Top 5 nightwing v2 moments and top 5 foods
ohh my godd nightwing 96 my beloved. truly some of the most INSANE character arcs and dialogues of all time. i still cant pick!
okay so i dont really remember which issues are V2 so if some of these are wrong just use your imagination, my fav moments from nightwing v2 in no specific order::
dick expressing his love and pride for tim. goshh that scene really was everything. dick watching and admiring tim just like people used to admire dick, feeling confident in his little brother and how much he's learning and how he's oh so better than him.
"God, I love that kid. I love him too much to let him see me like this."
especially with what comes after! tim actually taking the time to come to dick and ask him how he felt about the adoption. tim tells dick that bruce still needs him, needs to believe that dick is on his side, and by extension tim needs dick too. and dick's response! his justified anger bc he's in such a bad place rn and he does not wanna here about bruce's fake promises, especially coming from tim.
"Remember how I once told you that Batman needed a Robin? Well that's still true.
But even more than that, he... he needs you. You know, not like every second or whatever, but at the end of the day he needs to know that you're still on his side. It's...important."
and what does dick say?
YOU--! --You have no idea how much of my life I've wasted believing that was true.
2. the whole evil mob arc like "ooh look at me im so bad and evil and everything i touch rots" like babe aint nobody believing that except youu. quoting del's post (im pretty sure) dick grayson you look for your father's love in the most fucked up places <3
"You take as long as you need son, and when you're ready to come home just show up day or night."
3. the scene where roy comes to check up on dick?? hello??
"Nightwing? That you, man? Good to see you fighting the good fight bro!"
"Roy..."
"Ive been hearing all these crazy rumors that you've gone over to the dark side."
AND THEN- THE PUNCH. OUGH.
he is trying to keep roy away, if he keeps him at arm's length, makes sure he doesn't come back, then he won't get hurt. this is dick's mess and dick needs to fix it. classic deflection trick from the bat-book. he also doesn't want roy to see him like this. dick envies roy's sense of self...his ability to stay even when things get tough.
roy's abandonment issues vs dick's active detachment fight
4. the blockbuster monolgue scene... truly one of the best nightwing villains. feeding into dick's guilt complex... u can never go back and the way forward is washed with the consequences of your sins. it's an understatement when i say i lost my MIND reading this.
here's a link to the transcript of the post comparing grayson's dialogue vs taylor's reboot version
5. when dick goes to meet helena and she tells him
"Even if I wanted to, I couldn't pry them away from you with a crowbar."
referring to rose and sophia when dick asks helena to care for them--bc he trusts HER.
like.. deep down u know she is right. my girl was not taking his shit today. so much can be said about their relationship and about dick from this one scene but i'm afraid i don't have the words to say it. but i could link some great dickhelena metas here and here.
bonus: literally all the scenes with sophia and rose in them. i really disliked how they left that knot untied, there was so much potential there... so much love and discovery. never getting over them and their messed up little family of have beens and could bes..
--- 𓆩♡𓆪
as for my favorite foods.. that's a toughie. im a really picky eater so those vids you see on social media about going to restaurants and ordering chicken nuggets is exactly me. buttt here's a fragment of an answer::
i lovee my mom's homemade food. mama's cooking is always the best and whenever i venture anywhere away from home it's literally all i can think about. also i know all the love she puts into each and every fresh meal and there never passed a day she let me leave home on an empty stomach <3
the loml kfc fried chicken. look i LOVE chicken of all types- butter chicken, fried chicken, chicken kebab. but kfc chicken as my friday takeout meal has always been a staple in my life.
ALSO CHICKEN RENDANG MMM. THEY WERE REALLY COOKING WHEN THEY MADE THAT.
aloo paratha with butter. you can keep your pancakes and ur waffles there's nothing i'd rather have for breakfast than a yummy aloo paratha and i KNOW im not the only one.
#IM SORRY THIS TOOK 4EVER#tried soo hard to structure this in a good way#i hope its comprehensible#honoured to receive your ask mwahh hmu if you ever wanna obsess over nw v2 with me#laying it all out with red string#letters to the editor

So I watched Ratchet and Clank: Life of Pie and I liked it! Here’s my thoughts about this!
- Idk why but it seem like to be a completely different timeline. It’s sure not original timeline, but it doesnt feel like Reboot timeline either. Idk, probaly bc they mention Deplanetizer and Biobliderator, but Reboot only had Deplanetizer.
- Yeah Ratchet seems chlidish as many pointed out, but since it’s not original timeline it’s makes sense. And like, you dont instantly mature after one event if the short is connected to the Reboot. If it’s really true that it’s a pilot episode for R&C animated series that’s mean they already set a nice ground for a character development, so childishness isnt a nesseceary a bad thing.
- There was only one moment I cringed but it quickly passed so I wasnt too much troubled by that. (i just dislike any undergarment jokes and anything related to this).
- One of the think I absolutly loved it’s how they portraited Clank! He seem to have to have even more personality then before. Like he’s being petty and messing with Ratchet for small revenge? Yes please! And he acts on his own more often too. Clank is logical, but also brave enough to improvise on the fly and they showed it very well! And the fact he shows more emotion. His action was amazing, he’s feels more like deuteragonist rather than sidekick :D
- Dynamic between Ratchet and Clank is good too! And it also sets a ground for development as well)
- All weapon references :3
- Lmao Nefarious is being himself, perfect ahahah xD
- Humor is really good too ( excpet that one moment i mentioned above ofc)
So yeah, the short of fun and I ejoyed it, solid 8/10, and I would watch the show if it’s really a thing.)

Idk about you but I think Fallout needs a reboot, not a remaster or anything but like an actual reboot, because Bethesda has made some major clown mistakes with 4 and 76 that have left the lore in a state and while they haven't narratively written themselves into a corner yet, they've thematically lost the plot, all this pro-America worship?? Writing Enclave and Brotherhood east coast conflicts into place that breaks the reality of the Fallout 1-2 timeline, same with the Super Mutants... Not to mention making weird lovecraft subplots and local cryptid references into actual canonical figures, or a giant underground race of bats to extinguish with nuclear launch codes...
It’d be very nice for Bethesda to push the undo button on fallout 4 and some of 76 (i can appreciate some worldbuilding things for it like the mole miners, but tbr i dont know a lot abt 76 still story wise lol). They’ve definitely lost the themes of fallout and it’s fallen prey to the capitalism fueled industry + society it’s meant to critique. Which is so despairing. Bethesda isn’t the right company to handle Fallout imo, but it’ll never escape Bethesda’s greedy lil claws sadly lol. Like considering how fallout 3 was hardly original, really makes me frustrated. They obviously didn’t want to lose the CRPG fanbase, and were too scared to go with new ideas and stuck with familiar things of the series to the point of regurgitation. And fallout 4 is. Well it’s. It’s Uh. Anyways Adam Adamowicz was like the only one from Bethesda who really rejuvenated and pushed the series worldbuilding wise with his concept art. And We Miss Him Everyday
Personally I enjoy the kooky cosmic horror subplots, fallout aside from being a sci fi setting, is definitely supernatural in a lot of ways. Considering the existence of psykers and what FEV can do to people and creatures who are mutated. There’s a lot of cosmic horror to FEV imo. The cryptids of fo76 are definitely so incredibly made in bad taste or plain cringey. And the general gameplay mechanics of the launch code shit of 76 is so bad, but I think a lot of 76 will not be considered canon bc of it being an online game. But I could be wrong. Despite how much I dislike where fallout’s going, I’m still a lowly serf who will grow my crops of original worldbuilding and continue to play it and suffer. Masochism.

Per your DM, Tara and/or Lafayette from True Blood. Feel free to ask me about whoever.
Give Me A Character And I Will Answer Ask:
1.) Lafayette Reynolds from True Blood
Why I like them: He’s everything I look for in a well-rounded character. He’s funny, he’s kind, he’s got a great understanding of how the world works, he’s protective of Tara, Jesus, and the people he loves, he has some of the best lines on the show, and he’s the kind of guy you’d want to spend time with. He’s fantastic!
Why I don’t: The only time I had a minor issue with him was maybe in season 1 when he was using Eddie to get V. I get he was trying to make ends meet, so I don’t really hold it against Lafayette. I just wish it had actually been a loving relationship there rather than one based on “You give me sex, and I’ll give you V.”
Favorite episode (scene if movie): All of his interactions with Jesus in seasons 3-4. I loved their relationship! 🥰
Favorite season/movie: He was amazing in every season. If I had to choose, it’s a tie between seasons 1 and 3. He was at his prime in season 1 (especially with the AIDS Burger Speech) and then there’s his relationship with Jesus in season 3, and getting to know more about Lafayette via his relationship with Ruby Jeane (his mom).
Favorite line: “Dead people, why y’all gotta be so cryptic? It ain’t cute!”
Favorite outfit: He looks fabulous in anything he wears, or even when he’s shirtless! 🤩 However, if I had to choose, it’s a tie between two outfits: The Gold Pants from season 1 (which I can’t find a good picture of for some reason) and this classic outfit:
OTP: Lafayette/Jesus
Brotp: Lafayette/Terry. That moment in season 2 when Terry comforts Lafayette over having PTSD sealed it for me.
