dreamt up an insane toontown AU on the way home from college then proceeded to spend 3 hours making an animatic for it
here's a basic rundown under the cut!! :)
missy, formerly a lab assistant of iconic inventor gyro gearloose, got caught up in one of his experiments and wound up thrown outside the entire fabric of reality. she spent an unknown amount of time stuck in a mysterious island in the far reaches of the void, with only a tree in it she could nap under.
at some point. as one of the leaves of the tree falls on her head, she gets suddenly sent back into the town she used to know, but at a time period she didn't quite remember. she witnesses an event she had never heard of before, an election for the president of the toon council? that didn't quite ring a bell. but as the events of doomsday unfold she quickly comes to realize she has been granted a gift of sorts that allows her to travel through several iterations of her reality.
from there, she begins to explore all the different worlds that branched off from hers, getting to know toons and cogs she could never have dreamt of
+ specific events in it:
toontown rewritten (presidental elections) toontown rewritten (under new management, club president) toontown corporate clash (hires & heroes, duck shuffler) toontown offline (duck hunt, the chairman) toontown offline (five nights at the factory) madtoontownreturns (the end trilogy + the COG) toontown corporate clash (making fun of robert looking like a lil nerd + rocky agreeing) toontown corporate clash (fighting the vp to rescue rain) toontown rewritten (field offices, fighting the boiler) toontown event horizon (the infinisuite) toontown corporate clash (redd heir wing) toontown online (kong vs the cog bosses) toontown infinite (their unfinished ttc event) toontown rewritten (meeting fissionton) toontown rewritten (under new management, the foreman) toontown online (laosinaa's dark pixie dust 2) toontown the animated series (deedee + cog boss poster) toontown corporate clash (high roller)
this is the song btw

Quote from an newspaper's excerpt. Date 3 June 2001. In The Place Where Cartoons Reside:
"(...) June 2001, day of Atlantis's premiere. Time for celebration in Toontown, where new people are being welcomed. The air it's fizzly as only the young days of summer can be. The party echoes with sparks of amity and laughter. Bonds are being made. Antics are unintentionally rolling. It's a gentle day."

Got sidelined while designing High Roller plushie; was I too late to join the Clash community or is there a startling lack of toons in High Roller-esque clothing art?

Jessica Rabbit: Ravishing Redhead of the Silver Screen by Jade Gretz
The scent of trouble clung to Jessica Rabbit like Roger's spilled seltzer. It wasn't the usual philandering toon drama, nor some jealous rival vying for her spotlight. This was colder, deeper - a disquiet that gnawed at the very edges of Toontown. It started with Benny the Cab. One minute he was happily chauffeuring tourists, the next, a poof of smoke and a faint echo of laughter. Then came Ms. Grunion, the sardonic gossip columnist, vanished mid-sentence, leaving behind only a fluttering butterfly-shaped brooch. The disappearances, all high-profile cartoons, had a chilling efficiency.
"Something's rotten in Toontown, doll," Roger fidgeted, his normally jaunty grin replaced by a worried furrow. Jessica ran a hand through her crimson mane, the ruby brooch at her chest seeming to hum with an unsettling warmth. "Don't worry, Puddin'," she assured him, her voice a steely whisper, "I'll get to the bottom of this." It wasn't just about protecting Toontown, though that was a given. Jessica, for all her glamour, possessed a fierce investigative spirit fueled by a childhood spent poring over detective novels. This was a puzzle, and Jessica Rabbit wasn't one to back down from a challenge.
Her first lead came from a dusty corner of the Maroon Cartoon Archives, a place untouched by time (or at least, the chaotic kind that plagued Toontown). A faded ledger mentioned the "Inkwell of Infinite Possibilities," a relic from the forgotten era of Black and White cartoons. Whispers spoke of its power to bend reality, to rewrite storylines with a single dip of the pen. Could it be linked to the disappearances?
Finding the Inkwell was no easy feat. It wasn't a shining artifact guarded by snarling beasts; it was hidden in plain sight, disguised as a chipped porcelain well in the courtyard of an abandoned animation studio, overrun by thorny vines. As Jessica pushed through the undergrowth, a raven squawked, its beady eyes gleaming with malevolent curiosity. The air crackled with an unnatural stillness, broken only by the rustle of unseen things.

