loving him was like coming up for air, he was Christmas morning and birthday wishes on lit candles and technicolor fireworks on the Fourth of July. You couldn’t wait to spend forever loving him.

As you sat in the dressing room of the venue overlooking the harbor you were brought back to the night of Penny and Maverick’s wedding just a few years ago. You had come back to San Diego for their nuptials still heartbroken from your failed engagement with Bradley. Over the course of the long weekend you had found love again in the form of your best friend, the man you were finally about to marry.

Sometimes it still felt like a dream, you were afraid you would wake up one morning and still be single and heartbroken in your tiny apartment in Pensacola, but fate had stepped in and brought the two of you together. It hadn’t been easy, you were in tears more often than you’d like to admit when you first started dating long distance, and then deployments apart caused even more strain.

When you were finally promoted to Lieutenant Commander 10 months into your budding romance your superior told you there was an opportunity to fly again at top gun but this time with a new crew. So you and your front seater Viper decided to take the leap and head to Fightertown. Jake couldn’t believe it when he had a knock on his door that Sunday night to find you with all your luggage on his front porch, bottle of champagne in hand asking how he felt about a roommate.

It had been two years since then, both the dagger squad and red knights could be seen mingling outside and you felt your heart swell at how lucky you were to be surrounded by so many amazing friends.

Jake was all nerves on the opposite side of the venue, couldn’t seem to keep his hands from shaking as he tried to put his cufflinks on. Javy swatted his hand away and took over, shaking his head and handing Jake his whiskey to finish up.

“What are you so worried about? Stormy’s in dude, you two were made for each other.”

Jake knew he was being ridiculous, his family loved Stormy, all of his friends did too, he just wanted everything to be perfect for her.

“I’m not worried about her leaving me numb nuts, I just want it to be everything she hopes it is, I’ve checked the weather 100 times today and if it rains I swear-“

“Jake, she’s not just excited about the fairy tale wedding; she’s excited to marry you. The rest of it will turn out perfectly because you two will be together, the rest is gravy bud.”

Jake wondered to himself when Javy had gotten so smart, but he had to admit his wingman was right about one thing, being with you forever was the thing that mattered most and Jake couldn’t wait to start it with you.

As you walked down the aisle you could barely hold it together, Jake was already tearing up when you reached him taking his hand in yours it took all the restraint you had to not go ahead and kiss him. It was everything you had ever dreamed of and even if it had just been the two of you and a justice of the peace that would’ve been enough, because the end result was forever with the love of your life. Jake’s brother-in-law, a preacher back in Texas had been asked to be the officiant and when he finally announced you man and wife you couldn’t get to your love fast enough, pressing your lips to his as he made a show of dipping you for the crowd.

Later that evening in the glow of the harbor lights you were swaying to the music with your husband and you couldn’t put into words how perfect this night had been. He pulled your face close to his as he sang along with the band, and you had to kiss him again, it felt like every cell in your body cried out to be loved and touched by Jake Seresin and you knew without a doubt he always would. No matter where the two of you went he would do everything to love and protect you, and you would always do the same. Forever.

“Jake we’re going to be late!” You call from the bathroom where you’re currently drying your hair, still wrapped in a towel.

“We’re just waiting on you, Bunny.” He says, entering the bathroom, leaning against the doorframe to look at you. Once upon a time, you’d shy under his gaze at you in so little but this may as well be a part of your routine every morning. Today, however, you really don’t have time for him to bend you over the bathroom counter.

That thought leaves your mind as you turn to see what he’s wearing. You snort out a laugh, almost dropping the end of your towel. “Jake, what IS that sweater?” He looks down at it innocently.

“I wear this every year to the holiday party, Bunny.” Your eyes bug out at the cavalier admission. Jake’s sweater is green with bright red letters across the front that spell out “DADDY” lined with obnoxious golden trim around them. You’re about to ask exactly whose daddy he thinks he is when Pudding appears in the doorway in a matching sweater that reads “DADDY’S PRINCESS” and you can’t help the way your heart aches fondly at the sight of them.

“Okay, it makes more sense now that I’ve seen Princess P.” You admit as you cross over to the walk-in closet to get dressed. Jake remains respectfully in the doorway, giving you privacy as you put on your underclothes and pull on his favorite pair of jeans, searching for a sweater to go with it. Just as you’ve selected one that you think will match Jake’s enough, he enters the closet, shaking his head gently as he plucks the sweater from your hand and returns it to the rack, reaching over your head to his row.

