genuinely though i love that the critique that gets lobbed at tng sometimes is that it's boring because the characters sit and think and talk and many of the episodes resolve with very few explosions, and yes! that's the point!!!
like the whole ethos of tng was "space (and everyone in it) is not a threat once you understand it" and sometimes you have to get quiet about it for a minute or have a productive group discussion or do some pontificating to reach that moment of understanding and communication, but at the end we warp away having made a friend or gained a greater understanding of the complexity of the universe and maybe it was a little bit silly or a character learned how to be a better version of themself along the way and that's why i love it!!

What do you think about how Redstone exposure effects people other than red eyes, and if the redstone effects their eyes, does it affect how their brain functions?
Do people without redstone exposure notice a difference in the behaviours of people with redstone exposure?
Do hybrids have different reactions? Are hybrids of mobs that are more commonly underground more resistant? Are neither and end hybrids less resistant/more susceptible?
Is there a difference in redstone quality and if there is, does that effect exposure?
Sorry for so many questions, I love world building! Also, may I steal the redstone stuff?
no need to apologize i love getting questions like this!!
i’d say redstone exposure effects vary based on individual biology, and the exact mental side effects are ambiguous on purpose, but different hybrids absolutely have different reactions to it!
(side note i did deliberately write those redstone exposure notes through a framework that doesn’t account for this, they’re comparing the hermits’ protocols to an implied universal safety standard)
but like tango for instance has ‘metabolic acceleration’ listed as one of his symptoms, the idea being that to a blaze hybrid redstone acts as a stimulant—he sleeps less, eats more, and burns hotter the more time he spends around it (to the point where he can even comfortably forego his usual heat-retaining overworld gear while working in an ice dungeon)
and then doc’s symptoms are a huge mystery, both due to his creeper hybrid status and the fact that he basically has redstone for blood at this point. the question is more what symptoms the redstone is experiencing from all this doc exposure
as for redstone quality, love the question bc i didn’t actually consider that yet! my gut instinct is to say no, there’s not a huge difference in redstone *quality* per se, but it does come in a lot of different forms, and i think it would make sense for some to be more ‘toxic’ than others
redstone dust would probably be the highest risk (easy to accidentally inhale/ingest and has nothing containing it), ore/redstone torches/redstone blocks are less messy but still high exposure, things like dispensers that are crafted with redstone are a little safer, etc. i think the most stable form it can be in is probably potions, where it’s encapsulated by xp
and yeah ofc you can use the idea! i feel like there’s a lot of directions you could potentially go with it, like are there acute symptoms? is it addictive? can you build a tolerance? what IS redstone exactly? (i know the education edition has its opinions but i have other ideas) <- all questions i deliberately leave unanswered for fun and profit

Alicent after her husband damns her children, the ones he forced onto her, the ones she carried and birthed and loved and spent her whole life protecting. after he leaves her, dying a pathetic death, leaving her and her children alone in the world, even more than he had before. after her children are robbed from her, meeting fates promised to them at birth, ones she tried so hard to change. after being left to roam an empty keep, the sounds of her children's antics now long gone. after hearing her own cries echo in the septs, but never reaching the gods, rattling the walls of her chambers, yet falling on deaf ears. Alicent after she decides she will be king, in her eldest's stead, she will weild her own sword in place of her most trusted friend and closest son, she will fill the world with her words like her daughter had, she will take revenge as she sees fit as her youngest had:

it's difficult to apply common fandom tropes to Gabv1el on account of how their meet cute went, but I keep thinking about how an Arranged Marriage AU would go:
Probably something along the lines of how, during the New Peace, Mankind guns for Heaven and its infinite resources rather than excavate in Hell, thus begins the long-belated Space Race. Heaven and its Council don't give a shit until they figure out how to reach and subsequently terraform the Fourth Sphere. War starts, but humanity has an edge in not only numbers but also technology, nevermind that there are human souls in the solar system Spheres that are sick of how the Council and higher angels are running things.
Fast-forward to the point where humanity starts making ground towards the edges of the Eighth Sphere and then the peace talks began. Part of that includes a marriage between mortal and divine. Gabriel, brightest of Heaven and one of the few higher angels who actually gives a shit about the mortal plight, is chosen as Heaven's representative. The Council is banking on Gabriel well outliving his mortal spouse and then having a massive political advantage via the prenuptial agreement, while Gabriel just wants to be a good husband for as long as his spouse is alive.
But instead of sending a super important leader figure or extremely wealthy mortal, Mankind digs up their deadliest machine from the Final War era, pretties them up, gives them the mission directive of ensuring they outlive their angelic husband, and then arming them to the metaphorical teeth.
And then I actually can't think of anything beyond Gabriel getting extremely offended upon first meeting, insults ensue throughout their shaky courtship until V1 kicks his ass, and then Gabe almost consummates their marriage prematurely as a result. Also the whole thing just being framed as a pulpy space opera because why the fuck not.
