imagining the level of horror for the dead as well if there IS some sort of afterlife where they can see what took over their bodies, Sasha watching as all of her coworkers and friends treat Not!Sasha as though that were her and being helpless

and Elias (assuming he died when Jonah replaced him in his body and isn’t being forced to watch through Jonah’s eyes as he is piloted around helplessly) having to watch as people purposefully refuse to acknowledge the man they think he was and replacing that with who they know now, despite how dissimilar the two really were

on another note, I think on some level the original Elias (the one whose statement we hear later in season five) and Tim would have gotten along a least a little

i think the horror in Elias’ body being stolen isn’t just the fact that it’s stolen, but the fact that nobody cares. It’s feels like a step-up from the NotThem because at least with the NotThem everyone except one has the privilege of forgetting the real person- not with Elias, though. no. Everyone knew, including the audience, and nobody bothers to refer to Jonah as his real name. Instead of unknowingly forgetting, they’re doing so willingly.

Peter acknowledged the fact that Jonah steals bodies, he even knew him when he was James Wright, and still verbalised his choice to call him Elias. Gertrude knew, and possibly knew the actual Elias too, and still spat out the name Elias right before she died like it’s an insult. The audience is well aware, and yet it’s jonelias, not jonjonah. when it’s not lonelyeyes it’s peterelias, not peterjonah. Both in and out of the universe, the original Elias is gone.

tma - the shitty 'it's all made up' theory

jon is actually an english teacher in a high school. almost all the characters are teachers at said high school. one of the students decided to write a fanfiction about Putting Him Through The Horrors because they didn't like their english teacher. meanwhile, the class is also trying to get him and mr blackwood to be in the same room as each other more often because they're so clearly gay for each other.

martin is a librarian. tim is the cool history teacher with an interest in architecture

ms james taught history, but left the school only to be replaced by a different ms james.
