The Nanny Conundrum~A Tommy Shelby Smut
Tumblr media
Pairing: Tommy Shelby x Nanny!Reader (3rd person)
Warnings: Male masterbation, voyeurism. Meant to be kind of funny. A little cringe and embarrassing.
Prompt 93
Word Count: 2,791
Summary: Tommy Shelby just got a new nanny for Charlie. She's a sweet, delicate girl, but learns quite a thing or two about men while hiding for a game of hide n seek.
Please enjoy. I appreciate reblogs and comments. Likes are kind and thoughtful, and I appreciate you reading my work. However, reblogs really help writers out. So, please, considering rebloging.
Tumblr media
Tommy was only delicate and proper with a select few people, and she was one of them, but he couldn’t help himself. Not even Satan himself could give her a rough handling. She was delicate looking, sounding, and acting. Like a daisy, really. And on top of it, she was so, so good with Charlie. Just two years old, losing his mother a few short months before. He was hesitant at first, not wanting to go through a whole hiring process. And so, he convinced Mary and Francis to take on the extra duty. Though, two aging women, their patience was waning. Enough was enough, Mr. Shelby was getting a nanny for the poor boy.
It was difficult for Mr. Shelby to find employees as many were aware of his antics. There were a few applicants…none did anything for him. They were old. Had no energy with a sharp tongue. Mr. Shelby didn’t want anyone with a sharp tongue. Then there was a quiet time with weeks in between; no applicants had walked through the door.
Until one day, someone did. It was a Sunday, too. Which got a work motivated man like himself excited. Mary had knocked on the door and he grumbled for her to enter. Behind her was a girl, not too tall and with a young face. He couldn’t make out her age, but her cheeks were round and blushed with youth. He noticed how when she smiled, her eyes would as well and she’d let out this delicate laugh.
It was right then that he knew. Unlike the others, he immediately slid back his chair and stood, straightening his blue white lined vest. Mary was surprised at the soft smile that tugged at his usually stiff lips. His stress lines seemed to ease, but most of all he turned gentle. Mary watched aghast how he waltzed around his mahogany desk and rushed over to her. Never had he ever shook a woman’s hand as such; both hands gently holding her right. “I’m Mr. Shelby,” he said, and Mary couldn’t take anymore. She gave her employer a pursed look, brow raised, and he mouthed what.
“I will take my leave, Mr. Shelby,” she said. “I must go to the kitchens and yell at the staff.” The young girl frowned a bit and turned to watch the woman leave.
“Is she alright?” she asked, turning her attention back to the man who was still holding her hand.
He was quick to nod and offer a smile. “Yes, yes! She’s fine. Don’t worry about her, eh? I think all women get a certain edge to them when they hit about seventy-”
“And men,” she giggled, putting a finger out.
Kindly, he chuckled back. “I think we develop that a bit younger. Anyway! Come! Take a seat, eh?” He walked her over to the desk, hand resting politely on her mid-back. “So, are you looking for a nanny position?” They sat across from one another and she handed over CV paperclipped together. His eyes quickly scanned it, grinning. “Nanny program in London, worked for the same family for 2 years, twenty years old, born in Boston to English parents, and the second oldest of six children.” He put it down and pushed it over to her. “You understand this is a live in position, love?” Love. A red rosy tint fell on her face and she had to look away shyly. She could not lie. Of course, Mr. Shelby was a handsome man smooth with his words. “You’d be here Monday to Sunday. Of course, you will have free time and vacation time. Sundays off.”
“The pay?” she asked. “A family in London has offered me six pounds.”
Six bloody fuckin’ pounds, Mr. Shelby thought to himself, a bit stunted. But nonetheless, he said, “I can offer ten, plus you’ll have a room, food, and free roam of the property. I’ll allow leave for all holidays, Sunday’s off, and early leave on Wednesdays. You’ll be allowed three sick days a calendar year-”
“I can start today,” she said, abruptly, far too eager to work for him. The benefits were like nothing she’d even been offered. He paused, smile dropping a bit, not used to people being so…interested. She coughed a bit and fixed herself in the chair. “Sorry,” she said, clearing her throat. “I can start today. If you would have me, of course.”
He nodded, “not today. Tomorrow. You’ll start tomorrow.”
