Hello from Tamtetoucht, Morocco! 🇲🇦
Tamtetoucht is a little village in the mountains beyond Todgha Gorge set against brown dusty mountains. It’s a quiet life where the main method of transportation is donkey or bicycle. There are almost no cars here. Cars are a symbol of wealth here.
I saw this spot on Park4Night and boy did it humble me when I rode in. It’s not so much an official camping spot like Westerners are used to, but just someone’s backyard. It’s kinda in the middle of wild camping and a paid camp spot. Nevertheless there’s running water and hot showers, which is a luxury for me versus when I’m out wild camping and have no services.
Living on the road makes you appreciate even the most minimal comforts.

Todra Gorge, Tinghir, Morocco 🇲🇦
Compared to these sublime, stolid canyons, we are but fleeting and ephemeral beings, counting our lives in mere decades...
In other news, I must applaud Raj for these beautiful shots. He’s never liked taking pictures so imagine my surprise when he started clicking artistic shots, with minimal direction from me 😂

The Todgha Gorges are a series of limestone river canyons near the town of Tinerhir. The Todgha and Dades Rivers are responsible for carving out these deep cliff-sided canyons, on their final 40 kilometres through the mountains. The last 600 metres of the Todgha gorge are the most spectacular. Here the canyon narrows to a flat stony track, in places as little as 10 metres wide, with sheer and smooth rock walls on each side. The area is no longer as remote as it once was. A well-maintained asphalt road leads up the valley from Tinerhir to the gorge. This is one of Morocco's spectacular sites and is located on the road to the desert. If your final destination is the Merzouga desert you will spend the night nearby. This place will take your breath away and deserves a visit. ..  We are looking for more interactive followers 🙏here on Facebook and Tumblr!!! The Silence of Todgha Gorge 🇲🇦🏍️🌴
When I learned about Todgha Gorge and the adjacent Dades Gorge, I told myself: I don’t want to just see the popular section, I want to ride ALL OF IT.
While the Southern section of Todgha Gorge is the most beautiful in my opinion, it is also full of cars, transport vans, tourists and vendors. Not my scene, I took some photos and moved on. But if you ride just 5 minutes beyond the Southern section, you are rewarded with the most fiery orange rocks with no one around.
It’s just silence. Just your breath and the wind.

Final throwback for today #tbt from my 2 month solo travel through Morocco when I climbed the Atlas Mountains THE LOCAL ROUTE (locals were even barefoot), and was sure I was going to break a bone. I met a local who eventually CONVINCED ME TO STAY IN A NOMADS CAVE with a huge extended family and donkeys. Sounded like a cool offer. The trek to their cave was 4 hours up and I was constantly gasping for air, reluctant to complain because the old ladies who were 90 were leading the way. It was bizzare at first - eating, sleeping and laughing with a bunch of real nomads. It was here where I started to eat everything with my hands, I still do👀. We communicated happily somehow and I ended up staying 3 days before I left to another village. I wont forgot those daily treks down to the stream where we washed ourselves (so embarrassing) and our clothes, got food, then hiked back up. Funny times - randomly trusting nomads in a place with zero signal & far out of sight. Risky? nope, just an epic experience. I just kept on thinking "now or never" and rightly so because I've not replicated this experience since p.s. I wore a ring on my 'wedding' finger (wrong hand lol) the whole time in Morocco 👀. any guesses why? #Morocco #atlasmountains #hiking #solotravel #todghagorge #tinghir #Africa #travelafrica #African #africantraveller #girlswhotravel #atlasmountains (at Todgha Gorge)

Welcome to M O R O C C O ! 🇲🇦 We have made it to the desert! Merzouga is home to the Southeastern Sahara Desert of Morocco, a little town of about 50km from the Algerian border and the village is known for its proximity to Erg Chebbi, the dunes. Merzouga has the largest natural underground body of water in Morocco. Overnight in our luxury desert camp after a splice camel trek through the dunes, is a night you will forever remember! We also make our way to the small village of Khamlia south of Merzouga. If you love music and want to hear something a little different, you can find it in Khamlia. It is a music group Gnawa, their music is ritual and communicates with secrets. If you are open in your soul you can dance, listen, you will be like a stone that can not be moved, their music is everywhere. We also eat the famous Berber pizza of Khamlia 💙 If you have not considered Morocco for a trip, I hope as I share it will change your mind! The country is so rich in so many ways - culture, landscapes, architecture, people. It awakens all your senses and it really is quite exhilarating!! 🐪 If you are a @Deserttripper lover you can join us in Merzouga desert and we'll be very happy to guide through the beautiful sand dunes of Erg-Chebbi. 🌐www.Deserttripper.com 📩[email protected] #deserttripper #saharatripper #brotherguides #cameltrekking #Merzougadunes #travellater #dreamingoftravel #moroccotravel #followyourhearttravel #travelexpert #simplymorocco #travelinmorocco #femaletravel #theculturetrip #explorewithme #placesoftheworld #dadesgorges #todghagorges #passportcollective #bucketlisttravel #visitfes #visitmarrakech #travelexperiences #moroccotours #visitmerzouga (à Merzouga - Sahara Desert) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cajjet3qFFF/?utm_medium=tumblr
