#total solar eclipse 2009
for several months I have the years in mind 2027-2029. I haven't done my research thoroughly yet. I came across this (I'm at the beginning) The eclipse of August 2, 2027 will be the homologous solar eclipse of that of July 22, 2009. It will be one of the longest of the 21st century. This will be the 17th total eclipse of the 21st century, but the 20th passage of the Moon's shadow over Earth (in this century).

Countdown to TOTALITY
Here’s what you’ll see in the hours, minutes and seconds leading up to the solar eclipse
On Monday, a total solar eclipse will sweep from Mexico to Maine, plunging rural farmland and major cities alike into a sudden daytime darkness.
The sun’s atmosphere will fan outward from behind a jet-black moon in a spectacle the majority of the Lower 48 won’t witness again until the year 2045.
NASA is estimating that 32 million Americans will be in the path of totality, which sweeps over San Antonio, Dallas, Fort Worth, Little Rock, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Buffalo and Burlington, Vt.
It comes less than seven years after a more fleeting total eclipse made a path from the Oregon coastline to South Carolina on Aug. 21, 2017.
This eclipse will be the longest-lasting of any on land since at least 2009, and arguably the most widely observed in history.
What’s more, it comes at a time of peak magnetic chaos on the sun, which should make for a more striking show during totality, assuming you have clear skies.
Here we break down what you’ll see in the hours, minutes and seconds leading up to totality.
Start of partial eclipse
Scientists refer to “first contact” as the moment that the moon nicks the solar disk — or when the partial phase of the eclipse begins.
For those along the path of totality, this will be about one to two hours before totality.
Within a minute or two of first contact, you’ll see the moon begin to encroach on the right side of the sun.
The only way you’ll notice that will be with eclipse glasses.
Be sure to look up when the partial eclipse begins at your location; note that the partial eclipse will be viewable over the entire Lower 48 states, even if only those along the roughly 115-mile-wide path from Texas to Maine will see a total eclipse.
60 to 15 minutes to totality
Unless you have eclipse glasses on, you won’t notice much at first.
But over the next 45 minutes, you’ll be able to see the moon’s blockage of the sun grow.
First it’ll be a nibble. Then a bite. Then only a crescent will remain.
15 minutes to totality
About 15 minutes from totality, changes in your surroundings will become more noticeable.
Seventy to 80% of the sun will be obscured, and the landscape will look less illuminated.
It might resemble an old western-style movie, akin to a sepia filter on your phone.
The color might seem off a bit, as if the sun is shining through a smoky pane of glass.
You may feel a general sense of unease or foreboding.
Temperatures will begin dropping.
You may also see most of the white, puffy cumulus clouds fizzling because of the loss of heat from the sun.
10 minutes to totality
You may first begin to think to yourself, “I need a vest” or “it’s getting cool.”
As totality approaches, temperatures could drop by as much as 10 to 12 degrees if the air is dry and crisp, or 5 to 8 degrees if it’s humid.
Around the same time, the shadows will be getting visibly sharper.
During a solar eclipse, the sun’s apparent size shrinks, meaning shadows are cast from a smaller source.
As a result, shadows sharpen, because the rays of light — and therefore shadows — overlap more.
You might notice small sickle-shaped projections of the mostly eclipsed sun in the shadows of leaves and trees; each small gap acts as a miniature “pinhole projector.”
Around this time, it will start to feel weird outside.
The sun will look like it’s shining high in the sky — and indeed it is — but with only 20 percent of its usual intensity.
Crickets will start chirping.
Birds may return to their roosts.
90 seconds before totality
With a minute and a half left to go, things will start happening fast — and the ambient environment will transform before your eyes.
There are a number of things to look out for:
Shadow bands
The moon will be nearly covering the whole sun, and the sun will appear to shrink to a point source of light.
This means that the last rays of sunlight we get are fully parallel and aligned, or collimated.
However, atmospheric turbulence (air pockets, differences in temperature, etc.) will bend, or refract, parallel rays at slightly different angles.
The now-misaligned rays will create a bizarre interference pattern on the ground.
If you have a white towel, sheet or piece of poster board, bring that and place it on the ground. It will make observing the shadow bands easier.
Shadow bands first appear about 90 seconds before totality, and are most noticeable between 60 seconds and 30 seconds before totality.
They also can be seen in the moments after totality.
The umbra
Look to the southwest about 90 seconds before totality.
The sky will look purple or dusky, as if a veil of darkness is being draped overhead.
