Sometimes this yin seems like shes so done with with Peter. Lol
Tumblr media
WELL THAT’S BECAUSE IT’S FUN TO TRAUMATISED MY OC MUAHAHAHAH
(putting this on read more cuz the text is too long for this post)
ok ok so the answer is that Peter is somewhat … how do I say… very clingy XD this is the same guy who likes to watch your every move.. invade your privacy.. knock your head and chloroform you on day 2 and ko’d you behind the alley and in the van.. he even watches you sleep in your apartment let alone living with him! how is she not overwhelmed with this kind of act?? 🤺yknow that's how it goes.. 👎👎👎
but hey…. what I love about Peter is that he will protect you from the world, and is unafraid to show you, and shower you with his infinite love!
anyways, idk how to explain further, maybe you could also read this post about Peter’s pro and cons that i reblogged that other day! 🫶

hello can you do fella x reader and they have been dating for a few months and tyler announces them on stream 😈
btw please don’t die i love ur work 🥰😇🙏🏼
His Little Secret.
Tumblr media
Hansumfella: Tyler x Fem!Reader.
a/n: I'm not gonna die on you guys oml I PROMISE I'll keep feeding you until nature has its way with me xx
Tumblr media
the day Tyler asked you to be his girlfriend was the best day of your life. you two had met through the internet. you started streaming together and eventually hanging out in real life, as well. although your relationship had started out strictly professional, with a couple drinks, fella had admitted his feelings for you that you reciprocated. your talking stage lasted for 3 weeks, and during that time, you two were inseparable.
he took you out frequently, not to mention the way you two streamed together pretty much every night. you kept your talking stage private. only family and close friends knew. you loved how conservative he was since you were as well.
but, the day he asked you to be his girlfriend was much different than the usual, casual dates you went on. it was a beach date. the sun had just started to set whenever he turned to you and asked 'will you be my girlfriend' over a drink and take out. of course, you said yes. the two of you laid in the sand in each others arms.
after that day, you frequently spent the night at his place. you also streamed with him in person now, since you were already there anyway. people had their suspicions, but you always being at his house while he streamed did not help.
you dragged in a chair from the kitchen and sat next to Tyler. he was just about to start his stream. it was your idea to do a truth or drink stream, since he had only ever done a truth or drink hot sauce version. you figured drinking would spice it up a little.
"what's up, guys!" he exclaimed with a smile. the chat was being spammed with greetings to both of you. at this point, they were accustomed to seeing you tagging along for the stream. "if you read the fucking title, you'll know what me and y/n are doing today."
"truth or drink!" you exclaimed.
"just the usual, send a question in with 50 bits, blah blah blah." he peered at the chat then back at you with a smile. he rested his hand on your knee under the table, which was out of the view of the camera. "so, why don't we just get started. i know you guys are creaming your pants with impatience."
he swiftly turned on the text to speech with submissions. the first one came through immediately. "which one is the real skibidi sigma rizzler?"
"me, obviously." you responded immediately.
"you really wasted 50 bits on that?" he tossed up his hands in defeat. "i guess i'm going to have to admit y/n is the real skibidi sigma rizzler." he replied sarcastically. "let's get some actual juicy questions up in this bitch."
the next question interrupted him mid sentence. "favorite position?"
"bruh." he rolled his eyes and glared at me. "i'm gonna have to pass on this one."
you considered your options for a moment, "should i expose myself?" you asked, turning towards Tyler.
"i mean, go for it," he flicked his hand towards the camera, "it's your digital footprint on the line."
"yolo, I guess." you rolled your eyes. "either missionary or reverse cowgirl. next question."
it was hard for Tyler to hide the smirk on his face. you took a peek at the chats to see what they were saying.
'fella DEFINITELY knows something we dont'
'bro knows he's getting it tonight'
'BAHAHAHAHA'
'wtf fellas face 😭😭'
the next request rang from the computer. 'are you guys together or no?'
your heart sank. you looked at fella, but the hesitation made the answer obvious. he looked back at you quizically, and you nodded. you had been dating in secret for 4 months, what could announcing it now hurt?
"yes, yes we are." he grinned, "anyway..."
the chat was filled with people screaming.
'NO WAY HE PULLED'
'WHAAATATTTAATTAR'
'I KNEW IT BRU'
'THATS CRAZY'
'SHES WAY TOO FINE FOR YOU FELLA GTFOO'
'LMAAOO YUH'
'GOOD JOB FELLA'
another question, which wasn't really a question, came through. 'kiss or it isn't real.'
"I don't know about that much.." you trailed off, raising your eyebrow at tyler.
he shrugged at you, "it's okay with me if you wanna, babe."
him calling you babe made your heart flutter. you shrugged back. "alright."
he pulled you in and pecked your lips, causing a light blush to spread across both of your faces.
'OWAH'
'GET A ROOM'
'DAMNNN OKAY SO HES SERIOUS'
the comments made you laugh. "well, know you guys know." you grinned at the camera.

It was vacation time for the drivers and that meant you finally got to spend time with your boyfriend, except for when he went to the gym, which was one thing you didn’t do with him.
“Where are you going?” You asked your boyfriend as he walked out of the bathroom, a towel wrapped around his waist.
You had woken up a few moments earlier and heard the shower running. You debated joining him but the water was being turned off before you could make any further movement.
“To the gym” he smiled as he walked into the walk in closet you shared to get dressed
“Can’t you skip the gym for one day” you asked already knowing the answer to the question but decided to ask any way
“No, but I figured I’d go early enough so when I get back we still have the whole day to do whatever you want” Danny told you as he reentered the bedroom, to your disappointment fully clothed.
“Or you could join me” he added as he made his way towards the bed sitting on your side
“No your workout is so intense I’d probably die” you exaggerated as you moved closer to him “Plus you’re so sexy, I’d just be distracted the entire time” you smirked at him
He let out a laugh while putting one of his hands on the side of your face “I wouldn’t mind an audience” he told you as he leant in to kiss you.
You smiled into the kiss, happily kissing him back before he pulled away “I have to go or else Michael won’t let me leave to make up for being late” he told you getting up from the bed, giving you a quick kiss on the cheek and heading out of the room to leave
“I’ll be back before you know it. I love you” he gave you his famous Daniel Ricciardo smile before he was gone out of the room.
You just decided to go back to sleep, figuring it’d be the fastest way to kill time before he was back home and your day would start then.
-
You woke up a few hours after and it didn’t take long for you to realize Daniel still wasn’t home judging by the empty space next to you or at least that’s what you thought.
When you eventually found the energy to get up and leave your bedroom, you were met with your boyfriend making breakfast. You smiled at the site and admired how at peace he looked.
“Morning sleeping beauty” he joked with you once he caught you admiring him.
“Did you sleep well?” He asked as you made your way to sit on the counter, his hands taking a break from fixing breakfast and helping you up smiling at how cute he thought you looked
“It was okay. Would’ve been better with you next to me” you told him as you took a blueberry off one of the plates and ate it while Danny went back to making breakfast.
He had made pancakes, washed some fruit and then he was just finishing up the eggs right now. “How was the gym?” You asked him
“It was okay, would’ve been better with you” he answered you sending a smirk your way causing you to roll your eyes while laughing at him reiterating the same response you had given him.
Once the eggs were done and he plated them for the both of you, you jumped off the counter and grabbed them bringing them to the living room.
You had a routine that whenever you ate breakfast together you’d eat it in the living room, enjoying the calmness the morning brought and enjoying each other's company.
It was such a simple act but with Daniel’s busy racing schedule, you had come to appreciate the simpler moments you got to spend with each other and enjoyed just being able to be with each other.
“What do you want to do today?” you asked your boyfriend taking a bite of your pancakes
“Can we have a lazy day, maybe go for a walk later to watch the sunset” he suggested
“Sounds perfect to me” you smiled at him, leaning in to kiss his cheek.
It wasn't like Daniel to suggest something like this as he always wanted to be doing something but every once and a while he would make this type of suggestion and you loved it because it meant getting to spend the day cuddled up which was something you never took for granted.
-
When you both finished breakfast and the dishes were cleaned. You made your way back to the living room where you spent a good chuck of your day, enjoying the comfort from each other.
You watched movie after movie, some funny, some scary, it didn't matter, the two of you loved any time you got to spend together.
When the time came, you got dressed in some warmer clothes, put your shoes on and made your way to watch the sunset.
Daniel had his arms wrapped around your middle, his chin resting on your shoulder while you enjoyed the peace and quiet watching the sun set.
It was moments like this that made you the happiest. Getting to spend precious time with the man of your dreams, nothing else compared to moments like these.

On A Different Night - Matt Sturniolo
Matt sturniolo x fem!reader
heyy.
i'm back again with another imagine cause why not.
not proofread!
also pretend like matt can drive a motorcycle for the sake of this story.
____________
you recently moved to a new town and the only one you knew there was your brother nathan, along with his best friend matthew ofc.
after hanging out with them for a couple weeks already, the best decision was to finally put yourself out there and download some dating apps.
meeting a hot guy, y'all hit it off immediately and he asked you out on a date.
which leads you to now, in the restaurant with the guy named jason.
you're kind of having a good time and he's being a gentleman until jason started saying really crude things, telling you he'll go home with you rather you like it or not.
so that's when you excused yourself to the bathroom, going there rather quickly.
after calling nate to ask him if he can pick you up, he didn't answer so the only other number you have of someone in the area was his best friend matt.
deciding to text him that you feel unsave and asked if he can pick you up, he didn't reply for a few minutes.
'screw it, i'm gonna have to think of like a plan b, i'll just think of something.' u thought.
so walking back to the table while trying to figure out how to get home safely was the only option in ur head.
5 minutes in, the restaurant door slams open and there stands the one and only matthew sturniolo.
he walks over to your table and places the helmet he had in his hand on ur head saying 'we are leaving, let's go.'
jason tried to stop u from standing up but failed miserably when matt turned to him.
"if you get one inch closer to her, or one inch closer to me, i will END you, got that understood?" he rolled his eyes walking away with you behind him.
'why was that so.....attractive?' was the first thing that came to your mind.
you get on his bike and he drives you home, comforting you by rubbing ur legs the whole ride.
arriving to your place, you invite him in and you both start talking.
when all of a sudden you said
"yk what? i'm- i'm so sorry, like, it's a friday night and i just, took you away from whatever you were doing, like i'm just so sorry and like i should have just waited and i could have called my brother again-"
"shut up" he interrupted you.
"excuse me?"
"shut up... so do you wanna know what i was doing?"
"yeah." you answered his question.
"i had a bunch of friends over."
"oh my god i'm so s-"
"shut up!" matt interrupts you once again.
"...i saw your text, i saw you felt unsafe, i saw you needed me, i grabbed my helmet, i grabbed my keys and i left, i didn't say anything i just left, i just got on my bike and i got to you... because i will choose you over everyone else, every time!"
"...what?" was the only thing that came out of your mouth due to how speechless you were.
he began stepping towards you and leaning in.
"what are you- what are you saying?" you asked.
" i will choose you."
"okay, but what about my brother?" you thought he was going to say your brother was more worth it than u.
"over your brother every time."
"what does this mean?" you stupidly asked.
"i'll show you what it means." matt leans in, giving you the slightest peck ever.
"but we'll talk about it, on a different night when you didn't just come back from a shit date." he winks saying 'goodnight' before walking out the house leaving you standing there against the wall speechless as hell, thinking about what just happend when nate came into the house.
"what the fuck just happend?"
______________
OKAYY HOW WAS IT?
sorry if there are spelling mistakes, not proofread as i said at the start!
make sure to eat and drink enough today!!
thank you for reading and i hope you have/had a good day!