Head Canon: Him and Tara would have movie nights together where they would watch classics and make fun of the characters in them whenever they made extremely stupid decisions! 😂
Unpopular opinion: I really disliked how Lafayette’s PTSD over being tortured by Eric was dropped after season 2. I wish they had dealt more with Lafayette’s fear of Eric instead of fizzling it out like they did. I also wasn’t a fan of how Eric and Pam essentially bullied Lafayette into becoming their drug dealer after what they did to him. I get that Eric and Pam are popular with fans, but that was something that left a bad taste in my mouth.
A wish: Too late for wishes since the show ended, lol! I guess I wish there had been more of his relationship with Jesus!
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: I hate how he was killed off at the end of the first book. If there’s one thing this show did better, it was keeping Lafayette alive and expanding his role.
5 words to best describe them: Sexy, Kind, Spirited, Sassy, and Knowledgeable.
My nickname for them: La-La Lafayette
2.) Tara Thornton from True Blood
Why I like them: She’s the smartest person in Bon Temps, she’s fiercely loyal to the people she loves, she doesn’t take bullshit from anyone, she’s the kind of person you want on your side when you’re going into battle, she deserved so much better than what the show gave her, and she’s there for others.
Why I don’t: She can be abrasive and rude some of the time, but I do get where it’s coming from, so I don’t dislike her for it.
Favorite episode (scene if movie): Rescuing Jason from the police station in season 1, her interactions with Lafayette, bashing Franklin’s head in with a mace and later verbally ripping into him and calling him a rapist and a psychopath, her decapitating Elijah in season 5 and telling Pam they weren’t running................she had so many great scenes!
Favorite season/movie: Tie between Season 1 and Season 5. Again, she was in her prime in season 1, but I also really loved her story in season 5 when she became a vampire and had to learn to adjust to it. That, and her relationship with Pam was a highlight.
Favorite line: “School is just for white people looking for other white people to read to 'em. I figure I save my money and read to myself.”
Favorite outfit:
OTP: Tara/Pam.
Brotp: Tara and Lafayette. They’re one of my favorite sibling relationships on the show next to Sookie/Jason.
Head Canon: I like to think that in the later seasons, Jason and Tara were able to talk offscreen and patch things up between them where they made peace with each other after everything that had happened, and made it clear they still cared for one another. I’m really sad this relationship got wrecked and later fizzled out the way it did.
Unpopular opinion: I HATED her entire arc in season 3 when she’s kidnapped by Franklin, taken to a plantation, and held hostage while he rapes her. That’s one of the few story arcs I had to fast-forward through because of how deeply disgusting it was. Words cannot describe how much I hate Franklin’s character! The only redeeming thing about this story was seeing Tara bash Franklin’s head in, and helping Sookie and Bill to escape Russell’s mansion. If it wasn’t for Tara, they would have died.
A wish: Assuming that the reboot isn’t going to focus on brand new characters or do a direct adaptation of the books, I hope they treat her better there and that she actually gets a happy ending.
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: Tara ever becoming friends with Bill. The dude left her to be raped to death, and tried to have her killed on several occasions (attempting to blow up Moon Goddess Emporium in season 4, siccing the Authority guards on her in season 5, etc). There is no way they can ever make a friendship work between them because of that.
5 words to best describe them: Brave, Loyal, Fierce, Honest, and Kind.
My nickname for them: Fierce Fighter
Thank you for the ask! 🙂

I love that Mattel saw years and years of fanart and cosplay of chubby Draculaura and actually gave us a less skinny (this still isn't even chubby tbh) Draculaura in this reboot. Especially since it means they had to make a whole new mold to do it, and risk making fatphobic fans throw a big baby tantrum.
Gore-ganizer Draculaura!!

Charmed 02x02 Review
Y'all part of me just can't. Like the excitement and energy over this last episode is too much to keep inside. I am super ready to burst and super excited for episode 3. But I am just gonna say that overall I thought this episode was superb 8/10 only because I am saving my 9 and 10. But if I could I'd give it a 9 out of ten. There was only like a couple things I was nitpicky about and it's pretty standard tv logic stuff that most people overlook so dont come at me for it. So I am just gonna start like I always do except I cant just pick 3 likes and dislikes so I am just gonna list my likes some of the nitpicks and then some episode highlights.
SPOILERS AHEAD
Things I liked:
1. Hacy development
So no secret I am a hacy fan and I pretty much love any hacy content the show will give us but I really thought the show did so well this episode.
Originally, I thought the show was going to explore Macy's feelings through Dark!Harry, and in a way they have revealed them using Dark!Harry (Season 1 ended with us not sure if Macy felt anything for Harry, but knowing he had some feelings for her). I was worried there may be less hacy moments because they would keep most of the interaction between Dark!Harry and Macy. Even had me scared that Macy may be falling for Dark!Harry and not Harry proper. But no, they gave us Genuine Hacy.
The awkwardness of the interactions after the dream. That car ride was hilarious with the map and the radio (harry is still super at comedic relief in club and in car)
Harry's concern over having done something wrong
The looks when checking each other out.
Making each other laugh and encouraging each other.
Harry trying to save that witch and Macy being concerned by what it would
"I know Harry"
I mean it wasn't just tension. There was some fluff thrown in. Harry telling her to celebrate the victories and looking at her proudly. Which brings me to item 2.
2) I love what rupert does with his eyes between the two Harrys. Real harry (as macy put it) is so harmless looking. Those puppy eyes are adorable and rupert makes sure to have then turned up all the way when being real harry.
The only time Dark!harry makes soft eyes (well sort of) is the first time we see him with Macy, the initial moment in episode 1, and then when Maggie goes for a hug in this episode. He is just so taken off guard by the affection that his pretending-to-be-Harry-face slips and his eyes kind of go wide and they arent so narrowed and focused. Which makes me think he has not been hugged often or at all . . . That's sad. Then the switch when Maggie backs away. The eyes narrow again and he gets all mean. Just love that rupert can do things like that to give both characters distinctive enough feels that you can tell that dark!harry is acting.
3) Mel and Maggie bonding
So I really do hope that we get some Macy and Mel bonding, but I am happy anytime the show can deepen the bonds between the sisters. Maggie and Mel have a bit of a complicated relationship even though they grew up together. I mean especially from this episode we see and remember that Mel was the big sister for most of her life. She protected Maggie and seems to have acted like a second parent. It is sad that there dad really just turned out to be a bad dad. No reason behind it no, issues with Marisol other than apparently the ones he created on his own (which I will get into on my nitpicks). The fact this was just a loss for Maggie, and not just a loss as in she was the only one to feel something when Ray died but a loss of memories she thought she had and an idea of who her dad (a piece of her past), was sad but it actually gave us further insight into mel and Maggie's dynamics. First season we knew the rift between mel and Maggie was over Mel's obsession with and Mel's expectations of how Maggie should have acted and behaved. I think a lot of us chalked it up to Mel being controlling and having the oldest child attitude, but I think now we see there is more there. Mel seems to have spent a lot of time protecting Maggie and biting her tongue about certain aspects of thier lives and in a sense making sacrifices for her. So it makes sense she would expect the same from Maggie, but at the same time Maggie didnt know, and even if she did thise were Mel's choices and Maggie doesnt owe her anything for them.
Knowing that we can see how it is so easy for riffs to form between them which make the start of this season make more sense to me. Because Maggie wants to live her life and is a trusting and positive person. Mel expects a certain level of loyalty and commitment and has a different idea of what that looks like compared to Maggie. On top of there general personality differences it makes sense they all that would culminate into a rocky relationship prone to communication difficulties and tifs. But I love that they are starting to acknowledge those things and rebuild. Last season it was them just getting over feeling abandoned by each other after the death of Marisol. This exposed deeper roots of the initial rift. I liked that.
4) I love that the Maggie and Mel still have Magic and even though though the active powers are gone they arent defenseless. They just need to be resourceful. I actually like this a lot and I feel gives the writers a lot of room to play with creative ways for the ladies to save other witches.
5) demon lore!!!! Okay so while season 1 seems mostly thrown out the lore actually explains season 1 demons better.
One of the issues I had was that there did not seem to be a synchronized front with the demons and they never explained why even though Alistair claimed to be a hotshot the only people he had working for him was his family.
In the OG in first season before lore got expanded) demons and witches werent organized. Demons sort of acted on thier own for thier own purposes and witches seem mostly solitary except for occasional get togethers on important events. Later on in the series demons got an organization system (triad) then later one ruler (the source of all evil). Witches seem mostly solitary except for now the elders who assigned white lighters watched over them and placed rules on magic. I dont think people really remember the drastic shift in lore and the plot holes OG had because we generally liked the places it was going. So I am kinda on that page fro the reboot.
It flipped the script. Witches are or were the organized bunch both self ruling and ruling over the magical community. Demons were at war with each other and all had different agendas so makes sense that the Caines were mostly on thier own.
I like this idea of there being different general types of demons and a hierarchy. I do wonder if that will limit then in the long run, but assuming they can be creative with the categories they have defined I am not too worried. I am excited to get more info on demons now.
6) the new love interests. I love Mel's new love interest. So different from Mel and her previous love interests. I reserve judgment until we get more interaction but I am liking her so far. Jordan is interesting I am actually liking the build up of thier relationship and will be nice to see maggie start off slow and make friends with him first. I wasnt a huge parkerita fan but I did not dislike the ship. But one of my general blehs is love at first site between teens. The way parker and Maggie began was just off putting to me but they were nice together when they were together honestly. This will be a good venture into perhaps an adult relationship or at least on that doesnt begin with as much drama. That said she is dead and will have to hide her identity from him soo....