The rest of the sky will look normal.
You’ll be seeing the edge of the umbra — the darkest part of the moon’s shadow — arriving at several times the speed of sound.
When the shadow crosses into Texas from Mexico, it’ll be moving at 1,600 mph.
By the time it gets to northern Maine some 68 minutes later, it’ll move at a whopping 3,000 mph.
45 seconds to totality
The sky will abruptly darken faster than you can possibly imagine.
Each time you blink, you’ll open your eyes to a different landscape.
Your eyes might struggle to adjust at first.
Stars will awaken from their midday slumber, suddenly becoming noticeable and twinkling overhead.
Jupiter will also emerge above and to the left of the sun; Venus, and perhaps Saturn and Mars, will make an appearance below to the right.
Eventually, the sky will plunge into a deep shade of royal blue that you may not have seen before. It’s difficult to describe.
Winds will slacken or abate as the air, rapidly chilled by the moon’s shadow, sinks — suppressing any breeze that had been formerly stirred up.
A change of wind direction is possible, too.
30 seconds to totality
You should still be wearing your glasses.
Be on the lookout for “Baily’s Beads” — the final pinpricks of sunlight shining through the valleys of the moon.
They’ll last about 15 seconds before totality.
Then the diamond ring — when the myriad beads all congeal into one lone, searing beacon.
TOTALITY
You can only remove your eclipse glasses during totality.
And when you do, you’ll be transported to another universe (figuratively speaking, of course).
Where the sun should be, you’ll see a black hole.
It’s the blackest black you’ll ever see.
That’s the moon blocking all incoming light.
Fanning out from behind the moon will be the sun’s wispy, diaphanous atmosphere — the corona.
Hairlike strands of magnetism will be visible radiating outward.
The horizon in all directions will be glowing a delicate shade of amber — the so-called “360-degree sunrise.”
Keep in mind that the moon’s shadow will only be between 100 and 120 miles wide, so the horizon literally depicts areas that are still experiencing daylight.
You’re in the midst of a localized nightfall that only you get to enjoy.
Savor every second of totality.
Put the phones away — they won’t capture the eclipse.
Instead, treasure every fleeting moment.
Time will seem to stand still, but the moment will be gone in an instant.
The memories, however, will last a lifetime.

Total Solar Eclipse 2024: The Moons Moment in the Sun
How do we know exactly where and when the Moon will cast its shadow? Eclipse prediction depends on understanding the positions and movements of the Moon, Sun, and Earth. Modern maps build on a long human history of eclipse forecasting. And since 2009, NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) has been mapping the Moon in unprecedented detail. from NASA https://ift.tt/vmefFBd

10 Things Einstein Got Right
One hundred years ago, on May 29, 1919, astronomers observed a total solar eclipse in an ambitious  effort to test Albert Einstein’s general theory of relativity by seeing it in action. Essentially, Einstein thought space and time were intertwined in an infinite “fabric,” like an outstretched blanket. A massive object such as the Sun bends the spacetime blanket with its gravity, such that light no longer travels in a straight line as it passes by the Sun.
This means the apparent positions of background stars seen close to the Sun in the sky – including during a solar eclipse – should seem slightly shifted in the absence of the Sun, because the Sun’s gravity bends light. But until the eclipse experiment, no one was able to test Einstein’s theory of general relativity, as no one could see stars near the Sun in the daytime otherwise.
The world celebrated the results of this eclipse experiment— a victory for Einstein, and the dawning of a new era of our understanding of the universe.
General relativity has many important consequences for what we see in the cosmos and how we make discoveries in deep space today. The same is true for Einstein's slightly older theory, special relativity, with its widely celebrated equation E=mc². Here are 10 things that result from Einstein’s theories of relativity:
Tumblr media
1. Universal Speed Limit
Einstein's famous equation E=mc² contains "c," the speed of light in a vacuum. Although light comes in many flavors – from the rainbow of colors humans can see to the radio waves that transmit spacecraft data – Einstein said all light must obey the speed limit of 186,000 miles (300,000 kilometers) per second. So, even if two particles of light carry very different amounts of energy, they will travel at the same speed.
This has been shown experimentally in space. In 2009, our Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope detected two photons at virtually the same moment, with one carrying a million times more energy than the other. They both came from a high-energy region near the collision of two neutron stars about 7 billion years ago. A neutron star is the highly dense remnant of a star that has exploded. While other theories posited that space-time itself has a "foamy" texture that might slow down more energetic particles, Fermi's observations found in favor of Einstein.
