Vito Corleone: His old ass unironically really enjoys this movie. His grandkids probably made him watch it, and he immediately liked the story and the music.

Carmela Corleone: Likes the story and the music and is a sucker for romantic movies. She's also a fan of Meryl Streep (has watched all her movies).

Sonny Corleone: Fucking loves this movie! (Has seen all three movies) Forces everybody he knows to watch it. His goofy ass is also the type to watch the movie once and think boxing is easy.

Tom Hagen: Tom likes to watch this movie in his free time. (cries every time)

Also I flubbed a little bit on the Widsith trivia. Wyrmhere/Orm wasn't the one who asked Dietrich to help avenge his father. That was Wulfhere, known as Ulf van Jern (Wolf von Jern). In the Danish and Faroese ballads, King Dietrich sends his knights Wudga, Heime, and in Danish another Dietrich, theorized to be Dietrich the Greek from the Rosengarten zu Worms, to aid young Wulf in killing King Blikiman in revenge. Orm in contrast fights either a giant from Bjarmaland, or Dietrich himself imagined as a pagan giant, to defend the Danish king's daughter (the giant is called Bermrisi, which seems to be a mix of "giant from Bern" and "giant from Bjamaland"). He wins his duel against the giant by striking at his enemy's leg, and when he's accused of hitting below the bet, replies that this is the only way he can fight, because he's so short and the giant is so tall. He then goes to Iceland, kills the giants who killed his father, and then comes home to marry the Danish princess.

Wulhere and Wyrmhere are unique in that they're attested as Dietrich's champions in ancient sources, but their legends only survived in Scandinavian balladry (or their names were well-known and new legends were made up to suit them after the old ones were forgotten). Unless, of course, you take Wulfhere to also be Wolfhart, which would give him an independent Continental corpus of stories.

And while Dietrich gets less focus in Scandinavia, the ballads still give him a circle of knights. In fact, Dietrich is the de facto king figure of the ballad's version of the old sagas, so Gunther, Gernot, Volker, and Hagen are all his vassal knights, and as we all know, there's ballads that cut out Gunther altogether and make the love triangle between Hagen, Sivard Speedy-Swain, and Brunhild. There's alos Wudga and Heime, and Ulf and Orm, and besides that a little dwarf/goblin Tom Thumb character named Mimering who might or might not be the spirit of Wudga's sword, and a (possibly illegitimate) son of Volker's, called Sonne Folkerson. Though there was apparently a historical outlaw called Sonne Folkerson, and folklorist don't know if this is an authentic legendary character or an attempt to bring in a historical cameo. And then you get knights who are appended to his circle from independent sources like Ogier the Dane, Raavengaard, Count Genselin, and Svend Vovend.

And while I'm here can I just mention how much I love Tom Hagen and Johnny Fontane's relationship in the book? They're like a couple of kids together. They really don't like each other, Tom is jealous of Johnny's relationship with Vito and Johnny resents Tom from keeping him from The Don but they have to spend a lot of time talking together regardless. Their scenes together are some of my favorites.

YES. It's so subtly funny, I love how they're just barely tolerating each other XD. Imagine how much more salty Tom would have been after he had to take the trip to Woltz's place and get insulted on Johnny's behalf 😭