Now on to the nitpicks:
1) Ray's characterization.
Okay so I dont mind that Ray turned out to be just a crap dad. It happens. But there are things we know that Ray probably didnt that makes us wonder why marisol even got with him and married him.
A) we know Marisol continued an affair throughout her marriage to Ray. Even assuming Ray was just a crap husband and father, why did marisol get with him and marry him if he was so good at alienating everyone he met. I wouldnt think he was just a one night stand that Marisol decided she would have to marry after getting pregnant. I would think she would be above that.
B) did he even know about magic. Was his whole relationship and life with Marisol and the girls just based on secrets, ignorance, and not being around?
I mean for B it is fine if it was I just would like to know for sure what it was versus just guessing. But I assume like Maggie I am just gonna have to move on from this
2) the house lights and the job application.
Okay how does the house have power and and water without the city noticing? How can maggie apply for a job with no social security number? I mean I assume because she is dead she cant use her real info. Or she could but wouldnt that make it easy for demons who may think to infiltrate government records to find them? I mean this is a nitpick and can be explained away by Magic, but still it was on my mind.
3) the mysterious figure at the end. Okay y'all, I assume it is Dark!Harry. But the more I thought about it, the more I got angry that they didnt show his face. Basically, that is leaving room that it could be someone else like one of the other new love interests or someone we havent met yet. I dont like that. If it is Dark!Harry we've already met him and know he is after the girls so most likely would be working with the demons. So showing him wouldnt be a big deal. But keeping the figure hidden means leaving that door of possibilites open. This has me paranoid now. Again nitpick. I'll get over it. Some people might like that.
Episode Highlights:
Comic relief Harry. Getting knocked down when orbing into the club and not being able to hold a map.
"I'll put a hex on you."
"I'm formidable!" You tell him!
Harry's wonky orbing in general. so confused so turned about.
Maggie being able to tell that Dark!Harry was not Harry. "Those are Harry's charges and family you cant fool them ya creep!!!"
Invisible mel putting a shovel to the side of Dark!Harry's face. "Yess!!!!"
Harry's puppy dog eyes when Macy says all she needs is a look to know who the real Harry is

Hello one and all, it’s once again time for my seasonal dose of adorable underdressed anime fun with Matt! My collaborations with him are my chance to see some shows on the more moe ecchi side of things that I wouldn’t necessarily get around to otherwise so it’s a good way to broaden my horizons. So naturally this season Matt suggested Psycho Pass! I had no objections….
Some more astute readers may know that I (much like a whole lot of anime fans) have a very soft spot for the series. I talk about it a lot and to this day this messy fever dream of a post remains one of my favourites!
But enough about me, Matt what are your thoughts/feelings about the franchise?
Hello Irina, everyone, it’s me. My thoughts on Psycho Pass’s first season? Absolutely excellent, one of my Top 20 anime of all time. Thoughts on the second season? A rushed mess that does a disservice to the events of the previous season.
So season 3… Whenever a beloved series gets a new entry, there’s always a sort of backlash from fans. A weird fear that somehow it can go back in time and change what the original was. It’s counterproductive. Which is probably why Matt warned us on Twitter not to immediately compare it to the original…But Boy did this first episode make that hard!
There were parallels to the first season Everywhere you looked. The art style is instantly recognizable, and the environments remain almost untouched (aside from the CG but we’ll get back to it). The colour palette is very close, only slightly warmer and the framing and angles are perfectly consistent. The OP was purposefully similar which made the inclusion of that demon-like creature really stand out.
Beyond that though, we saw glimpses of the iconic Syble control room, the dominators in action, Shion back in force (oh hecks yeah) and even just a hint of Akane. And one of the first scenes was of inspectors Arata and Kei arriving on their very first day at the job, at a rainy crime scene in an opener that directly mirrored season 1’s first episode.
I know you don’t want us to compare the two, Matt, but it certainly seems the show isn’t about to let us forget its roots.
There’s nothing wrong with calling back to things that happened in previous seasons, in-fact they were some of my favourite parts of the episode. The problem is when people dont give a show a fair chance to stand on its own because their too busy holding it up to its predecessors shadow.
There’s something of a deft balancing act done here by making this part sequel and part soft reboot (at least that’s my impression) and I think it pulls off both very well.
To me though, this was an homage, not a rip-off. Tonally, visually and atmospherically it was very reminiscent of Psycho Pass but the character dynamics, faster and grimier corruption storyline set up and quick-fire dialogue are fresh. Not to mention the completely new mind trace gimmick. So far, I like it, but it has the potential of just turning into plot destroying “sci-fi magic”, what do you think?
It’s funny you mention the mind trace “gimmick” because (aside from the visuals) that was my favourite thing about this episode. I don’t know if you’ve seen Bryan Fuller’s ‘Hannibal’ tv series from a few years back but our protagonist in that show has complete empathy which allows him to become other characters which is almost exactly what Arata has (down to the wording) of his trait. So not only was I immediately on board with this but I was excited to see where it would take his character. Oh I vaguely remember it. I was actually thinking of Sherlock myself.
Arata is a light-hearted happy go lucky protagonist. For someone like me, whose favourite character was Kagari, it’s a thrill, but what do you think Matt? And ho do you think audiences will react. It’s a pretty big departure from previous protagonists.
I think a lot of his light-hearted disposition is a coping measure for having to deal with having complete empathy. I enjoyed this kind of protagonist compared to brooding and dour but I still think it’s a bit of a front.
O.k., I’ve avoided it so far but let’s just mention the CG for a bit. I didn’t like it. It wasn’t horrible but the integration was hardly seamless and honestly, it took me out of the moment on several occasions.
Hmm, I have to disagree, I thought it looked wonderful and very dynamic and interesting. I’ve heard streaming things with a lot of small details can look ugly so maybe that was the problem for you? I ~acquired~ a 1080p copy of the episode so maybe that’s why I thought it looked so good? No for me the issue was more that the light and shadow physics where calculated at a very slightly different angle that made the CG pieces sort of stand out in one frame and not the next. Once I noticed I kept on noticing. Also, I disliked the textures but that personal taste. Actually, I got to give it to prime, the quality if their streams are really good!
Overall, here is what I got from the first episode of season 3 of Psycho Pass. The narrative seems to be more action-oriented with hints of humour, rather than dramatic noir. There is a lot more emphasis on tech which leads me to believe we’re going to stray into cyberpunk territory. Political machinations are afoot.
I think it was a necessary change, this felt more like a US crime procedural along the lines of ‘Person of Interest’ so arguably not world’s away from what it was but different enough to feel like it’s carving out its own identity and not resting on everything that it’s previous seasons set up.
There were some red flags. The addition of what seems to amount to incredible psychic powers in Arata is a very tricky narrative element and unless used carefully and sparingly could either render stakes inconsequential or completely undercut and tension in the story. Moreover, the little we saw of the villains did seem a tad too goofball to be taken seriously and, in my experience, this universe really benefits from a strong antagonist.
In the closing scenes, there is a line seemingly spoken by Akane: “We must protect justice even at the cost of a peaceful society”… This was meant as a sort of handoff to a new cast and although a bit heavy-handed still cute. Except that to me, it sort of goes against what Akane stands for and negates some of her most important and powerful character moments (by the way, I’ve seen season 1, the old movie,
Seeing Akane at all was kind of unexpected–the opening monologue and the sort of revelation that she’s still imprisoned (I think that’s what they were going for–its been a while since I watched season 2) hit me harder than I expected.
On the other hand, I pretty much fell head over heels for Mika. Every scene she was in made me smile and glued my eyes to the screen. I always wanted to know more about the tech of Psycho Pass and that seems to be the direction the season is heading in and although we don’t know much about Kei and Arata, I like them both so far.
I like all the characters (both new and returning ones) so far, I quite liked the banter between our two inspectors and their chief–she seems like a pretty understanding woman–hope she doesn’t end up working for the bad guys!
From what I can remember of my very first impressions of the franchise at all, this is pretty much on par. I mean I’m way more excited but I’m bringing that down because a lot is due to fuzzy nostalgia feelings. I didn’t really have any expectations for this episode, all I wanted was a strong narrative and characters set in the familiar future fictional Tokyo of the Psycho Pass universe that I’ve got a lot of fondness for and on that front it absolutely delivered. If I have one complaint it’s that it introduced a lot of characters that didn’t do much (specifically those three mysterious characters who are either politicians or something I’m not quite sure) but there’s still plenty of time to find out what their deal is. All in all, I thought this was an excellent continuation and new beginning for the series.

