i want to see people to be talking about this panel in the promised neverland

google search and stuff has gotten pretty bad so that might be why i'm struggling so much to find theories on this but omg it's a little frustrating because this is the coolest panel.

for anyone that doesn't remember, this was at the demon temple that showed them how to reach the seven walls.

there's one specific thing here that interests me the most, and it's the main reason i think this panel is so interesting, but there's so many other significant things to discuss here so i'll just get through some quickly.

at the top we see what i think is almost definitely the night and day, and the demon god. there're then lines pointing to the beginning of the evolution tree with the small bacteria-like first demons. i think this is telling us that the demon god is the originator of all of the demons. that's pretty huge?? i haven't heard anyone ever talk about that. i don't think this is far-fetched at all too. i strongly believe in this theory.

under the bacteria-like demons are these bipedal, horned, almost human-like demons. i'm less sure about what these are and i think this is more up for debate but i'm guessing these are a slightly evolved form of the first demons from eating lots of small things and slowly working their way a little up the food chain. with slight variations probably from slightly different diets.

under that, we see the demon evolution that we are familiar with.

they eat a fish, they become a fish-like demon. they eat a human, they become the familiar human-like demon. they eat bugs or other small wild creatures, they become the also familiar wild demon. (side note: we know humanoid demons also eat bugs alongside humans which is interesting. what unique affect to bugs have on them?)

it's showing us what the demons will evolve into after eating certain organisms. it all seems to align with what we know from normans research so far.

except for one thing. this is the thing that interests me more than anything else.

i don't think we ever get even a hint towards what this could mean in the manga.

gonna be real, i think even if i tried to look for patterns myself, i wouldn't know enough about biology to find much. i don't know much of anything about biology. i think the only thing i take away from this is that for some reason they can't eat snakes.

this stuff intrigues me so much and i just wish i could find more theories out there on this. rahhhh it's so cool. i just want an answer.

Reading the latest chapters of Black Butler is giving me flash backs from The Promised Neverland 💀

Hi there, friend! I’ve honestly have been having some severe writing block, hence why I have done much writing as of late. Luckily, I did manage to do the Vore Day writing I promised!

Before I start the story, let me introduce the characters!

Axl is an autistic 17 year old who suffers from depression and social anxiety. His black, sharp hair has silver tips and it covers his left eye. This boy is a Beastman, which is a human-like creature that has various animal body parts. His hands and feet are paws and his limbs are covered in gray fur. His wolf tail is black with silver tips, similar to his hair, and bat-like wings are attached to his back. One trait that haunts him is his snake-like eyes and he usually wears hoodies and torn up jeans.

Aaron is an albino 17 year old Mystic, which are human-like creatures with the hinds legs of the deer, a long blue and white striped tail, hand that are like bird talons, and soft feathered wings. The colors of his eyes are mismatched, one being blue and the other being purple. His long white hair is usually tied into a braid. Aaron wears an ancient purple beast jacket and black Hakama pants.

Yes, they are gay and in love. (definitely based off of Norman and Ray from TPN)

(A Soft Vore Fic)

Tucked underneath the darkness of his blanket, Axl hid from the rest of the world. The demon in his mind, Reggie, had been acting up again and sunk their wire into Axl’s heart. The boy’s heart pounded and his vision was blurred as he tried to calm himself down.

Then, he heard the sound of the door opening. “Axl? Sweetheart?” A soft, sweet voice called to him. One that Axl was very familiar with. “Over here, Aaron.” Axl poked his head out from underneath the blanket, spotting his albino boyfriend. Arron turned to face him, his long, white braid laid atop his shoulders. “There you are.” Arron spoke softly. “Are you okay, love? You look rather distraught back there.”

Axl shook his head, the black hair in front of his face swayed as he did so. “No…I know now why I’m like this. Why do the smallest things upset me.” Aaron shook his head as he walked over to Axl’s bed, hooves clicking on the ground. “It’s not you, love. Certain things just irritate your mind and that’s okay. It’s alright that you don’t like strangers touching you.”

The raven-haired boy scooted over to his partner, paws sinking into the bed. “I just don’t understand why I can’t even get a hug from anyone except you and Aurora. You two are the only people I’m fine with touching.” Aaron nodded, wrapping his arm around Axl. “That’s just what you tolerate. There’s nothing wrong with that.” Axl just looked down at the floor and sighed, still disappointed.

Aaron gently nuzzled Axl’s shoulder. “Would you like me to pouch you? Get away from the world for a minute?” Axl nodded before looking at his partner. “Thank you, angel.” The albino chuckled, slowly wrapping Axl in his tail. “Of course. You know you’re safe with me.”

