Happy FACE era and happy Jikook days to all!

I promise I'll write a few in depth reflections on the latest Jikook interactions and also will address 편지 in another post but I just wanted to get a few things off my chest so I wanted to post this first. (Sorry, this post will mostly include my reflections and no profound analysis so if you're not interested in my ramblings, you can skip this one)

I guess I'll start off by this: I did make the conscious decision to lay off the petiness a few months ago though I can't help but think these few days (even weeks) happened for the sake of all the hateful trolls who have been making rounds even on here revelling in the fact both Jimin and Jungkook were mostly off-grid and Kook spotted having a social life, which somehow automatically discounted any possibility of him keeping in touch with/seeing anyone else for some reason.... but anyways... for the sake of keeping my karma clean let's move on.

Being an ARMY with a special fondness for 3J and Jikook I have to say my life is pretty easy, I just lay back and enjoy as their appearances happen and let things unfold without having to get angry or hateful. Mostly because my love for them doesn't hinge upon a never-ending need for validation for what has been a constant for the past 10+ years. And I hope by communicating and trying to explain more closely to you how especially Jimin and Jungkook interact, trying to help you bridge the language gap, I really hope you feel this sense of calmness as well. There is never anything to question, to fuss or argue about. (Not to stray too much off topic, but rest assured I deeply value and appreciate each and one of your replies and messages, despite the fact I am notoriously bad at replying to them 🫣)

Watching Jimin and Jungkook interact always feels like home, like you have been granted an insight into a familiar scene, with people that are so close they can't help but joke around or poke at each other yet at the same time can't hold back on their appreciation and softness for each other. (If you need a visual representation just take any moment Jimin talks about/with Jungkook and automatically gets all giggly and soft and Jungkook's last live where you could see the little goofball laughing at ex. the teasing scenes but at the same time couldn't hold back his starry eyed expression 🥹)

I have to admit though, I myself got proven wrong when I confidently posted about how they are both missing ARMY based on the Weverse interactions and then proceeded watching Jungkook turn on a live barely interacting with the comments (even remarking on the fact he isn't checking them yet people keep writing lol) just to watch over 1hr of Jimin content and admit to have been staying on top of all his promo releases...To then read Jimin's reply in which he left no room for debate. 국민 정말 미안해ㅠㅠㅠ

So what have we learned over the past few days?

Jimin and Jungkook are fine, in fact better than fine, and not seeing them in public proves absolutely jack sh*t (reverting back to a bit of my pettiness here)

Jungkook was involved with the album more than we could have ever imagined. (can't wait to talk more about 편지, I have to say not many songs have ever touched me as much as this one, for various reasons...)

Jungkook visited Jimin's rehearsal (and was really interested in watching him record for a music show too 🥺) and was also for that reason so confidently announcing that something "amazing beyond words" was coming before the teaser for Set me free pt. 2 dropped

As expected Jimin's latest schedules are recording/company-home-eat-sleep and repeat so he has barely any time left and Jungkook misses him a lot :(

Jungkook is as supportive and admiring of his hyung as ever- his words not mine (still a huge Serendipity stan though 🤭)

And once again highlighting: their communication feels very warm, friendly and familiar, there is no sign of them not knowing about each other or being distant

This was all I just had to write down before my head started spinning, I will be back with more of my nerdy language analysis posts, thanks for reading if you decided to! 😊

favorite louis outfit: you can't ask me this question he served so many iconic brillant outfits especially in the fitf era but if i really have to choose one nothing will ever match this outfit. And THE POSE! I think this is my favorite outfit of all time on anyone not just Louis. Obsessed!

favorite tour show: ltwt Austin, fitfwt Woodlands, fitfwt NY, fitfwt London ( i know these are a lot of shows but i love them all so much ok 😭) and if we can count afhf then the first afhf will always be THE Louis show for me, just iconic

favorite public appearance: aotv Japan premiere and RS UK awards red carpet (he's so charming i melt everytime 😭)

favorite AOTV scene: That yacht scene when all this time started playing and the final scene at the Milan show 🤧. Cinema at its finest tbh

favorite band or crew member: i don't really have one. I just like when they're professional and do their jobs but also treat my baby like he deserves so i like Matt D, Steve and Zak from the band. And from the crew: Joshua, Krystle and Joni

Hey but jk did say his music is gonna come out after yoongi...and seeing how the company is literally rushing everything it was expected. Jimin did not even got time to promote his music for more than a mere 2 weeks, yoongi came in; yoongi just started with his promotions, now a pic of jk with producers and bang pd came in with a big bold "making history" written on it 🫠 I don't understand how come a company this humongous can make stupidest of decisions. Oh and also hybe is fully ready to make jk the harry style of bts so things are gonna get worse. If the company is behind all this then I hope and wish jk will not break jimin's record and get that bbhot100 #1. Then only it will be a true slap on hybe's face.