Favorite Sohma’s
Hi yes, uh, I needed a space to rant about fruits basket because I am still very broken so yea
Disclaimer that this is just my opinion and I still love them all very much, just needed to get this out of my system ayee. Also I will include a song that reminds me of them because I am that invested in this so yeaaaa
14- Kagura Sohma
Boy by Little Mix - “I know what you’re worth girl, you know what you got”
I rank Kagura as my least favorite just for the fact that I cant really relate to her I guess? I mean, she is okay, I think she is cute and all but I don't think violence is the way to go about her struggles and she is so much more worth than she gives herself credits for. In the end, I dont think I full understood her big struggle as much as the other characters and thats why she is at number 14, although I want her to be happy and full of love and support like the others ;w;
13- Akito Sohma
My Eyes by Neil Patrick Harris and Felicia Day - “But it’s plain to see, Evil inside of me is on the rise”
Akito is a complicated one for me man. Of course, in the beginning and throughout the manga you learn to really dislike her because she did some terrible things, specially to my baby boi Yuki and eye-.... But then when we learn more about her and everything she has gone through we start sympathizing with her but i..... cant just forget everything she did. I get she was traumatized since she was little, she became dependent on the zodiacs because of her father’s words and mother’s behaviour thus becoming a broken person with this big responsibility she didn't ask for. It really ticks me however, how much pain the others underwent through her, and even though its a healing process, the traumas and everything they suffered is still there which is why I cant place her higher. I do not hate her by any means, but she isnt my favorite person on this list either. I do ship her with Shigure and I think they help each other out, and they grow from the other.
12- Shigure Sohma
Used to the Darkness by Des Rocs - “Now would you pray before you twist the knife? Yeah, would you take my hand and take a life?”
*big sigh* Shigure is also a complicated one for me. It may be my big dumb energies showing but I didnt fully get a grasp on his character? I know he was doing everything for Akito’s sake to liberate from the curse and be with her so she is finally a “woman” but he always acted a bit shady xD?? I would have love to know more about his backstory, we dont get much from his motivations and character other than the perverted aspect and that he loves Akito lmaoo. I do think he is hilarious and I love the dynamic he has with Hatori and Ayame lol
11- Ayame Sohma
Starships by Nicky Minaj - “Starships were menat to fly, Hands up and touch the sky “
To be honest I am pretty neutral about Ayame’s character. He is hilarious and I love how Yuki insults him every tike he gets the chance lolll. I like how throughout the story he tries to change to become a better brother to Yuki and person even though he is pretty extra most of the time about it. He has a good heart and even though he made some mistakes he owns up to them which in my opinion, makes him a good character <33 I love his friendship with Hatori lmaooo they balance each other out sooo well
10- Kureno Sohma
Taking Chances by Celine Dion - “Never knowing if there's solid ground below, Or a hand to hold, or hell to pay”
I really like Kureno! He has gone through quite a bit and he needs a hug. I am sad thinking how most of his life he lead it pretty similarly to Yuki’s, apart from everyone and super enclosed to his relationship with Akito due to him breaking the curse and feeling bad about it. I do wish we would have gotten to know more about his personality and story, if we did I would have definitely ranked him higher! He really reminds me of Tohru’s father and I think Uotani is perfect for him <33 would have love to see more about the two of them and hopefully they expand upon it in the anime
9- Ritsu Sohma
Waving Through a Window by Ben Platt - “On the outside, always looking in, Will I ever be more than I've always been?”
Okay okay so I have a lot of thoughts on Ritsu. Manga Ritsu is okay, I really dont have much of an opinion on him due to him appearing only in a few chapters, I feel like from the Sohma’s, he is the one we get the least information about. But then the anime episode came out where they presented Ritsu and I thought they gave him so much more life and rounded personality where, I get to relate a lot to him? I am someone who is constantly apologizing for absolutely no reason and seeing him be all anxious and stressed about others interactions is big relate to me and I stan. I also think the whole dressing as a woman plot line is better dealt with in the anime and I hope we get to see more about his insecurities and troubles in the future because he is truly a very interesting character! I stan my one (1) anxious monkey.
8- Kisa Sohma
Mean by Taylor Swift - “But you can take me down with just one single blow, But you don't know what you don't know”
Cinnammon rooooooolll. Kisa is such a cutie. I dont have much to say other than my mood every time I think about Kisa is hugging her like Tohru does because she is babyyyy. Also her bullying story is one I think many viewers and readers can relate a lot to and such an important topic I think they covered pretty well and I loveee. Also her and Hiro are one of my favorite ships because they work so well and asdfgh in this household Kisa is a queennn.
7- Isuzu Sohma
Take me Home by Jess Glynne - “Came to you with a broken faith, Gave me more than a hand to hold”
I really like Isuzu!! I am pretty bummed we wont get to meet her in season 1 of the Anime reboot but hopefully in the nest season! She is quite a complex character that I didnt really understand at the beginning but once we see how much she loves Haru and all that she does in order to protect and keep him save she really went up my list. She has gone through so much, from her shattered reality from her parents, Akito threatening Haru, her being locked up withour given any food.... Isuzu is so strong and one of the best build characters in the series and I am super excited to see her in the anime!
6- Hiro Sohma
Time to be a Man by The Airborne Toxic Event - “And it’s time to be a man, Tell me how does that go?”
My bastard childdd <33 He is such an asshole and such a sweetie at the same time. His whole inner struggle of not feeling like a good enough man for Kisa is so heartwhelming and I think it really makes sense to the type of person he is. The flashbacks of him telling Akito how he loves Kisa and the feeling of uncertainty and impotency when seeing the girl he loves being hurt by his actions and wanting to be good enough for her even though he is more than enough sdfghjasd. I am also a softie for older brothers who love their families *cough cough* spoiler alert: Momiji *cough cough* that I love me one angry boi
5- Hatsuharu Sohma
4 Seasons by Rex Orange County - “I saw myself as less and you so high above me”
Cow boil! apart from the fact that I love love loveeee Haru’s design, I think he is also such a well build character! He is not only supportive of everyone (aka the loves of his life, Rin and Yuki xDD) but he is so interesting! His split personalities give him a cool trait (even though dark Haru doesnt appear much in the end of the manga) and I love how he helps everyone and makes sure those he loves are protected at all cost and happy. He is Rin and Yuki’s fan club stan leader and I am co-leader so we been stanning aye
4- Hatori Sohma
Fireflies by Owl City - “I'm weird 'cause I hate goodbyes, I got misty eyes as they said farewell”
Boooooy the next four to come are my absolute favorties and I would die for their happiness and love so *takes big breathe* I LoVE hAtORi sOhMAAa. To be honest when we first meet him I didnt like him much. I thought he was your usual dark deep character who doesnt talk much because he is too cool for everyone (which, he is) and that was that. But boi was I in for a riDE. His story about having to erase the memories from the woman he loves is one of the ones I cried through the most. I put myself in his shoes and wonder if I had to erase the memory of the person I loved the most, make them forget they ever met me, all our happy times, sad times, angry times.... No matter what its one of the most saddening moments and the whole scene is heartbreaking, which makes me love Hatori even more for the fact of how strong he is and selfless. He puts himself before others and he need to know he also deserves happiness and I am glad in the end he got it because homeboy needed a break ;w;. I also adore Ayame’s relationship with him xDD, he is like his idol and big same.
3- Kyo Sohma
This song saved my Life by Simple Plan - “Sometimes it feels like nobody gets me, Trapped in a world where everyone hates me”
Top three babyyyy. We have now my angry cat boi™. I mentioned it before but going into the reboot firsthand without reading the manga nor watching the first anime, I thought Kyo was going to be my absolute favorite character. I knew he would be the angry boi who was soft inside and probably had a tragic backstory™ that made him act the way he did and I am a sucker for those types of characters. And I love Kyo, I really do, specially when we find out more about his struggles and past. The exclusion he felt throughout his life for being the cat, the abandonment, feeling like he had no one and was ready to die because he didn't have any source of genuine happiness (well, apart from Kazuma ya know but stillll). Then he finds Tohru, the girl he promised to protect, the one that reminded him of the woman that helped him out all those years ago and I just.... poetic cinema at its finest. Kyo and Tohru make one of my favorite couples and I love how flustered and In absolute l o v e he is with her and Kyo is great man....
2- Yuki Sohma
Nandemonaiya by RADWIMPS - “Crying even when you're happy, Smiling even when you're feeling lonely”
THIS WAS ONE OF THE HARDEST DECISIONS OF MA ENTIRE WEEB CAREER SO EXCUSE WHILE I SCREAM. Yuki Sohma won my heart and entire soul throughout the series. I liked him from the start but he wasn't my favorite favorite at the beginning you know? I thought he was isolated and thats why he didn't have much friends and he was perfect and what not but boi was I wrong and happy about it. I think one of the reasons Yuki is one of my favorite characters in fruits basket is how much I can see myself in him. Having the constant need of perfection while also wanting to connect with others but finding it hard is something I personally struggle with and every time we learned a little bit about his backstory my heart broke. Everything Yuki had to go through, the rejection, the isolation, understanding that you are loved and not a burden, falling in love with someone, finding that figure of a mother/friend he always yearned for.... The complexity of Yuki’s character is astounding and I love my rat boi so so much.... When he joins the student council, finding his little group of friends and opening up to a more carefree and true Yuki, forgiving those around him and going and eye- YuKI IS MY BABY RAT BOI AND STAN HIM OR PERISH FROM HERE ;w;
1- Momiji Sohma
Eine Kleine by Rachie - “If I were to go through life living just to take somebody else's place, Then I would rather have been born as a pebble, living out my peaceful days “
*Clears throat* *trumpets sounds intensify* *stands on podium* I LOVE MOMIJI SOHMA WITH ALL MY HEART AND HE MUST BE PROTECTED AT ALL COSTS. Thats it. Thats what I want you to get out of this post. I don't know if this is maybe an unpopular opinion-ish but Momiji’s backstory of his mother rejecting him, saying awful things, him having to accept being forgotten by his mother and sister whom he loved, not even being able to live with his family, is one of the most heartbreaking ones of fruits basket. Maybe its like what I said with Hiro and I am a sucker for big brothers that love their families, the sad smile of Momiji, my baby, angel, perfection when he sees his family and not being able to be with them, him loving Tohru but letting her go and be with Kyo because its her happiness that matters to him and I am-..... The selflessness of Momiji and how much of a sweetheart he is, his heart of gold and always being there for those around him, that moment where Akito was looking for Tohru and he got hurt trying to defend her.... Momiji is one of my all time favorite characters. He is a precious bean and I will never not shut up about my love for ma boi <333
Anyways that was long and ramble but I just needed to shout this somewhere because I've been missing they //rip
#anyways uh spoilers#but I love they#bye read fruits basket and come back to me later#t h e m#fruits basket#anime#manga#fruits basket spoiler

Do you have a list of like top 5 tv shows? (Cartoons and anime included)
!!! Yes I do, actually!