The albino slowly raised Axl closer to him with his tail, slowly opening his maw. Axl closed his eyes as Aaron stuck his partner’s head into his jaws. Warm enveloped the raven-haired boy as he slid further into Aaron’s throat. The soft walls tightened and retracted as it brought Axl closer to the dark pouch.

All that was left was Axl’s tail, which Aaron gently slurped up. Now, Axl was held in the dark, warm organ. He looked around the environment, feeling the soft, slick walls. Various gurgles and growls echoed around him, which was accompanied by Aaron’s heartbeat.

Aaron huffed when he finished his meal. Tucking himself into the bed, the albino purred happily as he felt his partner adjusting inside. “How are you feeling, love?”Aaron spoke with a sweet tone, gently rubbing circles on his stomach. Axl hummed softly before speaking up, which sounded muffled due to the walls around him. “Much better…Thank you.”

“No problem, sweetheart. Just relax. I’ve got you.” Aaron whistled a sweet and warm song.. “I love you.” The albino could feel his partner nuzzling him from the inside. “I love you too, angel.”

[But then, Sonny's question hit. And what a first question it was. Snake rubbed the back of their neck, grimacing slightly. They… didn't like remembering this part of their story.]

…Yeah, it's my name. My parents abandoned me as an egg, so I never got a real name. Everyone else calls me snake most the time, so I let it stick.

[They squinted, staring up at their ceiling, memories swimming in their head.]

"Scram, snake!" "Can someone get that worthless little snake out of here?!" "If I ever see you around here again you filthy snake, I'm turning your ass into a pair of boots!"

[Hah…ha. How very kind of them all to give them a free name…]

And, it reminds me that I am a snake, even when people say I'm not the other times.

[They cast their glance aside, a strange tightness in their chest.]

Honestly, I… Don't actually know what I am. I'm definitely part python, but I can only stomach eggs. And with how green I am, you'd think I was arboreal, but I can't climb a tree to save my life. Not to mention I'm only five foot two, when even the smallest python is at least a good six feet…

Human Experimentation or a Delicious Meal?

With Black Butler’s 203rd chapter release, we have more unsettling news for the F.O.L. Kids. I mentioned before that we still don’t know the full bane for the acronym but my suspicion is still leaning towards Funtom Orphanage Lab with the evidence from 203.

And once again our current arc through a sketchy orphanage is bringing up more similarities to another fave manga of mine of which I’ve talked about before: The Promised Neverland.

Continuing from the last post, which you can find here, there are more things that feel the same when compared to the TPN. Though chapter 200 was the start of this mini series, not even 3 chapters later in 203 we have MORE information to compare.

Bases of Operation

The bases of operation are so well hidden yet right under everyone’s nose. If it weren’t for Emma and Norman’s realization they were surrounded by a wall with a gate, or if Snake’s snakes didn’t come along to pick up a scent, they would still be well hidden and right under everyone’s nose. But these kids are smart, they know how to look and use the environments around them

Child Preservation (warning, graphic)

203 and the beginning of TPN aren’t fucking around when it comes to child preservation. When Conny was discovered and now in this case, Ginny, both were found in a not so happy place

However, with TPN we know these kids are being plucked to get eaten where as in 203 we still don’t know what is going on. Racks upon racks of human parts are being stored, for what? Are these parts being used to create dolls? Are they being used to replace parts in dolls that already exist-to expand their life force?

Clearly we’ll learn something in Finny’s upcoming backstory and how this method of extracting parts and pieces of young kids for experimentation. Maybe Finny was a rescued Doll experiment?

Mother Is Always Watching

The Maids/Mothers (Isabelle) always seem to know when the kiddos are afoot and in places they shouldn’t be. Maybe my own mother’s saying “I have eyes in the back of my head” are true in them knowing when exactly to show up. They runt he operation as puppets controlled by a higher power. You better watch out!

The Smart and Eldest Child is Next

Much like TPN when the younger dead child get’s found, the next one to go is the smartest, and eldest child. Like its their prime ripe season of child picking. After Conny’s discovery, Norman was to be “adopted” and in this case Theo is to be “fledged”.

The reason in TPN was because Isabelle knew Norman had information. In 203, if mother’s intuition is correct, they probably already suspect that Theo knows more than he should.

My suspicion in Theo’s case is that R!Ciel is starting to whither and needs parts his age to survive.