Streaming Series Review by John Smistad   Episode 1: The Investigators (Part 1) Yngvild Støen Grotmol is brilliant as lead investigator Jorunn Lakke. Key events playing and replaying in the mind manifesting as if they are actually happening before her in the real world, while at first disorienting, become absolutely chilling as this gripping opening episode unfolds. Lakke and her team contend with few clues, withholding details from an increasingly hounding media, a shell-shocked adult daughter desperate for answers and a husband who seems less than panicked about the whole affair. An unprecedented case for the police, what is initially believed to be a kidnapping for cryptocurrency ransom gradually evolves into a dreaded potentiality feared by all. *Personal Life Predicament: Lakke’s retired-cop father succumbs to dementia. Episode 2: The Journalists Into the fray enter the scribes. The mainstream media often take a shellacking in the US.  And quite often it is richly deserved. While I’m not entirely certain if this is how the Norwegian general public looks upon their country’s journalistic community, it’s a decent bet based on this production that they harbor much in common with many Americans’ attitudes toward The Fifth Estate. Much of this episode plays like the 1976 Watergate docudrama “All The President's Men”, complete with a hard-nosed reporter, Erlend Moe Riise (a quietly intense performance by Christian Rubeck) whose dogged efforts to uncover the truth about this baffling missing person case are covertly aided by his very own “Deep Throat” character. This series chapter ends with a perplexity. What in the hell was that brown envelope Riise just watched Tom Hagen remove from the mailbox? As matters become more and more curious… *Personal Life Predicament: Emotionally scarring Daddy issues and a newborn baby for Riise. Episode 3: The Lawyers And what would any crime story worth it’s gavel be without everyone’s favorite punching bags, those ages-maligned attorneys at law (Sorry, you conscientious counselors out there. Nothing personal, certainly. And, likely, nothing you haven't heard before). This third episode is highly reminiscent of a pick-any-script from the decades-running “Law & Order” TV franchise. It is well over a year now since Anne-Elisabeth Hagen has been gone. Everyone involved looks drawn, worn down and out and older than they should. At the sacrifice of sleep and his family life, Tom Hagen’s defense attorney and former Oslo cop Svein Holden (a smoldering still waters run deep turn by Henrik Rafaelsen), and some slick legalize maneuvers and mechanizations (are there any other kind?), the one who they say done it done gets sprung from the pokey. And it’s right back to the rapidly-shrinking drawing board for the confounded men and women in blue. *Personal Life Predicament: Heavy bags under Holden’s eyes and the loss of precious time with his wife and young daughter. Episode 4: The Journalists (Part 2) Aleks Zaretski (Victoria Ose) is an altruistic newspaper reporter and editor. She is driven to look at Anne-Elisabeth Hagen’s disappearance and the manner in which the police are investigating it, from a 'warts and all' perspective. However, her superiors are not on board with this no-kissing-up approach. But Zaretski’s cohort at the periodical, Erlend Moe Riise, whom we met in Episode 2, begins to believe she is on to something. And it just may be something big. Perhaps potent enough to crack this long-since stagnant case wide-open. And he sets out to do something about it. *Personal Life Predicament: We see Jorunn Lakke come to an institution to fetch her father, whose mental faculties have deteriorated alarmingly, and bring him back home per his wishes. The Finale. Episode 5: The Informants The police are beyond desperate. This frustrating and enigmatic case now involves law enforcement agencies from several countries. With nowhere else to turn, they partner ever so warily with a wretched rat’s nest of vermin and vice for any shred of information that may finally help solve the vanishing of Anne-Elisabeth. You had overly protective parents and Sonny to keep you out of trouble. Needless to say, dating was a tough question as part of the Corleone family. You could be spoiled -- sure, but your oldest brother recognized a malicious man kilometers away and they always ran away before even making a move after being threatened by him.

Frustrated with your love life, you started paying attention to the man closest to the family, sometimes it was the errand boys that usually delivered messages to your papa.

Things changed when you saw Tom for the first time after he enrolled in law school. He was talking to Sonny about his return when he spotted you across the room. Tom flashed you a smile that still gives you butterflies whenever you remember that sight.

You'd never considered Tom to be a potential lover, mainly because you grew up together as adoptive siblings. However, seeing him for the first time after spending a couple years away from each other sparkled something between the two of you.

You'd stay up late talking about many things and he would tell you about his experience with college. After a few drinks, his hand would touch yours and his eyes would stay on your lips during many late night talks.

Your first kiss happened late at night after a few doses of whiskey. His lips clashed softly on yours in a slow but passionate kiss. Tom pulled you to his lap and brushed your hair behind your ear while pressing kisses to your jaw and lips.

Eventually, stolen kisses became part of your routine. Whenever there were no signs of prying eyes, Tom would grab you by the waist and give a peck on your lips.

The change in your behavior didn't go unnoticed by your papa. He noticed how you waltzed around the house and the glances you shared with Tom. It didn't take long to put two and two together.

Vito trusted Tom as his own son. Yet, talking to him and understanding his intentions was a must. He still ended up giving his blessings to the relationship — although it wasn't so serious at the time.

After your father's approval, Tom finally had the nerves to ask you out, which you gladly accepted. You both had dinner at a luxurious restaurant and the ride back home was full of passionate declarations for each other.

Sonny, on the other hand, noticed your absence during the meal. It was a family tradition to have a full table; however, you and Tom were missing.

When asked about that, Vito just waved his hand and told Sonny, "let them be”. The oldest son couldn't shake off the feeling that you might be out with a guy and come home late at night, maybe drunk or responding to the guy's advances.

So he waited at the entrance, checking for any signs of your car. He occasionally looked between the curtains, impatient for your arrival.

Sonny was on the verge of gathering men to search for you when you arrived. He couldn't get a clear look on the guy's face but he was ready to jump at him so he rushed to the front door.

Tom had you in his arms while kissing you but the sound of the door opening startled you both and you shied away from each other. Sonny carried the judgemental look on his face, his eyebrows furrowing the moment he recognized Tom.

"All this time I worried about my sister and you were the one wooing her!"

He sends you to your room while having a "men's" talk with Tom.

"Off!" he yells when you give Tom a goodnight kiss before rushing to your room.

"So, you and (y/n), huh?" Sonny asked, waiting for Tom's excuse while placing his hands on the hips, visibly frustrated and conflicted.

"Sonny, I love her. After all these years, you've seen it," Tom tried to reason with him.

"Yeah, I know." He didn't. He never thought you would look at each other differently. It was even worse to not know when things have changed. "You're still my brother and I trust you won't do anything to harm her. But if I ever hear anything..."