Tumblr media
2. Strong Lensing
Just like the Sun bends the light from distant stars that pass close to it, a massive object like a galaxy distorts the light from another object that is much farther away. In some cases, this phenomenon can actually help us unveil new galaxies. We say that the closer object acts like a “lens,” acting like a telescope that reveals the more distant object. Entire clusters of galaxies can be lensed and act as lenses, too.
When the lensing object appears close enough to the more distant object in the sky, we actually see multiple images of that faraway object. In 1979, scientists first observed a double image of a quasar, a very bright object at the center of a galaxy that involves a supermassive black hole feeding off a disk of inflowing gas. These apparent copies of the distant object change in brightness if the original object is changing, but not all at once, because of how space itself is bent by the foreground object’s gravity.
Sometimes, when a distant celestial object is precisely aligned with another object, we see light bent into an “Einstein ring” or arc. In this image from our Hubble Space Telescope, the sweeping arc of light represents a distant galaxy that has been lensed, forming a “smiley face” with other galaxies.
Tumblr media
3. Weak Lensing
When a massive object acts as a lens for a farther object, but the objects are not specially aligned with respect to our view, only one image of the distant object is projected. This happens much more often. The closer object’s gravity makes the background object look larger and more stretched than it really is. This is called “weak lensing.”
Weak lensing is very important for studying some of the biggest mysteries of the universe: dark matter and dark energy. Dark matter is an invisible material that only interacts with regular matter through gravity, and holds together entire galaxies and groups of galaxies like a cosmic glue. Dark energy behaves like the opposite of gravity, making objects recede from each other. Three upcoming observatories -- Our Wide Field Infrared Survey Telescope, WFIRST, mission, the European-led Euclid space mission with NASA participation, and the ground-based Large Synoptic Survey Telescope --- will be key players in this effort. By surveying distortions of weakly lensed galaxies across the universe, scientists can characterize the effects of these persistently puzzling phenomena.
Gravitational lensing in general will also enable NASA’s James Webb Space telescope to look for some of the very first stars and galaxies of the universe.
Tumblr media
4. Microlensing
So far, we’ve been talking about giant objects acting like magnifying lenses for other giant objects. But stars can also “lens” other stars, including stars that have planets around them. When light from a background star gets “lensed” by a closer star in the foreground, there is an increase in the background star’s brightness. If that foreground star also has a planet orbiting it, then telescopes can detect an extra bump in the background star’s light, caused by the orbiting planet. This technique for finding exoplanets, which are planets around stars other than our own, is called “microlensing.”
Our Spitzer Space Telescope, in collaboration with ground-based observatories, found an “iceball” planet through microlensing. While microlensing has so far found less than 100 confirmed planets,  WFIRST could find more than 1,000 new exoplanets using this technique.
Tumblr media
5. Black Holes
The very existence of black holes, extremely dense objects from which no light can escape, is a prediction of general relativity. They represent the most extreme distortions of the fabric of space-time, and are especially famous for how their immense gravity affects light in weird ways that only Einstein’s theory could explain.
In 2019 the Event Horizon Telescope international collaboration, supported by the National Science Foundation and other partners, unveiled the first image of a black hole’s event horizon, the border that defines a black hole’s “point of no return” for nearby material. NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory, Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array (NuSTAR), Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory, and Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope all looked at the same black hole in a coordinated effort, and researchers are still analyzing the results.
Tumblr media
6. Relativistic Jets
This Spitzer image shows the galaxy Messier 87 (M87) in infrared light, which has a supermassive black hole at its center. Around the black hole is a disk of extremely hot gas, as well as two jets of material shooting out in opposite directions. One of the jets, visible on the right of the image, is pointing almost exactly toward Earth. Its enhanced brightness is due to the emission of light from particles traveling toward the observer at near the speed of light, an effect called “relativistic beaming.” By contrast, the other jet is invisible at all wavelengths because it is traveling away from the observer near the speed of light. The details of how such jets work are still mysterious, and scientists will continue studying black holes for more clues.
Tumblr media
7. A Gravitational Vortex
Speaking of black holes, their gravity is so intense that they make infalling material “wobble” around them. Like a spoon stirring honey, where honey is the space around a black hole, the black hole’s distortion of space has a wobbling effect on material orbiting the black hole. Until recently, this was only theoretical. But in 2016, an international team of scientists using European Space Agency's XMM-Newton and our Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array (NUSTAR) announced they had observed the signature of wobbling matter for the first time. Scientists will continue studying these odd effects of black holes to further probe Einstein’s ideas firsthand.
