I always like looking at the designs of weapons, whether it be the newly released, old, or lore skins.

However, I noticed something about specifically the overwatch uniform skins and Reaper's Blackwatch, ov1, and ov2 skin.

With Overwatch's skins like Combat Medic Ziegler and Cadet Oxton, you see labels on their weapons, abbreviated, but make sense nonetheless.

Cadet Oxton - "TRCR-01" (Tracer 01)

Combat Medic Ziegler - "VAL01" (Valkyrie 01)

But with Reyes, it goes from...

- "BLK001" (black 001, Blackwatch (Blackwatch Reyes))

- "RPNT" (Repent (OV1 SKIN))

and then...

"RPNT-L4" (Repent Lover)

...

Reyes, man. You're so dramatic.

ANOTHER EARTH, FILE 001 – BATMAN

Circa 2003-2007 – 'THE TANK YEARS'

Any world with Lex Luthors, Kord Industries, Mister Terrifics, alien invasions, etc., is going to have a substantially whack timeline for technological advancement. Another Earth's 2003 is, in some ways, real-world 2009 or 2010. So what happens to Batman's costume after seven-odd years of disaster after disaster, including the death of one of your young wards?

Folks, he's not wearin' hockey pads.

Anybody living through the Thanagarian Invasion alone might be motivated to re-examine how much armor they wear when going out to get pounded by super-strong sadists or power-mad alien despots. And with any field of technology, there's going to be a little awkward period where it looks clunky and uncomfortable – superhero costume design and manufacturing is no different. This is the Batsuit equivalent to a tank, and it behaves like one: clunky, heavy, hard to move around in, reliant on really durable but expensive-to-manufacture armor plating and prioritizing function over form. It's ugly. It's uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time. It takes a long time to put on and take off. It's sort of representative of the classic Bruce Wayne mindset of 'I'm just going to have to live with my discomfort and learn to function around it.'

It is, however, very effective; the benefit to having so much padding and plating is that it can hide the scaffolding for, let's say, a physique-enhancing exoskeleton. Criminals who thought they basically knew what they were in for whenever Batman shows up have to learn that now Batman can just straight up rip your car door off to get at you. If you hit him across the shoulders with a bat, your bat might break. Once again, Batman's reputation evolves to scare a new generation of criminals.

And he gets some new wonderful toys! This is the era in which the utility belt really fills up with weird shit. If you've played the Arkham games, this is where his kit develops along those lines – mini cameras, a multitool that fires his grapnel but can also shoot tracers or a taser, that kind of thing. Bat shark repellent or whatever. The batarangs are at their most diverse and most adaptive.

But the utility belt isn't the only thing that gets an expansion: near the end of this period of time, a new member of the bat-family appears: the Son of the Bat and Grandson of the Demon. Damian is on the scene, folks. And at this point, Bruce just decides, you know what? There's no LAW that says I have to ONLY have ONE Robin. I can have as many as I want! Tim and Damian are both Robin simultaneously, for all the friction that causes among the family.

Claire's voice comes only a moment before his head rests on Ladd's shoulder and his hands wrap around his torso, those clear signs the only evidence of Claire's arrival at all. There's no telling how or when he'd gotten in---despite it being his own apartment, he's apparently well-versed in entering it quietly.

He'd taken Ladd and Lua here knowing fully well Ladd was more than well-equipped to deal with any potential trouble, but knowing they've both been alright despite his relatively short absence is still a relief. He can will the world to do as he wants, but it's not under his control while he's looking away. Anything could have happened.

"I'm so happy to see you again. The business with my brothers is all taken care of, so you don't have to worry about any more distractions for right now. It went exactly how I thought it would." He chooses his words carefully, for the sake of provocation. It'll make Ladd want to kill him a little more, but Claire's always been someone who catches on quickly; the more he wants to kill me, the more he loves me!

But he's also not the type of person to keep on one subject for long, so he lets Ladd go and steps back just a moment after trying to provoke him.

"How's Lua been?" he asks. "I'm worried it'll be a little insensitive if I check up on her properly, but to be honest it does concern me a little that I might have accidentally made myself a homewrecker and ruined her world, hahaha."