Sonny still wanted to have the upper hand, Tom thought.

"I would never hurt her, Sonny. You have my word."

The oldest one patted the youngest's back as an encouraging act for both and led him inside the house.

Although Sonny wants to stay mad at you both, mainly because he feels he was the last person to know about you two, he just can't.

Tom has always been like a brother to him, even before he was adopted into the family. You — you were his little sister. How could he ever get mad at you? After fights, you two would just hug each other while he just took all of your curses and all would be fine.

He ends up accepting your relationship even though he still feels weirded out whenever you two are in the room. It is easy to forget you're no longer adoptive siblings but a couple.

Hi there 😊 this is the first chapter of a fiction that has been sitting in my drafts for months since I rewatched The Godfather, but I never thought someone would be interested in a Tom Hagen x reader so I never posted it. I hope you enjoy it!

Summary: Coming back to the Corleone family after so many years brings back a lot of memories, not only for you.

The distant sound of tarantellas and the cheering from all the people felt like home.

What excited you the most was the anticipation of what would be Connie's face when she saw you: after 10 years away and many letters exchanged, you'll finally be able to hug your childhood best friend. It seemed like it was only yesterday when you would get together to fancy singers and actors, or go on holidays and sneak up to watch boys.

The Corleone house brought back a lot of memories of your childhood, playing with the two youngest siblings of the family while your fathers took care of their business. Your father was loyal to them; so loyal he took his whole family to a different country after things had spiced up between the families.

Resentment filled your innocent heart at the time, but you had since become a woman who enjoyed her newfound home in Buenos Aires.

"Connie, my darling, look at you!" your father raised both hands in excitement, looking at the bride.

Behind him, you seemed to be a child again; trying not to chuckle under your big hat, waiting for the bride to get close enough to surprise her.

"Mario!" Connie hugged him tightly "I'm so glad you could make it. May I ask, who is this?" she looked behind him.

As soon as you took off your hat to show yourself, Connie let out a squeal so loud it could break glass. Both embraced each other tightly for a long minute.

"I can't believe you're here" Connie whispered into your ear.

"I wouldn't have missed it for anything in the world," you smiled.

The family -and therefore, the business- had grown since you last had been there. Your father had soon left her alone to catch up with old bats while Connie had to greet more guests, so you felt like an outlander.

Though the sea of new faces you couldn't name, a familiar one came across with a charming smile. Mike, who you once only thought of as your best friend's annoying little brother, was now a full man and soldier, even with a beautiful woman by his side.

"Mike!" you cheered and waved your hand. He smiled in response and quickly walked over you with the blondie following his side.

"Nina, is that you?" he frowned with his mouth open in surprise.

After introducing both, he began explaining how you were acquainted to his family -as he did it with everyone his girlfriend, Kay looked at-

"You know, when Connie first started school kids were mean to her" he gazed at his sister "but before we could do anything about it, a girl from her class had already humiliated the boys' wits" he raised his glass from the table the three of them were seated.

"Really?" the woman, Kay, looked between the two.

Before she could answer with modesty, her father joined them with a loud and long greet to Mike.

Sitting on his chair, Vito stared outside the window of his office. With this quantity of guests, it was expected that a lot of them would want to ask favors. Two men had already been there, accepting that they would have to do the same when the family asked; the baker and the mortician.

"Mario Scaglione is here" The godfather announced with a hint of surprise, staring at the man outside.

"And with a younger wife, it seems" Tom approached the window to take a look "I'm sure he'll request to see you later. After all, he has been away for years"

"No," his father raised a finger "I request to see him, but first Michael"

Tom just nodded, already walking out of the office to find his brother. Through the hundreds of voices and noise, he heard a laugh so melodic yet so genuine he thought he was about to face nothing below a movie star.

Approaching Michael he realized its owner was no one but the woman accompanying Mario Scaglione, and he took a deep breath before walking to them. He wasn't going to repeat the Luca Brasi incident.

"I'm sorry to interfere" he flashed his best polite smile.

"Oh, Tom! Come 'ere" Michael greeted his older brother.

"Mr. Scaglione" Tom shaked his hand "Ladies"

He stared at her for a split of a second and she could feel the familiarity in his blue eyes. It was enough for her face to turn red, but she could blame the summer sun. She turned her stare to Kay and smiled sheepishly.

"The old man wants to see you" he patted Mike's shoulder "And then you, Mr. Scaglione"

"You don't mind staying with Nina for a while, don't you?" Mike took Kay's cheek in his hand.

"Not at all," she smiled softly.

"I'm sure we'll get along soon" you winked.

Raising his eyebrows, he quickly turned around to be followed by both men. Turns out Scaglione hadn't got himself a sweet cherry after his wife's passing, it was none other than his youngest daughter.