Everyone liked her. She was like a breath of fresh air. A positive influence on everyone. Francis and Mary seemed more at ease and talked with less grouch. The kitchen danced when she waltzed in. The other maids enjoyed how she was incredibly courteous of the messes Charlie would make. Even John and Arthur started to look forward to coming to Arrow house. Despite their miserable to be around brother who did nothing, but demand this and that from them.
And Mr. Shelby, well...he found himself smiling a tad more when he saw her with Charlie.
She was a wonderful nanny. On top of the normal tasks, she actually played with Charlie and helped with his coloring and motor tasks. She’d sing to him and dance with him. And unlike most girls her age, she wasn’t opposed to rolling around in the grass with him. They’d sleep in the grass and dance in the rain with their shoes off. Charlie was in love with her! Mr. Shelby would watch from the window, feeling this pool of warmth within him when they’d run around in circles.
“Ah, look at her,” Francis sighed, putting the tea tray on his desk. “Her frocks are always stained with grass.”
Mr. Shelby flicked closed the blinds and sat at his desk, making up his tea with just a tad of sugar and milk. He enjoyed some honey as well those days. “It’ll rain soon, suppose they’ll come inside. She’s been reading to him a lot.”
Francis smiled. “Very good. Will you be heading to the stables? Should I prepare-”
“No, no,” he said. “I’m just going to enjoy my cuppa, eh? And you should take a rest.” A rest. That was also something new. Mr. Shelby was allowing staff to have much more rest since she came.
He finished his tea and went off to the stables when the two were coming in from their adventures from outside. After clean up time and a book, Charlie was still restless, wanting to run around and play. She pouted and poked his nose, “Charlie, I got a game for you!” His eyes widened and he giggled in excitement. She leaned in as if it was something special. “HIde n’ seek! I will hide. Okay? Has Charlie remembered his numbers?”
“One…two..three..eight…four…six…nine…five,” he counted off and she chuckled, telling him it was just fine enough. She picked him up and placed him facing the wall, explaining that he had to count to ten slowly and not move.
“I will hide somewhere, Charlie, on the first floor, okay?” she smiled, ruffling his hair before skipping out. She giggled as she heard his cute counting before opening and closing each door, unsure of where to hide before he stopped counting. She slipped into Mr. Shelby’s office, not seeing the harm when he wasn’t around. Under the desk, she crammed herself in a ball and waited.
She heard Charlie call for her in a laugh, running around the hallway. She could tell that he checked the bathroom first then her room before going back to his room. She waited and waited before the office door opened, and she grinned, getting ready to say you win! When Mr. Shelby coughed. Wincing, she wondered if she should climb out and explain that they were playing hide and seek or wait for him to leave, but to her annoyance, he took a seat at his desk. At first, he fumbled around with some papers before cursing under his breath, seeming frustrated. She was sucking in her lips to hold back any loud breathing. But what he did next was…shocking. There were no other words to explain it. Shocking. To her, at least. A young twenty year old girl who surprisingly lived a very modest and conservative life. Never had she even held hands with a boy, nevermind witness what she was about to witness. His hands went to his belt clasp and fumbled with the golden hoop before easily undoing his trousers. Peeking out was a pair of men’s white underwear. Maybe he’s just getting comfortable, she told herself, but was quickly proven wrong when he let out a soft groan and slipped under the waistband of his underwear. She watched, frozen. He rubbed himself a bit under his underwear, grinding his hips up at his hand. Soft groans and eager curses filled the room in a hushed manner. As if he was ashamed of doing such a thing in his own home. It was all new to her, and she watched equally horrified and curious while kicking herself for being so stupid. A million hiding spots and she chose the very one he had to wank in. Peculiarly, a small wet spot formed where the tip was. Stupidly, she wanted to just reach up and touch it, but the thought lodged to the back of her head when he pulled it out. There was nothing she could compare it to, being the first cock she’d ever seen. But her cunt ached in an almost fear-like response seeing the shape and length. The tip was glistening with a sticky substance that he didn’t hesitate rubbing his thumb against. “Fuck,” he let out, leaning back slightly. Between his thumb and index, he rubbed it before giving his cock three good tugs. How it dripped out in a long string before pooling a little tiny dot onto the floor next to her. Swallowing, she looked down at it…just a little dab. A droplet. For a split second, she considered touching it. Mimicking how he rolled it between his fingers just to see what it felt like. But she couldn’t do it. It felt grotesque…dirty. Sinister? That’s when she heard him spit on his hand, drawing her attention from the precum and back to his twitching cock. His spit ran down the shaft, wetting the chair.
