It's Time! Welcome to TodoIzuOcha Week 2024!

After some planning behind the scenes (and Mod Cal dealing with carpal tunnel), we've finally set everything up for this year's TodoIzuOcha Week! It will take place from May 13th to May 19th to ensure that everyone has enough time to create and celebrate!

Our rule post will be coming out in the next few days. But as a refresher, make sure to properly tag for any blood or gore, try to keep things sfw, and tag your manga spoilers if there are any! Remember to use the tag #todoizuochaweek2024 in the first few tags of your post and tag us at @todoizuocha-week so that we don't miss your creations! Please try to include in the description what prompt(s) you're using!

Shoto’s birthday tends to be a simple celebration. Large specials have never been his thing, preferring to spend the day with those he genuinely cares about, the ones who genuinely care for him.

A typical Shoto birthday starts with lunch with Rei, Fuyumi, and Natsuo, enjoying the familial bonds over cold soba and a few other traditional dishes. He may not have been able to spend much time with them growing up, but he treasures being able to connect and get to really know them.

The next part of a typical Shoto birthday is a late dinner with the rest of Class A, which also doubles as a private party. Whenever one of their old classmates has a birthday, they all try to take day shifts to be able to meet up later that night, and Shoto is no exception. They all share cake and gifts, reminiscing on memories and stories involving Shoto. The parties never last more than a couple hours, allowing everyone to go home and rest up for another day of work.

The final part of a typical Shoto birthday involves returning back to the apartment he shares with his romantic partners: Izuku and Ochako. They don’t do anything particularly fancy together, simply enjoying enjoying each others’ company as Izuku and Ochako pepper little kisses on Shoto to make sure he knows he’s loved. He returns their kisses, thanking them for being in his life and making it better.

A typical Shoto birthday looks incredibly simple from the outside. But it’s full of love and people he wouldn’t trade for anything, and Shoto enjoys his birthday just the way it is.

Hey, everyone! Every week leading up to Ochabowl Week, we decided to highlight some of our favorite Ochako ships, be it whether we like to read, write, or draw for them. There’s a lot of love to go around, and we thought it would be cool to talk about some of the ships that we’re fond of. Because I (Lanni) write a lot for Ochako and multiple ships, I offered to go first. I’m really good at blabbing about ships since I have so many.

My favorite Ochako ship has to be Todochako! Everyone and their mom probably knows this about me. I’m weak for it.

When I first wrote a scene with them in one of my older fics, I didn’t consider it a ship or its potential. It slowly began to evolve into something more and I didn’t even realize I wrote them together a lot (with either platonic or romantic vibes) until other people pointed out that I did it a lot. Since then, I’ve written a lot for them and maybe even read every fic with them in it.

I honestly can’t tell you what it is about them that makes me love the ship so much - maybe part of it is because they’re my favorite characters to read and write for - but I’ll be damned if I don’t get hella excited or pumped whenever I see stuff for them. Everyone knows to just send it to me or tag me at this point, but then half the time I’ve already seen it.

A few of my favorite artists that draw Todochako are safri and youseinamani. Safri is actually the person who got me into writing for the ship. They asked me if I could, and then I just spiraled into it hardcore, so I have her to thank for this. I dragged youseinamani into it with me. Even though she wasn’t into the ship much, she drew the above piece for my birthday (okay tbh I only got Todochako art that year and I was SO HAPPY), and now she’s drawing so much for it. My happy, little shipper heart is FULL of love for these two incredible artists.

One of my favorite small ideas I have is that some time after they all start dating, Izuku, Ochako, and Shoto get a simple, three bead necklace to showcase their connection with one another. One bead with a color to correspond to each of them. It’s a small thing, but it means the world to the three of them.

Mistletoe Moments — A Holidays TodoIzuOcha fic

 Uraraka Ochako wants to surprise her boyfriends with a surprise under the mistletoe. It’s a simple enough plan: just keep the mistletoe up in the air until the kisses are over. 

What she didn’t expect was for it to fall into Deku’s hair for Shoto to pull out.

Wanted to write something sweet and fluffy for the season, so here’s a fic! It was quite fun to put together, so I hope you enjoy!

“There we go. That should hopefully do it.”

Uraraka Ochako looks up at the ceiling, a sprig of mistletoe about a couple meters above her. It’s miraculously stayed fresh in the few days she’s had it, but it can start wilting tomorrow. All it needs to do is work right here and now.

She feels her stomach twist into a happy yet nervous knot, small butterflies fluttering inside her. This is such a cheesy thing, something right out of a romance holiday movie. Yet for all the times mistletoe is shown hanging above doors, she’s rarely ever seen it outside of a screen. Perhaps that’s why she can’t help but smile at the sight of it in the air.

Hopefully they also like this.

She pulls on the sleeves of her sweater, trying to look as casual as possible while waiting for the front door to open before anyone comes down to the common room to disturb the peace. It’s the rare quiet moment for 3-A, and it seems like most have taken the time for themselves. Others are out on dates, family visits, or shopping trips, everyone trying to take care of personal needs before the winter work studies kick into gear over break. 

