✨Dinotrux headcannons✨

Dozer and George are all related in some way; they are uncles and nephews. The thing is, George was excommunicated from Dozer's heard when Dozer was very young, so he doesn't have a lot of memory of George, but he does remember him as being very kind to Dozer and teaching him how to create mounds and jackhammers.

Ty is actually older than D-structs, but not older than D-stroy. I have a small head can in that they are 4 to 9 years apart, so in my AU they are 4 years apart, and Ty would be 21 or 22 or 23.

D-structs was once kicked out of a crater by his brother, and when he found a new one, there was already a T-Trux. They nearly scrapped D-structs, but thankfully he was able to escape, so that's why he was so resistant to Ty.

Ton-Ton has nightmares often, and he often goes to Ty to comfort him. This is semi-canon because of the one episode in the earlier seasons of Ty saying, "I don't care how bad your nightmare was; I'm not talking you back in."

After the Tortools came into Dozer's life, he started to act more like a parent to everyone. Yeah, this was pure torture to the others since whenever they would put themselves in dangerous situations, they wouldn't only have the tools lecturing them but also a very angry Dozer, especially Ton-Ton.

Dozer In my human, Au runs out of coffee since he is a daycare attendant, and he often has to come in early to prepare meals and stay late cleaning up paint.

Going on with my human, Au Dozer has had a crush on everyone at least once throughout his life. He has known Tonton since he was really young, so during his teen years, he had a crush on Tonton, and he had met Skya when he was in his late teens, and he had developed a crush on her. He had denied all of his crushes, though he refused to accept them, so yeah, drama.

Dozer has never been in a relationship.

Random little ideas, snippets, scenarios, whatever you call them for N in Dinotrux.

Probably the first creature to not make bad assumptions of Ty because he was a t-trux. In fact, he could have been the one to approach Ty first because he got curious about this dinosaur thing and wanted to get a closer look.

I’m thinking one of the trux tried getting N to roar because they wanted to know what it sounds like, but murder drones don’t roar like they do. A murder drone’s roar sounds a bit like someone screaming in pain or terror, or maybe they howl, or they just don’t make those kinds of noises and just cheer or shout.

The reptools freaked him out a little because they expected to be able to climb inside him. Not only was there no way to enter without hurting him or causing him discomfort, but the thought of them crawling around inside him really made him uncomfortable. Not to mention there’d be no room for them anyways.

He can’t keep up with the trux when they’re going really fast on foot, but with his wings, he’s faster than all of them. It just makes sense to me. When they go slow or normal, N can walk or run.

N likes to pat them on the head sometimes.

N 100% tries to help Click-Clack calm down when he freaks out more than usual. One example is when Click-Clack’s panic room was broken, he took his hat off and set it down as a temporary solution until it was fixed, with it propped up by a bolt so it wouldn’t get too dark.

Being the only one with hair, some of the crew, especially the tortools, like to climb onto N’s head. And yes, he does his best to keep it clean.

I bet N would love to help out with builds, but he can’t because of the sunlight. So unless it’s really cloudy, cold, or nighttime, he sadly can’t help out and feels bad about it.

I’d love to see N helping them fight D-Structs. Especially if he looked outside and saw D-Structs attacking them, he’d go from 0 to 100 real quick.

N probably hunts down scraptors and scrapodactyls for their oil.

Ace would use his tail as a jumping rope and N would probably let her, as long as she didn’t touch it. Everyone figured out pretty quickly it was a stinger, so this was no problem.

hi heres dinotrux analysis

Dinotrux is an excellent example of a show that is episodic-leaning in nature, yet continuity-dependent. While each episode is its own contained story (even within miniature arcs), it constantly builds (har har) off of previously established events.

The builds are central to it all of course, though some are a lot more permanent features within the script. The big season one builds like the garage, ore station, and trux wash are a constant staple. Though sometimes there will be references to one-off builds too. 

Like other shows that involve forming a community and helping others out, an entourage of side characters begins to form and repeatedly shows up as an ever-increasing cast. And a lot of the time they don’t fade into the shadows completely and are referred to if they don’t appear.

