i’d briefly like to talk about the “it was fine” dialogue option that happens the morning after gale’s Last Night Alive scene in act ii and about the fandom's general reaction to it.
gale is a character who evidently enjoys the occasional teasing. taking the piss out of your partner every once in a while can certainly be a way of showing affection. however, it is important to consider the context of the situation: what is at stake for him and his current emotional state, as well as what exactly had transpired between the two of them prior to said conversation.
gale: forgive me. these were already trying times before elminster delivered his missive. now, for me at least, they are potentially end times.
after he and tav had spent the night together and confessed their love to each other, gale is once again showing himself utterly vulnerable and is carefully asking them for reassurance.
gale: [..] i hope that night meant as much to you as it did to me.
gale: but you - you led me away from the edge.
gale: without your words, your touch... i fear i would have sought purpose and solace in that void. you reminded me what living can feel like.
he wants to check in with them, after both of them have shared something tender and very intimate, something he might even consider life-altering.
gale: we didn't just make love. we bonded, body and soul. i got lost in you.
it’s not even about gale “not being able to read social cues” and “not recognizing the fact that it was meant in jest.” in fact, i’d argue it is a rather tone-deaf, inconsiderate response and just genuinely a REALLY BAD TIME to joke at your partner's expense when they are actively baring their feelings to you and are asking you for reassurance.
i have seen people write off his reaction as “unwarranted” or “overtly dramatic” but in my humble opinion, it is pretty understandable given the nature of their conversation and what he is asking of them. it's also sad how there seems to be a general pattern of gale's emotions and boundaries getting played off as a joke, while other companions get shown the courtesy of thorough analysis/understanding. he is proud of his skill as a lover and the fact that he was able to bring them pleasure, yet his inquiry is less about him wanting tav to stroke his ego and more about him, once again, asking if you indeed share the same feelings for each other… after the emotional high has now passed.
gale has an ever-present need for clarity in his relationships, very likely due to the fact that this was something he couldn’t request of mystra. he might appear more sensitive in that regard compared to the other companions. he doesn’t want to take himself too seriously, but this still often clashes with his general feeling of inadequacy. where he is able to take criticism as long as it isn’t related to his performance, overall prowess and usefulness.
yes, his response is passive-aggressive and yes, he IS obviously hurt by what tav said. yet merely repeating “it was fine” in response to a heartfelt, genuine question could’ve as well been interpreted in that manner. if tav does clarify that they have only been joking, he apologizes to them instead. otherwise his dialogue remains the same, albeit said in a more embarrassed & awkward tone.
gale is a character who is dealing with deep-rooted self-worth issues and yet that doesn’t mean that he wants to be handled with kid gloves, far from it. he craves a relationship in which his emotional needs are recognized, respected and cared for, where he can be unabashedly open and vulnerable without facing ridicule nor pity for it. and he is more than willing to give the same in return.
also y’know — there is a time and a place.
#“briefly” they said (sorry can't shut up once i've started. you'll have to bear with me)#this has been bothering me for a while now#by all means roast your wizard to your hearts content#but maybe opt for his shortcomings that aren’t genuinely hurtful/rooted in his self-hatred#that only serve to further reinforce his belief that he is not worthy enough#when he is still very much dealing with the inevitability of his own untimely death and sacrifice#today’s lesson in empathy lmao#aka me once again getting emotionally invested in tragic pixel men#baldurs gate 3#bg3#gale dekarios#gale of waterdeep#bg3 meta#bg3 spoilers#datamined dialogue

For what it’s worth, I ended up liking your origins for MK better than the canon version 🤣 I like him being a celestial primate monkey! (Plus the lore you gave to all of them) And I think I also like your explanation and journey on learning his powers better too. The one part I liked in canon was him and Wukong coming from the same stone, but that’s mostly because of my love for ✨Sunburst Duo✨ Content.
Though having said that I do feel that you have pain planned out for MK in Constellations so… praying in advance for my boy
Aww that makes me so happy!! Thank you for saying that.
I wanted him to be a celestial primate SO BAD in canon!!! It's right there!!! It's free real estate!! They could've done anything with him!! But alas.... ALAS!!!!
thank you a lot, though. I was really missing the "MK training arc" in canon. Like s3 gave us some of it, but I wanted more formal lessons?? And also I wanted Macaque there??? To make the lessons more formal?? Because you know Wukong is the messiest most scatterbrained mentor. He forgor the lesson for today... 😔 MK, help him..
Plus also!!! Magic system!!! If there's a magic system, when someone loses or dies, you'll understand why. Think of the BATTLES we could have!!! In constellations!! So fun!! MAGIC SYSTEM YEAH!!!
I also love me some sunburst duo content, so I completely understand. I need to write them hanging out. Ohh yeah their sleepover! Might do that maybe.
Oh, MK won't suffer too much. If anyone's gonna suffer, it's Wukong LMAO. MK's suffering is tied to him finding out about his origin and how he handles that. But he's so powerful, he's able to turn the tide battlewise instantly. But he's also got empathy, which is integral to his role as the celestial primate of balance and hope.
He won't have too rough of a time. Just that "finding yourself and your place in the world" type stuff. Now Wukong, ohhh, sweet Monkey King.
He's going to get all of his morals and beliefs tested. 😈 And also suffer physically and mentally LMAOOOOO
Thanks again! And thanks for reading constellations!! 🥳

(Hey so I'm definitely not new here but I changed my name so I just wanted to let u know lmao)
Hey dork squad my favorite trio (*´∇`)ノ
How's your week been?
My week has been hectic, I swear. Since Monday was presidents Day in America we didn't have school, when we went back the next day we had a school shooting .... At my high school and I was present. Thankfully it was a hoax but so many kids/teachers have had theories about it, the one thing that stuck with me was the panic I felt but I was proud of my self that I was able to stay calm and sorta take action and help comfort my friends. On Wednesday we had a snow day bc my state is bipolar af, school was normal today but it snowed as I was walking home it was annoying it kept wetting my glasses :/. Idk what's going to happen tomorrow but I'm ready for it!
Anyways here's a cute little cat meme!
Jonathan would know all about that.
I beg your pardon?
You pulled a gun out on your students.
Yes...and?
Did you pull the trigger, Mr Crane? ♠️
Why would you ask him a thing like that!?
I don't know! It seemed the next thing to ask!♠️
What would you know of fluidity and order- even in social norms!?
The one on the left is looking at me rather peculiarly...♠️
...Exactly my point. Now what are you blabbering on about?
The cat me...me? Me me? It isn't me- is it? Or is it me? Am I the Cheshire cat? What a funny little trick! ♠️
That's not what the conclusion is, Jervis and it is a meme. They're mindsucking, brain bleeding mirages of humour for the young and dumb.
In a world of constant change, pain and sorrow. All that remains is finding comfort in relating to one another. Finding comfort in the pain we had no idea everyone else feels. A world full of expectations, we forget the age old lesson that we never are truly alone. So much so, its argued strongly that for every thought a human has ever had atleast another ten people in the world has had the same thought. Oh, sorry Mr Nygma, I know that must threaten a paradigm shift of sorts.
Crane, I'm going to say this is delicately as I can. Fuck off. Stop smirking at me too.
Language! ♠️
Yes, Edward. Language.
You're antagonising.♠️
Yes, I am. Do you intend to stop me, Jervis?
...Mr Crane, I have no intention of diverting your path for I value my days. ♠️
That's what I thought.
Before I lose any more brain cells to you two- can we get back to the matter at hand?
Ah yes, now is the time to offer a socially acceptable response to show that we are capable of empathy. Therefore...we are so glad to know that you are alright. Such a vile thing to joke of. For the record, I did nothing for humour and I brought it for educational purposes. A prop for class.
But...it is horrible! What kind of joke is that!? ♠️
Ask the Joker.
I'd rather not. ♠️
I see you mentioned controlling your fear...perhaps you'd like to discuss this further?
Don't make me sit through this.
I think the one of the left is trying to tell me something...♠️
DISCLAIMER: I know my rules say that my content doesn't represent my true feelings but had to put this out there to make sure it was clear. I'm so glad this was a hoax. I hope you know that whilst the characters are insensitive- I am horrified you had to experience such a terrible thing and hope you're okay!

Hi ! feel free 2 ignore.
i’m a nanny and my 3 yr old today threw a tantrum where she ended up biting and scratching me and pulling out a chunk of my hair. she’s not usually like this and it was pretty shocking. if one of your kiddos did this, what would you do to like, discourage such violence in the future but also support the kiddo? i didnt know what to do i just told her firmly that she wasnt allowed to hurt people and gave her some space and she calmed down a bit after a while.
omg first of all i’m sorry that happened! i think when it comes out of nowhere and feels so shocking it’s really hard to deal w! tbh what you did sounds a lot like what i would do. the thing w violent tantrums esp at the age you’re talking about is they are inevitable. like you can do all the soft transition periods and emotional validation in the world (and you should!) but violent tantrums are still going to happen bcus age 2-4 is when kids are figuring out that they have the ability be violent intentionally in reaction to their emotional experience. so theres things you can do generally overall to make them secure in their power and agency that they don’t feel the need to exercise violence bcus they’ve learned they can use their words and know they’ll be listened to and respected, and then there’s things you can do in the moment to convey the same.
in general w tantrums i try to stay about 1.5-3 feet away from the kid. far enough they don’t feel threatened, close enough they don’t feel abandoned. i think it helps to treat it as routine - level voice, observational remarks. offer them familiar things like a favorite toy or a pillow (not something that will hurt when thrown lmao). if you’re in a place you think is making the tantrum worse (loud, overwhelming, whatever) explain this to them and offer them a this or that choice on how you can move (‘you can hold my hand or walk alone, we can go to the bathroom or move outside’ etc) unless the kid is physically unsafe do not move them against their will - being ignored and made to feel impotent is like, surefire recipe for escalation. yes this means you might have to be uncomfortable and feel judged in a public space unfortunately. if they are physicaly unsafe, narrate that. ‘i know you’re upset. i know you don’t want to be touched right now. i had to move us because xyz. i’m putting you down now and i won’t touch you anymore.’ i have found quietly humming a song that’s familiar to them like twinkle twinkle, wheels on the bus, classroom type songs is grounding and makes them aware you’re present with them without stressing them out.
once the tantrum has escalated to violence, its really important to remember that rn is not the time to be like teaching lessons. keeping it simple is best. “(kids name), i understand you are feeling angry/upset. (violent action) is not an appropriate reaction and i need you to stop” thank them for listening when they do stop. don’t bring moral judgements or appeals to empathy into it. i find it helps to loosely hold both their hands - like, put my pointer finger under their hand and hold it there w my thumb so it’s like they’re holding my hand instead of the other way around lmao? idk but it works. it’s grounding and it brings them back out of their heads. if they struggle against it, say something like ‘i’m holding your hand because you were doing x. are you ready to stop doing x?” if they say yes let them go and move back away again.
AFTER the tantrum is a really important time i think and when its most likely you’ll be able to convey like a lesson about violence. i’ll literally do like a postmatch breakdown w them and talking it out, usually while doing another activity like coloring or a walk or something. ‘earlier you were very overwhelmed. i noticed when you were feeling that way, you did xyz. did you feel better or worse when i did abc? i’m proud of you for using your words/asking for time to yourself/whatever. when i feel angry/sad/whatever, sometimes i want to (violent action) did you feel like that too?’ in general just connecting with them, bringing things to their attention. depending on the kid three might be a little young for them to fully focus on this. if their attention starts drifting let it happen. you don’t want this to feel punitive, it needs to be a space where they can express themselves and understand that their experiences are normal. don’t force an apology, and if they do apologize thank + forgive them. the last thing i think can help is when you are feeling frustrated or angry, you can acknowledge it and then draw attention to what you’re doing in reaction or as a result of that feeling!