A few memories of you running around the house playing with his youngest siblings, or later reading women's magazines in Connie's room came back to his mind. You were a couple years younger, and him being a teenage boy didn't look at you twice.

As his tall figure left your eyes followed his every step, until a small giggle snapped you out of her thoughts.

"Oh, I'm so sorry" Kay apologized shyly "I just-"

"There's no need to" you smiled warmly "He was my first crush, I hadn't seen him since I was a kid, that's all"

It was the truth: every time Connie would invite you to play at her place was the perfect excuse to take a few glances over the Irish boy.

When you finally reached your pre-teens, it was hard to look away from him. On a specific holiday both families spent together, you recalled how you would look at him with doe eyes while asking him to explain the dumbest things.

You shook your head at the cringey memory, it was the last summer you had spent with them. Tom, even as a young man, was stern as he seemed to still be: not a single smile had crept his face when you tried to approach him back then, and in part, you were grateful for it. You were too young, to immature.

"Connie, they will hear us!" you whisper-yelled.

"Not if you stop talking!"

Both were sneaking behind Tom and Sonny's bedroom door, waiting expectantly to hear the male-gaze they had on women.

"She was stunning! You should've seen her, knockers the size of two oranges, and her stare said 'kiss me and take all my clothes'!" Sonny's excited voice said.

"Yeah, whatever you say" Tom retorted. He was as well composed as now.

None of you could help but chuckle at the story, and suddenly the door busted open.

"Get out of here, you bratty kids!" Sonny shouted.

You turned around to run chuckling, and for the first time, you saw the blond boy crack a half-smile too.

A long sigh escaped your lips for the thousandth time as you only kept nodding at whatever Connie was saying. You just couldn’t pay attention to the conversation anymore; your boredom was far greater than any other feeling you had now. Business meetings felt like a slap in the face and these type of “family fraternizations” were always a hard pass for you, as you very much preferred a simple afternoon coffee with your mother-in-law, no shady men in fancy suits whispering to each other. Still, you were compelled to accompany your husband every now and then. You had a reputation to maintain even within family, after all. 

“C’mon, (y/n), I’m sure you’re gonna love it!”, it’s Connie’s voice once more, pulling you out of your thoughts. 

You shake your head slightly. “I don’t think it’s a good idea, Connie. Michael won’t like not seeing me here.”��

“Oh, please, it’s not like we’re gonna miss anything”, she waves her hand in a sneering gesture, pointing with her chin in the direction of your husband’s office. “Besides, they’re working now. Michael’s mind is clearly elsewhere, he won’t even notice you’re gone.” 

You couldn’t help but sigh this time. Connie was just too persistent for her own good. You take a look at the wooden door to your side and nod briefly, giving up. “Fine. But we’ll be back before eleven, you hear me?!” 

She only smiled triumphally, already making her way out the mansion while you followed her suit. A rush of excitement rushed through your body as you got in her car, driving off to God knows where. You liked Connie because she was fearless, reckless, even a little bit crazy at times. She was truly a breath of fresh air from all the tension surrounding your family, you even considered her one of your best friends. So, despite not knowing exactly what she had in mind, you trusted her. Besides, maybe what you needed was really just a quick get-away.  

A little party never killed nobody, right? 

Before marrying Michael, you had already been a friend of the Corleone family for many years. When Vito died, you became much closer with Carmela; they both always treated you like a daughter, after all, long afore you got engaged to their son. The boys and Connie even used to joke about you being the “female Tom Hagen”, especially Tom Hagen himself, while flashing you a warm smile whenever you were around their house. You always thought he was the kindest Corleone man — as ironic as that may sound, since he was adopted —, so you found pleasant being referred to as such, although the joke was now but a good memory from the past.  

As time went on, it only made sense you’d end up marrying one of their sons one day. Don Corleone was never really subtle about wanting you to “birth him some grandchildren”, as he liked to say. Michael eventually proposed to you when he got back from Sicily, not really taking anyone by surprise, what with everyone’s revelation that his endearment to you had been no secret from the start. It was such a beautiful ceremony, you still remember Vito’s happiness to this day... But ever since he passed away, things started to change. Mostly with Michael, of course, as he was now the head of the family business.  

You have no quarrel with his line of work, never had; however, you would be lying if you said it sometimes didn’t take a toll in your marriage. Most notably in the past few months, where you’d both often find yourselves in a pointless argument about the stupidest things. You liked to think it had little to do with your relationship per se, and rather his stressful job, but at times it felt as though you weren’t happy as a couple anymore. He became more possessive by the day, even going as far as ordering you around like one of his henchmen. And although you did not like that, not one bit — especially because you were raised to have dignity, something his own father had taught you on many occasions —, as his wife, you had to oblige and understand your position. And you did, heaven knows.  

But God, was it tiring. 

��We’re here!”, Connie announces happily, parking in front of a modest building. She glances at you briefly before getting out of the vehicle. “Oh, it’s been so long since I’ve come here. I found this place right after I left Carlo. C’mon, let’s party!” 

