Although Genocide the son of Apocalypse had been defeated, it was a hollow victory for the remaining Chosen Mutants. The remaining Chosen Mutants turn on Mister Sinister as they are angry with him for betraying others and causing the "deaths" of Exodus and even Lin Li. However, they cannot kill Mister Sinister on the spot yet because the crowd of bystanders are watching them. Dani Moonstar talks to the distraught Emma Frost while Cypher tries to calm the crowd of Egyptian bystanders by speaking in Arabic language. Then, Gorgon calls them over as he finds the hidden tunnel underneath the street. Gorgon and Laura Kinney figure out that the hidden tunnel is another part of the secret passage to Apocalypse's hideout.

As the Chosen Mutants move on in the secret passage, Cypher tries to read the code but he unwittingly activates a booby trap under the floor. Cable snaps at Cypher for nearly endangering them with his curiosity. Just before Gorgon could clear away the spiky trap, Mister Sinister throws a control disk at him. Laura Kinney notices Sinister's trick and stabs him but it was too late, the control disk hits Gorgon at the side of his head and it makes him go berserk. Cypher is knocked off the bridge by the mind-controlled Gorgon. Fortunately, Forge is there to pull Cypher up. Laura and Cable fight the mind-controlled Gorgon until Dani subdues him by firing a psionic arrow. Emma Frost and the others try to go after Mister Sinister but he throws a grenade near them and it blows up the bridge. Emma, Laura and the unconscious Gorgon are caught in the blast and they fall off the crumbling bridge. Just when Mister Sinister thought he could get away with his nasty schemes, the falling Emma Frost uses her telepathy to force him to jump off the bridge. Meanwhile, Apocalypse and Archangel are in the secret lair where he reveals something. It turns out that Lin Li, Rictor, Monet, Exodus, Gorgon, Emma, Laura and Sinister are kept in stasis and they are alive all along! Apocalypse explains to Archangel that he teleported them to the stasis pods when they failed (or "died") in their tests.

The mutants consisting of Rictor (Julio Richter), Dani Moonstar, Gorgon (Tomi Shishido), Monet St Croix, Mister Sinister (Nathaniel Essex), Cable (Nathan Summers), Armageddon Girl (Lin Li, formerly known as Nature Girl), Exodus (Bennet Du Paris), Laura Kinney, Cypher (Doug Ramsey), Forge and Emma Frost are chosen by Apocalypse as he puts them the test to see who has what it takes to become his successor. They work out and bicker at the same time as they go through a series of tests and booby traps in the tomb.

so marvel topp's has been having these throwback thursday events. and this week's is -- very excitingly!!!! -- the inhumans!!!!!!!

which is REALLY FUN!!!

the only problem being the comments that aren't people asking for trades are almost exclusively ppl complaining about the fact that the inhumans have a set.

and also! more than that one problem! these are meant to be the same cards as the old set, but with like a special filter. which sounds fine. except that this:

is not gorgon's common card, due to the fact that this is not Gorgon Petragon. this is actually tomi shishido. a mutant who goes by the gorgon.

and THIS:

is not black bolt's common card. this is not black bolt. this is so not black bolt that this specific image, in comic, is a panel of him revealing himself to not be black bolt.

i know marvel kinda hates the inhumans but they messed up TWO of the ten cards by mixing up characters,,,, 😭

Immediate LAD:IW Thoughts

I am so glad that there was a post credits cutscene because what the fuck was that ending immediately post kiryu boss fight.

I was FULLY expecting the daidoji to be the main villains. With kiryu being choked on their leash and the plot points in gaiden i thought he'd break his hold on them. What the fuck happened also that gave kiryu his name back.

Speaking of main villains Ebina felt so neglected. Why yap on for 10 minutes about how hes actually ichis supposed half brother when its not even ichi who's fighting the fight. It just felt like random additional information in a game thats already so long and chock full of information. I correctly predicted he was the final boss from the instant i saw him though. points for me.

Additionally as much as i love ichi with all my heart jesus christ hes fucking stupid regarding eiji. For us to last see him throwing a fucking child down the stairs into a supposed bomb, to him then being all sad in a random ass room. He did not have the time or the character moments to be redeemed like that in my opinion. I know ichis whole thing is redemption no matter what but for EIJI?????? I found him so fucking despicable from the faking a disability thing to the child endangerment. That fucking smash cut to ichi going to his house or whatever to help him felt like WHIPLASH.

Despite its very weak ending in my opinion the journey was more than phenomenal. Chiitose and Tomi were written amazingly and I was not expecting to like them as much as i did. Props to rgg for giving the right amount of time to each party member. The interpersonal relationships between all of the party members was definitely one of my favourite things about this game. The pacing in this game (aside from the ending) felt absolutely amazing too. there was no point in the main story where i was like "ugh this is dragging on too long".

WHY THE FUCK WERE SUGIURA AND TSUKUMO IN THIS GAME. THEY SHOWED UP FOR 2.4 SECONDS JUST TO FUCK OFF FOREVER, WHY?

Speaking of missing characters i was kind of expecting shishido to appear at some point. given that the daidoji clearly had a use for him. (crying at my daidoji being the main villains theory falling flat)

i'll definitely have more thoughts on this as i stew on it more but finally for now:

the ichi end scene with saeko was everything. im so glad he could set things straight and also be so fucking stupid goofy at the same time.

and WAILING at the idea that kiryu can finally see haruka again. so sad we didnt get a full onscreen reunion but honestly the best ending for this game. he looked so so old at the end <3 was it chemo?