14. Computer Home Screen. / from Roce.

Artemis tends to be rather particular with what she has on her Desktop.   For all of her personal files,  she has a single folder named  ‘ Navigation ‘  and within this folder is dozens of little folders which are named in a particular order  ;  001. Documents,   002. Photos and Images,  003.  Movies and Shows.   Within each of these folders,  are similar naming conventions for everything inside of them.   Artemis has also gone to the extent where she has removed the 260 character limit on NTFS paths.  Although she hasn’t actually named anything that’s more than 260 characters long. As for the programs which are located on her desktop,  a lot of them are programs that keep track of her computer system itself  -  Artemis has ‘God Mode’  enabled on her computer   ( basically,  it’s a way to access a bunch of advanced settings within one folder,  rather than searching through multiple setting menus )   she has Disk Genius for managing her storage,  Crystal Disk which monitors her disk drive status and general PC health.  Artemis also has PyCharm for her coding.  CPUZ to look at her general computer specifications,  Oracle VM for when she needs to play around on a different computer that isn’t her own,  A VPN,  and CISCO Packet Tracer,  which is an application to build a network. As for programs that are  ‘ fun ‘   ;   Artemis doesn’t have too much on her desktop,  she has Steam downloaded but will often delete games that she no longer plays,  CDisplayEX is for reading comics,  and Discord for chatting with her online friends.   Artemis also has Photoshop and Word on her Desktop for quick access.   All in all,  there are less than twenty applications on her desktop.

    This by itself wouldn’t bother Loki--be it far from him to turn down any amount of attention, good, bad, neutral, “simply looking at the trainwreck in motion”--but it was rather that he knew, and maybe they knew he knew, yet no matter where he looked from over his shoulder to the side he didn’t know, you know?

    He figured that either they were invisible or they were moving very, very fast. (Or Loki was horrid at finding them. It could have been a mixture of all three-- could have, for he’d be scarce to ever admit it.)

    “Alright,” he said to the wind, “Come on out. I concede you this victory.”

    For now. Loki hardly took losing with anything resembling the word grace.

I practiced some lineless art featuring @ignus108's Wind Tracer!

I also included some step by step parts just for fun below the cut :D

I started with a sketch layer and made sure to leave room for the word bubble! (Forgot to picture it, but it's on a separate layer.)

Sometimes I do the ponies first, but today I tried background first to get a feel for what kind of colors might blend well for shadows and highlights.

Here's where I'd normally draw the lines! But since I'm practicing lineless today, I added in the flat colors. I also made sure each character was on a separate layer!

I added the most important shading next! Since there are no lines, I used shadows to define noses, horn lines, and where some of the deepest shadows might end up.

Next I put in the background shadows and a few deeper shadows as well!

Added in the hair shadows and highlights!

Finally, I added some bright sunlight, turned Blanky clear, and messed with the colors a bit. Ta-daa!

"Luck!!"

Claire's ever-enthusiastic voice carries loudly through the small room, probably quite a bit louder than Luck would like. He's usually a little more conscious of that kind of thing, but it's honestly been a while since he's seen any of his brothers, so he's just a little more unrestrained than usual.

"Wow, you look so put-together!" he comments, making himself comfortable immediately in the empty office he probably shouldn't have been able to get himself into. "It's been a while, hasn't it? I miss you guys every day. Well, even though I can manage to phone you guys pretty often, it's a lot different than seeing you in person. It's one thing to hear your voice, but it's another thing to actually see you in front of me, you know?"

He laughs, carrying on at about a mile a minute---Claire had prepared a lot of things to say all at once, and when it came down to it, he'd been unable to organize them before saying them. "Hey, are you still a hugger? I guess I was always more of one than you, but if it's alright with you, I'd like to hug my second-favorite brother. After Keith, obviously, but who'd just straight-up hug Keith like that, right? Hahaha."

001. A kiss when it’s not wanted:

The angel of mercy was known for being selfless, easily incapacitated, enough for Talon’s higher-ups to mark her as an easy target for their newest recruit to test her new allegiance. A simple assassination mission, one that the girl could handle, surely after the rehabilitation period that had just about consumed her life.

How foolish she was for thinking it would be as easy as she thought. The girl hadn’t realized that the so-called “Angel of Mercy” also carried a fucking GUN.

Here she was, in the present, pushed up against an alleyway wall, the platinum blonde’s side swept bangs drooping low enough to catch on her own cheek. Tracer fidgets, crying out for help, whining beneath the grasp of the enemy medic, but her noises are quelled with a slight shake, the edges of her accelerator grinding against the exposed brick.

“Hush, Lena.” She hears, the faint whisper seeking to calm, to soothe. “It’s me, Liebling.”

The voice only makes her thrash harder against her attacker.

Tears pool in her eyes as she whines as pathetically as she did when she was dragged out of that godforsaken aerocraft. Blinded, terrified, aching to be alone again.

Stop, please, just kill me. Let me go. Lena’s dead. I don’t know who you are, just kill me and move on. Please.

But her pleas are cut off by a slender hand cupping her cheek, pulling her in towards the Angel’s face, into lidded eyes and parted lips.

