Time’s Gentle Embrace
Shawna Loree
Poetry
In the shadows of time's relentless tide,
I find myself upon life's turning ride.
The days have slipped away, like fleeting dreams,
And I'm left here, caught in the twilight's gleams.
Oh, how the years have etched their mark on me,
Each line a testament to what once was free.
My spirit, once vibrant, now treads with care,
Amidst the weight of memories I bear.
The mirror reflects a face I scarcely know,
A map of life's journey, where wrinkles grow.
Eyes that once sparkled with youthful fire,
Now hold a wisdom, born from deep desire.
As the seasons pass, like whispers in the wind,
I ponder the lessons that time has pinned.
Regrets, like echoes, haunt my weary soul,
Yet resilience and hope still play their role.
I miss the days of boundless energy,
When dreams were born with youthful synergy.
But now, I seek solace in the quiet hours,
In the grace of age, where wisdom flowers.
For growing older can be a bittersweet place,
A tapestry of moments I cannot erase.
The laughter, tears, and all the love I've known,
Have shaped the person I have proudly grown.
With each passing day etched upon my face.,
Embracing the beauty like fine lace
For in the sundown years, there lies a truth,
That age can bring forth blossoms from our youth.
So, let the sands of time continue to fall,
For I am not defeated, not at all.
I'll greet each day with gratitude and grace,
And cherish the wisdom that time does trace.
For growing older, though it brings its strife,
Unveils the treasures hidden in this life.
And as I forge this path, I’ll enjoy the ride,
I'll find the strength to age both with elegance and pride.

Remember when she was Irish? What about part-Maltese? Oh and how could we forget ADOS BLACK!
Today, thanks to Wannabe Activist & Soho House closet homosexual, Misan Harriman, who has a chip on his shoulders the size of a boulder, the Meg is also NIGERIAN.
Misan's father (Chief Hope Harriman) became a wealthy British - Nigerian businessman who amassed wives and even more children
Perhaps Misan's genealogy is the reason The Meghans feel comfortable denying the existence of any Markle "siblings" as Misan was born to an unacknowledged woman
Although Misan carries his father's last name (Harriman), Misan is never formally named amongst Hope Harriman's children and is viewd as a bastard child of the Anglo-Nigerian
Misan and his Black Activist Sistah Space friend Marlene Headley aka "Ngozi Fulani"
MEgain pays Misan back for her 'pay to play' debts w/an appearance in her Finding Freebies book. She acknowledged his fledgling website & his job as administrative support to the global BRITISH POLO DAY :
2014 Divorced, cheating on Chef Cory & making a beeline to the BRF via Sparry
MEgain rejected the help of every assigned mentor including Lady Susan Hussey
Misan became a "photographer" JUST IN TIME for MEGXIT & MegFlix. These 2 photos are unedited, doubt they were published by the fraudster, Misan Harriman

My favorite pictures of Antarctic explorers giving each other haircuts!!
Roald Amundsen cutting Emil Racoviță’s hair on the Belgica :3c the Amundsmile and Wacky Racy make this an instant classic. Love!!!
Anton Omelchenko cutting Patrick Keohane’s hair on the Terra Nova expedition. Anton looks like a real professional here, I’d let him trim my bangs
Endurance haircuts all around!!! On the left is Frank Wild cutting (presumed) Lionel Greenstreet’s hair, and on the right we have Thomas Orde-Lees giving Tom Crean a haircut! It must have been haircut day aboard Endurance, & there are plenty of cute details in this one, including Alexander Macklin patting Leonard Hussey’s freshly shaved head (to the left & in the back)
Henry Rennick cutting Dennis Lillie’s hair on Terra Nova!!! Yes… this is my favorite. Rennick’s dramatic stance and Lillie with his little feet up on the railing…. Cute!!!!
The moral of the story being, of course, if you get a bunch of lads together on a boat bound for Antarctica, they’ll inevitably start cutting each others’ hair for fun. Dudes rock