hi if i go too long without making toontown lore posts ill die so heres some more worldbuilding for my toontown story (mainly related to cog fighting) ive been meaning to put down for a while LMAO
cog fighting is completely voluntary and not something the toon council forces on toons. forcing a toon to fight cogs instead of letting them choose for themself is very frowned upon by the toon council and most toons in general, and there can be repercussions for it. of course the toon council wants all the help they can get but theres plenty of reasons why a toon might not fight cogs. for example, most shopkeepers wouldnt have the time to fight cogs as theyre mostly focused on running their shops where they provide different and still necessary services to toontown
its actually very crucial that some toons dont fight cogs, if every single toon was a cog fighter, there wouldnt be enough doctors, firefighters, janitors, cooks, etc, and all of that stuff is pretty important. even most sos toons dont fight cogs a whole lot most of the time, and mainly just do so when theyre called in for help from their sos cards. for toons who provide important services that do fight cogs as well, they usually only have a very limited amount of gags, typically just carrying one or two gag tracks
usually, the youngest age a toon can start fighting cogs is 13 with parental consent, in some cases they can start fighting cogs at age 10 with parental consent and specific approval from the toon council, though these cases are uncommon. if a toon starts fighting cogs under the age of 13, they will need to have an older chaperone with them at all times when fighting cogs. in general, toons below the age of 16 are under curfew, where they after a certain time, they have to be back home or stay in the playgrounds in the presence of their parents or other trusted guardians. after the cogs started invading toontown, curfew was extended to fighting cogs as well. cog-fighting curfew is earlier than regular curfew however, which means that toons under 16 can only fight cogs for a few hours each day
to join the toon resistance, toons have to be at least 18 years old and preferably already have a decent amount of cog-fighting experience. the toon resistance deals with more dangerous and urgent matters in terms of fighting cogs, and so its deemed incredibly unsafe for toons under 18 to become resistance rangers
with there being a lot of toons who have volunteered to fight cogs, gags are in somewhat limited capacity. hammerspace does leave a lot of room but its not infinite, which is why toons are only allowed to carry up to six gag tracks and just one of each level 7 gag, with toons who have earned the smasher badge being allowed to carry just one extra level 7 gag of their choosing. if every cog-fighting toon was able to carry all seven gag tracks, there wouldnt be enough gags for all of them to use
toons typically start off with just two gag tracks, though some only choose to have one. most toons start off with throw and squirt, but are able to choose any one or two starting gag tracks, and whenever theyre able to start training for a new gag track, theyre able to choose any new gag track to train for that they dont already have. toons are able to change their gag setup if they so desire, but they have to specifically arrange this with the toon council, and are only able to change their gag setup a very limited amount of times

I love Toontown. I love submas. It makes sense to mash them both together (at least in my mentally ill mind it does). You fight both of them separately in different areas, but on the way to Bossbot HQ you can enter into a building which leads to an underground subway. Their levels add up to level 60, making them INFINITELY stronger when they’re together. They both also have motifs that come together during their double battle to make a full song.
(I’m sorry this is my favorite line of his from the manga)

List 5 things that make you happy, then put this in the askbox for the last 10 people who liked or reblogged something from you! Get to know your mutuals and followers ⭐️
hi maple ✨✨
Hi Couchie! Anyone who sees this and wants to fill it out themselves, feel free to! I don't bite and I think it'd be nice if I inspired you! :D
5 Things that make Maple happy
Toontown as a whole! Corporate Clash, Rewritten, Infinite, Project Altis, Online, Realms... You name it, I've probably played it or explored it in some way. I could genuinely go on a whole RAMBLE about this game, but I think my Toontown tag speaks for itself here.
2. Being able to play mom/dad friend! It makes me happy to be able to provide the love and support that others might need and/or don't hear very often. If I can make a difference, even if I never know about it, I can go about my day knowing I can help someone. And to those who know me on a more personal level, I'm extra happy to be in your life...
3. Gummy candy, especially if it's on the sour side! I love things like Trolli, Sour Patch Kids, and Jolly Ranch gummies (I was never really a fan of the hard candy)! It always hits the spot. I have a sweet tooth for other candies like Snickers, Swedish Fish, and KitKats.
4. My voice! This is probably a weird one, but let me explain. Not a lot of people can hear their own voice without, say, grimacing or getting second-hand embarrassment. From ages 10 to 18, I liked participating in my school's chorus, and in that time, I learned to appreciate my voice. I still explore my vocal range, and learning to appreciate my voice has helped with my confidence.
5. Hot chocolate! (...When it doesn't burn me, naturally.) Be it hot or cold, water or milk, with or without marshmallows, summer or winter... I love cocoa. I don't drink it all that much compared to water, but it is such a treat!