The kiss is unwanted. She shakes, those tears breaking free and streaking down past reddened cheeks and freckles, but once the Angel pulls away, Tracer stands there silently, unmoving.

“Lena, do you remember me?” The Angel asks, that gloved thumb wiping away the remaining tears cascading down her captive’s face. “It’s me, Mäuschen. Angela. We were partners until the accident happened, and I lost you. Tell me, do you remember anything?”

The Angel speaks between quiet sobs, both hands grasping Tracer’s stoic face.

“Please, Lena. It’s been so long. I have missed you.”

Perhaps she should be renamed to the Angel of Death, rather than the Angel of Mercy, because when Tracer gazes into those icy blue eyes of Angela Ziegler, her thoughts are purged, and the life is forced out of her.

How simply could an unwanted kiss undo months of work done to her thoughts, her mind, her whole person?

“Angela.” Lena whispers, savoring the taste of the name. “Angela. Angela. Angela.”

She leans in once more, arms wrapped around the medic until her nose is buried in the crook of that dainty neck.

“I’m so sorry.”

Either Torbjorn (because of my lingering resentment of getting potg swiped out from under me for my 4 man rez in favor of Torb staring at Widow’s ass while his turret did all the work early on in the game) or Soldier 76 (mostly because Soldier mains are dicks, but also he’s an asshole).

Tracer/Emily cause I love that our poster girl is a lesbian, Zarya/Lucio (dat size difference), Doomfist/Reaper, Widowmaker/Symmetra, and Zenyatta/Hanzo. My brain loves giving me rarepairs that I ship with all my damn soul. I should make a list by fandom to see if I can drag anyone else down with me.

Character I find most attractive:

That’s a tie between Zarya and Reaper. Both could kill me with their thighs. Reaper has that voice, but Zarya could lift me over her head with one arm and has that fantastic jaw you could forge a sword on. Lucio is also absolutely gorgeous, all three are way out of my league.

Character I would be best friends with:

I want to be friends with all the omnics, plus Efi, Mei, Hana, and Lucio.

A Random Thought:

I wonder if Symmetra would own a fidget cube. I know I love mine.

An Unpopular Opinion:

Reaper//76 is bad. Like, I like the idea of younger Jack and Gabe being together when they were happy and healthy and had each other’s backs. Now? When almost every interaction in game reeks of animosity? Where Reaper has tried to kill 76? That’s not healthy. That bridge is burned, the earth on either side of the chasm has been salted, and the entire area has been cordoned off indefinitely.

My Canon OTP:

Well, we only have one real canon one, but I’m still thrilled with Tracer and Emily. I need more about them. Get on it Blizzard!

Zenyatta/character development outside of Genji’s personal growth Hanzo

Most Badass Character:

That’s a tough one. I wanna say either Ana Amari (one-eyed healer sniper old woman, hells yeah) or Sombra (single-handedly uncovering a global conspiracy, putting an entire street gang under her thumb, lying to Talon, etc. The woman has a set of big brass ones.)

Pairing I’m not a fan of:

Mei//hem. Or Symm//rat. Jamie and Mei both express extreme dislike for each other and I’ve never liked that sort of thing. And for the other, not only is Junkrat very much the sort of person that would be Too Much in about 40 different ways for Symm, there’s not way he would be interested in a suit of all people.

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another):

All of them that have great skins in Heroes of the Storm but not in their original fucking game, which only has wildly mediocre skins for them.

Favorite Friendship:

Hana and Lucio are adorable and I love them.

Bastion is my child and I love them.

How I feel about this character:

I love him so much, and he’s gonna be my new main with the Valkyrie nonsense. If Blizzard wants me to be an attack healer, then I’m picking the one I like as a goddamn character, or at least one who can attack and heal at the same time.

All the people I ship romantically with this character:

Honestly I don’t actively ship him with a lot of characters. I do like the Genyatta I’ve seen, but it’s not my top ship by any means. I’ve seen some cute Zenyatta/Orisa stuff too. But my beloved rarepair, as I mentioned above, is Hanyatta. My brain saw the pattern of

Hanzo/McCree, Genji/ZenyattaGenji/McCree, 

and finished with Hanzo/Zenyatta, kind of half-assed joking about it. Then I actually started thinking about it and went “well shit, there’s another one for the rarepair pile.”

My non-romantic otp for this character:

I like that him and Bastion get along, at least in the voice lines in-game.

One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon:

I would love to see him get his own character development independent of Genji. Don’t get me wrong, I love the cyborg ninja, but I’m fascinated by our omnic monk, how he knew Mondatta, and why he broke away from the Shambali.
