Mactan Island-Hopping Adventure for just a Day!
First off, if you prefer to go for a travel agency to help you with your island-hopping adventure, there’s a great tour agency just within Lapu-Lapu City and they are so professional with their works, just visit Cebu Tours website and look for their available packages also.
Doing you island hopping with the help of a tour agency isn’t bad at all, although there are a lot of scammers lately but all you just have to do is to do some extra effort in looking for a certified, honest, and professional agency so that you can totally enjoy your vacation instead of worrying about getting scammed.
Possible islands to visit:
Gilutongan Island – A 20 to 30 minutes away from Mactan Island and a perfect place to do scuba diving and snorkeling activities. You should never miss this island for your Mactan Island Hopping since this is the perfect place for every scuba diver alike.
Nalusuan Island - Nalusuan is actually a hectare long manmade island resort located in the Cebu Strait which is one of the islands included amongst the Olango Island Group found between Bohol and Mactan Island (part of Cebu). The area used to be a sandbar which later underwent land reclamation in order to build the Nalusuan Island Resort. Good for diving and snorkeling.
Caohagan Island - Caohagan is a small yet popular island-hopping destination which is also part of the Olango island chain. It is about 30 minutes away from Mactan. The island also boasts of a lush forest, marine life for snorkeling, and a lagoon with crystal clear water for swimming.
Sulpa Island – Is one of the six satellite islands of Olango Island Group. It is a privately-owned island but uninhabited by people. Sulpa Island is just a small island and perfect for family swimming and camping is allowed there. Not suitable for diving.
San Vicente Island - The entire island is an oasis, full of mangrove forests and a bird sanctuary. Perfect destination for snorkeling activity. You can see a lot of different species of fish and beautiful corals too.
Pandanon Island - Pandanon Island is famous for its long stretch of white sands, which is great for lazing around and sunbathing. Not far from the island edge is a long, narrow sandbar. The island is perfect for family swimming through its white sand beaches with shallow waters and cottages you can rent. A sand bar which extends to a nearby island is also an attraction along with local cogon grass products. Unlike other islands, Pandanon has no place for diving activities. Also make sure Pandanon is included on your Mactan Island Hopping itinerary so you won't miss such beautiful island in Mactan.

Kamia Bay Resort: Home of Aqua Play Parks in Palawan!
Kamia Bay Resort is remarkably beautiful with its pristine water, airy shore and fine sand. The resort is appealing in its own way because it has a lot of secret spot to offer! I am surprised that there’s more to see even just few walks from the lobby!
When we arrived at the resort, we were welcomed with glee by the staff. They served us with smiles and refreshments.
This orange fruity juice is tangy. I like it’s presentation that matches the heat of the summer.
At the reception comes with a dining area. I like the tiki feel of the resort since I’ve always loved nipa huts and wooden-inspired furniture. It never goes wrong for a resort to come up with a tropical or tiki inspired theme.
We were also served this turon and refreshing iced tea. The turon is crispy with the right amount of sweetness. The iced tea is rich, not tasteless as water.
The look of the bay area. From afar is the biggest inflatable playground which is the Aqua Play Park.
From another angle, this is what the Kamia Bay Resort looks like. I like all the trees and plants that surrounds. Seeing this resort makes me feel at peace and brand new. There’s a certain calmness that the resort gives! It must be the sea, the greens and the staff!
Another look of the bay! Guest would notice the clear waters in a glance.
Another look of the dining area where guests are welcomed and served.
From a bit far of this photo, you will see other “kubo” or nipa hut cottages where guests could stay during their visit. This man on the picture is the operations manager of Aqua Play Parks. He gave us orientation of the do’s and dont’s while playing at the inflatable park. These paddle boards above can be used for just roaming around the bay or as transport going to the playpark.
This is me enjoying every spot in the resort. This one’s the lifeguard’s iconic seat.
Tadah! Not only you can do paddle board, jetski or ride a speed boat but you can roam around the island while riding a bike.
This is the one I’m talking a bout! Few walks from the reception area comes a rocky formation where we took nice photos! This is one of my favorite spots because it looks like a pond.
The resort also provides fresh coconut1
During our freetime, we were able to visit Puting Buhanging sandbar which is just few minutes boat away from Kamia Bay Resort. I love its milky soft sand where we can’t resist taking pictures.
I can’t believe that few minutes from Kamia Bay Resort is this sandbar that gives another serene experience to us!
The water is as white as the sand!
After our island happing, we were served some great food for lunch! This one is the pancit bihon. I like that this one has many vegetables. It was tasty!
This one is caldereta if I’m not mistaken. I like its savory and sweet taste. It has generous amount of pork, carrots and potatoes. The pork is soft and it has average cut.
Fish Fillet. The breading didn’t dominate the fish.
Macaroni salad. It looks plain but is tasty!
Kamia Bay Resort is probably the best Resort I’ve been to Palawan. I like the clear vast sea upfronting the resort. From the left side of the resort is the clean shower area and mini store where you can buy some food and other necessities. Going to the right side of the resort are mangrove and rock formations that will make you snap more shots!
We were lucky to have experienced Aqua Play Parks with this respected model in the Philippines, Ms. Wilma Dassent. She was so fun to be with. She cracks a lot of jokes and mingle with us like we were her buddies for a long time!
How I wish we didn’t leave this paradise to soon! The trees and plants here were naturally beautiful but maintained well by the staff of the resort. The bay is clean in any area and the beautiful people who served us was something I won’t really forget. I suggest this place not because I’ve been here, but because I want my readers to experience nature’s beauty and feel the excitement of being a kid again by trying Aqua Play Parks.
The best time of the day during my visit is morning and when the sun sets. There’s something about the place that makes me feel alive! It must be the sun rays but i guess the vibe of the place surely adds to it.
I believe that this resort is pure, untouched and most of all non-commercialized. See for yourself.
