Hey! I was wondering, based on the fact Talia name wise with spelling and shortening is an even bigger mess than Mischa/Misha what you'd recommend for someone who wants to write their fics to try and best represent the correct spellings? What do you personally recommend for this when it's so wrong to start with?

that's a really good question!! and to be completely honest, i have a more laid back approach to talia's name: it's so wrong to the point where i can't even blame russifiaction, because that's not it, her name is just very funny. "talia" doesn't invoke any rage in me, i think it's absolutely OK to spell it that way, while my eye does start to twich whenever i see "mischa". the name natalia itself isn't wrong at all, there also are variants natalya and natalka that are wonderful (but i will shriek if i see natasha)

the shortened form? i sometimes spell it as talya (таля instead of талія), which makes for a softer sound, and is absolutely a plausible form of her name. and it doesn't mean waist! hurray!

the middle name though... i'm not even sure what it's supposed to be and how it's spelled canonically (muruska? murushka? there was a production in which they said it as BABUSHKA), so my go to for this is spelling it as murashka. just my headcanon, not an agenda i'm looking to push onto everyone, but i think it sounds cool: it means little ant, so it can work as a nickname or a double surname.

4. How easy is it to earn their trust?

Harder than for the average person, but not that outrageously hard for Fatui standards. She has a healthy wariness when it comes to anyone not from her people, exacerbated by the fact that she tended to be viewed as a bit of a distant weirdo even before she enrolled. Still, she gets along decently well with her fellow soldiers and has a steady friend group - and you can earn her trust given enough time or similar mindsets.

8. What were they told to stop/start doing most often as a child?

Oh how her mother would have loved for her to start being more considerate of people! "Natalya, don't say that." "Natalya, go apologize." Day after day. To her credit, she did eventually get better at picking her words... But it took longer than her family would have liked.

Meanwhile, it'd have been nice if she stopped testing everything that came to her mind right at home. An inquisitive mind is a gift, and the reason why she eventually made it to the Akademiya, but a house is fragile, and hard to keep clean. It's great to question things, but it's also great to not leave odd mixtures and weird smells all over the house!

29. Do they usually live up to their own ideals?

Yes, she does. She aims to be a useful asset to her Archon, and for her research to push her comrades forward. Otherwise, she isn't particularly ambitious - but considering that she's personally assisting a Harbinger, I would say she's more than living up to her ideals of loyalty and progress.

38. What memory do they revisit the most often?

If she ever starts questioning herself or her actions, she'll think back to the time she witnessed the Tsaritsa address her people when she was much younger. Watching her Archon talk of her goals, of her promises to her people, it filled her with admiration and determination both and it's why she eventually enrolled to serve her. To this day she's wholly loyal to her and everything she does is for her.

The amount of alters other alters have added to our list. I mean it's kind of embarrassing because we make picrews for all of them. Like i know that is like "faker" behaviour. But it does help us feel organized. Even if they are just fragments only full of one task or emotion. Or subsystem parts. Or more elaborated alters.

We know that we have definitely split a lot recently. We have been hospitalized for body-medical issues, and for psychosis. We've been in a PHP & IOP. We made friends who then just ghosted us leaving us w/ no one IRL. we haven't heard from two of our closest friends in like months and we worry they might be dead. We've had multiple appliances break in our house along with car trouble. Our psychologically abusive grandmother stayed with us and then we've had to help her move. Which also included a lot of triggers. We've been having suicidal parts activated bad. Our parents have been fighting even more than normal. We've been hallucinating bad and struggling a lot w/ ADLs as well as doing enjoyable activities. Our nutrition and sleep and exercise have been shit. Our chronic illnesses have been flaring. And our CFS has been bad.

I mean like how could we not be splitting? It's been in multiple sections of our system making us switch between sections a lot which makes amnesia really bad.

We've been so emotionally stressed while still playing therapist and middlemen w/ parents

flashbacks have been so bad along with nightmares

so yeah we've been increasing our alter head count like crazy.

And Luke has been adding older parts in his section of our system which i've never met.

I just want to not feel like i'm constantly shifting and standing on unstable ground

And TBH I miss PHP & IOP. At least that got me out of the house and added structure. As well as i thought i had made friends.

But nope

Vortalis: when he talks about only sending enemies after Holland, he includes Talya in that list.

Talya: she knew the twins distantly when they first came to London. They were very young then, about eight or nine, and she used to toss them some spare coins or scraps when walking home after work like they were kittens.

They mourned as much as they knew how to when she stopped showing up.

To be fair, Mysaria is meant to have spies and I get why the writers would see her as an "obvious" choice but you are right that anyone with 2 cents would understand that it probably has more to do with Alicent.

