this championship "battle" is so silly bc lando does not have a single "he is HIM" race meanwhile max has like 40 (brazil 2016 my beloved). if anything lando's most famous race is sochi 2021 and uh. well.

I have had a few asks about Lando so I thought I would answer one with my opinion. I am going to answer this under the cut so that anyone who wants to avoid this can do so.

I also know that I have some mutuals and people who follow this blog who like Lando a lot so I apologise. I totally get if you want to unfollow as I think it's really important to curate your online experience <3

In my personal opinion (as a Max supporter) Lando has not done anything this season that would mean he deserves to become world champion. That may sound harsh but he has had the fastest car for most of the season and has not capitalised on that at all. He has achieved his first race wins and good for him but he just hasn't put what I would consider to be a championship winning run together.

He also seems very put out by the fact that Max is fighting him on the limit. This is a championship battle! If Max had driven Lando straight into a barrier that would be different but running someone wide happens, you get a penalty and you move on! I do not like the narrative being pushed out every time they go hard racing, it's as if Max is evil incarnate and Lando is some innocent bystander to what is happening. (A narrative mostly drive by British media and senior figures at Mclaren)

Max on the other hand made the absolute most of the first few races where he had the fastest car and then continued to win races with a slower car. If the Red Bull had even a bit of pace then there wouldn't be a battle at all - look at Austin where the Red Bull was not fastest but had a fighting chance - Max extended his lead!

I'm not saying this is a train wreck season from Lando, he's been on the podium pretty consistently, I am just saying that with the car he has he should have more race victories.

This is probably very mean to say but it essentially took him having a car capable of winning a championship to win his first race 😬. Whereas, as you have pointed out anon, Max has so many amazing races before he even got his hands on a dominant car.

If Max loses the championship it will be down to the RB20 dropping off a cliff rather than Lando putting in a fantastic performance. That is why I hate the way it is being framed as this great underdog story of Lando chasing Max and reducing his lead - there should not be a lead to begin with!! Max is the underdog here make no mistake about that! It's just that he is a massively talented underdog.

Anyway, I am trying not to hate too much because Lando is getting a lot of hate online already but I have always tried to give Lando a lot of leeway in interviews as I think he is quite uncomfortable when answering questions but there have been a few moments this season where he has done or said something I have found very irritating. Himself and Max are still friendly (or at least as far as I know) but that doesn't stop me being annoyed by certain things 😂

Sorry to rant under your ask anon, its just I have had a few questions about Lando so I thought I would put my opinion in one post rather than fill my page up with anti posts <3

But in short - Max is just that guy, the main character, a generational talent - putting in amazing performances season after season.

To anyone who is questioning this: anxiouspineapple99, referred to here as Piña, hasn't done a damn thing wrong. There have been some people who have been making up lies about Piña, and have been poisoning anyone they can against her.

These people are lying. It breaks my heart to see people act so maliciously over nothing, and especially over things that were miscommunications or grievances that have been put to rest with apologies and parting of ways months and months ago.

Yes, drama did happen at one point. But it was dealt with diplomatically, and with maturity on Piña's part. I know what happened.

Since then, these people have been gunning for Piña. They have been perpetuating high-school freshmen level drama because they have nothing else better to do. It's disappointing, and honestly makes me embarrassed for them. I've blocked two of them, and one blocked me after making a hugely hurtful and disappointing post literally wishing death upon others.

That's not acceptable behavior. That's not someone who is telling the truth, either. It's someone who is trying to hurt others on purpose. That's not someone I'd want to be friends with.

If you don't want to associate with someone, then the best way to do that is block them and leave them alone.

Can't really go to the tag of the chapter is all "This is awful, it was all meaningless, these epilogue are the worse" and it's all mostly lov stans that I already disliked, so this isn't helping with that. I simply don't care, I am enjoying this ending for the story, it hasn't disappointed me because I didn't made up expectations for how it should be in my head, I just read the story as it came and I liked it.

I'm not even surprised, I'm not to know some people still complaining.

No matter how this chapter went, there are going to be people who aren't satisfied because they won't let themselves be. They won't let themselves simply be entertained.

Instead, it's complaining, complaining. Look at that! More complaining. Because the story isn't going how they dare demand it to be.

I get it, not seeing your favorites get the ending you expected, I have felt that before. At the end of the day for me though, this was just a story I engaged in.