“Oh, fuck,” he grunted, his hand wrapping around himself, twisting around. He moved slowly up and down, teasing the sensation. It’d been such a long time since he last rubbed one out. Though loving a good fuck, self pleasure was never something he needed to ease an urge. But he felt it that day. His cock consistently throbbed at the seams of his trousers. Not even a smoke and a drink calmed him. And so, he resorted to a good old school wank. Admittedly, it was quite nice. Alone in his element, just feeling himself. “Shit.” His started to roll upward, fucking his hand.
Alone…except for the sweet nanny under his desk, trapped in quite a predicament she wasn’t quite sure she liked. His hand started to move a bit faster with a better rhythm. He was flowing a stream of grunts, curses, groans, moans, and inaudible sentences. “Baby,” he cried, head rolled back, eyes closed. “Fuck me, c’mon-shit!” He hummed, running a hand over his face. She swallowed and panicked that maybe he knew she was there. Did he? Who was he talking to? But she didn’t move. She hardly even breathed scared he’d hear her. “Mmmmhm.” Pausing, he spit on his hand again before rubbing it all over. Just as he resumed his speed, he said something she could hardly believe. Her name. Followed by a, “just like that…good fuckin’ girl.” In shock, her eyes widened and her hands instantly covered her mouth. “Bounce up and down, right on my cock. Ride my fuckin’ cock!” His breaths became jagged while his hips twitched and jolted. He was close…so fucking close.
Meanwhile, the poor girl tried to block it out. But how could she? So close to a man jerking his cock, calling her name. Her fucking name? Imagining her bouncing on it. She couldn’t help, but wonder if this was his first time thinking of her like this. She hated to admit it, but her thighs were struggling to stay still. So, so tempted to rub them together to ease a surprise heat growing between her legs. “That’s good, baby, keep doing that….Ugh! Fuck!” He paused, edging himself. She noticed when he stopped, his hands clenched around it harder, shaking. Then he slowly went back to tugging and rubbing, easing back into the lost rhythm. “I bet you are so fuckin’ tight.” One hand slowly went between her legs to cup her aching pussy as she suppressed a whine. “Fuck, I want to corrupt that little fuckin’ cunt….Make you into a dirty little fuckin’ slut. My dirty slut…fuck!” He jolted upward, other hand gripping a chair arm before easing back into speed.
Make you into a dirty little fuckin’ slut. My dirty slut. Those words imprinted themselves in her head. His words were disgusting, filthy, and humiliating, but so fucking erotic. His possessiveness was like honey. It took so much effort to not ease her curiosities and reach her hand up to touch his cock. So, she had to just watch. Watching was so hot, but so torturous. When he started to get sloppy with his movements, she prepared for him to stop again, but he didn’t. “F-fuck!” He cried out, tugging one last time before a stream of white came from his cock. She was expecting it to be like the sticky clear mess, but no, his cum shot.
In fact, it shot at her…on her face. Frozen, feeling the warmth that landed over her eyelids and dripped down her face and over her lips. Appalled and embarrassed, how was she going to face him after that? With his excrement painting her face. He let out one last, “fuck,” before tiredly tucking himself away and buckling his belt. He took the handkerchief from his pocket and wiped his hands. Sliding back in his chair and standing, she was sure that he was going to leave, but no. He kneeled down to clean up wherever the cum landed, coming face to face with her…wearing it.
Never had he ever been so mortified, looking at the girl who seemed as if she saw death. His cum was right there…teasing at her lips. His nanny….Had she watched the whole thing? Heard every word? Of course. She had to. He swallowed, and said, “Um…this isn’t a great napping spot-”
“Mr. Shelby,” she stuttered out, tongue darting out almost instinctively, accidentally swiping the cum off. She winced as it tasted salty. His eyes flickered down to her quivering lips, widening. There was a bit of silence before she continued. “I was playing hide n seek-”
“In my office?” he asked, not exactly mad. More stunned and quiet than anything. He felt as if he was a young man again, ashamed of rubbing one out.