solomon deserves a husband so i'm giving him one (it's you)
note from kin: i don’t know HOW i’ve managed to get this out so soon after my last piece but i do know that it is a miracle (now watch me disappear for like a month lmao)
anyway there’s a severe lack of content for the boys in this fandom and therefore i am here to try to mitigate that!!
(as a heads up, this is sort of an au version of obey me’s story?? there’s no exchange program, and the general human world doesn’t know about the devildom or celestial realm, apart from sorcerers and similar special cases. solomon and simeon both still visit the devildom, though - solomon because he has a sort of job at the r.a.d., and simeon as an ambassador sort of thing for the celestial realm. the r.a.d.’s also less of a school and more of an organisation?? i haven’t really fleshed it out haha)
fandom: obey me!
character(s): male! reader, solomon, mammon (briefly), simeon (briefly)
pairing(s): solomon/reader
warning(s): blasphemy??? solomon disses god really briefly and that’s about it
genre: fluff!!!!!!!!!
As a general rule of thumb, Solomon doesn’t believe in destiny.
He’s lived long enough to know that, no matter what he does, the universe does not care about him, much less have some sort of plan for his future. The course that the world takes isn’t affected by some grand puppet master pulling the strings; one has to force the so-called path of fate in the direction they want it to take if they want something. Solomon knows this better than anyone.
It’s as much a downfall as it is a strength - as much as power as he’s amassed over the countless years, his constant need to challenge the universe’s power has lead him down a path far from humanity. There had been a time when he was like every other human on the Earth, when he was still young, full of hope and determination and promise, believing earnestly in some God high in the sky who would guide him through his life.
He shudders to think what sort of insufferable fool he’d been back then. An almighty God? Don’t make him laugh. The ruler of the Celestial Realm is incompetent at best, and a downright childish brat at worst. He doesn’t know how the angels put up with him - though he supposes his realm-smiting power is part of it. Why the universe chose to place such power on such a being’s shoulders will always be beyond him.
Long as it has been since he had been so naive, Solomon has learnt his lesson, to say the least. He’s seen people come and go, witnessed kings and queens reign and fall, watched on as friends and family live and die. It’s a truth that he’s been forced to learn across the years of his long, long life, a curse that he brought upon himself the moment he gave up the purity of his soul in pursuit of magical arts.
He supposes he’s always had an insatiable thirst for the unknown - to play all his cards out front, to tempt fate’s hand, to jump into the void and hope to find ground beneath his feet when he lands. It’s that sort of reckless abandon and hunt for knowledge that has led him so far down this path, through so many years, across so many sleepless nights. The world continues to swirl around him, always changing, but Solomon refuses to be swept away. Because, even in the tumultuous movement of the universe, there has always been one constant that keeps him anchored - you.
The night he'd first met you isn’t as clear in his mind as he would have liked. He wants to be able to remember everything - the way the soft blue light of the will-o’-whisps had lit up your eyes in the dark of the night, the way that your hand had felt in his as you greeted him with a handshake, the way that you had said his name for the first time - in sharp detail, but Solomon knows better than to hope to recall something so long ago so perfectly.
He’d still been relatively new to a sorcerer’s life at the time - excited and determined and a little too full of himself. You… well, he doesn’t remember exactly, but he does remember thinking that you must be the most handsome being to exist. The you of today would probably shake your head and dismiss the past you as an obnoxious high hoper, but Solomon has loved you for so many years that he’s never been able to think of you as anything less than perfect.
There are times when he wondered how he managed to stumble upon such luck. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that Solomon has has had truly insufferable periods over the years he’s known you, and he’s always considered it a miracle that you still chose to stay. Even through all the restless nights and the exhausting trips, even after all of the clashes and vexation, you have refused to give up on him.
He had asked you once, in the aftermath of an argument spurred by his inability to confide in you and your own frustration with his refusal to communicate. He remembers that night so vividly that it might well have happened just yesterday - the frustrated shouts, the shattering of glass, the warmth of your arms around his shoulders as he finally collapsed on himself. He doesn’t know what your face had looked like as he stuttered the question out in stuttering breaths, head buried in your shoulder in an effort to conceal his tears, but he imagines that it had been soft.
“I’m not going to leave you to yourself,” You had told him matter-of-factly, stroking his hair with such fondness that it still sometimes brings a tear to his eye when he remembers it on particularly long nights. “And I’m not giving up on you, either - not now, not ever.”
Solomon had been unable to speak, too choked up by his feelings and the sudden, overwhelming love spreading through his entire body to reply. He’d only sunk deeper into your embrace, wishing that the moment could last forever.
I wonder if he still remembers that…?
“...lomon! Anyone home?!”
He jolts up from the table he’s sitting at so abruptly that he nearly knocks his head right into Mammon’s chin. The Avater of Greed, however, reacts quickly, and hops back before Solomon can break his jawbone.
“Jeez, you’re off on a different planet today,” He comments, setting his hands on his hips as Solomon shoots him the sort of look that tells him that he’s not particularly enthused about his presence at the moment. “What’s up with ya?”
Solomon isn’t quite sure how to answer. Sorry, I got distracted thinking about how perfect and lovely my husband is and how I’m the luckiest man in the entire world - nay, the universe - to have him. He nearly physically shudders at the thought of how much teasing he’d receive if he answered like that.
Instead, he chooses a much safer and still technically true option. “Just thinking about going home today.”
Mammon nods in understanding, pulling up a seat next to him and throwing himself down into it without much grace. “I feel ya. S’ been a long day.”
“You’ve barely done anything today,” Solomon quips flatly, not particularly impressed by the demon’s attempt at… empathy? Relatability? Either way, it isn’t working. “I doubt it’s been that hard.”
“Now, now, Solomon, let’s not be rude,” interjects a soft voice from behind them. Simeon is still dressed in his fancy envoy cloak - the one so long and heavy that it trails along behind him like a bridal train, decorated with a number of elaborate golden charms that jingle as he moves.
Solomon attempts to shoot him a slightly annoyed look, but it’s kind of hard to stay irritated by one of the literal embodiments of holiness and light, even if he wakes you up at very unholy hours of the morning to help him figure out how to answer an email. Solomon isn’t ungrateful for the new age of technology descending on humanity, but he’d like it a lot better if it hadn’t somehow reached the angels as well. The amount of times he’s had to tell Simeon that he needs to actually turn his D.D.D. on before he starts calling someone is… embarrassing, to say the least.
“You’re back in the Devildom, I see,” He observes as the angel pulls up a seat and sits beside him. “Did Michael send you down again?”
Simeon nods with a smile. “There were some arrangements that needed to be made with Lord Diavolo. Naturally, I volunteered.”
“Naturally,” Solomon echoes, raising a brow at his friend. “I don’t suppose your biases had anything to do with your decision?”
“Well, they may have had some effect,” Simeon answers with a shameless smile and shrug, beginning to undo the tassels of his heavy cloak and draping it on the back of chair he’s sitting on. He’s still wearing all of his regular clothes underneath it - including the other, much smaller cloak. Solomon wonders how he hasn’t somehow melted in the heat.
“When’re you gonna start heading home, anyway?” Mammon asks, beginning to pick at a loose thread on his jacket sleeve. “It’s gettin’ late.”
Solomon blinks and looks up at the clock. “...ah, you’re right. In that case, I'll get going now.”
Mammon shoots him an odd look as he pushes himself up from the table and reaches for his bag, managing to hoist it onto his shoulder with some effort. He’s never been particularly good at heavy lifting - you’re usually the one helping him carry everything around the house.
“Oi, oi, what’s the rush?” the demon asks as Solomon adjusts the weight of his bag and starts heading for the door. “You on a timer or something?”
“I promised [Name] I’d be home earlier tonight,” is Solomon’s slightly absent-minded reply as he fiddles about in his pocket to find his transportation charm, nearly losing his balance and dropping his bag in the process. “I’ll see you both tomorrow.”
Mammon watches him in clear confusion for a moment as he pats down his pockets, mumbling a quiet curse under his breath as he realises that he’s left his charm at home again. How many times this month does that make it now...? He supposes that he could always perform a teleportation spell, but knowing his luck with those, he’ll probably end up somewhere in Morocco again.
“Oi, Simeon,” Mammon hisses to the angel, who cocks his head slightly to the side and leans over so as to hear him more clearly. “Who’s this ‘[Name]’ Solomon’s talkin’ about?”
“You don’t know?” Simeon blinks at him in blatant perplexion - as if he can’t even fathom the idea that Mammon might not know who Solomon’s talking about. “He’s talking about his husband.”
There’s a long moment of silence. Then—
“Solomon has a HUSBAND!?” Mammon practically shrieks, completely flabbergasted. “I thought he was totally, like, the forever alone type!”
“Don’t tell me you’ve never noticed?” is Simeon’s bewildered response. “Who do you think Solomon is always talking about buying groceries for?”
“I thought he was just buyin’ them for himself!” Mammon fires back, looking far more ruffled and shocked than he probably should be. He whips around to look at Solomon, who’s flicking through the little packet of blank charms he keeps on him at all times in an effort to find the right one to create a temporary transportation charm. He’s had to do it so many times this month that he’s already beginning to run out. “You’re married?!”
“Of course,” Solomon answers vaguely, briefly raising his left hand, allowing Mammon to spot the soft glint of a ring around his fourth finger. “You’re not?”
“Wh— ‘course I’m not!” Mammon exclaims, positively scandalised by the very concept. “Why would I get married, huh?! It’s a waste of time and a waste of money!”
“Think whatever you like,” Solomon dismisses him easily, which only seems to irritate Mammon further.
Finally having found the right blank charm, he plucks it out and begins carefully tracing patterns onto it with a single glowing finger. He’s dimly aware of Mammon furiously whispering to Simeon in the background, with the angel responding in kind, most likely sharing some exaggerated story from back when the three of you had worked together - when Solomon had accepted a job from the Celestial Realm. The details of the whole thing are a little fuzzy to him now, long as it has been, but he’s almost completely sure that Simeon somehow still remembers the whole thing flawlessly.
“How old even is he?!” He hears Mammon hiss.
“I’m not so sure myself,” Simeon replies, placing his chin in a thoughtful hand. “Let’s see… their two millennial anniversary’s coming up in about two years, and I remember Solomon saying that they got married when he was around two hundred or so… which means he’s about twenty-one hundred years old.”
“Holy shit,” Mammon mutters in disbelief, turning glance at the sorcerer as he starts folding down the corners of his charm into the right shape. “Humans aren’t supposed to live that long. How’s his husband still alive, then?”
“That isn’t really a question for me to answer,” Simeon shakes his head slightly. “I suppose you can always ask him yourself if Solomon ever brings him to work with him.”
“I doubt it,” Solomon speaks up for the first time since announcing his departure. “He’s usually busy during the day. Besides, transportation charms make him queasy, and I’m not making him walk all the way down here.”
“Aren’t you a wizard?” Mammon asks, scratching his head. “Just do one of ya fancy teleportation spells. Why d’you need a charm?”
Solomon sighs. He hates to admit it, but he can’t be bothered to make up some other reason to cover up for himself. “I’m afraid that teleportation spells aren’t actually particularly accurate. We could end up somewhere in the Pacific if I’m not careful.”
Mammon looks thunderstruck. “Then what about all those times you’ve teleported us?! Don’t tell me we coulda ended up in, like, the Archaic Pit or something?!”
“Well, it was always a possibility,” Solomon shrugs in reply, finishing the charm with a deft flick of his hand. “You’re a demon, I sure you could have handled yourself.”
“But…!” Mammon crosses his arms and turns away like a grumpy child. “Hmph…”
“Do say hello to [Name] for me, will you?” Simeon requests as Solomon turns to open the door, ignoring the sulking demon sitting beside him. “We haven’t been able to talk for a while.”
“You text him every day, don’t you?” Solomon asks, shooting him an unimpressed look. “I’d say that’s conversation enough.”
“Now, now, there’s no need to be stingy,” Simeon countered with a smile, tilting his head slightly to the side and leaning forward. “Besides, one misses the presence of an actual person after a while of nothing but electronic communication... especially texting is so difficult. Tell him he’s always welcome to come around for some tea - Luke would be happy to see him.”
Solomon shakes his head, but makes a sound of affirmation nevertheless. You had mentioned that you’ve missed seeing Simeon since he’d started the whole negotiator businesss, and he isn’t the sort of person to deny you the company of a friend. “I’ll let him know. Anyway, I should really be going now…”
“Have a safe journey!” Simeon calls after him as he swings the door open and sweeps out. Solomon waves a hand over his shoulder in response, then disappears down the corridor, most likely to a quiet spot in the courtyard to use his charm. He’s been banned from using them indoors ever since he accidentally shattered one of the fancy artifacts in the assembly hall and sent hundreds of shards flying everywhere. Apparently Barbatos is still finding tiny pieces of glass in the crevices of the floor.
“Why didn’t Solomon ever say anythin’?” Mammon asks Simeon after a moment of quietude. “Seems like the sorta thing you’d mention.”
“Solomon’s a private man,” Simeon says with a shrug. “Besides, he and [Name] have made plenty of enemies over the years, and you’d be shocked by how quickly names and locations can spread…”
“Does he mind us knowin’ about it, then?”
“Well, personally, I’ve known for a while,” Simeon answers, “And I’m sure the others will have worked it out by now - Solomon’s always finding ways to mention [Name] in passing. But no, I’m sure he doesn’t mind. He’d say something if he did.”
Mammon nods and goes silent for a little while. Then he asks, “What’s this [Name] like, then? Must be some guy if Solomon liked him enough to put a ring on him and keep him for that long.”
“Well, let’s see…” Simeon drums his fingers thoughtfully against the tabletop. “He has quite the penchant for raising deadly plants, he hasn’t gone more than a full month without exploding something or another for about five centuries, he takes clocks apart in his spare time, he likes his coffee with a touch of vanilla, he collects cursed books, he makes a lovely butterscotch-cinnamon pie, and he works as a curse breaker for hire.”
It takes a moment for Mammon to process all of the information that’s just been dumped on him. “...sounds like the kinda guy Satan would get along with.”
“I thought so as well,” Simeon agrees. “Their house even reminds me of Satan’s room, in a way… [Name] is quite the avid reader.”
“What, you’ve been?”
“Only once,” Simeon’s eyes flutter closed for a moment as he reminisces. “Quite a long time ago now. I wouldn’t know where to find it even if I wanted to go again, though - it’s always moving.”
“Do they move house a lot, then?”
Simeon shakes his head. “Oh, no, no. They’ve lived in the same house for centuries - it’s the house that moves itself.”
Mammon pauses. “...what?”
“The building,” Simeon clarifies. “They’ve got an enchantment on the whole thing that makes it change locations every couple of weeks or so.”
“But… why?”
Simeon shrugs. “[Name] doesn’t like staying in one place for too long.”
“Still, isn’t that a bit much…?” Mammon pulls a face. “They could always just travel, ya know…”
“As Solomon said, transportation talismans make [Name] feel queasy,” Simeon explains. “And he prefers not to use teleportation spells when it comes to him, just in case they end up somewhere dangerous.”
“And he doesn’t care about the rest of us ending up somewhere dangerous?” Mammon huffs and collapses forwards onto the table.
“Well, you can’t really compare the two,” Simeon says patiently as the demon continues to mutter indignantly under his breath. “He’s his husband, and we’re essentially just his friends from work.”
Mammon opens his mouth to make a rebuttal, then thinks about it for a moment and changes his mind. After a moment, he comments, a little less resentfully, “Well, you’d think he’d at least introduce us.”
“He’s been planning to for a while, actually,” Simeon tells him. “Give him some time and he’ll probably bring it up on his own.”
Mammon nods. “He’d better!”
“I’m home.”
You look up from the book you’re reading and hop down from your seat on the roof just in time to see Solomon emerge from the back garden, looking noticeably dishevelled, with leaves decorating his head like some sort of fancy accessory.
“Welcome back!” You greet him happily, setting the book aside and moving forward to start picking the leaves from his hair. Solomon smiles softly at you as you take his bag in one hand and start pulling him to the front door with the other. “You forgot your talisman again, by the way.”
“I noticed,” He laughs, gently removing your hand from his upper arm and wrapping his fingers around it instead. “Why else do you think I ended up in the hedges again?”
“It’s a wonder that you’ve had to make these temporary talismans so many times and you still haven’t gotten one right yet,” You tease in reply, nudging him in the shoulder. “How many points is that on the tally now, then?”
“Ten for the basement, seven for the roof, and eleven for the hedges now,” He answers with a small pout as you laugh. “Honestly, you’d think I would have learnt my lesson...”
“You never do, love.”
The door creaks as you and your husband enter the house, only to immediately be greeted by a bundle of scales hitting you head-on. You manage to keep your footing and steady yourself on the doorway; Solomon isn’t so lucky, and ends up laying spread-eagled on the floor with about two hundred kilograms of excited adolescent dragon purring on his chest.
“Looks like Triton missed you,” You comment with a bright smile, setting Solomon’s bag down beside the umbrella rack and leaning over to give the dragon a scratch behind his left horn, just the way he likes it. He rumbles happily and jingles the little bell around his neck at you. “Isn’t he getting big?”
“I saw him this morning, [Name],” Solomon wheezes from his position on the floor, somehow managing to reach up and tickle Triton’s chin with one hand despite the dragon’s weight. “He can’t have grown that much in ten hours.”
“You never know!” You tell him, reaching up and wrapping your arms around Triton’s neck. He coos in a delighted fashion and raises his head, setting it heavily on your shoulder. Solomon uses the brief lightening of the weight on him to take in a deep breath as you allow your dragon to nuzzle furiously into your neck. “Dragons are unpredictable, you know.”
“Believe me, I do,” He sighs tiredly as Triton blows out a pleased puff of hot air and knocks the clock off the wall again. “Now, if you wouldn’t mind, Triton, I’d quite like to get back up again.”
The dragon blinks and raises his head from your shoulder, glancing down at the sorcerer that he’s crushing under his weight. Then he huffs and turns away again.
“Oh, you—!” Solomon curses as the dragon seems to press even harder into him. Your laughter rings out across the hall, and while he’d normally take a moment to admire the sound, he’s a little preoccupied. “[Name], stop laughing and help me!”
“He’s like a rebellious teenager!” You splutter helplessly in reply, voice still trembling slightly out of mirth. Triton makes a happy noise as you reach up and rub his scaly cheeks, his ears fluttering slightly. “Awww, you’re really growing up, aren’t you, baby? Your poor dads are really going to have their work cut out for them, huh?”
“Hey,” Solomon calls reproachfully from beneath Triton’s enormous chest. “Your husband’s still being crushed down here.”
“Oh, right!” You click your tongue and give Triton a meaningful look. He grumbles but obeys nevertheless, hopping off of Solomon (though not without knocking all the air out of him by using his chest as a launchpad) and scampering off, most likely to go play with the salamanders that have set up shop in the storage room again.
“I’ll never understand how you manage him so well,” Solomon sighs as you bend down to pull him to his feet, rubbing at the sore spot on his chest. “He never listens to me.”
“Aw, he loves you, really,” You reassure him, taking his hand and pressing a comforting kiss to his knuckles. “He just likes roughhousing with you.”
Solomon shakes his head, wanting to complain further about the big lizard that the two of you had adopted six months ago after the last one grew up and flew the nest, but then he sees the smile on your face, and he feels the flicker of irritation in his chest die down almost immediately. It’s at times like this that he’s really reminded of how absolutely worth it all of the nonsense he has to put up with at work is - because, at the end of the day, you are here, with your warm eyes and your lovely smile, with your comforting hands and your warm embrace, and there is no road too long to walk if you are waiting for him at the end of it.
“I know,” He sighs, tugging off his shoes and stepping into his favourite pair of slippers - the ones with the little cat faces printed on them that you’ve charmed to always maintain a perfect temperature for his feet. He glances at your own feet and notes that you’re wearing your matching pair as well.
The two of you have long since set up a routine for this sort of occasion, and you both fall into it with unconscious ease. Solomon changes into something more comfortable while you put the kettle on in the kitchen, and the two of you inevitably spend so long snuggled up together on the largest armchair in the living room, unwilling to leave the warmth of each other’s presence, that the water cools down, and you end up having to put it back on again. Then you sit together at the table, you with a coffee with a dash of vanilla and him with his favourite chrysanthemum tea that you always brew just the way he likes it. Sometimes you’ll sit side by side, shoulders pressed up against each other as you show him the specifics of your latest curse-breaking commission, and sometimes you’ll sit across from each other, holding hands across the tabletop as he tells you about his day.
Today it is the former, but Solomon can’t help but zone a little out of the detailed deep-dive you’re giving him about the intricacies of the spell that’s cursed this teapot to shoot its contents at anyone who attempts to fill it. It isn’t that your explanation is boring - quite the contrary, in fact; Solomon could probably listen to you describing the most mundane or trivial of things on loop for the rest of his life and be perfectly content with it. No, it’s more to do with the fact that this is the first time he’s been home before dark in a long while, and he can’t help but revel in the fact that he can spend time with you like this again. Of course, there’s something wonderful in coming home to be able to collapse into bed beside you and bury his face in the crook of your neck, drifting to sleep as you burrow closer to him even in your sleep, but Solomon can’t run off of that forever - he needs to see you with your eyes open as well, after all.
“You’re not listening to a word I say, are you?” You ask as you note the far-off look on your husband’s face. You’re not offended in the slightest by the way he starts at the directed question, evidently guilty, but you are a little puzzled. “Is there something wrong?”
Solomon’s mouth falls open slightly, then shuts again. There’s something about the way you’re looking at him so earnestly that makes his heart stutter like nothing else. Honestly, you’d think he’d be used to this after nearly two thousand years, but it seems that he’s still as weak for you as he was on the very first day of your marriage. “...I suppose I’ve just got a lot on my mind.”
“You always have a lot on your mind,” You counter softly, giving his hand a brief squeeze. “Come on, you can tell me.”
He laughs quietly, bringing your linked hands up to his face and gently holding yours to the side of his face; you, in turn, unfurl your fingers from around his and rub his cheek affectionately. After a moment, a fond smile pulling at his lips, Solomon replies, “I’ve… missed you a lot this week.”
You pause in mild surprise, but it quickly turns to endearment as Solomon presses his body even closer to yours. The hand that you’re using to hold your mug of coffee moves to settle on his shoulder as you pull him closer. “Really now? What a coincidence. I’ve missed you lots as well, love.”
He chuckles a little bashfully, his cheeks flushing. It seems that your ability to fluster him hasn’t declined even a bit over the years. He’s still well and truly besotted.
You can’t help but find it rather amusing that, despite already having spent a good hour and a half or so in the living room, bundled so close together in the blankets that you could feel his breath on your skin, the two of you are still nestling so close together now. You suppose it’s the effects of a week with much less contact than usual.
You lean forward and press a kiss to his jaw before pulling back again, reaching for your coffee and taking a sip. Solomon exhales softly, pulling his own drink towards him and draining the last of the tea in a single mouthful.
“You know,” He says, setting his empty cup down on the table. “One of my coworkers was asking about you earlier.”
“‘Coworkers’,” You snort at his choice of language, earning a reproachful poke in the side as punishment. “Come on, just admit that they’re your friends.”
“Fine,” He sighs. “One of my friends, then - Mammon, the one that Lucifer’s stringing up all the time.”
“The one with white hair?” You recall, thinking back to the group photo that Simeon had sent you a while back. “He’s the Avatar of Greed, right?”
“That’s the one,” Solomon nods. “Apparently he never noticed that I was married.”
“Well, you can’t really blame him,” You say, giving him a playful nudge. “Honestly, the way you keep your mouth shut, you’d think I was some shameful secret or something.”
Solomon looks scandalised by the very idea - it had only been a little joke, but his eyes flash with such affront that it’s almost as if someone has genuinely called you such a thing. “Of course not! I’d never—”
“Hey, hey, it’s okay, I was joking,” You cut him off before he can get more riled up. Solomon calms down quickly once you set a comforting hand on his knee, though he still looks a little indignant. “I know why you don’t like talking about us much, but really, it’s okay. They’re your friends, aren't they?”
He hesitates, then nods, releasing another deep sigh soon afterwards. “I suppose. There isn’t much I can really do about it at this point anyway… according to Simeon, most of them have somehow figured it out already.”
“They’re probably a lot smarter than you give them credit for, Sol,” You hum, reaching up and brushing a stray lock of hair out of his eyes for him. “They’re demons, after all. They’ve lived even longer than us.”
“Believe me, they really aren’t.” Solomon shakes his head, a frown pinching at his brow at the very memory of the amount of things that his coworkers have done recently - some of the most notable being Diavolo setting an entire flock of geese free in the courtyard for an ‘experiment’, Levi quite literally throwing himself out of a window just to win a bet against Mammon about who could get down the stairs faster, Asmo causing a stampede in the main hall by dropping and shattering a bottle full of a powerful aphrodisiac potion that became even more powerful once released into the air, and Lucifer accidentally breaking one of Solomon’s favourite cauldrons when he’d transformed into his demon form and inadvertently smacked halfway across the room it with one of his upper wings.
“I’d really love to meet them some day,” You sigh, swirling the contents of your mug around. “They sound like fun.”
“Trust me, the trouble isn’t worth it—” Solomon attempts to reason with you, but he gives up laughably quickly as you pout at him in protest. “Oh, fine. But don’t blame me if you get sick because of the charm again.”
“We don’t have to use the charm,” You shake your head. “Just do a teleportation spell!”
“You know that that’s risky,” Solomon sighs, chucking you under the chin and leaning forward to kiss the tip of your nose. You laugh as he draws back again, a pleased smile rising on his face at your reaction. “We could end up anywhere.”
“You’ve teleported them a bunch of times, though, haven’t you? And you haven’t ended up in Texas or the Sahara Desert any of those times!”
The resemblance to his earlier conversation with Mammon and Simeon is almost uncanny. “That’s different. I was still teleporting them within the Devildom, not across an entire realm barrier… and besides, I can afford the risk with them. You’re a different story.”
You pout again, shoulders dropping in defeat, though it doesn’t escape Solomon’s notice that his sentiment seems to have appeased you at least a little. “...guess we’ll just have to use a transportation talisman, huh…?”
“That’s your only option if you really want to visit, yes.”
You go quiet for a moment or two, nose wrinkling and face scrunching as you think it over. Solomon doesn’t mind the lack of conversation - he entertains himself by studying your features, wondering for perhaps the millionth time how he managed to find someone like you.
Finally, a determined look rising on your face, you nod and proclaim, “Then I’ll do it!”
Solomon cocks his head slightly to the side. He can’t say he’s surprised by your eagerness, but he had expected it to take you longer to make up your mind. He opens his mouth to say something, but tou answer his question before he’s even asked it, a skill that you’d managed to pick up within the first year or so of knowing him.
“I really wanna see what you actually get up to when you work,” You explain, looking a little sheepish. “You’ve had a job there for nearly two years and I’ve never even said a word to the people you work with.”
Solomon laughs. “It isn’t usually a requirement in the workplace. Wear appropriate uniform, bring any equipment you need, introduce your husband to your coworkers within the decade…”
“Still, I’d feel bad if I didn’t at least meet them,” You say. “Besides, I want to see Simeon as well. You said he’s working down in the Devildom for a bit as well, didn’t you?”
“Why are you so eager to see him, huh?” Solomon’s tone is light and teasing, so you know not to take him seriously as he puts on an hurt expression. “I’m offended. Your dear husband’s right here and you’re thinking about some angel.”
“Oh, stop it, you,” You shake your head in slightly exasperated amusement as he runs a finger down his cheek in lieu of a tear. “You know it’s not like that.”
“Isn’t it?” He pulls an exaggeratedly petulant face and pretends to turn away like an upset child. “Sometimes I feel like you love him more than me.”
“Simeon’s a lovely guy, but you’re still the only guy for me, you doof,” You tell him, tapping fondly at the cheek he’s turned to you with your free hand. Solomon obligingly turns back around to look at you, a grin pulling at his mouth. “Why would I marry you and then stay here for two thousand years if you weren't?”
“I guess I always assumed it was out of pity or something,” He jokes in response, leaning forward and briefly brushing his nose against yours. “And, just so you know, you’re the only guy for me as well.”
“I’d better be,” is your lighthearted reply as he pulls away. After a moment, looking at him expectantly, you begin tentatively, “So…?”
He sighs, but gives you a smile nevertheless. “I’ll ask Diavolo. He probably wouldn’t mind if I brought you without asking first, but Lucifer definitely would.”
“What’ll we do if they hate me?” You ask. “Do demons actually eat humans?”
“They wouldn’t dare,” He replies firmly. “Not if I have anything to say about it. Besides, they won’t hate you. I doubt anyone could.”
You laugh and drop your head to rest on his chest. “You’re too nice to me, love.”
Solomon turns to wrap both his arms around your shoulders, setting his chin on the crown of your head. You smile into his jumper, looping your own arms around his waist and pushing yourself closer to him.
“I’m not just being nice. Honestly, [Name], you’re kind of the most perfect man in the universe.”