aaa i loved ur headcanons of the guys making MC feel better !! do you think you can do some more for sho and alan please 🙇🏻‍♀️
Ahhh! Thank you so much! I'm so happy when you guys like my work! And I'd be happy to write for Alan and Sho! I'll be doing the same prompt just an FYI!
ALAN MIDO
Alan is a little dense in some areas let's be honest, but he means well. I think if he messed up then Alan would be the kind to apologize once and maybe do a few small things to smooth things over. Specifically I think he would fix something for MC. Even if he's clueless with tech, he can fix cars so I'm sure he can fix other things. He seems like a tinkering kind of guy. (A DRABBLE FOR CAPTAIN MY CAPTAIN!)
Alan knew that MC had been upset recently, and despite how they tried to hide it, he knew he didn't help what was upsetting them. When MC left Darkwick Academy for the day, he grabbed his tools and went to the cathedral that was their dorm. After a little bit of looking he spotted a few appliances in the kitchen, and with a little bit more snooping he figured out that the sink was clogged and that the toaster didn't pop up all the way. He grabbed his tools and immediately got to work. It didn't take him long to fix both problems. He considered trying to text them that he had been there and fixed a few things.....but he decided a note would be easier for him. He placed it on their door and made sure their door was closed before going back to Vagastrom. The note read,
"Your sink was clogged and your toaster lever was stuck. I took care of it for you, -Alan Mido"
SHOHEI HAIZONO "SHO"
We all know Sho would cook for MC if he made them upset. The real question is what he would cook and how he would give it to them. I think he'd make something simple as an apology. Something like comfort food. He would make a batch and put it into to go containers and hand deliver it to them to eat together.
Sho looked down st the bag in his hand, brushing a hand through his hair before sighing. He knocked at the cathedral door, waiting for MC to answer. Once they did. He scratched the back of his head, holding up the bag, saying,
"Look i know you were pissed at me...so I made us some dinner, what do you say?"
MC blinked, surprised at him, but let him in. They walked him to their 'dining room' and pulled up a chair for each of them. He put the food down and popped open the containers. The amazing smell alone was almost enough to forgive Sho. But the deal was sealed when Sho handed them a utensil and they took the first bite. It was the most amazing thing they'd ever had. The way MC smiled as they ate made Sho sure, that in the end, it was worth it.

I walk over to Theo, passing by drunken teenagers either making out or snorting cocaine. The strobe lights hit his face, bringing his bright eyes out every now and again as he looks up at me.
“Hey,” he says as I come to sit next to him on the sofa in the dark corner.
“Hey.” I reply back looking towards his book, “What are you reading?”
“Bukawoski,” he responded plainly, dog-earing the book and putting it aside to direct his full attention to me.
“Bukawoski? A muggle writer?” I ask in surprise “What possessed your pureblood mind to read that?”
He shrugs and answers, “I heard you and that curly-haired girl over there talking about it one time at dinner and I thought I’d see what all the nonsense was about.”
“Oh yeah? And how are you finding it?” I ask, a grin creeping up to my lips.
“Love is a dog from hell is pretty good. Bloody questionable, no doubt but good.” He says staring down at my lips from time to time.
We sit in silence for a moment, observing each other as the music played in the background until his strong unwavering gaze becomes too much for me and I break away and try to talk about something.
“So how was the match? Had fun losing?” I smirk at him and see his soft smile becoming a frown but I could see the tiniest sliver of a smile under it.
“Shut the fuck up, we didn’t have enough time for warm-ups and it was bloody freezing.” he complains whiningly which sends me into a burst of creasing laughter.
With a smile on his face, Theo asks me, “What’s so funny?”
I barely manage to get any words out from the laughter that has taken over my body, spreading to Theo’s too.
Our little moment is interrupted by a figure in front of us.
“Hi, care to join the others for a game?”, Cormac grins down at us, making Theo cease his laughter almost immediately and glare up at him.
Before he has the chance to say anything rude I take mine, “Yeah sure, we’d love to.” I smile up at Cormac and grab Theo by the arm dragging him towards the group settled on the carpet with an empty beer bottle in the middle of the circle.
“Ah welcome! Nott, Lestrange, joining us for seven minutes in heaven?” Ron asks from his place on the carpet.
“I don’t think I have much of a choice Weasley.” Theo jokes with Ron. Or at least I think it’s a joke. Whatever, at least they’re not bruising each other right now.
Though if Theo’s looks could kill, Cormac would’ve been six feet under by now…
“Okay, I’m going first!” Ginny Weasley says and spins the bottle making it turn a few times before landing on…Harry.
“No. Absolutely not. Ginny go back to your dorm, I’m not having this.” Ron says strictly before passing the bottle to me.
I spin it as Ginny grumbles and goes to another corner of the room being closely followed by Harry, away from Ron’s sights for once. Theo seems to catch my gaze and smiles softly.
“Oh now won’t you look at that, it was almost Gryffindor and Slytherin but I guess the choosing hat’s powers radiate all the way here.” Ron jokes as the bottle nearly lands on Theo, erupting butterflies in my tummy until they all fall down again when the bottle finally lands on Cormac.
Lord please no.
I stay in my position on the carpet, refusing to look at Cormac’s disturbingly growing grin and reach for Theo’s hand instead.
“Oh, Y/N I completely forgot about our detention with Flitwick from the other day, we’d better be going now.” Theo says as he pretends to check his watch, pulls me up and sarcastically smiles at Cormac before saying, “Sorry mate.”
We make it out of the common room easily, thank God, and I have a million thanks for Theo but a question still remains.
“Why did you do that?” I say plainly as we start walking and Theo pulls out a cigarette, putting it between his pink lips and reaching for a lighter in his pocket.
“No reason,” he mumbles through his teeth as the cold autumn air hits our faces.
“You sure? You’d normally just walk out. No explanation.”
“Well,” he begins, looking at me for a second before taking a drag of his cigarette and breathing it out, “I would. But you wouldn’t, and if I just pulled you up with no explanation then the others might think something else. And anyway I can’t stand seeing you with that bastard.” he says frowning to himself.
“Oh yeah?” I smirk at him, “Why’s that?”
“Not good enough for you.”
“Then what is good enough for me Theo?” I say as we enter the castle again and walk into a deserted, dark hallway.
He says nothing but brushes his hand with mine before pausing and offering me a drag from his cigarette. “Mm, no, I like my lungs, thanks.”
“Suit yourself.” he shrugs and as he puts the cigarette back in his mouth the sleeve of his shirt lifts a bit showing his soft skin tainted with something…black?
“What’s that?” I ask, taking my hands out of my pockets and point to his arm quickly.
He pulls his sleeve back down as quickly as he can and mumbles a quick ‘nothing’, looking panicked and anxious all of a sudden.
“Theo? Are you okay? I’m sorry I shouldn’t have asked.” I apologise and regardless of his “No don’t worry lovie you don’t need to apologise"s, I still feel unsure and try to reach out for him but he flinches away before I can say anything.
“M’sorry I just- I have to go. I’ll um, I’ll see you tomorrow.” he says quickly and strides off to the Slytherin common room. As he was mumbling this, I had a chance to asses his behaviour. Rather than the cool, calm and nonchalant Theo that I’m used to, I saw the glassy-eyed, apprehensive and slightly vulnerable Theo.
What was that?

theo’s pov
“Well, good morning to you too,” Draco says to me, smiling as I harshly drop my bag down on the breakfast table.
“What’s wrong with you?” Pansy asks, before putting a spoonful of cereal in her mouth.
I sigh before answering, “I’ve got potions first period.”
“...And that’s bad because…?” Blaise drags out, looking at me in curiosity.
“Because she’s there and the Yule Ball’s coming up, and I should’ve asked her earlier but I didn’t, and now that that bloody git Cormac’s probably going to go with her.”
My short rant left the table in silence for a moment before Pansy replied,
“Don’t worry about it Theo, even if she is going with Cormac I’m pretty sure she’s not going to have much fun with him.”
“Yeah no for real, guy’s a fucking pussy.” Blaise agrees, having had many classes with him before.
We get into our nonsensical chatter until the bell rings and everyone starts clearing off to lessons and I hold Draco back by his elbow before he moves off and whisper nervously to him, “What if she sees it?”
“Sees what?” he says with furrowed brows, making me roll my eyes and point to my forearm saying, “What if she sees it.”
Draco looks down at my covered arm and looks at his and says, “Don’t worry mate, we’ll be fine.”, smiles and moves off.
“Thanks for the reassurance mate,” I say after him as we walk together with Blaise to our classes, them to dark arts and me to potions.
“Trust me I know, she’s my cousin after all.” Draco smiles before Blaise nods to my class door, “Make sure you ask her.”
I enter the room and looking up towards my seat I can see Y/N smiling and waving excitedly at me, as I get closer I wave back reciprocating her enthusiasm.
“How come you’re so happy on a Monday morning?” I ask as I place my books down and take my seat.
“Look what I made for you,” she says as she pulls out a silver ring with stars engraved on the sides with both our initials, “I always see you wearing that one ring on your hand so I thought I’d make you another for the other hand. And you like astrology a lot so I thought I’d put some stars on it or something I don’t know. Do you like it?”
My heart skips a beat and blood rushes to my ears and cheeks as I sit there stunned as she looks back at me expectantly.
“No ones given me a present before.” I say quietly and meet her eyes getting softer by my words.
“What? Like ever?” she asks as she tilts her head slightly to the right in question.
God this girl’s gonna be the death of me.
“No uhm,” I clear my throat before continuing, “My mother used to give me loads, you know for my birthday or Christmas or whatever but after she uhm…” I take a pause, trying to collect my emotions and reach out for the ring in her soft hands, “I don’t really get that many any more, my dad’s not really big on presents or anything.” I try to block out the thought of him and look up at the gorgeous girl in front of me but the look in her eyes breaks me more than my father ever could.
“Don’t worry Teddy, we’re friends now so you’re getting showered in presents starting with this one.
Now show me your homework, I need to copy it before he comes around to check.” she says as she takes my books and starts copying out my work, leaving me stunned by her words.
Friends.
I look down at the small piece of jewellery between my fingers and slip it on with a small smile on my face.
I’m so fucked.