“I’m competitive. I didn’t think he’d look in here,” she responded with the same tone. He nodded slowly, reaching out to clean her face, but she took the rag and did it herself before going to hand it back.
“Keep it,” he said, slowly standing and grabbing for his whiskey. He didn’t even bother pouring it in a glass as he swigged it from the bottle. She crawled out from under the desk watching him gulp it like water. “Fuckin’ ‘ell,” he cursed, putting it down and turning to her. “Did you-”
“Yes,” she said before he could finish the quest. Nervously, she averted her attention off to the side, playing with her dress. His eyes skimmed over her, heart rate through the roof. His head was swarming with a whole bunch of conflictions. “Should I pack my things?” Mr. Shelby licked at his bottom lip and itched the arch of his nose. “Um…well, I think it is alright. You’re not the first woman to look at it. Probably not the last unless I drop dead right now…which is fuckin’ possible.” She bowed and tried to slowly back away when he looked over at her. “C’mere. I’m not done with you. As much as I’d like to jump out this fuckin’ window, you’re still my employee and you were in my office without permission. Why don’t you take a seat-no, no. Right here.” She nervously looked at where his hand was pointing. It was the desk. “C’mere,” he patted. “Sit on the desk like a good girl.” The words played back in her head and she did so…like a fuckin’ good girl.

Valya Vednesday #7
Here are all of the glyphs in the Valya font so far!
Tumblr media
... All 255 of them. Again, so far—my current estimate for the final number is 625ish. The actual number will depend on how impatient I get as this project continues.
As you can see, there are many similarities among the letters, especially ones near each other in this list. That’s because after the first 52, the rest are all ligatures of pairs from that first group. Those first ones are simple CV syllables like li, ru, and ga. The others are mostly syllables with onset clusters, like lyi, kru, and dgha, which might be formed as li-i, ki-ru, and di-ga respectively. If two syllabograms are combined, you know not to pronounce the vowel of the first one, or that the first one’s vowel should become a glide (i → y, u → w).
For the most part, it’s pretty easy to tell which two glyphs have combined to make a new one, as long as you know the basic set well enough. This makes the writing system not quite so complicated as it might seem at first, though there are lots of complications, even so.
For example, you have to just know that combining the glyphs for zu and i makes swi, not zwi, and that combining su and i makes hwi instead. And that’s not to mention that combining hu and i also makes hwi, and you have to know which of the two to use when writing the verb hwi “to sing” (it’s su-i, by the way).
While some syllables have only a single way to write them, there are others that have up to six different possibilities! Hla could be written as any one of the ligatures li-ha, si-la, lu-ha, fu-la, su-la, or hu-la. Native speakers would know what you meant if you wrote the wrong one, but it sure would be embarrassing for you!
Those six ligatures, by the way, are shown here in order, each preceded by its components as separate letters:
Tumblr media
There are some stylistic variants, too, which vary from region to region or from writer to writer. The simple syllable glyph for ga has versions with and without a top bar, and some ligatures can combine in different ways. Below are the two versions of ga followed by lva (li-va), lgnga (li-nga), and rgnga (ri-nga, which could also be written as ru-nga in different contexts):
Tumblr media
To finish things off for this week, here are some of my favorite glyphs I’ve made in the last few days. They are, as @tsibele so eloquently put it, a bunch of inchworms on their way to the conference.

This selection covers Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and the entire UAE, ensuring that job seekers have access to reputable professionals who understand the nuances of the region’s job market and can craft standout CVs tailored to individual strengths and industry demands.
Who We Are
As an independent freelance researchers and writers, we strive to provide objective, well-researched content that helps job seekers navigate the complex landscape of career services in the UAE. We are not affiliated with any of the CV writers featured in our list, nor do we receive any compensation or partnership benefits from these professionals. Our sole focus is to deliver reliable, impartial information that empowers individuals to make informed decisions when choosing CV writing services.