Incidentally, this wobbling of material around a black hole is similar to how Einstein explained Mercury’s odd orbit. As the closest planet to the Sun, Mercury feels the most gravitational tug from the Sun, and so its orbit’s orientation is slowly rotating around the Sun, creating a wobble.
Tumblr media
 8. Gravitational Waves
Ripples through space-time called gravitational waves were hypothesized by Einstein about 100 years ago, but not actually observed until recently. In 2016, an international collaboration of astronomers working with the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO) detectors announced a landmark discovery: This enormous experiment detected the subtle signal of gravitational waves that had been traveling for 1.3 billion years after two black holes merged in a cataclysmic event. This opened a brand new door in an area of science called multi-messenger astronomy, in which both gravitational waves and light can be studied.
For example, our telescopes collaborated to measure light from two neutron stars merging after LIGO detected gravitational wave signals from the event, as announced in 2017. Given that gravitational waves from this event were detected mere 1.7 seconds before gamma rays from the merger, after both traveled 140 million light-years, scientists concluded Einstein was right about something else: gravitational waves and light waves travel at the same speed.
Tumblr media
9. The Sun Delaying Radio Signals
Planetary exploration spacecraft have also shown Einstein to be right about general relativity. Because spacecraft communicate with Earth using light, in the form of radio waves, they present great opportunities to see whether the gravity of a massive object like the Sun changes light’s path.
In 1970, our Jet Propulsion Laboratory announced that Mariner VI and VII, which completed flybys of Mars in 1969, had conducted experiments using radio signals — and also agreed with Einstein. Using NASA’s Deep Space Network (DSN), the two Mariners took several hundred radio measurements for this purpose. Researchers measured the time it took for radio signals to travel from the DSN dish in Goldstone, California, to the spacecraft and back. As Einstein would have predicted, there was a delay in the total roundtrip time because of the Sun’s gravity. For Mariner VI, the maximum delay was 204 microseconds, which, while far less than a single second, aligned almost exactly with what Einstein’s theory would anticipate.
In 1979, the Viking landers performed an even more accurate experiment along these lines. Then, in 2003 a group of scientists used NASA’s Cassini Spacecraft to repeat these kinds of radio science experiments with 50 times greater precision than Viking. It’s clear that Einstein’s theory has held up!
Tumblr media
10. Proof from Orbiting Earth
In 2004, we launched a spacecraft called Gravity Probe B specifically designed to watch Einstein’s theory play out in the orbit of Earth. The theory goes that Earth, a rotating body, should be pulling the fabric of space-time around it as it spins, in addition to distorting light with its gravity.
The spacecraft had four gyroscopes and pointed at the star IM Pegasi while orbiting Earth over the poles. In this experiment, if Einstein had been wrong, these gyroscopes would have always pointed in the same direction. But in 2011, scientists announced they had observed tiny changes in the gyroscopes’ directions as a consequence of Earth, because of its gravity, dragging space-time around it.
Tumblr media
BONUS: Your GPS! Speaking of time delays, the GPS (global positioning system) on your phone or in your car relies on Einstein’s theories for accuracy. In order to know where you are, you need a receiver – like your phone, a ground station and a network of satellites orbiting Earth to send and receive signals. But according to general relativity, because of Earth’s gravity curving spacetime, satellites experience time moving slightly faster than on Earth. At the same time, special relativity would say time moves slower for objects that move much faster than others.
When scientists worked out the net effect of these forces, they found that the satellites’ clocks would always be a tiny bit ahead of clocks on Earth. While the difference per day is a matter of millionths of a second, that change really adds up. If GPS didn’t have relativity built into its technology, your phone would guide you miles out of your way!

2020-2021 THE DEEPER ASTROLOGICAL OUTLOOK
2020-2021 THE DEEPER ASTROLOGICAL OUTLOOK
By Elizabeth Peru
Dear Cosmic Community, 2020 has been a year of ‘profound change’ – within all of our lives. Indeed, it was always going to be. The new energy decade of 2020-2030 will see more change in 10 years than we’ve known in the past 10,000 years. My previous blog post details why this is. And as we look towards the final months of 2020 and into the new year of 2021, that ever-changing landscape is set to continue, with some profound astrological markers, opening the way for an awakened humanity to evolve – together.
Before I begin looking at the deeper meaning behind some of these major astrological happenings, there are 3 focal points to consider.