Hi! Hope ur doing ok
first things first, I read ur rules, and does it mean u don't write for Mihawk or Law at all?
secondly, I'd like to request something angst for Sir crocodile x fem! reader, like his lover dies from a disease or they get separated by the Marines something like that, I'm a sucker for the heavy angst stuff yk🗿
my first time asking so I hope i did right, aaand feel free to ignore if ur not ok w it! Thanks!
Heya! I actually did this already and tried posting it but something went wrong and now I had to rewrite the whole thing:’)
And to answer your question I unfortunately don’t write for either, I don’t really know both of them much and bc of that I don’t know how to write em. Maybe in the future I’ll get to know them more and write for them!
Anyways I’m pretty bad at angst so I apologize if croco here’s a bit OC but aside from that hope you enjoy!:)
(Sorry if it’s bad I suck at angst)
Sir Crocodile x Sick!dying!reader
Tumblr media
Crocodile would do anything for you. Heck if he could give you the world he would.
So when he discovered that your life was in the line by a deadly and unknown disease, he tried his best to find a cure.
At first though, he actually didn’t really pay attention to you being sick, he did take care of you but he didn’t really pay much attention to it and figured it would go away soon and you’d be back on your feet soon. But when he got proved wrong, he immediately took action and tried his best to find a cure.
He searched far and wide for one along with Daz but nothing seemed to work. Until he got told that someone else from far away supposedly had a cure he immediately took you with him on the journey
Daz knew how much his boss meant to you and you for him, so he tried his best to help him. He would be lying if he said that he didn’t grow attached to you.
You didn’t know what to do. You didn’t wanna die, not yet atleast. You wanted to help crocodile in every way you could. Si you happily and obediently went with him every where he went to try to find a cure.
You weren’t feeling good at all, it fel like you could pass out any second. But you tried your best to hold on, for him.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to last long. Hallway through the journey, you fell asleep against crocodiles chest and never woke up.
When crocodile tried to shake you up, his eyes filled with worry once he felt your body losing warmth. He tried everything he knew to try to get you to wake up by some miracle. But even he knew it was too late.
For the next few days, he didn’t eat, didn’t sleep or do anything
He didn’t see the point to.
He didn’t really show it but he loved you with every bone in his body, if he could take every ounce of pain you had ever felt while being sick, he wouldn’t hesitate.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t work like that. Which is why he’s standing infront of your lifeless body with nothing but a broken heart.
You promised to be there when he got revenge on the straw hats. You promised you’d always be there. But yet you weren’t there, only him.
You tried to hang on, you really did, but it was useless.
Daz knew how hurt his boss was after your death. He himself shed a few tears but he knew they had to get back on their feet soon or else they’d end up like you, He knew you wouldn’t want that and the last thing he didn’t want to do was disappoint you. So he tried his best to get crocodile back up on his feet
Not only for themselves, but for you

Group project
It was a mistake
You knew you shouldn’t have tried something new. Shouldn’t have gotten out of your comfort zone, it never leads to anything good.
You were practically running down the stairs, trying to escape whatever the fuck that club was. Why’d you have to be curious about VAMPIRES out of all things? Why not butterflies, or flowers? No. It had to be blood sucking vampires and u had to join a club with a bunch of fanatics who won’t stfu and are too graphic about how to kill a vampire. Especially that blondey monoma , Fucking creep. He made u so uncomfortable that u just ran out the minute he started talking. The details made queasy and light headed. You felt as if you lungs were gonna pop you were breathing so hard, when you got out of the club and onto campus, you realise your frantic breathing wouldn’t stop, tears were running down your face, everything was spinning and you were scared.
What was happening? Why does it hurt so much? Why can’t you breathe??Are you having a panic attack right now?
These questions didn’t help you calm down and you felt as if you were gonna pass out so you found a nearby bench to sit on and closed your eyes, trying to get your breathing to settle. Not a minute later u hear a very tired but worried voice say, “Hey…are you ok?”
You look up to see droopy half lidded purple eyes with eye bags that can rival a science major. His indigo hair was unruly and you recognised it somwhere…
“Hey! Can you hear me, are you ok?” Repeated the purple haired boy. You finally focused on him and shook your head. He came closer and put a hand on your shoulder, crouched down and looked into your eyes, “ Answer me with your words this time. Are you ok?”
Struggling to even move you push the word no out in a desperate and clumsy manner.
“Calm down and breathe slowly “
Suddenly, it all stopped, your breathing slowed and the tears stopped, you were fine but it felt strange, like someone pressed the off button and you were kinda sleepy. “You feeling better?”
The boy was staring at u the whole time, he looked slightly relieved.
“Yeah I’m ok thanks, how’d you do that?”
His eyes widened and a slight smirk broke his neutral expression “I didn’t think you’d notice. It’s my quirk, brainwash” he said offering you a hand. You took it, tucking That new information somewhere in ur brain. When you got up u nearly hit the floor again your legs were so wobbly
“Hey be careful! My quirk doesn’t deal with the aftermath”, the purple crayon said(I got tired) while grabbing your elbow and hip to steady you.You guys were standing fairly close in this position and it gave you time to figure out where U know him from. U also took this time to take in all the features u missed. He had dimple when he smiled and unusually sharp canines, his hair was indigo yes but there was a few different shades of purple In his hair aswell, small segments of lavender and violet making beautiful patterns of highlights. His eyes were quite unique as well, while purple wasn’t an unusual colour these days due to quirks, his had a thin sheen of red and his pupils were thinned out, like an angry cat. By the time he started getting uncomfortable with u staring it clicked.
“Allcock”, U blurted out.
His whole face went through 4 different emotions but he soon had a neutral expression with an eyebrow raised.
“What did u just say?” He asked with an amused glimmer in his eyes.
Blushing, realising what u just said, you give him a sheepish smile, “professor allcock, we take the same philosophy class.”
“Oh”
“Yeah I recognised u by ur hair, I actually didn’t know u had a Face”
His eyes widened and he tipped his head back in laughter.
“Really?I didn’t realise. I normally just record what the prof is saying on my computer. Speaking of class, what are you doing here? Class is in”-he checks his watch-“4 hours.”
You stand there in silence, mulling over whether U should tell him or not you should tell him the truth. You close your eyes and decide to come clean, “I’ve recently been interested in vampires and there’s a club on campus that specialises in vampires so I wanted to check it out but they were way too graphic and made me very uncomfortable so I ran out and then I-“
“Hey, hey, breath ok? We don’t want another panic attack on our hands do we?” He says with a reassuring yet playful smile.
You nod embarrassed, trying to catch your breathe.
After your breathing is normal you realise it’s gotten a silent. Awkward silent. While u were looking for ways to fix it, he beat u too it, breaking the silence with, “Tell you what, If u be my partner for the next philosophy project, I’ll tell u what you need to know about vampires.”
You look at him suspiciously, “what do you know about vampires?”
He looks around him to see if there was anyone around before smirking and coming closer to your face.
He bends down a little and opens his mouth, u stare in confusion then amazement as he makes his canines sharper and hollow. You look at his eyes and that red sheen starts glowing brighter and brighter until his irises are no longer seen. Your eyes go wide and u gasp, “You’re a-a-!”He quickly puts his hand over your mouth before bringing a finger to his grinning one with a wink.
“So how about it huh? Do we have a deal?”
Still in shock you nod your head yes. He smiles wider before asking you for your phone, you absentmindedly take it out and unlock it for him. As he taps away you can’t but feel like your dreaming.
He’s a vampire, I love vampires! They’re so cool. Oh my god, I’m gonna do my project with a real life vamp-
A notification from his phone interrupts your thoughts and he hands your phone back to you
“There. See u in class!” He says with a wave and turns around, walking away.
You wave back before looking down at your phone and rolling your eyes at what he saves himself as:
‘Cool vampire dude’
You assumed the notification from his phone was a text he sent himself so you checked, you were right but this time the message made you smile fondly;
‘💜💜💜’

Weird question and also no pressure to answer this at all!! But uhh i was wondering if like u and firesnap and all those ppl youve gone to lovejoy gigs were like irls or like... hm how do i phrase this
Ig what I'm trying to say is, how did you meetup safely with someone you met online?
Because I have someone I trust with my life, like I've literally given them . Probably too much information about me shfngkfk but the thought of meeting up with them, while i absolutely want to. So so badly. It's also... really scary now that im thinking about seriously?
Ive actually met up w someone online before and we did it super safely but that was bc they were already visiting close to where i lived so their plans didnt Rely on that. But this would be me flying to where they live, solely to meetup with them. And that thought is terrifying and . Yeah sorry if this is a weird ask shfkf i just thought that since youve (possibly?) done it before that it might be a good place to ask. But if this is like weird or too heavy or anything then uh dont answer!! Shfkgk help im so awkward at this and am maybe regretting this but im also literally not sure who else to ask so 😭😭
But also i recognize that ur literally just here for fic n stuff so i dont wanna put any pressure on u!!
Im so sorry if this made you uncomfy, pls just delete this from ur inbox if it did FHFJFK
this is a really good question, I don't mind answering it at all! I'd say when you're meeting up with an online friend irl, you have to consider specific details to figure out the safest way to go about it
firstly, if you're a minor you need to be extra cautious. this isn't to say you turn 18 and you're magically safe now, but as a minor you are much more likely to be targeted by creeps wanting to meet up with you irl.
when I've met internet friends irl, I've done it in a few different ways. by far the dumbest and riskiest way I ever met a friend that turned out fine but I look back at and cringe on was when I was 19 and I straight up just drove to a friend's house (she was 27 at the time for reference) when I found out she lived an hour away from me. I'd never met her in person before but we'd been talking for several months and I'd seen pictures of her, but just straight up going to a stranger's house was really stupid on my end. I sent the address to my mom before I left along with my friend's name and number so I took some precautions, but still that was very risky. it turned out totally fine and she's still a really close friend of mine to this day, but yeah uhh don't do that unless you're REALLY confident in whoever you're meeting up with
as for my more recent meetups, I met roxy eli and meri for the first time last year when we all agreed to go to twitchcon san diego together (though actually I'd met meri a month before bc they happened to be visiting a city close to me for a few days, so I drove over and picked them up at their airbnb and we got dinner it was very fun). for me I was the least at risk with twitchcon because I'm from southern california, so if things got weird I literally could've just driven home. it was more risky on roxy, eli, and meri's ends because they all had to fly out for the trip. it helped though that we were all staying at an airbnb instead of someone's house. we'd all seen plenty of pictures of each other at that point, and we were all in our 20s so I think that's why we all felt more comfortable with it as well, but no matter what meeting up with people you meet online carries a level of risk to it
firesnap was one of the least risky meetups I've done lol. she had an extra ticket to see lovejoy in NY, I already had been planning a trip to new york to visit a childhood friend of mine who lived there, so we just met up while I was over there. I stayed at my friend's place, firesnap had her own hotel, and we just met up at the lovejoy venue and hung out in the queue all day. that was easy because I had my own place I was staying at, firesnap her own place she was staying, we weren't relying on each other for any of that so if something had been weird we both would've been able to dip. so I was far less cautious with that one and didn't even see a picture of firesnap until literally the day before we met up
overall, I think if you want to fly out solely to meet a friend, you need to take a few steps to make sure you're safe. first off, see if you can do a video call with them at one point to confirm that your friend is really who they say they are. get their real name, phone number, and address and give it to someone you know so if things go wrong someone knows where you are. and when you fly out, make sure you have a backup plan to get out if things get weird. see if you have any family or friends you've already met in person that live nearby who can get you if things aren't feeling right, and if not, find a hotel near where your friend lives and make sure you have enough money to stay at it in case of an emergency. and if your phone has a tracking ability on it (like find my iphone) make sure someone you know has access to that. keep your irls updated on where you are and what you're doing, and if you're really paranoid, establish a safeword that you can text family or friends back home to let them know something has gone wrong and you need help.
I hope that helps! just take precautions and always make sure you have a way to get out if you need. communicate with people you know back home and have a plan in place with them so they can help you get out if you need. but I'm sure you'll have a good time. I've had a great time meeting up with online friends so I'm hoping you have the same luck!