HELLO, SOPH, DILAG, AND PILAR! ( @animatedarchives , @applepienation , @ineedselfcontrol-helpme ) On today’s episode of Leia being a dork!
Full name
Uchida Amida (Breath of Galaxy)
Preferred name/nickname
Amida
Generally referred to as
The man who can’t be moved BHDHSB
Appearance
Sex: Male
Height: 5'5"/5′6″
Weight: Somewhere around 50-70 kilos hehe
Build: He’s not muscular but he’s not skinny either.
Hair: Slightly curly and disheveled. (Fujita hates his hair because it’s too frizzy and dry. you can’t run your fingers through it.)
Skin: Surprisingly has a light complexion for someone who is living in the streets his entire life. Though light, his skin does feel rough according to frens.
Eyes: His eyes can sometimes be mistaken as pink but it’s actually purple in color.
Mouth: Plump (Fujita is lowkey jealous)
Hands: Long and boney.
Feet: Average
Scars: Acne scars.
Other features: Has a lot of acne scars.
Noteable features: He looks young (I checked him on the comics and damn he looks really young).
Voice
Accent: Has a hard time pronouncing some words.
Verbal Ticks: None
Language: Let’s assume they speak Nihonggo.
Articulation: He uses words and phrases commoners usually use and that confuses Junko and Fujita.
Laughter: Shrill laugh. Now, Imagine his high pitch laugh and Fujita’s snort in the same room :]]]]
Grump: He clears his throat most of the time.
Breathing: When he’s in awe, he makes this “Owwwww” sound.
Mannerism
Face: He likes to scratch his nose and to caress his cheeks (it’s where Senpai touched him for the last time).
Hands: Knuckle cracks.
Legs/Feet: None.
Habits: None aside from knuckle cracks and nose scratching.
Posture: Straight. He uses this to emphasize his height difference with Fujita and Junko (they hate it. Maria is cool with it).
Walking posture: Surprisingly manly.
Sitting posture: Normal.
Personal space: He’s kind of wary with other people but he wouldn’t mind cuddling with his wife (which only happens once in a blue moon)
Spacial awareness: He’s been living at the streets all his life. He’s very wary of his surrounding, especially that he was taught to be wary of bystanders/thieves whatever
Personal
Introvert/Extrovert: Was an introvert but became an extrovert. Mainly due to Fujita's influence.
Optimist/Pessimist: Pessimist. He just thinks things won’t go according to his way (especially with what happened to his senpai)
Gender: Male
Sexuality: He thought he is gay as he knew he has feelings for his senpai. But he thinks he is bisexual as he has unexplainable feelings for someone.
Romantic: He loves his senpai. And his wife.
Memory: Sharp! Living at the streets has sharpened his memory along with his spacial awareness.
Planning: He never plans. He’s a go with the flow kind of guy which is weird cause he is a pessimist.
Pensive: The only regret he has is when he left Senpai alone that night when they were running away from demons...okay, slightly grateful because he found his amazing friends and his wife :))))
Intuition: He couldn’t even tell if what he’s doing is right or wrong. He usually asks for Fujita’s opinion which is useless as she’s very spontaneous.
Goals: To find his senpai again. And to please his wife.
Insecurities: None.
Achievements: He successfully escaped after being attacked by a demon.
Anxiety: When the group separated ways (separation anxiety).
Overwhelmed: When he had to leave his senpai behind.
Self-help: He’s bad at handling internal conflicts. He usually goes to Fujita or Maria (the best). She (Fuji) doesn’t really give good advice but it calms him down.
Comforts: His friends, Fujita, and the thought of Senpai.
Philosophy: None.
Triggers: Demons. And blood.
The Past
Parents/Guardians: He grew in the streets. His memory is hazy but he remembers a woman leaving him behind at a temple. He lived at the streets for days, dehydrated and starving. He's lowkey just waiting to die at this point.
Then his senpai (He never asked for his name. He always used the honorific), who happens to be also homeless, lend him his hand and before Amida knew it, he lived with his senpai. Surviving by scavenging and stealing.
School: The streets became his teacher.
Adolescence: He grew taller, I guess. But still baby face.
Leaving home: Leaving senpai, the one who considers home, made his life feel like death. Though he is accompanied with his friends, he admits that he still lingers to the thought of his senpai.
Further education:
Life events: Amida and his senpai were attacked by a demon. In the hopes of protecting Amida, Senpai let himself be wounded. A huge tear was on his back as he and Amida ran away from the demon’s sight.
Hiding in the woods, senpai covered Amida with mud in the hopes that it would cover Amida’s scent. He then told Amida to run on his own and to leave him behind as the demon would be able to trace him no matter what. Amida was able to hug his senpai for the last time before fleeing the forest. A tearful goodbye :’[[[
Worst day of their life: When he followed senpai. He shouldn’t have left him.
Lessons: There’s no such thing as ‘dull moment’ with his senpai. Even when he left, it was still brimming with life.
The Relationships
At this time, Fujita just ran away from hers as well. Amida, on the other hand, was decaying himself. People avoided him thinking he was crazy but he couldn’t care less. He felt like it was useless anyway.
Family: Senpai is the only one closest to family. Not until he met his friends and now, he might just have his own.
Pre-events:
After leaving senpai behind, he was alone at he street for days. Not until he met someone: Fujita.
Not until Fujita lend him her hand. She offered him food and clothing as she said he was an ‘eyesore’ when in reality, he reminded her of her brother (she thinks maybe this was her brother’s state before he died).
Friendships: Fujita, Maria, and Junko.
I can’t really describe their relationship but Fujita is very much important for Amida and vice versa.
Future events:
Maria, Junko, and Fujita separated ways with different goals. Amida's goal this time is to find Senpai, to find solace, alone. But he had separation withdrawals and so, in between his trsvels, he'd visit Fujita from time to time, bringing along different items with him from places he went to as a gift for her. It's just... Fujita's the second important person for Amida. She calms her down and Amida would realize soon she is as important as senpai and he wouldn't forgive himself if he loses someone special the second time around. He asked for her hand in marriage.
Friends in need: He loves to help with the chores (cleaning, cooking, etc.) along with Maria and Junko (lmao Fujita would never).
Annoyance: When in an argument, he’s mostly silent. When you scream at him, he wouldn’t scream back. He wouldn’t speak his mind and he would just let his mind absorb the hate which is toxic of course.
I haven’t really described his relationship with Fujita but I think Amida has feelings for Fujita as her kindness (when she found him) reminded him so badly of Senpai. Though they argue and bicker all the time, he knows deep inside he would never hurt her and he’d be willing to risk his life for her.
Romance: s e n p a i. And his wife :)))
Pre-events:
Marital problems: None. They're still in the honeymoon stage of their marriage :)))
You can consider it love but I don’t think it shouldn’t be when he only likes her as she reminds him of the person he really loves.
In the long run, he finally realizes that Fujita is someone as special as senpai and the longer he knows her, the more he realizes he cares and sees her differently from senpai.
Adversaries: -
Enemies: Demons.
Strangers: He’s very confident when talking to strangers now that he met his friends. He unconsciously wants to protecc them ✨
Fun stuff: He loves it when he and the gang do nothing and they just do silly things.
Best friend: Fujita, Junko, and Maria.
Dating:
Pre event: did thought of going to places with Fujita though.
Future events: LMAO HE'S MARRIED.
Love: His senpai. And his wife :))))
Interactions
Respect: Fujita. He respects her for not hesitating to help him when she found him.
Junko. Because she was that strong to be able to accept him despite being hateful towards men.
Maria. For being patient and wise despite all the shit she's been through.
Mingling: He’s very approachable and is friends with the pillars and other slayers.
Comfort levels: Comfortable to talk to anyone.
Physical: The little physical touches Fujita give: ruffling his hair, pinching him, slapping him (during banters), pushing him, etc. HE CRAVES FOR IT P L E A S E
Group: He’s fine talking to other people outside his social group.
Jealous: Jealous of no one. He's a contented man.
Temper: Surprisingly short? He easily gets irritated with Fujita’s remarks. Or like when people hurt his friends.
Empathy: He feels for Maria, Junko, and Fujita as they all had a rough past as well.
Affectionate: Lowkey. He’d express it through harsh words and scoldings.
Distaste: When he hates someone, he tends to become very sarcastic to the point that the others would tell he’s faking it.
Responsibility: He feels like senpai’s death is his responsibility. He blames himself to this day.
Self-esteem: Sometimes, he feels like his combat skills is not enough. Because if he is really good like the others say, how come he wasn’t able to save his senpai that night?
Honesty: Not very honest. He hates deep talks.
Leader or follower: A leader alongside with Maria.
Praise: He loves his senpai’s praises. He hates Fujita’s praises because he feels like she’s just being sarcastic.
Criticism: He accepts them well.
Insults: He’s fine with other people insulting him but it’s a different scenario if it was Fujita, senpai, or his friends that you are insulting.
Embarrassment: He’s embarrassed when Fujita says something so sincere. JDBSBDHSB or when he receives compliments from Maria AND COMPLIMENTS SPECIFICALLY FROM JUNKO THO BECAUSE SHE IS A WOMAN OF FEW WORDS
Flirting: He can’t. Senpai’s face would flash on his mind. BUT SIKEEEEE he worked his way on Fujita without him knowing
Attention span: Very attentive!