I’ve actually thought about doing a YouTube video about this in the past, and while I do want to do list-like videos (and I already have at least one in mind) in the future, I put off doing this one because it actually…depends greatly on where certain shows I currently like are headed because some currently-airing shows would be on this list if they hit their full potential, but who knows if they’ll hit their full potential. Also I always split anime and cartoons into two categories because I always had a hard time picking otherwise xD But I do have some semblance of a list, and I adore talking about this kind of stuff, sooo:
5. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
This spot is kind of a three-way tie between Voltron, Bojack Horseman, and FMAB, all for extremely different reasons. So consider Voltron and Bojack my honorable mentions. But while I believe Bojack’s best is honestly some of the (if not the) best out there, and if Voltron promises through on what they’ve promised it will easily skyrocket up this list, Bojack’s worst is everything I hate about Hollywood and Voltron just has too many holes at the moment. FMAB has the best of both worlds because it has great animation like Voltron, doesn’t have any of Bojack’s bad kind of moments, and doesn’t have many holes in it. (Another honorable mention goes to BNHA, but like Voltron, I just don’t think it has had enough time to develop all the way. Unlike Voltron, it doesn’t really have any holes, but I do have a problem with how strictly it adheres to cheesy super heroes of the past.)
BUT onto FMAB itself. God cmon, its FMAB, do I really need to elaborate why its so great? The characters are compelling, their motivations are powerful and interesting. I could write an essay examining Ed’s character alone, because he has so many interesting motivations and morals that seemingly conflict with his angry disposition, and I don’t even like Ed that much. The story is exciting - there’s basically no filler, and it almost moves too fast at points. I do have problems with the show - as I said, it goes too fast. The only two deaths in the season happen in the first 12-15 episodes of the series, and although I think that’s because the original FMA animated those scenes already, it still fucks with the pacing of this show. Additionally, despite Lust, Gluttony, and Envy all being revealed before, the show introduces a completely new villain - Greed - to introduce the homunculi. And then they kill Lust - the presumed leader of the first three introduced homunculi?? Idk man, the show barrels in a completely different direction way too quickly. But other than that, its a great show. The only reason it isn’t higher is because I’m a biased shit towards other good shows.
4. Teen Titans
Speaking of being a biased shit, idk if it shows or not, but I have a HUGE soft spot for corny kids shows that try to give kids bad laughs and dark/relatable storylines, or rather, have a heart while doing so. Its not so much that I like a balance of comedy and darkness in my shows - although that’s a good thing, I eat pure angst up and I’m all-for pure comedy shows that have the aforementioned heart (ie we bare bears, another good show not on this list) - its just specifically corny pun-ridden teen/tweeny-feeling shows/games that actually have a decent story underneath that get me. (Also my sense of humor aligns much more with shitty teen lingo and puns than modern cartoon humor that’s considered “good”. Like I find Teen Titans 10x funnier than I’ve ever found Steven Universe. I’m a 90s kid at heart even tho I wasn’t alive in the 90s)
But the biggest impact of this show for me was the heart and the plot. The silly moments made me laugh, sometimes iromically and sometimes unironically and sometimes I wasn’t sure how, but it was the story that really gripped me. The first season’s overarching plot for Robin is honestly one of the most compelling things I’ve seen in kids cartoons…period. Its dark, its unique, its a subversion of such a simble and broad trope. Sure it had a nice cheesy ending but Robin actually saves the day through INTELLIGENCE, something he always had. No other Teen Titans ending did that, but I digress.
And god, do not even get me started on Terra’s arc. Just because Robin’s was the most well-structured arc doesn’t mean his was the most emotional. I was fucking distraught after Terra’s season. Those memes weren’t a joke, I legitimately cried right in front of my mom. IT WAS SO OBVIOUS, BUT IN MY BLIND LOVE, I MISSED ALL THE SIGNS… and god, even when she comes back, even when she’s given a happy ending, she manages to make me cry AGAIN. I never, ever thought I could cry over a character like Beast Boy, but she made me do it. I didn’t even cry when Sokka’s girlfriend died, but this really, really got to me. Once for personal attachment, and the second time because…the finale is so good. Literally its Bojack levels of deep, emotional, and realistic, and this was the ending of a fucking kids show. What the fuck. To this day I still get emotional whenever something reminds me of her arc. Which brings me to my next series…
3. Cybersix
Hi so did I mention Cybersix is really good? Because Cybersix is really good. I’m not even done with it but yeah, I love this show. It’s got an amazing art style, great animation, an intriguing story…I have a feeling I’m gonna be really disappointed when it ends because I’ll want to know what happens next so badly. I like the characters, I like the aesthetic, I like the old-timey music that dates this cartoon so wonderfully, I even like the romance between Lucas and Cybersix/Adrian! How’d you make me do that. Oh yeah, because it’s not hard to get me to care about a mutually rewarding relationship that’s gradually built up through a friendship, then an aesthetic attraction, then presumably a relationship but idk yet, where both parties care about one another and their boundaries and have gotten along well since the start. I forgot. (I could nitpick that Lucas doesnt have the same buildup for the relationship as Cybersix [its complicated, basically he’s friends with Cybersix’s alternate persona Adrian but he’s in a relationship with Cybersix, and he doesnt know theyre the same person] but I’m not gonna.) It’s just…a good show man. @ hollywood, reboot THIS you cowards. Stop rebooting shit nobody wanted a new version of and reboot shows that were ended to quickly. Actually dont reboot Cybersix because the only animation studios that would be able to do it any justice are Studio Mir and anime studios, and whoever owns the current copyright to Cybersix would probably be okay using flash for it
2. Digimon Adventure (with a honorable mention to Digimon Tamers)
You can rip my love for the entire Digimon franchise from my cold, dead hands. I’m sincerely surprised any show passed up my love for this show. If/when the currently airing series in Japan gets brought over here, I’ll watch it, even though Digimon has kind of abandoned what made it so great in the first place. But hell, even Fusion was enjoyable - the second arc, from what I remember, was pretty dark and interesting (im still mad they got rid of the two best characters tho) - and the only reason I disliked Data Squad so much is because of Marcus (that and it doesnt have anything else that’s absolutely stunning, in fact from a technical standpoint Marcus is the best thing about the show).
But there’s a reason I put Digimon Adventure here and not the entirety of the Digimon franchise. Digimon Adventure is what started it all. No Digimon season has as much heart in it as the original. Sure the animation improves each season, sure Tamers is probably better story-wise on a technical level, but I dont think any season matches the raw charm of the original. It was so charming, in fact, that what was supposed to be a 13-episode miniseries evolved into a massive franchise that’s still beloved to this day. Hell, there’s still content being released for the 8 Digidestined of this season! It’s right alongside Pokemon, Invader Zim, Hey Arnold, and all these other beloved 90s/early 2000s cartoons that are being revived in recent years, and I think that says a lot.
I wasn’t even alive when Digimon Adventure was airing, but I loved the Digimon games I had played so much that I went out of my way to watch it. And I…loved it. Sad as it may be, it was the greatest TV show I had seen at the time. Growing up in the late 2000s watching only Nickelodeon and CN was not a good period to grow up in, and I never saw Avatar as a kid. By the time the 2010s had rolled around, I had mostly given up on cartoons, and besides, they were all fugly. I still tried to watch some, but just…the humor didn’t grip me, they seemed dumb, and they weren’t pleasant to look at. (Okay the main shows I’m vaguing about are Adventure Time and Regular Show, as well as whatever Nickelodeon was doing but I begrudgingly put up with Nickelodeon for the most part because I preferred Nick and I never knew what else to watch) Then Digimon came around, and hol-y-shit. The characters were like nothing I had ever seen before, the storylines engaging and interesting. Sure it was cheesy, but there was 95% less fart jokes than the average cartoon, a good story, and actually relatable characters that actually go through hardships and actually change for the better!
Digimon Adventure has been and always will be proof to me that no matter what you are, no matter what your show is, you can make a good show out of it. If you get people who care, who can make relatable characters, who can come up with an interesting story, you can make a good show. Digimon Adventure is basically a big long toy commercial, and yet its better than lots of shows that dont even have merchandise - and its also better than a lot of shows that have merchandise now, but weren’t created to sell toys in the first place. I just. Love it a lot.
Also, the reason I specifically chose Digimon Adventure, outside of having a personal attachment to it since it was always my favorite, is because Tamers hecking scared me as a kid and I’ve never gotten over how creepy the last arc is. Like it’s good, but it still scared me.