Hopefully 204 will give us more answers and maybe some more comparisons, but for now, theories are up in the air.

182 Days of TPN - Day 39

Chapter 39: “Beyond Expectations”

The earth opens up beneath you suddenly and y’all don’t even scream? No wonder you didn’t notice everyone else disappear until moments ago. It probably happens so fast they might not even get the chance to let out a yell, but we’ll never know for sure since the anime cut the entire Snakes of Alvapinera scene out..for some reason. We see Emma barely step on it before Ray & Jemima quickly pull her back, but that’s all.

All the small reunions are so cute. Also just some of the rare panels where Ray’s hair isn’t completely black since it would’ve just blended in with the surrounding darkness.

The damn goowee fish creatures.. still can’t believe they got more screentime than Yuugo ever will.

Oh to be a small child without a hint of worry towards the possible dangers nearby and to just gawk at every new thing with complete awe and wonder. They really are so cute. Enjoy it while you can kiddos.

Sweetie, your reaction time is simply astonishing. And your speed. And the strength you have to carry these two girls. Hell, everything about Emma is amazing.

Uuuuh, so ... I have like 10+ WIPs plus serious work to do but my dump ass decided to make new character AGAIN *sigh* ALSo this is supposed to by hyena :D I've never drawn hyenas before and this is like my ... 3rd try? Still, she looks more like a wolf, damn xD But some signs which help you recognize wolf apart hyena in my drawings - (especially on this drawing) big ragged ears, circle nose, eyes similiar to cats (I know hyenas don't have narrowed pupils, but hyenas' and cats' family tree in evolution is very similiar and they are almost like cousins ... if u get what I mean). And what the heck is that character? Her name is Samanta and she's my newest RPG oc. Also - this RPG is based on The Promised Neverland but with anthros. Yea, so what changed in this AU? Literally everything. Not only the fact, that those are animals and not humans, but also these kids are trained to become "hunting dogs". (detailed AU below ... you don't have to read it tho  ) About this AU: This world features 3 main races: Ordinary ones (classic anthros), Special ones (anthros with special powers such as supernatural powers or controling natural elements etc...) and Daemons (their evolution branch is completely different from anthros). However, two dominant races can't rule one planet in peace, right? Deamons decided to get rid of every anthro, starting with the most vulnerable ones - the Ordinary ones, who couldn't defend themselves any better but with only bare hands. Luckily, the Special ones took the lead and showed the Ordinary ones how to fight them. The war started but not only many Daemons died, the worst loss experienced the Ordinary ones. Ancestors (the strongeds animals among Ordinary ones - tigers, lions and leopards) were ashamed of Special ones to cause such damage to both races and forged a promise with Daemons to return peace. For Daemons, the only great danger were Special ones. In exchange of not killing the Ordinary ones, Daemons built training camps for children who were created in labs (Daemons had technologies). The best trained kids became hunters and tracked down the Special ones, because since they were very little, mechs (Ordinary ones who were turned into empty shells with robotic mind) were telling them lies - the great war and suffering caused "agressive" Special ones. These kids were taught hate toward Special ones and as they grew up, they were sent to kill Special ones in the outside world. A complete system how to get rid of your enemy by messing with someone's mind, Daemons ruled the world, protected by confused Ordinary ones. But Daemons never trusted these "stupid animals" and were making experiments on other anthros to develop the killing machines. Character shown in this picture (Samanta) was always loyal to protect her race and trained as hard as she could. But soon she realized that everything she was told, was a lie. Together with her new ally, Emily (a fennec) found out that they are not the Ordinary ones, but Special ones. And with searching for answers from the past, they realized that everything was a lie ... Well, kinda complicated :D But there's more to the story (but my storytelling is always chaotic and I probably won't draw these characters often ...). You are right @just-to-comment-in-fanpages , the disturbing part is that it's mostly implied that Neptuno/Poseidon pretty much raped Medusa in Athena's temple, which had angered the goddess. I sure hope that we are NOT going that far into the mythology references

(Knowing SWJ they probs wouldn't allow even implied rape into their magazine tbh, so I am not too worried actually).

Perhaps there might be more of a figurative screw over, like living under the sea might have affected the snake demons badly?

Either case, I do want to raise a couple more points relating to snakes in the manga, and it's pretty important. While Minerva's adventure book is confirmed to be a guide to the demon world, Minerva's mythology book's purpose is yet to be revealed.

Note that the mythology book not only has warriors, dragons and angels, it also has these images:

SNAKE and APPLE

Those two are most commonly associated with the genesis story of the Bible about the SNAKE SHARING THE FRUIT OF KNOWLEDGE WITH HUMANS AGAINST THE WILL OF GOD.