tv show asks: 1, 9, 18, & 20
1. A show that you wish you could be a character on.
HSMTMTS. If only I was a teacher in that school lmao. Because after this season, it is clear that these poor kids need some responsible adults in their lives who will put their needs and growth first. Lord knows Miss Jenn didn’t live up to that, and poor Mr. Mazzara can’t possibly manage it all on his own.
9. A show that you wish more people would watch.
LOVE VICTOR. I love how nuanced this show’s take on coming out is, not to mention all the other themes that are intertwined. Watching Victor struggle to accept himself, and the inadvertent pain he causes others by trying to deny who he is even after he knows, is a rare thing to see in media because it’s all so delicate. I can empathize with Victor while acknowledging that his decisions, while understandable, have caused harm. On top of that, there’s themes of mental health, of loyalty and trust, of family (blood and chosen), self-image, and balancing strongly-held faith with the gray realities of the world. I think this show is so valuable for teaching empathy. Everyone should watch it!
18. A show that you believe should have had more seasons.
Andi Mack. I get that other shows, especially on Disney +, have since eclipsed AM’s progressivism, but I think this was a show that started it all. I think it’s also suitable and engaging for younger audiences than, say, HSMTMTS. The lessons this show taught about being true to yourself, and the way it handled such delicate topics such as femininity, coming of age, coming out, mental health, even gun violence, was all very well done for a children’s show, and i love that it lends itself so well to being a show that all ages can watch. I could easily see myself as a parent watching this with my kids and then having a discussion about the themes presented. It’s a shame it only got 3 seasons.
20. A show you always recommend to people.
Outside of people I know will enjoy various Disney shows, I often recommend Leverage! It’s older now, kinda campy, and some episodes were definitely a bit problematic by today’s standards, but overall it still holds up. And I’m a sucker for a good heist, especially one with endearing characters and a self-aware sense of humor.
Thanks for the ask!

