Both of these were rotting in my ibis gallery never to see light of day (until now) i think this is a good introduction on how much i like to change how i draw constantly

drawing randomly picked touhous and len'ens day 7: mima (touhou 1)!

the first of 3 mimas i will be drawing over the course of this, seeing as she has 3 vastly different designs (her touhou 3 and 5 designs are similar enough that i'm just lumping them together)

anyways figuring this design out was a nightmare. everyone always draws her with a normal sailor uniform shirt on but like. if you look at the sprite she CLEARLY is NOT wearing it properly, girl what are you DOING-

so. i tried my best lol-

at least her other 2 designs are more clearly defined, so hopefully those won't give me a headache lol. still had fun drawing her regardless, she's one of my faves from the pc-98 era :]

Originally intended to finish this for Shingyoku Day (June 9th, also when I started), but got a bit too busy with exams and all. In my interpretation, they are (formerly?) a kannushi and a miko.

About the titles of the first three Touhou games

The names of the first three Touhou games are:

東方靈異伝　～ (The) Highly Responsive to Prayers

東方封魔録　～ (The) Story of Eastern Wonderland

東方夢時空　～ (The) Phantasmagoria of Dim.Dream

I've put "the" in brackets because in official media, there are instances with and without the definite article.

Title screens

The title screen of Touhou 1 says The Highly Responsive to Prayers and the title screen of Touhou 3 says The Phantasmagoria of Dim. Dream. Story of Eastern Wonderland has only the Japanese part of the name in the title screen (see /tagged/title2).

Mystic Square references

In Mystic Square's "Touhou Project All Cast" which appears after the ending scenes of the extra stage, the names are as follows:

I am super happy with this. Now, if only I could find someone selling the PC-98 games for less than $5,000,000,000.............