“They should be back soon, right?” They didn’t leave that long ago, and they only had a few things they needed to take care of. Perhaps she should have gone out with them rather than stay behind to set this little plan up. The weather hasn’t gotten worse, so there’s no chance for it to be keeping them out right now. 

Ochako takes a deep breath in, shaking her head to get rid of those nervous thoughts. Her hands run through her hair as she lets out a short huff. If this doesn’t work out, she can try again later. This doesn’t have to happen right here, right now. 

She just needs to give it some more time and faith. 

It’s not long after she starts rocking back and forth on her feet that the front doors open up, some snowflakes sneaking in. 

“We’re back! God, it feels great to be somewhere warm.”

“You could have just held onto me more if you needed heat.”

“You definitely helped with my joints, but I ended up needing both hands to help those guys move that stuff downtown. I sadly can’t hold onto you and do that.”

“I suppose you’re right.”

Midoriya Izuku— Deku to her— laughs as he places a rather large bag against the wall, probably the fruit of their shopping trip. His shoes come off shortly afterwards, the red sneakers still present even in the midst of the snow. It doesn’t take long for him to see her, the smile on his face growing the moment his eyes lay on her.

“Ochako-san!”

“Hm?” Todoroki Shoto looks over her way, his soft smile growing just like their boyfriend’s “What are you doing right in front of the door?”

“Waiting for both of you.” Is the blush consuming her face from the burst of cold or from her own fluttering heart? Probably from both. 

“Wait, really?” He tilts his head some, this shocked yet touched look on his face, right down to the way his eyes shrink just a bit. She loves this look, the way his heart is on full display.

“Really.”

A strong blush accompanies that very look, it only growing larger as he lets out a small, grateful chuckle. “That… that’s really sweet of you.”

It’s not often he stutters on his words, but it’s adorable every time it happens.

“Ochako-san, you didn’t have to do that.” Deku’s face resembles a strawberry, freckles standing out even more against red cheeks and nose.

“True. I didn’t. But I wanted to.” She holds her arms out, letting them speak for her. He responds without a word, his cold touch shocking her just a bit.

“How long were you two out there? You feel like an icicle!”

“Longer than expected…” his voice trails off at the end, soft, embarrassed laughter finishing the sentence. “There was a problem with one of those large public holiday decorations, and well…” 

“You couldn’t help but help them?”

“Yeah, that.”

“I wouldn’t expect anything less.” She holds him a little tighter, running a hand through his hair. His hat fights against her fingers, but she pushes back, taking in the lovely curls.

It pushes against her, she pushes back. If she does this just enough, the hat will come off.

Unfortunately, the hat isn’t ready to let her win without a fight, as her pinky finger touches him in an attempt to finally free his head. She feels him float up, his surprised noises confirming the fact. 

The hat falls to the floor without as much as a ‘thump.’

“My mistake, Deku-kun!” She brings her hands together, barely paying attention as her pads connect. “Release!”

Deku falls back onto the ground rather gracefully, his experience with Float surely coming into play. 

“I’m really sorry about that!” She presses her palms against each other as if she was praying, leaning forward a bit. “I should have just let you take off your hat and other things before asking for a hug!” 

“It’s alright, Ochako-san. Really.” He scratches the back of his neck. “Besides, it wasn’t that far off the ground.”

“I guess that’s a positive here…” God, she hasn’t done something like that in forever. 

Shoto makes a small ‘hm’ noise before pulling something out from Deku’s hair. “Wait, isn’t this…”

She looks at what Shoto’s holding, and now she’s ready to float herself up and not come back down from the ceiling. How could she have forgotten it would come down when releasing her quirk?!

“Guess you both know my secret plan now.” She weakly throws up jazz hands, trying to salvage some of the situation. “I was hoping to greet you both at the door, point up at the mistletoe, and then kiss like they do in movies and such. Guess it didn’t exactly work out like I wanted it to.”

Shoto looks at the plant, turning it over to get a better look at it.

“A kiss?” Deku repeats.

“Yeah, a kiss.” God, her face is so hot right now that she could probably substitute as a fireplace. “The old ‘two lovers under the mistletoe must kiss’ thing but with the three of us.” Maybe this wasn’t exactly a good plan. Maybe she should have just taped it to a door frame another time and just gone out shopping with her boyfriends and—

“Is there a specific place you’re supposed to kiss someone?”

Both Ochako and Deku turn to look at Shoto, who’s stopped inspecting the source of the current situation.

“A specific place?” Her voice barely manages not to crack.

“I’ve never really seen or interacted with mistletoe before, so I’m not quite sure how it exactly goes.”

The butterflies from before fly again, sending tingles of happiness into the wave of relief washing over her. “I don’t think there is. You just kiss wherever you want.”

“Oh.” He takes a quick glance at the plant before meeting her eyes. “Is there somewhere you’d like me to kiss you?”