“Not so fast, Bunny, did you really think we’d leave you out?” He hands you another sweater that matches his and Pudding’s, with the words “DADDY’S QUEEN” emblazoned across the front. You can’t help the snort that escapes your lips.

“You can’t be serious.” You raise an eyebrow at him as he hands you the sweater and you take it hesitantly.

“As the grave, sweetheart.” He says, a soft smile on his face. “It’s our first Christmas as a family, I want you to join in on the traditions.”

“Your Christmas tradition is being called Daddy…?” He shrugs nonchalantly, his smile twisting into a playful smirk.

“I mean, if you insist.” He’s full-on grinning now and you swat at his chest, laughing as you pull on the matching sweater. You roll your eyes at his antics as you pose in the sweater.

“What do you think? Do I look like a queen?” You give him a little spin and he chuckles softly as you gaze back at him over your shoulder.

“A spitting image, Bunny. You look absolutely beautiful.” You scoff at his sweet words.

“Jake I’m wearing an ugly, and dare I say itchy, Christmas sweater, there’s no way I look beautiful. I look ridiculous at best.” He makes a show of scrutinizing you before he shakes his head, holding out a hand to you, leading you into his arms without hesitation where he presses a kiss to the crown of your head.

“Nope, you look positively beautiful to me; radiant, a goddess amongst men.” You snuggle against the itchy fabric on his chest, content to soak in the love radiating off your boyfriend.

“Jake, we’re going to be late.” You whine with absolutely no bite, making no move to escape his warm embrace. You’re almost disappointed at the idea of having to leave the comfort of your shared home to socialize with your friends and colleagues for the next few hours.

“A queen is never late, everyone else is simply early.” You giggle as he quotes the Princess Diaries into your hair, pressing another kiss there. He’s just about convinced you to linger a moment longer when the beeping of the oven yanks you back into the present.

“The cookies!” You yelp as you disentangle yourself from Jake’s arms and sprint towards the kitchen, slipping along in your socked feet. Jake and Pudding follow behind you and Jake swoops in to take the tray out of the oven. You scrutinize them as he replaces the oven mitts before joining you. “What do you think? Do we have winners?”

“I’ve never lost a cookie contest with Meemaw’s recipe, Bunny, and I don’t intend to start this year.” The two of you had spent the morning whipping up a batch of Jake’s meemaw’s famous Christmas cookies to take to the Christmas party at Mav’s house. Everyone had been instructed to bring cookies that would be judged until the best Christmas cookies were identified. “Your majesty, who would you deem our greatest competition?” Jake asks as he starts fishing around for a Tupperware big enough to house the army of cookies while they cool.

“Are you kidding? Mickey and Bob, easily. Do you remember the tamales Mickey brought to Thanksgiving? I think I cried actual tears. That man has a GIFT.” Jake groans as he produces a huge Tupperware from a cabinet.

“Fuck, I almost forgot about those. Imagine if Mickey’s Abuelita and Meemaw met up? I think that would be death by a home-cooked meal.” Jake has a faraway look in his eyes and you can’t help but indulge the fantasy.

“Where does she live? I’ll buy the tickets.” You sigh before turning back to your cookie inspection. “Is Javy a good cook? He’s from NOLA, right? Surely he has to be.”

“He’s not bad with the microwave if that’s what you mean.” Jake snorts and you gape at him. He shrugs. “Momma Machado? A fabulous cook. His aunts, his grandmother? Excellent, you would weep. Hell, I’m sure even his sisters are incredible cooks, but Javy? The man could burn water. He got spoiled rotten by all that good cooking growing up so he never bothered learning.”

“Why am I not surprised?” You giggle as you pick at one of the uglier cookies, pinching off a bit and groaning as you drop it onto your tongue. “Oh Jake, these are positively sinful.”

“Oh, I don’t think they’re the only thing that are positively sinful.” He smirks, leaning against the counter across from you. You roll your eyes, going to him as if drawn by a magnet. You hold up your crumb-covered fingers to his lips and giggle as he wraps his tongue around the digits, cleaning them, his eyes darkening with a promise for later. You shiver slightly and go to step back before Jake’s arms trap you, pulling you against his chest. “Now where do you think you’re going, your majesty?” His eyes glint with lust as you sigh, trying desperately not to give in to him.