When you follow these practices, the path ahead ‘becomes easier’ and any upcoming changes will enhance your life experience.
Seek Beauty Within All – When you look for what is good and true within everything you see, hear, feel, touch and intuit, you increase your vibration. You’ll fill yourself up with high-frequency, ‘self-empowered’ energy. This means that when any challenge comes your way (as it will) you can respond from a strong, wise and assured view point. When you’re filled up with lower level negativity, seeking what’s wrong instead of what’s good in life, you’ll weaken your ability to respond and will ‘react’ instead, making decisions that dis-empower and pull you down. Under the 5D energy template now operating on Earth, what you focus upon, manifests quickly. I have a Guided Meditation to instantly Raise Your Vibration and inspire and motivate you.
Observe your Past and Future – As your past comes up for review, and it replays over and over in your mind, just observe yourself within it, rather than reliving it by being part of the replay. Pull yourself back, and just watch your part within it. Then you won’t be swamped by revisiting your past, but instead will learn and grow in wisdom from it. My Guided Meditation to Open Your Third Eye will assist in envisioning a soul-focused future for you.
Bring your Integrated Spiritual and Physical Presence To Bear – When you awaken to the fact that you’re a soul (a being of light) experiencing a physical life – then live like it. Walk through your life exuding your integrated spiritual and physical presence. The grater spiritual energy you emit, the stronger, more grounded and more able to effect change you become in your everyday life. My Guided Meditation for Empowering Empaths invokes your highest presence into your life.
And so, let’s look at some of the major astrological happenings for the remainder of 2020 into early 2021 and the deeper messages behind them…
The Cosmic Rectangle – September 2020. This is a planetary alignment that sees Earth placed in the centre of a giant rectangular formation, created by the overlapping energetic lines of the planetary bodies. This formation will help us to see the myriad of life ‘options’ that are actually available to use in 2020 and beyond. It extends your ability to see what’s around you, from all angles, all at once. This assists with creating an integrated spiritual and physical human. I see many souls deepening their understanding of who they are in September, with an ability to live their truth.
7 Planetary Retrogrades will also occur in September 2020. A retrograde occurs when a planetary body appears to be moving backwards around the Sun, when observed from Earth. It doesn’t actually move backwards, but it appears to from Earth, due to our relative positions moving in an ever-changing cosmic dance around the Sun. With Jupiter, Pluto, Chiron, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Mars all in retrograde for a period in mid-September, the globe will be taken back over old ground. This is where focal point 2 (that I mentioned at the beginning of this blog post) comes into play. You may feel like you’re not moving ahead and are just reliving your past, but this is not so. You’re simply being asked to observe your old patterns, so that you can improve upon them going forward. And this is the key in working the retrogrades to your advantage. This will be tricky energy for some to navigate, especially if they have no understanding of cosmic energy and its impact on our lives.
The Three Super New Moons – Beginning in September 2020 and then continuing in October and November, we will have three Super New Moons in a row – signalling our movement out of the 2020 energy fabric, as we begin to weave the picture of what our 2021 will look like. A Super New Moon occurs when the Moon is new and is also at its closest approach to Earth all month. The first Super New Moon in September is the door opener on three months of accelerated newness. Much can and will change in your life (for the better) from September until the end of November. This is where focal point 1, from the beginning of this blog post, comes into play. Seek the beauty in your life. Emit it from within you and find it outside of you. Look for it in every situation in your life – you can do this. This will make all the difference in how well you navigate and experience the final months of 2020 in your power.
Mercury Direct on ‘the day’ of the US Elections – I mention the US elections, as many in our community of light are interested in this ‘once in 4 year event’ that does have such a profound impact, not only on the US, but also on the globe. The lead-up to November 3, 2020 sees two Super New Moons occurring and between 7 and 5 planetary retrogrades. So, we will have one cosmic influence asking us to seriously address our past and another to optimistically address our future. And with postal voting set to be huge in the US for this election, this will effect voting preferences. Again this is where focal point 2 (that I mentioned at the beginning of this blog post) comes into play. Rather than becoming angry or confused about the past, or wishing that you were back there and not where you are today, observe it instead. From careful observation comes a progressive life view that you can then take forward to effect great positive change. In the lead-up to the election Mercury will be in retrograde and this can cause create some uncertainty, as to which way the election results will go, Mercury influences all communication and messages, electronics, the Internet and the electrical charge within us all. There will be varying poll results, and views from day to day, right up until the actual day of the election – counting could also be delayed. Which is interesting because, by the afternoon on November 3 (in the US) Mercury will have just moved direct, before a final result is announced. That is good news for the eventual clarity of results. There will also be a Blue Full Moon only days before the election, just as Uranus makes it closest approach to Earth all year. Uranus causes us to break out of old patterns in an unexpected and often-surprising way and the Blue Full Moon (the second Full Moon in a month) will demand that the old completes in a grand way. Over these final days before the election, over-blown and ever-changeable energy will be present. Do your best to focus on the bigger positives for our globe over the next 4 years and that we’ll experience a smooth transition, that is respectful and all-inclusive of the wise beings of the light that we are.