That's true, last year he said it would be after Yoongi. But right now it's impossible for me to ignore the timing of it all... The words used when they posted those photos, and the implied "I'll do all the work for Jungkook" that comes with it. They also tagged it as "SBProject" which means Scooter Braun Project. He's pretty much Jungkook's manager. And they're giving him a song that they'll invest in and put out on radio and playlists and all of that. He's getting the western celebrity treatment. I can't not be bitter about it all happening amidst the shitshow that was Jimin's album release. How do you expect people to feel about it after they've spent two whole weeks endlessly asking the company and everyone they could think of to send Like Crazy to radio or to give it playlisting; to suddenly see Jungkook with fucking Scooter Braun and BangPD literally thanking him for making "this" happen.

Mind you, radio is the least hybe could've done for Jimin. It honestly seems like they didn't think he'd chart so well everywhere. Because it was literally everywhere in the world, not only in the USA. Jimin never was the member they invested in, even after all the years seeing him deliver amazing results. Everything Jimin always had was the people who supports and loves him unconditionally. People who saw him as the incredible person and artist he is and have been betting on him from the beginning.

They certainly acted stupid with Jimin's debut, but it was so clearly on purpose. Looking back on it, the timing of Jungkook "making history" with Scooter Braun of all people makes so much sense. Okay, it was planned that he'd do promo for a week and stop because of Yoongi or whatever. It was planned for years that they'd push Jungkook as their breakout artist; but even before the #1 was announced, they knew that Like Crazy was going to be top 10. They could've already started arranging a couple more activities, at least an interview. They knew what was coming but they refused to dwell too much on it because hey, we still have Jungkook, we'll put him out there so he'll give us the next #1. Jimin's time has passed.

Oh, he will get that #1. All he needs is radio and he has that secured with Scooter Braun. They saw that it was possible for a BTS member to have that kind of success and they said let's get immediately on it with Jungkook. If Jimin can do and be all that with no support at all, imagine what we can turn Jungkook into with the proper tools any company should provide. It's disgusting, I'm sorry.

All I can hope for is that Jimin knows about everything going on (he most likely does know) and will ask for proper treatment his next release.

Hey, what did I say? I knew we would get so see a glimpse of him at the D23 Expo.

The Secret Invasion trailer was released and we saw Martin as Everett Ross for about 1,5 seconds (a big improvement compared to the Black Panther 2 teaser :D ).

But that’s not all. Martin was also spotted (yes, a REAL spotting) in Atlanta 3 days ago (but the photo was only discovered today, thanks to @colourfulwatson and @safedistancefrombeingsmart ^^ ) Time for a celebration!

Martin Freeman spotter

This blog is not to be taken seriously. It’s just that sometimes (haha) Martin has the tendency to disappear for days (if we’re lucky) and even weeks or longer. Which -of course- he has every right to do so. He loves his privacy and as a fan I can and want to respect that.

I had the idea for something like this for a while now, and actually wanted to create it today. OF COURSE Martin decides to make a reappearance today. lol

Saves me the time and effort to count back the days to when he was last seen somewhere: public appearances, promo work, fan photos, bts photos, release dates and yes, even pap photos.

How does this blog work:

Every time we get to see new content of Martin (and that can be anything, really, except for artwork)), the counter resets. I will try to update daily, but I can’t promise anything. Feel free to contact me, if I missed an appearance.

I spent quite some time yesterday yelling about Star Trek with the wonderful @regionalpancake and @curator-on-ao3, and I need to share their comedic genius with the world!

We were talking about how, if the Zhat Vash are so extremely opposed to synthetic life and any form of AI, could they possibly manage to hack the androids on Mars and to cause them to go rogue? To which Curator commented:

“I’m an iPhone user and I couldn’t hack an android!”