“I’m going to the Christmas party. You coming, Daddy?” You cock your head, pouting up at him slightly and you watch his cocky expression fall in shock at the title and you squirm free of his hold as it falters, sprinting for the flat closet to grab your shoes. You hear heavy footfalls behind you and squeal as Jake’s arms wrap around your middle, swinging you up into his arms. You thrash around, laughing as he buries his face in your neck, peppering it with kisses.

“Oh I’m coming, your majesty. But you’re going to have to do something for me first since you created yourself a little problem.” He gives you a pointed look and you glance down at the noticeable bulge in his jeans.

“Nothing small about that problem, Daddy.” You say coyly, trapping your lower lip between your teeth as Jake groans and you watch his cock twitch under the taut material. “We’re going to be late.” You reiterate and Jake just presses his forehead to your temple, groaning again.

“Bunny, you’re killing me.”

You coo softly at his plight and stroke his cheek gently. “Just let your queen take care of you.” You slip out of his arms as he places you safely back down on the floor and you slip down to your knees on the hardwood, gazing up at him through your lashes. Later you’ll be able to take all the time you want but for now, you’ll have to be quick. Thankfully Jake’s already painfully hard when you slip him out of his jeans. You coo gently at the sight of the angry red tip that’s leaking precum before licking a generous stripe up his length. You roll up the sleeves of your sweater before spitting into your palm and using your hands to spread the slick over his shaft. “Jake?” You ask softly and he cracks open his squeezed eyes and you could melt at the love in them. “Try not to mess my hair up too bad, okay?” He chuckles as he brings a strong hand to cup your cheek gently.

“I’ll do my best, Bunny.” You get right to it then, once again reminded of how late you’re about to be, taking him as best you can, bobbing your head around his swollen shaft as best you can as you try to relax your throat to take him deeper. Jake groans above you, his hand on your cheek sliding into your hair, guiding your head where he needs you. You feel saliva and drool pooling at the corners of your lips and panic at the thought of it dribbling onto your new sweater but Jake’s one step ahead of you, his other hand coming to catch the slick from falling. You give him the best appreciative look you can manage with your mouth full of him that he returns with a soft smile glowing with love before you hollow your cheeks, sucking at his length and he hisses at the pressure. You can feel him starting to twitch in your mouth and you keep up your ministrations until he’s spilling down your throat. You pull off his length, cleaning him up with gentle licks doing your best not to overstimulate him. When you finish, you lay your cheek against his jean-clad thigh, blinking up at him, a sated look on your face mirroring him.

“Merry Christmas, Daddy.” You murmur and Jake strokes your pink cheeks as he gazes down at you with a look of pure adoration.

“Merry Christmas, my queen.”

Jake helps you get cleaned up and thankfully your sweater remains unscathed even if Jake has to change his jeans due to him sacrificing them to wide your drool on. You pack up the cookies while he gets changed and when he comes back you hand him the box, snagging his keys and dancing ahead to the garage. “I’m driving!” You declare as you make your way to the truck. Jake deposits the cookies safely in the passenger seat as you help Pudding into the back before coming back around to swing you into the driver’s seat.

“A queen on her throne.” He remarks playfully as he buckles you.

“I prefer my other throne.” You toss back coyly and he gives you a look that promises that you’ll spend plenty of time on it later that night before going back to the other side of the truck.

“You better start driving or we’re going to be more than just late.” He remarks as you pull out of the driveway.

“Whatever you say, Daddy.” You chirp and you hear him groan next to you as you giggle.

Prologue:

Part 2

I sighed as I pulled into the familiar driveway of the home I shared with my best friend Jake. I noticed that his truck wasn’t there so I assumed that he would be at my Aunts bar The Hard Deck.

Normally I would have gone as well but I was told six hours ago I had been recalled to TopGun in the middle of a six month deployment within an hour of being told I was on a plane, I wasn’t even able to send any of my family a message saying I was coming home.

A few years after Jake and I joined the Navy my parents had also moved back to San Diego to be closer to the entire family.

