Mao didn’t actually have any character development until the anon who wrote Tisa started showing up in my inbox. She was literally just a blank slate until that point, as I had nothing beyond what I created. It’s what helped move me towards developing Mao as a character, and giving her an identity beyond “I want to know the truth”.

Honestly, at first when I created her, I wanted to see what having a Genshin Verse for Melanie would be. However, I axed most of those verses except for Mao (and the princess verse), instead spinning her off into her own character so I could do more with her... but then again, I’m not really in the Genshin RPC so there’s little I can do.
