A lil sketch that got a bit more complex than intended. This is for my secondary blog @runaway-inspirer where I pretend I'm a bard. The queue of shirts is longer than it should due to minor illusion.

If I could draw, I would draw my Tav, who is a gnome illusion wizard, (only because the vanilla game had no option to make an extra small goblin like she was in the dnd campaign where I first played her) playing around with enlarge/reduce.

Specifically; reducing Halsin, and when he's still taller at 3.5 ft, enlarging herself to a whole 4 ft and being the big spoon for once.

And then doing it the other way; making him 14 ft tall and her about 1 ft, and being cradled ever so gently in his hands.

But I can't, so the image has to stay in my head. Tragic

Down the parsed dialogue rabbit hole again, this time looking at Ethel's Vicious Mockery lines for all the characters, and goddamn, they are brutal.

Do you have any headcanons for what music in the wizarding world is like?

I know we see a couple musicians in the books but I know we hear fairly little about Wizarding world music beyond that. And with electronics not working in the wizarding world, harder to bring in a boombox or ipod to show off muggle music to 'em

I mean, I don't really know anything about music, so it's not really my area of expertise. That being said, it's implied there is muggle music influence on wizarding music.

It's seen in the descriptions of some of the musicians we encounter. The Wierd Sisters are described as:

they were all extremely hairy and dressed in black robes that had been artfully ripped and torn.

Which is clearly meant to be a rock band, specifically a metal band. This is a musical style that definitely didn't exist before the Statue of Secrecy. And, we know wizards copied the concept of radio from muggles as well. It's also canon that muggle radios can pick up magical channels:

The Ministry conceded that Muggles frequently catch snippets of advice on, for instance, how to prune a Venomous Tentacula, or how best to remove gnomes from a cabbage bed

So it stands to reason wizards could listen to muggle channels and therefore have access to muggle music.

In terms of like, wizarding society's approach to music, we see there aren't a lot of musicians in the UK (which makes sense, as their society is tiny) but there are enough of them, and enough older magical music that blood purists probably only listen to wizard musicians. There are also probably international musicians and such.

But I don't really have many headcanons besides them being very influenced by muggle music, with, perhaps 5-10 years of delay in trends. Like, even the music blood purists consider 100% magical, is actually heavily influenced by muggle trends, because their society isn't as separated as they like to think.

But I do think wizard music has some older influences that are uniquely their own. It's a mix of influences that gets the variations of musical styles they have.