As I turned the car off I grabbed my duffle and headed onto the porch. Unlocking the door and stepping inside i saw my cousin sitting at the kitchen table. As I closed the door her head shot up and she ran towards me.

‘Y/N!!’ I giggle slightly as i wrapped my arms around her.

‘ Hey Amelia’

She pulled away some tears in her eyes.

‘No one told me you were coming home’

‘They couldn’t because they don’t know yet, I only found out about six hours ago.’ She nodded before wrapping me in a tight hug again. ‘I missed you Thena.’

Before i could respond i heard footsteps coming down the hallway of the bungalow, my head shot up as i looked at the small girl waddling down the hallway rubbing sleep out of her green eyes, blonde hair a mess. Her eyes shot wide open and she started running across the living room.

‘AUNTY THENA’ i laughed as i crouched down and scooped her up in my arms.

‘Hello Miss Daisy.’

‘Daddy home?’ She says through a yawn as she snuggled into my neck.

‘Not yet sweetie” she gave a small nod as i saw her eyes close. I turned to Amelia with a look that she immediately understood and moved to the kitchen to get her stuff and head out the front door. I slowly moved to grab my duffle bag and made my way to Daisy’s room to put her back to bed. As i went to put her down her grip tightened.

‘You have to go to bed sweetie.’

‘No I missed you.’

‘Want to have a sleepover then?’

Again she just nodded as i slowly made my way to my room finally she allowed me to put her down. It was a tradition to have sleepovers when Jake was on deployment or when i got home from one. I quickly grabbed a pair of flannel pants and Jakes old Navy t-shirt and went to the bathroom to change and brush my teeth. When i got back i noticed Daisy was asleep so i moved to grab a book, I was going to read the folder again to look at who I would be teaching but that could wait. As i started reading my eyes started to feel heavy before drifting off to sleep. I am not sure how long I had been asleep but i heard the door to my room shift slightly and the weight of my book lift from my grasp as there was a kiss placed on my forehead and the door closed again.

Jakes POV

I was standing in the Hard Deck with Coyote, we had been the first ones here out of the recalled squad, both of us being stationed in San Diego, the first group to walk through was Phoenix with two others i didn’t know. Soon we were introduced to Payback Fanboy and Bob. I went up to grab some beers from Penny when I saw more uniforms filter through, all of whom i recognised as other topgun graduates.

“What the hell kind of mission is this” i was broken out of my thoughts by Penny asking the question

“ I don’t know must be serious”

“Jake, just remember up in the sky you have someone who needs you here.”

I nod lowly at Penny, thoughts drifting to my 5 year old daughter, beside Coyote, Athena, Penny and Iceman, no one knew about Daisy, that is the way we wanted it since she came into our lives 5 years ago no more than a few weeks old dropped at my apartment with a letter from her mother a girl i barely remember saying she was giving up all parental rights and that I had full custody. It just so happened that Athena and I were both stationed in San Diego, after I called her she came to my apartment to see me with a distraught look and child in my arms. My best friend quickly took Daisy from my arms told me to pack what i needed and come stay with her and they would work it out together. When i got to her house later that night Admiral Kazansky was sitting in the living room Athena explaining the situation to ‘Uncle Ice’ who made sure that we were always stationed together and on seperate deployments.

I was broken out of my thoughts by Phoenix yelling across the bar.

“BRADSHAW is that you.” I turn to see Rooster walking across the bar so I turn and walk back to the pool table taking the cue out of Bobs hands

‘Bradshaw as I live and breathe.’

‘Hangman you look…..good’

‘I am good….I am too good to be true.’ I look up to see Rooster roll his eyes next to Phoenix

The conversation continues and i chime in making my arrogant comments to continue the Hangman personality that everyone knows and loathes.

“Everyone here is the best there is, who are they gonna get to teach us.” Phoenix stated which caught my interest there was only two pilots i could think to teach us Athena who was not here yet……..and Maverick.

‘The best of the best isn’t here though is she Phoenix?’ Bradley answers and I see her face drop slightly. I knew Athena’s history with Bradley and I know her and Phoenix are close having done many deployments together before, she is definitely Athenas best female friend bordering on a sister bond.

‘Where is she hangman?’ Phoenix says in a low voice Coyote and Bradley looking at me as well. My breathe hitches