BUT, something that I found fascinating was how the gathering of knowledge compounds upon itself in the show. Building techniques keep making a return in new forms as the builds rise in complexity. Battle tactics also change and adapt. Click-Clack’s move of shooting bits is used by both him and Revvit in fights later without any highlight. The listening dish is used in multiple ways. And... superchargers make a return in a big way in the second series. There are other examples of this, points that come back up like Revvit’s magnetic feet. Moves like Skya catching the Reptools with her hook keeps happening all the time.

This is a show that rewards the watcher with a feeling of satisfaction if they pay attention. Though, binging also does reveal a couple flaws...One of them being the lack of swarm enemy variety. New versions of Scrap enemies we’ve already seen is a problem with the show for instance. There is very little variety in who the show throws at our cast in order to raise the stakes. The biggest strength of the show is the Dinotrux designs, so that limited portion sticks out all the more.

In some ways there is noticeable character development. I see it the most in Click-Clack, but unfortunately the cast do tread into pitfalls where things sort of go back to a status quo. Sometimes lessons feel “unlearned” later, but this doesn’t happen enough to hamper the feeling of forward progression the show creates. Dozer becomes outwardly loving of the Tortools, but still constantly postures his tough guy act when it isn’t needed, for instance.

I think this could have been potentially solved if the characters had a few more flaws and other traits to work with. They have some depth to them, but at times they are...very predictable let’s say. One could argue though that comfort can be found in such a fact.

I really do love the show. The world is interesting, and the messages are fun. It has potential to be molded into various directions by the fans if they so choose. I can say with confidence now that it’s pretty underrated. I stumbled across it accidentally! 

I have only gotten two episodes into Supercharged. My main worry is that the power boost aspect of the show might become a cop-out at times and remove the aspect of ingenuity solving their problems, but that doesn’t seem to be the case quite yet, so we’ll see.

One final note is that it is VERY clear that the show creators had at least some engineers on speed-dial. Even though they throw random terms for parts at us at times, the designs like the bridges and such are very clearly grounded in a basis of practical knowledge. It makes me fascinated in getting a peek behind the scenes to see how they came up with the concepts and designs.

Personal opinion time: Revvit is my favorite character and I love his and Ty’s friendship, it’s very wholesome. I find Dozer’s existence as a character funny purely because Land Before Time had Cera, another yellow triceratops that picks fights. What’s with the constant three-horn and longneck rivalry? lol

I’m a bit sleepy, but this ask is really interesting, I’ll edit it with new thoughts (if they come) once I’m more awake.

When it comes to human kids - yes, thing heavily discussed, but knowing it would be lengthy bc procedures and all - few years after the marriage. Knowing their capabilities and regarding their life style as musicians, rather opting for one child. And due to becoming fathers, JO will go on a half-a-year break from music and touring, letting the dads focus on a child. Basically their child will be the spoiled one, getting love from ati and papi, from Joker uncles, from the actual family.

Ofc there would be animals as well! Cat dads agenda still strong (and TORTOOLS).

                                      Ty Rux

It was a rainy and stormy night, and Ty couldn't sleep no matter how hard he tried. He had tried everything other than going to drive since he didn't want to leave the garage unattended since everyone else was out spending time with their family, and the tools had to visit the garage, but he would only be gone for a little bit, so what could possibly happen? He drove out and started to drive around the equator, not far enough where he wasn't by the builds anymore, just far enough where he could get tired. Once he came back, he heard soft snoring coming from his place. He slowly creeped to the snoring. What he found was something he wasn't expecting: a small T-Trux who looked no older than a few months was closed into a tight ball in the back corner. He slowly drove in, making sure not to wake up the tiny T-Trux. He wondered how this tiny T-Trux sneaked into the equator or how it got past D-Structs, but now he would take it under his tread and teach it how to build and be like him.