Her brain nearly short circuits, mouth now dry. She’s not sure what to answer, if she can ask for a kiss on the lips right away. But she can hear the words ‘on the cheek’ come from her mouth, and Shoto does just that.

His lips are a bit cold, but they melt away the anxiety within her. He smells faintly of peppermint, like a little bit of the holiday. She savors the kiss, looking at him fondly when he eventually pulls away.

“I, um, thank you.” She stands on her tiptoes, reaching him to return the favor. Her lips are right where his scar meets the rest of his skin, and she knows both places well. 

“Did we do this right?” He asks after she lowers herself.

“I think so?” She rocks a bit on her feet. “They usually make it look so easy in the movies.”

“Then I guess we aren’t in one.”

“I would hope not!” She brings her hand up to her mouth as she tries to cover up her laughter, yet a surprise kiss on her forehead does the job for her. Ochako looks up at Shoto, who looks rather surprised and possibly a bit sheepish. 

“I’m sorry; I didn’t know if I did it right the first time.”

She gives him a warm, fond smile. “I think you’re doing great.” 

He returns the smile before turning towards Deku, pulling back his curls to kiss him in the same spot. Deku gasps, barely moving as he processes everything.

“I… Shoto-kun…” He once again resembles a strawberry, this time with a large, shining smile on his face. “Thank you, I really liked that.” He quickly returns the favor, going right for the left cheek before his mind can get the better of him. She’s pretty sure that’s why he responded so fast.

Neither of them expected the extra kiss on the right cheek.

Shoto is left bright pink and speechless, touching each kiss one at a time as if he’s still processing reality. She’s somehow miraculously keeping up, though that goes out the window when she feels Deku kiss one blush mark after the other.

Her mouth hangs slightly open, the action looping in her mind. How his lips are a bit chapped from chewing on them, the winter weather only highlighting this fact.

It isn’t long after the second blush kiss that he freezes in place, stuttering and tripping up over his words like his tongue is too big for his mouth. “Ochako-san!” His body decides to work with his mind now. “I didn’t ask you were you wanted me to kiss you or anything like that! I just had this feeling of ‘go for it,’ so I followed it, and that lead to me kissing you so quickly after Shoto-kun and I—” 

She laughs. An earnest, love filled laugh, complimented by a smile reaching ear to ear. A laugh she doesn’t bother trying to cover up in the slightest.

“Ochako-san? Is everything okay?”

“It is, really. It’s perfectly you.”

He takes a shaky breath in, face painted with wonder as the anxiety quickly melts away.

“May I return the favor?”

He gently nods.

“Thank you.” She cups one side of his face as she kisses the other cheek, then pulls back his curls with her other hand to kiss the center of his forehead. She can see the stars in his eyes, the same look as when Shoto kissed him.

“May I give one more?”

“Of course.”

She lets go of the curls to cup the other cheek and then kisses him on the lips. It’s a soft, gentle thing, one that doesn’t take long for him to lean into. The warm feelings inside her multiply, her heart overflowing with holiday cheer.

They gently pull away from each other, and she runs her hands through a bit of curls. “Thank you, Deku-kun.” 

“…thank you, Ochako-san.”

“Always.”

She looks over at Shoto, the warmth still running through her entire body. “Can I also kiss you there?”

He nods, as if he’s too stunned to speak, which he very much might be.

She moves a bit his way, stands on her toes again, and presses her lips against him. He holds one hand on the back of her hand, but she barely registers the way he’s began to run his fingers through her hair. She’s too focused on the kiss, on the subtle shift of hot to cold. It’s been there for all his other kisses, but it stands out even more here.

She eventually places her heels back on the ground, smiling loud and proud at him. “Thank you too, Sho-kun.”

“You’re welcome, Ochako. And, um, thank you.”

“Always.”

Shoto turns towards Deku, who has a smile that could melt away any negative feelings. It’s full of warmth and joy and love. Looking at it makes you want to smile too.

“Izuku?”

“I’m so glad you asked.” Deku places a couple fingers underneath Shoto’s chin, and the two meet right in the middle. Ochako feels the love radiating off them, this act of affection making everything feel better. It’s nurturing and filling, and she wouldn’t trade it for anything. 

The kiss eventually ends, leaving both of them with dorky smiles on their faces.

“Thank you too, Shoto-kun.”

“You’re also welcome. Thank you as well.”

“It’s no problem at all.”

She lets out a satisfied sigh, still wrapped up in the feeling of the moment. It wasn’t what she expected at all, but hey. That’s what makes it special, right?

She takes a single step forward and feels something under her slippers. A quick peak reveals that the mistletoe had fallen onto the ground sometime during this. She’s not sure when, but it doesn’t matter.

“Do we still need that?” Shoto asks.

“No, we don’t.” She bends down, picking it up with ease. “It’s done its job. No one else in the class said anything about wanting to use it, so I think we can just leave it on the counter, just in case.” She eyes the bags on the wall, reminders of what all came before the mistletoe. “There’s hot coco in the kitchen. Let’s all get a cup. Besides, I wanna know more about this display thing Deku-kun helped out with.”