thank u for the tag keeb @vroombeams <3
Who is your favorite driver? Toss up between George and Oscar, depending on the day, vibes, and how many posts from Mark or Rosie i have recently read
Do you have other favorite drivers? i am known to enjoy logan-posting, and i always cheer for yuki points!! ill also say alex and lewis are up there
Who is your least favorite driver? obvious question to anyone who asks me. verstappen #1 (im enough of a hater to not realise that mv00 was meant as an insult as his championship, and not just what ppl would write to avoid using his name), and i am a respectful hater for norris, i keep it to myself and a specific whatsapp chat w someone
Do you pull for drivers or do you like teams as well? i am more of a fan of drivers than teams, but i do appreciate the legacies and histories of the constructors on the grid, as well as the camradery of everyone on track! love watching teams celebrate wins/points etc together
If you like teams, what team do you pull for? i am a fan of the more historical side of f1, so i am nostalgic for williams (even tho i wasnt even watching and/or alive lmao), but i will say if i buy official team merch it'll probably be merc stuff
How long have you been into F1? i've always been vaguely aware of it, but i first rly learnt abt it mid 2021, and then the first race i watched live was COTA 2021 (rip why did i miss half the best season ever for like 0 reason)
What got you into F1? if we're being hyperspecific, the trailer for DTS that had grosjean's crash from Bahrain 2020 - i decided to watch Telly during a holiday in like. march, and was scrolling netflix and saw a massive explosion and went 'oh SICK', and accidentally watched all of that season of DTS in one day. i then spent the next like 2 months just watching youtube videos abt f1 and went 'no i cant be obsessed w cars going around in circles' and voila. we're here
Do you enjoy Fanfic/RPF? as with the way i enjoy any piece of media, i read fanfiction before actually consuming the source material, so to answer the question: yes (i've stopped reading it much nowadays, just a few stories ive been long time subbed to cough jeddah george cough)
How do you view new fans? love to chat w them, and figure out how much they know! (in a fun 'omg ur into my fav topic' kind of way, not a 'list every race winner since 1950' kind of way). i was a new fan rather recently, so i remind myself of that whenever i eyeroll at a bad take on twitter.
If you could take over as team principal for any team, who would it be and why? redbull and sabotage the Hell out of the team. also earn some nice cash at the same time.
Are your friends and family into F1 as well? it took me a year and a half of being into f1 to find out that not only did my mum used to watch f1 in the 80s/90s, that my grandfather used to watch f1 WITH her but my UNCLE on the OTHER side of the FAMILY has a SIGNED AUTOGRAPH from SENNA that was sent off like a week before he DIED. i thought i was ALONE in my enjoyment GENUINELY.
i also got many of my friends into f1, and have made new friends both irl and online through shared love of it, so u know. Skillz.
Are you open to talking to other fans/making friends? uh ALWAYS. as i just said, i have made many a friend this way, and its just fun to talk abt the sport w other ppl, esp when they have different opinions to u!!
anyways looong post and i shall tag (w/ no pressure): @toilethamster @russilton @ininininininstayoutstayout @georgierre @gayorphandepression :D

okay I’ve been wanting to ask you stuff for ur…ask game things but I genuinely cannot find the post to know what to ask. does that make sense?
So uh *slams random emojis and numbers on the counter* whatever these will get me.
32??? 1? 12….52?
🐢🧍‍♂️❤️‍🩹💕🤲🤩
I have to at least get one of those right…hopefully.
((also side note I’ve been meaning to say I like ur new username! very nice 👍))
Ember, I tried my very best to find old ask games I reblogged with these emojis, sadly I could not. I found this one for the numbers. I already answered 1 and 32 here. I answer 12 and 52 below and have a few other fun treats for you.
12. How does receiving or not receiving feedback/support help you? Feedback helps me so much. It lets me know that my writing is good and that I’m doing something right. Originally, fanfic was just supposed to be me getting my brain bees™️ out of my head so I could focus. I didn’t expect people to actually enjoy them to such a degree. I mean, I figured someone else who liked TMBS might like them a little, but I did not expect such incredible feedback.
I got a tumblr in September of last year to release my thoughts on TMBS, including my SOS fan theory, but I never intended to write any fic about it, because it was a super specific head canon (and also I'd never even read fanfic before at that point, though I'd heard of the concept), I wasn't sure people would like it, I'd never done any serious creative writing before, and at the time, I had no idea how much season 2 canon would continue to support it's plausibility. But, for better or for worse, eventually I was inspired enough to write the fic. And if you told me in January of this year, before SOS was published, when it was just a little idea in my head that I’d have people drawing fan art based on my fics, doing elaborate analyses call out posts based on my fics (thank you @sophieswundergarten and @itsgoghtime🥰), making a whole personality quiz based on my fic (again thank you Sophie), getting a tumblr to compliment my on my fic and share headcanons, and, the latest of the fandom's beautiful compliments, someone doing a whole podcast episode based on one of my fics (thanks @heyitsthatonesmolgay), I would not have believed you.
This feedback means the world to me, and it's also taught me the importance of leaving feedback on other fics as well. Part of the rational in writing SOS was releasing the thoughts that are inside my head about my hyperfixation, since I'd be thinking about it constantly anyway. Writing it out is certainly more rewarded than daydreaming alone, but it's also more time consuming. Knowing that someone out there is not only listening to what I'm saying, but enjoying it to such a degree lets me know that this is a hobby that's worth the time and energy. Obviously, it's fine to do hobbies only for yourself, I did that for years, but being able to do something you enjoy in such a way that it makes someone else happier and brings joy to someone's life is incredibly rewarding. And if I didn't receive any feedback, I would assume no one was listening. I'd release my ideas into the void to get the brain bees out, and then when the hyperfixation died, I'd just delete them. But now I know that I'm not just talking to the void anymore, I'm talking to a group of people that are invested in the stories I have to share. Feedback on fics lets authors know that they're good at writing, because they might not know it. I certainly never thought so. Sure, I thought my ideas were cool, but has everyone else I've ranted to about mbs irl thought that? Not exactly. So leave feedback on your favorite fics, go crazy about them. Don't burn yourself out, obviously, but trust me, it will not go unappreciated, especially in a smaller fandom.
52. Do you respond to comments why or why not?
I always try to respond with something. They make me so happy; someone took the time out of their day to say they liked my fic, my ideas, and comment or ask questions about them! It’s a great honor, and thank you all for your lovely comments and feedback!
Finally, the emojis you sent didn't correspond to an ask game, however, I do have one little treat I think you'll like.
As you may be aware, I am writing a secret fan fic for Curio's secret fic gift exchange. I can't promise the fic is at the level of my usual work (as you may have suspected from my lack of SOS updates, I've been quite busy), but I shall try my best. However, what I can promise you is that A) more SOS is coming, and B) regardless of who my gift fic is for, it will include a brief reference or mention of the book "The Little Prince", which I know you are a big fan of. Unfortunately, I can't give any more context beyond that.
Oh, and thank you! I'm glad you like the new username!

