quite a few trolls have physical characteristics reminiscent of their lusii, like gamzee's pupils. how does that happen? do lusii pick grubs that look like them, or are grubs influenced physically by their lusus? is my mental image of tiny baby slitherbeast verato accurate?

This is one of those things that I'll often go back and forth on depending on what seems most fun for the things I'm writing lol.

I think I tend to settle on a combination! it makes sense to me that if part of your life cycle is having a huge semi-feral animal thing adopt you and raise you as its own, it would be good for your species, kind of cuckoo-like, to have a certain amount of mimicry for creatures of their color, to make them more appealing and familiar to potential lusii. 🤔

It's also very fun to me, as a slightly out there xeno aspect, if having a specific type of lusus around when you go through first pupation from grub to something more independent could influence some of the traits of your new body!

....the concept that despite all the societal and species differences between humans and trolls, you could still look at a troll and go "...you look like your dad, lol" is incredibly charming to me in a way I don't know that I can articulate. :D

Scale and scar ref sheet for my FFXIV WoL Sinkur Avankol!

Scar info under the cut +his old ref sheet: (SB/ShB/EW Spoilers)

SB: During the second Zenos encounter with Yugiri, Zenos dragged his sword along Sinkur's chest with the intent to scar. Since the blade was cursed, healers weren’t able to properly mend it. Sinkur despises this scar, it only serves to remind him of his own weaknesses and Zenos’s obsessive behavior towards him. 

ShB: After consuming the aether of the lightwardens Sinkur’s arm began to change. It started with light scarring across the palm of his hand that eventually transformed his entire arm after defeating Innocence. It continued to spread until he finally killed Hades and dispelled the excess aether. Though no longer at risk of turning, his scars and ‘beast-like’ arm are a cruel reminder as to just how close he was to losing everything. He hides these scars when he can.

EW: These scars are from the onslaught of scythe attacks he endured during his final Zenos fight. His heart stopped due to these injuries and though he lives on the gnarly scarring left behind displays just how bad that fight was. He comes to learn to accept these scars as he felt he got them by being strong rather than too weak. He’s glad they cover a majority of his past Zenos scarring.

This ref was made a while back and is super outdated, but shows how his scars and hair altered throughout the expansions!

4. mythical creature you think/believe is real?

unfortunately im quite a skeptical person so there's none that come to mind. and i say unfortunately bc i actively wish i believed in mythical creatures and stuff, but i just can't and im mad about it

my first idea would be to raid the nearest supermarket for everything it's worth, but honestly id be too scared of being murdered and i know for a fact id bombproof my house and just hunker down with a bread knife

26. how's your spice tolerance?

GOD AWFUL. found out the other day that i have a fissured tongue which is just so slay and definitely what i want from life BUT it can contribute to having a lower spice tolerance and im clinging to that for dear life bc it's actually fucking embarrassing how badly i handle it