                                      Skya

Skya and Pounder are fighting again. pounder heads scared off another pack of craneosaurs from their nesting ground. This was the second time this month. All of the eggs had either been crushed in the flea or were already hatched except for one. Once, skya had scared off a pounder. She looked at the last egg as it started to hatch. She was thinking about trying to find its pack, but she realized that it would most likely imprint on her, so she just waited forward to hatch as it slowly did. When it finally cracked, she saw a (f/c) craneosaur quietly chirping at her as it started to climb out of its eggshell and drive around Skya's legs. She went to the forward hotel, where the newly hatched craneosaurs climbed onto it, and when Skya activated her escalator belt, she had the small craneosaurs best on her head as she started driving back to the garage.

                                      Ton-Ton

Ton-Ton was driving around, jumping off of ramps like he always did whenever he didn't have to help with the build or something. Since the reptiles were already doing something, Ty Skya Dozer and the others were doing something with the tar pit, he couldn't remember what, and he didn't really care to remember. That's when he was suddenly joined by a (f/c) Ankylodump who was keeping up with him and doing the exact same tricks, headbutting him slightly whenever he would get too close. Just in general, being a small Ankylodump He let out a soft chuckle. "So cute. What is your family, little dude?" he asked as he kept driving with them. He let out a soft squeak. "Well, have we go and try to find them?" He asked as he started to slow down. They let out another squeak and nodded their heads. Ton-Ton started to drive, with the small Ankylodump following after him. He kept driving around until it got dark. The smaller Ankylodump started to slow down and short quick burst, trying to keep up with Ton-Ton, but they looked tired. He completely stopped and turned to the young Ankylodump. "Little dude, why don't you get in my bed while I keep searching?" he asked as they nodded, flipped into his bed, and started to fall asleep. Ton-Ton slept searching until he was almost attacked by a scrapadactyl. He rather quickly drove back to the garage. He was going to search for the small Ankylodumps parents in the morning, but he got attached to them and sadly ended up staying with them.

                                      Dozer

Dozer was currently spending time with Tortools, trying to make sure they didn't cause too much trouble as they drove around the crater. As they drove through the crater, they started to find scrap pieces of metal. The Tortools started to hide under Dozer, and as they kept driving, they found a freshly hatched (f/c) Dozeratop who was right by its mother's dead body. They quit chippering at the corpse, trying to wake it up. It looked afraid of everything. Dozer had the Tortools hide behind a rock as he very slowly went to the hatchling and gently picked it up with his mouth by its tail. He slowly started to drive away from the scrap piles and away from the corpse, along with the hatchling slowly driving to take the Tortools home, and then headed back to the garage himself, not knowing how he was going to explain the new child.

                                      Garby

It was a clear night, and Garby was being himself and eating rocks by the garage. When he suddenly heard a hissy noise coming from where the rocks he was eating were, he got (s/f/c) spikes shot at him in the face. They didn't hurt, and they were tiny compared to him. He looked up and saw a child Stegarbasaur hissing at him and finding its tail threateningly as if they were trying to scare off Garby as they got ready to shoot their spikes again. "Woah woah, calm down, little dude, I'm not going to hurt you," he said, receiving another face full of spikes as the small unhappy Stegarbasaur pissed again, hitting the rock away from Garby and Cafe budding it from there, trying to get as far as possible away from the older Stegarbasaur. Garby grabs the small stegarbasaur by the tail gently enough where it wouldn't hurt it but enough for it to have to stop. As he gently lifts it up, slightly muffled, he says, "Enough, come now. I said I wasn't going to hurt you. Why are you acting like this?" All he got in response was a hiss as it tried to escape his grass as they were about to throw more spikes. "Calm down when we find your parents, so you will stop throwing spikes at me," he said, sounding upset as he got another pair of spikes thrown at him. As they drove around the crater, he kept getting more and more spikes thrown at him, which he slowly got used to, but sadly, he could not find the pack you belong to, which resulted in him having a very unhappy child, Stegarbasaur.