Toga, understandable. That I get being upset about. I know Ochako said she's "dead" but we never really seen her body and Horikoshi has before had a character "die" but turns out they could be alive (more than once). Edgeshot is literally a bundle of thread... who said that Toga couldn't be alive and Ochako only believes so because she was in and out of consciousness during that time?

As someone who doesn't hate the villains, I can see where some folks are coming from, but at the same time... I highly doubted the villains would get an immediate happy ending. They were still villains who committed crimes. Not all of society was going to be like "oh, we were so wrong about you". Especially, having seen the war happening live. Especially, with seeing how many people were hurt or worse in the crossfire.

And before anyone goes "but the Heroes..." Some of the civilians have expressed their distrust before. Some may still feel that way. Just because we don't see it, doesn't mean it's not possible.

It's just with this fandom, and any really with me, that I have learned that not everyone will be satisfied and that's a them problem. The solution for me when the restart-up of the Izuku bashing was unfollowing and blocking folks.

I really hope to not sound rude or a bit hypocritical but I'm not really down to change the formatting of my posts? I have been tagging almost everything I post about TOTK with "zelda" and "totk" which are like, very mute-able. The only clip I ever posted without tags was just a shot of some horses in an area you could also just find in BOTW that was mostly grass, and believe me aside from the UI changes I combed it very closely to make sure I wasn't showing off something too crazy.

I've also been going out of my way to keep shared footage mostly to stuff that you can find relatively early on if you follow the pretty obvious directions the game points you toward at the start of it. Maybe I'm just desensitized with how much I've played already but I was under the impression that a lot of the stuff I've shown is realllyyy basic save for a couple things that I made sure to put later in my clip compilations so anyone who didn't want to see ANYTHING about the game from my playthrough would have time to scroll past.

I understand that just tagging isn't going to cover all scenarios where someone could see something they don't want to and I'm sympathetic, I've had certain armor type discoveries spoiled for me and I was a bit frustrated at that so it may sound hypocritical for me to defend my own posting, but the difference there is that the stuff I saw that frustrated me was completely untagged, not even with general tags for the game so I couldn't even have avoided it if I wanted to. I at the very least am giving people the same essential courtesies I expect when posting about a new game.

If that hasn't been enough for y'all specifically and you saw more than you wanted to, I am sorry and I assure you I really have no plans to go too crazy with clip posting or anything on here, a vast majority of my experience will be contained to YouTube content for a long while, but also if my current style is too much then of course no hard feelings if you need to unfollow until you've played sufficiently for yourself. Also, if it's any consolation, I can assure you that there are like thousands of discoveries in this game that are 20x cooler than anything I have shared outside of my VODs.

MID-MONTH PRE-HOLIDAY MOD POST!

As we are officially at the halfway point (ish!) of December, I wanted to post about a few important things to keep in mind through the rest of the month. Please read this post thoroughly and (maybe even consider giving it a like, though it's not a requirement or being monitored), so we know that everyone is paying attention and on the same page! xx

First announcement, the group will be lowly moderated from December 22nd through December 27th. I will return to full mod status on December 28th. We will not be doing acceptances during this period, and although I will log in to handle things like starter notices, unfollows, answering asks, etc. you likely will not see a lot of promo posts or extra stuff -- it's okay, please don't panic!

The activity check schedule will remain as posted about. Unfollows for the current check will be posted on Monday at 11PM. Past that, the schedule is as follows:

December 20th -- any writer that has not had a presence on dash at all since December 13th will be placed on check and face removals on December 23rd if they do not contact main or post.

January 3rd -- any character that has not posted since December 20th (two weeks), will be placed on check and unfollowed on January 6th if they do not post or contact main.

January 10th -- again, a lenient one. we will simply ask that all characters post activity during the week; unfollows will be on January 13th for anyone who does not or hasn't contacted main.

After this, we expect to return to normal, business-as-usual activity by January 17th. I do not expect activity rules to change, but if anything does, you will be informed of that before the check, I promise. Basic rule of thumb: be able to handle two different threads (preferably with two different writers, to avoid bubbling) per week on each character you play, and you're golden.

Some more 'in character' things that need to be addressed or kept in mind moving through the holiday season:

MARKET -- the market is up and running and will be through the 21st. please use the OOC post to generate some fun threads and ideas! reach out to message others as you are commenting, post open starters, just have a good time.

GIFT EXCHANGE -- we will be taking gift submissions through the end of the day on the 18th! everyone is welcome to participate, if you have any questions, please let me know. due to time constraints, I will not accept late submissions.