This was followed some time later by a discussion about how in recent Trek, there has been an increasing distinction between People Who Matter and Those Who Don’t. And how its encumbent upon the people who are less significant for the fate of the world to sacrifice themselves for the Important People.

With regards to this, Pancakes observed of Rose (from Dr Who), a character who thinks she is unimportant and whom the Doctor tells that There Are No Unimportant People:

“If she were a Star Trek character, Rose would have been cannon fodder.”

Curator: “You mean... canon fodder? :D”

I don’t know if these are funny to anyone but me, but I laughed so hard I had to go find my asthma spray. So I needed to share XD

Holo-Tech Database

Over the last seven or so months, I have watched through every episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. It’s the first time I’ve seen the entire series, there were quite a few episodes in the later seasons I’d never seen before. Quite an enjoyable experience on the whole.

But because I’m me, of course I didn’t just watch TNG. Instead, I took notes every single time the holodeck or any other piece of holo-technology played a part in the plot, were the setting for even the briefest of scenes, or so much as got mentioned. Essentially, I’m building towards a database of every little scrap of canonical information about holo-technology that I can get my hand on. And this was a start.

I haven’t had the time or energy to look through all of my notes in detail. There is a lot of information in there already. Of course, I’ll only be able to draw any real conclusions once I add in all the data from DS9, Voyager, and PIC, (since I’m interested in the state of technology at the time La Sirena is in operation, because of course that’s what this is about), but it’ll be quite a while before I get there.

So, in lieu of any detailed analysis, here are some quick impressions of my first foray into holo-episode-tracking!

30 Days of Picard Postivity

With just over 30 days to go, the premiere of Star Trek: Picard season 2 (3rd March in the US, 4th March internationally) is fast approaching, and I for one cannot wait to get back into the world I fell in love with two years ago. Thirty days is quite some time, however, and even though new trailers and promo pics seem to be dropping daily, I felt like we could use something to tide us over until March.

After the long hiatus, I think this is the perfect time to revisit all the things we enjoyed about season 1. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has forgotten a lot of the details of those episodes, and who would love to see some of the wonderful characters, locations, and stories back on my dash. So, without further ado:

Massive Picard Season 2 Spoilers Ahead

So the latest episode of The Ready Room, the Star Trek recap show hosted by Wil Wheaton, had a preview of Season 2 of Star Trek: Picard. It's interviews with all of the main actors and they explain in some detail where they're characters are at at the beginning of season 2.

It puts a lot of shots from the trailers in perspective and I have a lot of thoughts that I want to share, but because this is a very, very explicit spoilery preview, I'm putting both the video and my initial reaction under the cut.

My #1 post of 2022

I just had a realization about why Agnes Jurati’s story in Star Trek: Picard season 2 feels so wrong to me, and I am going to inflict it on all of you!

Spoilers for the entirety of season 2 ahead! CW: Mention of depression, PTSD, anxiety, and emotional manipulation

(NB: I’m going to completely disregard the discrepancy in Agnes’s character between seasons 1 and 2. I think when you take Agnes’s story and development from the first season into account, her “arc” in season 2 falls apart completely. But for the sake of this argument, I’m going to meet the season 2 writers on their terms. I’m going to ignore the character of season 1 Agnes, and instead will simply look at season 2′s Jurati to explain why I think the story the writers gave her falls flat.)

I was taking notes for a way-too-long essay about my problems with PIC season 2 (which I may or may not write eventually), and I was trying to put into words why it always irks me when people say merging with the Borg Queen was a satisfying end to Jurati’s arc.

What I was never able to put my finger on until now is that when the Borg Queen and Jurati merge at the end of episode 9, that’s not actually the culmination of Jurati’s arc. It’s the Queen’s.

sculpt is good. good curve and height for montrals.

lekku is at the correct length reaching the chest, however

looks odd due to being hard plastic thus lacking foreshortening. Lekku being soft fatty tissues should press against the shoulder when one’s head turn sideways, thus the lek on that side looking shorter. Both lekku being fixed length on the figure makes them look longer than natural when the head turns.

