I think it would be helpful if people realized gender affirming care isn't just for trans people. It's for whoever wants it. Plus nearly all gender affirming care was made for cis people before it was used for trans people.
Puberty blockers was literally made to help kids who started their puberty too soon. It was made to be safe and reversible.
Hrt was made for cis people originally. Cis women can use both estrogen and testosterone to help with menopause. I don't know if cis men use estrogen like cis women would, but they can use testosterone to help once they get to a certain age.
Cis women have been getting breast reductions and breast augmentation for years. Cis men get hair transplants. I mean fuck, cis men get top surgery to deal with gynecomastia. The same top surgery I'll be getting hopefully in the future.
So if cis people pretty much do the same thing as trans people do when it comes to gender affirming care, why is it bad when trans people do it?

Tiddies <3 who can resist?
.
Random fun fact: Any Nagito drawing of mine where you see Nagito’s ginger gradient coming from the top instead of the bottom is actually monster AU, as Nagito’s hair slowly changes back after Hajime manages to find a cure for his illnesses (he can’t do anything about the chronic pain and other stuff he probably has though, but he he does try his absolute best to make them as bearable as possible and probably still makes some advancements in being able to mitigate his suffering). His main target is curing the dementia, which is actually considered pretty plausible already as scientists are using stem cell transplants to try and treat it! I don’t doubt for a second that in a universe where it’s possible to give someone talent via brain surgery, it’s also possible to cure dementia. And considering the Ultimate Neurologist, whose talent was probably put into Izuru, started studying neurology because of dementia, it’s not a stretch to say Hajime definitely has that knowledge.

Hey, so I'm a cis(?) guy who really wants to go on estrogen, but i also really do not want to have breasts. Is there any way that i could get all (or most, i guess) of the other effects of estrogen without developing breasts?
Lee says:
Hi my friend! Navigating your gender identity and the decision to undergo hormone therapy can be complicated.
It's sometimes possible to start hormones if you're 100% sure that you want hormones, even if you aren't 100% sure what your gender identity is, but support from a therapist who specializes in gender identity issues can be invaluable.
They can help you explore your feelings about your gender and your body, expectations, and concerns about taking estrogen and the changes it brings, and I would really recommend looking into finding a supportive therapist.
You don't always need to be diagnosed with gender dysphoria by a mental health provider to access HRT if you see a provider who uses informed consent, and not everyone feels therapy is helpful in this area-- it really depends on whether you can find a trans-friendly, competent, and affirming therapist.
But if you don't see a therapist (And even if you do!) finding support from the trans community can be super helpful if you're questioning being trans, or considering medical transitioning.
Looking for local support groups that meet in-person or online can be a great opportunity to hear from people who have similar experiences as you do because they can provide useful insights and helpful information.
With all that said, it isn't possible to pick and choose what changes you will get when you start hormones. It's an all-or-nothing thing. If you choose to start estrogen, you may experience some breast growth. For reference, this chart lists some of the major changes that you can expect from estrogen!
You can't anticipate how much chest growth you'll get- some people have minimal growth and others develop a C cup or larger-- so if the breast growth is a deal breaker, estrogen may not be the right option for you.
There is a type of medication called SERMs which might allow you to take estrogen without breast growth, but there isn’t enough research on the effect of taking SERMs and I don’t have personal experience with it either, so I can’t provide much information on that— you’ll need to speak to a medical provider about it.
Because the effects are not fully known, I would assume that there’s a chance that even if you take them you could still have some amount of breast growth, and make your decision based on that assumption unless your provider says otherwise.
You may choose to wear a binder for the rest of your life if you get breast growth and remain unhappy with your chest, but you might be swapping one form of dysphoria for another, so you should really consider whether all of the desired changes that you'd get from estrogen are more important to you than the one big change that you don't want.
You could also start estrogen and wear a binder until your chest has stopped developing (at least ~2 years) then undergo top surgery to get a flat chest again if you are uncomfortable with the breast growth from estrogen therapy. This is a significant decision and requires thorough consultation with both your hormone prescriber and a plastic surgeon.
If you feel that having breast growth isn't worth the other changes, you could explore other things.
While estrogen can slow down the growth of new facial hair, it does not typically eliminate existing facial hair, even though facial and body hair may become lighter and grow more slowly. It also doesn't reverse hair loss that has already happened, although it can slow or prevent future hair loss.
So removing facial and body hair with laser hair removal and electrolysis, and reversing and preventing further hairline recession and balding with a hair transplant, minoxidil, and finestride might mimic some of the hair-related changes that you might see from estrogen.
Similarly, facial feminization surgery and body contouring surgery can help to mimic the body fat redistribution that you'd experience on estrogen without also creating the chest growth that you don't want to experience.
However, these surgeries are more invasive than estrogen, so if you're considering estrogen, you may want to wait until after you've been on it for a couple of years before you decide whether you still need surgery or are satisfied with the changes.
If you're confident that you don't want estrogen then you could hop straight to those surgeries, but they may or may not be covered by insurance even with a diagnosis of gender dysphoria; some policies recognize that they are medically necessary interventions and others deem them cosmetic.
As you may have guessed, the vast majority of people who were assigned male at birth and express interest in taking estrogen are not cisgender men. Many end up identifying as transgender women or non-binary people. That doesn't mean that you are trans for sure, but just considering the overall probabilities, I'd say there's a good chance that you have more to explore to figure out about your gender.
But even if you don't end up identifying as part of the community, you can still consider medical interventions even if you identify as a cisgender man. It's your body, and you should do whatever you need to do to feel comfortable in it.
It's okay to look into starting estrogen (or any other medical transitioning step) while identifying as male. Just make sure you get the support you need from your medical providers so you know all the options available to you and the risks of each choice.

