The Beans got a nail trim yesterday and the sister Solveig was very happy.

The Mung Bean decided payback was in order and he would trim Mom the sister Solveig's feet. I think he is starting a bit high...

I hate taking care of my toenails.

But I also hate how awkward I feel getting pedicures.

This lady doesn't know how to move her feet! She can't figure out how to put the armrests up and down! She doesn't know if "5 more minutes" means "wait 5 minutes for them to dry and then get up and leave" or "I'll be back in 5 minutes when they're dry to guide your shoes onto your feet"

So just imagine Snorky having to face the prospect of getting his toenails trimmed, never mind that the most common sort of trimmer in this regard is unlikely to work considering their size. Let alone wondering if Drooper and/or Fleegle were declawed.

Just have to ramble about just how important it is to work on cooperative care with your pets. I just trimmed my dogs toenails, two bitey GSD’s that have never hesitated to use teeth, one weighing 100 lbs, one 65, and the only trouble I had was Tassie kept blocking my view by licking my face. These dogs compete to see who gets their nails trimmed first, even though they both HATE having their nails fiddled with, because they know they’ll get rewarded for cooperating with me. It’s just SO important to teach your dogs to allow you to handle their feet, and inspect their ears and mouth. I remember when Reese was a puppy and managed to get a whole-ass popsicle stick wedged into his teeth and carving into the roof of his mouth, and he constantly gets bits of shredded toy stuck in between his teeth: and he’ll just let me open his mouth and remove them.

If there’s anything to teach your dogs, cooperative care is it.

any animal we bring into our household gets exponentially weirder and i used to wonder if it was just our taste in pets but honestly it's just that when you listen to your animals and are delighted when they express opinions you end up with pets that are unafraid to be bizarre little gremlins and it's fucking hilarious.

Genuinely annoyed at how quickly my nails grow. Every other bodily function is fucked up somehow, but this one random thing that a lot of people would kill for but gives me in particular sensory hell, is what works.

My nails grow quickly, strong, and seldom break. Now I love the AESTHETIC of like, medium long nails, but the actual feeling of them make me want to rip my fingers off.

And I like having painted nails but often the nails grow faster than the polish even wears off so o end up ruining them by cutting them
