Can you do a oneshot on Keith Ask allura to use her quintessence to talk to alfor and melendor to get their permission to marry allura and alfors confused because he's not lance this is after allures revived or something

At first Keith decided to put his feelings aside and acceptdefeat. He didn’t speak up, Lance swooped in, what’s done is done. He should bea supportive friend.

Then Allura died and it ruined him for reasons he couldnever share with the rest of the group, except Shiro who knew damn well whywithout Keith having to utter a single word.

Then, by the grace of the ancients and powers beyond him,she came back and he swore, as a means of comforting himself, that if he evergot a second chance he wouldn’t hesitate.

But…

Dammit he should be a supportive friend.

But…

When they chat and he asks how she’s doing on the farm allAllura says is a very curt “fine.”

And when he asks how Lance is doing on the farm she respondswith a very curt “fine.”

And when he asks how they’re doing, together, she pauses alittle too long before responding with a very quiet “we’re fine.”

“Just fine?”

He really shouldn’t be asking. It’s none of his business.

There’s another long pause and her face betrays her on thevideo call.

“We’re fine. Anyway, I should get going. Lovely talking withyou as always Keith.”

Her express falls flat before the screen goes black and itlights a spark. A spark to do something stupid and impulsive and to hell with beingsupportive.

He goes to get a second opinion, because of course he’sgoing to convince himself she’s not happy to justify what he’s thinking ofdoing. He calls Shiro and they have a long talk. It’s an extremely long talkactually which includes a long groan and a “I fucking knew it�� and “if youdon’t say anything you’ll always wonder” and “just make sure you do thisproperly.”

He packs a bag and hops on a ship and takes off for NewAltea. In a few days he touches down and an elder comes to meet him withconfusion plastered all over his worn wrinkled face. This isn’t the first timeKeith has been to New Altea, everyone is used to him by now, but the visits arescheduled and he’s not due for another couple of weeks. Keith assures the oldman everything is okay and asks for Allura. She’s tending to the garden becauseof course she is.

“K-Keith? What are you doing here?” she asks, shielding hereyes as she peers up at him. He’s never seen her dressed so casually and there’sdirt all over her.

“I needed to see you.” He looms over her, huffing fromhaving sprinted from the ship all the way to the gardens.

“Heavens, is everything all right?”

“I need a favor,” he blurts out, “a big one.”

He crouches down.

“I need you to take me to the astral plane.”

Her eyes widen as her mouth falls open.

“Keith what on-”

“It’s kind of an emergency, I mean, it’s not life or deathbut it’s really important so please.”

Allura blinks and looks around wildly while trying to focusher thoughts.

“Right now?”

“Right now before I lose my nerve.”

She nibbles her bottom lip as her brow furrows, but if Keithneeds her help she’ll never deny him. She orders him to sit and takes his handsin hers, eyes slipping closed. She doesn’t have to give him much instruction.After years of battle together, learning to sync minds not only with each otherbut with Voltron, he knows what he needs to do and he gives himself to hercompletely to take them where he wants to go.

Keith opens his eyes again and they’re surrounded bydarkness and stars and clouds tinged purple and pink. They stand on a blackreflective surface that ripples with each step like water.

“One last favor?”

She doesn’t respond, giving him time to finish his request.

“I need to speak with Alfor.”

Allura lets out a shuddering gasp.

“Why are you doing this?” Her voice sounds frail.

“Do you trust me?”

“Of course I do but…”

“Princess please, I need to do this properly.”

Allura’s mind is reeling. She doesn’t understand, but again,if it’s important to Keith then she’ll oblige. Plus she won’t pass up anopportunity to see her father. She lets go of his hand that she’d be holdingthis entire time and clasps her hands together.

If feels like forever that she calls out to her father inthe beyond, but eventually a bright white sliver of light cuts through thedarkness of the astral plane and it widens as her father and mother come intoview. The portal barely has time to close behind them before Allura is in theirarms.

