also the reason i was thinking about old shifter twins lore is cause i was brainstorming an idea for if the TADC plot was in the tooniverse… i’ll at least be drawing it at some point
#also i just wanna draw the cast as CE toons LOL#the idea is that they’re all humans who are in a similar situation to patton’s experimentation in the facility#but this is much less torturous it’s more just sinister/physically benign#but everyone at some point was involved in a human-toon symbiosis study and got taken cause i wanna reference the voluntary usage#of VR but involuntary joining of the circus#all the humans got chemically experimented on and got their memories Yoinked like patton but they’re being conditioned to basically do#Cartoon Shit similar to the show being like HANG OUT IN THE CIRCUS! Toontown: Rewritten Recap: February 2003 (Electorate Campaign Arc: Part 1)
Remember how Flippy and Slappy both mentioned that they were campaigning for an upcoming election? Here’s the pay-off for that!
February 15, 2003
A red cat named Alec Tinn made the post to the news blog on this day.
He was the host for the elections, and apparently so interesting that he could write a book about himself, but we wouldn’t learn ANYTHING about his rich and interesting backstory for QUITE some time.
No, he was here to introduce Slappy and Flippy, the two candidates handpicked by Mayor Mickey Mouse himself to lead the newly formed Toon Council. Why? Because simultaneously running the town and maintaining his film career was tiring.
But he wants the people to choose the Toon Council President.
Voting began on February 28th, and the election was scheduled for March 1st.
In the mean time, the Toon Troop had been setting up decorations in Toontown Central’s playground (whenever they weren’t working on the battle system), and Alec Tinn himself would sometimes show up in Toontown Central to answer questions.
(Sometimes, the dev team would create Player Character Toons who’d serve as canonical in-lore characters. Aside from their respective Toon Troopers, they’d sometimes play as major NPC’s, such as having Slappy host a party, or having Alec Tinn host an in-game Q&A session.)
In game, the shopkeepers couldn’t help but talk about the upcoming Election, and Flippy’s and Slappy’s campaign stands had already been set up (Flippy’s in front of the Library, Slappy’s in front of the Toon HQ), though they didn’t have any functionality yet.
But that would soon change.
February 17, 2003
Flippy had brought a wheelbarrow full of pies over to his orange campaign stand and reminded everyone to “Flip for Flippy!” at the elections.
The wheelbarrow had a portable hole unseen at the bottom of the pile of pies, meaning that everyone could run up, pick up 25 pies, and go ham throwing them everywhere (just like with Robot Thief and December’s Snowball Fight).
Word of advice, if you give a Toontown player pies to throw (in game), pies WILL go flying.
Also, the decorations for the election were moved around to make the playground less cluttered.
February 19, 2003
Slappy introduced himself, started rambling a bit, and then mentioned that he has a tendency to ramble. He recapped his previous campaign activities (turning bears into polar bears during the lead-up to Christmas, starting the Great Snowball Fight in the aftermath) and also noted that he wanted to talk a bit more about himself so Toons will know who they’re voting for, hoping to avoid a situation like with Flippy’s more concise post (he then proceeded to shout out Flippy as an amazing toon, something he knows from personally knowing the guy). He wants to build a black-and-white playground for those older toons from before the time of color.
But to get to the point, he figured his gift to Toontown would be distributing Jellybeans. Not directly to the voters, that would PROBABLY be election fraud, but by having the voters distribute them themselves.
He gave all of the Toons in Toontown six single-use “Unite Phrases” that could be used to spread cheer across Toontown.
Four of those single-use phrases would give Jellybeans to all caught in the AOE, while two would do the same with Flippy’s pies.
Also, he repainted the sign his campaign stand was holding up.
He also cautioned everyone not to use all the phrases in one place. All six phrases could be found in the “Unites” section of the Speedchat menu.
February 21, 2003
Flippy backstory time!
He first moved into Toontown in 1999, one year after construction started. He’d wanted to move in ever since he heard about the place, and learning that Mickey Mouse (his personal hero) was the Mayor just convinced him he NEEDED to live here JUST to meet him.
He couldn’t move until he finished Tooniversity, where he got his degree in Loony Literature and Animated Adjectives. Once he earned his degree a year later, he submitted his application, and received a letter from Mayor Mickey himself, stating he’d been accepted!
He rode the trolley tracks up to Toontown Central, and was wowed by the Playground. He then met and swiftly befriended Sir Max, who was swiftly chased off by the TTPD, as there was a warrant for his arrest after he stole an ice rink a few days prior. (I could’ve SWORN that happened in 2002 using the “eleven years behind” rule, but it seems the events of the first couple months were spread across SEVERAL years in-universe.)
After that baffling meeting with someone who has since become one of his closest friends, he discovered that a Speedway was under construction, and he immediately realized that he had made the right choice. Why?
Because, he had imagined a Speedway almost EXACTLY like the one being built, as if someone had taken it STRAIGHT from his imagination and made it reality. He then met a certain Scientoon, the brains behind the Speedway and just about every other innovation in the town: Doctor Surlee. He (Surlee) even invented the Laff Meter!
The two got to talking, and hit it off almost immediately. Any idea Flippy had, Doctor Surlee could produce a blueprint that got everything right, right down to the smallest of details, including those Flippy hadn’t even mentioned.
This in turn inspired Flippy to start helping out around Toontown, which in turn lead to Mayor Mickey choosing Flippy as a candidate for Toon Council President.
If he wins, he intends to throw his full support behind Loony Labs, toons like Doctor Surlee and Sir Max, “and toons like you”.
He closed out his news blog post by teaching all of Toontown how to better throw pies, making it easier to hit smaller toons in game.
-
The idea of Mickey being Mayor is sending me.
also when the one campaign was ‘flip for flippy’ I was like ‘is the other gonna be ‘slap for slappy’?