Happy STS! Since you're on the second draft of ur WIP, how was the progress of the first draft? What are some things you learned during it? What is something you would do differently for your next first draft?
It's so rare to see a writeblr going through revisions and i find your commentary very inspiring. One day i too will be telling myself to leave the sentence be for another draft LOLLL
Oooh I love this question so goddamn much!!! (well, ig it's sort of two? three? questions.) I had so much fun answering this<3333 It was an excellent chance at reflection.
How was the progress of the first draft?
(lol I did not intend for my answer to be this long but it just kept going. But I like the idea of being very transparent about the journey because I hear a lot of nice, summed up "one day I sat down and wrote a novel, the next month I had a manuscript and started querying" stories and I think that can be really invalidating for people for whom the journey isn't that smooth if that is the only narrative you hear.)
I think I came up with the story idea some time in 2019. It was one of those, "princess runs away from an arranged marriage but [redacted due to spoilers]" concepts but at the time I was worldbuilding for other things so I put it aside for later.
About a year later, when I had not made much progress on my other WIPs (due to not having enough worldbuilding ideas to carry a fantasy or sci-fi story and banging my head against a wall trying to think up something I was happy with), I decided, ah what the hell, I'll try this instead.
I picked it because it was a simple concept--an idea fit for a standalone novel on the shorter end, with a fairly small setting and requiring little worldbuilding. It seemed like it would be good practice before I seriously tackled my more ambitious WIPs.
It still took a while to actually get writing. I tried three or four times to make an outline--one was more than 8000 words--and ended up scrapping each of them because when I got to actually writing the scenes I had outlined I found them dry and soulless. I was just going through events that needed to happen but there was no emotion, no humour, no themes, nothing. I tried to write the first chapter once or twice but I started the story too early in the timeline and lost the momentum to keep going. Finally, I wrote a scene somewhere in the middle (the one where Sorin figures out Adris is a girl) and it was the first I was actually happy with. I had fun writing it and then reading it again, and it finally felt like there was some "life" behind the plot I had been failing to outline. I rewrote that scene in both first and third person, decided I liked 1st better, and tried to keep adding to it. Then I had about 3600 words. I wrote another scene near the end (when Isadred and Firnen meet; though I changed this later) and it gave me some direction to work towards.
Then I did not touch the project again for several months.
One day in November of 2021 (NaNoWriMo month but I hadn't heard of it yet) I decided to just go for it and put a bunch of time aside to write like crazy. I started from chapter one and had two rules, 1. Start chapter one as late into the story as possible, and 2. keep it going--don't edit (not even spelling unless it is absolutely critical for me to make sense of later), if I get stuck just jump ahead to the next scene I can write, and if I don't know what happens next just ramble about everything that can't happen until I figure out a situation where that does not apply.
It worked. Really well. The next things I knew (about three weeks in) I had roughly 48 000 words. Some days I was hitting 13-14 000 words per day. Then I took a break because uni and came back to it in April 2022. Same rules, same deal. Suddenly I had 112 572 words.
I got stuck on the ending. I wrote a few scenes but didn't like them. So I figured I would just call it a finished manuscript, put it aside for a while, and come back to it when the time was right.
About two months ago I thought up part of a better ending while in the shower and a few weeks ago, just before I started the second draft I figured out the rest. So I knew it was time and I went back to it.
What are some things you learned during it?
I had a lot of fun. I laughed a lot at the banter and dramatic irony, I highlighted my favourite lines to look back on later, and I left funny comments for myself in the margins. The weird part was that I was not expecting it to be fun at all. I see so much writing content about how hard writing is and how much writers hate it, especially first drafts, and I have done my share of banging my head against a wall (especially in my other WIPs) but, for me at least, it is one thing to get stuck on a plot point, but if I am finding every single new sentence to be a struggle to get down it is probably because my story has not come to life yet. I am writing too much from a place of "hit each plot point in my outline" and not enough from a place of "you know what would be fun/gut-wrenching/shocking/funny/clever/insightful?".
Believe it or not, the middle section was the most fun to write.
I have also come to believe ardently in these commonly touted morsels of advice:
if your story is losing momentum after only a few chapters you either don't know where you are going with it or you have started too far before the inciting incident.
Name your first draft draft zero, garbage draft, word vomit (or in my case, "idk what the FUCK this it looks pretty cool tho"), and just expect utter garbage.
Don't look back, just keep going. You know that thing in improv where they do the "yes, and..." exercise? Do that.
If you are stuck on what happens next, skip that scene and go to the next. There is a chance you may not even need the scene you were stuck on. Long time skips in the same chapter are allowed.
If you don't know what to write just sit down and start rambling. As long as you know what you are trying to write towards, eventually you'll end up there and you can cut the bloat later.
Know your climatic moment before you start--not your ending, but the big final showdown the story is building to. You don't have to know how it resolves (I didn't figure that out until like six weeks ago) but know who is in your final battle and where it takes place.
Don't research. Don't worldbuild. If you need a piece of information you don't have, write [insert type of medieval ship here] and move on.
What is something you would do differently for your next first draft?
I am honestly not sure on this one... I do wish I was a more skilled writer prose-wise because my first drafts would need a lot less editing later on if descriptive, poetic prose came as naturally to me as dialogue and emotional one-liners. But all I can really do for that is keep practicing.
The only other thing I wished I had done from the start was keep a journal, log, or blog of my progress, and save some of the funny comments and [somehow our two romantic leads have to sword fight their way out of a masquerade ball in this scene while dressed to the nines] notes-in-brackets I left in the draft but went back and deleted later once I actually filled out the scene. Hence the existence of this blog now.
One of these days I would also like to develop a proper writing schedule to make more consistent progress throughout the year (instead of the random sprints of activity followed by months of not touching it that I do now). But between the ADHD and the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome I don't know when that will happen.

“Ah, shit!” You curse under your breath. Small droplets of blood are seeping through the cuts on your fingertips. Instinctively you lick the blood away before wiping them off on your jacket.
You're tinkering on an old and rusty piece of metal for the wall. The rain and summer heat weathered down some pieces that you and a few others are repairing now. Michael looks at you from over his shoulder and you cast him a warning glare.
He’s been one of the town's engineers, responsible for the maintenance and expansion of the wall. Your people were not thrilled about having him walking around, but you needed his expertise. While trying to concentrate on your tasks, you keep watching him ever so often from out of the corner of your eyes. Michonne is watching him as well, ready to take action at any moment, walking up and down behind him.
You try to return to your work, but your focus isn't where it should be. Michael is not the only thing disturbing you. Ever since the strange encounter with Negan and Dwight three weeks ago, you are struggling further and further to keep concentrated on the most mundane tasks.
Today it seems to be particularly bad. It’s pickup day again and the constant noise of Negan's minions only contributes to the problem. And the unsettling feeling of their bosses eyes on you doesn't help, either.
Maybe you’re just being paranoid.
You took Negan's warning very seriously. For the last few weeks, you stood under the Saviors radar, being either on a run or staying in your room during their pickups. You figured not crossing paths with any of them would be for the best, knowing your tamper and how easy you are to wind up.
But you were needed today, so you joined the small group on the wall.
A plate with colorless peas and carrots appears to your left, tearing your mind away again. You turn your head to find Carl placing a fork on the wall piece as well.
You smile softly at him. "Thank you, but I've already eaten this morning."
"Lair," Carl scowls at you, however it's lighthearted. "Olivia said you were absent at the food distribution this morning."
You roll your eyes and whisper more to yourself than to him, "Such a telltale."
"Y/N, come on." Carl looks at you with pleading eyes. "You've already skipped meals yesterday."
You consider his request for a moment, before reaching for the plate and fork. "Fine." With a mischievous glint in your eyes, you pull Carl on his arm closer to you. Quickly, you plant a faint kiss on his cheek and he squeals.
“Ew!” Carl wipes his cheek with the sleeve of his pullover. Despite his display of irritation, you can’t keep from huffing a laugh. You’ll never stop annoying your little brother.
“Do you have guard shift later?” He asks you, still rubbing his cheek.
You nod at him. “Yeah, I took the night shift.”
Carl rolls his eyes at you. “That's gonna be the third night in a row.”
“I’m fine, Carl.” You quickly answer his unvoiced question.
“You’re bad at lying and you know that.” He sounds hurt, he hates being lied to and you wonder why you even tried, to him you’re like an open book. In the end, he is just concerned and you love him for that, but you don’t want him to worry.
He knows about your insomnia, but he also knows you well enough not to push it. If you wanted to talk, you would. But he doesn’t like you grinding until you eventually pass out from exhaustion. Wouldn't be the first time for you to do that.
Annoyed, your little brother moves on and back to the pantry, leaving you to your work and late breakfast. After your first bite, you realize just how hungry you’ve been the whole day. With your thoughts all over the place and your hands always working, you simply didn’t notice.
Like on the last days, the ration is small and the food soon disappears from your plate. It’s tasting stale with a faint tang of iron. The can was most likely way past the best before date already. Once finished with your meal, you put the plate to the side again, returning to your work.
A long shadow casts over the metal, making you look up with a crooked eyebrow.
Negan. Of course.
“Uhm… hi?” You greet him with uncertainty in your tone.
The leader of the Saviors leans casually against the table, crossing his arms. “What was that about?”
Confused, you ask, “Sorry?”
He nods at your plate. “Already working on your beach body or why are you not eating?"
“I did eat,” you defend yourself, but Negan keeps looking at you, still waiting for an explanation. After a sigh of defeat, you explain, “We cut down our rations, the last run was pretty much fruitless.”
Although you visited the place beforehand and took all necessary precautions, you could not predict the bad weather and the passing herd of walkers, when you sent a team to loot the area.
“That so?” Negan asks and you nod in comirmation. “Rick didn't mention any shortage whatsoever.”
No shit, you want to say, but you manage to go for a more cautious response, “Of course not. He can’t just ask you to take less, can he?"
Negan lets out a breath through his teeth, “See, sunshine, I’m a reasonable man. You guys starving won’t benefit me in any way. How’s your food rationed at the moment?”
“The kids get two meals a day, adults one.”
The tone of his voice turns surprisingly soft. “And why is it that you don't even eat once a day?”
“So the kids can eat twice.”
Negan rolls his eyes at you. With his tongue between his teeth, he lets his eyes roam over the busy town before they find Michael tinkering at the wall. After a moment they return back to you. “When I ask you, how much the fucker in the cell gets to eat and you tell me it’s more than you do, I’m gonna lose my shit.”
You don’t respond right away, ducking your head. After a short moment, you tell him, “He gets a half ration and has to work if he wants more.”
Negan just shakes his head, muttering a quiet unbelievable under his breath while looking back at the street, “Why are you doing this to yourself, Y/N? For real now.”
“What do you mean?” You ask in confusion.
“You're running yourself to the ground for these useless shitheads here and for what? I can see the dark circles under your eyes from the other end of the town.”
Tiredly, you lean against the table as well. “Yeah, well…” You don’t know where to start and if you should be talking to him at all. But he seems genuinely pissed about your current situation.
Eventually you tell him, “Let’s say the incident with Dwight had more repercussions than expected. Turns out people will assume you to be absolutely badshit, when being covered in blood ‘n gore and laughing, while being held at knifepoint.”
Negan has to chuckle at that, “Not gonna lie, I would have paid good money to see that. You actually scared the living shit out of some of my men.”
You can’t deny the feeling of pride blooming in your chest and you smile slightly at your boots. After a moment you look up at him again. “Well, Saviors and Alexandrians both."
Negan's smile vanishes, instead his brows move into a frown. "Are they giving you shit for it?"
You shrugs with your shoulders before you explain the situation, "You know about the stupid interviews we had. Later that night, Alexandria held a trial, debating if and who could stay. Take a guess who they deemed too unstable to keep around. Long story short, I was allowed to stay, thanks to my pharmaceutical background. Many eventually came around but some never accepted me and remained wary. The thing with Dwight only reaffirmed their previous perception of me… lost a few nights over that.”
Insomnia has always been a constant travel companion, ever since the outbreak, but it’s nothing you can’t deal with, most of the time you find something to do, taking your mind off whatever was haunting you. But it still stinged having some Alexandrians going back to the old pattern of avoiding you.
“And you think starving will put you back in their good grace?” Negan asks.
You shrug your shoulders again, watching the activities at the pantry. “Honestly, I don’t care if people here like me or not, Negan. I just want my people and family safe.”
“Fine, let’s be honest for a second,” Negan's serious tone makes you look up at him again, “This here, what you are doing, that’s not being selfless or shit, that’s being stupid. Have they ever thanked you, acknowledged they only have food because of you?”
You cross your arms and look around the street. “Some…”
“Some,” He repeats with venom in his voice. “You’re the last person in this goddamn community who should deal with all this shit, yet you do the fucking most.”
It feels good to hear someone say that. Most of the time, it feels like the town takes you and your work for granted. But what’s the alternative, everyone starving, because you don’t feel like helping anymore? “It’s not like I have a choice.”
Negan looks at you with a lopsided grin, “And what if you had? Just sayin’, in The Sanctuary no one would ever dare to treat you like this.”
The what? Confused, you look up at him and open your mouth to ask what he’s talking about, but he continues, “Know what? Good thing we’re having this conversation, cause I’d like to propose something to you."
You look up at him, waiting for whatever he came up with now.
“I want you to work for me.”
You raise a brow in return, “Don’t I already?”
Negan’s grin splits wider, “As Alexandria's scout, sure, but I mean as a Savior.”
You blink at Negan a few times, your mouth agape and mind running wild. Unable to process what’s happening, you just stay silent, dumbfounded.
“These people might not notice your devotion but I sure as hell do.”
After another moment, you snap out of your shocked state. All you can do is to mumble, “Why?”
“Like I said, I like you. So much so that I offer you a way out of this sorry ass community, God knows you deserve a promotion for the fucking truck load of shit you gatherd for me.”
You can’t deny that you feel flattered.
But you can’t bring yourself to take the offer. While Negan seems to be stable most of the time, you know his short temper and his men are not better in any way. You wanted to leave your group twice already and almost did once, but you just can’t leave them behind now. Not for them.
“I’m sorry, Negan, but I have to decline.” You tell him, nervous about how he’s gonna take your rejection.
“Too bad,” He sighs and you believe to catch disappointment flashing in his eyes. “I think the two of us would make a fucking awsome team.”
You smile slightly at him and when he meets your eyes, he does the same. “Think about it, sunshine, there is nothing for you to lose, only to gain.”
And with that he pushes himself from the table and makes his way towards the trucks at the gate. You look after him for a few moments, before turning back to your work.
Somehow you can't stop wondering whether he likes you as an asset, a minion. Or you as a person. It should be wrong to hope for it to be the latter, but you can’t help yourself. Negan can be charismatic if he wants to, something you actually like about him and that’s dangerous territory.
While interacting with him was creepy at first and to be fair, it still is kind of off putting most of the time, he actually does seem to care to some degree. He was definitely and genuinely pissed about your current situation.
Maybe he isn’t as evil as we all think?
"Y/N, I could use a hand!" Michonne calls you, effectively pulling you away from your thoughts. Better not dwell on that, you think to yourself and get moving.
Negan walks over to his men to overlook this week's goods. Simon’s awaiting him with a knowing smile. “Got a soft spot for the crazy one, huh, boss?”
Negan narrows his eyes at him, “Another word and hang you on the fence by your dick.”
The boss didn’t expect you to actually say yes right away, he believes to able to predict you at least to some extent, but he wasn’t expecting such a quick no either.
But he is nothing if not determined and in the end Negan always gets what he wants.

