suddenly remembered that i saw a pretty bird today at the institute

was this one, a Turquoise-browed motmot also known as Torogoz in El Salvador and Guardabarrancos in Nicaragua, being the national bird in both countries

theyre a little rare depending where you live, my hometown is close to lots of forests so they usually appear in the edges of the town

wished to take a picture. the one i saw was so pretty. but yeah i couldn't.

TOROGOZ I LOVE YOU !!!! Okay well it's the turquoise browned mot mot but it's known as torogoz in El Salvador (it's also it's national bird ! how nice) oh but there's also the pennant winged nightjar with such lovely long feathers on its wings (almost like a kite) but then there's a nicobar pigeon. And who could forget the great tailed grackle. And the long eared owl !!! Don't make me choose man

I live with the fear of my headphones cable disconnecting in the middle of a regueton song and my parents discovering I like it. mis audifonos tienen falso asique por ratos me quito los audifonos para asegurarme que mi musica no esta sonando en los audifonos Y en los parltantes de la compu.

I... dont know? I have a hard time accepting compliments since I'm predisponed to accept them out of politeness, or ya know its just the usual "omg you're so prettyyyy" I guess the ones when people point out my smile since I've always been kinda uh self concious about it. OH and the ones where my friends tell me I'm such a handsome young man 👉🏻👈🏻

The Turquoise-Browed Motmot

A.K.A: "Torogoz" (Name from El Salvador based on the sound it makes) & “Guardabarranco” (Name from Nicaragua meaning "Ravine Guard" in Spanish)

Scientific Name: Eumomota superciliosa

Region: Far Southeast Mexico and parts of Central America

Size:  About 13" (~34cm) long, including the tail

Interesting Notes:  This beautiful bird is the national bird of both El Salvador and Nicaragua.  Both males and females grow the "racketed" tail feathers.  These are used both for courtship displays and as a "pursuit-deterrent signal" - announcing to predators that the bird has noticed them so they shouldn't bother with chasing them.