You chuckled at her almost cartoonish excitement, accompanying her up the three steps that lead toward the door. You didn’t know that neighbourhood, and to be honest it didn’t feel very safe, but Connie seemed to be familiar with the surroundings, so it couldn’t be that bad. You trusted her, after all.  

The door slowly opened and caught your attention. You were greeted by a woman in her fifties, probably, and she offered a warm, even motherly smile to Connie. They both hugged tightly and you raised a brow, still lost as to who that was and where you actually were. The lady then measured you up and down before clapping her hands in a pleased gesture, coming to give you a hug as well.  

“Mrs. Corleone, what a pleasure! Welcome, welcome!”, she patted your back in enthusiasm, looking at you with content eyes. “Come on in, make yourselves at home.” 

You blinked once, still taken aback by her display of affection to you when you had never seen that woman in your life, but she didn’t seem to notice or mind it. You watched as she made way for you to come inside and Connie readily grabbed your wrist, pulling you to follow her around. The door closed behind you and you were in what it seemed to be a living room of sorts. You exchanged a look with Connie and she nodded happily, unable to hold back her delight. It only got you more curious.  

The smell in the air was nicotine, incense and alcohol. There were two red couches next to each other, just in the beginning of the corridor, and both looked ancient. The walls were a dark, almost faded shade of brown, and the infiltration was blatant on all of them. You all walked past the living room, towards the hallway. As you got to what it looked like an office of some kind, a chatter coming from upstairs only got louder. There were laughing and singing, so you took it the “party” your sister-in-law talked about earlier was certainly taking place up there.  

“Connie, what...”  

You’re cut off by the woman stopping in her tracks, urging you both to do the same. She is still grinning while staring at you. “Would you like separate rooms?” 

“Yes!”, Connie says, turning to you. “You’ll be fine by yourself, (y/n), won’t you? You’re a grown-up", she has a mischievous look on her face. 

You frown, bothered by all of that suspense. “Connie, what is this place?” 

“The finest brothel in town, my dear!”, the woman chimes in. 

Your eyes widen in panic. “The finest what?”, you gasp and Connie only chuckles at your disbelief, waving her hand. “Connie, you said it was a party.” 

“Well, it is!”, she shrugs, then glances back at the lady. “We’ll take two separate rooms next to each other. Apparently Mrs. Corleone here has been married for so long, she forgot how to jolly up.” 

“I am absolutely not...” 

“You don’t have to have sex with anyone, silly”, Connie cuts you off. “It’s just for the laughs!”, she then giggles like a child, which only makes the situation more obnoxious in your head. Still holding your arm, she adds, “c’mon, Dorothy will show us the way.” 

You couldn’t believe what was happening, but you couldn’t stop your legs from following them upstairs either. There was a sting of sordid curiosity in your chest, and with it being wrapped up in that same rush of excitement of doing something different for a change, your brain just wouldn’t order your body to turn around and go back to your husband. You tried to remind yourself it was merely for the laughs, at last. No one would ever find out anyways, especially not Michael; so, you were safe.  

You arrived at the second floor only to be met with a couple of women standing there. Each one of them had some cheap, dirty dress, contrasting with their beauty. All eyes fell upon you and you felt your cheeks heat up. You avoided their gaze to look back at Connie and she bore the same amusement as she pointed to the last door in the corridor, encouraging you with a nod. You scoffed, shaking your head. This was such a stupid thing, rich and respectable women posing as prostitutes only for the jokes, but you still couldn’t deny that you liked the little feeling of adventure growing inside you.  

“Have fun!”, Connie says as you walk away from her, causing you to roll your eyes in a mix of irritation and mirth. 

You opened the door and everything was dark inside. You supposed there wasn’t any “client” yet, so you simply made your way to the empty bed, sitting on the edge. It was surprisingly inviting and soft for a brothel’s furniture, making you lean in on the pillows and sit more comfortably. For a moment you closed your eyes and pretended you were back at home, in your own bed, waiting for Michael to come out of the bathroom and take you as passionately as he used to, before your relationship started to struggle. You couldn’t even remember the last time you made love with him that felt really good, and not just something to get you both off for the night. He was a busy man, you knew that, but having to constantly share him with his work frustrated you to no end as of lately.  

The doorknob made a sound and you jumped in your spot, sitting back on the edge of the mattress in a swift movement. Anticipation ran through your whole body when you saw a silhouette approaching in the darkness, closing the door as it was swallowed fully by the blackness inside the room. The man’s footsteps were like drums in your ears, following the same rhythm as the rapid beating of your heart.  

You cleared your throat while he stopped by the bedside lamp, right in front of you, and your breath hitched as he turned on the light. You stared at each other with a rather comical shock at first, a stretching silence around you. Tom’s mouth still hung open when you got up and stood face to face with him, so close you could take in every single note of his strong cologne. It made you feel almost dizzy.  

