“ I'll see you reach the Wizard, whether I get a heart or not. Beehive, bah! Let her try and make a beehive out of me! ”
—  BASICS  —
NAME: The Tin Woodsman AGE Twenty-six OCCUPATION: Deputy/ Poilce Officer [ negotiable ] STORY: The Wizard of Oz — IN SHORT  — Conflicted but not less driven to prove he is more than what Dorothy and the Wizard made him, The Tin Woodsman is still the skilled talker and driven hunk of the machine he was in Oz. though his morals might be a bit skewed there’s a heart of gold somewhere in that tin chest of his, he just needs to remember what it’s like to get it beating again.
+ generous, brave, dashing -Â impulsive, temperamental, cold
— HISTORY  — Before Dorothy swooped in for the rescue. before He was rusted in that spot without a heart, the Tin Woodsman had a job. A purpose to his creation. Cut wood. And for a hunk of parts that seemed to work together on the principles of magic, the Tin Woodsman loved his job even if he couldn't understand what love was.  But he wasn't always made of tin, nor was he always the hallow empty man that Dorothy found and oiled up. No before the yellow brick road, before houses fell on withes, the tin woodsman was a man...er munchkin. He fell in love with the only unobtainable woman he could. The Wicked Witch of the East--but then again she wasn't the Wicked Witch and she wasn't part of the be all and end all Witches coven then either. they were happy.  But happiness can only last so long when the only woman you've ever loved wants power more than you.  Devastated, heartbroken and alone, the Tins Woodmans was a shattered man. Caught in the revolt against the witch, the Tin Woodsman, once known as Boc, found himself trampled and burned trying to protect the only woman he'd ever felt something for, something more than infatuation as he did with Galinda the Good.  Taking pity on him, the one woman who he despised with all his being cast a spell on him. Gone where the fleshy limbs of his body, burns, and blood and all. Replaced by tin and metal. Things that would never be broken again. But in all her good intentions, the Wicked Witch forgot to give him his heart. Empathetic and cold-hearted the tin woodsman found purpose in his newly given life. Until that fateful day when the storms tore through Oz. The blue skies darkened and rain poured down from the skies. Flooding many of the wondrous forest and valleys of Munchkin Country.Â
Rusted in his spot, The Tin Woodsman thought his life was over. Until once again the sky darkened and in its place the woman who had to cause him so much heartbreak was crushed under a house. the Savior to his people and to him, Dorothy oiled him up alongside her companion the Scarecrow. Agreeing to see to it that Dorothy make it Emerald City, the Tin Woodsman pledge his loyalty to the new witch of the far off land named Kansas. Had he known then what he knew now, perhaps he would have warned her away. Perhaps he'd allow her to subcome fully to the magic of Oz, for it didn't change just the sweet girl from Kansas. it changed them all. There are moments, even now, he thinks of what if things had been different. Little did they know there was a balance to Oz. Four witches for each quadrant of OZ, and they'd disrupted that thanks to the lack of information given to them by the wizard. And for all his troubles he'd been given a heart. Perhaps it was better to be heartless than have a heart at all--a question he still grapples with even now. When it was clear his newfound devotion to Dorothy was misplaced, the Tin Woodsman acted on her command upon her return to Oz. But gone was the sweetly innocent and doe-eyed girl he'd fallen for. In her place was something darker. And that darkness called to other darkness in him, in the Scarecrow, in the Lion and finally in the Oppunger. Agreeing to help her with her tasks, the trio obeyed every whim of the selfish and corrupt child Dorothy had transformed into. Even upon their capture and enslavement, the Tin Woodsman vowed to do whatever he could to win the affection of Dorothy.Â
and that vow had made him do unspeakable acts. Does he regret them now that they're "free" from the Oppunger's influence? No. Would he do them if Dorothy were to simply say the words? Most definitely. But there's something about the mundane world that's changing him, perhaps that darkness has yet to be shed but there's hope--he feels it every morning he wakes up, every moment he's apart from the clutches of Dorothy and helping the Sheriff keep everyone in line. But one thing is for certain if she were to ask him a favor he'd jump at the chance to fulfill it. Perhaps he's even done deeds he's not aware of yet. Only time will tell.Â
