Within ten, she has relocated to land outside the city, a housing estate that was initially abandoned when the construction company ran out of money. Taking it over she finishes construction and turns it into a town for her employees.
 2.      After Rip lost his wife, he took time off work to raise Jonas. Now his son is due to attend school, he decides to go back to work. The recruitment agency he signs up with gets him an interview with Ryder Tech and he is ecstatic mostly. The only problem is he would have to relocate from London.
 3.      Rip has been following Gideon Ryder’s career since he and Miranda saw her at a technology conference many years before and knows he’d not be able to be articulate enough to get through the interview. Ray Palmer is the interviewer, much to Rip’s relief and Rip easily gets the job.
 4.      Arriving at the Ryder Tech employee housing Rip is stunned by how nice it is, with plenty of grassy areas and play parks. Their house is fantastic, and Jonas is happy to find out their new home has stairs inside, after living in a flat since he was two years old.
 5.      Gideon is looking forward to meeting her new engineering team lead, after reading his qualifications and seeing the work he’s already done. On his first day she arranges a meeting, bemused by how little he says and how he is mostly monosyllabic whenever she speaks to him. She worries why he has taken the job, considering the high possibility of corporate espionage.
 6.      Rip hates that every time he meets up with his boss that he can barely talk to her because he knows he’ll probably make an idiot of himself. He manages not to make a complete fool of himself, but knows it isn’t the best way to work.
 7.      Gideon organises a staff barbecue for the beginning of the summer holidays. When she spots Rip, she is determined to watch and see how he acts amongst the rest of the staff. She’s confused to see how well he gets along with everyone else, then sees his son and how good a father he is to the little boy.
 8.      As the end of the barbecue draws in, Gideon pitches in to help and finds Jonas at her side. Instantly in love with the little boy, Gideon wonders why his father doesn’t like her. When Rip comes to get Jonas, Gideon starts talking to him while he’s distracted by cleaning the chocolate Gideon snuck the little boy off Jonas’ face. Since he talks normally to her Gideon finally decides to just ask him straight out why he doesn’t like her.
 9.      Rip confesses how much of a fan of her work he is and was always convinced he’d say something stupid or accidentally insult her. Gideon blushes and simply tells him she doesn’t mind.
 10.  Jonas sees how much his dad is smiling while talking to Gideon and manages to get Rip to ask her to come to dinner one night. Less than a year later, Rip, Gideon and Jonas are attending the barbecue as a family.