“It’s not what you think”, you are the first one to speak, widened eyes as you blink nervously at him. “But please, don’t tell anyone”, you add, and the desperation in your voice sounds too pathetic to your own ears. 

Tom merely nods. “I wasn’t gonna.”  

And just like that, all your worries seem to disappear into thin air. Suddenly his hot, heavy breath against your lips is the only thing there is in your senses, similar to liquor warming every inch of your body as it streams down your throat. Your hands automatically land on his chest and his reaction is instant, pulling you into an urgent kiss without another word. Initially, you’re unable to think of anything else other than the pressure his tongue puts on yours, sweeping your mouth at an agonizingly slow pace. But as soon as you need to part ways looking for air, reality comes crashing down on you. This is your brother-in-law, for Christ’s sake. 

What are you doing? 

“This is wrong”, you choke, shaking your head quickly as you back away from him. Tom himself doesn’t look the least distressed, but then again, you can’t remember ever seeing him out of his usual collected demeanour for any reason; even in moments of pain and panic, as they are so common in the family business. You hug your body protectively, avoiding his piercing gaze that right now is just too calm for your liking. “I’m only here because Connie brought me”, you begin, not wanting to blame it all on Connie, but it was technically the truth. “I wasn’t going to... Nothing was going to happen. It was just for the laughs”, you can’t help but let out a miserable chuckle, your last words but a whisper as if even your brain couldn’t believe them anymore. 

“I’m not accusing you of anything, (y/n)”, his voice is soft as a lullaby, ironically causing your insides to turn. Tom then takes an experimental step towards you and you hold your breath involuntarily, the maddening feel of his lips still lingering on yours. He laughs lightly, probably amused by your poor control over your emotions. “I already told you I’m not going to say anything, I would never do that to you.” 

“I believe you”, you sigh in defeat, finally giving up. Your shoulders slump and Tom takes the signal as an invitation, taking another step closer to you. His face is against the light now, but it somehow highlights the design of his jaw. It’s breath-taking. “Tom...” 

“You kissed me back”, he points out matter-of-factly, and you feel your cheeks burn. His fingertips touch your face and now it’s impossible to escape his dark eyes. “Why?”, comes the unexpected murmur, making you frown slightly. 

“You know why, Tom”, you offer him a small smile, trying to find any lingering doubt in his orbs. You don’t. “The eyes never lie, do they?” 

He shrugs, gripping your waist again as he pulls you close. “Let’s find out now.” 

Then it comes again, that wave of anticipation drowning you before you can even get to the surface for air. The kiss is as desperate as the first, hard, and his weight presses you against the bedroom door with a loud thud. It hurts a little, but you’re more focused on the way your whole body tingles when his hands roam your bust, squeezing and caressing every inch of skin they find in their path. His mouth tastes like cigarettes and alcohol on yours, yet his movements are as sober as it gets. Cold, long fingers grip at your sides and you put your legs around his hips in a tight hold, reflexively.  

Your dress is violently pushed up and your underwear is swiftly put to the side, exposing your core to the coldness of the room. A moan escapes your lips as Tom enters you with no delicacy and he finds your swollen mouth for another deep, wet kiss. You both wanted this, there wasn’t really need for any ceremonies. And the eyes in fact did not lie; not with his sweaty body trapping yours in such an urgent pounding, not with the way his breath mixed in with yours from time to time, making you share the same hot air. He let out a quiet groan when your walls tightened around him and you smiled briefly, not being able to hold back the loud sounds leaving your own mouth when his tongue went towards the spot between your breasts, painting it glossy with his saliva.  

“Fuck, fuck!”, you blurted out, digging your nails on his shoulders.  

His hips were crushing you against the wooden door now and you were sure the thud was blaring enough to be heard outside in the hallway, but you couldn’t care less. He thrust one, two, three times more and a third wave of anticipation hit your body, while you trembled in his arms before going absolutely limp. Tom came right after, splashing the inside of your thighs in white colour. You stayed with your legs straddling him for a few seconds, trying to catch your breath.  

The silence between you was somewhat pleasant and you let yourself forget everything, for that moment: Michael, your marriage, the family business... All that mattered now was how tender Tom’s hands were caressing your hips under the dress mindlessly, while his face was buried in your neck. His mouth was still pressed to your skin, but it did nothing there. No kiss, it just lingered on your pores. You felt a shiver up your spine as your eyes met his again, only to find there not a single drop of regret or shame.  

Tom then left a quick peck on your collarbone, seeming to be entertained by how your chest rose up and down. “Are you okay?”, he speaks softly, waiting for your answer with no rush in his bearing. This was nice, you reckoned, how so much different he was from your husband. Michael’s calmness was calculating, cold, intense; Tom’s was soothing. You appreciated that right now.  

“I am”, you murmur, with heated cheeks as you remember the position you’re both still in. “Are you?” 