which means the lekku are most likely not poseable, at hot toys’ precedent

the marking edges??? Video shows grooves carved into the flesh at blue marking boundaries but they are uneven? (count from top) Marking 2 took an abrupt turn downwards as if the artist squeezing room from the headdress they already forgot sculpted. Not a smooth arc in lower edge of Marking 3 and a bum in the upper edge of Marking 4

The wider white Spacing should be between Marking 3 and 4, not 4 and 5, contributes to lekku looking longer than necessary. The blue Marking 4 should move a little downard as a whole

headdress is wrong. should not be shiny silver but dirty gold/bronze.

why are those not real beads

facial markings are well proportioned

eye are too small. looks older than 16.

eyes too ice blue. should be lighter, sky blue. easy on the iris edge.

nose looks too straight, like a clone, but will give it benefit of the doubt

lips are fine, appreciates the chin

material: some kind of knit to reduce seamlines. intuitive but it's about every child's first doll dress is made out of. This is the equivalent to putting a sock over her and cut two arm holes. Knit cut costs on tailoring and and seamwork, as well any effort to resemble leather.

now this is more a pet peeve than a real issue, but i don't like how the armholes and boob window are surged while the skirt is hemmed. It is the reasonable method, but I kinda wish the skirt is also surged to give a uniform look, since you didn't even bother to use same-colour threads to hide the surging. I will bet the hem is just single hemmed too lol.

the arm bands and gloves are not removable, unlike a playline doll.

The pants being knit is something I can forgive, what ticks me was the diamonds on her legs are not cutouts, but stickers/decals/sewn-on - either way FAKED. Again, playline doll level.

Verdict

not wasting $250 on it. simply not worth it. Even disregarding clothing standard for it being an action figure, the headsculpt is less than ideal, and the body does not provide maximum articulation. Imagine if the prototype was already this bad how off will the final product be. Not a toy made for play and doesn’t even look good as a display piece.

Crown of Sorrow (with pics!)

This is a spontaneous deep dive and got very long, so I’m putting a cut not to give you all a headache. If you want to generate some imbaru by connecting Crown of Sorrow, Savathun’s song and the Taking powers, read along.

Uh, so. @thefirstknife​ sent this of Crown of Sorrow runes and said the symbol in the center was Savathun’s sigil. And I was struck by how similar to Oryx’s symbol it looked, so I wasted 5 minutes of my time aligning the two together.

But then I thought, hey. Since Season of Arrivals, we know the actual symbol of Savathun! So wasted another 10 minutes trying to find out whether Oryx’s symbol would fit in there too.

The result is crude at best, but ??? there may be something here???

And THEN I saw the Witch Queen reveal pic, and noticed there is this tiny white sigil, not just the big green one Eris had shown us.

It looks weird, but aligns. The holes, notably. Merged together, this could have been one sign.

These are the merged sigils aligned with the symbol of the Crown, image flipped upside-down.

I also stretched the little symbol from TWQ promo to align it with the Crown one, but only the top part seems to match whatsoever, and it seems a stretch overall:

So what have we learned from all this?

First, what’s inside the Crown is definitely not Savathun’s symbol. It looks like Oryx’s sigil merged with Sav’s sigil and flipped upside-down, plus some extra lines. Second, Oryx and Sav’s sigils look very similar; we have yet to see Xivu’s sign, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it bore similarity to these two as well.

Curiously, Crota’s sigil is starkly different... But you know what it bears resemblance to?

I don’t really know what connection to make here, but we know Crota’s daughters have been researching the Darkness on the Moon.

I read the lore to the Shadow of War Suit, the set from the CoS raid. In it, Calus sheds some light on how the Crown ended up on the Leviathan - it was found on a Hive war moon, and the Psions believed it had been crafted to imitate Oryx’s power to Take. And, in a way, it Took Gahlran’s will. They figured out it was a seeing device, too, sending data to the Ascendant Plane. And since Gahlran’s corruption, the Witch “has been plaguing all my Loyalists since then, as a sort of viral language. Perhaps even you.” Calus also goes on to say the “viral laguage” had been “etched into the Crown's interior” and took over the wearer.

This might be the possible explanation of what Savathun’s song is. This will be a bold assumption, but I believe the sigil on the inside of the Crown is the Song, but in writing, as a rune. If in the Ascendant spaces there is no difference between a word and its meaning, and the runes are what they represent, the Song can as well be the power it invokes.

