Kory of course rolled her eyes hard when he told her his plans, but once he told her that it could be fun, that they could relive his college years, she agreed easily. She never wanted to miss an opportunity to learn about Dick. So Catwoman and Emo Bruce it was.

I just couldn't let go of the idea of exploring Rachel's recovery and looking at the situation through the eyes of people closest to her. I can't promise the accuracy of some medical stuff but I do hope this fic will hit emotionally the way I want it to hit.

SPOOKY SEASON IS HERE!!!! I am soooooo excited to share this fic with you. I was going to post it tomorrow but screw this, it's October 1st, it's Halloween time!!! Shout out to the Queens @ambeauty and @escapism-through-imagination for coming up with such a brilliant challenge, all things spooky and creepy and scary fit so well in tone with Titans that it was nothing but delight diving deeper into it. I'm literally bouncing on my feet like a little kid as I'm posting this because this has to be my favorite idea I've had recently. It's dark, it's unsettling and heavy, a rollercoaster of dread and fear and pain. This concept has been knocking around in my head for maybe a month or two and when Titanstober was announced, I immediately knew it would be perfect for it. I took inspiration from a few different shows that I've seen touched on this theme of medical torture and unethical procedures, like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The 100, The Last of Us, maybe you'll be able to spot some references! But one warning before you dive in: I tried not to be too graphic but there are things that might be a trigger. So if you don't feel okay with reading about invasive medical procedures that aren't comfortable and painless even in 100% safe and approved conditions, feel free to skip this one.

I haven't posted a fic sneak peek on here in so long and today, I thought, "ah what the hell, let's throw it out there". So here it is! I couldn't come up with any idea for the week 3 theme of Titanstober2023, which is a college based fic, so I'm going in a different direction. Part 2 of my week one fic I am flesh, bones... I am skin, soul... coming sometime next week! It's time for a recovery chapter!

Dick is beyond relieved to see the medical team already waiting for them on full alert outside the entrance to S.T.A.R. Labs. That relief, however, dissipates when he feels Rachel's arms tighten around his neck, clinging to him with a strength he wouldn't expect from someone so exhausted. "Everything will be okay, baby girl," he whispers in her ear as he carefully places her on the stretcher, trying to ignore the way his heart is breaking with each cry of pain that escapes her mouth. He manages to briefly brush his trembling hand over her cheek before the doctors push the stretcher towards the entrance and break into a run. He keeps up with them. Kory is next to him, the boys not far behind. Dick clings to the stretcher, one of his hands on one of Rachel's, determined not to leave her side, even though in the back of his mind he already knows it won't be possible to stay. He knows the procedures, knows what it all looks like. Eventually they'll reach a door he won't be able to cross with her. "Everything's gonna be fine, sweetheart," he repeats as he leans over her, a reassuring smile on his lips. But when he looks into her eyes, he freezes. He had never seen her this terrified. Never seen such horror in her eyes as when she realized they're taking her and he has to stay. She can hear what the doctors are saying among themselves, and so does he; he won't be able to go with her any further, at least not now. Despite her exhaustion, she grasps onto his hand with such force she almost crushes all his bones. "Dick, please... don't... I don't want…" Dick looks up at one of the doctors, pleading with desperate eyes, but the woman only shakes her head with a sad frown. "I'm sorry. We'll be as quick as we can. You'll be with her soon."

Chapter one was an emotional sledgehammer and chapter 2 is no different. This time - from multiple povs. I can't wait to share it with you!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I'M BACK! The hiatus is over, though I do admit that a week ago I thought I would never pick this fic up again. My heart wasn't in it anymore. But you know that feeling when you read something so amazing, especially if it's written by a friend, that no matter how low you feel it will drag you right back to the surface and help you emotionally reconnect to the thing you were disconnected from? This happened to me. As soon as I finished reading I went back to work.

So I offer this chapter as a thank you to @ambeauty and the last chapter of OTR. Literally brought me back from the dead. I know how you love these two together so I hope you'll enjoy it!