Like.... I'm not opposed to the idea full stop. But side characters are important and should be treated that way. I want to know what was Talya's motivations, did Mysaria have dirt on her, what are her thoughts on Alicent, Rhaenyra, Mysaria, and this entire situation, was this only meant to be a one time thing and it spiralled out of control?

Honestly if I had to pick either Talya or Dyana to be involved in some way in Blood & Cheese I would pick the former, because at least with her IMO there's less potential for the writers to do something really awful with it. There's also the fact that Talya is a grown woman who understands the dangers of her role, whereas Dyana is traumatised and vulnerable. This poor girl has no one 100% looking out for her best interest alone.

Wow. Great insight. Yes, I would pick Talya too over Dyana. Because as the audience we have history with her. She was there when Aemond's eye was gouged out. She seemed on good terms with Alicent as her maidservant as well.

Her 'betraying' the family by working for Mysaria and/or having a role to play in B+C would add so many layers of complexity. Because again, the question is, what does Mysaria have on her? What does she have against the Greens? Is there something in her past that drove her to choose Mysaria's side or take up her cause?

I have questions. Unfortunately, Talya will not be returning and so we will never know.

However, I'm giving the writers the benefit of the doubt. They could end up making Dyana's role in season 2 sensible and the outcome a tragedy of sorts.

Honestly i wish they showed alicentfirst seeing the eye slash

what if…………… aegon immediately standing with aemond in ep. 8 is part of what he interpretes as “trying so hard”

alicent tells him in ep. 7 “that was nothing compared to the abuse your brother suffered while you were drowning in your cups, you fool.” and basically questions why aegon wasn’t there to protect his little brother

so apart from aegon’s love for chaos and causing trouble, there must have been a part of him who knew he had to stand with his brother during the toast

because i know we don’t see it, but i do not think aegon shrugged off aemond’s loss of eye. not necessarily because he personally felt guilty for it (though he might have), but it must have been a shocking sight to see aegon with a stitch that big on his face, his eye gone completely, him in pain, his mother terrified, the fear of infection and death. aegon can be a complete POS but i don’t think he just went “lol shit happens” and didn’t mind it 

also on the same note:

in this picture we see another instance of helaena letting someone touch her. talya has a hand around her in comfort and in her other hand there’s a piece of cloth with blood on it, indicative of talya trying to probably help alicent or the maester clean all the blood from aemond’s face because it wasn’t just the eye, aemond is bleeding from both his nose and his mouth and appears to have other scraps and bruises from being put on the ground and punched & kicked

and on the same note, i cannot imagine alicent’s face as her son was brought in the room blood rushing down his face, eye slashes as they were rushing to get the maester to him as soon as possible. 

this was all around such a traumatic incident for all of them so i’m sure that while aegon seemed still standing there next to his sister and brother, he didn’t take it lightly. and i think the more time passed, the more he processed how f’ed up everything was

14. What animal do they fear most?

For the longest time it was none of them... Then she visited Fontaine. Since she doesn't have a Vision, only a Delusion, she can't dive in the inland sea and is more vulnerable against Fontemer Aberrants than she'd like to admit. She's trained in combat against people, not wild animals that have elemental shields for some reason and that can hide and strike from underwater. That is to say...

She does not like Sternshield Crabs. She really doesn't like them.

16. What makes their stomach turn?

No worst feeling for her than being out of her depth and feeling like she can't control anything about her situation. 99% of the time she'll find ways to go about things, the smallest thing she sees she can focus on, and that'll be enough sense of control for her - she can stay fairly composed in even dire situations so long as she can find that one thread to cling to. The remaining 1%, where she feels completely helpless, that's where she flips.

She's also not the biggest fan of shrimp, I guess.

30. Who do they most regret meeting?

Dottore... Just kidding. Her experience working under him was valuable and she never once regretted it even if she hated his guts.

She does, however, regret meeting Collei. The knowledge that the experiments led to some of the children surviving would have been plenty enough - seeing her in person was unnecessary and uncomfortable for both of them even if they didn't talk to each other. It's not so much that she regrets what was done to her, even less so because it worked, but it brought back a period of her life that was decidedly behind her and she could have done without that. At least they both decided to ignore each other, because she would have regretted the event even more if it had led to a diplomatic incident with the General Mahamatra.

B) What inspired you to create them?

Well. The honest answer to that is that I didn't really vibe with any Tartaglia ships, so encouraged by my beloved @ultipoter I had a "fine, I'll do it myself" moment and next thing I knew Talya existed. At the time I was also thinking a lot about the Chasm, the abyssal mud, and the Fatui there, and so I made a character I could develop all of those more with.