A reddit thread pointed me in Oryx’s direction here, and his symbol inverted could represent just the inversion of Oryx’s power to Take - whoever is influenced by the inverted symbol, is Took. Now Ghalran is certainly not a Taken, but Savathun is nothing if not subtle, so she could have Took his will without having it manifest in his appearance. We know she’s in control of Oryx’s taken, at least to some extent, and the Song could be connected to this in a way.

I also think it’s like. This glamorizing of the “naturally talented” artist who can churn out a picture in 10 minutes flat because it mystifies decent art as something which is done exclusively by exceptionally brilliant people almost like magic rather than shows it for the often tedious time consuming process it is, or how anyone can create good art if given the time, patience and tools. This is especially annoying bc it leads to people who don’t understand artists who like, gather reference, draw thumbnails, draft multiple versions of a sketch before they get anywhere near a final product. Cuz you never see this you just see them put pen to paper and churn out an amazing creation. There -are- very talented artists who can churn out top quality stuff in no time, I envy them a lot, I would never deny their skill, but the fact that they are the standard everyone else is held to in the age of social media where if you can’t churn out good pics every 5 days you just completely fall off peoples radar. Like. That sucks. People will talk about how bad the art industry is but this is extends to how people treat freelance and hobby artists as well. It’s still very cutthroat it’s still you’d better have semi popular followers who can boost your art it’s still very “wow your art quality is slipping” if each piece doesn’t surpass the last. It’s built to favor artists who are fast over those who work very carefully for a long time. And it’s double annoying bc if you complain about it people are like heh. Salty because you’re not popular huh? And I’m like no? I’m pretty much fine with the audience I have I don’t need to be super popular although I wish I could make consistent income on commissions but it’s not going to happen bc I can’t/won’t lower my prices since it takes me so long to draw. I’m speaking on behalf of artists in general and for some reason whenever I do that people who often aren’t even artists and don’t know any artists accuse me of like, being bent out of shape rather than just complaining about a trend literally everyone I know who creates Content (tm) is aware of and especially aware it’s worsening as social media becomes the dominant form of communication and self promo. So like this is the actual reason I find this “sorry it sucks it only took 10 minutes” mentality aggravating. Yea, you’re very talented, good for you. However it still sucks everyone else is being held to this same standard bc it discourages people who work differently or don’t have all this time to create

Kate's special got only 1.5M viewers and it wasn't even top 10 in that slot. That's very ,very bas, especially after all the promotion that they did. Between this and William's Earthshot viewing numbers, I'm actually shocked. TBH I was really expecting both of them to attract high audiences, ESPECIALLY coz their events had other high profile people making appearances as well, AND coz the PR/promotions for both the events was really good!

I saw a post that had numbers and stuff for the programs on Christmas eve but I haven't posted it because I don't understand it. This was supposed to show the BBC that they didn't need them and could take their projects elsewhere, however the BBC ended up with better viewer numbers anyway. 😬

I think maybe they shouldn't have done all the promo. By the time it aired people had already seen the engagement happen in real time and been given a whole heap of pics, so the airing wasn't interesting because it was old news. Combine that with the Cambridges not being able to pull big crowds (or crowds at all in Earthshot's case) and you have a big problem. It's a shame they didn't get the celebs to donate to causes that support communities during covid or to front-line workers. Seems like a missed opportunity.

Cam’s song Changes (written by Harry along with country singer-songwriter Lori McKenna and producers Kid Harpoon and Tyler Johnson) dropped in some parts of the world this morning, and it is LOVELY! It is a twangy country song about growing up and getting out of your hometown and seeing the world change and you with it. I really think Cam buried the lead when advertising this song, as the best lyric is clearly, “I was falling in love in a back seat, giving it away like my heart won’t ever break. Had such a young heart drinking cheap wine…”. Hmmm...does this sound familiar to anyone? Of course it does! Fans had a great time comparing this song to Fearless and We Made It (and, honestly, yes. I agree). But that is not enough music news for Harry: SiriusXM started releasing videos of Harry’s New York performance in February (whoa a lifetime ago), including Kiwi, Golden, and Lights Up. The performances are, as always, ELECTRIC, and I can’t wait to be able to see them live, eventually.  