The Final Eclipses of 2020 – Beginning in late November and continuing through until almost the end of December, we’ll close the year with the energy of radical change, similar energy with which we began 2020. The final eclipse season for 2020 will be intently felt. In late November, there’s a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, and then in mid-December, a Total Solar Eclipse on the New Moon, just before Chiron moves direct. This Total Solar Eclipse is one of the final cosmic events for 2020 that will stamp a completion (and honouring) of all events in your life from January to December. Eclipses force us to clear out what isn’t working in our life in favour of what is. My advice is always the same during Eclipse Season – ‘do your work and make your changes’ each day. Don’t wait for the actual eclipses to make the radical changes for you – as they turn out not be what you desire’. You can zip up in evolutionary knowing in the final two months of 2020 with the ever-useful, uplifting energy of The Eclipses.
The Great Jupiter/Saturn Conjunction in Aquarius 2020 (an influence into 2021) – On the Solstice in December 2020, Jupiter and Saturn will meet in the zodiacal sign of Aquarius, known for its progressive energy and bringing forth of societal change that focuses upon ‘we instead of me’. Saturn is a slow mover and takes almost 2.5 years to cycle through each sign of the zodiac and will transit Aquarius until 2023. This is why it takes almost 30 years to return to the same position as the day you were born, known as your Saturn Return (a time of great awakening and deepening in our lives every 28 – 30 years). Jupiter will transit Aquarius for just over 12 months until December 29, 2021. Jupiter takes just over 12 years to cycle through the entire zodiac and it last transited Aquarius from 2009 – 2010. I’ve mentioned previously that the period of 2010 – 2020 is what has prepared us for 2020-2030 and the biggest shift in 10,000 years Indeed, the years of 2009 – 2010 have been what has prepared us for entry into The Aquarian Era of Light, which cosmically kicks-off on The December Solstice 2020, with Jupiter and Saturn both meeting in Aquarius – a great conjunction that last occurred 20 years ago in 2000.
I will be holding a special global event on this great cosmic occasion in December 2020 just for our Tip-Off Community
Very Early 2021 – With such a magnificent event as the Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius on the Solstice at the end of 2020, the opening weeks of 2021 will be infused with Aquarian energy, inflecting us with higher ideals and a humanitarian outlook. I’ll be speaking more ‘very soon’ on the bigger cosmic picture of the entire year of 2021, as so much is still shifting in 2020 that the landscape is still morphing.
ARE YOU READY TO GO FURTHER? NOW IS THE TIME TO START BEFORE 2021 BEGINS For all of the details, of every cosmic event and how this energy will be advancing your spiritual path and growth each day, you can take this opportunity and join with the thousands of awake and aware souls globally, who are already successfully ascending on their spiritual path every week with my daily energy forecasts and soulful life guidance The Tip-Off It’s a choice that I know, will empower you…

Month of Spooks #10 - Morkoláb
The 'Morkoláb' is a demonic parrot from the folklore of Hungary. During solar and lunar eclipses it is said to ascend to the sky and try to swallow the celestial bodies but will always regurgitate them. When it is not causing eclipses it nestles in the 'Tree of Dawn'. The name of the Morkoláb, also called 'Markoláb', is thought to derive from the Slavic varcolac, a vampiric being which would also travel to the skies and swallow the sun and moon. Nevertheless some early linguists thought they could derive the name from the Babylonian nergal or King Solomon's adversary Marcolf. Among the Palóc in the towns of Szőreg and Ságújfalu it was said that "the Morkoláb eats the day" and it's name was also used for a bogey. Sometimes the Morkoláb was also described like the Hungarian 'lidérc', as a vampiric being that hoards treasures. Comparisons have been drawn between the Morkoláb and other evil eclipse spirits, like the Hindu Rahu, the Finnish Rakhoi and the Mongolian Aracho/Arachol. An asteroid has been named after the Morkoláb because it was discovered during the time of a total lunar eclipse.