BTS as... ‘ordinary’ employees
Okay so when I say ‘ordinary’ I mean as in not famous basically. This is more what I just have personally imagined them doing and I think I’ve lost that somewhat ‘realistic’ touch I used to have a few years back when I was more of an avid writer for this blog and could have an idea of their actual personalities, current likes, etc. This is also in no way a reflection of what I think they are and aren’t capable of so please don’t scream at me if your bias has a ‘lower’ role than you might have expected.
Sorry I do like to blabber on before these things, don’t I?
I hope everybody is staying safe anyways and happy imagining!
BTS as... Masterlist here
RM
Pawn Shop Sales Assistant
learning everything about every thing
if you have an object to sell for cash
he probably knows everything about it
or at least like a lot about it
his career is in early days right now
because it’s a family trade
but he learns from the best
but asks not to be favourited over other staff just because he’s the manager’s son
like you know he wants someone to tell him if they think he didn’t get a good deal for that ring
no special treatment please
sometimes uses a bit of the old charm to get a good deal
many girls like that
some of the guys not so much
especially the boyfriends
whoops
meets his wife there
she’s a fairly regular customer
buying good finds from charity shops
or finding stuff in the house
and taking them to the pawn shop to get by and save up a little
they really click
after like the 11th visit he finally plucks up the courage to ask her out
“so, uh... I clock off soon and I was wondering if....
uh....”
and he gets quite flustered because he really likes her
“... would you like to maybe grab a coffee with me?”
and she sort of teases him to fluster him
“I don’t like coffee”
“Oh erm....”
“Just kidding”
and inside he’s like “don’t DO that to me!”
fast forward a few years and he’s got a kid with her
but anyway back to joon as an employee
has many many friends in and around the industry
just people over the years who he’s needed to contact to double check some stuff about an item
sometimes there’s the odd nutter who comes into the shop
like any shop really let’s be honest
but oddly enough, Namjoon has a calming effect on them
maybe he’s just really patient
maybe he has great negotiating skills
but if someone kicks off at one of his colleagues
it’s resolved in under ten - fifteen minutes
he reasons with people who are shocked to find out that their gold isn’t actually real gold
or negotiates with those who thought they had something worth more
or sometimes just has to outright sass back at the aggressive ones
but most people find him to be an agreeable guy
banter with his dad / manage
rand although he gets on with everyone there
there’s that one colleague that just becomes his best mate
and this mate is also in on the banter
but again, there’s no staff feeling left out or not getting the same treatment
it’s a family business
and anyone that helps them along the way is family too
Jin
Sales Assistant
in a big supermarket
stacking shelves
helps customers that can’t reach the higher shelves
such a gentleman
lovely customer service
some wish they could give him a tip
but he wouldn’t take it most of the time even if it was allowed
he doesn’t need to be paid to show basic kindness
it’s just manners really
but he doesn’t fully realise how much he goes above and beyond
very patient at explaining stuff to people
he’ll repeat directions 10 times if he has to
and he helps the elderly make smarter shopping choices
not that his manager knows that though
because he’s supposed to focus on building up bigger transactions
but what can he say
he’s just a people person
empathy and understanding levels are like 1000/10
a good bean
wish you could be served by him all the time
people purposely queue up at his lane when he’s on tills
because he just provides a friendly smile
and pleasant conversation
“how was your day?”
and he’s not saying it because he has to
he’s genuinely interested in what everybody has to say
takes forever but becomes a supervisor
some of his workers often mistake his kindness for dumbness
is that a word, ‘dumb...ness’?
but actually he more than knows what he’s doing
cashes up faster than anyone else ever
has solid ideas to help both business and customer
and whilst it’s a bit difficult getting them out there to higher people
they go for it
from ideas about what customers have previously asked for that the store doesn’t - didn’t - have
to community projects courtesy of tokens from shoppers
even a park that gets set up nearby is named after him
he may seem like just a sales guy to an outsider
but really he’s the heart of the local community
Suga
Tech Support
the funniest you could come across
you know, if you were listening in to the way he deals with some
just pay attention and there won’t be any problems
sometimes he’ll have those days where he’s like
*sigh*
“Have you tried turning it off and on again?”
totally not an IT Crowd reference oops
but seriously that can work like half the time
used to work in some dull office
but took his work to his house
he can basically work wherever and whenever he wants now
as long as he’s got a laptop and a connection
that is the one change he made in his life that made him a lot happier
because although some might turn their noses up to a job like this
it suits him down to the bone
and he doesn’t really care to change career paths any time soon
is up to date with all the tech trends
owns one of everything
well most things
he even has like a drawer of many phones
it’s like a museum of the company he works for lmao
has this spare room that he turned into an office
which definitely could be mistaken for a man cave
the ultimate problem solver
in work and in life
like he can get a phone call about a super complex problem
and he knows what to do just like that
or a mate has a problem with some relationship
and the reply he gives them is just wow
and he’ll have just made their problem sound a lot less stressful or problematic
loves to help people in and out of work
he understands that the people he is helping might be at their worst moment in their work
or it’s an older person desperately wanting to contact family
he doesn’t just solve the technological problems
he calms you at the beginning of the call
he motivates you at the end and wishes you luck
he talks you through the technology in layman’s terms so you can understand what it is you’re doing
and that attitude continues in his social life
he’s the sober friend when you’re crying in the club toilet drunk
he’s the friend that comes knocking on your door because he hasn’t heard from you in a while and he wants to check everything is okay
he will drop you a phone call the day after to see how you’re hanging
or just because
just because he’s an absolute sweetheart
J-Hope
College Tutor
the type that is fairly laid back
but won’t take any shit
so go through your assignment at your own pace
just don’t take the mickey
like he will understand that you might have some personal shit going on
and he’ll extend a deadline under special circumstances
but don’t push your luck by lying to him
happy to have banter with the students
makes lessons fun
but also productive
actually the most productive class(es) of anyone’s day
he’s just one of those tutors you’d love
because he’s engaging
and there’s that one other tutor that no one really likes
because this other guy is boring, dull, basically almost jealous of the students and their ambitions
and although Hoseok won’t say a bad word about his colleague
he can teach you more in half an hour than the other guy does in the entire year
and when you pass the unit he won’t even take credit for the significant part he played
really fucking modest
but he really is one of those teachers that builds lives
keeps quite to himself generally though
has just a small group of friends outside of the college
it’s important to him to keep professional and personal life different
just an overall cool guy
very fair
some say a bit boring
but he’s just sensible really
no one from colleges knows he has a wife
some girls swoon over him and speculate he could be single
and usually he’s oblivious to / ignores any flirting
he’s just here to do his job
he’s here to educate
and he’s here to help you
and he’s happy to help you
Jimin
Dance Instructor
yes, it’s a bit of a typical idea, sorry
but come on
dishy dance teacher whilst you try to learn a style of dance
some students may or may not purposely so bits wrong
because they know Jimin can sometimes be quite physical in his teaching
“Okay, no worries, let’s go back to that bit... It goes like...”
and he’s just behind you to guide you
nice
has his own dance school
holds sessions in the local community centre every weekday night
Monday: contemporary
Tuesday: Street Dance
Wednesday: Musical Theatre
Thursday: Tap
Friday: Ballet
the little un’s are in from 4pm - 5pm
preteens 5pm -6pm
teens / young adults 6pm - 7pm
and finally the adults at 8pm
it sounds like hard work
but dance is all Jimin knows
he’s more than used to is
his stamina is so good
and once his business as a teacher gets up and running
he can afford to put on shows
to showcase all the hard work his students have done
every year, some time in spring
the nearest theatre in town
it’s not as successful as, say, the pantomimes at xmas
but there are plenty of family and friends of the students interested
parents come to watch their kids
adults come to watch their friends
and so on
He has so much faith in everyone
and is proud of every little achievement
at kid’s tap class he’ll be like “wow Sally! that’s amazing! you did a pick up!”
or “keep it going Amanda, you can do it!” at adult ballet
but it’s not just dance achievements he’s interested about
the things you do in your life matter too
sometimes he can be like a therapist
pulls you aside after class if he doesn’t think you were quite as on it as usual today
“are you okay today? you seemed distracted”
yes by your beautiful presence
just kidding
kinda
and you can just tell him
he’s always there to listen if you need to talk about something that you don’t want to tell friends or family
he’s there for anything really
like maybe a teen is struggling with exams
and his encouragement really contributes to them pulling through
“you passed maths! I’m so proud! I knew you could do it!”
and there’s always the big squeezy hug that follows
he loves everyone
everyone loves him
no one can say a bad word about him
like seriously, no one can
V
Vintage store owner
Tae always wanted to own a shop
ever since he was a kid
he didn’t quite know what it was that appealed to him
but just the idea of running a store that’s your own
that’s the dream he worked towards
ever since school
weekend jobs
errands for neighbours
he saved every penny
and invested it on the cute little building
on the block before the high street
Not like a charity shop
well some of the stock is second hand
but that’s because it’s real vintage
actually not just vintage, further back than that
like some of his stock can be referred to as ‘antique’
anything that has history
everything in his little shop has a story
the decorative chandelier that belonged to a middle class family in the early 1900′s
a vase made in Japan that someone brought back from touring the country years ago
velvet upholstery that could have been part of a noble household in Europe
glassware from the 70′s with intricate design
just cool stuff
you could spend hours in his shop
knows a lot about antiques, collectables, etc
blink and you’ll miss if you want something there
if you see it and you love it the first time you go in
you better buy it
because it’ll be gone even by this evening
his knowledge makes him a brilliant sales person
because the way he delivers the information about an object
just makes you want to buy it
so as you can imagine, sales are always good
everyone within a couple miles radius probably has something in their home bought from Tae’s store
Jungkook
Firefighter
because phwoar
lmao sorry
wait, no I’m not
can’t you just imagine it though
the uniform
the muscles
okay sorry not sorry
a true hero
like sure, all of his colleagues are too, of course
but he goes that little bit extra
takes more risks
he doesn’t let much scare him
passionate about what he does
can mean he gets a bit extra in other aspects of his life
because he knows the dangers of literally anything
like you leave the hairdryer plugged in a few minutes after using it and he’s like
“NOOO!”
*dramatically, almost full takes a leaping dive to get there, unplugs it*
adrenaline rushes
he lives for those
a very can do attitude
feels amazing after rescuing anyone from anything
it could be a cat in a tree, evacuating people in a flood, or a person from a house fire
if he has helped them, it’s all rewarding
just good at everything
the job of course prepared him for lots
but he’s just like REALLY good at everything
first aid pro
ultimate calming skills
navigation and driving - smooth
excellent judgement
even the science behind it all, he knows more than enough
all that jazz
he often gives lessons to younger people
because it’s important that incidents can be prevented
he’s very popular when he makes appearances in schools
because all the girls fancy him
obvs
some guys too hahaha
and I don’t just mean the ones that are quite sure they might be gay
anyways
pretty close to being a real life super hero
like he has to work at unsociable hours
but everyone in the area knows him
there’s hardly a street he walks down without someone saying hello
and even when they’re experiencing some of the worst possible situations
he just brings smiles to people’s faces