                                      George

George was finally dragged back to the garage after finding himself in various dangerous situations. So he was currently stuck in the creator's garage, where he couldn't leave anyone's eyesight since he was constantly being scrapped, and the dino trucks were getting tired of constantly trying to find him in an in an endangered situation, so he was currently staying in the garage, when he woke up from his mid-afternoon nap, he found a small plowasaur fast asleep on his jackhammer. He was stuck in the same spot a bit longer until they woke up, and when they did, they continued to follow around George.

Tortools: Father is... evil? Father is unyielding? Father is incapable of love? We are running away. We are packing our little rucksacks and going out to explore the world as lone vagabonds. We can no longer thrive in this household.

D Structs-Yeah it’d be kinda cool but they’re also all over the place and really messy. Skrap It-True they can be a lot of responsibility but at the same time, so fulfilling. And you’d be an amazing father figure

What if D Structs and Skrap It started developing feelings for each other but scared to admit how they really feel as they’re worried it’d never work(being at Trux and scrap tool) and would ruin what they already have and they’d be left all alone again.

I've always been partial to the idea of them being in a qpr if anything. I feel like D would give you this confused look when you mention the idea of romance like he doesn't even know what that word is, and Skrap would be like a hopeless romantic who's never been in a relationship, let alone actually had legitimate feelings for anyone that way. They're both just huge disasters 😭

Dinotrux with crushes

Here are my thoughts on how Ty and the others react to having a crush and how they would act around that crush.

General: I think that if the others knew that one of the Trux had a crush they'd probably tease them non stop. More so when the crush isn't around but they will do it in front of them too- just not as obviously. They'd also be huge shippers (*Come on, tell them already!*) and supporters, being there in case it doesn't turn out well.

Ty: He's the kind that gets to know someone before developing a crush. He's friendly to everyone and that's how it starts- with friendship.

Then maybe they do something like an impressive stunt/move or do a self-less act that makes him go "whoa." From then on he is more attracted to them and trying to do more things with them. Although he sometimes comes off as awkward.

Ty is also the kind to show off. With just about anything. "Hey ____ , did you see that?" "Here comes the thunder!" "Don't worry, I got this!" He will do crazy stunts and challenges (Ton-Ton is the one that usually starts it) in order to impress them. Which doesn't always go according to plan and he gets a few more dents that Revit has to fix.

Because of his obvious crush, the others tease him relentlessly. Revit included. He's a good sport about it but tries to change the subject. Gets extremely awkward when they decide to tease him when his crush is around, complete with nervous laughter and denial.

Skya: Skya is similar to Ty in the sense that she is the sort to get to know someone before crushing. She is also the kind to play hard to get. (Nope, not interested *secretly interested*)

She will act like she doesn't care but she is always showing off for them, doing skillful but unnecessary tricks. This confuses the others as she seems to get more competitive than usual when the crush is around.

Once the others catch on that she does indeed have a crush, they tease her. Skya is more defensive, denying any accusations of having a crush and threating to introduce them to her hook. So teasing her has a definite line that the others don't want to cross.

Dozer: Dozer is in complete denial and is incredibly defensive. Although he isn't quite as moody when they are around.

He starts off indifferent to them, like they're just another friend. Then maybe they get snarky or do some inpressive dozing/fighting and Dozer finds himself liking them more. Bonus points if they have a soft spot for the Tortools.

The others don't tease him if they don't want him blowing up at them. Teasing is usually done in a hit and run type thing but they can sometimes get away with with it if they do it subtlety. The best course is to tease him when he's out of earshot.

Ton-Ton: The one who has know idea he's crushing until the others point it out. He's too busy having an awesome time with them.

He spends a lot of time hanging out and doing things with them. And of course Ton-Ton shows off his impressive stunts. He can also stumble a little over his words which the others think is hilariously adorable (Dozer just finds it hilarious). He's surprisingly considerate of the other and will do things that they are comfortable with even if they're something he doesn't normally do (like sitting still or going on a leisurely drive).

The others of course tease him but he either just doesn't care or they go over his head. Since it doesn't get much of a reaction, they pretty much gave up teasing him. Though in general, he's a good sport about it when they do.