What is Solar Eclipse?
You might be wondering: what is solar eclipse? A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun and obscures our view of the Sun. This event also happens to occur when the Moon is closest to Earth’s orbit. If the eclipse is total, the Moon will completely block the Sun’s disk. While most people do not get to witness a total eclipse, you can still see the event if you live in a place where it occurs.
Annular eclipse
If you’re wondering what to do during an annular solar eclipse, look at the timing. There’s a good chance that you’ll be able to watch the total eclipse at some point, but you won’t be able to view the annular maximum point. However, you can watch the eclipse in stages. You can watch it in sections, or you can even view a partial eclipse if you’re lucky enough.
An annular solar eclipse occurs when the moon’s apparent diameter is smaller than the Sun’s, making the Sun look more like an annulus. This eclipse will be visible over parts of western North America, Mexico, and Central America in 2023. The exact time of this eclipse will be 1503 UTC. The moon will be in a perfect alignment to block out the Sun, but it will still cast a shadow on part of the Earth.
During the annular eclipse, the path begins at sunrise in Ontario, Canada and then sweeps across most of the northern part of the world. The greatest eclipse will occur at noon local time in northern Greenland, swinging by the North pole and ending in northeastern Siberia. Approximately three-and-a-half minutes of the eclipse will be visible in this area. However, it is important to wear sunglasses while viewing the eclipse because it may reflect on water.
Total eclipse
The longest total solar eclipse of the 21st century occurred on July 22, 2009, at the descending node of the Moon’s orbit. This event had a magnitude of 1.07991. The longest total solar eclipse of the 3rd millennium will take place on 16 July 2186. However, there are many factors that make this event so spectacular. Listed below are some interesting facts about total solar eclipses. This article will help you see the eclipse in all its glory.
The most famous total solar eclipse is the one that lasts about seven and a half minutes. When the moon completely covers the Sun, you can see the stars and planets and brighter stars in the sky. Observers may also see the planets Mercury and Venus. The eclipse itself changes the behavior of some animals during this time. During totality, automatic street lights will turn on and birds will stop chirping. Afterward, the air will be a little cooler.
Observers should be well-rested — the experience is eerie. You might even notice the shadow bands just before the totality. These are caused by the Earth’s turbulent atmosphere refracting the Sun’s light. The last flash of sunlight will give the appearance of a diamond ring. These are just a few of the fascinating facts about the Total Solar Eclipse. It is definitely worth a try! Consider the following points.
Hybrid eclipse
A hybrid solar eclipse is the result of an annular eclipse with the Moon near Earth. The Moon’s size appears to increase with increasing distance from Earth. An annular eclipse, on the other hand, is where the Moon is closer to Earth, and it only obscures the sun’s disk. Total eclipses occur when the Moon’s point of umbra touches the Earth. A hybrid eclipse combines all three types of eclipses.
A hybrid solar eclipse occurs when the Moon and Sun are about the same size and are in the middle of their paths. The main phase of a hybrid eclipse is brief, but the Moon covers the Sun at its centre. It is rare to see a hybrid eclipse in most locations. Observers in these areas should be aware that the hybrid eclipse will not look the same at each location. But, if you’re lucky enough to view a hybrid eclipse, you can see the partial eclipse before and after the main phase of the hybrid eclipse.
A map of the Earth’s path during the Hybrid Solar Eclipse of 2023 shows the paths of the Moon’s shadows across the globe on the day of the event. The northern and southern paths of the eclipse are blue. The central line is red, and the eclipse is longest at this location. The yellow lines indicate the position and time of maximum eclipse, respectively. These predictions are based on the VSOP87/ELP2000–85 solar and lunar ephemerides.

Big Bad Wolf Book Sale 2018 (Philippines)
Last February 16 to 25, Big Bad Wolf Books held a huge book sale at World Trade Center in Pasay City. This was the first time I’ve heard such fair which made me look more into this so called event. What I’ve learned is that this is a yearly book fair in Malaysia which started way back 2009. And for the first time, they managed to hold one in the Philippines! You may have been to a lot of book fairs but what made this special is we can go whenever we want since it was open 24 hours a day. Imagine browsing for books and buying affordable reads anytime you want to!