Getting through cramps is an entire ass TRIP i swear to god
the waves of pain, the brief glimpses of relief, the way every sensation is just glaringly uncomfortable and then suddenly they’re just...gone
I sat still for 20 minutes after my cramps today bc the sharp pain that normally heralds the last gripping moments of intense pain for me didn’t come and I literally didn’t trust how good it felt to be alive lmao
always a huge lesson in breathing, grace, empathy and gratitude.

apparently pune doctors are loath to get out in this weather. shankar vows to get them to mumbai faster.
ok sona is going into parvati mode.
ouff, iska raima jaap. ab toh nafrat ho gayi hai with the very concept of raima.
lol paani ki bottal nahi hai, medical box nahi hai, kuch bhi nahi hai, toh sona is making patti out of her dupatta and rainwater. a regular macgyver only she is.
finally, she saw the phone!
aaaaaaaaand she dropped it. ouff, i hate contrived drama like this.
full family does not seem to understand the concept of a loved one's intuition when something is wrong. IT'S A REAL THING, YOU EMPATHY-LESS BITCHES.
thank god they finally picked up.
of all those things, bukhaar is the most worrying one? not the chot and the behoshi????
phone dead. this episode is really trying The Fucking Most with me with this bullshit.
CHARGER WIRE BHI NAHI HAI. HAI KYA IS GAADI MEIN, HEIN???? CHAAR PAIYYEN TOH HAI NA???? YA WOH BHI KAHIN PE UTAAR RAKH DIYE??????

AJIT. MY FAVT SMOL BEAN. BEST SIPPY BOY HAI TU. I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY DAMN HEART, KID.
excoose, yk? why you taking nosy akash's side? you think this will get you brownie points with him re: the whole pooja thing? pls. aisa kuch bhi nahi hone waala.
great now rohan is also jumping in. FUCK, DANGAL CHAL RAHA HAI KYA????? ARE THE SIPPYS GONNA START BRAWLING HERE LIKE THE OBROS/VIRANIS??? (@ me but this is the best fucking thing mais has ever made, and i still go and watch it every few weeks and lmao like it's the first time i'm seeing it.)
also why is today's episode so damn long for this faltoo ki bakchodi? i can't handle this much nonsense drama in one day.
my god shut the fuckkkk uppppppppp all of youuuuuuuu i hate you all. ajit/veena, pls gtfo this room full of fucking lunatics.
vimmi is like uhhhhhhh, if any of you dipshits actually cares, just fyi - rohit's reached the hospital.
hein? itniiiiiii serious thi baat? surgery mein ghusaa diya?
oh. stomach pump kar rahein the coz he drank poisonous sharaab. ofc. jo glenfiddich peeta hoga, uski body will obviously reject desi tharra.
ugh i hate you naren.
this relationship means EVERYTHING to me. fucking everything.
oh ho veena, your son is a grownass man of like 35, pls stop taking responsibility for his poor life decisions. hadh hoti hai.
mom is like OMFG SOMEONE ELSE KNOWS ABOUT RAIMA I CAN FINALLY TALK ABOUT IT TO SOMEONE WITH A FUNCTIONING BRAIN CELL AND SOME EMPATHY JFC THANK GODDDDD
sona's like i'm no ACP pradyuman, but your son has Big Time Issues, ma'am. care to explain?
for perhaps the first time in the history of desi moms, one respectfully declines to comment on her kid’s personal shit. my respect for veena just shot waaaaaaaaaaaay up.
air hostess; is that what veena said raima was? my sound was kinda muddy there.
oh shit, no one else knew about raima? but ajit seemed to hint about it the other day, which led rohit to have his Bekhayali Breakdown???
ok they just confirmed all the things we already knew: rohit operated on raima, and is somehow the cause for her being in a coma rn. it was Extremely Stereotypical Bengali Mom that slapped him.
26th september. ohhhhh boy.
OMG JUST TELL US, DID SHE RUN OVER RAIMA OR NOTTTTTTTT?????
———————————————————————
ok sona, kuch zyaaaaaada ho raha hai. maybe go a little easier on the dude, he's been through a lot last night.

Hello! I have to write an essay paragraph for english, but i really don't want to, it was also due today and my teacher got mad at me because i didn't do it lmao. So! Im going to write it here because i feel that it really motivates me to actually write more and to try and write well. The book we are studying is to kill a mockingbird
the essay topic: "you never really know a man until you stand in his shoes" Prejudice claims many victims in Maycomb.
-
-
Prejudice in Maycomb is targeted towards anyone that does not fit the ideal and traditional Maycomb mould. This includes and is mainly targeted toward african Americans and in this case Tom Robinson. Tom Robinson makes the point that if Atticus was "a n***** like [him that he'd] be scared, too." This is a direct reference by Harper Lee to the lesson of standing in another mans shoes. By Tom saying to Atticus in the trial Lee shows that there are many victims of prejudice in Maycomb, not only mockingbirds, but also others, like Atticus who in the novel makes a point of teaching his children this important lesson, but still needs to be reminded of it himself, which shows that he is also a victim of prejudice, though not on the receiving end. To somewhat contrast with this Prejudice does not only victimise men in the court house, but also in the safety of their own homes. The perfect example of this is Boo Radley. The point Scout makes that "you never really know a man until you stand in his shoes" is evident in the relationship between Scout and Boo. Throughout the novel Atticus is trying to teach Scout the lesson of empathy, The real reason being that she and her brother constantly bullied and ridiculed Boo behind his back, regardless of whether he knew this was happening or not, he was a real victim of prejudice and Scout never learns the true meaning of this until the end of the book when she really gets to see things from his perspective. Harper Lee uses these two characters to show the many forms of prejudice. Whether they be secret or so known that it becomes routine, the discriminations and judgment isn't visible from a privelaged point of view.
Please let me know what you think of this paragraph!
not gonna lie I think it might be the best essay paragraph I've ever written lmao
-Stella
me again - this is also from my other blog and i realised after posting it that there was a lot of typos but I’m too lazy to fix them and i don't really care. but not caring is a one off i promise ;)

