Yeah it’s killing me to not know that as well, I do have a bit of a personal headcanon tho. Ya see I never really liked the physical attraction or the he can fix him angles much at all. I’m kinda attached to the idea that Martin was drawn to the whole well put together, serious, stable, logical persona Jon brought to his work in the first few seasons.

We know Martin was feeling badly about lying on his resume and I just get the sense that he was craving that kind of stability in his life. And in that one on one conversation they had where Jon admitted he is kind of freaked out by the statements and the weirdness of the Archives I love the idea that that little bit of humanity got Martin way more invested with whatever’s up with this weird guy who seems so different from him.

Haha sorry didn’t mean to ramble, this is just my perspective on it, needed to get it out in writing once I started thinking about it!

You know how the fandom collectively just assumes Martin finds Jon physically attractive, and that that's why he has a crush on him in the first few seasons? I'm wondering now if Jonny (writer) had a different idea for why he believes Martin would have had a crush on Jon early on. Like, it could be the "secretly-soft algeations" that some tma fic writers tend to fall back on. Or it could be something completely different. I just really wanna knowwww!!!!!!!!!

if i say something personal and then a tme person contradicts me, suddenly i have to justify my own statements and experiences and there is no answer that will win, because i have much less to weaponize than they do. i will not weaponize tma intersex people like you will tme intersex people. i will not use the atrocities against transfemmes of color as a talking point even though it's the only thing you'll listen to because you're afraid that people will think you're racist if you don't care.