My family and I went to the event around 11 in the evening. To our surprise, there were still a lot of people. There were a lot of genres to choose from. This included my favorite self-help books, art and design books, and a lot more. I honestly wasn’t expecting big discounts but, wow, Big Bad Wolf Books made it so hard for me to pick particular books that I really want to buy. Most books were on sale for 50-80% off. This was such a big help especially with the art and design books I really like browsing.
Around 1 in the morning, we finally made our decisions with which books to buy and lined up and pay. The line was so long but there were a lot of cashier registers to attend to the great amount of customers so it took us more or less 10 to 15 minutes, which wasn’t bad.
From browsing for more than two hours, I managed to grab 6 books. But when a friend of mine went to the book fair, I asked her to buy me another book, hahaha!
Here’s a list of the books I bought and how much I bought them compared to their original price:
Sun Moon Earth: The History of Solar Eclipses from Omens of Doom to Einstein and Exoplanets by Tyler Nordgren - PHP 290 (Originally 26.99 USD or PHP 1,409.61)
Creativity: The Perfect Crime by Philippe Petit - PHP 230 (Originally 27.95 USD or PHP 14,59.74)
Ugly: The Aesthetics of Everything by Stephen Bayley - PHP 480 (Originally 25 GBP or PHP 1,835.58)
Cosmos: The Inforgraphic Book of Space by Stuart Lowe and Chris North - PHP 480 (Originally 34.99 USD or PHP 1,827.42)
Tropical Minimal by Danielle Miller - PHP 480 (Originally 40.00 USD or PHP 2,089.08)
The Architecture of Natural Light by Henry Plummer - PHP 680 (Originally 65.00 USD or PHP 3,394.76)
*Fifty Modern Buildings That Changed The World by Deyan Sudjic- PHP 290 (Originally 12.99 GBP or PHP 953.76)
For a total of PHP 2,930, I managed to buy 7 books that are originally worth PHP 12,013.541. I was able to save PHP 9,083.541, wow. Thank you so much, Big Bad Wolf Books for the experience! I know I, along with many others, are awaiting for your return. (And I hope I’ll be able to save money for the next book fairs too, hahaha!)

The Total Solar Eclipse Is Happening
Tumblr media
The solar eclipses have actually been come close to in different ways throughout the years. Lots of years earlier, they were thought to be prophecies of fatality. In fact, they are safe to living population. Einstein verified his Concept of Relativity with the aid of the solar eclipse. The solar eclipse that lasted the lengthiest in the 21st century was on July 21/22, 2009 and also lasted 6 minutes as well as 39 seconds.
Partial Solar Eclipse
Tumblr media
The first point that is going to happen is the partial lunar eclipse. This occurs when the Planet actions between the Sun and also the Moon but they are not in a straight line. When this occurs, one small component of the surface of the Moon is covered by the central part of the Earth's darkness, to be exact, the central and the darkest component of the darkness. This is called the umbra. The remainder of the Moon's surface is covered by the not so dark outer component of the Earth's darkness and also this is called the penumbra.
Some problems need to be satisfied in order a partial solar eclipse to take place. The Moon needs to be complete and the Planet, Moon, and also Sunlight have to remain in an almost straight line. This will take place on Monday, August 7 and will certainly be most definitely be an extraordinary prelude to the Overall Solar Eclipse that will certainly happen on August 21.
Total Solar Eclipse
Tumblr media
The easiest way to explain an overall solar eclipse is the moment when the overall disc of the Moon totally covers the total surface or disk of the Sun. Throughout totality, or the total solar eclipse, the shadow of the moon appears like it's being appeared twilight which is extremely unusual for the people that will observe in the center of the day. The individuals will certainly have the ability to see this cloak of darkness moving in the direction of them and afterwards relocating away prior to the completeness and after it. The total solar eclipse happens just when in 18 months.
The Complete Solar Eclipse will certainly take location August 21. People from The United States and Canada will certainly have the ability to see the sunlight concealing behind the Moon. The daylight will certainly develop into twilight as well as the temperatures will drop extremely rapidly. This Great American Overall Solar Eclipse will darken the skies along a stretch of land regarding 70 miles wide. This will be an unforgettable experience for all those that decide to appreciate it.
You can read much more or see the Eclipse live on the Nasa Eclipse Website!
The day of the Overall Eclipse will bring surge of feeling and effective energy. Pets will certainly respond to it yet also humans. People ought to take advantage of this unique time. This event is of excellent relevance to everyone. It is considered to be the best time to take some significant steps in life or star a brand-new journey. The Total Solar Eclipse has an extensive impact on people's awareness, so this would be the time for spiritual method as well as mind calmness.