my r [saeran]
based off of the song 'my r' | fem!reader | soulmate au but i'll tell you which at the end (don't skip there!) | v sad ending my bad | also unedited but that's nothing new lmao
also, i know the act of taking off your shoes before committing suicide has Japanese origin but for the sake of the oneshot just pretend pls. this is a slightly different storyline than the main game as well ^^;
this is from my wattpad so it’s format is a little different than it usually is here ^^;
TW: Suicide/implied suicide, abuse, swearing, general sadness & angst.
Please be VERY careful and if you're feeling depressed PLEASE talk to someone. NEVER take your own life, I promise it's not worth it.
Saeran pushed open the door to the rooftop. He had had enough, his energy was completely drained and honestly? He really saw no point to the world. Monochrome. Monochrome was his life, his resolve, his will to keep on living. His soulmate could do better. God, soulmates. The thought made him feel cold, lonely, empty. Saeran was still young, 23 was a perfectly acceptable age to not have a soulmate. In fact, the elderly home that he volunteered at occasionally had many people still without a soulmate.
But Saeran didn't really care. About the words on his wrist nor about the existence of a soulmate of his own. The abuse from his mother until she passed, maybe, ten years ago, had slowly squeezed every drop of empathy from him, sucking him dry. He was 13 when she finally died. From there, he was placed into foster care - without his brother. But nobody wanted a husk of a child. At 15 he finally ran away and got a temporary job as a florists assistant. After that, he simply existed.
Now here he was, at 23, standing above the city with a note clutched firmly in his hand. Sighing, he wandered over to a bench, sitting down to remove his shoes. That's when he saw a purse, left beside him on the seat. Eyes widening, Saeran jolted, frantically looking around the edge of the skyrise. Across the rooftop, stood a girl with two, loose, (h/c) braids. She was in a loose, black top and high-waisted shorts. Behind her rested two black shoes, socks tucked neatly inside. Her back was turned to him and she looked up at the night sky, stars barely visible against the light of the city.
Saeran froze. He didn't know what to do. He watched as she stepped up onto the ledge. In a fit of panic, he stood, pacing quickly across the cement roof.
"Hey! Don't do it, please!"
Woah, wait a minute, what the fuck did I just say? He was now behind her, heaving slightly from moving so suddenly, eyes wide. I don't even care - I don't have the right to care. Saeran clenched his hands into tight fists by his side. He was pissed now. This was such a missed opportunity. Damn.
You turned around - slowly so you didn't fall - before seeing the accuser of the shouting. Before you stood a man, roughly your age, with silvery-white hair. The tips were a light pink and the roots had begun to grow out into a soft vermillion. He wore a black jacket, red singlet and had a striking tattoo on his right arm. But what captivated you most were his eyes - one a luminescent gold, the colour of honey and the other a bright teal that seemed to literally glow. Your breath caught in your throat. Swept up in the soft amber glow of the city, this stranger looked simply stunning.
Little did you know, he was equally captivated by you.
"Please, just come down from there. I promise, whatever is pushing you to this is so much more fucking insignificant than you might think."
"...Okay..." A whisper fell from your lips. Hey, Saeran considered, it's a start.
Slowly, you stepped down from the ledge, pulling yourself over the glass railing. Moving quietly as to not startle you, the stranger picked up your shoes and held out a hand to you. Tentatively, you took it and he guided you further onto the rooftop. You reached the bench where you had abandoned your purse. There, you began to talk. 'You've probably heard it all before,' you said. You told him about your cheating boyfriend, about how - on your three-year anniversary mind you, - he admitted to seeing other people behind your back. You were absolutely devastated. 'I really thought he might be the one, but then he told me he was done.'
Saeran grit his teeth. You've got to be kidding me.
"Oh, for god's sake, please!" He shouted, standing to face you in frustration. You jumped slightly, startled by his unexpected reaction. "Are you serious?!"
"W-What...?"
"I just can't believe that for some stupid reason - for some fucking asshole - you got here before me!" His outburst came as a painful shock to the system. "Are you upset, just because you couldn't get what you wanted? You've got to be joking- at least you've never been robbed of anything! Of your future, of your friends!"
You blinked in surprise before your vision hazed. You felt the soft, familiar trickle of tears as you forced out a broken laugh. Burying your face in your hands, you nodded, chest heaving in disbelief as you came to your senses. The stranger was silent now and you looked up, crookedly smiling at him. "Yeah. God, you're so right. What the hell am I doing...?" All the tension drained from your body and you gazed up at the sky, exhausted. "I'm feeling better now, thank you."
Saeran was quiet for a moment. How do you respond to that? He had never been good at socialising with others. "You don't need to thank me." He murmured, turning to face the sky as well.
You laughed from beside him and he paused, listening. After a moment, he decided he liked the sound of your laughter more than your crying.
"I will anyway. Thank you for listening, and for talking me down."
He let a small smile touch his lips. "Yeah, no problem."
Alright, today. Today is the day.
Several months after his last attempt, Saeran wandered up onto the rooftop of his apartment complex once more. It was late afternoon and he wanted to get this over with before he could be interrupted again. Stretching lazily, he rested a hand against the wall to support himself, unlacing his shoes and kicking off his socks. He dug around in his jacket pocket, picking out a letter from between his keys and phone. Holding onto it tightly so it wouldn't fly away in the breeze, Saeran tucked his phone and keys into his shoes.
Glancing up, he froze. What the fuck is she doing back here? Again, just like last time, the girl with (h/c) hair stood on the edge, just beyond the glass panes. She rested tranquilly against the railing, quietly lost thought. This time, she wore a knitted cream jumper and a black skirt. Her hair glowed amber in the afternoon light, the breeze picking it up and toying with it. Saeran watched warily as she mindlessly drew patterns on the glass edge. It was then Saeran realised how delicately she held herself. It was though she thought of herself as glass.
"Oi! What the hell do you think you're doing?!" He shouted, voice carrying across the breeze.
You started at the sudden interruption in your stream of thought. Wait a moment, I recognise that voice... Turning, you faced the same stranger who stopped you last time, his hair lit up gold in the honey, afternoon glow. Barefoot, he walked toward you as you twisted to rest your body weight on the thin railing. You heard cars behind you - the evening rush. "Hey, stranger. What a coincidence."
"Come on, dipstick. You'll slip, get back over here." He held out a hand to you and a soft chuckle slipped through your lips. You unfurled your arms, taking his hand and climbing nimbly back over the railing.
Saeran internally sighed in relief, glad she stepped down so easily. If she hadn't... well, he wouldn't know what to do. God, he thought, I'm such a hypocrite.
"Why do you even care what happens to me?" Her soft-spoken words shook him out of his stupor. "Everyone else ignores me, everyone else steals. It's not like we exactly fit together either."
Saeran glanced down at the girl by his side. She looked out over the cityscape, resting against the railing once more, and he could see her (e/c) eyes looked a little duller than last time. Sighing tiredly, he looked over the skyrises as well. "You must be joking." Out of the corner of his eye, he saw her glance at him. He continued, "another day, another stupid reason to get here before me."
He looked over at her, catching her quiet eyes. "Even if your friends seem to hate you, you still have your family and they still love you. Even if everyone backstabs you, you still have dinner on the table when you go home. Right?" Saeran held her gaze, watching her reaction closely.
You gasped softly, caught in the man's tired eyes. They were even more beautiful up close. What the hell am I doing... Why haven't I learnt my lesson yet? I'm such an idiot. You smiled lightly. "Yeah. I'm hungry."
Stepping away from the railing, you picked up your shoes and walked barefoot back to the door. Beaming, you faced the stranger. "Come get some food with me - my treat. For saving me again."
Saeran blinked before chuckling to himself. It's going to have to wait. As long as he could guarantee the girl standing in front of him would be okay tonight, he could survive a few more weeks. It was okay, even if no one did the same for him. Even if he had to hide his own pain every time he took on hers.
-
Half a year later, he tries again. Exactly like the first time, Saeran sees (Y/N). Sitting on the edge. She wore a soft yellow cardigan and her hair was loosely braided.
"(Y/N)...?" He surprised himself by speaking. He didn't think his voice could be so soft. It's become a habit and before he knows it, his shoes are off and he's running towards her. Saeran's hands shake as he jumps over the railing, slowing to a stop behind her. (Y/N) was uncharacteristically quiet.
After their impromptu dinner 6 months ago, they exchanged phone numbers and kept in contact. (Y/N) had moved back in with her parents while she got back on her feet and they hadn't been able to meet for some time. Some time passed and she suddenly stopped answering her phone. Saeran would never admit it, but he was incredibly worried about her and constantly hoped she was okay.
Walking to her side, he took a seat next to her. Noting her shoes were already off, he watched her carefully. Her eyes were completely dull, lifeless, familiar. He knew those eyes. He knew those eyes very well. He knew those eyes because those eyes were the exact same that stared at him in the mirror every morning. Those eyes that smiles never quite reached, that laughter didn't crease and that didn't light up in anticipation. Oh, god, what have they done to you?
Silently, she reached out, grasping his hand tightly. Her eyes never left the horizon as the wind picked up, ruffling her hair and lifting her cardigan. Bandages...
"I just want to stop the scars that grow every time that I go home. That's why I came up here instead." That's what the girl in the cardigan said.
...Woah, wait a minute, what did I just say? I couldn't care less either way. But in the moment, I just screamed something that I did not believe.
"Hey, don't do it, please."
Panic. Saeran's fight or flight response triggered and a wave of dread overcame him. AAAA What to do! I can't stop her this time, oh this is new. For once I think I've bitten off more than I can chew. He clasped her hand tightly to his chest. The wind bit at his eyes as icy tears began to spill. (Y/N) froze. Then her eyes turned sad, so very sad and she shoved herself further back onto the ledge before tugging him into her embrace. Please just go away, so I can't see... Your pitiful expression is just too much for me.
A broken laugh fell from your lips as you held Saeran as tight as you could muster. "I guess today is just not my day." You pursed your lips, looking out over the sunset. "I guess today is just not my day."
There's no one on the rooftop today. I guess it's time. Saeran surveyed the empty roof. Yep. No one. He sighed, kicking off his shoes and socks. He fumbled in his pocket for the fourth time, pulling out letter number four. Rewritten, permanently. Just me, myself and I. He exhaled lightly, dropping his phone and keys into his shoes as well as a second letter, just in case.
"There's no one who can interfere. No one to get in my way." He mumbled, cracking his neck. Taking off his jacket, he dropped it on the railing before running a hand through his red locks. "I'm going to do it. And I'll be free." He mounted the railing, dropping swiftly down onto the other side. "I'll be okay, (Y/N)."
You sprinted towards the rooftop door. You knew something was wrong - why didn't I check on him earlier? Yanking it open, your bare feet stung against the concrete as you raced towards the man on the edge of the building. Idiot, idiot, idiot! You screamed before you could even consider stopping yourself.
"SAERAN! DON'T DO IT! PLEASE!"
A doctor in the ward was the first to notice. Your last words to him cried loud enough for bystanders to finally notice the commotion on the rooftop. Your last words, carved into his wrists as his were into yours.
soulmate AU where the first and last words you say to your soulmate are written on their wrists, but the first only appear after you've said the last. weellll i just made myself sad

what's it like being a teacher?? i've always thought of being one but never knew if i was up for it, especially for pre-k
sorry i didnt get notified abt this thanks tumblr fasjdfadf
but tbh its super fun??? i love it. over the years ive wanted to do either nursing or an art teacher for middle school/high school. but i needed to make Money and my mom got a job at this holistic school and they offered me a job too as her aid. within like a week i absolutely fell in love with it and i knew that early childhood development was what i HAD to get my degree in. i’d helped out my mom working at daycares before or doing various nannying jobs, but this is the first time i’ve been like... in a classroom setting for hours 5 days a week.
but! it’s really fun. it’s not for everyone, though. basically to be a teacher u gotta a) have a ton of empathy b) have patience and c) think of kids, no matter how young, as completely your equal. they have the same emotional capacity as adults and they’re way smarter than you’d think. if those aren’t things you think are your strong suits then it might not be a good fit and thats okay!
but basically... as a teacher, u do things like... lesson planning, making sure kids are emotionally okay, calming yourself down and smiling anyway when a particularly tough kid starts acting up, willing to have Fun as far as you can physically. like... playing pretend, picking kids up and spinning them around, joining them if they’re playing w slime/play dough, just in general trying to get to their level to understand them more and not just seem like a stand offish adult who doesnt Understand them.
tbh to ME pre k is way easier than older kids. i’ve had to teach a couple classes at this school to elementary-hs kids and it’s a lot more difficult than pre k imo. with pre k like... most of the kids are potty trained, so that’s a plus. and they’re hyper as hell but you kinda get used to the noise and it’s worth it bc they’re incredibly cute and loving. like, today i had a little 3 year old sitting next to me while i was making flash cards and she wanted to color with me so she just kept coloring lil squiggles and then gluing them together and handing them to me saying they were cards for me. another kid (my favorite kid) was super excited bc i stayed passed lunch today (usually i go home before lunch) and he hugged my legs and kept walking around attached to my legs. u also get random high fives and hugs.
really the only difficult part abt pre k is that sometimes the kids will like. melt down but bc theyre so young it’s hard to calm them down bc they don’t really... Understand how to get themselves to a calmer place. but even then like. theres usually a reason behind why theyre acting that way. like one girl in my class has parents who just... never see her. shes always in aftercare and then on weekends she goes to daycare. she only sees them at most like 4 hours a day. so whenever she starts crying over smth small or losing it out of nowhere, it’s p easy to go “okay, there’s a reason for this, let me just hold her until she starts to calm down”. like i said, you just rlly gotta be empathetic. try and understand where they’re coming from and the job is super easy.
but in summary: it’s a p easy job for me and it’s incredibly rewarding bc you get to see kids learn and grow and watch as concepts click for them, as well as getting a TON of affection and having an outlet for your affection as well. the hardest part is just really... being able to gain control/respect ig bc some kids if they’re losing it you can calm down p easy bc they respect you, where others might just flat out ignore you. w those ones u just gotta breathe and smile anyway lmao

