What's The Norepang Project?

The Norepang Project is an experimental plataform that aims to produce K-Pop related content. However, TNP is not focused on posting the most news about the

Hallyu

, nor curiosities corcerning idols and companies

even though I am always/watching/listening to them lol

What kind of contents will you find in TNP then?

Lyrics, songs, albums, concerts, comebacks, mvs (basically all the content produced by the companies) critics and analysis.

Is it good or not? And why? What is the message this song is trying to convey? What do this color palette in the MV even mean? What is this album about?

Suggestions and playlist of less well know artists, songs and/or MVs. 

Small throwback pieces about K-pop’s history, as well as of some specific "older" groups and singers. 

How did K-Pop come be what it is today? What songs helped redefine the music industry? Other nice historical stuff like that.

Why is K-Pop so popular nowadays? Why being a stan might be good to our emotional lives? What can K-Pop reveal about our contemporary sentimentality?

What does Norepang mean anyway?

Norepang, as many of you probably know, is one possible romanization of the korean word 노래방. Despite this word usually having the meaning of karaoke, I am aiming to a more literal translation: “Room of songs”. A place safe place for everyone to talk, love and live K-Pop. 

Who am I?

Imma 22y/o brasilizian historian.  Actually, I will only gratuate in July. That is, if the Covid-19 allows it Furthermore, I am preparing for a masters in psychology, where I will study KPOP and its correlation to present-day sensibility.

Why did I start TNP?

K-Pop is currently my main source of strength and inspiration, both in my personal and professional lifes.  It's the path that is teaching me not be ashamed of myself or of what I like. Futhermore, due to the fact that these experiences were directly correlated to my academic researches (I spent the past four years focused on Mass Culture’s Aesthethics), I began to study K-Pop’s main characteristics and its social and cultural consequences. As a result, it is only natural that I began to desire to share what I have learnt thus far.

We are all in this together

Even though I started this alone it would be wonderful if we could built it together!