i can literally never go back to TTR at this point. i cannot possibly overstate the degree to which TTCC has permanently ruined rewritten for me in the ONE MONTH i have played it consistently this year so far. (i played it for a month when it first came out but i just never got into it back then.)
rewritten is just... so bad and unfun, relatively. it's fatally stuck in the past. it's for nostalgic people who want a few months of ignorant fun, not for long-term enjoyment. don't get me wrong, TTO was certifiably The Shit back in the late 2000s and all we stupid children loved it exactly how it was (which is how TTR still is), but how can it possibly be enjoyed anymore once you've seen the greener pastures? even if clash was almost an exact copy of rewritten and the only differences were the quality of life changes, those changes are so impactful on every aspect of gameplay that i'd still feel the same way.
but it's not even just QoL changes, clash also improves on every aspect of the story, characters, the game mechanics, etc. fuck, even just the clash team is infinitely better than rewritten's. they actually respond to emails, take action against bad actors, approve names within 24 hours (rewritten takes WELL over 1 month recently), and god man, it's so so SOOOO obvious just how passionate the clash team is about the game. it's not something they need to say out loud; it's something you straight up feel as you play it. they pour their hearts and souls into making clash the best it can possibly be.
i used to play rewritten thinking i was having fun, but i am honest to god questioning that now. i don't think i was ever having fun on it in the past few years, not seriously. it's all nostalgia for a game that suffers from crushing subscription-incentivizing design and 2003 capabilities. the entire game is going through the fucking Motions, wasting your life playing the most soul-suckingly repetitive ways disney could implement to keep a bunch of 9 year olds begging their parents for a monthly subscription back in 2009 so they wouldn't get locked out of their toon before they could complete their seventh Back Nine in a row to do one CEO before their math homework. there's not even any strategy involved in the gameplay because it's not meant to pose any sort of challenge, it's just a timesink for monthly subscriptions. clash feels fresh. there's actual strategy and it can be really difficult (in a fun way!!!!) even if you're experienced.
clash is the modern take on toontown, and man do they knock it out of the park on every single account. the fact that i have recently discovered one of my new favorite fictional characters ever and it comes from clash says a lot about how good it is. meanwhile in TTO/TTR, you can generally find people laughing about lil oldman or maybe saying they enjoy flippy, but not much else love for characters besides edge cases. the story of clash has genuine replayability. i feel actual excitement to replay the managers in clash and even to grind them, whereas i would always dread having to do another suit boss or field office in rewritten. playing it is almost like an abusive relationship. i never maxed a toon in TTO, so i really wanted to max a toon in TTR since it was the closest thing... it's such an extreme example of the sunk cost fallacy, blatantly so now that i've played clash.
the fact of the matter is, i grew up. TTO was, and now TTR is, fun for people under the age of 15, and/or people stuck in the early 2010s at the latest. despite being really into clash for such a short amount of time so far, i've already heard this sentiment echoed a number of times while playing it. no one who goes into clash with an open mind and gives it an honest chance goes back to rewritten in a meaningful capacity. no one hits 115 laff in rewritten and thinks "wow, almost all of the rest of my laff will come from suits, i'm so excited to do back nines!" meanwhile i'm about to hit 115 laff in clash and i'm not even remotely finished with the (compelling, well-written, and cohesive) story, much less doing anything repetitive. i'm only excited to continue where i'm at.
#this is a mess. i just wanted to rant#i still log into rewritten a couple times a week to keep up on my cattlelog (the urge to Collect despite no intentions to Play again)#but also to gift my few friends all the wearables since afking at beanfest while on clash is so easy and it makes them super happy :')#also so when friends see me online and whisper me i can continue telling them how much fun i'm having on clash (HINT HINT)#three of them have said they want to check out clash 😉😳😏 i'm working on wearing them down to bring them over ok#one of them said the same thing i kept telling myself for weeks before i started clash:#“i just want to max this toon and then i'll happily try out clash :) i've only heard really good things about it. i'm excited to play it!”#they're at 123 laff rn and i was at 126 laff when i was telling myself that last month right after maxing cashbot#trying my hardest to telepathically beam directly into their brain just how far from worthwhile that endeavor is without being pushy#just take a leap and go straight to clash... instant life improvement + very quick redpill for seeing how bad the rewritten experience is#clashpilled......#original

Do you think Ducktales could work as an attraction? What would be a good attraction based around it?
Well, in a sense, they've already done that - over in Disneyland, they've made adjustments in Toontown. At Donald's houseboat, you can spot the triplets in windows, like this
And Webby was spotted in Goofy's house -
But if I had infinite money and wielded the power to make such decisions, I think an attraction/ride based on the Money Bin would work. The "story" could be a hidden Third Bin, as folks either walk through or ride through various rooms filled with treasures Scrooge and the gang have collected, maybe try to run away/stop his villains.

