I drew this all the way back in 2016 for a t-shirt I wore to Toonfest at OMG!con.

It’s one of the few early things I drew that I’m still fairly proud of. It was also my first time using DesignDoll, which I still use to this day.

heya toonblr! this is my new toontown blog, ive been lurking around and loving toonblr since jan of 2016 but havent gotten around to making an actual blog till now! 3: What is your main toon you play as (or whatever your most developed is)? Is it an OC? A sona? Your toon from Toontown Online all those years ago? Where are you in the game? (playground,gag,suit-wise). What game do you play (Rewritten, Fellowship, Offline?) Feel free to tell as much about them as you want and even include pictures if you can/want!

My main toon is Miss Bubbles Wildspeed, and she has 114 laff

She’s the main character in my fanfic titled a Toon out of Toontown. She also was my toon back in tto, but she looked a little different.(she was aqua and had the head shape with the bump, i remember hating the bump). I’m currently working on my sellbot and cashbot suits right now, i’m a level 36 hollywood and a level 10 money bags. I do have my bossbot and lawbot suit but i’m too lazy to work on them. I primarily play ttr, but if my wifi is terrible i’ll switch to offline.

7: Your favorite HQ and/or playground?

For playground id probably say Donald’s dreamland, i like the aesthetics of it and the color schemes. (the tasks on the other hand not so much) I recall it being my favorite as a kid so i also like it for nostalgic reasons 

For hq, that’s a tough one, i really like the look of lawbot hq but also cashbot hq is pretty nice. TBH i like all of the cog hqs, so can i just say all of the above?

9: How long have you been playing? Have you been here all the way back from Toontown Online’s original release up until its closure? Did you just start playing recently?

I started playing toontown in 2008 or 2009. I was introduced to it by my cousins and i can distinctly remember that event. (i have an oddly specific memory) I quit the game in 2010 or 2011 in favor of *shudders* club penguin. (What were you thinking younger me?) The reason i decided to play ttr was that i was feeling nostalgic that day and was playing my old childhood games. (webkinz, club penguin etc) When i found out that tto was shut down it was sad, but then i found ttr. That was during in game toonfest 2015 because i can remember going there and not knowing what was going on. I played it for like a week, then quit, then started playing again summer of 2016.

Scrapped assets for the 'Cog Crusher Course', an event intended for Toonfest (now known as Cartoonival) that were included in the phase files in 2015.

The project was ultimately scrapped in favour of Field Offices and all references to it were removed from the phase files in 2016.

A number of additional untextured rooms have been included below the cut.

During Toonfest 2016, a small Virtual Reality demo set in Toontown Central was shown off, even gaining an accompanying blog post. Older players may also remember a small recording of the demo, posted by Slate.

Following the event, not much was said about this demo, and it was silently abandoned. However, on July 8th, 2023, Twitter user @AnthonyTewtow11 made a post about it, prompting a reply from Hawkheart.

Alongside this, Hawkheart shared some clips from the demo that had not yet been publically released:

Anthony11: Did You Know? In 2016 Toontown Rewritten announced a new game they'd be working on being a version of Toontown In VR "VR Town". Showcasing screenshots and even a playable demo at their OmgCon booth in 2016. Although after OmgCon nothing was ever mentioned about this game since. It’s unknown how much progress was made on this game. There was a second demo of Toontown Central as well, but it’s likely the Project was silently abandoned, possibly because this side project took away resources from the main game. It would've also been developed in Unreal4.

Hawkheart: This was always just going to be a small demo! The progression of development was that we started with the Toontorial intro building, switched to TTC, and then Toon Hall. Here's a few clips from along the way: [CLIPS]

Anthony11: Woah! That's really cool to see these older clips. I always thought this was more than just a demo when they talked about this. Was this ever planned to be released? or what was this ever going to be for? I've always been kind of curious about this project.

Hawkheart: I don't remember if we were going to release it proper - we didn't completely finish the concept we'd settled on either. The final concept was a "museum of gags" where you'd teleport around and play around with each of the gags a little bit. We got the actor we work with for the trailers to record some voice lines to go along with them, and set up some of the gags to have basic interactions (see the demo of the magnet pulling the anvil at high speed) but didn't fully implement everything in time.