Our Selection Process for the Best CV Writers in the UAE
The process of selecting the top CV writers is one we take seriously, as we know how crucial a well-crafted CV is for career success, especially in a competitive market like the UAE. Our approach combines both qualitative and quantitative research, allowing us to evaluate each CV writing service on a wide range of criteria to ensure our recommendations meet high standards of quality, professionalism, and customer satisfaction. Here’s how we approached this analysis:
1. Comprehensive Market Research
Industry Analysis: We begin by conducting an extensive review of the CV writing industry in the UAE, examining market trends, customer demands, and the prevalent standards of quality. This gives us insight into the range of services available, from entry-level CVs to executive CV writing.
Service Offerings: We also look into the specific services each CV writer provides, such as LinkedIn optimization, cover letter writing, or interview coaching, ensuring that we recommend writers who cover a broad spectrum of career support.
2. Client Feedback and Testimonials
Real Reviews: We analyze verified reviews on trusted platforms, social media, and company websites, focusing on patterns in customer satisfaction, areas of expertise, and common feedback themes. This helps us gauge each writer's consistency in delivering results and providing a positive client experience.
Detailed Case Studies: When possible, we review specific cases or success stories that illustrate how these CV writers helped clients overcome employment challenges, secure interviews, or achieve career transitions.
3. Qualifications and Experience
Credentials: We consider the credentials of each CV writer, including any certifications in career services or professional affiliations with recognized bodies like the Professional Association of Resume Writers & Career Coaches (PARWCC) or the Career Development Network.
Experience Level: A writer’s experience in the field is also essential. We favor writers with a proven track record in creating CVs across various industries and roles, with a focus on understanding the UAE job market.
4. Sample Reviews and Writing Quality
Quality Check: Our team reviews writing samples, if available, to assess the quality of content, formatting, and overall impact of the CVs. We look for clear, compelling language, ATS-friendly formatting, and a strong focus on highlighting relevant skills and achievements.
Customization and Personalization: We prioritize writers who emphasize tailored approaches, crafting CVs that reflect the unique strengths and aspirations of each client.
5. Transparency and Pricing
Pricing Structure: Transparent pricing is a priority, as it reflects the level of professionalism and commitment to client trust. We ensure that all shortlisted writers have clear, upfront pricing without hidden fees.
Value for Money: We also assess the value for money, ensuring that the service quality aligns with the price, whether the CV is intended for entry-level or executive roles.
6. Customer Support and Responsiveness
Availability and Communication: Strong customer support is vital for any service, especially in the personalized field of CV writing. We value writers who offer responsive communication, are open to client feedback, and are willing to make necessary revisions.

RIP General Grievous, you would have loved Order 66 lol
No, but for real. “Grievous survives” fic writers, you’re awesome.
Don't deny that he has committed atrocities upon the galaxy that will take generations to even begin to heal & in numbers unheard of in recent history. Grievous did not care. His job was to inconvenience the Republic for as long as possible & to kill Jedi. And holy shit did he ever. Maybe he considered himself already dead & this dumbass war was just a really fucked up bonus level. (& brother, I’m zerg rushing it)
Grievous was operating on the bastardized values of his people kept together by rage & steel, stuck in Sith 1 & Sith 2’s fucked up mind games. He hated the Separatists. Unfortunately for the rest of the galaxy, he hated the Republic more. Maybe he oscillates wildly between the thrill of battle & befuddled emptiness, making him a contrary bitch that no one bothers trying to deal with.
But lord help Palpatine if General Grievous ever figured out that he & Sidious were one & the same. The sheer amount of indignant rage would be like a lens of clarity he hadn’t managed since becoming a cyborg. This?? Single human man? Broke apart the galaxy so he could be the one to fix it? The known universe will remember me only in cold blooded fear. I was stripped of my culture, my agency, my FLESH so that this LITTLE OLD COLONY WIZARD can sit in his big boy chair???
Mr. Psycho Martyr? His petty ass would tell everybody. He would make his superiors’ lives a living hell. If they didn’t immediately push the Cyborg Emergency Kill Button (canon), how do you stop this pissed off war machine that YOU made to be unstoppable & YOU taught how to use unstoppable laser swords? As far as the Separatist resources, he knows nearly EVERYTHING. You can’t send shit after him that he doesn’t already know how to take apart, rewire, counter, & give back to you with a rude note on it.