Humans and the snakes both get punished, the humans are banished from paradise, and the snakes lose their legs and have to "eat dirt for eternity".

We know that I-???? is pretty much worshipped as a God, so what if Musica's clan, who seem to be pretty differently religious to normal demons have comitted sacrilege, maybe even sharing forbidden secrets with the humans, and they got punished for that?

It may even have been the case that it was Mujika’s clan who originally gave away to humans how to defeat demons: that eyes are their weakness. Which could have triggered the situation that forced the demons to form the promise, and in their anger they may have struck out at Mujika’s clan?

These are all just speculations, but there is something that isn't, THIS chapter cover:

I remember thinking waaaay back, why is Mujika associated with the apple here? I thought the apple was associated with the snakes, but I don't see any snakes (OH HOW NAIVE I WAS).

Initially I thought that cover just illustrated that the Earth was divided into half by the promise, but perhaps if Mujika really is part of a snake clan, instead the apple shows that forbidden fruit of eden that the snake SHARED with human kind.

Also @just-to-comment-in-fanpages you have also noted that Exodus has similarities to TPN, and the promise may be a reference to the Promised Land in the Bible. I should research and think about this more now that it seems that Genesis is also likely referenced...

Uh-huh, btw noticed that it was conveniently the snake pages that had ripped out parts? Almost like someone was trying to hide some secrets about them... even more than the rest of the secrets.

I think there is a fair chance with all these hints to actually be a connection between Mujika’s clan and snakes, but as one last thing, here is another volume extra that plays with the visual idea of Mujika’s feet looking snakeish under the reflections of the water... unless it is LITERAL and when Mujika's body touches water it actually TRANSFORMS INTO SNAKES... well, who knows, can't wait to find out though!

Mujika thoughts

I am not going to post spoiler pictures, but I just want to talk about the chapter 126 spoiler leaks before I go to sleep and we might have a full chapter.

So looking at the new material, I just had a thought: what if I was wrong about Mujika, and she is actually a reference to the Medusa myth?

There seems to be a lot more thematic evidence for this one, than a Peter Pan association.

I have recently agreed with @fyria-hans that Sonju and Musica may have been Minerva’s associates, and I just read @linkspooky ’s analysis on Athena and Minerva mythology. So I thought, if Mujika was possibly associated with Minerva, could she be associated with the roman mythology?

As I googled up Minerva, I saw that there was a poem with mythology including her called METAMORPHOSIS written by the ROMAN poet OVID. Not only is it an interesting title with respect to our demons that can change shape, we have also seen mirrored latin writing in the manga before, as well as Minerva being a roman goddess.

So there are direct references to roman culture, and I thought, could be more there? Well @vobomon mentioned to me that Metamorphosis has passages on the owl of Minerva, and how they used to be human before they were transformed into an owl.

Well, just to say, I have been puzzled for the longest time about the HUMAN FEATURES on these owls on the colour spreads…

Actually, you know what, in the first spread, Emma almost looks like she is TURNING INTO AN OWL… So what was that Metamorphosis passage again?

I think we are getting a visual reference to that myth there… but at this point I am not sure what else to conclude on it, so I will just leave it there.

Now @linkspooky also thought that the deep sea cave with snakes in Minerva’s adventure book was a reference for the Medusa myth, but you know WHO ELSE LIVED IN THAT CAVE?!

MUJIKA (and Sonju)

Until now, with her hair braided, I wasn’t too suspicious, but the new leaks have Mujika’s hair out, and those strands are DEFINITELY reminiscent to snakes for me!

I have noted before that Mujika’s dress looked liked scales… but both fish and snakes have scales!

Oh btw, I went back to when Norman introduced the idea of demons having been associated with mythical creatures, and I noticed a CERTAIN EXAMPLE IN THE BACKGROUND:

I felt the Cuvitidala and crocodile references were so strong since that explanation illustration also alluded to it, but it looks like there might have been another clue!

Btw the new chapter leaks also suggests that the rest of Mujika’s clan was murdered, while she was forced into hiding and or captured.

I looked it up, and the Medusa myth is most likely based on a real life MASSACRE of hellenistic people, possibly happening due to a lot of priestesses being killed with ritual masks of a goddess…

What is more, in the Metamorphosis, when Medusa is killed by the human hero Perseus (aided by the gods with fantastical items), from her slain body, the winged horse Pegasus is born, as well as a giant who wields a golden sword, Khrysaor.