Yes I could definitely search this on my own but does anybody know anything about facial hair transplants for ftm affirming surgeries??? I grow some hair but not a lot and I know that they can do hair regrowth surgeries on scalps n things so I assume there's something that can be done to help facial hair growth??? Or at home stuff I could try. I know minoxidil hasn't been approved to be used on the face but I have tried it a little, I'm not super consistent with it and ik it's more meant to bring back hair that was prev. there n I never previously could grow hair on my face. Idk !! My biggest transition goals ever since I knew I was trans was to get top surgery and have my name/gender marker changed, and now that it's over I've started to look into other things I think I'd like. Idk ! If anybody had any input, or sites I could check out I wld rlly appreciate it!!! Or if anyone just wants to DM and talk about transition stuff I would love that. Or u can send asks abt it. Whatever is cool
#i really want to connect personally with more trans ppl n kinda have like a support network#which js why im posting this instead of just googling#but ill do that too#i have very briefly looked into it but j cant afford to do much rn anyway money is tight#mine#rambles#ftm nsft#t4t nsft#queer nsft#trans nsft#ftm sub#mlm nsft#ftm punk#ftm#ftm bottom#ftm t4t#ftm ns/fw#ftm puppy#female to male#transmasc#trans man#trans ns/fw#transgender#trans#lgbtq#lgbtq community#lgbt nsft#lgbtqia#lgbt pride#top surgery

Not Like This {2} (q.h)
a/n: im sorry. i dont feel like this is my greatest. prove me wrong. please let me know if y’all want another part. i have maybe 2 more parts.
warnings: sad. sickness. possible looming death.
Enjoy!
part1 part3
“There’s not much more we can do right now. It’s a waiting game. We always knew there was a possibility this day would come Quinn.” The doctor informed Quinn that the inevitable was coming sooner rather than later. Dr. Pete had been there with the couple through this whole ordeal that started just before baby Theo was born.
A month before baby Theo was born Y/N had a cold. Or what she had thought was the cold. After a week of coughing and fatigue, her heart would start rapiding racing with a constant pain in her chest. After all the tests and scans that had been ordered Y/N had been diagnosed with a heart condition that should have cleared up weeks after the baby had been born.
But of course nothing was ever that easy in life.
“What about that transplant you mentioned last time we were here? Is that still an option?” Quinn ran his fingers through his hair. This couldn’t be happening, not yet at least.
Looking through the window of your room, he watched Y/N holding a giggling Theo on your lap, the most beautiful smile dancing around her face. Quinn hated how fast everything was coming to an end. He needed his family, Theo was going to need his mother. He had to have more time with her.
“We talked about this at the last appointment. Y/N isn’t exactly at the top of the list. If we would be able to get our hands on a viable heart, with how weak her body is there is no telling if it would even actually take.” The doctor reminded him of the meeting they had a couple of months ago.
“My heart is getting worse isn't it?” Y/N asked her boyfriend when he entered the room. Quinn had just gotten done speaking with the doctor again, about their options to slow the damage to being done to it.
“The medication is working anymore, and they don't know if your body would withstand the open heart surgery that you would need for a transplant.” Quinn wanted to hit something. He had all this anger built up inside him and he needed a release. If he was anywhere but here he would hesitate to take something out.
Y/N tried not to get worked up in her current state. Y/N weakly raised her hand to cover her cough that sounded pretty bad, but that was normal for her condition. Once the small fit was over Y/N tried speaking again.
“I just want to go home, I don’t want to be here. Please Quinn. I. I.” Y/N wheezed, breathing heavily. Quinn grabbed the baby out of its mother’s arms. Y/N was struggling. He hated watching her like this. But how are you supposed to react when you’re dying?
Looking anywhere other than at his girlfriend in bed, Quinn noticed the time was getting closer to Theo’s naptime. He grabbed a bottle to feed to the child and sat on the opposite side of the bed. He knew what she was asking. He also knew it was going to spring her from this joint. “Maybe we could visit Michigan, get the gang together one last time.”
“Babe, you need to stay here. What if a heart becomes available. What if.” Quinn looked Y/N up and down in her sweaty state. He didn’t like this. They were supposed to have more time. She was supposed to be there for his hockey career, and when Theo took his first steps on the ice. They were supposed to get married one day, have more kids, and grow old together.
“Be realistic. Someone is going to be dying and giving me their heart anytime soon. Quinny I’m going to be the one dying” Y/N cut him off, her breathing even more ragged as she was still pretty worked up. Her chest heaving up and down at a rapid pace, trying to calm herself down.
“Hey, hey, hey. Breathe.” Quinn held Theo in one arm and ran his other hand up and down Y/N’s back trying to soothe her with another coughing fit over taking her. This time a pink colored flem made its way up.
“I don’t want to die here. Quinny please.” Her voice was so quiet he almost didn’t hear her as the tears streamed down her face. He wasn’t the one with a heart disease, but watching the one he loved the most breakdown broke his heart.
Any treatment they tried now was most likely not going to work and maybe it was best if they just went home. With it being the middle of the hockey season, Quinn was positive that he couldn’t get all their friends to Vancouver much less Michigan. It would be an impossible feat. But for you he would do everything in his power to get you what you wanted.
“Alright, Babe. I’m going to go talk to someone about getting you released.” Quinn got off the bed and walked over you. He kissed the top of your sweaty forehead. “I don’t think it’s the best to travel right now but maybe they can come here. I’ll make some calls to my family and your brother. Maybe some of the guys can come out.”
please let me know what y’all think. i’d love to hear any thoughts, comments, or complaints.