Tom looks away for a moment, seeming to think of his reply. Then a faint smile paints his lips, and you just know. But he asks, anyway, “can’t you see it in my eyes?”

just a random ask but what kind of girl do you think each of the godfather characters would go for? like personality wise, who would like the shy and obedient so or the outgoing and dominate (but not exactly dominate, i forgot the word for it LMAO) ones?

Okay, me and @beatlebabe1996 were talking about something similar to this just the other night! I have a few thoughts on this and these are just my opinions but I'd love to hear other's thoughts on the matter too.

Michael: I think Michael would find feisty and strong women incredibly sexy! That being said, Michael is old fashioned and would probably expect a certain level of obedience from his s/o. Basically he loves when you sass him and show your feisty side and it will always rile him up but at the end of the day he needs to feel like he's in charge.

Sonny: Sonny would probably go for two different types of women. He loves a confident, flirty girl who he can be playful with and can go back at him when they argue. He has such a big personality that he enjoys a woman who can balance him out that way. He also would enjoy a sweet, quiet type of girl who he would love to try and rile up and he would love getting to see their more outgoing side or make them blush because it would make him feel special to be the person who can get that reaction from them. Opposites attract and all that.

Fredo: Fredo is such a tender soul he would need a sweet, caring girl who will protect his heart and be gentle with him. I see him with a quiet type of girl who is very observant. But also I think he'd be attracted outwardly to girls who are witty he can have a good time with. This is very specific so I hope it made sense! Haha.

Vito: Much like Michael, I think Vito would find a strong and passionate woman very sexy and attention grabbing. He needs someone as passionate as he is and a strong partner for the hard times in life he knows all too well. But while Michael would think it was a turn on when his s/o sasses him, Vito would probably enjoy seeing them stand up for others and being more demure and shy with him. Something about having to work for their attention and making them blush would just get to Vito.

Tom: I envision Tom with a girl very similar to himself, smart and witty. Someone he can bounce ideas off of and strategize with when necessary but who he can also banter with freely. She would also have to be very big hearted and independent to both understand and be okay with how much time Tom has to spend with the Corleone family.

Meeting and Dating Tom Hagen

-  Everyone in town knew about the Corleone's, you yourself had heard the occasional rumor or story from friends and coworkers but never in your life would you have imagined you’d meet one of them. 

- When your parents told you they were going to meet with the Godfather you didn’t believe them, or at least you didn’t believe that they were serious. You would soon come to realize that they were when you arrived home from running errands, only to find the families Consigliere sitting at your kitchen table. 

- Your parents enthusiastically introduced the two of you as the man stood to greet you. You had the overwhelming urge to pinch yourself as you shook his hand but instead you excused yourself, trying your best not to look as stunned as you felt. 

- It took him about a month or so to work things out with your parents. In that time, the two of you began to make occasional small talk, mainly when you walked him to the door or while your parents did something in the other room. You were also able to have a few conversations over dinner as your parents would invite him to stay and eat with you. 

- You were more than grateful for his help, finding him to be quite sweet and easy on the eyes; if you did say so yourself. He himself grew to be quite infatuated with you but out of respect for your parents and his usual favor towards not mixing personal life with business, he waited until he was finished with helping your parents before he finally asked you out on a date. 

- For your first date, he took you to a restaurant you’d never been before, some upscale, beautiful place that you could only assume was the usual for him and his family. He, of course, paid for everything, telling you to get anything you desired. 

- All delicious food aside, you really fell for him that night. Without your parents around, you could get a real good look at his true personality and boy did you like what you saw. He was intellectual, poised, polite; refined in a way you weren’t quite used to but particularly enjoyed. You felt like the luckiest girl alive when your night ended and he asked to schedule another date. Unbeknownst to you, he felt like the luckiest guy in the world when you immediately agreed. 

- The two of you shared your first kiss on your fourth date. It was the middle of October and the two of you were taking a long walk through the park together. He stopped to fix your scarf for you but instead of doing so right away, he paused for a moment, looking into your eyes before pulling you closer and pressing his lips to yours. 

- There was no way you could turn back now, and your certainly didn't want to.  

- Tom tries his best to be professional whenever he’s out in public so he tends to limit how much he kisses or touches you. He prefers to save his affection for when you’re behind closed doors. 

- Kisses on the cheek. 

- Candlelit dinners. 

- Occasionally being walked out on when important business comes up. You don’t hold it against him, you knew what you were getting into when you started dating him, but you do wish business could pick a more convenient time to show it’s face.

- Growing close with his sister and sister in laws. You ladies have to stick together, especially when your husbands/boyfriends ditch you to do whatever it is they do when they’re with one another. 

- He loves going clothes shopping with you. He likes to sit back and watch you try things on or get fitted, it gives him the chance to admire you and wonder how he got so lucky. 

- Having a hand on the small of your back whenever you're standing beside him. He does it so much that you feel a little uncomfortable without the familiar warmth there. 