Zayn is back and he’s posting Better promotion on instagram (the song, not like...he’s doing a better job...oh, you know what I mean). He hasn’t blessed us with any more covers since yesterday, but he’s active, so I think we’ll be hearing more from him very soon….Maybe some of those songs he registered last month? Please???

All I want for Christmas is...for Liam to branch out and add Tech Expert to his resume alongside ‘YouTuber’ and ‘Tik Tok sensation’? Well, maybe that’s a hyperspecific demand, but it seems like I’m in luck! Liam will be joining the speaker line up of Web Summit 2020, which is a program which “brings together the people and companies redefining the global tech industry”. Liam *is* a recording tech expert, but that’s probably not what they tapped him - this is likely to do with the way he is putting on consistent and quality virtual concerts in a way that has massively transformed the potential for fan engagement in socially distant times. Congrats, Liam, because you’ve worked really hard! And he’s not done working! Liam took to instagram to call fans “detectives” for figuring out that his Christmas collaboration was Dixie D’Amelio, and promising “fun” leading up to the Holidays with “Dixie and her family” (uh, do you think that her parents are gonna be involved or just her super successful 16 year old Tik Tokker sister Charlie?). Anyways, as much as I would LOVE to say that we are indeed detectives (because we are!) , the credit for letting the cat out of the bag this time goes to Dixie herself, who posted a Tik Tok of her singing the song. This, on top of the speculation that already existed, was all the confirmation we needed to know what was happening. Liam also filmed a few episodes of a podcast Happy Hour with veteran YouTuber JaackMaate on his show, where he and his friends chat with people about their jobs and their lives in a relaxed way. And! If you bought tickets to LP Act 3, check your inbox - Liam has sent information on how to access the concert, and also some pre-emptive tech support links. I don’t know if that’s a good sign or a bad one.

Niall was, again, very busy with promo, appearing on Live with Ryan Secrest and hitting all of the Royal Albert Hall talking points we’ve been hearing, but he also took the time to interact with fans on Twitter! He tells us that he’s not going to be doing anything for Halloween (“can’t go anywhere in big groups”), that he loves Bruce Springsteen, and that he’ll do a live striptease if “Slow Hands” passes a billion streams by next week. Look, I know I keep saying this, but, uh #PLEASEdontstripitdownNiall. BUT! Do show us more of your skincare routine, which is what he did on insta: he posted a pic of himself in a facemask saying, “You’ll all be saying after RAH, ‘Niall you were glowing!’ and I’ll say… ‘I know’”. 

And, Louis showed us how quickly he works when he has a goal in mind: after the unfortunate matter of merch shipping only to certain regions of the world yesterday, Backstreet Merch (the company in charge of his stuff) quickly took to twitter to say that, “We will be expanding our shipping zones to all of South America and India...within the next 48 hours.” And that’s exactly what happened! Not only that, Central America and Singapore are also on the list (catch ALL OF MY FAMILY rocking their Walls merch), although Mexico is not, and Backstreet Merch has said they have no current plans to ship to Mexico, which, hmmm. But look, I just gotta say that in 48 hours, Louis listened to his fans who have supported him (he sold out TWO stadiums in Argentina!) and quickly made his merch more accessible. Honestly, I love this man. And those countries certainly deserve it – can your country say Walls was its best selling album last week? Argentina can! Both Harry albums and Heartbreak Weather were also in the top ten.

However, I may have said good riddance to Celebtm too soon ( :{( ). TMZ has picked up their second mess of an article and is now distributing that. On top of this, Michael Straus has contacted both Judge Judy and the People’s Court to see if they can get some cable airtime and settle the small claim on TV - which, to be clear, Briana has to agree to, but it seems likely. Celebtm (despite saying yesterday they weren’t going to report on this until January when the court case happened, okaaaay) made a statement telling Briana to take the TV offers seriously so that Louis’ “child support” (quotes theirs, not mine) wouldn’t go to her legal fees. They went on to say, “We only see #onedirection here. To #EndIt on television and win your freedom to love ❤️ again with the next victim. Thank you #1DFamily for supporting #louistomlinson during these chaotic #1D times”. We DO support Louis, which is more than I can say for celebtm. It might bring a little thrill to see a media outlet proclaiming End It, but is it a good thing for Louis? No. This is happening because of the response they're getting and unless someone makes them (mark this down cause you won't see me saying this usually but omg LTHQ will you please get in here and shut this talk down?) they won't stop with this nonsense (see: yesterday's Larry Stylinson article) until the fans stop cheering them on. Speaking of nonsense on Instagram, Lou the golden retriever, the influencer dog fans headcanon-ed was the one HSHQ posted, decided he wanted a piece of the pie and has joined the swollen ranks of accounts falsely claiming a connection to Harry. There are many, including deuxmoi who post an endless stream of made up stories, but also the occasional credible sounding fan report such as yesterday's of Harry at a gym in the UK, and, um, WOW! It’s one of those fitness classes where you alternate your running pace to accelerate your heart rate, and the fan account claimed that Harry’s base pace (that is, comfortable running pace) is 10 mph, which is a 6 minute mile, or a 5k in 18 minutes. Uh, WHAT?? Guys, that’s it: I’m officially a stan, I love this man, and I want to go on a run with him.