SEASONAL FUN -- don't forget we have tons of fun seasonal ideas for you to enjoy on our seasonal master list! it's never too late to start things, and some of these ideas can continue into January and beyond, too. if there is interest, I am happy to adjust the post after the holidays, as well.

NYE PARTY & POLAR PLUNGE -- we're not there yet, but we do have New Year's Eve & New Year's Day events happening in town, don't forget! you're more than welcome to start generating ideas there, but please keep threads limited to the event duration.

CHRISTMAS IN GENERAL -- if you want to post gifts for the holiday, please feel free to do so! we just ask that it's done in a way that dash isn't completely spammed out (if you have 10 friends, 1 spouse and 1 sibling, do 1 post including all 10 friends, for example, save the individual posts for the special gifts). I also want to say: gifts are not required, please don't feel pressured, even if you receive some yourself! if you do want to do something, no one is going to be mad at you for posting a pretty photo of red velvet fudge and tagging your friends and saying you baked, either, trust me.

During the holiday season, I just want to remind everyone to be kind. To each other, to us as admins, in character (silly as that sounds), just spread love. Like people's tasks and socials, participate in their opens, reach out when someone asks for plots and threads, make it a warm, happy little community. Some people may only be able to log in once or twice a week right now, others might have extra time on their hands and be around a ton. As long as we are all doing our best to keep our dash a friendly, inclusive place where people want to spend their holidays, that is what matters most. xx

Ahhh thank you!! I'm so glad you like her - she is definitely a very reluctant inquisitor so a lot of her opinions on all the companions are varied but I will try to explain! (also just before anyone unfollows me or sends me hate - these are Asma's opinions and not my own lmao)

Solas: They do not get along at all. I think from the very first moment Solas asked her about being Dalish back at Haven she had an immediate dislike of him and It only goes downhill from there. She hates people who act like they know more than her, especially about her own culture. Definitely the lowest approval Solas you can feasibly get. If Asma had the strength in Trespasser she would've used her final moments to slap box him.

Cole: He freaks her out. He pops up and reads her thoughts to her and she pushes him out of the room. If there is one thing that the Inquisition hasn't taken from her it's the privacy of her own mind, so when Cole shows up and suddenly can feel her emotions she is not happy at all. Towards the end of the game, there is some begrudging acceptance, but she still prefers him far away from her.

Leliana: Asma views both Cassandra and Leliana as the major reason why she is stuck there as the Herald of Andraste and dislikes Leliana, especially because she believes that it is the Maker's doing. Asma feels as if Leliana is almost projecting onto her, she also doesn't care for Leliana's more progressive and accepting view of Andrastianism, she just wants elves to be left alone. Definitely would chop off her left foot before considering her as Divine.

Josephine: On the fence in the beginning, Asma has had very bad experiences with nobility in the past and doesn't want a repeat, but she can't bring herself to hate Josephine. They become friends and Josephine looks out for her. It's a very sisterly dynamic imo. Plus they both love to gang up on Cullen at the war table and with Ashura (Asma's brother) getting involved with Josie romantically I think they do occasional double dates together.

Sera: They're friends! No, they don't agree on a lot but Asma doesn't take it out on her, if there is anyone in the Inquisition that sees her as a person and not a figurehead - it's Sera. Asma finds being in her company very refreshing and humanizing and sometimes Sera is able to pull her into doing mischief.

Iron Bull: Oddly enough they get along great. Asma doesn't drink so it's usually just her watching Bull and the Chargers fall into a drunken stupor whenever they hang out - I think they have similar views on a lot of things and Asma is genuinely fascinated by the Qunari and the Qun. She's from the Western Approach so she hasn't much experience with it.

Blackwall: Asma doesn't really think about Blackwall enough to have an opinion on him.

Dorian: If frenemies existed in Thedas I think they would take the top spot, though the friend part is doing a lot of heavy lifting. If there is one place Asma hates more than Orlais, It's Tevinter. And she is shallow enough to hate someone just for being from Tevinter, so it doesn't help when Dorian makes condescending excuses for it. The only reason they have not fought in the streets is because of Cullen and that's it. She rearranged all of his books from alphabetized to by color when he was away and then acted like nothing changed when questioned. Bad girls' club but in Thedas.

Vivienne: Platonic Soulmates for sure. Asma wouldn't have been able to rise to power without Vivienne at her side, she owes so much of her success as inquisitor to Vivienne and knows it. Asma held a very negative opinion of Circle Mages for most of her life but Vivienne definitely changed her mind. They have a lot of shared interests and hold the same views on Magic, plus they also love looking fashionable and using that as a weapon.