Hi,
I make period drama style gifs. If you use gif packs, please like and reblog them. Most of my projects are already ready, but every day I post no more than 190 gifs. Because that was the reason why my previous account was blocked.
I tried to make gif packs in a format more familiar to you with a link to a separate page. However, unfortunately, I did not succeed because of the large format of high-quality gifs.
I want to explain about color processing. Usually, I improve the contrast, brightness and saturation, but leave the naturalness of the film. I don't make the contours too sharp because I like the aesthetic of it looking like a natural image.

internet racists are so mad about a black woman playing juliet opposite tom holland as romeo. comparing her looks unfavorably with olivia hussey claire danes etc. nevermind that tom holland is not exactly visually pleasing himself. and ofc they defend their racism as a concern for historical accuracy, which just makes them sound dumb imo - historically accurate to when? the fictionalized version of verona where the play takes place? shakespearean england, when all the women would have been played by males? like i just feel like most of the people complaining have never voluntarily seen or read one (1) of shakespeare’s plays

okay! i have an announcement!
i don’t know how many of you in the tgg fandom outside of the gatsbin know this film exists, but there was a version made in 1949, starring alan ladd (jay), macdonald carey (nick), barry sullivan (tom), betty field (daisy), and ruth hussey (jordan)
it’s certainly interesting, and not super accurate to the book (dialogue tags scott, dialogue tags, PLEASE DEAR GOD scott you’re confusing people). this movie went through a lot of screening because of the hayes code, and a lot of stuff was taken out. it was also made more of a gangster/film noir type film—alan ladd, had, to that point, made mostly film noirs, and was starting to get into westerns, so that doesn’t help with accuracy.
BUT.
i can’t find a copy of any sort of script for it online. my goal, over christmas break, is to create a script of at least the dialogue, the setting and maybe some of the mood the music gives. perhaps some important actions if there’s no dialogue ( ex. jay punching a guy, the first flashback giving historical context etc)
so! my christmas break is the 23rd to the 8th, and my hope is that i can have this out before i go back to school. i’m not sure where i’m going to put it, but it will be posted on this account, and perhaps ao3 if i can figure out how to post a script sort of thing there.

CC— Ngozi Fulani accusing Lady Susan Hussey of racism is a hit PR job by Meghan. Dan Wooton has tweeted several examples of NF accusing the RF of racism over Meghan. Tom Bower's "Revenge" quotes Lady Hussey saying Harry and Meghan's marriage will "end in tears." It's the Caribbean tour all over again. Theresa Longo Fans tweeted recently BP is launching 2 investigations, one possibly into sugars/bot farms who disrupted the Caribbean tour. Meghan will do anything to disrupt W&C's trip to Boston.
Hi Nonny,
I thought it was a set up. A person with manners, in that situation (if what was reported was the complete truth), simply is polite to the elder and then may mutter to their friends about it afterwards. They certainly do not go running to the press to make a big fuss about it. I agree with the thought that the person in question went to the event looking to be offended. Definitely one of Meghan's flying monkeys, imo. I am glad that at least one reporter is calling her out on it.
Edit: Since I wrote the above, I have read at least three different versions of what happened, so who knows where the truth lies. With each version, what was said by Lady Hussey becomes more and more innocuous and less and less aggressive. I still think that being polite to an elder trumps crying to the press about racism, but that may be just the way I was brought up. I also still think this was a set up by a Meghan Markle fan who went to the event looking for something to expand into a scandal.

Two Houses, One Fate
After a recent discussion of the colourful Thomas Steele and the fate of his former home (see Honest Tom « The Irish Aesthete), it is now worth turning attention to a significant, but insufficiently recalled, figure in late 18th century Ireland, Dr Thomas Hussey. Born in 1746, owing to restrictions imposed by the era’s Penal legislation, Hussey was sent to study at the Irish College in Salamanca,…
