Landmark record. The trip hop & drum + bass genres were such a breathe of fresh air when they both popped up on everyone’s radar at about the same time. There was so much newness in both sounds, it seemed like every other day a new act was putting out material. I really miss that era. So many great artists were born out of it, but EBTG was different. A duo that had been around for over decade prior, dropped this gem and blew a lot of other similar acts out of the water. Everything But The Girl - Amplified Heart (2019 reissue)....I’m just wondering if this is the first proper vinyl release of the album. I have it on CD but never bothered to look for the vinyl version. Not sure if I speak for everyone but my only reason for having this album was for Todd Terry club mix of ‘Missing’. That version is on the CD but not on this vinyl. I guess this vinyl reissue is the true original version of the album without the extra club mix. Record 1916. #MassiveAttack #Protection Amazing second album by Massive Attack which I feel is on par with their first album. 20. Tracey Thorn – Record

OK, so there might be a tinge of nostalgia here. After all, I have loved Tracey Thorn since the Marine Girls in 1980, through Everything But the Girl to her solo career. But this is also a very strong album, one of her best. Dance music for adults who have no problems with being adults.