Honorable mentions: Bojack Horseman, Voltron: Legendary Defender, We Bare Bears, Gravity Falls (thats a big one, it would definitely be on this list if I had 10 spots, and will gladly take the 6th spot if Voltron doesnt follow through or Bojack goes south), Over the Garden Wall, the aforementioned Digimon Tamers ,and Infinity Train might be #2 or at least #3 if it wasnt just a single episode l m a o
1. A tie between Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra
HI SO YEAH if you didnt expect this then you dont know me //BRICKED
Before I explain both, I want to be very clear that I’m not counting them as a single entity. No, I just cant pick between them. They’re two extremely different shows, and I actually agree with people who say ATLA is overall a more-rounded show. Problem is, I watched both during a period of my life where politics and darkness make an extremely interesting show for me (aka the current period of my life) and thus its a very biased and “nostalgic” pick, just like Digimon Adventure. Had I watched these shows when they were airing, I dont know if LOK would even be on this list. Heck Digimon adventure probably wouldnt be on this list since ATLA would’ve held the crown for my favorite show for all those years.
They both have amazing animation and solid writing, but that’s about all they have in common in my eyes - even though they share the same world.
Avatar: The Last Airbender is a kids show. Through and through, its a kids show. That’s not an insult in the slightest though; no, the fact that they can make something so sophisticated and enjoyable that still clearly appeals to children is really a testament to their skills. Many kids shows that try to take on heavier/darker stories feel like completely different shows when they try to do that - shows that arent intended for kids. Voltron and SU are the most notable examples of that, but even LOK has a little bit of that (but in LOK’s case, its the entire show, so I kinda give them a pass lol) Other shows do it okay (Gravity Falls) but really the only show I’ve ever seen match Avatar’s perfect balance of comedy and seriousness is Bojack, which isn’t a kids show so it has an advantage over Avatar.
Avatar’s world is fanciful and larger than life. I’m so sad that I watched Avatar and LOK after my fanfiction days; I would’ve loved to spend nights thinking about a potential Avatar story, complete with my own Avatar and original cast. I could put it before Avatar, after LOK, who knows? but it would’ve been so much fun. Hell I HAVE thought about Avatar stories, but I obviously dont have much thought up on any of my potential ideas.
The pacing of Avatar is golden. How a show wish such good pacing got through Nickelodeon, I dont know, but whatever deal allowed Avatar to go on for three seasons and then end was a once-in-a-life-time deal (as evident by what happened to Korra). Somehow this show came out almost completely perfect, with few or no flaws.
This is the pinnacle of children’s entertainment, in my opinion. This is proof that there’s no excuse for the garbage that makes up 90% of children’s entertainment. The standard doesn’t have to be this, since this is the best, but this show is proof that we need to raise the standard. I wish executives actually gave a shit about quality; if they did, maybe we could get mostly good shows instead of mostly bad shows.
If most shows were half as good as Avatar, the average show would be gorgeously-animated, smartly-written, and really good, even if it had a flaw here and there. If most shows were half as good as Avatar, Steven Universe would be the average instead of a godsend.
If I someday, somehow make a show that’s 2/3rds as good as Avatar, I’ll officially be a good writer. I’d love to make tons of shows just as good as Avatar, but hey, I cant get TOO cocky now lol
Now for The Legend of Korra. Korra has slightly better animation (god i love studio mir) and different but still intriguing worldbuilding. I know a lot of people found the political bs to be annoying, but I actually found it quite intriguing. Avatar did a little bit of exploring moral gray areas and playing with politics, but Korra just goes all-out. I wish the first season’s morality could’ve been a little grayer, but even then, the politics were still interesting. And god, that one scene in the first season finale, the murder-suicide…that’s still a really powerful scene. The entire finale would’ve been super powerful were it not for everything resetting by the end of it, but hey, they basically did the same thing in season 3!
Holy shit though, season 3. An on-screen strangling. Someone exploding themselves to death. And then the finale’s fight. The finale’s fight. The finale of season 3 is one of the most intense things I’ve seen…ever. The atmosphere in that fight is just…so good - combined with the animation and choreography, its just amazing. You can almost feel every hit, you actually feel concern for Korra, you’re legitimately concerned for her life. And you know what? You should’ve been! Because she almost dies, and she has to suffer the consequences of that. The fourth season has a time gap in-between, but even then, she spends episodes trying to fully recover.
In my opinion, the only thing making Korra a kids show is Milo. I’m certain they put him in there because otherwise, it wouldn’t have been allowed to be called a kids show. It’s dark, its intelligent, its beautiful, and it’s going to go right over most kid’s heads. As a kids show it does kind of fail; it just doesn’t really appeal enough to them. Once you’re old enough to understand, say, Naruto or Dragon Ball you should be okay, but ATLA appeals to all ages while Korra really needs a certain maturity in its audience to be understood and to not scare its audience.
They’re just both. so good
(thanks for the ask!!!)
#stormy answers#long post#this took forever to answer but it was w o r t h#i actually have a script for this video now lmao so i could make this video now if i wanted to

Loss/Sochitzu Opinions and Spoilers under the cut
(before I start, to anyone actually reading this i apologize for switchinf back and forth with dub/sub names. I grew up with the dub and am only now getting used to sub names)
Good things first, before I get into my issues with this movie. (because theres more issues than good, sadly)
–Tai and Takeru teaming up to tease Matt is always a win in my book 👌 my musical bi blond son needs to be flustered more often its great
–I loved Gabumon in this ;w; he was adorable as fuck
–Joe fucking LAUNCHED himself at Gennai and it was GREAT. FUCK'EM UP, JOE
–I liked the idea of having different digimon and partners separated from one another. it creates interesting takes and character interactions we dont see often (i.e. Tai and Gabumon, Matt and Gomamon, Joe and Palmon/Patamon, etc) too bad outside of Tai/Gabumon they did little to nothing with it
–Kou and Motimon interacting gave me life like holy shit. I’m glad to see Toei didnt forget about Izzy’s development in the last movie. Also Oolong Tea.
–‘Kaiser Ken’-Gennai literally punched a person with a digimon and i dont know why i am so amused by that holy shit
–“Maybe I can be your new partner” god I’m a fucking sap for mushy shit like that
–The silent film take on the opening was… interesting. It wasn’t bad, but I didnt necessarily love it. It did show us that Maki and Daigo were part of that og group of DigiDestined that we learned about in prevous Adventure series, but I think alot of us assumed that already.
–Yoooo Azulongmon, Zhuchaomon and the other two Sovereigns are relevant again. Last time we saw them was what, Digimon Tamers?
I understand why Maki’s doing what shes doing tho. That doesnt excuse her from all her bullshit, but I understand her motivation now.
Now to the nitty-gritty:
–WHERE. ARE. THE 02 KIDS.
–it was really obvious they were trying to pad the runtime for this. like wow
–so we know now why there was random Tapirmon in the poster
–so Hackmon isn’t Daigo’s partner. I’d been assuming he was.
–Houhoumon/Phoenixmon’s evolution seemed really rushed and forced like… wow that was not the same development Mimi and Joe and Kou got
–also Seraphimon? really? that felt entirely unnecessary. Like, MangaAngemon alone was only seen 3 times in the previous two seasons combined. Also where was Takeru/T.K’s ‘development’? Granted we’ve seen Seraphimon once before, but that was the 02 movie with Willis, Terriermon, and Cherubimon - ergo non-canon
–speaking of the little blond, that sprained/broken ankle sure healed up fast huh buddy
– I know they’re all supposed to be rebooted but Yokomon/Biyomon was just… unnecessarily out of character like christ man
– speaking of the reboot SO YOU’RE TELLING ME THAT THE ENTIRETY OF LAST MOVIE’S DILEMMA WAS POINTLESS AND THE REBOOT WAS FOR NOTHING
–the power of partner bonds overrules the necessity of air underwater, apparently. we all acknowledge that matt and tai basically drowned, right? we saw the air leave them and they sunk to the ocean/lakebed floor, right? did i hallucinate???
–remember when agumon was more than just “can you eat a memory?” cuz this movie sure doesnt
–did… did gennai really need to get all rape-y with Sora and Meiko. like really. what the fuck toei
–this movie kinda fucked up a little with Maki? Cuz like… remember in the 2nd movie when she saw ‘Kaiser Ken’ standing on top of the school roof and was like ‘oh no Meicoomon i need to protect her’ but then now we know for a fact that not only did she know ‘Kaiser Ken’ was Gennai but that she was working with him and has been for some time??? I understand wanting to surprise and throw off the audience, but theres no reason to do that while creating a flaw/plot hole in your character.
–again, in regards to the different digimon with different partners scenario, they had sooooo much to work with in terms of characterization and interactions as well as platonic relationship development but they did practically nothing with it. There was literally a point where I was yelling at the screen because Toei decided to go the no dialogue route when there could have and should have been something there! Like when Izzy started showing Gomamon and Agumon pictures on his laptop! Why did Matt get angry??? was it something someone said??? was it some sort of inner turmoil??? was it simply cuz he missed/was worried about Gabumon and/or Takeru??? WE’LL NEVER KNOW.
–how did Meiko go to the digital world. why does she exist. like… i’m all for new characters, but holy shit just why. why are she and meicoomon a thing. out of the 4 series i’ve seen, I have never disliked a human Digimon character this much.