KieueCaprie's Games Finished List of 2023: Entry 7
#11: Pokémon Infinite Fusion
What's done? Kanto
What platform? PC
Started when? 20/3/23
Finished when? 22/3/23
Clear 2
What's done? Kanto, again, but randomized
Started when? 22/3/23
Finished when? 23/3/23
So, this fangame I picked up playing after seeing a couple of people playing through it and man, it's quite nice playing through Kanto yet again but this time it's with weird strange freaks you make with the fusions in a fangame.
Classic Mode was actually a little harder than Randomized but it may be because I was playing on the dumbest setting possible with Randomized, so it ended up with me seeing a million legendaries and getting to the point where I just wasn't really pleased to see a legendary or mythical anymore.
It was still fun, mind you, it was just really funny having a second playthrough be seeing previously rare Pokémon become exceedingly common.
#12: Sludge Life
What's done? All endings
What platform? PC, Steam
Started when? 26/3/23
Finished when? 27/3/23
This game was on my radar for a good while but I kind of forgot about it as though I had suffered a weird fever dream about cigarettes, cats with two buttholes (no, seriously), and graffiti. It did come back onto said radar later on when it released on Steam but was drowned out by the noise of other games at the time (I honestly forgot what was there at the time.)
Then it became free. So, I guess I took the opportunity to do so before the period of when it was free came to an end and it was an enjoyable walking sim of sorts, I like these kind of weird games where you do stuff and just generally explore an area without much lore to go off on.
Maybe now that the sequel is out, I'll probably grab it once my radar empties, sadly, I got Pikmin 4 and AC6 on the horizon so that may be a while...
#13: They Hunger
What's done? Full campaign
What platform? PC, Steam, Sven Co-Op
Multiplayer? Yes, with armoreddragon99 and Kaelynthegoat (I dunno if there was a fourth? Could be, please correct me.)
Finished when? 29/3/23
So, I think I remember trying to play They Hunger solo several times back in the day but I could never complete it because I was not very skilled or knowledgable about operating my own private listen server back then.
Either that or I lacked the motivation to play through it.
However, with Kaelyn and Armored in tow, we completed the campaign for They Hunger over two sessions, although we eventually had to use a walkthrough to figure out where to go next because there were times when conveyance was pretty bad.
It was very quaint and enjoyable for what it is, certainly not something to write home about in this day and age but the fact that this existed in the first place waaay back then, I can truly appreciate that.
#14: Dungeon Defenders
What's done? Base Campaign, Hardcore Hard mode
What platform? PC, Steam
Finished when? 5/4/23
Multiplayer? Yes, with Armoreddragon99
Now, I should iterate that this is the ORIGINAL version, not the remake, not the other branch, the ORIGINAL, with all of its flaws and issues on full display.
It's kinda fun and enjoyable still, feels loads better than its successor, Dungeon Defenders 2, which kind of... I dunno, there's something that's felt off about it.
No screenshots, again.
#15: Toontown Corporate Clash
What's done? The main taskline as of V1.3
Finished when? 6/5/23
Toontown Online is one of those games that kind of sit in my subconscious and only surfaces from time to time, much like stuff like Maplestory, Neopets, Kartrider (RIP OG), and maybe a few others I neglected to mention.
Now, Rewritten was the first private server I've played after TTO's servers had shut down and while I liked it for what it was, which was a nearly-pure vanilla gameplay, I felt like I had been spoiled by other more modern MMOs and it was a little rough trying to get into a groove with it. Couple that with my social anxiety and, well, I've never made much progress into Rewritten. Heck, I've yet to leave TTC there and the furthest I've gotten recently is my bear toon named Flint who is halfway through his Sound track training!
Enter: Corporate Clash. I've seen this private server variant float around for a while and thought the concept felt interesting but never really got into it until The First (Second? Third? I lost count...) Twitter Exodus and I came onto Tumblr.
You see that toon in the second screenshot, Loopy Lancelot? Yeah, that's a toon belonging to photondoesstuff, who I follow here on Tumblr, whose reblogs and likes kept putting TTCC content on my dashboard, most notably these stranger looking cogs that were classified as managers.
Combine that with the drive to see Sads the Skelecog (who is now gone from canon forever so I'll never see him now 😔), and I created my first proper toon on there, a non-binary deer who now joins the ranks of my OCs because god knows I need more of them. I'm still debating on whether I should change their name or not but this isn't the post for it.
I really loved how much they changed the game, they took the entire Toontown game, stripped it down to its components and basically said "How far can we push this game to its limits?" and they've largely succeeded.
The main taskline was an easy and clear goal, the manager fights were fun and not Sound Meta Sound Meta Sound Meta (Still have that in Cog Facilities and HQ Cog Waves (Up until Bossbot, at least)), there were more cosmetics to play around with, there's stickers, choosing your gag tracks was great and having them all levelled and KEEPING their experience if you respec was amazing, and there's still more to this if their teasers about 2.0 content is to be believed.
Sure, you get the Ship of Theseus problem with Corporate Clash where you ask if this is still Toontown even when it has been majorly reworked but I still think it has some Toontown Online DNA still in there, for better or worse, and I'm okay with that.
