I think TMS is really fun, and the character designs are cool! So I wanted to put more stuff out there for it!

Never posted her publicly, but I made a TMS#FE OC for a sequel story I was rotating in my brain. More info on her under the cut!

-American (the setting of the story happens in New York City)

-Real name is Julie, but is mainly called by her nickname.

-A big music buff. Photographer and secondary writer for the music blog, Musicality Cover

-She and her friends Cody, and Mike are writing a blog about the music scene in general and especially the great international music bash (festival) that Fortuna is a part of.

-July apparently used to be in choirs as a child but an accident made it impossible for her to sing. -Because of that she doesn’t have a mirage.

-Favorite music genre: Lover of all music that weaves a story in the audience’s heart and mind.

TMS AU where the Engage Royals are Modern Day Performers and the Emblems are their Mirage Partners.

(Yunaka and Seadall are there too since A: we need 12 humans for the 12 Emblems, and B: they’re basically Micaiah and Corrin’s unofficial partners anyway)

The best au, we all know they would all rock the idol world! I say Fogado is probably the best idol out of all of them. And we know Engage are just performas in engage 🤣

Maybe Itsuki and Tsubasa can help them too after their ending, they have alot of experience you know! 🤣

If i was intsys I would have started a long and convoluted background storyline about the TMS characters and the Summoner (and Fáfnir, but that’s just my hc) being from Earth and the difficulties of them trying to settle in a medieval world. but that’s just me. maybe I love isekai stories too much but feh is an isekai if you think about it

TMS #FE was a crossover between Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem announced as a hail Mary attempt to save the Wii U - that is to say, it was announced way too early with a teaser trailer that implied it'd be much closer to Fire Emblem than what we got.

And what we got was an idol themed, turn based RPG, where the Fire Emblem elements was basically "what if the cast of Fire Emblem were like, Personas that the idol characters summon".

But if you can look past it being a complete oddball choice, if you can look past it being almost cringe-inducingly earnest about being an idolge... it's actually a really good game, okay?

Anyway, because it's an idol game, it has insert songs that play as big cutscenes in the game. It's kinda incredible, the English localization even went to the effort of making the translated lyrics singable to the original melody. Such "translyrics" take a lot of extra work, and aren't standard, so appreciate it!

The first of such we see is Reincarnation, performed by the character Kiara Kurono. This makes sense, as not only is Kiara the spitting image of a perfect, ideal idol, but the song is a bit of a reference to the SMT series itself - Shin Megami Tensei, New Reincarnation of the Goddess.

But really, it's mostly the first part. Y'see, one of the main characters of the game is Tsubasa Oribe. And she wants to become an idol.

Being a very sunny, almost stereotypical idolge, Tsubasa's inexperienced, but she's driven, she's cheerful, and she has an infectious enthusiasm that means you can't help but wanna see her win. She'd actually make a really good idol, with some polish...

But most importantly, her idol, the idol who inspires her, is Kiara.

So for the Encore remake of TMS #FE, on the Switch, they added some small new features. One of them being a Tsubasa cover of Reincarnation.

And what's great about this cover is that Tsubasa's VA actually isn't a good fit for Reincarnation. It's sung in the same key, rather than being lowered to her range, and she audibly struggles on the high notes.

But remember, in terms of idol archetypes, Tsubasa is inexperienced and charismatic in a way that makes you believe in her. And she's singing her idol's song, singing her fucking heart out.

The flaws only make the song better.
