this is still my favourite version of everything to help you sleep. i think a lot about how young she was when she wrote sprained ankle but sometimes i forget just how young she also was when writing totl. like, she played sour breath live in *2015* before sprained ankle was even released. it’s interesting to see how the lyrics changed (mostly with sour breath). the final versions are definitely less dark, which makes sense given how intentional she wanted to be with totl’s message of hope and recovery

back again bc i was gonna start on one of my other 2 htf aus (magical warrior au, final fabtasy xiv au will be real eventually) but. i remember that i still dont habe a title. ffxiv au also doesnt have a title yet either to be fair. but.

htf who hates writing totles. htf who is bad at writing titles. htf who needs to go to bed at a reasonable time more. htf who needs to get out of the inbox. htf who sits on 'post work/chapter' for way too long because they still dont know what to call the thing they just wrote.

Setting up the playlist for the scene, Sawyer had double-checked hog-tying with his bondage class teacher, as well as his textbooks, wanting to make sure he was doing everything properly and safely with Jae. He had been having fun listening to the songs and trying to match them to what sensory tools he thought were best fit. "You ready?" He asked Jae, once he made sure he was tied up comfortably. "I tried to do a whole range of genres so it's a gonna be a bit of a rollercoaster."

Finally, a scene where Jae was able to submit. He was enjoying branching out and challenging himself with doing more things as the Dominant, but he was always the most at ease submitting. And it made it even better that he trusted Sawyer, even if they never scened before. He was probably one of his best friends at the institute and he had a feeling this would only help to solidify their friendship. "Sounds good, Sir." The totle felt good leaving his lips ad he knelt in front of the other man. "I can't wait to hear what songs you came up with. Thanks again for doing this with me, I'm really looking forward to it. Making sure that the knots were comfortable yet tight enough, Sawyer smiled at the title. He didn't normally like titles from friends, but it was a scene after all. And he was glad that the boundaries were comfortably crossed here. "I hope I've done your card justice," Sawyer said honestly, "Yeah of course man. It can be a fully immersive experience." He linked up the AirPods, popping them into Jae's ears. He pressed play, and got the first tool out, a couple of rubber bands, wanting to go off the typical route with the sensory play, focusing on linking the song with touch. He rolled the bands on Jae's wrist, and gently plucked them in time with the tune of Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes, hopefully in a way that caused tingles rather than pain.

Jae really enjoyed the feeling of the ropes around his body. He was laid on his back, the muscles in his arms and legs burning above him deliciously. The ropes were scratching against his skin in the perfect way. He was ready and sighed with relief when his AirPods connected. He recognized the song right away, his toes moving to the beat. He tried to think of what tool could he used for this and was surprised when he felt the band of the rubber band whip at his wrist. He jumped at first, but enjoyed the slight tinge of pain. Plus it was satisfying feeling the beat of the song. “I like that.”

Sawyer froze up slightly at Jae's jump, waiting out for the other boy to safeword, grateful when he didn't and relaxed. He grinned when Jae approved of the choice. "Thanks," He said, "I guess whenever I listen to this song I just like feeling the beat, the initial guitar strums and drum-beat are what make the song, and I like the feeling of them standing out." He probably didn't need to explain every song and sensory tool choice, but he liked being open, feeling like a good Dominant as he did so. He didn't want the song to end, enjoying flicking the elastic bands against Jae's skin, but it eventually did and he wondered what came next ont he shuffle selection, chuckling when Rihanna's Shut Up and Drive appeared. A choice Fauna helped him pick. He stopped the elastic bands, using a hand-held roller massage tool, going up and down Jae's back in rotation, as if playing with a Hot Wheels car and gaining momentum for it.
