Exalted Secret Santa 2023 Complete!

Thanks for another excellent year, friends. This year was actually tied for most participants to date, to the point of having some trouble formatting this post. (tumblr fears our power.)

HEY GUYS, I STARTED A WEBCOMIC!

Renegade Legends is my fantasy/adventure comic, all hand-drawn, and just now starting on Tapas, Webtoon, and right here on Tumblr!

So far, I’ve only got the Chapter One cover up. HOWEVER, I plan on posting once a week (because that’s all the faster I can draw the pages...) although I’m not settled yet on *which* day of the week. Open to suggestions/requests there.

EEEEEEE. 8D i got the most amazing portrait of Carthach as a present from @toxinfox, OMG. IT’S BEAUTIFUL. Holy shit that skintone. It’s all marker on bristol, too - I don’t know how she manages to get markers to jump through flaming hoops like that. It’s sorcery.

Please don’t get me wrong here, I’m not implying that it has to be attractive or even should be from a character design perspective... But I genuinely feel sorry for the kind of dude who looks at that Huntress outfit and doesn’t think it’s hot.

She’s powerful, fit, focused, confident and in control of her situation... if you’re only interested in someone who’s uncertain and submissive and looks like they’ve been obviously packaged for lazy objectification, what’s that say about you?

For the most part I like Boris Vallejo art and low-effort eye candy as much as the next nerdy guy, but if that’s all you’re able to handle, that’s pretty sad. 

Apparently Mary Elizabeth Winstead in Birds of Prey wielding a crossbow isn’t sexy according to a man ??

it’s almost as if men are used to seeing women in film through a male gaze where they are sexualized and objectified for male pleasure and approval.??

huh anyway MEN are weak and ladies enjoy Mary Elizabeth Winstead looking hot and powerful as Huntress

I personally want to thank @toxinfox for such an amazing birthday gift and commission! She was probably just as exited as I was when I got it in the mail this morning. The coat fits extremely well and it's very comfortable. If anyone is looking for great art and or cosplay for the secret world I would definitely recommend her work! ❤

Homecoming, Pages 1 - 3

Nikeiva 'Nyx' Kasta returns to Paragon City after spending years away, sorting some things out. Her hero license has lapsed in the interim, and renewing it is one of her very first objectives upon returning. With her renewed license in hand, she feels a sense of relief and rightness. She belongs here. No matter how long she’s gone, returning to Paragon City always feels like coming home. (Marker on Bristol, as usual. And yes, I'm a die hard City of Heroes player.)

I had an idea to hold a ‘bad faeries’ costume party this summer, but with all of pandemic bullshit going on, who knows if THAT will happen. Maybe next year...

Anyway, this is a concept for the invitations, which ended up looking like the book cover for A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream retold as a teen horror movie. I kinda dig it.

All Geralt of Rivia wanted was a quiet night next to his fire. The woods had other plans. "...Fuck," said Geralt. (Ok, so, I rarely do fan art, but I enjoyed this show, so have some Geralt fan art, done in my usual markers-on-Bristol style!)