And goddamn, if you thought Kalee hated the Republic? Just wait until it becomes the Empire & stops even trying to hide being tyrannical (hehe tyrannous). Grievous spent his entire life fighting oppression much more advanced than him & fucking winning. That’s why his resume was at the top of Palpatine’s murder machine CV pile. This bitch excels at adaptive guerilla warfare & he will use every last wheezing breath to fuck up your shit. Even if he has to work with Jedi to do it.
In conclusion, an enlightened General Grievous would gladly die for a chance to punch Palpatine in the face & this is why he would be an immense asset to the rebel alliance. He’d be an insufferable asshole but that is the cost you pay for him having to be right all the time.

On how Hino had two problems when making a new Layton game so he made the two problems cancel each other out and that’s how we got NWOS
It’s so brilliant I’m upset I didn’t think of it first. Not that I work for Level-5 but I always love a good meta theory. Then again, I never imagined we could even get a new Layton game, like, ever. We had no puzzle master, Level-5 in dubious economic state and again, even though they are tiny when compared to the others, these two plot-meta problems.
The first problem is the one which got us the prequel trilogy.
So Level-5 had made great story-driven puzzle game trilogy! And to end it, the writer (Hino) decides to give us the bittersweet ending ever. Our beloved duo is separated! Oh no! But worry not, because the adventures continues. Eventually, Luke writes from America. The duo will be together once again, surely someday.
Here L-5 pauses to breathe.
Now, Layton has sold really well. The world needs more Layton games. So they think, how do we continue the story? What would Layton going to America even look like? Because Layton will go to America, surely, that’s the kind of friendship Layton and Luke have, of course. Hm... Speaking of which, we’ve never actually explained how that friendship started. That’s interesting, maybe we could do something with that.
Hence: prequel trilogy!
The second problem is the one that got us Katrielle Layton.
By the end of the prequel trilogy, Professor Layton is famous, both in and out-universe. In the Azran Legacy, our beloved characters save the whole freaking world! Suddenly Luke being all “Seriously? An inheritance dispute?” at the beginning of CV takes a whole other level of meaning. Well, it was only fair that they went all out in AL: it was promised to be the final adventure of Professor Layton.
So, even if they were to continue the Layton series, they couldn’t just get Professor Layton, solver of puzzles, savior of worlds and put him in situations. I mean, they could, but they had just promised us that AL was the last adventure, and we cried about it, so it would feel cheap to bring him back soon for a simple mystery. (This later changed as the years passed and there was, effectively, no more Professor Layton).
So! We have a Layton series with no more Professor Layton available. There’s also this mobile game we slapped the Layton brand on that only five nerds have heard about and only three of them played. No one was buying Mystery Room. (Again, this later changed as the years passed and there was, effectively, no more Professor Layton) (I love you Alfendi).
The solution they had was to create a fresh new protagonist, someone who was more similar to the professor (sorry, Al) but had to start from the ground up when talking about solving mysteries.
Hence: Katrielle Layton! (I love you Kat, you deserved better).
So, the conclusion is, if we were going to make a new Professor Layton game, specifically about the cliffhanger ten years ago, we’d have to:
Figure out how America would be different from the usual Professor Layton settings, in familiar England where he moves with ease.
Nerf Layton so that he is not the almighty famous puzzle solver that could clear any mystery in minutes.
AND THE PREMISE OF NWOS SOLVES THOSE TWO PROBLEMS:
The American setting is different from the England one because no one there knows Professsor Layton, just Luke!! He will have to prove himself from zero because it’s an absolutely new setting!! If it is just “Luke and the random guy in a top hat”, you don’t need him to save the world, you just need the story to prove that he not only is “random guy in a top hat”, but that he is Professor Layton.
The two problems solve each other AND I THINK THAT’S BEAUTIFUL!