Keith gives them a moment, before Allura pulls back andannounces his presence.

“Father, you remember Keith don’t you? He would like tospeak to you.”

Alfor and Melanor turn to him expectantly and suddenly hefeels like he might throw up. He takes a deep breath, steadies himself and letsit all out.

“King Alfor I would like to ask for your daughters hand in marriage!”

There’s a collective gasp. Alfor does a double take, Melanorlets out a squeak.

“What?!” Allura screeches.

“I mean…eventually! Like not right now but someday? After wedate a while or something, I dunno we’ll take it slow. Very slow!”

“Wait, wasn’t there another suitor, what about that Lancefellow? Are things not going well daughter?” Alfor’s forehead creases.

“I…w-well we’re fine! It’s fine!” Allura stammers,completely flustered.

“Oh…” Melanor cringes and rolls her eyes.

“What does that mean?!” Allura’s voicecracks.

“I don’t mean to infer anything darling,I just, well a mother knows that when her daughter says it’s fine it’s notfine.”

“It’s complicated!”

“Hmm, then should I be giving thisman my blessing or not? I do agree he’s honorable, but it’s up to you daughter.”Alfor strokes his beard and shrugs.

Keith can see this is getting out ofhand and he’s bungled this royally and he needs to explain himself better andquickly. He takes Allura by the shoulders and turns her to face him.

“Allura look, maybe I’m rushing this.My dad was an old fashioned guy who raised me the same so I thought this wasthe proper way to do things but…I promised myself that if by some miracle youever came back to us I wouldn’t fuck this up again. I let you go. I let you gowithout telling you I’m in love with you. I’m sorry for that. Now that you’rehere I couldn’t just, I had to tell you. You can say no, it’s ok, but I had totell you” he rambles until he’s out of breath. He finally lets his hands dropfrom her.

Allura stands there silently, lipquivering.

“Well dear do you love him too?”Melenor cuts in and is quickly shushed by her husband.

Allura’s face scrunches up and tearsstart to spill as her hands quickly come up to cover her face.

“Quiznack. Fucking quiznackingshit!” she suddenly yells between her blubbering causing another gasp among thegroup.

“Allur-”

“Your timing is shit! Do you knowthat? Absolute shit! Do I love you? Of course I love you! I’ve always loved youbut you didn’t say anything so I figured I should try and move on and now youwant to confess to me? I ought to kick you in your quiznacking bii-bohs!” Sherepeatedly slaps him in his arm.

He lets her hit him for a whilebefore catching her hands and pulling her into a hug.

“I’m sorry Lura, I really am.”

“What am I supposed to do now? Itold him all those things. We have a farm. I have to milk cows and it’s sounpleasant and it sprayed in my face once and I hate it! I’ve really made amess of it!” She sobs into his shoulder.

Keith chuckles and rubs her back.

“We’ll fix it. We’ll have a longtalk, all of us. We’ll figure it out. It’s not going to be easy, but we’lltackle it.”

Alfor and Melanor look on withsoftened expressions.

“Courtship these days is certainlymore complex than I could have ever imagined.” Alfor whispers to his wife.

“Oh come on now you were just asmuch of an awkward bumbling ol’ wizblattle during our early moments together.”

“Pardon, but I was quite charmingand forthcoming with my feelings for you.”

“You fainted after our first ki-”

Alfor quickly clamps a hand over hermouth and Melanor giggles.

“I don’t recall any such events.Anyway, we should probably let them have some time alone.”

“Yes you’re right. So do you givehim your blessing?”

The white sliver of light appearsagain, opening to grant them passage back to the afterlife. Alfor and Melanorlook back at Allura, currently comforted in Keith’s embrace.

“All I’ve ever wanted is for her tobe happy. Any man who can truly give her that will always have my blessing.”

Melanor grins and hugs onto his armas they step through and fade in the soft glow knowing their daughter is goingto be just fine.