Cassandra: Similar to Leliana but she spends so much of her time around Cassandra out in the field it helps Asma understand her better, I wouldn't say they become best of friends but they are friendly with each other. Asma will also excuse certain behaviors if she finds the person attractive so there's that too.

Varric: I think most of their dynamic is limited to "If you write me in one of your books, you better make me hot or I will kill you" and I think that is fine. She also bribes him to hear more about Cullen in Kirkwall. A win honestly.

If I am missing somebody I apologize but yeah I love my little angry elf. She definitely doesn't have controversial opinions at all

Hi nonny!! I told myself I wasn't going to answer any of these, but I really appreciate your kind tone and am happy to address this again for you!

I won't go into a list of specific reasons why here. I do enjoy a good bit of piece-by-piece analysis a LOT but--frankly, picking apart another ship in a public zone like this is not what I want to exemplify on my blog, at all. It's not the kind of environment I'd like to create or discourse I'd like to foster. If those conversations are to be had at all--which, let's face it, they're probably not--they're to be had one on one, with a promise of good faith and open-mindedness between participants.

So to answer your question, I'll give a little more info, but still in generalities.

First and foremost, it's the simple fact that their dynamic, as portrayed in HBS, didn't spark for me! If y'all know me, you know that there is a very specific ship dynamic that I tend to latch onto, and this repeats ad infinitum across fandoms. I just wasn't compelled by the material, which is fine! More power to you if you were, for sure.

That loops into the second reason I'll give: yes, I did find the writing of HBS to be lackluster in many aspects, including the relationship between Aloy and Seyka. The sloppy writing absolutely influenced the way I viewed/reacted to Aloy and Seyka as a ship. To me, it did feel rushed and very much removed from the character and pacing of the series we've known for years. And that was not a boon for connecting with the presented narrative, the same way I began to feel disconnected from HFW. Once again, though, totally subjective and valid if it did hit for you!

I wanted to like Seyka so much more than I did. (This is--as I've shared other posts before--commentary on the writer's room character work, not on Seyka.) I wanted her to oust Alva as my favorite Quen babygirl (A HARD CHALLENGE, I'll admit). I wanted to be compelled by her, and by her dynamic with Aloy. She didn't, and I wasn't. And that's not an attack on Seyka herself, or on folks who enjoyed her. That's my own peeve with the writing and the way she was presented both in the narrative and in the HBS marketing.

If I can also use your ask to be a little vulnerable, nonny? It's been a hard six weeks. I feel like the posts I've put up and the opinions I've offered with regards to this have been nothing less than respectful and pleasant and, in a lot of cases, that grace hasn't been returned. From being blocked/unfollowed/vagued by other Horizon wlw shippers with whom I've built a rapport over the years (which of COURSE it's anyone's right to curate their feeds--still stings on the other side, in this situation especially)--to being directly compared to the Actual Homophobes for supporting the idea of romance options in game three (the same Actual Homophobes sending death and other threats directly to my inboxes)--it's an unfortunate state. I'm doing my best to be positive for the whole fandom, but some days it's harder than others.

In any case--I'll say, contradictorily--there is a Seyloy idea I've been working on, in attempts to connect more with them and sublimate my quibbles with what was presented in canon. So I hope any Seyloy enjoyers who might read it eventually (and this!) will take it in good faith when it's finished, as it's being written in nothing but good faith!

that's totally fair. this is ofc very controversial, but as a lesbian who supports transmascs who openly live as gay men post-transition and face what gay men face from there on out and thus gain a lot from having gay men-specific spaces, i would support the same for transfem nonbinary ppl and trans women. transfems can't be homosexual lesbians in the technical sense, but they can live lesbian-typical lives and if lesbian, or at least transbian, makes sense for their lived experiences then i personally don't mind it.