ok. after looking deep within myself i figured it out. bestie i tried so hard to do a different topic but now i’m craving a part 2 😩. this time task force shows up scarred and scared cause duh. L is there at his desk thank God but oh? mystery girlfriend who’s first impression was an ✨interesting✨ one is lounging on the couch just there chilling maybe book reading (was gonna say candy crush but i remembered this was 2006 so i’m gonna shut up) and insert [and she looks at me and i look at him audio] cause now task force inner dialogue is “how the fuck did L achieve this” and can’t stop analyzing her because genuinely what the fuck 🥲. girlfriend sees the lack of work getting done and L is annoyed at their loud ass thinking thoughts so she allows them to have one question each (please feel free to come up with the questions i beg my creativity only takes me so far 🥲🥲) i do ask though for one of them (maybe matsuda??) asking the out of pocket question about el incident. surprisingly you can make this work sfw but if you can somehow find a way to fit the “n” then go right ahead. my thoughts are jumbled but i know you’ll find a way to make it a coherent story. i pay with infinite love and kisses 😌☝️❤️
🐢| gRR this took too long im so sorry bestie💔💔💔💔 here is ur story i hope u like it<33 ngl yn is a little arrogant LMFAO
🥝| link to part one <33
🌱|also this sucks pls forgive me pls
Tumblr media
It had been around 36 hours since the incident with L- who still didn't seem to want to acknowledge that it happened to begin with. The task force members had shown up to headquarters once more, albeit rather cautiously this time- creeping in an almost nervous manner through the bulletproof doors, listening carefully and quietly for any out of the ordinary sounds. Even Matsuda refrained from his usual griping to make sure the coast was clear- neither of them wanted a repeat of the last time.
Luckily, the men's fears were eased when they finally got up the guts to enter the front room where L always was when they arrived- well, almost always. There, crouched in his swivel chair and holding his knees, sat L, peering at the group as if he'd been watching them for some time already.
"Hello- let's get down to business, shall we?" L greeted the group nonchalantly before turning to face the computer monitors spread along the surface of the desk. If he had any thoughts about the other day, he wasn't showing it- which the men had pretty much expected.
Light, seeming slightly on edge himself, nodded resolutely and stepped up to L's side. "Right. So we had just started to look into Yotsu-"
He cut himself off when he turned his head and saw you, sitting on the couch behind him and reading a book, paying absolutely no mind to your surroundings. L tilted his head strangely at Light before turning to follow his gaze, and your eyes lifted from the pages of your book to meet his before they locked with Light's.
The rest of the task force noticed you just after Light did- Matsuda gaping at you a little longer than was necessary. Too soon, they had recalled just who you were.
You let out a low, rueful chuckle under your breath- so they remembered you. Smiling some to yourself, you lifted your head to look at the task force members in turn.
"Hey."
Light cocked his head at you, an unreadable expression on his face, before facing L again. "You didn't tell us you'd invited a friend, Ryuzaki."
L's back was to you as he replied, tone flat. "Ah. Yes, that's Y/N; she'll be with us for the time being- mind that that isn't her real name. Y/N, this is Light Yagami."
Light nodded at you. "It's a pleasure to meet you."
"The pleasure is mine," you answered automatically, no longer looking at anyone directly and focus returning to your book. For a little while after the somewhat "off" greeting, there was a few seconds of awkward silence before the others remembered to introduce themselves properly; various mumbled "hellos" came from the rest of the task force.
It was clear to you, and most definitely L, that the task force with the probable exception of Light behaved oddly around you, despite that all you were doing was reading. Both you and L knew it was more than likely the incident from the other day that prompted them to sort of tiptoe around you. Both you and L could read them like an open book- it was painfully obvious they were full of questions. While you weren't in the mood to pretend to want to speak with these men you didn't know, you felt even less like having them stare at you the entire day. And besides, it was only hurting them- besides Light and L, the men didn't really seem to be contributing much to the operation at the moment.
Feeling increasingly like you were being watched, you opened your mouth to say something- but L ended up beating you to it.
"Judging by your confused expressions, I'm assuming you all have questions about Y/N's presence."
Aizawa, eyeing you, seemed apologetic, but did not waver as he spoke. "It's just that this is a total stranger to us- there aren't a lot of people we can trust right now, Ryuzaki. It would just be nice if we had a little more information."
So they felt the same way about you that you did about them. Somehow, that was a little amusing.
"I have to agree with Aizawa," Soichiro added, sending a sideways look towards you from behind his glasses. "You may know her, but we don't. What purpose does she serve? Will she be here regularly? How close-"
Your annoyance growing, you had to cut in, now fully lifting your head to look directly at the task force members. "Hey- I'm right here, you know," you interrupted a little testily, making Soichiro, Aizawa, and Matsuda all turn to look at you. "Feel free to ask me these things at any time instead of talking to L- Ryuzaki like I'm not here."
You didn't get a verbal response in return; the men only regarding you with slight suspicion before glancing at each other and then L as if waiting for him to back them up. But L seemed uninterested in the issue, only lifting a hand to silence everyone, his eyes still focused intently on the monitors before him.
"Y/N is right," L mumbled in a low voice, a pale thumb in between his teeth. "If you want to know who she is, why don't you ask her yourself?"
You nodded, fixing each of the men with a pointed stare. "Yes- why don't we do that. Just to ease the tension." You set down your book on the sofa and straightened up, slipping your necklace with L's initial beneath your shirt. "You can each ask me one question- whatever you want. That way, you'll know I'm not hiding anything. However- try and keep your questions impersonal; there are things I'm unable to share with you."
Of course, the last remark was just for show. If you were asked anything you didn't want to answer, you'd simply lie. Perhaps then you'd get the men, mainly Soichiro and Aizawa, off your back- you weren't much fond of feeling like an outsider around someone you'd known for far longer than anyone in the task force. Besides, your ego was taking a couple of hits- and you couldn't have that.
There was a brief moment of silence as the others thought your offer over. But Soichiro, anxious to get back on task, lifted both of his hands in front of his face in a surrendering gesture. "No, no- there's no need for that. If Ryuzaki trusts you, then-"
"No, it's too late now. You've made your feelings towards me clear. I only want to see if I can change them." Smiling brightly, albeit insincerely, you placed your hands on your knees in a friendly position. "Since you're talking- why don't you go first?"
Soichiro blinked at you, surprised at your audacity, before asking his question. "Well, I suppose I'll start with the basics. Will you be working with us on the Kira investigation?"
You answered immediately; the quicker your answers, the less suspicion. "Doubt it- detective work is more L's department. However, I might contribute every now and then, and I'll certainly be popping in more than occasionally. Next?" you asked sweetly, turning your attention to Aizawa.
Aizawa had clearly been thinking about this from the very first time he'd seen you. "What's your relationship with Ryuzaki?"
"Good question," you affirmed, pursing your lips for a moment before replying. "I'm just a friend. Light?"
Light, seeming distracted, snapped his head away from the computer and turned to face you. "A question... hmm, I think I've got one. Do you have any thoughts on the Kira situation?"
You'd pretty much expected such a question from Light- you could basically tell what kind of person he was already. Of course, having L come to your bedroom and tell you about him every day did help with your analysis.
"I have mixed thoughts, I suppose," you replied honestly, propping your chin up on one hand. "On one hand, I'm not in favor of murder. On the other hand, crime rates have dropped quite drastically, and at least Japan is an overall safer place." You shrugged, holding Light's gaze for a second or two more before finally turning to Matsuda, who looked up, apparently startled. "Oh! Right, my turn... okay, I think I know exactly what I want to ask."
Wordlessly, you tilted your head at Matsuda- you didn't know that much about him, as L had never really brought him up, and you'd deduced that he simply hadn't cared to- which was likely because of Matsuda's clearly naive and rather clumsy demeanor. You figured he was less of an asset than a liability to the mostly work-oriented and orderly task force. Long story short, you weren't expecting any thought-provoking questions from him.
Nonetheless, you were very caught off guard when he asked casually, "Was that you we heard the other day? Upstairs before L came down?"
Shit.
Quickly feigning confusion, you squinted your eyes. "What do you mean?"
Matsuda dropped his gaze to the ground, his cheeks beginning to fade into a pale shade of pink as he put his hand behind his head sheepishly. "Well, it's just, a few days back we all came inside and sort of heard moa- strange sounds coming from upstairs? And then you came down once they stopped. It's just, uh, we were- I mean, I was- just a little curious."
Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Aizawa cringe and Soichiro wince, while L continued to keep his back turned towards you. Light turned his head for a moment to glance curiously at Matsuda and then you before quickly averting his eyes.
How long had they all been thinking about that?
You took a deep breath, silently letting it out before smiling brightly and answering.
"I'm afraid that's a personal question."