Hmm, didn’t Sonju have a (very fine) HORSE?! Also, isn’t he kinda… tall? And carries a weapon (of unkown colour).

Pretty interesting coincidences right? One more thing though, volume 6 that has all the Sonju and Mujika chapters, plus their cave on the cover, on the inside cover has a Minerva OWL.

I guess that might be a reference after all that Mujika is related to Minerva mythology… which would then be Medusa.

Btw if Mujika and Sonju are also William Minerva associates, it might stand to reason that Minerva’s associates would know about their ancient, hidden village… an info that could be passed to Norman!

After all, Mujika is about the size of humans, and that ancient village looks hella well proportioned for humans! If her clan was massacred a while ago, that would also explain how it would have ended up being conveniently abandoned!

Oh yeah, and one more thing. I have pointed out before that snakes/reptiles seem to have some sort of SPECIAL EXCEPTION to normal demon evolution. Remember that this picture has an x at snakes?

However, if Mujika’s clan is really the snake clan, then the X may actually just mean that they went EXTINCT (having been massacred), well as far as everyone (including Norman) knows. They may have also been massacred since they didn’t require eating humans for intellect? I wonder how that is related to the snake theme…

Btw, in the leak it seems like Norman also says “so she with the cursed blood survived?” . Did you know that Medusa according to the myth used to be a beautiful girl, until MINERVA CURSED her to have SNAKE hair (and look so hideous that anyone who looked at her directly turned to stone). Funny coincidences, right?

Btw; here is an illustration of how Mujika eats: by detaching her jaw and swallowing the bird whole. JUST LIKE SNAKES. (I am not sure if it’s the same for other demons… those nobles like Bayon certainly liked to use cutlery at the table!)

History Repeats Itself: Black Butler and The Promised Neverland Comparisons

Currently the ongoing arc in Black Butler with the F. O. L. has been giving me mad The Promised Neverland (TPN) vibes since Finny and Snake showed up at the mansion looking like Ciel’s house.

With the recent release of Black Butler’s 200th chapter, I just can’t shake the similarities. Now whether Yana Toboso thought of this years ago or recently got inspired by the successful manga series, The Promised Neverland, I won’t know.

For those who don’t know TPN, and I apologize for the spoilers now and ahead of time, is about an orphanage of kids basically being raised under constant surveillance as they grow to a certain age in order to be provided to an outside being as a resource.

Sounds familiar with Black Butler right now, right? Kids being kept under lock and key until a certain age then gets sent away to god knows where for unspeakable things.

So I thought that I’d share some of the similarities between the current arc of Black Butler and the first arc in The Promised Neverland.

1. The Orphanage.

Both in TPN and Black Butler, both orphanages are surrounded, meaning no one can escape. You and others can go in but leaving isn’t an option. But also with Gracefield and F.O.L. There are other locations with other resources of humans.

2. The place is heavily monitored.

As previously mentioned no one can escape unless it’s allowed or you are dead. The women watch day and night over the children to make sure they are in line and doing as they are told/raised.

3. Misinformation

Another thing they share in common is the source of misinformation. Papers are taken out of the newspapers that Artie irons, shielding him from real time events. The libraries in TPN are carefully selected to give the kids false hope without knowing until much later.

4. Testing

In TPN the kids are tested to make sure they are of adequate intelligence where as the kids at F.O.L. are tested to be placed in a category. But if anyone is caught there will be consequences. If the kids at the F.O.L. are caught if they escape they are killed, according to the elder kids. With TPN, the Mother knew the elder kids, Ray, Emma and Norman, were beyond the boundary and the next day Norman was sent to his “Adoption”

5. Adoption/Fledgling Day

So in the world of TPN, Adoption Day is pretty much what the kids think but instead isn’t. That is when the kids are sent to their death for the Demons to consume. The trio learn this and are horrified. In Black Butler, Fledgling Day is the same concept but with the elder kids knowing something is up and Finny’s prediction that it means kids get used for blood is all too similar. The children are being raised to a certain age then being sent off to their doom. RIP Conny and Ginny. Note Conny losing her bunny and Ginny losing her hair.

6. Food/Blood

As mentioned before the kids have a predetermined fate. In TPN they are a main food source where as in Black Butler they are a blood source. Each student is tested and I’m sure the higher the test results the more satisfying the meal will be for either party.

There are many differences that could be considered similarities with the numbers/clothing in TPN and the classes in Black Butler. Black Butler orphans gotta stay in place where TPN kids have more free roam.