ANON I FEEL YOU. i'm with you though, that reviewer is basically the only one i trust to give a balanced opinion on how good an episode is so now i'm in a tizzy. have never in my life heard of the name thomas fuller before today and now i'm googling his top 10 quotes 😭 i was between that quote and "It is said that the darkest hour of the night comes just before the dawn." but given the relationship between lauren and leyla so far and how the focus in these first 5 episodes of 4b were on lauren trying to atone for what she's done, the forgiveness quote would line up. i mean, helen’s words to lauren in 4x14 were literally “lauren, whatever you’ve done. you’ve got to let that go. you have to forgive yourself.” the quote could be referring to leyla forgiving lauren and maybe.... not to get my hopes up........ leyla acknowledging the extreme things she said in their fight in 4x10, that lauren tried to buy her by providing food and shelter and clothing, the basic necessities for life. which i still maintain was going too far on leyla's part.

of course i could very well be blowing smoke up my own ass! but i think narratively we've seen groundwork laid out to counteract the idea that those were ways lauren tried to own leyla and her saying so was a very hurtful and harsh blow. especially when leyla herself has spoken about what a struggle surviving was multiple times in 4x02 with the residents "privileged? 6 months ago i was living in my car," "i've always scraped by. done the best i could with what little i had" and again, the kind of toll it takes on a person in 4x09 with floyd in the OR, "when i came here, i couldn't shake the fear that i would lose everything. any minute. when you feel like that, you do anything you can to survive. you even put out fires with your bare hands and feet." not to mention the way leyla had to look away when lauren said "i tried to control you with money" with a tinge of dare i say regret. like????? WAS IT ALL JUST TO MAKE THE KNIFE HURT MORE GOING IN WRITERS???? OR WAS IT TO ESTABLISH NUANCE IN THEIR CHARACTERS AND HOW THEY EACH CARRY THEIR OWN TRAUMA AND BAGGAGE THAT COLOR THEIR IMPERFECT WAYS OF REACTING???

Yeah, yeah… I’ve used used this one before in my Tayliz conspiracy theories and I still see a possible Tayliz connection with the specific records chosen (especially since Liz was starting to tweet about Jason around this time)… Liz and Taylor saw Coldplay perform and met the band in Australia in 2009 during Liz’s first international trip with the band (a little over a month after her first performance with Taylor)… Liz is obsessed with Tom Petty and they performed his song “American Girl” for a promo video filmed on a bus in front of the Rose Garden in Portland… Liz referenced Ryan Adams multiple times and Taylor wrote a song with him for Red that never got released and Liz put his song “Come Pick Me Up” on her “H8U, love these…” playlist (which may have been a song Taylor referenced on “I Wish You Would”) (all of this was pre-knowledge of him being an abusive, manipulative creep and instead of releasing the song she wrote with him, Taylor asked Phoebe to feature on Nothing New)… I can think of no Tayliz connection to Band Of Horses and I still don’t know what the album in the middle is, but who knows it may be Tayliz related haha…

This is the part where I clarify that I am still on the fence about whether Tayliz had anything beyond friendship or not, although there’s enough for me to think it’s a possibility… same as there is with other women, like Julianne and Lily.

Either way, I believe that, even though Taylor Squared were just PR/bearding, they did actually become friends. Idk if they hung out much after this, but Taylor did say they were friends during Speak Now promo and he did go to a Speak Now tour show at the Staples Center (her first PR boyfriend/beard was there too).