Hii! I love ur work and I was hoping you could maybe do a Tony Stark x male or gn reader. Something like the reader looking up to Tony as a father figure. (preferably if the reader could be around Peter Parker's age that would be great but if not, don't wotry about it lol)Thanks you in advance if u decide to do this request!
A/N: Thank you for your request! It's short but I hope you will like it. I enjoyed writing it.
Who is your hero? Tony Stark x gn!Reader (platonic) Warnings: none
Tumblr media
"What are you doing?" Tony asks you when he appears under the doorway of the kitchen. The dark, worn t-shirt smells like motor oil, and his hands are smeared with black here and there. It's still early in the morning, and he has already spent most of his day in his lab, working on something. "Trying to work on my essay," you reply, putting your elbow on the table to lean against it with a tired sigh. "And how is it going?" "I didn't even start yet," you answer, staring at the blank paper in front of you. The title is clear at the top, but your mind stays empty when you think about the topic. "Oh? What is it about?" Tony hums, turning on the coffee machine before returning his gaze to your hunched form at the table. "I have to write about someone who I look up to." Yeah, the task is familiar to Tony. He had to write an essay about it, too, when he was your age. "And what's the problem?" The air is soon filled with the strong scent of caffeine, and Tony sits down in front of you, looking down at the empty paper under your hand. "I don't know who I should write about," you groan, putting down the pencil in your hand. Maybe you shouldn't stress about it so much. The inspiration will come when you don't think about it. "You don't know? You don't have role models? At least one?" What's up with Tony and his questions today? "Of course I have! I just can't choose." "Maybe I should help?" "Oh, no, I'm sure…" Tony doesn't even let you finish. "You should choose someone who is… brave? Right? Who saved the world a few times, not caring about his or her own wellbeing." You open your mouth to say something, but Tony doesn't let you. "But bravery is not enough, I guess. He or she has to be smart. Really smart. I guess, we can cross Thor's name out of the list then." "Tony!" "He should be a genius!" "There is no she anymore?" You ask him with a mocking tease in your tone. "Don't get me wrong, Nat and Wanda are smart, but…" "Don't even finish it." "So brave and genius. What else do you need? Funny? Handsome? Billionaire?" A smirk pulls on your lips as you watch the man who almost seems offended. "I understand, Tony." "Took you long enough!" "I will write about Doctor Strange," You grin, knowing his reaction already. "Get out of my house!"