Tooniversal has a strong grip on me because i cannot stop thinking about it. It's so genius.
The idea of a Hollywood like Toontown is killing me. Like movie actors, music artists, artists, show hosts, etc. Entertainment as a whole. I love it so much. Imagine toons filming a movie and there's like cameramen, the prop department, makeup artists, and the director. Or a radio drama with its narrator and actors. AND OTHER THINGS I CANNOT THINK OF IN THE MOMENT but will remember later.
Haven't gotten to learn much of the Tooniversal server lore itself due to how obscure it seems to be. That and I haven't searched too far just yet. But I love it dearly to my heart and I will probably finish it first before Rewritten.
I've literally been making ocs devoted to Tooniversal that I will post sooner or later. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

i am once again thinking about tto trading cards and the untapped lore potential they hold.
in prof. pete's trading card, cogology is brought up as being a field of study in the tooniverse which raises the question of how it's regarded in toon society as well as whether or not the study itself is taboo.
regardless of the populace's general stance, i personally love the idea of prof. pete encouraging this field of study amongst others due to his role as an educator and passion for knowledge (he's a graduate of tooniversity, after all!), and think it'd be cool if he played a bigger role in the story.

Hello everyone~! I am toonformers! Welcome to my simp hole blog!
It's nice to meet you all, boys, girls, persons of indistinguishable gender, humans, non humans, EVERYONE! Welcome!
I'm the runner of this blog and you may call me Toon or Huax if you like. I've been on tumblr for about a year now, and while I'm a small blog, I like to have my art pack BIG THINGS! I'm a complete fanatic of Transformers Animated, and have a TON of au ideas, ocs and headcanons to share, so if that's your thing, stick around for a bit! :D
Now for some lil bits and details about my blog!
I am an adult user, but I don't condone any NSFW stuff on my blog, so away with the valveplug!
I'm usually drawing my ocs from the Twinsies and Tooniverse au, if you want to know about it look for #tfa twinsies au and #tfa tooniverse au in the tags!
CURRENTLY TAKING OC and canon character sketch request so leave an ask, and I'll draw!
I roleplay! Blogs are both ocs and canon characters. They are *INHALE* @centinela-minor @ratchetsrepairbay @ask-cliffjumper @horizon-prime AND @sentinel-primes Each have relatively the same rules, but different lore things in their blogs, so look for their pinned posts!
I'm open to any other asks and just a moment to chill!
On a serious note, I do occasionally vent on this blog, so block #sad toon #very sad toon #angry toon and #tw: vent if you don't want to see it
Announcements for my blog (or stupid thoughts) will be in the #toon rambles tag
That's all folks! Have fun!

There's a thought that struck me out of a sudden...Bendy, what's the deal between you and the other "Bendys" in Toon Town? I mean there's Mafia Bendy, Bandy, Big Ben...but people only remember you and ignore your other selves. It's because of what you did during the Bad Thing, right? But still...i don't know if there are racist toons in town, but do they despise the other "Bendys" just as much as you? It's something that really confuses me XD
Its okay to be confused, because I have been confusing and inconsistent here. I’ve been breaking my own AU rules, but I can attempt to clarify: AU stands for Alternate Universe, meaning that this Bendy exists in the Devil’s Roost Alternate Universe as a separate chain of events, rules, lore and history to any other of the AU’s.
In my lore there is a sort of portal that leads to the Tooniverse and Human realm, but you can also access other AU’s through this portal. My Bendy, also known as Devils’ Roost, DR, (Or Doc) is the only Bendy, and only REAL DEMON, that exists in the Devil’s Roost story and universe. Any other time he’s met any other Bendy’s its been through cross over of the universes, or inviting people over to his universe, or, that event is simply just for laughs and not canon, like Trash AU for example.
This is where the crossover of Mafia Universe (by Eliana) happens. Kathlene and her family have come from Mafia Universe but she’s now moved in with Bendy. In her universe there were other Bendys, like Mafia bendy and Kit Bendy etc. Big Ben in DR AU has his own origin and path yet to be revealed. In this universe the other toons don’t know any other Bendys exist, as they technically don’t exist at all, at leas not in their universe. They’re wary of Big Ben, but canonically have never met other Bendys, and people like Dylan are fleeting visitors dragged in through portals. So yes, to sum up, if you see me interacting with other Bendys its just for fun and not canon. I actually intend to go through my whole blog and make a specific tag for canon stuff, stupid gag stuff and also my art tag to make it easier to find this stuff.