how did you get that kind of job without a university marketing degree or whatever? i'm kinda struggling here :(((((
it was a (relatively) long process of trial and error and a lot of freelance work/not having a stable income but basically to break it down. a few yrs ago i went to careers advice and asked how to maximise my future prospects or whatever and the first thing they said was add ALLL of ur skills onto your resume even if youve never used them in a job role before. if you're proficient in (or capable of learning) excel, photoshop, adobe creative suite, wordpress, social media, copywriting, seo software....even if youve never used it in a professional capacity its rly good to kind of emphasize ur digital skill set as much as possible and start researching it as much as possible too. then i started a wordpress blog and would write copywriting articles on there (or in google docs) even though i had no one to send them to lol just to build a portfolio that i could send out to freelance content and copy writer agencies who were hiring. there's tons of tips and articles and pdfs online that can help you write great articles and help u learn content design. anyway i did this for a longgggg time and finally got some actual freelance work coming in. from this, i started interviewing for actual full time copywriting jobs, and was hired to intern at a digital agency at the end of 2021. did that for months then went back to freelance but was able to get more projects with my slowly growing experience. while doing freelance i was interviewing for a shit ton of full time copywriting and content management roles, most of which i got rejected from after like the 1st interview. finally i heard back from a team i had interviewed for and they had me give a presentation outlining my approach to copywriting/media managemenet and from that they've hired me and ive been really really lucky that they have. unfortunately that's what i think it was more than anything, like a stroke of luck that they saw smth in me and took me on despite me unconventional background. im rly rly grateful to them for it. i would also encourage you to look for literally any volunteer opportunities in admin, soc media, bookkeeping - it looks rly good on the resume and can sometimes expand into a job. also look up general cv tips cause there's a ton of cheatsheets out there that can help you get yours to the top of the pile or near the top. good luck and im really sorry you're struggling atm!! ive absolutely been there and it's honestly so discouraging, the amt of times i quit job hunting while doing freelance out of sheer despair was a lot. it's hard but there are ways to show what you have to offer in a really favourable light, and the more you interview/resume edit/write the better you will get. it's all one horrible big skill at least that's how it felt to me, and i still suck at it. just clawing my way up TBH. anyway sending you a lot of love ❤️ hope you catch the break u deserve soon. X

My GOD Red, you are like a top-tier Museum Curator of Fanfiction <3<3<3 Those fic rec lists you make are the greatest things ever :):):):) (I just bookmarked a whole bunch of Cowboy!Jake ones from the list you made :) - I Bookmark instead of 'Marking for Later' because if I mark them for later I will, ironically, forget about them :P whereas the Bookmarks are right there on the dashboard on your profile)
anyway, YOU ARE AMAZING I LOVE YOU HOW DO YOU HAVE THE TIME TO FIND/READ ALL THESE???
HEY!!! 🤗
"Top-Tier Museum Curator of Fanfiction"
OMG. Do you think I can write that down on my CV?! This is the best achievement ever. Who cares about diplomas and previous work experiences?
THIS. This is the best thing EVER!!! =D
Thank you for telling me this. <3
I'm glad you find them useful, and more importantly, that you find fics to add to your reading list. There are SO many wonderful content out there. I'm humbly trying to offer another way of finding and consuming the goodies. I've used so many recs lists for previous fandoms... So I'm more than happy to do it for the TG/M fandom (or like for the Hangster ship in particular...although I have plans to extend my work to several other ships as well).
Whatever works for you!! As long as you can find the stories easily, it's not important how you organise your library! :D (I'm going all in: open tabs, marked for later, word document, bookmarks, phone notes.... xD)
GOOD JESUS. No way. I don't have time to read all the recs before actually reccing them. No way, nope.... You know I still have some marked for later fics that were published at the very beginning of the Hangster fandom? And people keep creating content, so it's hard to keep track of my to-read sometimes.... (By that I mean, keep writing wonderful writers, KEEP WRITING! <3)
Now, I DO spend a lot of time finding and organising fics. Like A LOT of time...👀 I rarely read the fics for pleasure when I'm in 'reccing' mode. Instead, I'm using my super awesome research tricks in order to create a helpful (at least, I hope it is) repository of TG stories. (It's often way too elaborate the way I do it, but whatever, I have no chills whatsoever.)
You're a sweetheart for sending me this ask, I appreciate. <3
Love you too & enjoooooy the goodies! :D
🐈💕

You can find the Masterrecslist HERE.
(I'm also in the process of reorganising the post for better navigation, so expect a big update at some point in the future.)