–please toei, i couldnt give less of a shit about the Matt/Sora/Tai love triangle. I’m not one for shipping discourse, or any bullshit like that, please stop with the bullshit about “oooooh whos sora gonna end up with???” because as much as i dislike it, we all know this is gonna end up with Matt/Sora and Tai/Meiko and Matt being a fucking astronaut
–what the fuck kinda skid to a halt ending was that
***all-in-all, Digimon Tri Loss.jpg was a 3 outta 10 and I’m severly underwhelmed. this felt like a bad fanfic come to life, and I’m worried about these last two movies***

Spoilers !!!! Stayed up so I could watch Charmed 02x01!!!! Spoilers
Non spoilers stuff first.
My reaction to pretty much the whole episode
Y'all!!!!!! Both good and bad! I was just super excited and glad for it to be back. And so shaken by all the changes and the mysteries! So in general I would give this episode 8/10. Only because I save my 9 and 10. But back to my normal format of these things. I'll start with 3 things I liked and 3 that I didnt although, I'd say it is less dislike and more on the fence.
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!
1. Hacy moments
For real's though, Macy's internal Harry has my theorizing mind going off and I loved all the double meanings in thier interactions (macy and real harry too) I mean the" I am not leaving you" was nice, but Delirious-Macy-mind-Harry saying "i am different do you like it?" And Macy being all like "yes".
I mean okay various meanings here
1. Obviously it isn't really Harry so of course mind harry is different
2. Macy's perspection of Harry is changing (level of attraction to Harry is growing)
3.But --I am putting on my theorizing cap on--I feel like since the poison hit Macy but had her trying to go home then 1) mind Harry (maybe possibly evil twin Harry hmmm..) may be trying to seduce Macy to the dark side or to fully embrace her demon side since he keeps telling her to come home or 2) mind Harry is death since she was poisoned and her attempts at following the voice almost got her run over by a car. So coming home is like death saying come back since you were technically dead.
Maybe evil twin Harry, mind harry, or Death as Mind Harry has only taken Harry's form because it is the best way to get to Macy, meaning the internal attraction is already strong). So it is also an ominous "I am different" in that realm.
Who knows? I love the mystery though!
And of course while the poison siphoning scene and the "macy please" is going to drive all us Hacy fans crazy for a bit. My favorite bit of dialogue is actually the last bit before they enter the house. When Macy tells harry there is nothing here and Harry all sexy over the shoulder looks at her and says " are you sure?" . . .
DOUBLE MEANING!!!! At least I took it both as the house, but also at thier relationship. Anyways moving on.....
2. Mel! Mel is queen. I am just gonna say that one of the things I didn't appreciate about the OG was that all the ladies (including super witch Prue) complained about thier jobs and wanted to have some normalcy. And listen I sympathized when it came to thier romantic lives (although most of it was thier own faults), sometimes it was just like "you are literally saving peoples lives, I get needing some me time but can you not act so flippantly over literal life or death of another person". So I really appreciated that Mel was ready to step up and was already acting as a leader. I know people like to compare her to Prue and for sure she shares some qualities, but Mel really is her own creature and has more openly embraced witchcraft and not complained about it (so far) unlike all the OG ladies and her sisters.
3. No powers. Okay? One of the primary issues in season 1 was that the girls were kinda over powered. I felt it was mostly Macy, but arguably Mel and Maggie as well. So now as they have to work to get them back and possibly discover new types of magic or avenues for magic, I think there is room for growth and character development as well as world building that wasnt there before. At first I was like, oh heck no! And no fair Macy is the only one powered! and obviously with either her demon side and/or evil twin Harry trying to get at her (sisters as well) she is going to have another big storyline. I just hope (and I feel confident in hoping this time) that these storylines will connect meaningfully and not just last minute. It feels like they are on a new tract and I am digging it so far
Now on to my on the fence list . . .
1) Witchness Protection. I dont mind the premise actually and think it is really clever. I just dont know how I feel about leaving Hilltown. While Hilltown wasnt really developed much the university was nice and I am sad that Lucy wont be a part of the story anymore given that Maggie cant go back and they basically are super far from home if michigan was 5 hours away. At least they get to keep the house and I assume Harry gets to live there now, unless he move into the base.
2) the Seattle setting. I think that it very much harkens to OG (which was set in san. Fran.). So I was just on the fence on how it was obviously cutting more ties to the OG and yet incorporating others. I think the san fran setting worked because since it is a real place that most people can imagine without ever visiting you can have broad shots do relatively little work trying to establish the setting. Not that it is easy, but creating fictional towns requires more work to be good. You have to establish the towns character the residents and general layout or else it might as well be any town. So in some ways the seattle base and constant travel will be easier than developing a town which will leave some more time to character and lore building. I will probably end up liking it but just on the fence while watching.
3. Evil Assassin's orbing. So I dont know if anyone noticed but it seemed to be a combination of Harry's new orbing effect and the old Dark Lighters smokey effect (arguably parker's shadow demon effect) The center was the orangy (from my screen) orb effect that Harry had (I like it better than the swirling in and out of last season). So obviously leaves lots of questions, and I an looking forward to that, but on the fence because of . . . Reasons. I'll just tell you. While I like the new orb effect better than probably the OG and the first season of the reboot, changing the effects always kind of takes me a moment to get used to. And now that the evil assassin has it's own type of orbing it is just more orbing effects and my brain is gonna take a moment to catch up.
How did y'all feel about it though? My fellow Hacy fans did I miss something? Please let me know what yall took away from it!
New to my reviewish lists (appreciation bullets). Things that I appreciated even though they are either small or not elaborated fully.
Harry still likes a good party! Nice to see Harry while getting more serious slice of the pie than the first half of the season is still funny. And I liked that he liked parties
Demon/witch war. So I mean I listed all the wars a war was the most realistic and natural course in previous posts and I cant believe I missed the one they seem to be going with. Elders offered protection as a government with them gone and whitelighters gone (arguably the hands and feet of the elders) witches are vulnerable to attacks. I new they would be and that demons would attack as the government fell but I was mostly thinking organization wise. I didnt think about the obvious omg witches didnt just lose a governing body they lost the built in protection that body provided which again should have been a DUH! Thing to realize but I miss it.
So the start of a rivalmance between Maggie and Jordan....definitely different from Parker if that is the direction they are heading. I am a sucker for a rivalmance
Love Triangle between dark Harry, Macy, and Harry. . .I didnt know I needed it until now
Wizard of oz reference. Nuff said.

Cartoon asks: ALL OF THEM
THANK YOU SO MUCH OMFG
also i totally didnt fill all these out in advance and twiddle my thumbs in anticipation, hoping someone would send me this ask, nope not at all
1. A cartoon you remember that nobody else does.Back at the Barnyard. That fucking show…oh my god
2. A cartoon you like but nobody else seems to.Well technically I remember liking Back at the Barnyard but I haven’t watched that show since I was like 8 or 9 so idk if I’d like it now akjsfkfkgjh I kinda doubt it now because my bullshit-tolerance-meter for television has significantly shortened. Uhhh the only other cartoons I can think of that I liked that don’t seem to be liked by a lot of people are like…the DreamWorks cartoons (when they were on Nickelodeon and CN that is, I don’t have Netflix rip) and the Lego cartoons (except Ninjago because apparently that has a fandom?? what??) like I thought they were okay at the time at least. (Also I guess the HTTYD cartoon wasnt hated, because it was fucking HTTYD, but //shrug)
3. A cartoon you don’t like but everybody else seems to. ADVENTURE TIME and like everything on Cartoon Network except Steven Universe and We Bare Bears honestly. Like Adventure Time isn’t my cup of tea but I’m like “alright, some of those plots actually seem kind of interesting, I guess I can see where people are coming from” but like… shit like Clarence and Uncle Grandpa?? I’m all for people having different opinions but I don’t know how you can even get past the art style, let alone the writing style and some of the voice acting ;-; you are a stronger person than I’ll ever be if you can get past that lmao
4. A cartoon you wish would be forgotten.Uhhh pretty much everything on Nickelodeon from 2010-2014 (besides the dreamworks cartoons basically) and the shit reboots that CN’s been pumping out (namely TTG and the PPG reboot, but the Ben 10 reboot looks REALLY lazy, so at least it doesn’t annoy me [or I haven’t seen anything from it that annoys me] but…)
5. The worst cartoon you’ve ever seen, and why?Fanboy and Chum Chum, as far as cartoons I’ve actually watched go (because hoo boy, worse cartoons exist out there). Everything about that cartoon is…wrong and broken. It has one style of humor and that’s toilet/gross out humor. The “straight man” so to speak, basically an emo teen version of Squidward, is actually…not Squidward in-show?? Like in the intro he’s very clearly set out to be a grouch who hates the main characters, but in the show he’s just…an introvert that gets wrapped into their plans and only snaps at them when they actually hurt him. The protagonists are annoying as fuck and are psychopaths that deserve to be locked up in a mental institution. It’s not funny. The voice acting is annoying as hell. And the animation is disgusting. I didn’t know it was even possible to make 3d animation look this rendered yet still look so bad, but apparently it is. Like they took extra effort into making the show look WORSE. I will say that its impressive that they managed to get such tooney designs to exist in a 3d space, but that doesn’t do you shit good when the animation is gross.