Made in Anime - Descent into a rabbit hole
So, I was doing my typical cover review and I was going through the anime covered by Isegye Idols in their Tooniverse Anime Medley, and I was familiar with some of the titles. Inuyasha, of course, Kare Kano, Hideki Anno’s hidden masterpiece, Maruko-chan, more popular in Asia than in America, Full Moon, not to confused with Sailor Moon, although probably adheres more closely to what most people think Sailor Moon is than Sailor Moon, Yume no Patissiere, which recently had a resurgence due to a TikTok post… although that post came a month after this video… is Isegye Idol a trendsetter?
Whatever, Jururu sang the OP to Ghost Stories, which I was a bit confused about so I searched and found that America’s conception of Ghost Stories was completely wrong!
The traditional story behind Ghost Stories was that this anime was a terrible series that became a critical and commercial failure in Japan and since no one would have watched it, the production studio and the VA decided to make it a comedy series.
That was pretty much the opposite of true, while Japan did sour on the series, at least critically, at the time it did well, really well. 12% rating was nothing to scoff at, considering it was an horror anime series, a niche inside a niche. Most Japanese know it as kind of a Watership Down, series ostensibly made for children but much more serious than the intended audience's maturity. And in Korea, it was the cornerstone of the Tooniverse Renaissance, hence its inclusion in the medley, and it was critically and commercially acclaimed. The theme and OST is by the guy who made Inuyasha and so is widely celebrated today, and there are still Japanese fans who want a second series, twenty years after the original series aired, even though it was commissioned as a twenty episode series, not canceled due to lack of interest as the American lore says!
So, what was the reason for the dub then? Well, the lore is partially true. The production team knew it wouldn’t be popular… in America. Ghost Stories is very much a Eastern horror genre, and Asians have a very different horror code compared to Americans. Most Asian people find American horror not scary, and the same would be true in converse. More serious dub was made later, and indeed it didn’t do so well.
So, even though there is a good explanation, the lore still kind of persists, exaggerating the tiny gripes of the Japanese critics and completely ignoring the commercial in Japan and especially in Korea. I probably watched this show when I was a kid, but I have no memory of it now. Me back in Korea almost feels like a different person from me who moved to Korea. My anime taste did not change, it was made anew… that is odd.

Cloud Dotcomm’s Bird Form!
Recently, my AI character interfaced with another AI in a different universe! The other AI was my friend’s character Proxy. Cloud normally cannot change form, but Proxy performed an “illegal modification” to temporarily change Cloud’s appearance to a bird.

A majority of my OC names are jokes, references to other things, or something thematic to their character:
Ijinks H. Iwerx has a lot of name inspirations! Her first name “Ijinks” refers to “eye” and “hijinks”. Her last name “Iwerx” refers to the fact that only one of her eyes work (the other is blind). Her last name is also a reference to prolific animator Ub Iwerks. Finally, her middle name is “Heidi” which is a reference to old vintage animation using “hidey-ho”, “hidey-hee”, “hidey-hay”, etc in songs.
Wayne Gates is a corruption of “gains weight”.
Ella Pawman is named after the cat she was based on, also named Ella!
Hugh Forric sounds like “euphoric”, referring to the euphoric fedora guy meme.
Diana Diamondhart is named after both her beauty and gold-digging tendencies.
Dr. Ozmium Krypton Boomer’s name abbreviates to “OK Boomer”. It also refers to his expertise in chemistry and his ability to conjure fire.
Redward DeLobb, Yelliot DeLobb and Bluey DeLobb are named after their primary colours mixed with typical male names to contrast against their odd appearance.
Tips Fedora is named after his fedora and his suave, polite behaviour as a spy/private investigator.
Jonah T. Tentious… the “T. Tentious” part refers to “tea” (because he’s a living teapot) and it rhymes with “pretentious”.
Gene Beauregarde is named after actor Gene Wilder and character Violet Beauregarde in the 1971 “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” movie.
Cloud Dotcomm is a “marketing name” and is referencing the company who created him. Brainstorm Software created the “Cloud AI” software that allows Cloud Dotcomm to exist.
Dr. Marty Bananas… “Bananas” is due to him being a proboscis monkey with a stand-up comedy hobby. “Marty” is the name of the voice actor of the character he was originally based on (which is King Koo-Koo from “Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure”).
Mayor River Moon Willows is named after the willow tree, and the tendency of hippie characters to have names relating to nature.
Cherri Niwaki’s name refers to cherry trees and her Japanese heritage. “Niwaki” is Japanese for “garden tree”.
Charleston Waltz, Madison Waltz and Dizmo Waltz are referencing Walt Disney and dancing. “The Charleston” and “The Madison” are both old dance crazes. Dizmo’s name is a combination of “disco”, “gizmo” and “dismal”.
Beeball is… both a bee and a inflatable ball!
Dr. Hans Sans Panzer’s name refers to something catastrophic that happened to him in the past (the “Sillycon Valley incident”)! I’ll talk about this eventually.
how’d you choose your oc’s name?
