everyone trying to own trump about the "he doesn't know sex isn't determined at conception" thing really fundamentally does not understand what the point of that was, and learned basically nothing from his first term. he is not invested in scienve, biology, or any rational discussion where his provably false beliefs would be subject to scrutiny. he is signaling to everyone in the country that it does not matter what you say, he will never care and he will take every action to enforce these views and embolden his followers with the same rhetoric. you cannot logically talk to a person like this when they are reasoning with emotion, not logic. you cannot dunk the transphobia away. someone post the vonnegut quote.

Is that a book? Or a comic? Who's the author?

I'm finding a few books by that name, but one is an autobiography of tiger woods, and the other is about abuse - neither of which sound connected to the post you tagged 🙈

Tiger Tiger is a webcomic!! usually you can read it here but hiveworks is kinda broken rn? but hopefully it should be fixed soon! Tiger Tiger is also going to be added to webtoons if you'd like to read it that way! You can also read the first volume physically if you're willing to spend money (I have the hiveworks version and it's great!!)

The story is about a girl who disguises herself as a man and steals her brother's identity, ship, and crew in order to travel the world and study sea sponges. It's got a lot of religion and paleontology intertwined, and it's very funny and gay. Ludo might be one of my favorite female characters in like, anything ever, and Jamis is a delightful himbo who's in the middle of a bisexual crisis.

Fun fact, in the book, it's explicitly stated that Sophie is a wizard like Howl and has a magical gift for speaking things into existence. Wish they added that into the film bc it explains SO MUCH and adds to the theme that her thoughts were shaping her reality.

There's one scene where she's fixing Howl's jacket and says it looks like it's built to attract ladies. And then SUDDENLY women are swooning over him.