(transcripted convo)
i’m reposting a discussion i had w a terf. i previously posted screenshots but she messaged me and said she didn’t want her url or avatar displayed. editing the pics to post them again was hell so i’m posting a script instead (i learned my lesson tumblr: you suck). if anyone ends up finding the convo and thus the redacted speaker... idc. this is a public website and we technically had this convo in public - the notes of a post aren’t private spaces afaik. i’m posting this as proof that sometimes calmly reasoning with ppl lead to nothing. (i know anyone could say the same but lmao leave me alone.)
tw for transphobia/transmisogyny
[redacted] (speaking to a transmasc discourser about the "woman path"): Ok let me explain what I mean :) if your experience was totally different then thats fine :) im 24 and when I was little i was encouraged to play with dolls and learn 'motherly things' like playing with baby dolls while my brother played with toy trucks. There was a lot of pressure at school to wear dresses, and be sweet and polite. @[transmasc discourser] then of course, learning to deal with periods and the shame and taboo around them. Removing body hair because its considered unladylike. Etc
@[transmasc discourser] have you had none of those experiences?
neonbaebae: these are all common experiences for women bc of gender roles/stereotypes but none of that defines womanhood as an identity.
[redacted]: completely agree they are gender roles. But menstruation isnt a gender role. Its a frustrating part of being female. But that said, what IS womanhood then?
(rest under cut)
neonbaebae: menstruation is a biological function that is in no way exclusive to female bodies. remember intersex ppl, who come in all forms and shapes. women aren't all the same and it's likewise for men. there are intersex women who don't fit all the criteria for being "female" yet still identify as women. there is a distinction to make between womanhood as an experience and womanhood as an identity.
the woman experience is what you've described. the woman identity is feeling like one, e.g.: liking female-coded clothes, makeup, hairstyles, feeling comfortable in the societal role of being a woman. identity is essentially abt self perception most of the time
[redacted]: intersex is unique and I respect that not all womens bodies are the same. Intersexuality is complex but it doesnt represent the majority of biological women. I dont have a strong baclground in intersex knowledge so I'm certainly not gonna speak on behalf of intersex women. so if identity is self perception (which I completely agree with) how can a biological man self perceive his femaleness.if he's never experienced it?
neonbaebae: trans women never identify with being male and all in entails. and they can see, thru watching women counterparts and how they interact with the world around them, that they id more w the idea of womanhood and much less w the idea of manhood. it's esp why dysphoria often settles around puberty bc the dissonance manifests physically and that's harder to handle
[redacted]: but what youre talking about is what trans women see women do. If thats what someone aspires to, its a very basic and narrow understanding of what womanhood is. Its only what they see. And people are far more complex than this. Does a biological male aspire to periods stigma, beauty conformity and lesser social stance in the world? Or do they aspire to femininity? Something many biological women dont feel comfortable with
neonbaebae: womanhood as an identity is a feeling that is strengthened by a disconnection to manhood, its polar opposite. someone who completely rejects the idea of being man is likely to prefer being a woman (not always but likely!). many trans women do aspire to femininity and it has nothing to do with the cis women who are uncomfortable w it, just like there are many cis women who embrace it too.
many trans women cannot quite explain their transition in another way than "being a man felt wrong but being a woman feels right and authentic to my true self". i'd suggest to ask an actual trans woman for her pov tho since i'm not one, i'm just basing myself on what i've heard them say
[redacted]: but feeling disconnected with manhood (which is understandable and gender roles are frustrating) doesnt make someone the opposite of a man. As society we need to open our understanding of gender expression. But this isnt the same as thinking 'if I dont feel like a conventional man or connect with male social expectations, then I must be the opposite'. Theres no logic in that
we live in a world where gender stereotype binaries are considered natural, and people who dont fit this understandably feel marginalised. In fact Id argue to a greater or lesser degree, none of us truly fit the prescribed gender binary.
but i find it problematic when a man thinks they're a woman based on what they think 'woman' is.
neonbaebae: you're right in saying that a disconnection from manhood doesn't make someone a woman - a connection to womanhood does. it has v little to do with the upbringing of women which you seem to define thru misogyny and menstruation alone which is frankly a pessimistic view of womanhood. it's less not feeling like a conventional man and more not feeling like a man At All. tru it doesn't sound logical but gender is not logical it's abstract and complex
it seems problematic bc one might think men would gain smth from iding as women but stats show that trans women are at higher risk of assault for being out and open, both of bc of misogyny (not directly related to having a vagina or menstruating after all) & transphobia. it's esp telling that trans men aren't targeted as much. do you disagree w trans men as well?
[redacted]: but as a women i dont connect with womanhood. Lol i am a women. It would be nice to think we live in a world where women are equal, but that's not the world we live in. Womanhood is hard. And we do live under a patriarchal society that's cultivated female inferiority over many centuries. We're still negotiating freedoms today.
Its not about gaining or loss. Its about the male right to self define womanhood on their terms, without the biological or social conditioning. In fact, many have recieved MALE conditioning as children. This comes with its own privileges.
I think transmale is a very different experience so no I categorise them very differently to transwomen
neonbaebae: "as a woman" you say. even if the experiences and stereotypes don't fit you perfectly, even if you reject it, you still id as a woman. you feel like one and you suffer the consequences of being one. believe it or not trans women suffer from iding as a woman as well and thrice as harshly. i can provide sources if you want.
trans women don't think like men bc they feel like women. the thought patterns are different. they don't digest the social messages abt men bc their mind doesn't relate to it. male entitlement and all doesn't apply to them. and in sociology alone womanhood is often defined as more than a biological or upbringing thing. it's a social identity and trans women have a right to it if they don't id and reject manhood altogether
my question tho was do you think trans men aren't men either cus otherwise that'd be hypocritical
[redacted]: my point is its not an identity. Its a reality. Im a woman. I have xx chromosomes and the world treats me as such. Similar to my race. I dont identify as my race, i am treated as the world sees me.
male entitlement does apply. Statistically baby boys are fed for longer than baby girls. And little girls are left to cry for longer than baby boys. Little girls learn many motherly caretaker roles while many of their male counterparts are encouraged to conquer the world. Children are raised by gender. Even subconsciously. I can also provide sources :)
there are many more male leaders and men in authoritive positions in the world. Women fight very hard for the same respect, but womens voices are less valued. It takes no genius to see men have greater standing in the world
about transmen. No I dont consider them men but I'll respectfully use the pronouns anyone prefers, male or female. Its common decency.
I think society needs to get more comfortable with non confirmative gender expression
neonboobear: but it is an identity. that's why there's a distinction between sex (bio) and gender (identity & expression). if it would feel wrong for you to be called a man or nonbinary then that'd be bc you don't id as such. (also there are women with chromosomes other than xx maybe you should avoid phrasing it that way.) i id as my race but race has v different roots & impact than gender historically and it cannot be compared. let's stick with gender.
and i'm not denying gendered socialization but it doesn't shape a child more than their personal feelings on their identity, which can differ v early in life bc (some) would rather engage in activities associated with the opposite gender for example. if it were that simple trans ppl wouldn't go at lengths to "play the part"
you're right society does need to accept gender non conformance but that's v different from the trans experience. i rly think you should have a deep conversation with a trans person to try and see their pov
[redacted]: if womanhood is an identity, it totally invalidates what it means to be female. And yes its arguable that there're are women who arent xx but how about the majority of the population that are. Must we pander to the few at the expense of the majority? also what makes you assume I dont talk to trans people? Critique doesnt mean lack of empathy.
Children and gendered socialization is complex. Maybe if 'feminine' activities werent coded as female and just 'childhood play' we wouldnt have the same degree of dysphoria. It goes back to the irrational logic, 'if I like the pink toy section then I must be a girl.'
neonboobear: i'm afraid that is your pov for the ideology that womanhood is an experience but also an identity is considered a v valid theory in the science field. the fact that there are women with chromosomes other than xx is proof alone that xx chromosomes aren't what makes a woman. and i've suggested a deep conversation and an intention to Understand the Other. not just a talk. i said nothing abt empathy.
there would be less dysphoria but i'm sure it's still be there. many think the abolition of gender would solve everything but i doubt so
[redacted]: i have a close mtf friend and we have the debate constantly. We don't always agree with her but there's a lot more common ground then you might expect :) Gender roles damn us all. Hmmmm... abolition of gender is impossible but theres is a lot that can be done to challenge gender expectations. But not an easy battle! neonbaebae: i mean this with the least offense okay but i sincerely think neither of you should be friends. i’m black and i’d never befriend a racist. that’s a lack of self respect on her part and a plain lack of respect on yours.
i’d like to end this conversation here. i’ve said my point and i’d only repeat myself by continuing. and since i’m not a trans woman i don’t want to misinterpret them (so sorry if i’ve already did. trans girls feel free to bring up clarifications). might sound tedious but i strongly suggest you watch this 50-min long video essay by youtuber contrapoints. her vids are informative and entertaining and so v easy to digest despite the length. i’ve heard she’s not v liked in terf circles but it’s worth it to listen to what she has to say as a trans women.

the stray kids tag
Rules: answer the questions in a new post, and tag 10 blogs you would like to get to know better.
I’ve decided that in celebration of Stray Kids pre-debut album I needed to create a tag. The ultimate goal for The Stray Kids Tag is to learn about your Tumblr mutuals, and have fun answering the Stray Kids related questions! Here we go:
1: When did you decide to join the Stray kids fandom?
i saw a thread of information abt the suspected nine members before they were officially announced and was like ‘yes i must stan them and love them with all of my heart.’ so uh,,,,, back in august or september??
2: What is your favorite episode of Stray Kids? uhm, i’m gonna expose myself rn and let y’all know that i’ve never actually seen a full episode of the show; as soon as i heard it was gonna be a survival show, i knew that i couldn’t watch it bc my heart was too weak and i was emotionally incapable of becoming too invested while watching it; but from clips, i quite like the episode with the 3:3:3 mission, and also the last episode when all nine were reunited and told they were going to debut together
3: Who would you say is your bias in Stray kids?
my initial one was chan, and they i got rlly confused, and then slowly came to realize that it was jeongin (anything else after that is a fucking mess)
4: Who would you say is your bias wrecker in Stray kids?
literally kill me all of them bias wreck me so hard bUT hyunjin, jisung, seungmin, and chan have been wrecking me so hard in particular lately
5: What line would you want to be apart of in Stray kids? uHHH not dance line bc swimmers have 0 coordination on land; i quite like singing even tho i’m not good at, so probably that, but i can also hit all of chan’s english rap parts in 3racha songs, and keep up with lafayette’s raps in hamilton, and a lot of the english rappers i like too so uh,,, sign me up for rap line too
6: What is the first song you heard of Stray kids? hellevator
7: What is the first song you heard of 3racha? i think it was either hoodie season or runner’s high
8: What is your favorite song on their pre-debut album?
young wings or school life or yayaya (or grr or 4419 or glow or hellevator)
9: What is a concept you’d like to see Stray Kids try in the future?
i love their current optimistic and slightly rebellious teenager concept rn bc its an Eternal Mood; but i always love myself a soft boyfriend concept
10: if you could meet with the members of Stray kids for one day what would you say to them?
how proud of them i am, and how proud of themselves they should be; i would tell them about how they’re saying things that resonate deeply for their fans and i love that they’re talking abt real world problems; i would also make sure to tell them (chan and 3racha especially) to make sure to rest more, and eat well, and take care of themselves emotionally as well as physically; and finally i’d like to tell jeongin how wonderful he is and that he’s doing so much at such a young age (lmao he’s actually eight months older than me but that’s no the point) and to never lose his cute little smile
finally done!! meri, if you actually read all of this, uh thank you????? i hope you now know everything you wanted to know abt me, and probably more than you wanted to know
i’m bad at tagging people, so if you also made it this far and haven’t done some of these tags, choose one, or a couple, or all of them and do them yourself!! just say that i tagged you!!