- Trips to the cinema. He’s quite fond of movies, they let him analyze things just for fun which is much less high-stakes than what he usually uses his skills for. 

- Museum dates. 

- Theater dates. You always get the most amazing seats.

- Deep discussions. He likes intellectual conversations, subjects that make him think, not just mindless small talk. He gets talked at most of the time or is busy dealing with things he can do blindfolded so being able to come home and have a genuine conversation is borderline therapeutic. 

- Fixing his hair and adjusting his clothes for him. He thinks its sweet when you fuss over him. 

- He’s an absolute gentleman, if there’s a chivalrous thing he can do then he’s going to do it; its just in his nature. 

- You’ll have whatever you want, whenever you want. Pretty much anything you ask for can be yours, within reason, of course. 

- He calls you things like “darling” and “honey”. He prefers more old school, sort of matrimonial pet names. 

- Waking up to soft kisses. 

- Tom is shrewd; he notices everything. He sees the way you look at certain things, what’s important to you, etc. He takes whatever he sees and stores it away for when he needs it; you may forget about it but he never does. 

- Having little notes left for you when he has to go off on business in the middle of the night or when you're out of the house. Even though you hate not being able to say goodbye, you do think it’s cute that he takes the time to let you know where he is. 

- Forming little routines and holiday traditions with one another. His particular favorite tradition is your yearly carriage ride through central park during the winter season. 

- He prefers quiet nights in over anything else. He’s never been one for thrills or adventure; a cup of tea, good book, and you snuggled into his side is more than enough for him. 

- A very nervous first meeting with his parents. Despite the fact that you’re scared shitless, they seem very fond of you. Vito in particular has a soft spot for you, he’s very happy that you’ll be joining the family one day. 

- Big family affairs; you certainly have to grow accustomed to Corleone parties, they’re a bit more extravagant than you’re used to.

- Family dinners. You find it touching that they want to include you in their more intimate get-togethers.

- He’s basically your shadow whenever you’re together, always sticking close and keeping an eye out for you.

- Pretty much all of the Corleone boys; which, at least to me, includes Tom, are very protective of their girls. No ones going to touch, threaten or even look at you the the wrong way if they have any say in it. And who would dare to cross a Corleone in the first place?

- He’s usually the silent kind of jealous, watching the scene with growing irritation but, for the most part, allowing you to do whatever you please. He doesn’t feel the need to be jealous all that often though. He knows that pretty much anyone in your general vicinity would intervene if the person was trying something with you. 

- He’s good at keeping his polite composure so you often don’t have any idea how he was/is feelings. All you know is his warm smile as he greets you, winding an arm around your waist. 

- Like previously stated: he’s good at keeping his composure which either helps to calm you down when you’re going through something or only makes things worse. Either way, his unfazed nature does, at some point, reassure you that things are alright even if it initially didn’t. 

- He always wants you to come to him when you have a problem or want to make a decision. He wants to be able to support you and help you through things; he hates the idea of you mulling over something stressful all by yourself. 

- You’re definitely treated a lot nicer by people; strangers watch out for you, shop owners become friendly with you, etc. It’s like the whole world’s suddenly accepted you. 

- Your parents are very happy with your choice of boyfriend/potential (well, almost guaranteed) husband. Your mother probably brags to her friends about how her daughters involved with the Corleone's Consigliere. 

- He loves coming home, pulling you close, and being enveloped by your familiar perfume. Its the perfect way for him to wind down after a long day. 

- Occasionally accompanying him on his trips. You obviously stay at the hotel while he goes off and negotiates but you don’t mind having a little bit of alone time in a lavish room. 

- You cuddle in the sweethearts cradle: your face on his chest and his arm wrapped around your shoulders.

- He seems like the type of guy who would enjoy being in the company of dogs so the two of you probably adopt one together. He takes great pleasure in calling you their mother. 

- Getting to hear all the stories from his childhood. He always gets this adorably fond look on his face whenever he’s speaking. 

- Comforting him after deaths in the family and other awful news. 

- He tries to keep you away from his business as much as possible, not wanting to upset you or potentially get you in the crossfire of something. 

- He uses a lot of flattery. Oftentimes he’ll say something sweet when he knows he’s upset or disappointed you, it slightly lessens the blow but never fixes things completely. 

- Toms a lawyer, he’s a good arguer and he’s particularly good at getting what he wants so when you're arguing its almost a sure thing that he’ll win. Not that arguments happen often. 

- He's surprisingly sensitive; certain things cut him deep, especially when they come from the people he cares about. Be kind to him; he deserves it. 

- He says “I love you” sparingly but he shows his love through his actions more than his words. 

- Obviously there’s a marriage in store for you. He’s hoping for a couple kids as well so be prepared for that. 

- You may have a bit of a chaotic life in store for you but I’m sure you wouldn’t change it for the world and neither would he.