6. The worst moment you’ve ever seen happen in a cartoon.Directly, as in I was watching the show? Something in Fanboy and Chum Chum. Indirectly, as in I watched a review where they showed the scene or I read about it? Something in Family Guy, or the self-insert in the PPG reboot. Yeah there’s a self-insert in the PPG reboot. Every time I think it cant get worse…it does.
7. The worst thing you’ve ever seen happen to a cartoon that ruined it.I was really neutral on Teen Titans Go (some of the jokes made me laugh but others were really cringey, but it was at least funny some of the time and the art didn’t hurt me as much as other shows on CN, so whatever) but then I found out that they’ve actively attacked their critics in-show and have generally responded very poorly to criticism and…asdf. Like its one thing to stay quiet, it’s another thing to embrace it and say “yeah we know its stupid, but it made us laugh!” (which they did do, kinda), but it’s another thing to spit in the face of everyone who has a problem with it (and not even address their criticisms, like they act like they did but?? no they fucking didn’t??). Like the problem I have with the show is not that it’s stupid. The problem is that the writers say “yeah, it’s for kids, so it should be stupid” (its not even “well it made us laugh” from what I remember), the problem is that the writers never watched the original show and completely ruined the legacy of a show that actually took itself seriously, the problem is that the writers are so fucking high on their horses that they respond to the haters IN-SHOW and LAUGH AT THEM. My problem is not with the show itself, my problem is with the culture it embodies. It embodies the worst of Hollywood entitlement, cheap shithole cashcow shows, cheap reboots that disappoint fans of the original, “stupid because its for kids” cartoons, and basically the worst Hollywood has to offer.
8. A cancelled/forgotten cartoon you would bring back to television.Uhh if nothing happens with Infinity Train then that, but besides that…another series of Avatar (like following a new avatar) would be fucking great but I don’t want to put the creators through the hell that is Nickelodeon lmao. I also thought Harvey Beaks looked nice, like I never watched it but it looked okay, so I’d be okay with bringing that back too if it made the creator happier (honestly the poor creator…nickelodeon treated him really badly too)
9. An animated character you remember but nobody else seems to.Pete from Steven Universe lmao like where did he goJoking aside (SU is too relevant to count for this) uhHHH fuck I guess the characters in the Monsters vs Aliens cartoon? nobody remembers that movie but the show kinda cemented the characters in my mind (I would’ve said back at the barnyard but honestly I don’t remember the characters until you show them to me, besides like the main cow guy, whoops)
10. An animated character you hate the most, and why?Onion annoys me. Like…he’s that kind of character that has no rhyme or reason behind what he does. He’s the kind of character whose entire personality just relies on the kind of Adventure Time-esque humor that I just don’t get or enjoy. The kind of humor that just creeps or grosses me out or bores me instead of making me burst out laughing. The kind of humor that’s physical-based, but just too slow and poorly paced to be funny like slapstick. I don’t know how to explain it, but it’s exactly how Onion seems to me and that’s why I dislike Onion. In Doug Out, for example, Onion has no gross out or creep out jokes, and I don’t mind him as much. Like he’s not a GOOD character, he still doesn’t bother insisting that there’s something else out there when the others disagree with him, but at least he isn’t scaring me. OH AND MARCUS FROM DIGIMON DATA SQUAD I immediately thought Onion because he’s a cartoon character, but since this is just for animation in general…aksdhfgfkj i dont know why I hate Marcus so much, I dont want to hate Marcus so much, but I do. His response to everything is just to punch everything and he’s so entitled and annoying and hotheaded and aAAARG HES JUST INFURIATING, I DIDNT THINK IT WAS POSSIBLE TO BE THIS MAD OVER A CHARACTER THAT ISNT FUNDAMENTALLY BROKEN BUT HERE I AM
11. A non-animated property you would like to see as a cartoonidk if this counts because it’d have to be an anime probably but FOSSIL FIGHTERS CHAMPIONS!!! LITERALLY I WOULD CRY IF THIS WAS MADE INTO A MANGA OR ANIME PLEASE @ NINTENDO MY FAMILY IS STARVING but seriously can you imagine like….you could have a mute main character (its implied that the protagonist talks a few times but they could be selectively mute or just mime and the dialogue could be rearranged appropriately) and if you choose the female protagonist you could make her gay for Pauleen??? Like I refuse to accept the male protagonist as the “canon” main character bc I want gay sorry. BUT LIKE!!! You wouldn’t have to write that much bc its already written!! and its really fucking ridiculous and would probably appeal to like…TTG-loving kids because its so silly asdf BUT ITS ALSO GOOD, IT HAS HEART, PLEASE THIS IS SUCH A GOOD IDEA like its not a good idea for manga/anime because it IS kinda ridiculous and childish but?? it would fit so well as a western cartoon??? Hey Nintendo can you please give me a license to produce this because I swear to god I would if I could
12. A trope or trend in animation that you dislike.Well there are a lot but they aren’t exclusive to animation…? "Blonde popular bitch" and “damsel in distress” have been two of my personal most-hated for all my life because of who I am/was, but there are others I dislike too. I also really hate the kinda…style that Adventure Time set up in cartoons. Like I guess AT isn’t really responsible for ugly-looking cartoons and the type of humor that I dislike, because looking at CN before it aired there were already shows like that (Chowder, Flapjack…) but I think AT really popularized them and :/ it also reworked the same concepts in Chowder and Flapjack and people were like “WOWEE CARTOON RENAISSANCE !!!” and I just kinda….idk. I have a lot of personal baggage against AT lmao sorry AT fans, like I don’t even hate the show and not all of its effects were bad (not in the slightest) but like TTG I have issues with some of the things it popularized.
13. A currently airing cartoon that you know is going to be forgotten about in the future.Hmm, We Bare Bears maybe, or like Mighty Magiswords. Like CN plasters Mighty Magiswords everywhere but nobody gives a shit about that show so I feel like its only a matter of time before it disappears yknow?? but maybe im wrong. WBB doesn’t get the attention it deserves so yeah. Also maybe that Bunsun is a Beast cartoon over on Nickelodeon? im not sure man
14. The best episode of a cartoon you really like. The Southern Raiders (that’s only one of my favorites tho, like?? The Puppetmaster is tied for first in that season, and that’s just in that season, not including the other two seasons of ATLA)
15. The worst episode of a cartoon you really like.Rocknaldo or any episode centering around Onion, e u c k
16. A cartoon you feel deserves more recognition than it gets.Uhhhhh fuck everything I watch is mainstream cries WBB isn’t that popular and like its a cute, perfectly fine show, but its not like…revolutionary
17. A cartoon you feel deserves less recognition than what it gets.ADVENTURE TIME, also s/o to Regular Show, Clarence, Uncle Grandpa…like those last two aren’t even universally liked but sorry I still think they get too much praise asdf
18. The worst idea you can think of for an animated series. It already exists and its called One Ounce Mouse, but honestly adult cartoons in general are…a bad idea. Like if you’re just gonna use your adult rating to offend people instead of using it to be insightful or using it to be ACTUALLY FUNNY, what the fuck are you doing with your life? You should be fired tbqh
19. At what point did you realize a cartoon, any cartoon was starting to get bad?I can’t remember when I realized SpongeBob was starting to get bad, but it was sometime around 2010 or so. I remember getting really sick of the show when it went to HD/fullscreen because for some reason, all the new character designs got…significantly worse?? Like the season premiere of that season (cant remember which season it was, don’t care to look it up) had three new characters and they all looked…so fucking ugly? It was really hard to look at? Like seriously they looked like something out of Sanjay and Craig, not SpongeBob. Even the main character designs just…looked too smooth and rounded and not good to me. It reminds me of like Family Guy and i dont like that overly smooth, “we have too much money so we blew it on extra in-between frames instead of good-looking art” style. I think the final breaking point for me was Squid Baby and the episode where Gary got overly attached to a ball, and realizing that after an episode that actually was kinda legitimately nice (it was the one about Plankton getting a pet) they were never going to bring up Plankton’s pet again and ugh. Like lack of continuity is nothing new but I really wish he had kept the pet, it was the best thing to happen to the show in literal years. Like seriously that episode was the best new episode in years, it was legitimately cute even though I had a beef with some of the character designs (as I always did in that season)
20. An experience with a cartoon you thought you were going to like but turned you away from it.I tried watching Bee and Puppycat the other day and it really….put me off….because it had more of that Adventure Time style humor and I legitimately thought it interfered with how the plot should’ve progressed. Like Bee was way too okay with everything and we didn’t get any explanation for anything because instead she just made weird noises and bit a monster’s tongue off. I’m still gonna watch the other episodes for the heck of it, so maybe I’ll change my mind, but eh
21. Something you would like to see more than anything in a cartoon. It already exists and it’s called Avatar: The Last Airbender + The Legend of Korra
22. What do you feel makes a cartoon forgettable? That’s….actually a really good question. Because like, I would’ve forgotten about Adventure Time years ago if it hadn’t been drilled into my head that everyone else thought it was the best thing ever and I didn’t. I might be off my SU high by now if I didn’t keep reblogging/reading SU-related stuff on tumblr lol. I guess blandness is what makes your cartoon forgettable. If its not so bad that it’s funny/everyone needs to insult it, but its not good enough that it gets good reviews, then there’s just…no place for your cartoon, especially if its not profitable so it gets cancelled quickly.