“I assure you, you don’t have to walk me to my apartment.”
“It’s not a bother. I insist.”
“No, it’s fine.” Although you tried to keep a smile on your face, you were certain it looked more like you were baring your teeth at him. “Really. You don’t have to do that.”
Ushijima shrugged. “I told you, it’s no big deal.”
Your grin turned into a grimace as you stepped outside the car and headed towards your apartment complex. You managed to grit out, “Great. Thanks.”
A friend from your class had told you they had a friend of a friend who saw an Instagram post of you and thought you were cute. After they showed you a picture of him, you said the same. Little did you know it would lead to a mess of a date set up by said friend.
The date was at a karaage chicken place and it was filled with the most uncomfortable silences you had sat through since office hours with a professor who you were sure hated you. Ushijima was nice enough and it wasn’t the worst date ever, but the two of you just did not click. You figured it was partly your fault for agreeing to meet with him despite not having a single clue about his interests and never having talked to him once, but it was too late to undo it now.
He was a gentleman, at least. Offered to pay, held your seat out for you, drove you to your apartment complex, and, now, was trying to walk you to your doorstep.
The thing was, you did not want him to know where you lived.
You didn’t get red flags or feel threatened by any means, but having a guy you went on one uncomfortable date with know your exact address wasn’t really something that sat well with you. You’ve heard enough college horror stories to be wary. But, you didn’t have the heart to tell him explicitly not to walk you home… So the only solution?
Head to your friend’s apartment in the same complex instead.
“Do you know where you’re going?” asked Ushijima, examining you as your eyes darted around from building to building.
You’d been to Iwaizumi’s apartment before, but that didn’t stop you from looking lost and confused in this maze of houses. And it didn’t help to have Ushijima’s semi-condescending gaze on you the whole time. The worst part was, you were almost certain he didn’t even mean to be condescending— He just was. To you, at least. It definitely rubbed you the wrong way during the date.
“Yeah,” you laughed, walking past your apartment, “of course I know where my own apartment is.”
Iwaizumi’s place was just a few buildings north of yours, which you were quick to remember after catching sight of your place. You briefly wondered if he would be home on a Friday night, but quickly decided it wasn’t important. It’s not like you would be entering his house anyway. In fact, if all went well, he might never even know you were outside his apartment to begin with.
The plan was to have Ushijima drop you off at the doorstep (since he so unwaveringly insisted that he had to and it was no trouble for him to do so), tell him goodbye, fumble with your bag to “look for your keys” as he walked off, then—when he was out of sight—dash to your apartment and lock yourself in your bedroom for the remainder of the night.
A foolproof plan.
“Well, we’re here!” you chirped, standing outside Iwaizumi’s door labeled 237E. You whirled around to face Ushijima. “Thanks for walking me. See you around!”
“Of course.” He nodded but made no move to leave.
Your smile wavered. Was he waiting for you to enter your house safely? If he didn’t seem so innocent, it would’ve been incredibly creepy.
“Err,” you drawled, ruffling through your bag. “I’m just finding my keys. You can leave now; I don’t want to keep you any longer!”
“It’s not a problem.”
Your right eye twitched. What did he think could possibly happen in the time it took you to unlock your door and enter? While it was sweet—in a very suffocating way—it wasn’t what you wanted. After the bad date that was disappointing for the both of you, you expected him to eat his food and dip. Not see you all the way into your house despite the fact that, deep down, he’d much rather be in his own home. It was domineeringly kind.
Didn’t he understand how stressful this could be for someone? His obliviousness was overbearing, but you supposed you couldn’t blame Ushijima when you didn’t verbalize your discomfort to him.
“Everything okay?” he asked for what felt like the fifth time that night.
You chuckled nervously. “I guess I…can’t find my keys?” Looking at him sheepishly, you scratched the back of your head. “But, my roommates will probably be home soon! Or, they might be here now. I’ll just ring the doorbell when you leave!”
Ushijima blinked. “Why not ring the doorbell now?”
“R-Right,” you stammered, unsure whether you wanted to rip your hair out or cry in frustration. Maybe both would be good. “That’s smart. I can do that.”
He looked at you expectantly.
You winced, bringing your pointer finger to the white button of the doorbell. Before you even had the time to gather the courage to press it, the door swung open suddenly, startling you enough to let out a small yelp.
“Ah—! Iwaizumi!” you cried, eyes wide as you stared face to face with your very confused-looking friend. He glanced between you and Ushijima with a questioning expression, but you rambled on before he could say anything. “Hey there, roomie!” You batted your lashes, pleading with him to play along. “I forgot my keys again.”
Iwaizumi’s face displayed a look of pure confusion and you were certain he must never have gotten any acting awards when he was younger. His expression became even more puzzled when you wiggled your way inside the door, standing snugly next to his side.
After an awkward silence, you continued again, “Well, thanks for walking me Ushijima-san! And thank you for the date. Maybe I’ll see you around.”
If he noticed anything suspicious going on, he didn’t show it. Instead he simply nodded and wished you a goodnight.
Yup, there was definitely no chance of Ushijima wanting to ask you out on a second date. Not that you were complaining.
You shut the door—the door to an apartment that wasn’t even your own, mind you—and let out a sigh of relief. With your eyes closed and your back resting against the wall, you momentarily forgot you were standing in the entrance of Iwaizumi’s living room. That was, until you started feeling his heavy gaze on you.
Gulping at the intensity, you cracked your right eye open ever so slightly. “Yes?” you asked innocently.
“Yes?” repeated Iwaizumi incredulously, voice raised in exasperation. “You want to explain what just happened here?”
You had a sudden interest in your shoes as you shuffled in place. Iwaizumi was your friend and someone you considered yourself semi-close to— Comfortable enough to hang out with regularly and talk with almost every day, but not someone that you confided in with no qualms. And definitely not someone close enough for it to be normal to show up at his place unannounced. You were much closer to his best friend, Oikawa, but that was largely due to him finding out you had a big crush on Iwaizumi a number of months ago and feeling the need to tease you endlessly. Apparently, nothing brought people together like relentless goading.
“Another bad date,” you answered with a noncommittal tone. “A friend set me up with that guy you saw, Ushijima, and the date was so awkward.”
He folded his arms across his chest, pulling his white t-shirt snug around his biceps. You tried not to let your eyes bug out of their sockets at the sight. “And yet you let him bring you home?”
“I couldn’t say no! I tried dropping hints but he just didn’t get it.” You looked up, a sheepish half-smile on your face. “But I was smart enough not to bring him to my apartment. Hence why I came here. Roomie.”
Iwaizumi let out an exasperated half-chuckle, half-sigh as he motioned for you to come further inside. You slipped off your shoes at the doorway and followed him into the living room, taking a seat on the couch next to him. He rested his arm against the headrest of the sofa and you were consciously aware of his hand mere inches behind your head.
“Are your other housemates here?” you asked, curious as to why there wasn’t the usual amount of chatter and rage gaming from inside their respective rooms.
He shook his head. “They’re all back at their hometowns for the weekend.”
“And poor Iwa-chan is home all alone on a Friday night instead of out partying with friends?” you teased, reaching over to pat the top of his head mockingly.
Glaring at you for the nickname, he lightly swatted your hand away. “You’ve been spending too much time with Oikawa. His shittyness is rubbing off on you.” There was the slightest hint of amusement in his voice to let you know he was only joking. “And being home alone is better than being stuck with a bad date.”
“Ouch,” you cried, crossing one leg over the other and sticking your tongue out at him. “Yeah, sure, I would rather have been curled up in my bed than go on that date— But you didn’t have to call me out like that.” You pouted. “At least I got free food, I guess.”
He rolled his eyes with a snort. “If you were uncomfortable, you could’ve called me to come pick you up.”
Despite his gruff voice, there was a look of concern on his face. His eyebrows were furrowed and the corners of his mouth were downturned. Iwaizumi’s offer made you feel warm in the stomach, even if you were sure he was just saying it out of courtesy.
“Or better yet,” he continued in a murmur, “don’t let your friends set you up on dates with guys you barely know, dumbass.”
“Hey! Aren’t you and Oikawa the ones always telling me I need to go out and date more in the first place?” you said, huffing at his insult.
They told you your college years were your prime dating years and you might regret not going out with a variety of people now. When else would you have the free time and the patience to date, anyway? That was part of the reason you agreed to blind dates and set ups, after all. If Iwaizumi was insisting you date around, that most certainly meant he didn’t reciprocate your feelings for him. Meaning, you had to get over him somehow before the hurt could kick in, even if that somehow included less than ideal fraternization.
“I never said that,” he grumbled, shaking his head. “Why would I tell you to go on dates with other people? It was just Oikawa who said you should.”
You blinked in confusion. “But you were there and you nodded in agreement.”
He shifted his body to get a better look at you, a scowl on his face. “I did not. You were drunk and you probably thought my head was moving when it wasn’t.”
“Well, you were drunk too! Maybe your head was moving and you just didn’t know.” The lines between his forehead deepened and you laughed, unable to stop yourself from tapping the wrinkles with your ring finger. “Don’t think too hard; you might hurt your brain.”
“You really have been spending too much time with Shittykawa,” he said with a defeated sigh. “But whatever you think I said back then, it’s probably not what I meant. You shouldn’t date anyone unless you want to.”
The thing was, you did want to date someone. Iwaizumi. You were just under the impression he didn’t want to date you.
You shrugged. “What about you? Have you been dating people you don’t want to?”
He shook his head. “No. I haven’t dated anyone recently,” he admitted, averting his gaze from you for the first time that night. “I actually...am interested in someone, though.”
Your stomach dropped. Oh.
“But I don’t think they like me.”
Trying not to show him the crestfallen expression on your face, you looked down at your lap. You had been mentally preparing yourself to accept that Iwaizumi didn’t have a crush on you like you had on him—you were ready to face the harsh reality—but you were not expecting him to tell you he liked someone else on top of that. That was just a double blow to your gut.
You forced out a laugh, hoping it didn’t sound too strained. “That’s silly. Of course they like you.”
“I didn’t even tell you who it was.”
“Don’t need to,” you said diffidently, fingers toying with a loose thread on the blue sofa. “I already know. There’s no way someone wouldn’t like you back.”
Iwaizumi snorted disdainfully. “I wouldn’t be too sure about that. Them going on dates with other people and telling me about them after seems to be a solid indicator that they don’t.”
You froze, letting go of the string you accidentally pulled from the couch. Now, you wouldn’t say you were an overly optimistic person, but you still couldn’t help but think the situation he described was oddly familiar to yours. There was a large chance he was referring to someone else, but with the way you felt his smoldering gaze on your body, you wondered if maybe, just maybe, he could be talking about you.
“Maybe they think you don’t like them so they’re going on those dates to get rid of their crush on you— But only because they thought you told them to do so! And, honestly, the dates probably aren’t helping at all on getting rid of the crush; it just makes it get even bigger and bigger as they realize they can’t like anyone the same way they like you and now they don’t know what to do,” you babbled, unable to stop the word vomit.
After processing the words that you had just uttered, you slapped your hands over your mouth to shut yourself up. That was a little more than you had originally wanted to say… Okay, a lot more. You winced. You wanted to subtly hint that you were talking about yourself, not be so obvious as to yell it out with a megaphone and have a blinking billboard pointing your way.
Idiot, idiot, idiot.
You could only hope Iwaizumi was oblivious enough to let this whole thing go and assume that you were only speaking hypothetically. But he was smarter than that. You knew it. He may be a little dense when it came to romance, but even he couldn’t be dumb enough to misunderstand your conspicuous slip up.
Your stomach churned as you awaited his response.
“So,” he spoke slowly, keeping his cautious regard on you, “Oikawa was right?”
You blinked. That wasn’t the response you were expecting. But things just didn’t seem to go as planned today, you supposed. “What do you mean?”
“You do like me, then?”
“W-What? When did…” You gaped, trailing off as your throat tightened. “He told you that?”
“A month ago, he told me he thought you might like me,” Iwaizumi admitted, a rosy red darkening the apples of his cheeks. “But that was before you started going on those crazy dates, so I figured he was wrong.”
A cry of indignation escaped your lips as you heard the news. “Seriously?”
He nodded.
“No way!” you sputtered in disbelief. “He found out I liked you months ago— At the beginning of the school year! And then last month, Oikawa told me I should to get over you by going on a bunch of dates.”
Your brows were furrowed and arms folded as you glared into the sky, wishing Oikawa were there so you could yell at him for making a fool of you. Iwaizumi caught your gaze with a disgruntled look of his own.
“What on earth?” you groaned, burying your face in your palms.
“I’ll kick his ass the next time I see him,” Iwaizumi vowed.
“Please,” you muttered, a thousand thoughts racing through your mind.
Oikawa knew you had a crush on Iwaizumi. Why would he tell him behind your back? And was Iwaizumi’s response negative? Is that why Oikawa told you to date to get over him? Trying to understand Oikawa’s thought process was enough to almost give you a headache.
“But, wait,” said Iwaizumi quietly, effectively interrupting your train of thoughts. “Months?”
You peeked at him through the cracks between your fingers. “Huh?”
“You said you liked me for months now? Since the start of this school year?”
The heat rose to your cheeks in embarrassment. “T-That’s not the point—!”
“Because I’ve liked you for a few months now too,” he interrupted before you could deny anything. Your eyes shot open as you stared straight at Iwaizumi, just now noticing the serious expression on his face.
Was this a confession?
“Ever since that night we ditched our friends to stay inside and watch Godzilla instead of going to the party.” He shared a small, slightly sheepish smile with you as he recalled the memory.
In the beginning of the year before classes had started but everyone had already moved into their respective apartments, Oikawa decided everyday of the week leading up to the first day of school would be a good day to get shit-faced drunk. It was fun for the first three days, but by day four you were getting worn out, and by day five, just the thought of consuming one more jello shot made you shudder.
So when Iwaizumi—who you had then only recently realized you had a crush on—suggested you two sneak away to his empty apartment and watch some movies instead, you were more than happy to oblige.
“I thought you looked...cute that night,” Iwaizumi managed, his voice gruff and tentative. “It was funny how you were scared by the movies even though it was hardly even horror.” He snorted at the recollection, hints of a grin playing on his face. “And I may have realized then that I had already started liking you.”
You bit the inside of your lip to keep your face from splitting into a beam. Your eyes were wide open, almost as if you were in a daze and were only dreaming the events of this night had happened. Iwaizumi shoved his hands in his sweatpants’ pockets, ducking his head to hide his delight at this situation.
“You like me too?” you asked breathlessly. There was still a tone of disbelief in your voice.
He nodded. “Have for a while now. But I didn’t tell Oikawa about it until last month. And that’s when he said he thought you liked me back.”
At his words, you visibly relaxed. So Oikawa didn’t blab about your crush on his best friend— Though, in all honesty, maybe if he had, you could’ve had a relationship with him sooner. You leaned your head back against the headrest of the couch with a sigh. “Then if he knew you liked me, why did he tell me to date other people that night we were all out drinking together?”
“To piss me the fuck off.”
You laughed in surprise, not expecting Iwaizumi to sound so furious.
“He probably wanted to get me to disagree with him, that dumbass,” he hissed, a scowl forming on his face. Even with his nose scrunched and forehead crinkled, you thought Iwaizumi was as handsome as ever.
“Maybe Oikawa thought you wouldn’t confess without his help so he wanted to push your buttons and make you jealous by seeing me date other people,” you said, chuckling at the audacity of this situation.
Iwaizumi apparently didn’t share your amusement, since his scowl deepened. “I would’ve confessed without his unwanted help,” he grunted. But you knew he wasn’t too annoyed by his best friend. Oikawa never had any ill-intentions towards the two of you, and you both were aware of that. “I was a little jealous, though,” he admitted with flushed cheeks. “And I may have gotten a bit happier every time you told me afterwards that you didn’t like your date—especially tonight.”
You smiled shyly at him, only mildly embarrassed by the routine you two had picked up. Go on a date (usually prompted by Oikawa), wish your date was Iwaizumi the whole time, go home, message Iwaizumi about your bad date, repeat. But in today’s case, you went to him in person instead of texting.
“But I was dreading that one night you’d message saying your date went well,” he said, hands balled up into fists and gaze downcast. “Or worse— Not message that night at all.”
Your expression turned somber as you realized that while you were casually dating around to try to get over Iwaizumi, he was there watching you go out with other people. A feeling of guilt spread through you as you bowed your head slightly, wishing you had taken the chance to tell him your feelings instead of trying to toss them aside.
“Iwaizumi, I’m so sorry,” you said. “I didn’t even think about how it could be affecting you.”
“Hey, it’s okay.” He placed his closed hand on the top of your head, making you look up at him. He nodded once. “You didn’t know. And Assikawa was the one pushing you to go on dates you didn’t want,” he said wryly, though his tone was more amused than bitter. “But maybe now you don’t have to keep going on those bad dates anymore.”
Your heart skipped a beat at his words. Was he offering—?
“Y’know,” he said, “if you… If we…”
“Went on a date?” you completed, hesitant but hopeful. “With each other, I mean.”
“Yes. With each other.” He held his breath. “What do you think?”
After a beat of silence, your face split into a grin. You practically jumped off the couch in excitement, bouncing towards Iwaizumi to tackle him into a hug. He let out a surprised grunt, but caught you in his arms nonetheless.
“I think you could’ve saved me loads of wasted nights if you had asked a month earlier!” you laughed, burrowing your face into his chest— His very strong, very muscular chest that had no business being this comfortable. “To think all this time I could’ve been going on dates with you instead of random people I end up blocking a day after?”
His right hand rested between your shoulder blades while his left was lightly cupping the back of your head. He chuckled and you felt the vibrations through his thin t-shirt.
“We’ll have plenty of time to make up for it now,” he said, voice warm and inviting. “We can catch up on dates this whole weekend. Or just rewatch all of Godzilla again.”
“That sounds like the perfect date weekend.” The grin on your face never left as you stayed tangled in his arms. “And your roommates aren’t back until Monday, hmm?”
He titled his head down at you to see your expression, the corner of his mouth quirked upward as he smirked. “Yup. They’ll be gone all weekend.”
You two exchanged knowing looks, causing you to wiggle your eyebrows suggestively and make him laugh. His ears turned red and when you pointed it out he got even redder. You smiled at each other as you held him even tighter.
It didn’t matter what you two would be doing this weekend. All you cared about was getting to spend more time with Iwaizumi.
“Then we most definitely have a lot of catching up to do.”