i think some lesbian spaces can be female homosexual-exclusive. i think some gay men spaces can be male homosexual-exclusive. i also think that there can be bigger spaces where anyone who experiences consistent gay men experiences from living socially as a gay man, and anyone who experiences consistent lesbian experiences from living socially as a lesbian woman, could seek out people with parallel experiences. i don't believe lesbians love feminine souls or whatevs. i believe that someone can live as a woman and/or be female, and be only attracted to people who live as women and/or are female. so technically be bisexual, but also exclusively date ppl who live as women and/or were born female. to me it's about tangible experience and non-homosexuals being respectful and staying in their lane when needed. they don't understand all of our experiences, but they have immigrated into our lived experiences and now face what we face from strangers when they go out with their gf and are seen as wlw and when they refuse a man saying they're not into men but still get harassed into trying dick. not every trans person is able to ever reach the point of actually living lesbian/gay experiences, many don't pass and should be mindful of that. but many also do. and not the type that get their pics shared around on radblr who obviously don't pass -- which as a side note i also don't like, appearance-shaming and mocking dysphoric people will never help the radfem movement. but yeah, more trans ppl than you think pass as the opposite sex. and the average person hasn't seen the amount of trans ppl we in spaces high in trans people have seen, so the average person will assume someone's sex/agab and treat them accordingly if they have the right secondary sex characteristics. that means technically heterosexual people can face regular homophobia/lesbophobia and they deserve support too, they deserve community. this doesn't mean they get to demand ALL of our communities, but to me, as a detrans lesbian, i don't mind non-misogynistic, homosexual-respecting transbians the same way i don't mind non-homophobic trans gay men. there are a lot of creeps and bigots, but not all of them are. i'd welcome a radfem-friendly transbian anytime at my dyke cafe meetups 👍 and yeah, if she shows male-typical misogyny she's 100% gonna get the boot, but honestly i'm too curious to know what the experience of immigrating into lesbianism is for a male person to refuse. and i care about everyone affected by lesbophobia. i still want my female-only meetups too, and it's a case-by-case basis thing, but i wouldn't say that transbians existing and labelling their experiences that way is inherently evil or that transfem-inclusive lesbian spaces are bringing great shame to dykes everywhere or whatever. it's okay to agree to disagree with me, though. my spicy takes sometimes r too spicy >:]

It's not about not accepting that Taylor might change ideas. For me the problem is that nothing or very little of her behaviour this year shows being mature, being a grown up who's gone through much and learnt much. So many available mistakes that being heartbroken don't justify. At her age she cannot react like when she was 20. Where's the growing? Why should she be judged any different from the way we judge real life people? Also the mass unfollowing, it doesn't matter if she inspired it or delayed it, shows that following anyone in the celebrity environment means nothing at all, it's all for a show, they do it just to please friends and acquaintances. For that reason is so easy to unfollow. There's no real friendship behind. Words like friendship and love mean nothing in that world, easily used and abused. I say this as someone who hasn't unfollowed ex wives and ex husbands of friends of mine when they broke up because they were not bad people and the responsibility for break ups is often shared. Adult people know it and understand it and they don't reject people simply because they're not with someone they love anymore. It's all so fake. I could never suddenly stop caring or saying hallo to someone I liked just because his/her relationship with a friend of mine had ended badly. Kit here, and im going to answer this as if it was directed only at me. Ashe feels similarly, and the other two have zero idea what any of this means.

I don't think I am? Most radqueers in system spaces I see paired with transID stuff, which I am VERY uncomfortable with. I don't go in radqueer spaces and I don't know enough about them to even begin to know if I'd classify as one or could relate to it in any meaningful way. I block transID and radqueer accounts (because they are paired together so often) when they show up in tags because of my own discomfort. Radqueer is one of those identities I see around that I've had little interest in getting myself wrapped up in discourse wise.

I have a very complex relationship with my own gender, sexuality, and overall identity, but it's not something that is ever going to affect anyone else outside of me. This does influence how I treat others who seem to define themselves in good faith. I think from what I remember seeing radqueers are known for being accepting of good faith labels, but to a radical degree. While I am all about letting people express themselves how they want, as it rarely affects anyone else, I wouldn't say I'm radical. I am very critical of plenty of things in online spaces and critical of a lot of labels people use. I am a complex individual with complex opinions that are always changing the older I get.

I don't know what your experiences are, but I've always strived to be an accepting and welcoming individual. Doesn't mean I agree with everyone I interact with, but ideally, no one should view me as unsafe. Anti endos may, but that's only because we are a target to their hate. People I speak to online are strangers, my followers are wonderful but still strangers. I am by default polite and civil with strangers. That's just how I do things. Don't assume it means I'm something specific because of it.

Most of these current day communities and discourses I know ZERO about. General queer, system, and kin stuff is kinda my spoon limit for getting involved with online. My opinions and stances are complex. It's like politics. I'm not going to agree with everything or be the poster board child for either side. There's always complexities and nuances that can make someone not belong to either side or fit into a community. I've found that to be my lot in most things.

I'm furry, queer, plural, endo safe, daemian, and all together, I suppose, alterhuman. I don't use other labels unless it's to explain specifics, like my sexuality.
