I’m Valerie! I’m a college student who’s been working on this one story since I was 15. I’m 20 now. It’s called mindscape. Here’s the leave behind I wrote for a class:

Mindscape is a psych horror following the lives of the psychologists and interns who work at the Crisis Elimination Clinic. Patients are admitted into the CEC in place of a baker act where their minds are literally gone into by interns, psychedelic style. The game takes place in 2045, exploring the psyches, or mindscapes, of various patients. A strong focus is on the interns and the psychologists, and how they feel concerning their roles at this corrupt clinic.

I really care about this story and honestly leaving asks and engaging would make my day. Genuinely. I actually adore thinking about this and talking about this so I thought I’d finally make all of this its own blog. I’ll be reblogging my posts from my main about this for organizational purposes.

y/n (she/her) is Professor Umbridge's niece and had transfered to Hogwarts when her aunt got a job as a teacher there but what no one knew is that Umbridge is abusive towards y/n (she uses the same method she used on Harry Potter in the movie: to write something on a piece of paper and it magically engraves on the back of your hand with cuts) for a while no one noticed and thought that she was just shy but one pearson, Draco Malfoy, a fellow Slytherin, noticed her hand one day in potions class and asked to talk to her privetly in the Slytherin common room and that's when y/n opens up about the abuse and that's when she finds out that Draco had took a notice of her ever since she arrived, but she didn't notice because of her shy and scared demeanor.

Something that will always be so heart breaking, but so well done in the show Band of Brothers is the integration of the replacements and how they are sort of a gauge for how bad things are going.

More under the cut bc I’m not sure how long this will be.

Exhibit A: Babe Heffron

He’s one of the replacements who is almost immediately integrated bc of Wild Bill. Here’s how he looks in the episode Replacements:

Adorable, clean cut, happy

And then there’s him in the Last Patrol:

He looks years older, but it hasn’t actually been that long, only a few months.

And he’s not the only one.

Exhibit B: Antonio Garcia and Lester Hashey

While Hashey and Garcia aren’t in the Last Patrol (or quite as much of the show as Babe) for comparison, their contrast comes in Why We Fight.

Here’s them in Replacements:

And by Why We Fight, Perconte refers to O’Keefe as a “D*mn replacement” in front of them, bc at this point *they* are no longer replacements

(I couldn’t find a good picture from this scene so take my cruddy screen shot)

Here Perconte treats Hashey and Garcia the same way he treats Luz and Martin, and they treat him the same. They are no longer children that Frank feels the need to ignore, they are brothers now.

None of this stuff is huge or mind blowing in the way its shown. Its subtle and quiet and in the background. And so many things can be inferred from it:

1. The stuff these men have gone through is so bad that they don’t consider non-taccoa men who were there as outsiders anymore

2. These replacements (several of them who were incredibly young) grew up over the course of a few months in the horrors of war

There are more, but I could go on for hours about the beautiful artistic work done in Band of Brothers (maybe I’ll make a post about how the Last Patrol is the Easy Company’s lowest point physically).

Point is, War is Hell, and the replacements in Band of Brothers are a subtle and artistic way the show communicates that to the audience.
